Being Jschlatts S/O Includes (Hc) …
Shout out to my babe @lvrj4mie for the amazing ideas ILY POOKIE
Pairing: Schlatt x Y/n
Type: Fluff
▷ He’s very protective over you. Not in an unhealthy “you can’t leave” way, more of a “if anyone hurts you they’re dead” way.
▷ You have a drawer of your things at his place. After you began dating and practically spent every day at his house, he insisted that you keep a drawer of your belongings at his place.
▷ Receiving occasional bursts of affection from him. It's as if he can't contain his love and excitement, especially during those moments when he's feeling particularly affectionate. You could be sitting on the couch and he’ll just immediately smother you and attack your face with kisses… not that you mind.
▷ Definitely the Black Cat x Golden Retriever couple trope.
▷ Schlatt can be a chaotic and unpredictable character, but you're there to provide stability and calm in his life. You help balance his hectic lifestyle and remind him to take care of himself. You’re the calm in his storm.
▷ Despite his tough guy exterior, he's rather tender-hearted, especially when it comes to you.
▷ Spoils the shit out of you. Whatever you want he gets, even though you insist he doesn’t need to get you anything/you don’t want anything. He does it anyways.
▷ Introvert and Extrovert Balance. If Schlatt leans toward extroversion and you are more of an introvert (or vice Versa), you find a harmonious balance. He brings you out of your shell, and you provide him with moments of quiet reflection.
▷ Stealing his hoodies/shirts.
"Hey, toots, have you seen my..." Schlatt's words trailed off as he caught sight of you comfortably seated on the couch, wearing his oversized hoodie while engrossed in your game. Due to his substantial stature, his clothes practically swamped you, with sleeves rolled up twice for a better fit.
"Is that my hoodie?" he asked, a playful smirk on his face.
You nodded, a hint of mischief in your eyes. "Yeah, it is. I can take it off if you don't want me to wear it."
He shook his head, a fond smile spreading across his face. "No, no, it's okay. You look good in my clothes." He wrapped his arms around your shoulders and leaned in, planting a tender kiss on your neck.
▷ He has so many nicknames for you. Toots (obviously), sweetheart, babe, I could also definitely see him call his partner pet.
▷ Comfort in silence. Whether you’re watching him edit, gaming in the same room, or simply sitting together silently on the couch, you didn’t need words to communicate. There's a comfortable silence that speaks volumes about your connection and comfort with each other.
▷ His cats absolutely ADORE you… Maybe more than him.
▷ Late night food runs. Due to the nature of his job, Schlatt has a lot of late nights editing videos or planning future projects. On those particularly stressful nights, which is often, you like to suggest a late night food run to clear his mind. He always agrees as it’s an excuse to spend some quality time with you… and get food.
▷ You shamelessly tease him in a playful manner, fully aware that you can get away with it.
▷ Contrary to popular opinion I think he’s quite affectionate, at least behind closed doors. He’s always got a hand on your thigh, laying on your chest, or some sort of touch.
▷ You’re definitely ‘Those pet parents’ with Jambo and Burnt soup. They’re basically like your children, making you the perfect happy family.

Andrew Garfield talking about his girlfriend for 8 minutes video
Word Count: 1.2k
Category: Fluff
Warning: None
Summary: A fan makes a YouTube video of Andrew Garfield talking about you for 8 minutes straight.
..
Tumblr media
When the news of you and Andrew dating got out three years ago, fans and the media had a field day.
It wasn’t because you were anyone famous—quite the opposite. Being someone with a normal job, you and Andrew had basked in finally going outside as a couple, and it was how adorable the pictures looked that had everyone freaking out.
One picture was of you laughing, Andrew’s arms around you from behind as he wrapped his coat around you as he wore it, a grin on his face.
Another picture was of you looking at him, eyes set on one another with his hands tangled in your hair, while the other was of him kissing you and despite the photo not being one in high quality, everyone could still see the small smirk he had as you kissed.
It was no surprise when fans posted edits of you together, and although the content they got was minimal, considering your lack of presence in interviews and public press, it was always a field day when you appeared beside him on a red carpet or when you both did as little as grab yourselves some coffee.
Andrew Garfield talking about his girlfriend y/n for 8 minutes straight
The 8-minute and 29-second video started with lofi music over an advertisement for marvel hoodies that everyone seemed to promote, before a sound of glitching television sounded and the video started.
The video started with Andrew and Zendaya’s Actor on Actor interview when they first started talking about Zendaya’s performance on Euphoria.
“Makes me want to cry. I didn’t feel like there was any acting. It felt like you were living through something in such an authentic way,” Andrew said, “And I remember I watched episode 5 with Y/N—with my girlfriend, and she was just like, ‘Andy, can you check up on Zendaya?’”
Zendaya smiled, being her usual self who got flustered at any compliment or praise, “She did text me that night, I remember.”
“She did,” he nodded, “She was so heartbroken over the episode.”
The video then moved to show Andrew during his Wired Autocomplete interview, the foam board in his hand as he took off the sticker that hid the question.
“Does Andrew Garfield sing in Tick, Tick…Boom?” He read, “So, Andrew Garfield does sing in Tick, Tick…Boom, yes. Thank you,” he answered, “I worked very, very closely with an amazing vocal coach, Liz Caplan, and all of Lin Manuel Miranda’s amazing musical direction team. They enabled me to open my voice up to the point where I could honor Jon’s songs and feel confident enough to belt them out as he always did when he was doing his one-man show,” he nodded slight, “It was a privilege to be able to learn a skill that I’ve always wanted to attain but my girlfriend wouldn’t really agree,” he chuckled, looking at the camera, “Y/N’s had enough of my singing, because every time I’d learn something new, it’d be the only thing I’d be doing around our home and she’s incredible, she has a job that she needs to focus on and rest from, but I was always there singing and annoying her,” he laughed, “She’s a gem for putting up with me.”
Another clip then played as Andrew read Buzzfeed’s thirst tweets, headphones on his ears.
“Andrew Garfield if you see this on your secret Twitter account, I’m free this weekend if you want to get lunch or drinks or something, just let me know. If you want to do it earlier, I can do dinner during the week,” he chuckled as he read the tweet, “But I’m usually busy before six,” he finished with a laugh, leaning back in his seat, “I love that. That’s very, very—I like hyper-vigilance. I like specificity of plans,” he said, “But I’m going to have to give you a rain check on that because I’m actually busy on the weekend, unless you want to join in on my girlfriend and I’s date, then it’s fine by me,” he laughed, “I can do lunch during the week though, but we’re going to have to have that at Y/N’s office because that’s where you’ll usually find me having my lunch.”
The clip then moved to Andrew on the Ellen show, getting asked about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and having to lie to people.
“Who knew? Beside your agent, who knew that you were doing this? I mean, how hard is that? To keep it to—I mean, your family knew?” Ellen asked him.
“Yeah, my dad, my brother, and my mother at the time,” he answered with a smile, “Yeah, just kind of us. It was fun to keep it secret,” he grinned, “Because you know when you’re planning a surprise birthday party for someone, and then you’re like, tell me, you know I hate surprises, but I can see it on your face that you’re just like ‘I’m not gonna tell you’,” he shook his head with his wide grin, “So it felt like I was part of organizing a surprise birthday party for a bunch of people whom I knew would appreciate it.”
“Did your girlfriend know?”
Beaming even more, “Y/N had no idea,” he said, laughing, “And—lying to the media, to the fans, that was easy and fun, but lying to my girlfriend has got to be—it was one of the most agonizing and terrible things I have ever done.”
“You lied to her for what? Two years?”
“Technically, it was a year and a few months,” Andrew pointed.
“And how—how did she take that? I’d be pretty offended.”
He laughed, shaking his head, “She wasn’t, she wasn’t. I knew she’d appreciate it because she knows how I feel about my experience with the character, and it was—I’ll tell you something,” he sat up, smiling, “It was worth every single moment where I had to tell her I was shooting for another movie when I saw her reaction when we went to watch it together,” he said, “We had to watch it again because she couldn’t really focus after I was on screen,” he laughed, “But yeah, it—it was definitely hard having to lie to her, and it definitely made her tease me about trust for a while, but she supported me throughout without even knowing.”
The clip then moved to the last one, being from a recent interview with GQ of 10 things Andrew can’t live without.
In a t-shirt and sporting a full beard, he held a silver necklace with a compass on it.
“This is a necklace with a compass on it,” he said, holding the necklace in his hands before the camera zoomed on it before it showed him again, “My girlfriend Y/N gave this to me in a period where I needed to trust the direction I was going, even if I didn’t know where I was going,” he chuckled, looking at it, “It’s become such a symbol of our relationship because in a way, to me, it feels like it navigates us both back to where we have always met, toward our common interests and our differences that initially made us attracted to each other. But she’s always been very persistent on her support for me and my journey in my career, and my journey as a person, so this necklace is just a reminder from her that the direction I’m headed in is always one I can find value in,” he smiled, “My relationship with Y/N is very essential to me. She’s just—She’s truly my person, and this necklace is a symbol of the deep connection we have with each other.”

I just woke up and I chose violence let's go.
Look all I'm sayin' is
If you're gonna attack AI generative art
You should, for the same reason, attack Toby Fox.
The reason I've seen the most for people not liking AI is that it's not "Real art" and that it "Takes jobs from artists" and that it "Steals from other artists"
Well, then, let's talk about how Hopes and Dreams by Toby Fox uses fake Violins to mimic a symphony orchestra. Toby could have hired a real orchestra but he used a fake one and y'all came in your drawers over it.
Why'd nobody ever lift a finger to cover social media in how Toby Fox doesn't deserve to make money because his song "Undertale" uses a fake guitar that sounds just like a real one? He could have hired a musician to play guitar but he didn't! That cost a REAL guitar player a job, didn't it?
And how come when it was found out that Toby Fox stole entire lietmotifs from other games like Kirby n shit, y'all had like 600,000,000 excuses to defend him?
I don't dislike Toby I think he's amazing, like 100/10, one'a the brightest examples of a success story of all time and one of the nicest most pure-hearted people on earth who made two of my favorite games of all time and a ton of my favorite music. Spider Dance has been my ring tone for like 8 years.
I'm just saying, the literal same reasons I see people attacking AI gen art is shit that Toby does, all of it, and y'all worship Toby for it but attack artists.
And neither here nor there, but hear me out?
Y'all will say you're in defense of artists keeping their jobs and their livelihoods which is so very noble of you, but if an artist draws shortstacks that are just a little too short, or if an artist utilizes AI, or if an artist draws Rose Quartz skinny, or if an artist draws Sans and Frisk getting a little too Frisky, or if an artist votes for Trump, or if an artist says a dirty word you don't like, or if an artist draws a black person that looks just a little bit too stereotypical, or if an artist draws a lesbian character getting fucked, or if an artist doesn't believe in gender identities, or if an artist doesn't put trans characters in their graphic novel, or if an artist makes a sexy character with butt-jiggle the protagonist of their video game; Y'ALL ARE COMPLETELY OKAY WITH SAYING THAT ARTIST SHOULDN'T BE MAKING MONEY, AND BANDWAGONING A HATEMONGERING BRIGADE AGAINST THEM.
Or in the Sans and Frisk case: PUT SEWING NEEDLES INSIDE OF COOKIES AND GIVE THEM TO THE ARTIST WHO DREW IT, PUTTING THEM IN THE HOSPITAL.
Listen
Spare me this "We hate AI because we care about the jobs of artists" shit, you lying scoundrels. You don't care about my job! You've tried to cancel me like 500 goddamn times, got my Patreon frozen twice, got my PayPal frozen over 100 times even right in the middle of conventions, flooded my stream chat and spammed the N-word in chat trying to get my Twitch banned, flooded my Discord multiple times with links to CP trying to get my Discord banned, and you have entire Discord servers literally called things like "Jay is an asshole" and "The We Hate Jay Society" (YEAH I KNOW YOU FUCKERS EXIST, HI, HAVE FUN SCREENCAPPING THIS).
My artistic career has been under fire for the past 12 years because I draw things y'all disagree with, have opinions you don't like, and have family members who vote for politicians you think are the boogeyman that's the cause of all your problems (and haven't disowned those family members). With all due respect, when I hear "We hate AI because we believe in fair wages for artists and want to protect the jobs of artists" I just wanna strangle your lying ass.
You hate AI because it's popular to hate AI.
AI is like a prosthetic robot arm that helps you carry the groceries, and disabled people like myself (rheumatoid arthritis) benefit from its uses greatly (such as being able to draw backgrounds much easier which has greatly improved my art and INCREASED MY COMMISSION REVENUE DUE TO MY ART QUALITY IMPROVING [But y'all don't care that AI helps artists earn more money, you hate AI because you claim it's hurting artists' ability to earn money]), but you're so hung up on people using the robot arm instead of their real arms that you think you're some crusader against injustice.
You aren't.
You're just looking for reasons to attack people, it's what you do. I've been dealing with y'all looking for any goddamn reason to attack someone that you can muster for the last 12 years, hell even before that I dealt with you types. You just want to hate, you want to be prejudiced so fucking bad that you look for literally any reason you can possibly find to make some vaguepost about how much you hate an artist and post it to Reddit, and then when you get called out, get so surprised that I found your bitch ass that you start pretending you didn't mean any ill will, and start pretending that you're someone else in the most pathetic attempt to dodge blame I've ever seen.
Tumblr media
[Context: The OP of this post accidentally revealed who they are on Tumblr, and then when I called them out on Tumblr, they pretended they were someone else because they were scared I was gonna out them on Tumblr and they tried pathetically to cover their ass, and even politely said "I never wanted to garner hate against you" when they literally posted "I hate the way he draws women" on r/mendrawingwomen and flooded the comment section (mostly now deleted) with how "disgusting of a person" I am, while I was in the comments politely giving context to the shit he was saying about me, and he started getting furious when other people were liking my art and agreeing with me instead of him. I have like 600 screencaps of all the cringe this guy spewed, but I'm not gonna post it all because it's tangential anyway. Case in point? This guy's blog is absolutely covered with how much he hates artists for drawing things he doesn't like, and he regularly posts about how AI is taking jobs from artists. Not gonna out his blog, but that's who he is. A shining example of exactly what I'm talking about. "I hate AI because it takes jobs from artists!" "THIS MAN-THING DRAWS WOMEN IN A WAY I DON'T LIKE AND HE'S A DISGUSTING PERSON, EVERYONE JOIN ME IN HATING HIM AND TRYING TO RUIN HIS REPUTATION AND THEN WE CAN CELEBRATE WHEN HE LOSES HIS JOB!!!"]
Like, y'all can sit there and act like you're defending me and artists like me all you want, you're liars. You're boldfaced fucking liars. You are disgusting. It's completely pathetic watching you attack a tool that can be used to improve our art, and claim it's in defense of the authenticity of our art and the continued financial stability of our artistic careers. Fucking give me a break.
You're looking for people who say positive things about AI art so you can attack them and feel justified because it's popular to attack them.
All while sitting there and gladly swallowing the cum of any musician who makes amazing music with synths, fake symphony instruments and autotune.
"We care about the jobs of artists."
Yeah.
Long as those artists fall in line with your opinions and only draw things that agree with said opinions, right?
Wouldn't wanna care about the jobs of "problematic" artists who draw "offensive" stuff or vote for politicians you don't like.
Final note: This isn't even an attack against any political opinions or activism or anything like that, but I'm being realistic here because these are the people I see brigading against AI art. It's not me saying those people are dumb for having their opinions or political standpoints or being activists for their beliefs, it's me saying those people are the ones who are constantly attacking AI art in "defense of artists," while in the same breath attacking artists for not sharing their political standpoints or also being activists for the same causes. If you truly, truly cared about the livelihood of artists, you'd stop attacking artists' livelihood for disagreeing with you. Or for that matter: Any reason. Stop attacking artists' livelihood, or stop pretending you care about it. Be consistent, at least.

Hi, I really loved your old youtube channel. You did such an amazing job of documenting all of Astarion's scenes and everything was so well organized. I used to go back to it all the time for reference or just to enjoy his dialogue. I'm sorry if this has been answered before but are you considering recreating it again? Are those videos available somewhere else? I unfortunately haven't been able to find a channel of a similar quality to yours on youtube.
Hi! Unfortunately I reopened it last month on youtube with another email and spent a lot of time censoring video... just for youtube to delete it again for "spam". Not sure what the spam was, I asked and asked and never got any answer.
Unfortunately I am not sure where to upload the videos, all platforms I tried do not allow for timestamps or so many videos.
I have some on dailymotion here:
Maybe I will put there some of them.
The thing I hate the most is that youtube does not seem to have a lot of wyll videos with all the options. Oh well.

Rating my Raymen from favorite to least favorite!
Sparks Of Hope- 100/10!
Tumblr media
When Nintendo gave Rayman his comeback, they did everything perfectly! *Mwah* 👌 His design is so fresh and expressive. His face looks very kissable. And his hair... so floofy! 💗 Personality wise, he is possibly the most relatable Rayman of all. I mean, have you looked at him? He gives off so many depressed, tired millennial vibes. Despite that, he still has his enthusiasm for adventure. He also kept his kind heart, with a little adorable shyness to boot. Man, his voice is so comforting, I could listen to it all day. Thank you, Mr. Gasman.
Props to Nintendo for the recurring gag of Rayman's appendages coming apart. I love it when his limblessness is rooted in humor. What amazes me more is how this is the first Rabbids game that allows Rayman to perform his iconic feats, since he never did any of those in the previous Rabbid titles. There is nothing I don't like about this Rayman! It's so warm. He is the living definition of quality art! No, he is art!
Rayman 3- 10/10
Tumblr media
This is the game that gave Rayman his stunning new design that became the preferable fan favorite. (By the way, Rayman 3 is the best Rayman game. I said so, and I don't give a fuck on what others say.) He's funky, silly, and laid-back, yet still takes his job seriously, while being a loving friend we all wished we had. The over the top cartoony physics in his character certainly brings out a laughable charm, too. I'd say this Rayman is SEGA's answer to Sonic The Hedgehog.
The steady blend in his personality, paired with a badass looking design, truly makes Rayman stand out as a memorable video game character for all ages. Just looking at him, you know he's very welcoming. David Gasman did an excellent job providing his voice. He was even good enough to revise his role as the limbless wonder in SOH, cuz no other voice actor can do it better. Dare I say it: R3 Ray is pretty handsome, too. HUGE FEATURES.
Rayman 2- 9/10
Tumblr media
Sweet precious boy with a squishy baby face, I just wanna squeeze, and doesn't hold one bad bone in his body. (Does Rayman even have bones?) For some reason, he looks more cute in low poly than any of the high rendered art. I think it's because the outdated graphics make him look like a cuddly teddy bear. He's just a little guy. But under all that cuteness, he's a determined hero who never goes back on his word, and will go through hell just for you. Purest man alive.
However, he's a little too nice for his own good. That's his entire character in the game, which is the only thing I could nitpick. I would like to see him show some anger, or deliver sarcastic one-liners, but only centered on his earnest side. To be fair, the game does exploit on his playful side a little. He dances with Teensies, plays basketball with his torso, and performs somersaults on Clark the Giant. Rayman M/Arena even highlighted his playfulness more.
The Animated Series- 8.5/10
Tumblr media
R2 Rayman's cartoon counterpart, but with a more fleshed out personality. In my opinion, Rayman himself is one of the only watchable moments in this series. He's your stereotypical rebellious teen with a no-bullshit attitude, and will slap you with a good dose of sass. But at the same time, he still cares for others around him, and has shown to be quite considerate, as well as a wise leader. Billy West did a decent job voicing Rayman. I'm gonna be honest: The broken Boston accent is very amusing to listen to. lol Reminds me of myself, since I too speak with a broken Boston accent. And since Billy West is autistic, I officially claim AS Rayman to be autistic as well! 🙌
Sadly, as much as it pains me, I had to put him behind R2 Rayman. Despite being the titular character, the series doesn't offer much of him. It rarely focuses on Rayman at all. If you removed him entirely from the show, nothing will change. The only time Rayman ever used his powers is in the second episode, and a little bit in the first. He's got so much potential, only to have it wasted. They did my boy dirty like that.
Rayman 1- 8/10
Tumblr media
This little lad was Cuphead before Cuphead. (Their games have similar aspects, if you think about it) What can I say about him? Well, he's such a pure child, so small and cozy, who is willing to leap into danger with a smile on his face. I wanna hold him and spoil him. Give him dessert before dinner. The most interesting factor to admire about him is how he's meant to represent an old Golden Age cartoon, courtesy of Tex Avery's inspiration. Aside from being cute and wacky, he's a good fella who will make friends with some of his enemies. He also tends to have hidden depths, like painting and singing show tunes.
I'm sorry for ranking him very low on the list, but there aren't that many insights to his character. He doesn't talk (much), we don't see him properly interact with other characters, and the game isn't heavily emphasized on storytelling. The plot is just free Electoons, and kick baddie ass. I will give credit to the edutainment games, for expanding more on R1 Rayman's character.
Raving Rabbids- 6.3/10
Tumblr media
Here, we are given a more softer approach of Rayman. The RR trilogy portrays our limbless wonder as an awkward cutie who just wants to indulge a peaceful relaxing break, while still having his determination and heroic spirit. He will wear a dress to a death defying arena course, and he's a damn good dancer. He also tries to be a good uncle to Globox's kids. It's very satisfying to watch Rayman do mundae stuff, although in RRR 2, it only depends on who you're playing as.
Unfortunately, it's safe to admit that this Rayman is a mere joke. Most of the time, he's portrayed as a coward, lets the rabbids walk all over him, and doesn't think before his actions. He spent 15 days being the bunnies' bitch before he eventually escaped, when he could've just flown out of his cell, or fought the bunnies off! (That was the original premise of the game, after all!) He forgets to save Globox's kids in the end, which made his escape plan turn out to be a complete waste, then ends up getting stuck in a burrow before being eaten by sheep. We don't know if he stopped the bunnies in RRR 2, although TV Party implied that he failed. Needless to say, it's not his fault. He was intentionally made to look bad just so the rabbids could shine. Fuck you, Ubisoft.
UbiArts- 4/10
Tumblr media
Although the games did really poorly in sales and soon reduced to dumb mobile games later on, there's no denying that this Rayman would eventually spring back into stardom. Inspired by his original 2D counterpart, we're introduced to an adorkable, careless adventurer, with an attitude that will light up your worst moods. He's aesthetically wacky, and knows how to have a good time.
As fun of a character he may be, he's a little weak in depth. So far, all he can be is wacky and happy. He's happy all the time. Not to mention he's too immature. I know some of you will fight back against this argument with "But Rayman acts exactly how he did in his first game!" Well, yes, and no. R1 Rayman is pretty wacky and childish, but he had variety; Showing anger, fear, friendliness, classiness, and his wackiness is up to old-school Looney Tunes level. Whereas UbiArts' Rayman is one dimensional. It's even worse that the playable characters have the same personality and fighting strategy as him.
Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix- 2/10
Tumblr media
I was worried that Rayman turned out to be a greedy propagandist who has no shame in working under a corrupted system. As I found out, much to my relief, he's not a villain. Just an ordinary nice guy who wants to stand in the spotlight. All he wanted was to do some good in his life. He really means no harm in his actions. Because Eden handed him his stardom on a silver platter, the best he could do was be loyal towards them, making it easy for Eden to manipulate him. Once he discovered the dark truth Eden was burying, he then decided to fix what his influence had done. I really sympathize with him. I feel his pain. I admire that his heart is in the right place. He has every right to let out all his bottled up feelings.
He's a good character. But the problem is he's not a good character as Rayman. He doesn't even feel like Rayman at all. He's only Rayman in name and appearance. The rest of his character is BoJack Horseman clashed with Shadow The Hedgehog. The idea of Rayman swearing, drinking, and trying drugs is fun, but he's so oversaturated with edge, I can hardly recognize him, especially when he wears sleeves. I'm also not a big fan of his design. If "Ramon" wants to kill a group of fascists for using him, he could at least do it the more traditional Rayman way! Fuck the guns! Just beat them to death! Whip out the ol' lockjaw! Slice and dice 'em with helicopter hair! If you like this version of Rayman, I gradually respect that, and will support you. This Rayman just isn't for me.
Rayman And Les Moldies- 0/10.
Tumblr media
Kill it. I don't care if this is the only piece of artwork we have so far on the show. Kill it.

rgg game osts ranked Yeah.................
Tumblr media
LONG ASS POST AHEAD!!!!!! BAH!!!!!!!!!!!
for context awhile back a yakuza discord server i'm in had a music discussion thread open up and we were invited to make simple little tier lists for the game osts to start it off. it was supposed to be just the tier list but i eventually spiraled into a whole ramble. whoops. so i might as well just paste it here with a few additions so the rest of you can see it yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!
will be providing my reasonings and then my highlight tracks. i'm gonna provide convenient youtube links to all the songs mentioned so if you wanna check one of them out feel free to just click the hyperlink
and yes this is ordered in tiers. the personal highlights aren't though
Tumblr media
>Yakuza 5 is my personal top 1 OST overall, but it's seriously close. I can't tell you enough how much of a nut I am for this series and its music. Yakuza 5's ost is, in my eyes, the most consistently hard-hitting amongst all of RGG's catalogue. The street fight themes are all amazing, the boss fight themes hit hard and pump you the hell up, and this also has the one of the best B-sides out of all of them, with stuff like Baka Mitai (fun fact, Saejima's is actually considered the original version, Kiryu's "Taxi Driver Edition" actually uses a different key to fit Kuroda's voice), the songs from Haruka's section, and even the jazzy bar themes. 5 hits that perfect balance of quantity and quality, and also happens to fill like half of my workout playlist.
Personal Highlights:
The place where I used to be
Daigo's western theme
Victory Road
and of course The Battle for the Dream
Tumblr media
>I am such a sucker for Yakuza 4's music direction. As Tehsnakerer said in his Yakuza 4 video, this is the first truly GREAT soundtrack, and I'd have to agree. The jazzier style of music on showcase here fits this series- and this entry ESPECIALLY- like a glove. This is such a quality collection of sounds. Featuring the best panic themes, the best chase themes, and some iconic street battle themes. 4's direction makes it stand out even more amongst RGG's catalogue, and I couldn't be happier about it. Also, this game gave us Machine Gun Kiss and Pure Love in Kamurocho, which are two of my favorite karaoke tracks in the whole series.
Please bring back Pure Love in Kamurocho for a modern title, RGG. I'm begging you.
Personal Highlights:
Solitude
Receive and Bite You
Infinite Handcuffs
yeah yeah fine For Faith
Tumblr media
Why couldn't they use this for the actual cover instead of the weird one we have now like come on this looks so much better
>Is anyone gonna disagree with me when I say Lost Judgment is easily the best out of the more techno-focused soundtracks? They handle it perfectly here, with tracks that grab you by the throat like K.O.G. and Dig In Your Heels, utilizing the electric sound with effortless grace, while still having enough variety throughout to keep it from getting stale. I also found the B-sides here surprisingly strong alongside the main game, with the school stories giving us a nice variety of music to work with. The boxing ones and Toward To The Skyline are what I'd highlight in that selection.
Personal Highlights:

>Gaiden oh my gah......... Despite the shorter game, I seriously dig the tracks on display here. It's so consistently amazing, and does a great job of servicing both the legacy of Kiryu, and giving us some Good Shit™️ for the newer faces. This is also when I really came to appreciate the cutscene tracks: Wounded Beast is such a kickass track that you'd be forgiven for thinking it plays in an actual fight, and Psycho's Prelude is an amazing hype-up track for an even more amazing boss theme. Also worth mentioning there's like a gajillion coliseum tracks in this one. Have no idea why but y'know I appreciate it. It's cool.
Personal Highlights:
Psycho's Anthem
Deadly Struggle / Fleeting Dream (HAKANAKI YUME)
Bring It On (best street fight track to date i'm not taking notes at this time)

>0 has One-Eyed Assassin so it automatically goes here. The rest of the tracks are decent too ig 🙄 There are a few sort of those "eh whatever cool skip it" tracks in here which hold it back a teeny bit in my eyes, but this is still a really solid collection overall, and also gets props for being Kiwami's soundtrack if it was good. I'm kidding of course but 0 handles it pretty well for the most part. I find 0 is at its best music-wise when they either go all-in with the techno, or shy away from it almost entirely.
Personal Highlights:
Make You Free
Both Receive You remixes (The Subtype and ~Tech Trance Arrange~)
Interplanetary Spark
Reign
Tumblr media
>Yakuza 6 has Lots of Lights so it automati I think 6 does a really good job at telling a story through its music. You have tragedy being painted in Fist Law and DESTINY, you have sheer anger and brutality being portrayed in Body and Soul, and you can even find it in the street themes with the feeling of "I am completely done with all of this bullshit" in KAMURO again. I also wanna say this has some of ZENTA's best work, which I really really REALLY appreciate.
Personal Highlights:
Lots of Lights
DESTINY
Bloodstained Philosophy (coolest name for a track i can't lie)
Theory of Beauty
Tumblr media
>Judgment immediately does a great job of differentiating itself from the Yakuzas, and it's apparent as soon as you get into the street fight tutorial. The OST does a great job of painting Yagami and the overall bleaker picture of the game. Where some battle themes in the main series feel like a victory lap, JE instead sometimes has you feel like you're on the backfoot. Lambda, Hyenas Wheezing, and Rake Your Inside are all tracks that make you feel like an underdog, and give you that strength to power through what seems like impossible odds. It also has Flower of Chivalry so it aut
Personal Highlights:
Encounter ~ Keihin Alliance
Hyena's Wheezing
Penumbra
Destination
Tumblr media
>Like a Dragon (/7) is another heavily techno leaning OST. If you asked me about it a few months ago, I probably would have put this higher. But now with IW out, I've started to see more of 7's OST's flaws. There are few tracks that are either weirdly low-energy, or feel a little generic and mesh together with the rest of the soundtrack, or at worst, both. But 7 still has quite the number of solid tracks, and those that stand out REALLY stand out. Shoutout to one of the most unique long battle tracks in Enter the Tiger.
Personal Highlights:
Brutality
Receive You The Hyperactive
REIWA LABYRINTH

>Yakuza 3 acts as a sort of bridge between the rough, almost grunge-like sound of the PS2 era and the cleaner compositions of later entries. And I think it does both of those styles pretty well! It also starts to experiment with electric sound a little more, while still keeping the heavy guitars 1+2 are known for. The best are obviously composed of the tracks that do both. They even keep the unintelligible English lyrics in some tracks, what's not to love?
Personal Highlights:
Lyricism Without Tears
Clay Doll On The Cradle
Fly
D2A BABY YEAH BEST THEME EVER MADE D2A D2A D2A D2A
Tumblr media
(2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
>Atmosphere is a large part of the PS2 era of Yakuza games' identity, and the music is a pretty large part of that. Yakuza 2 has an aggressive, grungy sound that pairs perfectly with the brutality of the game. You'll find some of the most of the most rough sounding songs in RGG's catalogue in here, and it's just so good in a way that isn't really replicated in the more modern entries. Also one of the tracks (Block Head Boy) samples Wu-Tang for some reason and I find that very funny.
Personal Highlights:
Evil Itself
North Menace
Hit & Kill
Outlaw's Lullaby (I still think the Kiwami 2 remix is the better of the two but this one's still SO good please listen to it if you haven't already)
Tumblr media
whatcho beautiful ass staring at kaito my king >Kaito Files has like 6 tracks. They're all pretty good tracks, but that's like 6 tracks. Come on. Anyways, it's basically just more LJ music, so uhhhh yeah peak
Personal Highlights (plural would be like all of them)
Blood-Drunk Master Theme
Tumblr media
>Kiwami 2. Yeah this one falls into the same trap as 7 does, but with less of those "This is the greatest thing to grace my ears" tracks. It still has some of them, though. The best remixes here are the ones that touch up and make completely sure that what the original has is intact: Lullaby of Outlaws and A Scattered, Eternal Moment are both fantastic in that regard. This also has a decent chunk of completely new tracks, presumably because they couldn't get certain composers back. You have stuff like the amazing triple-part track that plays in the Kamurocho Hills segment, Rebellious Phase which is decent, and the randomly amazing Break Off. Still a crime Evil Itself was snubbed like that smh.
Personal Highlights:
Lullaby of Outlaws
A Scattered, Eternal Moment
Kamuro Hills
Update with Gunfire
Tumblr media
(1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
>Unfortunately, like with most aspects, Yakuza 2 does everything the first game did better. Still though, some quality tracks here. Yakuza 1 doesn't have too much to work with, but it still does utilize its few track slots well. From long-standing iconic tracks like Receive You, to Funk Goes On, and even the off B-side tracks like Singin' Bass, there really isn't a miss in here, just moreso a lack of super standout tracks. There's still quite a few to love despite that, of course.
Personal Highlights
son of a gun
Turning Point
Receive You The Prototype
Funk Goes On
Tumblr media
>kiwami 1 ost snorkkkkkk mimimimimimimim snorkkkkkk mimim Alright I'm exaggerating, but I still think it's pretty weak in comparison to the rest. There's a lot of tracks that just feel kinda butchered to me? And it's not like the new tracks are particularly standout or anything. The tracks that do work are genuinely really good: Ideal For Violence is uhhhh perfect, Get Over It is a really strong long battle theme, Pray Me ~Revive~ is on par, if not arguably better than the original, and For Whose Sake Kiwami matches the sorrow of the original pretty well. But then you have stuff like Funk Goes On 極 which feels weirdly weak, Receive You the madtype which feels sorely outclassed by like, every single other Majima Receive You, and what would be arguably the strongest track, Receive You Reborn, doesn't even show up outside of Japanese versions. Kiwami isn't all bad, hell, there are some really good standouts here, but it just can't really compare to the rest in my eyes.
Personal Highlights:
Ideal For Violence
Get Over It
Amusing Octagon
Everlasting Spirit
Tumblr media
>Infinite Wealth sits in haven't listened enough of solely because I haven't finished the game and thus haven't touched any track past Kooky (UPDATE: now any track past Impregnable Triangle. I'm planning to do the finale by this weekend). By any other metric this would have shot UP. I ADORE this OST. The cutscene tracks, the generic battle themes, the boss themes, the B-sides, they're all so excellent. This inadvertently made 7's OST worse for me because of how much better it handles the techno.
Personal Highlights:
Brutality ~Rebuild~
Impregnable Triangle (Fun fact: this track uses the time signature of 3/4, which is a waltz. I'll let you fill in the blanks for what that means for the theming.)
Kooky
Slugfest (Yamaniacs stay winning what can i say)
ok so uhhh apparently i hit the character limit lmao. didn't even know this site had one. uhhhhhh will continute in a reblog it's just kurohyou and ishin anyways

What are some of your favorite manga of all time?
Oh this will be one of the easiest asks I've ever received! You've got me all hype, anon!
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket
Wanna get me to talk for hours? Mention Fruits Basket. This was the first manga I ever read back when I was still in elementary school and I've never grown out of my love for the series. I will always have a spot for this manga but it's honestly perfection to me.
I love the characters, the messages, the themes and the emotional depth this manga has made me feel over the years? I honestly wish I could experience Fruits Basket all over again. This is without a doubt my favorite shoujo manga of all time. I love all the characters, I love all the ships. Some of my favorite characters off rip have to be Tohru, Shigure, Hatsuharu and Arisa and Saki. But make no mistake I adore Yuki and Kyo and so on and so forth.
This series does such a great job in such a complicated subject matter concerning neglect and abuse in a way that humanizes the abuser without using said humanization to justify their shitty actions. You leave those moments understanding how that person became how they are but can still completely acknowledge how terrible they are. How you don't have to forgive that person for what they did. And that, if you do forgive that person, that doesn't mean you're just letting bygones be bygones and being kumbaya with them. You can forgive and forget or you can forgive and never forget and that's okay. Your forgiving and moving forward for yourself, not them. And that's one of the things I really liked in the series.
Tumblr media
Fullmetal Alchemist
Another series you can get me talking for hours about. You will catch me watching video essay after video essay analyzing this story. I was so into FMA during middle school, one of my moms even bought me the games and made it habit to occasionally buy me the volumes! This is without a doubt, the best shounen has to offer. Quality female characters? Amazing action scenes? Stunning romance? Banger after banger with so many panels I can still recall perfectly.
My favorite volume is definitely volume 15! Because of the manga, Brotherhood is my preference when it comes to the anime adaptations. It has all the homies in it. Another series I wish I could just start from the beginning again with no memory of the source material. These brothers and their friends have altered the chemistry of my brain.
Tumblr media
NANA
Still believe that one day Yozawa will grace us with her beautiful art and storytelling all over again. NANA was my first ever jousei read and my dive into jousei as a whole. Until that point all I had consumed were shounen and shoujo so the maturity of the series was one I wasn't expecting. I consumed this series when I was about in early to late middle school and it was so much fun to read.
Now that I'm in my late 20s, holy hell is this hard to binge the way I used to because the themes, the struggles of the character and the realism of those struggles are hitting a little too close to home now. So I can only do NANA in small doses now haha. I even got both of my moms into NANA. Which isn't too impressive when one of my moms has watched the anime of every manga I've mentioned on this ask, but my other mom is NOT an anime fan and she loves NANA so much.
Tumblr media
Children of the Sea
Oh my goodness, you definitely oh it to yourself to read this manga. It's not a long a read by any means with only 5 volumes and 43 chapters but it was such a pleasure to read. Maybe this bias comes from someone obsessed with the ocean (which my url definitely implies) and the life teeming underneath the surface but wow this was truly an experience. I watched the movie first and then read the manga, and I'm not sure if that'll shape anyone's viewing experience differently but I do wish I had read the manga first. But both are truly great to check out.
If you want a story about a girl meeting two boys raised by dugongs, this is the story for you. One of my favorite aspects of this read were the side stories labeled Testimony of the Sea. It adds so much to the story without even directly influencing the plot as you see all the strange phenomena that take place in the sea leading up to this mysterious event drawing in our protagonists and what will continue well after its conclusion.
Tumblr media
Skip & Loafer
Currently ongoing and a series I was not expecting to like as much as I did. I'm one of the people who got into sukirofa after the anime dropped. 2 episodes in and seeing the absolute beauty and grace of how the staff handled the protagonist's transgender aunt, I had to give this a read and I do not regret in the slightest. This is such a great series and a perfect example how one utilizes 'don't judge a book by its cover'.
Characters you meet at first glance? It only takes a chapter or two before their layers are peeled back and you see how much went in to crafting them and making them more complex than meets the eye. A perfect example of this is the character Mika.
But my favorite chapter has to be ch 29 where you learn what made Nao decide to come out and transition. If you haven't read this series, I won't spoil it, you have to read it for yourself. Prepare for a monthly update schedule, because once that day of the month pops up, it's amazing to see how the sukirofa fandom comes together to scream on twitter and tumblr.
Tumblr media
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
The series that gave birth to the greatest hater in anime history. Araki truly drinks and leaves no molecules every time a part comes out. Another ongoing series I didn't expect to like as much as I did. But it's become a series close to my heart since diving into it after I got over my initial hesitance with the art style. Honestly JJBA's art style really grows on you, especially as you see Araki's art and writing develop so spectacularly.
You get equal parts continuous story and standalone adventure. You do need other pieces of the pie, but each part still feels so rich and in-depth and bright and colorful. You don't feel like the new JoJo and characters introduced are extensions of previous existing ones or usurpers that have stolen the panels away from other characters. It's like watching a torch be passed down from JoJo to JoJo, generation to generation (which it technically is since this story follows the descendants of the JoJo that started it all, Jonathan Joestar).
Araki's biggest source of writing inspiration came from how he felt watching Prince concerts. How the story of the concert would suddenly flip and give you a whole new experience. I feel he truly has that down with JJBA.
Tumblr media
Concubine Walkthrough
Can't believe I even forgot to add Concubine Walkthrough, so take this quick addendum. This is one of the best manhwa I've ever read in my life and not enough people talk about it. I'm working on a post right now all about why I recommend it.
If you're a fan of sci-fi, romance and want to read an otome isekai romp that subverts your expectations? Please read this manhwa. It's The Matrix mixed with historical Korean fiction (and of course, otome isekai at its finest).
I loved loved LOVED the philosophy behind the story, the themes. The discussion of what reality is and choosing what reality means/is to you. Just because your entire life is a simulation, does that make your entire life up until that point irrelevant? Simulated it may be, your joy, your pain, your love, all of that still felt real, right? There were so many things I never considered about that very topic until I read this series and I feel like more people should give it a go. It's not that long a read (only 128 chapters for the main story with some extra bonus content on the side), please please PLEASE read Concubine Walkthrough if you haven't already.

i love your blog!! I have some friends I wanna recommend bg3 to, but I’m not sure how. How would you summarize the game for someone who doesn’t play video games? I wanna say it’s a game based on dnd where your main character gets infected by alien tadpoles, and you recruit friends to help you remove them from your head before you turn into a monster. But that doesn’t capture much of why bg3 is so great. So if you have time, I’d be curious to know how you’d summarize the game/entice people to play! Have a great night!
Aw well thank you deal listener!
Unfortunately, I'm insane, so I might not be the best person to go to for this. If you're explaining it to folks who have played dragon age origins or the first fable, then I'd say that it has the same heart as those two games. It's fun and has wonder etched into every part of it but knows when to tone it down for serious moments and does so masterfully.
The party you gather thought the story actually feel like people who have their own goals and storyline. Larian did a fantastic job on making it feel like all of you are the protagonist without overshadowing Tav/Durge (the player) just like it would be in a dnd campaign. There's even points where the player has the option to shut up and let their companions speak for themselves, and it doesn't feel forced at all.
I've been very bias with the dark urge (one of the origin options) so the storyline of nature vs nurture and overcoming (or relenting) to a life of violence is a whole rant I could go into
Another cool thing about BG3 is that you don't have to have a blank slate character that you figure out the past for (that's Tav which is a name you can change) You can play as the party's wizard, a man ambitious to a fault who begins the story desperately trying to win back the affections of his goddess, you can play as rouge who's the spawn of a cruel vampire lord who, depending on the choices you make, can either break free of the cycle of violence inflicted on him or feed into it. You can also romance these characters, you can also romance no one. Over the course of the story they can become your friends and your family or if you're playing an evil route, which you can 100% do, can be cast aside like pawns.
Baldur's Gate 3, to me, isn't the story of how a ragtag group of adventurers either save the world or doom it. It is a story of breaking free of cycles. Cycles of abuse, cycles of reverence, cycles of compliance. Or continuing them. That choice is up to you.
Also, it's beautiful and made by a team of dev's from a lesser known company who genuinely love what they created and cared about the quality of it over a set release date
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(gifs made by @entreri congrats, your beautiful babies pop up in the first row of results if you google 'bg3 scenery gifs'. they make amazing gifs go check em out!)
Feel free to add onto this with your thoughts guys, I'd love to read them in the reblogs/tags, and they might be helpful for anon! xx

on what side does Rhaebae have her mole?
Hi there :)
Right side <3
If you are wondering where the beauty mark near her eye idea came from, it's not an idea of mine. I first saw Rhaenyra with a beauty mark near her eye on some artwork done for the extra of... I believe season 4 of a certain show we don't talk about anymore, where they explained the Dance.
Tumblr media
Curiously, that video was also a rather amusing AU of "What if Daemon was the father of the "Velaryon" princes?" Because...
Tumblr media
Look at Daemon's nose X'D now look at Luke and Jace's 😂 Look at Daemon and Jace's expressions!!!! I don't know who did the animation, but clearly they were a Daemyra shipper.
PS: This animation curiously also gave me the idea of making Daemon's eyes a pale lilac and Rhaenyra's a darker purple. It's not very obvious due to the lack of quality, but Daemon's eyes were a pale lilac/violet, and Rhaenyra's appear much darker.
Later on, years later, I also saw the same beauty mark near Rhaenyra's eye in the illustrations that Naomimakesart used to make of asoiaf Rhaenyra, which I absolutely loved with all my heart, so I decided to keep this. I honestly love it so much I just can't imagine Rhaenyra without it. Such an elegant detail for the Realm's Delight 🥰 who was doing it like her? Exactly. No one.
Alicent do keep trying ❤️
Naomi, however, unlike in the artwork above, drew Rhaenyra's beauty mark on the right side, so I kept it on the right side as well. Her version of asoiaf Daemon and Rhaenyra remains my favourite to this day I think. Just love how she draws them, so much that I even commissioned her to drew an amazing piece for the Blacks & the Greens which you can find here of Rhaenyra and Daemon's Black Wedding, which has enough drama and deaths to make even the dothraki raise an eyebrow of "Hum... not too shabby but could use more deaths." - you wouldn't know from the illustration though XD
Tumblr media
So, every time I had to describe on which side Rhaenyra's beauty mark was, I just opened one of Naomi's illustrations XD Don't trust me to never have made a mistake though 😂 she on the other hand consistently made it on the right so the Lord has spoken and it is on the right.
By the way if you haven't, leave Naomi a like for this beautiful illustration <3 her old asoiaf illustrations are amongst some of the best I have seen. I am eternally grateful for the joy and inspiration they gave <3
Those of us who were on her patreon between 2019-2020... UGH! We were SPOILED! SPOILED! There was no better time to be a Daemyra shipper, and we got THREE NSFW illustrations of them! Can we go back? Please? PLEASE?!
This was such a funny ask! Thank you!
PPS: If any of you want an actual faithful account of the Dance (if only much summarised) and you don't want to read, you can watch this video on youtube, it's called "The Dance of the Dragons by Shireen, Viserys and others". That moment when D&D did a better job with the Dance than R*an and co 🤡 let's be honest though, literal children would do a better job.

Harper's Bazaar Game
I have enough Bazaar figs at this point to fill up more than one fig stand - but I'm still happy to get more. With any luck, I might manage to put together the whole shoot at this rate!
The inspiration for this fig set are these pictures from the official Harper's Bazaar x 山河令 issue:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And since the photos aren't quite enough, here's one of the official videos, featuring our favorite extremely charged weiqi game:
The scene with the crossed arms is at 1.08.
I do feel you need a pic with the full body outfits for fig comparison pics, so let me rustle up another one...
Tumblr media
Didn't mind going back to this pic one bit! In fact, the less frequently posted but just as good second pic in this set...
Tumblr media
We deserve it! Side note...I do NOT have a fig set of this scene yet, which seems like a grave oversight. That's all. I'm just saying. Please and thank you fig makers!
Tumblr media
These two arrived safely in their polystyrene boxes. I have to say at this point, I'm pretty sold on these boxes as a protection mechanism - I've had extremely good look with them. I used to air bubble wrap everything, but these days I don't, which not only dramatically reduces the shipping volume, therefore saving me expensive ship costs, but dramatically increases my will to live when staring down huge boxes of solidly taped shut bubble wrap.
Tumblr media
Here's a close up of these figs - please note the Zhehan socks and woven leather shoes combo and Gong Jun's big stompy boots, I love them.
Tumblr media
Here's their benches too. The benches are nice and stable, no wobbles here.
Tumblr media
And here they are! Look at those FACES. You know how much I love that sideways smile! This is the fig maker that always does the beauty marks on the ears too, which is always a nice touch.
Tumblr media
These are just too perfect. I like the poses quite a bit, with Zhehan's hand on the bench and Junjun's on his knee.
Tumblr media
Those are some shorter shorts there, gentlemen. I'd say they were at least mid-thigh length.
Tumblr media
I ended up gluing them down as they didn't balance at all on the seats. I have learned (the hard way!) that fig stickers only work if the figs are pretty perfectly balanced to begin with.
Tumblr media
This is time for my obligatory comment on how much I love Zhehan's hair in this style. Just amazing, my all time favorite.
Tumblr media
You can see how the chairs are quite stable here - all four legs on the ground for each one!
Tumblr media
I'm so happy these delicate pieces survived shipping intact!
Tumblr media
This is a nice shot of Zhehan's curling-up smile.
Tumblr media
And we're back around! What cuties. The fig maker did such a nice job with these - the eyes and expressions are just top notch.
Tumblr media
I feel like the fig makers have really dialed in the process at this point! We get such good quality and such good detail.
Tumblr media
Nice and flat undersides here, so they sit firmly in the chairs - at least once they have a little bit of glue.
Tumblr media
Their feet are even posed differently (and cutely!) no replication of body types here.
Tumblr media
I'll say once again how much I love Zhehan's hand on the bench. Adorable.
Tumblr media
One last shot of them posing in their picture shot - I guess I should have scooted them in a little bit more so their wrists would have crossed!
Tumblr media
Our very beautiful fig cards.
Material: Resin
Fig Count: 462
Scene Count: 31 (I already used this little scene before!)
Rating: Our favorite game

𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗞𝗜 𝗫 𝗚𝗡!𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥;
HESITANT ABOUT INTIMACY, UNSURE AND UNCERTAIN ;
So this is a personal headcanon, but playing off of his habits of profusely scratching at his skin, I like to think he suffers with the condition of eczema (or possibly contact dermatitis) specifically around the corners of his eyes, his inner hands, and his feet too actually (with the occasional flare ups in hot weather at times).
He’s aware, very much so, that it isn’t the most appealing thing to look at; the peeling skin, the discoloration around raw areas, split and hardened, the notable roughness that refuses to ease, even when layered with protective creams. He had been shamed and named for it in his childhood, and I think initially, he’d avoid any real contact, or rather position his hands specifically in a way where the condition would be least visible. A part of him doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable seeing it.
HEALTHCARE AND MAINTENANCE OF SKIN ;
Adding onto the above, although his breakouts can be of varying degrees, I like to think he does his best to take care of himself (I know more often than not, he’s pictured to not be looking himself properly, but, he’s doing it to the best of his abilities, with a little guidance from his local pharmacy, and occasionally recommended videos on his feed).
I guess this might be a little silly, but I do like to think he’s got two cabinets (one situated in the kitchen, and the other in the bathroom) specifically for treating his conditions, one stocked up full of antihistamines and the other full of emollients, to be smoothed across his skin as protection before showering/bathing from the heat. And with this, occasionally he’ll let slip a few tips and tricks of dealing with skin conditions (particularly anything you might be suffering with yourself). He also keeps his nails quite short, to avoid irritating his skin or mindlessly scratching at a small itch (which in some cases, has turned into a large area of raw skin).
APPRECIATES QUALITY TIME, AND PHYSICAL TOUCH ;
I imagine after becoming more and more comfortable in your presence, and knowing you hold no judgement towards his condition, he’d be the type to gently grasp you by your wrist, tugging you along before sliding his palm into your own, occasionally linking pinkies together at times. He’d lean towards being more quiet in your company more than anything, that’s not to say he isn’t comfortable whatsoever in your company to talk openly, but he feels more relaxed knowing that nothing needs to be shared between the pair of you to enjoy each other’s time spent together.
I do feel, one of his favourite pastimes with you when relaxing together (which would more often than not lead into unscheduled napping sessions) is you massaging his scalp, running your hands through his hair and combing out any small knots that your fingers catch on to. Specifically the stray hairs at the base of his neck, and hooking the strands around your fingers, curling them.
Alternatively, being the big spoon; his own hands would find themselves resting on your lower stomach, his chest pressed up against your back, and chin settled on your shoulder (paired with the optional choice of drifting off, watching a rented film on a small tablet or laptop).
KISSES ARE SHORT, BUT SWEET ;
I definitely feel he’s the type of person to leave soft kisses behind your ears, the corner of your lips, or firmly placed on the crown of your head, before brushing his nose against yours, eyelashes brushing against your cheeks. This, of course, is in a non-sexual environment, but the same sentiment is still shared in the heat of the moment, but with longing (the need to be closer and closer and closer) - which again, grows with his confidence over time. He’s not the best at conveying himself in such a romantic setting with words, so he opts instead for physical actions as a means to show you. Words don’t do it justice.

i saw your previous ask about keith's solo work and now i'm curious about your opinions on charlie's solo work! also, do you have any recommendations for charlie, i've only listened to from one charlie
If you discount session work (because Ronnie did a ton both before and after he joined the Stones), Charlie actually has the most extensive solo/non-Stones catalogue. It’s very diverse and I think the vast majority of it is very high quality.
So in terms of his session work, far and away his best contribution (that we know of - this isn’t even listed on his Wiki) was as the drummer for The London Howlin’ Wolf Sessions. He, Bill, Stu, Steve Winwood, and Eric Clapton acted as the backing band for Howlin’ Wolf on a Chess Records-Rolling Stones Records collaboration covering some of his most famous songs in 1971. For my money it’s one of Wolf’s best albums and showcases beautifully what a talented blues drummer Charlie was. He could have gone toe to toe with the old Chess guys like Fred Below if he wanted to.
It was only for one song, not an entire album, but he, Keith, and Ronnie were the backing band for Marianne Faithfull’s cover of “Ghost Dance” by Patti Smith in 1993:
Charlie was in a few non-Stones bands. Probably the most famous, although it’s really not terribly well known, is Rocket 88. The founding line-upwas Stu, Charlie, Alexis Korner, and Dick Morrissey and membership fluctuated during different projects and concerts during its active period (1978-1981). You can find a couple videos of their performances on YouTube, but their one released album, from a live concert in 1981, is really fantastic. Jack Bruce does bass and vocals on it and he and Charlie make an absolutely amazing rhythm section. 20x times better than anything he ever did with Wyman.
He was also associated with another boogie woogie band, The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie, which he didn’t co-found, but which he got into through Dave Green (his childhood best friend and the bass player for most of his solo work). That band also unfortunately only has one album, but there’s a lot more available on YouTube to enjoy because they were around in the early 2010s. This is my favorite song they covered:
youtube
It’s never been entirely explained how it came about, except that it was initially facilitated through one of his friends, the trumpeter Gerald Presencer, but Charlie did an album with the Danish Radio Big Band in 2010 that was released in 2017. The 7 tracks include 2 original compositions and 5 re-arranged Stones songs. Whoever did the arrangements and composition did a wonderful job and it’s great highlight of Charlie’s flexibility and originality as a drummer.
In the late 1980s, he and Keith did a cover of Charles Mingus’ “Don’t Let Them Drop That Bomb on Me”, it’s worth it just for the little documentary clips of the two of them, never mind the song itself, which is also well done:
youtube
That’s not everything Charlie ever did which wasn’t explicitly his own project, but it’s the highlights.
As far as his own bands/albums go, unfortunately his first album, Live At Fulham Town Hall (1986) isn’t available to stream, but you can find the tracks on YouTube and a neat little documentary/live performance clip:
youtube
(This would also be a good time to mention that there’s a beautiful, very high quality segment of Charlie playing a Duke Ellington composition on BBC4 in 2019 along with Dave and some American jazz musicians, as well as a cute little interview with the two of them after):
youtube
Everything that follows that album, with one exception, is a variation on The Charlie Watts Quintet, the group which appears on 1990’s From One Charlie to Another:
The biggest difference between his jazz albums, other than the number of players (it tended to range between a quartet, a quintet, and a tenet), is whether or not they have a vocalist. The last one, Watts at Scott’s (2004) is the one which does not and it’s a mixture of original compositions (generally written by his pianist Brian Lemon) and covers of jazz standards, including Ellington’s “A Train”:
1991’s A Tribute to Charlie Parker with Strings is a really neat, original project. It has Bernard Fowler narrating the story of Parker’s life through Charlie’s book about him from the ‘60s and covers songs which were on Parker’s own With Strings album as well as original compositions like “Terra de Pajaro.” There is one song “Lover Man”, which has vocals provided by Bernard, the rest is purely instrumental. Pete King was the saxophonist for all of Charlie’s jazz projects and he absolutely kills it on this album.
The two albums which really showcase his collaboration with Bernard and his skills as an accompanist to a vocalist, Warm & Tender (1993) and Long Ago & Far Away (1996), are lovely collections of jazz standards and standouts from the Great American Songbook. I love them both, I think which one you want to listen to just depends on your mood. The second album is definitely more melancholy:
It also has Charlie’s only solo music video, for “I’ve Got a Crush on You”, which is gorgeous and good humored:
youtube
The weirdest album in Charlie’s oeuvre, to put it bluntly, is the Charlie Watts/Jim Keltner Project (1999). It’s very avant garde, probably the most purely creative but also least accessible thing he ever did. The album was made at the same time the Stones were recording Bridges to Babylon, so Mick and Keith pop up on two different tracks (separately), but the bulk is Charlie, Jim Keltner, and a few other percussionists who contributed bits and pieces. It’s a world music-jazz-techno-beats melange of original pieces, some of which were inspired by the work of certain jazz drummers and some of which are more entirely abstract. To be honest it’s not really something you can describe, you sort of just have to listen and see if it’s your thing.

For those who can't see the screenshot post, for whatever reason it may be:
@sillyrookie posted:
Ok, since @hairiclilred asked, I'll start my dumb rant.
Over here in the US, the videogame market fell off a cliff in 1983 due to a reckless oversaturated market flooded with low quality dreck that killed player interest. So many unsold Atari games ended up filling landfills.
Revenue dropped by 97%. It was catastrophic. Videogames died in America for a couple years due to short-sighted business decisions by major corporations.
The American market was revitalized when Nintendo came over and instituted limits to third parties to keep quality up, while also ensuring that quality was their brand. America only has a video game market today because of Nintendo.
I think the current environment of constant remakes, mergers, layoffs, diminishing returns on blockbuster products, and corps thinking they can use "AI" to regurgitate their once valuable IP will cause a similar crash.
What I find interesting is how many classic IP will end up dying in the wake of this.
At the moment so many distinguished studios with established IP are getting bought up by corps, only to lay off the workers and shutter the studios.
The workers don't just lose their jobs, they lose the IP they created. Even if the team can regroup, they can't use the stuff they made anymore. The IP dies with the studio.
So stuff like this makes me feel like we're right at the brink of a collapse that will kill ALOT of once profitable IP when audiences are made sick and tired of alot of stuff they used to love.
These IP owners don't understand the products they own, the workers that make it, and the audience that buy it; and many in the c-suite have actual contempt for all three things.
When an IP stops being profitable, corps shut it down, lock it away unless somebody has the capital to buy it from them.
The only thing they understand is that an old movie made by humans generated billions of profits for them because an audience enjoyed it, and instead of taking new risks it's "better" business short term to just rehash the stuff that made money before. And if they expect "generative AI" to make more content even faster, expect a sea of endless remakes, each shittier than the last one.
Things are bad now, and they're gonna get way worse real fast.
I expect a cultural massacre. What does that look like?
It's obviously a different world today than the 1980s, but Nintendo's core business ideology has stayed consistent, and they'll weather a AAA crash with no problem because they don't play the AAA space at all.
They make a sustainable lower-tech console that's sold at a profit (the traditional model before the Wii was to make a powerful console and sell it at a loss so that you made your money on software sales) and their brand still means quality even 40 years later. Not every game they do is amazing, but their batting average is high and they go out of their way to avoid dropping anything half-baked.
I think every other industry is gonna need their own Nintendos to rise from the ashes. The more I learned about the history of the industry, the more respect I have for them.
And they are NOT perfect. But it the broad strokes they're the example I think most should follow to have a sustainable industry that keeps everyone happy.
Heck, I'll define "everyone happy:"
Artists properly paid, having job security, and able to BE creative.
Players having quality games to enjoy.
Businesses being sustainable for the long term, properly using the revenue from successes to experiment with new ideas, and not screwing anyone over.
[Image: Sonic saying "I WANT SHORTER GAMES WITH WORSE GRAPHICS MADE BY PEOPLE WHO ARE PAID MORE TO WORK LESS AND I'M NOT KIDDING".]
If the collapse I'm imagining does actually happen, the only possible thing to grow out of it are new IP from all the artists that got laid off.
New stuff would be the only things coming out for a while and the only things people want if the big franchises burned them out.
Depending on how audience sentiment is by that point, public domain stuff might become suspect as well, which is also an interesting scenario to me.
I think about how the current remake ecosystem is targeted at millennials (which I am) while the pendulum is already set to swing in the other direction.
Sorry for not talking about this part first. 😂
74% of that survey wants new stuff. The major IP holders are about to commit suicide if they go through with the "AI will make us 30 remakes per second" scheme.
One thing I hope DOESN'T happen is a backlash against honesty in the creative process.
We were culturally at a point where the average joe could understand that new ideas don't come from nowhere and are all mutations of old ideas.
Game of Thrones exists because Lord of the Rings came first, which owes it's existence to Norse myth and Beowulf, ect ect.
We're at the point where youtubers make games out of seeing what a song sampled from, the references a movie made, on and on.
But right now a popular spiel from "AI" charlatans to justify IP theft is the assertion that there's no difference between stealing copyrighted media for an LLM to regurgitate and a human being inspired by the ideas and experience they felt from another creator's work and creating a new thing under the established rules of copyright. It's a lie, but it keeps getting repeated to justify theft.
As the scam cycle winds down, I think they might be poisoning the discourse in a lasting way. We could go back to people lying about how ideas work, and that has only negative effects on human expression as a whole.
I want a world where everyone understands the difference between inspiration and a ripoff and can appreciate human creation better than previous generations have. We were right there before the scammers showed up.
So yeah, another rant out of me. 😂
So when people want new IP, they also need to understand what it means that Dragonball was a goofy parody of Journey to the West.
Dragonball is alot of things, it's inspirations are loud and obvious (even the Terminator is in there), but it's also a unique work created through the mind of one talented individual that nobody else could have made, because nobody else was Akira Toriyama, and ALL the subsequent works inspired by Dragonball (One Piece, Naruto, Hero Academia, Sonic the Hedgehog, ect) are their own original works that stand on their own, but still owe their existence to Toriyama's work as much as he owes his work to the things that inspired him.
The best ecosystem is where everyone encourages new IP and also fully understands how they come into being.
(Using this example for obvious reasons.)
Discord Post Reaction: [☝️ 1]
To go back to the topic of videogames, Toys for Bob recently made themselves layoff proof by going full independent.
With the level and volume of world class talent being laid off in the industry, I think we'll see more and more indy teams pop up if they can organize the means to do so.
There is too much high pedigree talent out there right now to just disappear or eventually go back to the people that screwed them over. The current ecosystem allows smaller teams and projects to flourish.
I am 100% down for an industry with less games like Immortals of Aveum and WAY more games like Pizza Tower.

Cora Watches: The Way She Moves (2001)
Hello friendos! Today, in this random series no one asked for, we tackle a 2001 movie made for VH1, which I would describe as the love child of Dirty Dancing and She's All That. I've been watching X-Files season 9, spiraling in Doggett/Reyes (see here). This movie not only stars Annabeth Gish, it aired within months of X-Files season 9.
The Rookie fans: that's Kamar de los Reyes, aka Detective Caradine, as the male lead.
Let me whet your appetites. Here are the ending credits. Just drink it in:
youtube
Fun fact: this was hard to track down. It's not streaming and didn't get a US DVD release. So the copy I watched was not the best video quality, and it's a Polish overdub (I do not speak Polish). Not voice actors. It's just one (1) dude saying the lines in Polish over top of the English. ngl, it added entertainment value.
AG's early career cast her multiple times as the classic Good Girl: sweet, innocent, naive, kind of shy. This movie does the same. She plays Amie, a sweet-tempered office worker with a Wealthy Bland WASP-y Fiance and two Zany Gal Pals, as is law in a romcom. Amie likes photography, and if you don't think this movie will give her the chance to embrace life for real instead of hiding behind her camera, well, you have not been paying attention.
Tumblr media
Her girlfriends give her and Bland Fiance salsa dance lessons as a gift, hoping they'll "loosen up" before the wedding. When Amie and Bland Fiance walk into the studio, they see a Sexy Salsa Group dancing a routine, and Amie is amazed. Whoa. Who knew dancing could be sexy?
Tumblr media
Annabeth Gish does a reasonable job pretending to have two left feet; you better believe she steps on someone's feet within 60 seconds of the beginners' class starting. It's adorable.
Bland Fiance, who does Business, gets a Business Job offer to do Very Business in NYC, so he zips off and tells Amie, sorry babe, have fun in those dance classes without me. I have to go do Business.
And how convenient: Hunky Obvious Romantic Lead breaks up with the woman who was both his dance partner and girlfriend. She decides to bait him, tells him he can't train a new dance partner. He takes the bet, they see Amie awkwardly doing basic steps nearby, and Ex says Okay, train her, then. Yes, exactly like She's All That.
So now Amie is getting personal lessons? Just like that? She just goes with it, a little confused that Hunky Dancer is suddenly totally focused on her (meanwhile, her Zany Gal Pals are all eyebrows). Hunky Dancer has her meet him at a salsa club to give her a chance to learn in context. She shows up in one of the many super, super adorable dresses she'll wear in this movie. I have real wardrobe envy.
Tumblr media
Hunky Dancer was hoping she'd relax seeing everyone around her having a good time. But oh nooooooo the dancing is so SEXY and she is so SHY.
Luckily, Hunky Dancer is really nice about it. He takes her back to the studio so they can practice alone, no pressure, and she can kick off her shoes.
Tumblr media
We have the first of many montages. Amie and Hunky Dancer practice! She's getting better! This is where I realized that Annabeth Gish is actually a good dancer. She and Hunky Dancer end up leading a little studio get-together, and everyone is dancing and attractive and having a great time.
They step outside for some air, and... can you believe this... they kiss.
Tumblr media
Amie panics and walks away, leaving Hunky Dancer feeling guilty. The next day she explains to him that she's actually engaged (she had briefly lost her ring, then decided not to wear it in front of him, so he'd never seen her wearing one).
After some deep thought, Amie dumps Bland Fiance.
Tumblr media
She goes back to dance lessons, and if you don't think that means another montage, well. Try to keep up.
Tumblr media
And yes, the inevitable happens. Amie hooks up with Hunky Dance Man, in a very tasteful basic-cable-TV-movie, fade-to-black love scene.
Tumblr media
There is another montage. This time, they're going around the city, taking each other's pictures and just generally being cute. Everything seems perfect, right?
PSYCH!
At a big fun picnic, Amie again looks adorable.
Tumblr media
But at this picnic, Amie finds out that Hunky Dancer's Ex actually dared him to partner with her (as @mylittleredgirl pointed out: "am I a bet? am I a fucking bet?"), and she's very hurt, because we need some kind of conflict in our movie, because that's how movies work. Also, there is a Big Dance Event, and it is conveniently on the same day her wedding is/was scheduled. Amie very gently tells Hunky Dancer to take his old dance partner back.
Buckle up, because this is where we leave the rails.
-So I guess Amie is just... engaged again? Just like that?
-Amie's mom stops her just outside the ceremony and tells her to follow her heart and marry for love, not money
-as she walks down the aisle with her brother, Amie experiences her own mental montage, thinking about all the great times with Hunky Dancer and the many times he's been shirtless and brawny
-she bolts. just turns around, mid-aisle, and hightails it out
-oh, did I mention that her brother is a firefighter? Because he is. So Amie hops onto the fire truck in full wedding gown and veil and they drive over to Dance Event
-Amie kicks off her shoes, loses the veil, and joins the dance team onstage for the Big Final Dance, which she knows perfectly, even though she stopped going to rehearsals
And here's the final shot:
Tumblr media
Do I recommend this?: Honestly, yes. It's ridiculous but it's so fun. Of course, you might have to watch a blurry Polish overdub like I did, so keep that in mind. This is a giant ball of cheese, but I love cheese, and Annabeth Gish is so adorable, you can't help wanting to hug her.
What did we learn from this movie?
Be Yourself™
Follow Your Heart™
Feel the Music™
have an endless supply of cute halter dresses
Works for me.
