Hiiiiiiiiiii :3
I'm sitting here enjoying a delicious Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider, and I decided I should stick to what I said last time and post more often. So here's a new post! Since the last one I watched Oppenheimer at the theater, but I don't think it was an IMAX showing or anything. I thought it was perfectly paced (the 3 hour runtime didn't feel like it dragged at all), I thought the non-chronological structure flowed very well, and the soundtrack was very nice. The performances were all very good, especially Cillian Murphy, and the only criticism that really comes to my mind is some sort of clumsy writing (can't remember a whole lot of specific examples, but I remember some times where I rolled my eyes). Anyway, incredible movie, easy recommendation for anyone who likes dramatic movies with some political commentary. So, as I mentioned in my last subpost, I might talk a little bit about synchromysticism, but I'm going to assume, since I'm not totally "in the zone" as far as my writing right now, my analysis may end up a little anemic, and so I may talk a little bit more in my next post if I feel like elaborating on some stuff. Now: while my feelings on belief and spirituality are pretty strongly positive, I don't have many spiritual beliefs myself, or at least not many I feel confident enough about to say I'm assured of my belief. I would say I believe more in synchromysticism than most other spiritual ideas, at least as I see it. It's sort of like fate, but not entirely? It's the general idea that coincidence, mundane happenings, have spiritual significance. I tend to think of it more as "mundane happenings can have spiritual causes". It's a pretty broad idea, you *could* interpret it as fate, karma, or a sort of literary bent to the universe, or you could take it to mean something more actively magical, the idea that will and belief are able to change the physical world. I often end up thinking about what Peter J. Carrol, one of the founders of the Chaos Magic tradition, said about synchromysticism, that "... an event in the material world... can always be excused as a coincidence, but most magicians would be quite content with being able to arrange coincidences." While I can't remember if this is from Mage the Awakening from the Chronicles of Darkness series of Tabletop RPGs, or if its from Mage the Ascension of the World
of Darkness series, I tend to borrow the terminology of "vulgarity"; something like creating fire or an object from nothing is vulgar magic that cannot be explained otherwise, while synchromystical magic is non-vulgar, the usage of spiritual means to interrupt the natural flow of events to effect a desired result. The hypothetical synchromystical spell does not appear incredible or even impossible, it appears as if nothing has happened besides one's desires. I consider myself especially lucky in most circumstances, but I have at times characterized it as a strength of will sufficient to synchromystically influence events to my favor. It's a little ridiculous, but I don't mind it I guess; I think believing in ridiculous things just makes things more fun :3 Anyway, I'm running out of steam here. I may talk more about this stuff, but also maybe not, I couldn't say. I'll probably be much more brief, that's for sure. See you around!

What if I made a whole post about Blaze
Wouldn't it be funny if I did that?
Blaze MyStreet (that's his name now) is the gayest character in the entire aphverse and I am tired of him being slept on. That's not to say that people don't like Blaze, they do. He was a popular character, but not in the way other characters are popular. It's hard to find other people who have him as a favorite character, and if you're a fan of Minecraft Diaries, most people forgot he was in that series because he was in like an episode of Season 3 and even I forgot about Season 3 outside of that. He's liked, but not in the way people can really latch onto characters in this series. More passively liked, because it's really hard to hate him.
And even in MyStreet, his ultimate conclusion is just bad. It's bad. I don't have any other words for it, it just sucks. Blaze being mind controlled and then killed off right before the finale was just unnecessary. It didn't add anything. This season had already implied to kill Melissa, and made it clear it wasn't afraid to kill off characters. There was no reason to do this other than to keep people hooked and make them have an emotional reaction to the episode.
And it worked! Most of the times I look up Blaze fanart, I find art of him as an angel, or in heaven with another character, or just art of him dying. And I don't object to making fanart out of these moments it just... it sucks opening his wiki and seeing "Status: Deceased" every time. It sucks going to find content of this character only to find a majority of it is just angst around a death I've actively tried to forget.
SO LET'S TALK ABOUT WHY BLAZE IS THE BEST CHARACTER IN MYSTREET AND WHY YOU SHOULD ALL (yes even you) GIVE HIM MORE LOVE AND ATTENTION
Did you guys know Blaze is canonically not straight and probably polyamorus? That isn't my headcanons, that's in the text. Sure it's all in mini-games, but the mini-games are supplemental material to the canon work, and when Blaze gets so little actual character work, I am unashamed to pull from these sources. And in these sources Blaze has stated that he is very much one of the fruits.
In one mini-game Aaron says "You can't marry two people Blaze, you know that!" And Blaze's response is "I do?"
[vine boom]
Tumblr media
In another that I am rationally normal about, Aphmau stumbles in on Blaze with his head on Garroth's lap in a closet, WHILE THEY ARE UNDER MISTLETOE! And Blaze says "Your thighs are soft" while Garroth comments on how soft his hair is?!
[vine boom]
Tumblr media
And this is all in tandem with the fact that he at the very least canonically had a thing for Dottie, and it's very easy to say he might have harbored feelings for Daniel, Rylan, OR Aaron
[vine boom]
Tumblr media
So, we've established Blaze as one of them queers, this is great. Aphmau series really struggle with having gay characters at all, let alone good ones, but there's a quality queer character just sitting right there! Blaze is charming, funny, doesn't take up more space than he needs, and while it isn't in the test of MyStreet, I'll take what I can get. And he only gets better from here!
Wanna add drugs and stoner stuff to your next rewrite? Blaze is literally RIGHT THERE!! He's been around since Phoenix Drop High, and his birthday is literally April 20th, the writers are not being subtle about it. And in MCD, he's technically been around as a misspelled name since episode 40, and if you're making a rewrite, just add him in sooner.
Oh, you want Aaron to have a bigger support system that isn't just Aphmau in earlier seasons? Blaze and the werewolf pups are right there and would totally all live together in a house on My Street or Lover's Lane! Just saying! You want these characters to have a vector to explore polyamory? Blaze is basically an open book and very much agrees with the "a friend of Aaron/anyone else is a friend of mine" and would be willing to share his experiences. You want someone for characters to confide in that they normally wouldn't under normal circumstances? Blaze loves getting high and having vent sessions neither of them will fully remember in the morning.
And if we take it to MCD, he can provide a lot of this and more. Fleshing out of the werewolf experience, an actual werewolf that's at least closer to a part of the main cast than any other ones, AND you get to have him smoking out the other characters. Why wouldn't you make MCD Blaze the inventor of the first bong in Ru'aun? Literally why wouldn't you do that? What reason do you have not to do that? That's objectively great.
Blaze is a character who easily lends himself well to comedy and emotional scenes by being vulnerable all the time, and having the ability to bring levity when needed. He knows when you need to just scream into a pillow, or when he needs to pass you a joint and put a movie on in the background. There's not a lot given for him, but enough to build a solid character out of. He's stated to have an extended family, and a lot of siblings. He was probably the oldest one and had to help raise them, and would easily be able to empathize with older siblings in this show, especially ones who may have had to take care of a younger sibling while growing up due to absent parents (cough cough Melissa).
He also stood up to bullies for Daniel and was willing to make enemies with his entire pack, even his Alpha, just to make sure Daniel wouldn't get hurt or harassed. He's fiercely loyal and absolutely willing to throw hands at a moments notice for the right reason. It doesn't take a lot to make Blaze a ride or die friend, you just have to not be a dickhead and show that you're actually a decent person. He's very sociable and outgoing, a bit of a loudmouth, but he's got a good heart and generally gets along with anyone you could think to pair him up with.
I'm serious, send me a character and I will tell you how they could have a beautiful friendship/romance/something else with them and how it fleshes out both their characters. Blaze just does that by being around people. I'm serious. Please do this.
I didn't make an Instagram account in 2018 titled "Blaze_Best_Werewolf" (or something like that) with a self-made profile picture of Blaze wearing a flower crown and actively get in fights with people over MyStreet season 6 for my boy to be slept on in this manner.

hiiii what are ur thots on the megaversal system? i’m currently in the midst of hyperfixation revival for TMNT, and i found there’s a TMNT rpg from ‘85 that uses that system, as well as one called ‘after the bomb’ that i think is a more open-ended version? (like not limited to just post-nuclear NYC jsgskdh)
the lifelong, childhood fan in me is like MUST HAVE ALL TMNT CONTENT while the Grown Adult is like. homie the chances of this rpg book from the 80’s being something you’ll actually enjoy reading/making a character for are Very Low
also there is not a lot out there abt this game jsgskdh like there was a pretty popular kickstarter last year, but the funding period ended so no luck there rly, and from one of the reviews i saw, they liked the world building/story side of things, but would’ve preferred the gurps system… which i am also unfamiliar with 🫣 oh and the game is called ‘teenage mutant ninja turtles & other strangeness’ if ur interested at all jsgskdh
but yeah do u think the megaversal system is like. approachable for newcomers to rpgs in general? i’m familiar w 5e, blades in the dark, and kids on brooms, but looking at all the unfamiliar terminology for megaversal is. intimidating 🤧
(also totally feel free to ignore this if it’s like way too much info to look into jsgskdh i do not want to take up your time 🫡)
okay, so I haven't actually played any Megaversal System games, but I am familiar with their reputation. Based on what I've heard the games that utilize it (RIFTS, Palladium Fantasy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness, Heroes Unlimited, and After the Bomb [which is basically the TMNT RPG but with the licensing removed once they lost the license]) are barely functional but have a strange charm to them! One of my favorite podcasts, System Mastery, are intimately familiar with the system and hearing them describe it is always a blast. If you want to learn about the games from two really funny guys for whom those games were a formative experience, I recommend checking them out!
So anyway those games are apparently pretty wild. I think they're decipherable by relative newcomers if you're willing to accept a bit of extremely eighties design. I don't know how much of that will be rectified in the upcoming rerelease. But don't take my word for it, because the internet is a beautiful place and with a little bit of digging on your local free-rpg-pdfs-legally-i-swear dot gov slash co dot uk you should be able to find PDFs of the original game
But now is when I yap about a completely different but related game, because as it happens game designer Julian Kay's first RPG as a child was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness, and as an adult Julian decided to make an homage to that game called Mutants in the Now. Now, unlike Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness I have actually read Mutants in the Now, and what I can say based on simply reading it is that it is a fantastically written RPG with a lot of love for its subject matter and the game system actually seems functional! The character creation system is wild, consisting mostly of rolling on random tables to discover who your character is, and the actual game system owes a lot to 13th Age (a modern D&D clone that Julian has written for and that is actually pretty dang good!) in addition to the Megaversal System. There's a few quirks that are mostly there out of homage to the Megaversal System to my knowledge (skills are d100 roll under, while combat pretty much works like any ol' D&D with d20 rolls to hit and various types of dice for damage) but ultimately it is a very coherent system.
Anyway the presentation in Mutants in the Now was so strong I immediately ordered it and its supplement Mutants in the Next, and I don't have a single regret about my purchase. I actually liveblogged the (admittedly intensive) character creation process. You can find them if you look under the tag #mutants in the making. Now Mutants in the Now is slightly more complex than 5e, but most of the complexity is front-loaded into character creation. The gameplay is about on par with 5e in terms of complexity.
Anyway I'm not sure how helpful that is but it at least gave me a chance to gush about one of the coolest games I've discovered during the last year. If you're interested in a game with actual TMNT branding I recommend looking into the original game if you can find it before you make any decisions or wait for word from Kickstarter backers about the revised edition whether it's good or bad. But, like, Mutants in the Now is also there if you're not too particular about the branding and just want to play cool mutant animals and enjoy random character creation where you get to really experience finding out who your character is during the process of creation.

(Old ranking - go to my blog for updated rankings)
My rankings/reviews of all the k dramas I have seen so far (up to 18 now).
I’ve got 3 new kdramas, one I loved, one that bored me but had a killer OST, and one that was pretty cringe. I bolded the new dramas. I also changed the order of some of my old rankings as I remember some dramas more fondly than others as time goes by. I would recommend any drama I gave a C grade or higher.
1) Hometown Cha Cha Cha: It’s an absolute masterpiece and delight. I want to live in that fictional community forever. Grade: A+(Netflix)
2) Her Private Life: Super funny and charming. The romantic leads have incredible chemistry. The premise is so good! Might be the most rewatchable of all the k dramas I’ve seen so far. Grade: A (Netflix)
3) Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung: Great strong female lead. Very good messages. Couldn’t stop watching. The most adorable prince I’ve ever seen 💜Cha Eunwoo💜 Grade: A (Netflix)
4)Business Proposal: I bumped this up cause it’s been a minute but I can’t stop thinking about this drama. It’s got every trope you can think of and it does them all to perfection. It’s so good and will make you feel all the good feels. Can someone please give me another rec that’s like this drama? I need those good feels in my life again. Grade: A (Netflix)
5)Sh**ting Stars: Probable the biggest turnaround of any show I’ve seen (The “Africa” part was so bad - who thought that was ok?). Thankfully the show did a total 180 and quickly became one of my all time favorites. If you at all are interested in the world of celebrities and want to laugh, then swoon, then cry, then swoon again, I think you’ll really like it. I loved every single supporting character. All of their storylines were incredibly interesting. Plus it really makes you examine yourself as a fan and how you view/treat celebrities. One of the funniest and swooniest KDramas out there. Grade: A- (Viki)
6)Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: The main couple is absolutely everything! Just fast forward through pretty much every side plot (they are not important) and you’ll love it. Grade: A- (Viki)
7)So I Married the Anti-Fan: It’s campy, fluffy, goodness, with a fierce female lead and a K-pop star enemy/love interest. Fastest binge of my life. Grade: A- (Viki)
8)Start-Up: Exceptional acting, compelling storylines, intriguing plot twists, great cinematography, intense love triangle. It’s just all around high quality. Grade: B+ (Netflix)
9)Run On: Cute, fun, silly and pretty light. I especially loved the supporting cast. Strange storyline but it was a fun easy ride. Grade: B+ (Netflix)
10)Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo: A bad-ass yet vulnerable female lead. The main couple just had a lot of fun together. Refreshing. Grade: B+ (Viki)
11)Touch Your Heart: If you can just stick it out through the first few very shaky episodes, you will enjoy this adorable series. Grade: B (Netflix)
12)Doom at Your Service: It was sometimes real sad yet ultimately a heart warming mystical story. Grade: B (Viki)
13)What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: it felt a bit formulaic at times but the main couple has great chemistry and the supporting cast are hilarious. Grade: B- (Viki)
14)True Beauty: I recently bumped this drama up because its actually aged well in my memory. However, it’s a little too much of an antsy teen drama for my taste. Cha Eunwoo though💜 Grade: C (Viki)
15)Crash Landing On You: The first half is GREAT but the second half is way too melodramatic for my taste. It’s a very interesting storyline, the main couple has insane chemistry, and there are very lovable side characters. Grade: C (Netflix)
16)My Secret Romance: I just kept thinking, “He’s awful. This is abuse of power! The mind games! Such in inappropriate boss behavior. Everything he says is gaslighting. Run the other way girl! So many red flags. Was this filmed on an iPhone 6?” But I also kept thinking, “Why can’t I stop watching this? He’s so pretty. They have great chemistry. This is problematic yet fun?” So 🤷‍♀️ Grade: D+ (Netflix)
17)Our Beloved Summer: V’s “Christmas Tree” OST was my favorite part of this drama. It always set the mood perfectly and made me momentary forget how bored I was with this drama. I realize that this is a very good critically acclaimed drama but to me it felt like it was basically about two people who were in love but inexplicably broke up and follows their lives as they start to call each other but then decide not to, over and over and over again. If you like more “deep” dramas you’ll probably like it but I’m simple minded I guess. Grade: D+ (Netflix)
18)Goblin: The age gap is too disturbing for me, like call the police disturbing. The only redeeming part for me was the Grim Reaper who is one of the most adorable characters I’ve ever seen. He saved it from totally failing for me. Grade: D- (Viki)
Currently Watching: Fight For My Way (and loving it)
What are your thoughts on these shows? Do you agree or disagree with my rankings? I’m kinda at a loss about what I should watch next. Thoughts? Is there a Business Proposal/ Sh**ting Stars type show out there that I haven’t watched yet? I have a list of shows to watch but I just want a high quality, light, campy, funny, swoony, easy to watch, show.

Give us thoughts about Anastasia! Her movie is so interesting to me, since it's both a romcom and semi-Disney film without being Disney.
I think her movie is incredible! Anastasia is a character I love, and I wrote her at a time, but I think the movie is ultimately in my mid-tier. This is through no fault of its own though! I just really dislike Rasputin (and not in a love to hate way or hating him in a way you should hate a villain, I just genuinely can't stomach watching him) and I don't fully connect with Anastasia, because she isn't a very feminine character. I also didn't really fall in love with Dimitri as a lead, he always felt like a neighborhood boy to me lol but, again, the movie does everything incredibly well so it's more so that it just isn't my vibe as opposed to something being wrong with it?
But I think Anastasia has an INCREDIBLE wardrobe- on tier with Tiana, probably even better! I think she has an intriguing voice that I really like, might be one of my favorites, and she's so funny and endearing to me. I wish the film had more women- I know the grandmother is in it, but I always felt like Anastasia gave off "one of the guys" vibes, and most of the screentime is her with Vlad and Dimitri or Rasputin, so looking back on it, that could've been another detractor for me...but I really love the soundtrack and Pooka is so cute! I had a doll of her peasant look with the locket and Pooka as a child and I remember being sad about it because my favorite look of hers was the Once Upon a December dress with the ponytail! This was before eBay though, and well after they started selling the doll in stores, so I just made my peace with having the look I liked least lol that being said, I actually do like that look now and the ponytail that magically transforms into like four times its length when it's taken down haha like most people, it definitely lead me down a historical rabbit-hole as a child (I'm still convinced Anastasia survived even though other people swear up and down she didn't, but that's another story) but the more and more I learned about the Romanovs and their tragic tale, it was more eerie and off-putting and genuinely terrifying than intriguing? And I'm used to more haunting historical tales- like I always loved learning about Anne Boleyn, but there was just something about learning about the Romanovs that always made me slightly uncomfortable and I think that carries through to the movie and any of the research I've done on Anna Anderson (don't even get me started on the later years of her life omg) so, again, totally charming movie with a totally charming premise and characters and I'd give it a grade of an A+ but sometimes some things are just not meant for you and I feel that way about this movie? I love it any time I get to watch it but I never actively think about it and it doesn't cross my mind very often.

2023 drama year in review
Okay, this year I'm really late. But better late than never, right?
Joining the pantheon of my favorites:
The Glory--The highs of this drama made me feel like I'd taken a hit of whatever not-found-in-nature strain of pot Sa Ra was on.
Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san--Sweet, heart-warming, gentle. Its kindness made me cry!
Revenant--Just a satisfying, scary, sad, immaculately produced, wonderfully acted ghost story. In terms of sheer quality it may be the drama of the year.
Quite good:
Bad Mom--I loved how complex the character dynamics were here and wish the show would have gone more in-depth into them? Like, this mother gave her son an eating disorder (and was overall incredibly emotionally abusive), and by the end all is forgiven. Mi Joo hides from Kang Ho that he is a father, telling their kids all sorts of lies about their dad, and ultimately everything's okay and they're going to live happily ever after (we didn't even get the scene of them telling the kids, which was truly all I wanted). I'm glad for these characters that love was able to triumph over everything for them, but the genuine darkness of the beginning (especially that first episode, yikes!) primed me for something that was perhaps a bit more messy that this ultimately was. Still, a really enjoyable watch.
The Matchmakers--This one snuck up on me! Fun, funny, and disarmingly sweet.
Moon in the Day--Persuasively makes the argument that dating a corpse reanimated by a 1500-year-old ghost is a great life choice.
Moving--A great show about how dads are hot. I can't believe I spent the whole show waiting for JIS to be reunited with his family and meet his grown up son and the minute he does the camera zooms out and that's it and we see nothing.
My Dearest--"How much amnesia is too much?" is, it would seem, a question this writer has never asked. And yet, it was still pretty incredible. I just wish the last few episodes had lived up to everything that came before.
Perfect Marriage Revenge--I love a drama that knows exactly what it is and is determined to have fun with it.
Not bad:
Crash Course in Romance--There's simply nothing better than grown-up romance. And nothing worse than pointless serial killer plots.
The Forbidden Marriage--Ridiculously charming when it didn't pretend to care about the plot.
My Lovely Liar--"Spoiler" really was a banger.
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract--Poor Joseon Tae Ha really got a raw deal, huh?
WHY??!?!?
Joseon Attorney--I liked the part where the king decided to kill WDH's sister and never apologized for it and everybody, including WDH, was totally cool with it.
Lady Durian--Every episode was an out of body experience in terms of pure, glorious weirdness.
Our Blooming Youth--Every episode felt very long and yet also like nothing had happened. Which is also what the drama felt like.
Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3--So bad. So dumb. But Kim Sabu continues to have a smile that keeps me coming back for more.
Secret Romantic Guesthouse--It's certainly a bold choice to have your male lead be your least compelling character and performance. Kang Hoon is a star and a half and it's time for him level out of supporting roles.
See You in My 19th Life--It was okay (SHS great as always), but once I read the synopsis of the webtoon, I couldn't understand why that wasn't the plot of the drama.

Disclaimer: List is due to change over time as new things are learned about each character.
Bias|Favorites
Ultimate Bias: Felix of the Volturi
He is TALL.
He has very little scenes in the books/movies but the back story I’ve given him and literally just my own story of him has made me very attached to him.
I also love Daniel Cudmore as Felix and I am perpetually Dead^TM.
Cannot help but to love fictional homicidal men.
Edward Cullen
Edward (and Bella) call to my BPD/bipolar so fucking hard. I understand the obsession. The mania. The self hatred. The lack of confidence in someone loving you because you don’t feel “good enough”.
Love the vigilante vampire side story. Homicidal? Check. Justified killings? Double check. Love it. Living for it.
Leah Clearwater
An absolute badass.
She deserved much better.
Demetri of the Volturi
In the books he’s also Tall.
In the movies he’s very charming and funny (i.e. shoving Felix to hoard food).
I feel very sorry for him since Aro literally kidnapped him from Amun’s coven.
Emmett Cullen
Everyone’s fave himbo.
Felt very protective of Bella as a brother very early on (Midnight Sun describes this during driving away from the baseball scene).
Marcus of the Volturi
His entire life was ruined by Aro and I feel so sorry for him.
He had the greatest love of all time and it was ripped from him.
Is absolutely done with everything and is ready to die at any moment. Mood.
Jane and Alec
Literally just two innocent children.
Aro also basically ruined their life and turned them without their consent (afaik).
Forcefully bound and kept content by Aro.
So much pity for them. My children.
Paul
Anger issues. Same.
Have you seen him?
Indifferent
Alice Cullen
Continuously and borderline obnoxiously tries to force Bella into her own picture of femininity.
Literally is okay with loving a non-repentant Confederate soldier.
She is nice but just kind of rubs me the wrong way ig.
Carlisle Cullen
Created his own “family” without any consent from them as they lay dying.
Sam Uley
Seems like a hardass, but was probs just trying to be a leader and do what was best.
Esme Cullen
She is wholesome but not my cup of tea.
Some motherly figures make me feel weird because mine is dead lmao.
The Pack
Unnamed members above and below go here, just no reason to like or dislike them.
The Denali Coven
I understand where Irina comes from. Kate is pretty cool ig. Tanya is alright. Eleazar and Carmen are hot af. I just don’t feel any certain way for the whole clan.
Anti|Non Favorites
Ultimate Anti: Jacob Black
Imprinting on a child; Smeyers writing imprinting as how wolves “find their mate”, and the “future” Alice saw in the movie of them acting kind of romantic to each other has made me have a very vile taste for Jacob Black. Pre-wolf Jacob? Totally cool. Post-wolf Jacob? Absolute fucking incel.
Aro of the Volturi
Aro doesn’t “recruit”, he straight up kidnaps. He uses Chelsea and Corin’s powers to remove vampires he wants from covens they’re in and ties them to him for ultimate loyalty. He killed his own sister, Didyme, because he didn’t want Marcus to leave as he and Didyme were mated and wanted to dip from the Volturi. Aro is enslaving and kidnapping vampires on the reg.
Caius of the Volturi
He is the only member of the Volturi that Aro has not forced to stay. Caius stays on his own, he only uses Corin’s ability to cure his boredom when he isn’t committing mass murder or punishing lawbreakers.
Rosalie Cullen (Hale)
Supreme Bitch for literally no reason.
Pro-lifer.
Treats Bella like absolute garbage and almost gets her own brother killed because “Bella I eNvY yOu”
Rene
Was never a real mother to Bella, Bella had to mother her.
Selfish.
Just annoying and a terrible person lol.
Charlie Swan
Didn’t do anything in the movie when Jacob kissed Bella without consent. In the book, he praised Jacob for kissing Bella.
ACAB.
Jasper Cullen (Hale)
I only put him here because he’s a Confederate soldier with no remorse.
Probably a racist.
Quil
Also imprinted on a child.

Barry: you're charming (4x03)
You know you've got something special when the sight of a man dangling dead from a bunch of cords out of the ceiling can make you... laugh? This show is fucking weird.
Cons:
I feel like the part of this show I've always had the hardest part connecting with is the part that's actually about acting and the world of Hollywood. There were a lot of things I liked about Sally's scenes as a teacher. I liked that she repeated Cousineau's tactics and seemingly got a genuine reaction out of an aspiring actor, only to be told by everyone else that her behavior was abusive and unnecessary. It was a good way to subvert expectations. But at the same time, the woman she screamed at ends up sticking around, claiming Sally's method actually worked. That felt a little cheap to me. Almost a validation of the thing the scene seemed to be trying to repudiate. The whole concept of getting to some deeper, truer place in the name of acting is sort of... farcical, right? What is the show trying to do with Sally's character, with the fact that she's here, back where she started, in some sort of position of authority but ultimately with nothing to show for all her hard work? Maybe I just need to keep watching to understand more.
Pros:
The stuff with the reporter, O'Neil, was so bizarre and hilarious. I loved Gene realizing what a fucking idiot he'd been, and trying to walk it back. The scene with Gene inside O'Neil's house, talking to his wife, was one of my favorites, just the utter absurdity of him having gotten away with something so brazen as breaking this woman's window and coming inside to smash up her husband's stuff. And later, we see that after some time with Moss, O'Neil is reduced to near catatonia, mysteriously speaking only in German, a language he apparently didn't speak before. That's just the kind of absurdity that makes this show so funny and great.
The psychology of Barry as a character feels sort of... out of my grasp, but in the best way. I love how he seems baffled and hurt that Cousineau would dare tell anyone the truth that he threatened his family. "I apologized for that", as if that's really going to be enough. In his head, somehow, he thinks it will be. It's so strange and kind of heartbreaking. When he's speaking to the Feds, and to Witness Protection, he repeats that Sally will be coming along with him. He has the totally delusional belief that Sally will want to leave behind her whole life and be with him, just because she said she felt safe with him.
The highlight of this episode was probably the Barry and Hank phone call. God, it was like witnessing a horrible, tragic breakup. Because Hank is right, Barry is only thinking for himself. He's actively spilling all the beans about Hank, Christobal, all of their criminal activity, then calling him up and telling him to do as he's told, and put a hit out on Cousineau. Hank has finally had enough, and on the one hand it's hard not to be sort of... proud of him for standing up for himself, but on the other hand it's so tough to see someone who actually had affection for Barry turn his back on him so decisively.
The assassination attempt is one of the most comedic, bizarre, memorable scenes this show has ever done. Barry's dead-pan certainty that the man in the back of the room has a weapon and is here to kill him, the man shooting his own hand off by mistake, the sniper taking out all the agents in the room but missing Barry entirely, Barry getting the gun, the man collapsing through the ceiling, dead, hanging from wires... Barry's bemused little expression, looking at his would-be assassins, made me laugh out loud.
So now... Barry is on the loose, maybe? Hank's plan to kill him went terribly wrong, Fuches is still inside not knowing what's happening, Gene's life is probably in very serious danger, and what will Sally do if Barry turns up wanting to run off with her? This show is so bizarre, and I still really have no idea how it's all going to turn out.

beyond the story: bitchin’
Tumblr media
Hi friends! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during these tough times! I really wanted to put something out there as a thank you to just how much support Bitchin’ got. You guys really are incredible. So, although this story has come to an end, I wanted to properly close the Bitchin’ chapter by giving you all a behind the scenes look at Bitchin’ and everything that went into writing it. This includes hidden easter eggs, backstories, alternative plot-lines, and a short drabble of the Bitchin’ cast 10 years after the story’s end.
Without further ado, please enjoy and thank you again for all your love. You have all of mine.
CHAPTER ONE – PARTNERS
Ah, yes, the start of this whole wild ride. I’ve always loved the whole nerd/popular person trope in fanfics, so it was only a matter of time before I tried my hand at it too. One thing I was adamant about was not making this a “popular person turns nerd hot/confident/better” fic as its kind of one of my least favorite cliches. With that in mind, and knowing that I was going to allude to TATBILB’s contract, I decided that I wanted Y/N to gain as much from the deal as Jungkook did. No blackmail, no just agreeing for the hell of it – Y/N was going to further herself and her dreams given the opportunity.
The beginning of the chapter is where the two are most separated and dissimilar throughout the whole story. It wasn’t that they were fundamentally different, it was that they approached life differently. Y/N was frustrated at how superficial Jungkook seemed, because she believes there is much more to life than just kicking your feet up and cracking jokes.
On the other hand, Jungkook didn’t understand why Y/N was so tense and on guard. To him, life was meant to enjoy and not take so seriously. Which makes sense, given that he grew up with minimal rules and minimal worries (bare minimum partners wassup !)
“So, do we have a deal? Partners?” There was mischievous timber to his words, the kind that made you feel as if this would all later come back to bite you in the ass.
Pushing that pestering thought away, you took his hand into yours, holding his eyes as you gave it a firm shake.
“Partners.”
God, this bit. I knew from the minute I wrote it that I was writing the ending of bitchin’ along with it. I knew this was exactly how I was going to end this story, bc the word partners has multiple means right? In chapter 1, this meant business partners, but in the final chapter… it means life partners. Idk, I’m just still really happy with this writing decision :D
CHAPTER TWO – THE CONTRACT
Dearest Yara. We meet her in chapter two don’t we? Yara is completely based off of my irl best friend Yara who is a writer and who helped me A LOT with this story. She was my biggest supporter throughout figuring out this crazy plot. It was initially only about seven parts, but with her help I managed to bump it up to 10! Everybody say thank you Yaraaaa.
You were angry, that much was evident to her. Yara was sat in your shared dorm’s living room, a thick blanket engulfing her small frame. You briefly glanced towards the TV, it was tuned into MTV, the familiar music video of Every Breath You Take by The Police playing, before directing your glare back onto the copper-haired girl.
The song reference is a direct allusion to writer Yara’s fic, which is one of my favorite fics by her. She was actively writing it around the start of our friendship so it only felt right to pay respects to her. The introduction of her character felt necessary imo bc I wanted to make sure Y/N had a life outside Jungkook. Plus, I got to use the scenes between the two girls as a way to reference the music and culture scene. Yara is especially a fan of the powerful women in the music industry at the time, i.e., Madonna, Annie Lennox, Cyndi Laupner, etc.) Yara is a raging feminist and believer in sexual freedom and libery for women, we do in fact have to stan.
“How old do you think your sister is?”
“Hey, don’t sass me. For your information, Lyanna still has all her Care Bear tapes. She threw a hissy fit when my mom tried to give them away last Christmas.” Yara recalled.
Lyanna is one of writer Yara’s past pseudonyms. She always used to joke about how whenever she read it, it was confusing because there was Y/N, Yara and Lyanna, which were technically all her lolol.
FUNNY STORY ABOUT THE CONTRACT I INSERTED INTO THIS PICTURE… Twitter found it and made it into somewhat of a meme because no one knew it came from a fic rip. I was actually rly embarrassed and even wrote some posts about how much twitter scared me on my blog LMAO. but THEN weirdly enough, I actually stumbled upon a small community on twitter who actually found my fic and would TWEET ABOUT IT!!! LIKE REACTIONS TO EACH UPDATE!!! I wish I could go back in time and remember how giddy I was the first time I found a tweet about my fic. The fanfic community on twitter gave me a new love for the site (which I had previously had removed myself from because of its toxicity) and I have met so many wonderful people because of it. People even made themselves a little twitter group chat to talk about my fics, and now we are all friends! I miss posting a chapter of bitchin’ and refreshing my twitter feed as all my mutuals would post memes and live tweet their reactions. God that made me so fucking happy.
CHAPTER THREE – THE ROLLERSKATING DATE
I love the bickering in this chapter, because unlike the bickering in the first chapter, it’s actually less hostile and more playful. Y/N is slowly letting her guard down to the very persistently charming Jungkook.
“Woah. Family of six, huh? So you have siblings then.” He noted.
“Yep. Three.”
“Tell me about them.”
Looking up from where you were slipping on your second skate, you met Jungkook’s eyes, surprised to see genuine interest in them.
I actually originally had Y/N brush him off here. I was going to wait until the drunk party scene for Y/N to open up about her family and relationship with her sisters. But then I kind of thought to myself… Why? Y/N made peace with it and doesn’t hold onto those insecurities anymore. And objectively, Jungkook hasn’t proven himself to be a bad person so… I let Y/N open herself up to him.
“Then there’s the twins, Rosa and Lia.”
“Hold on. Twins? Wait… did they go to our high school?” Jungkook asked, his interest in this conversation doubled.
“Yep. They were two grades above us.” You confirmed.
“Oh shit, yeah, I remember your sisters, they were mad hot.” Jungkook let out a low whistle, before stiffening, flashing you an apologetic look. “Uh, in a totally non-meathead way.”
You offered the scared-looking boy a small smile, shaking your head.
Some of y’all notice but, Rosa and Lia are a blatant homage to my name: Roselia. ACTUALLY some form of my name can be found in every one of the rewind series fics, including upcoming ones. I’ll give a cookie to whoever can find every single mention hehe.
“I told you it was dumb.” You laughed nervously.
It wasn’t that you cared much about what Jungkook thought but you had a feeling a guy like him, who was popular and carefree, wouldn’t be able to sympathize in the way you would like him to.
“No, I’m just… surprised, that’s all.”
Jungkook certainly was surprised. You had built up quite the impression on him from the very moment you two met. It was hard to imagine that the girl who was so unapologetically herself was ever unsure or insecure.
Somehow, the idea tugged at his heart, as if he understood you more if only just a little.
From the get go, Jungkook was extremely drawn to just how confident and secure Y/N was in herself. I knew I wanted Y/N to be unapologetically sure of herself and in her abilities. Something I didn’t want, however, was for frat boy!jungkook’s only personality traits to be liking sex and being a cocky bastard (although I am a big consumer of that trope heh). Jungkook is actually canonly incredibly insecure. He lacks a real sense of self, which is why he is so desperate for Kiri back. His relationship with Kiri at that time was a big part of what he thought was himself. He has somewhat of low self esteem tbh which is why he’ll go back to a woman who treated him unfairly. That’s why he comes off the way he does in the first chapter and why Y/N thinks he has a big ego... he’s overcompensating. He finds it so endlessly fascinating that Y/N, in all her confident glory, was actually once super insecure. He admires her all the more once she opens up about her past.
“Oh, Rosa is an intern for our hometown’s newspaper but between you and me those assholes don’t even let her write. She does coffee and burger runs for men in charge. And Lia sells ice cream at the mall.”
“What about your brother?” Jungkook asked.
“He’s training to be a cop just like my dad.”
“And your mom?”
“She works at a convenience store.”
All their careers resemble people in the latest Stranger Things season (Nancy, Steve, Hopper, and Joyce). Fun Cameo there.
“What’s wrong?” You wondered, following his eyes.
“October 16th, 1985. 6:48PM.”
“Yes. That’s today’s date and time. What about it?” You pressed, growing confused.
“Remember it.” He warned.
“Why?”
“It’s when I fell in love with you.”
This iconic line I actually got from the real Jeon Jungkook himself. While Jungkook wasn’t actually in love with Y/N here, it certainly was a cute way for him to express his admiration for her.
OH HERE’S A FUN FACT: the hickey scene at the end of this chapter where JK and Y/N kiss for the first time was actually supposed to be Yara giving Y/N the hickey like the best friend she is. Ultimately I went with JK giving it for... smut purposes... ≖‿≖
CHAPTER FOUR – THE HALLOWEEN PARTY
The decision for Y/N to be Freddie Krueger came from me planning to be him for Halloween. And I was! JK as Glen Lantz just followed naturally. I’ve seen some great edits of him as the character. Truly chef’s kiss.
I really liked that Jungkook came over to the girl’s dorm to get ready. I didn’t want a scene where Y/N was thrown into a situation she was uncomfortable with which is how much Nerd At A Party Scene go so made sure Jungkook stayed by her side throughout the part, going out of his way to introducing her to the people he cared about.
Tae’s character came in when I realized I needed a way to actually put Y/N’s event in motion. He was the missing link and BOY did you guys eat his character right up huh. Love that for me.
Another thing, the confrontation with Kiri was so hard to write guys, I reeaaaally struggle with girl conflict. GIRLS SHOULD SUPPORT GIRLS. However, not everyone gets along in real life so I went with Kiri being more along the lines of petty rather than outwardly a cunt to Y/N. Realistically, Kiri is popular and well liked among the greek life so being unkind to someone she hardly knows wouldn’t make sense. There’s definitely tension between these two but I tried my best to steer away from the typical cat fight/revenge porn/public humiliation trope most movies seem to follow.
CHAPTER FIVE – THE FIRST TIME
Introduction to Erik!!!! It was really important to me that Y/N had a life before Jungkook. That's why I wrote in Y/N having a fiancé. She’s not opposed to love, she just has reshifted her focus. She knows what she wants and is choosing to focus on that, which why when she realizes she’s falling for Kookie she’s so hesitant to admit it because she’s fallen down that road before. Even though Jungkook treats her with respect and acknowledges the parts of her she’s most proud of, she just isn’t willing to possibly give up her passions for love. Which is why she doesn’t immediately confess to him, even once she’s sure she loves him.
“I’m serious, nerd. You’re like… um… the sun!” Jungkook marveled, eyes growing full as the realization dawned on him.
“The sun?” You laughed.
“Yeah, like… you’re this bright, beautiful thing that seems like it’s here in front of me but is really light-years away.”
Jungkook was drunk, and although you were sure he was making more sense in his head, you couldn’t help but feel your face grow hot, unsure of how to react to his drunk analogy.
“You’re the sun, Y/N. You make the world turn for you. Never orbit for anyone else.”
And suddenly, you were kissing him, for no other reason other than you wanted to and that it felt like the right thing to do.
No real commentary here. Just love this bit. It’s probably my favorite interaction between them two ‧⁺◟( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ·̫ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )
“Also… She’s, uh, currently dating Eunwoo.” You told Yara.
Your best friend blinked, silence falling over her.
“Yara?”
“Good for her.” She perked up almost forcibly. “Let her put up with his annoying ass.”
Yara could see the way your expression had turned dubious as if you didn’t believe her nonchalant act.
Yara turned up her nose defensively, “What?”
Ugh yes, some character development from Yara.... the flavor ! Yara (much like Y/N and JK) also struggles with love. She has a real fear of commitment and if far more comfortable with casual sex than relationships. She did develop actual feelings for Eunwoo, she just wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment so she cut him off. Fleed the scene if you will. Typical gemini smh my head.
"I don’t think the contract mentioned orgasms.” Jungkook smirked as you released his thumb.
“I say we let it slide.” You shrugged, leaning into him casually.
“You think?”
“Totally. Think of it as… a bonding activity.” You joked, resting your chin on his shoulder, peering up through your lashes.
“Damn, we’re really committed to this fake dating thing, huh.”
You laughed in the way that you hated, but Jungkook loved; it was loud and abrupt, but it genuine, and it was you.
“What can I say, I’m a method actor.” You sighed dramatically, causing Jungkook to grin before pressing a kiss to your nose, simply because he liked the way it always seemed to make you smile.
GOD THEY’RE SO WHIPPED FOR EACH OTHER ITS DISGUSTING!!!!!! I’m really happy I decided not to make sleeping together a big deal and I got a lot of feedback from you guys agreeing! I had a lot of fun with these two’s sex scenes knowing they could do it whenever they wanted.
CHAPTER SIX – THE STEM EVENT
I started the scene with smut BUT I wanted to point out that much of their time spent together is at Y/N dorm, Jungkook either napping, hanging out or doing work as Y/N would study like she always did. I liked the idea that Jungkook would get bored and would want attention from Y/N because she was so focused. Idk, I just wanted to write a love story about two people spending time together and figuring out how they fit in each other’s lives as opposed to some dramatic I mEeT HiM aNd mY LiFe bEcAmE cRaZy. There’s nothing wrong with that plot line, I just didn’t want that for these two dorks. I wanted Y/N to interact with JK’s scene and crowd but not give up her own which is why most days JK and her just lounged around in her dorm studying.
Also, I don’t know how the teacher/student roleplay made it into the smut, it just did, no further questions (ʃ⌣́_⌣́ƪ).
Then the event scene.
“You’re whipped, dude! Seriously.”
Jungkook felt his face go red, “Shut up, no, I’m not.”
“Hey, I’m not judging. I get it. That’s your girl.” Taehyung shrugged. Jungkook placed a hand on the fold up table in front of him, staring down at the information pamphlet you had worked so hard on.
“She’s just… so fucking driven and passionate about everything she does. Sometimes I look at her, and I’m just like… holy shit, what am I doing with a girl like her? I feel like she’s totally out of my league and being with me is holding her back but— I dunno, man. I just… really like her.” Jungkook revealed, voice growing small.
An unexpected wave of tenderness fell over the two boys, Taehyung throwing an arm over his little brother’s shoulder.
“I’m happy for you, bro.”
Jungkook didn’t know it just yet but dude was talking from the heart and, is in fact, totally whipped :’c
I loved the confrontation scene between the boys and Eunwoo because the boys standing up for Yara really did make everyone feel like a friend group, not just some character who happen to exist at the same time. It wasn’t just Y/N and Yara and one side and the boys on the other. They would all become friends, which is ideal to me. A boyfriend who likes your best friend and considers her a friend so you can all hang out??? Yes please.
Initially, irl Yara and I had noooo clue if Yara would end up with Eunwoo or not. That was actually the original goal actually. But after this chapter four, you guys made it ABUNDANTLY clear that you guys wanted to see Taeyara, despite the two never even meeting! Honestly, it wasn’t until this chapter was written that we decided for sure that Eunwoo was out of the picture for Yara. Part of me really wanted to keep Yara single, but irl Yara insisted on dick and frankly, she’s right. Bitchin’ Yara deserved a shot at love. She definitely has her own story outside of Bitchin’ and will experience a lot of growth in the future.
“God, I know. I do not miss that temper of his.” She chuckled, her words piquing your interest.
“Temper?”
“Oh, yeah. Have you seriously not experienced it yet? He’s got some gnarly anger issues. Not to mention all the lying…” Kiri paused suddenly, straightening up as she flashed you an apologetic look. “Yikes, I’m sorry. I totally should not be telling you this. I’m not trying to be that gross girl that shit talks her ex to his current girlfriend.”
Miss Kiri, Miss Kiri. She really acted up this chapter didn’t she. There was a lot of discussion about whether or not those things she said about Jungkook were true. Which was exactly what I wanted hehe. We come to find out that Kiri had definitely stretched the truth. She really is good at manipulation and understanding how people think and it’s why she is in the role that she is in. Messy queen.
CHAPTER SEVEN – THE ROOFTOP DATE
This entire chapter was inspired by High School Musical with Troy and Gabriella’s rooftop garden scenes. This was my shortest chapter and honestly, probably not my strongest. I definitely went into writing this with zero concept of what I actually wanted to happen. Usually when I write my chapters I have a 4k long outline of it beforehand that I go off of. Not this one though. I really just winged it and I tried my best to write a chapter that really showed off (dialogue wise) just how this couple bounces off each other. I do really like some of the banter they have in this chapter.
You had taken note a little wooden popsicle stick poking up from the soil of the yellow flowers. Acacias, they were marked. Pulling your knees up to your chest, you considered his words.
Yellow acacias stands the value of true friendship and can indicate a secret love! I thought that was very appropriate given these dummies' relationship.
“So, you probably know why I brought you here.”
You nodded.
“You’re proposing, right?”
“Yeah, I– oh, shut up.” He laughed, the serious mood shattering as you joined him.
Even though I knew they were going to have a semi serious talk, what with Y/N asking about what Kiri had told her, these two dufuses realistically are just too comfortable with each other to stay serious for too long.
“Hey, I said that out of frustration, I didn’t really mean it. I’m sure she’ll come crawling back soon.” You attempted to comfort him, hoping to sound sincere.
“Even if that’s true, I’m not entirely sure I want that anymore.”
“What?” You blinked. Jungkook shrugged.
“What about us?” He met your eyes, causing your breath to hitch.
“What about us?”
Jungkook stared at you for a moment, noting the way the timber in your voice had become higher pitched as if panicked.
MORE FUN FACTS LMFAO: I typically do this thing with unplanned chapters where I just go for it and write and usually it works out. But when I wrote this down I remember stopping and being like ??? WHY DID I JUST WRITE THAT ??? I don’t like deleting my writing so I had a serious think to myself about whether this was going to be the moment Jungkook confessed or not.
Canonly, I decided that Jungkook did in fact mean ‘us’ in a romantic sense, but because of the way you perceivably panicked at that possible meaning, he decided against taking the conversation in that direction, instead speaking about ‘us’ in a platonic sense. Poor kookie :(
“Stop. Listen to me, Jungkook, you’re a fucking great guy, okay? You’re charismatic and funny and care about your friends… sure, you almost ruined my event, but it was mostly to defend my best friend when Eunwoo got too pushy, right? You’re a good guy, meathead. I know I joke about your ego, but I really believe you’re capable of more than you think you are. Seriously, Kiri is so lucky to be the object of your affection.”
Jungkook watched the way the sun’s orange light kissed your face, a bittersweet feeling growing in his chest as he contemplated the object of his affection. Just a couple of months ago, he would have had no doubt about who held his heart, but as you held his stare, he found himself unsure and yet, entirely sure all the same.
“Jungkook? You okay?” You frowned, catching in the sadness in his eyes.
“Hm? Yeah, yeah. I just… realized something.”
“Oh? What’s that?”
“…It doesn’t matter.” He smiled, the gesture hardly reaching his eyes.
It’s in this moment that Jungkook decides that there is no way you hold the same affection towards him that he does to you. He mistakes your words of comfort as you pushing him away. You are so kind and encouraging and Jungkook loves you so much that hearing you insist about him ending back up with Kiri hurts him so bad.
But you are still unsure about your feelings and genuinely believe that's still what Jungkook wants. You’re just being a supportive friend!! :( It isn’t until the end of this chapter when Y/N has her talk with Yara that she realizes, oh man, she’s in deep.
CHAPTER EIGHT – THE MISTAKE
BLAH. This chapter is so BLAH, you know? Having to write this chapter was SO HARD. I texted irl Yara complaining about how much I hated having to put my characters through this and that I wanted to just end the story on chapter 7 and keep them happy forever. BUT ALAS! I had planned for this to happen from the start.
You tasted like the mint of your favorite brand of toothpaste. He imagined if he had caught you any later then the mint would have been accompanied by the taste of coffee, knowing the way you rarely started a day without a cup.
God, he had missed the taste of you.
What you guys didn’t see is Jungkook spending the night with Kiri, and immediately kicking her out, freaking out as the weight of guilt washed over him. He knew he had done nothing wrong, that you weren’t his real girlfriend, and that getting back together with Kiri was exactly what he had signed up for. It was what he should’ve wanted. But it wasn't… because you were what he wanted. And that was exactly what he was going to tell you as he marched over to your apartment.
But he panicked. His mind already decided that your answer to him would be no– that you didn’t feel the same. So he kissed you. He had you in the only way he was allowed to. He was selfish and impulsive and so incredibly scared that he ended up hurting the person he loved the most.
Initially though, I had Jungkook get back together with Kiri, not that he slept with her right before sleeping with Y/N. But I decided TEEHEE let me just make everything erupt into flames. However, I didn’t realize just how angry with Jungkook you guys would get. I remember thinking DAMMIT WAS THAT TOO SCANDALOUS?? I knew I was going to have to work hard for Jungkook to redeem himself to my readers.
“She wants to get back together.” Jungkook swallowed dryly, eyes wavering between yours as if to gauge your reaction.
“…Oh.”
You shook your head.
“I mean, wow! That’s… That’s great!” You smiled, something tearing apart inside you as the words left your lips.
“Y/N–”
“Seriously! This means it worked, right? This is exactly what you wanted to happen.” You enthused, turning your head so that he couldn’t see the way your eyes had welled up.
Jungkook’s heart was pounding in his ears, fighting the urge to wrap his arms around you.
“Yeah… yeah, no, you’re right. We did it.” He replied monotonously.
GOD THIS PART IS SO UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING! JUST ADMIT YOU LOVE EACH OTHER YOU MORONS! This entire situation is so convoluted because there's so much information missing and not being expressed, I seriously want to ring my own neck rereading this bit.
“Are you mad?” He called out cautiously, a heavy feeling falling onto his chest.
“Why would I be mad?” You quipped back sharply, causing Jungkook to flinch. He shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
“I just thought… I mean we’ve been fooling around a lot lately, so I didn’t know if—”
“If what? I had feelings for you?” You scoffed. “Please, as if I’d ever fall for you.”
And there it was— everything Jungkook already knew but had been so afraid to hear. Of course, you didn’t feel for him what he felt for you. How could he have expected anything different?
IDIOTS!!! THEY'RE BOTH IDIOTS!!! I don't know how y'all put up with this for so long. Forgive me.
CHAPTER NINE – THE BREAK
Okay I actually love this chapter. And for many reasons. Let me break down the three scenes for you guys.
Scene one: Kiri confrontation
Kiri is definitely an opposing antagonist. She is constantly working against Y/N because of their interests directly conflicting. BUT. I would argue that the biggest antagonist to this story is the inner ones – Y/N and Jungkook's lack of ability to admit their feelings constantly holding them both back from their happy ending. That being said, a confrontation scene between Y/N and Kiri was MUCH needed. While I suppose I can understand why Kiri doesn't like Y/N, that doesn't change the fact that she has been disrespectful and catty. So miss Y/N had to put Miss Kiri in her place (•̀ᴗ•́)
Scene two: Yara and Tae at the library
Fanservice. That is all. LMFAOOO y'all reallllyyy wanted it to happen and who am I to deny my people what they want. It was really fun getting to explore my side characters and develop them through interactions outside the two main characters. IRL Yara also mentioned giving bitchin’ Yara and Tae their own chapter as a joke and I was like LOL BET. I fully was going to but then I got the idea for the next scene and was like ahh ok maybe not the whole chapter.
Scene three: Meeting with Erik
So. This was a SUPER last minute decision. Like, it wasn’t until I was writing this chapter that I planned on Erik making an appearance. I saw a tweet with someone saying their bitchin theories and they mentioned Erik appearing out of nowhere and I was like,,, HOLD ON!!!! That could be kind of spicy ≖‿≖
I knew for a fact JK was NOT going to be forgiven in this chapter; I needed a way to lay the situation out between the two dorks without trying to seem like I was trying to sway my audience in a way that didn't make sense to the story. Y/N was rightfully angry. But she wasn't only angry about the timing of the sex. She was angry that Jungkook went back to Kiri at all and there was no way she was going to admit that. So who better to lay it all out than calculated, unbiased third party Erik. He deserved some character development after all.
I also liked the idea that Y/N had, in theory, “romantic options.” Losing Jungkook didn’t mean the end of her life. Having my female lead stand on her own was very important to me.
CHAPTER TEN – THE END
RIGHT OF THE BAT I needed Jungkook to suffer. So that whole scene where he tries to interact with his old group only for his presence to make everything awkward MMMM yes, sweet revenge on my part.
You were surprised. His hair was no longer shaggy and long like you remembered it. Instead, it had been freshly cut, looking healthy and neatly styled for the first time since you met Jungkook.
THE WAY SO MANY PEOPLE COMMENTED ON THIS LINE “but Y/N liked it long?!?”  IS SO FUNNNYyyyy. So let me clarify a thing. Jungkook had always wanted to cut his hair right. The only reason he didn’t was because Y/N told him not to. With Y/N no longer in the picture to convince him out of it, he cut his hair. That’s really all there is to it skfjsjf.
You know, I had written this part around the time I had just finished up the third ch believe it or not. And it was COMPLETELY different. I had it planned that Yara and Y/N ignored him throughout class and Yara had gone back after the bell rang to go verbally assault JK. And as the two hashed it out, only then was that when Jungkook would realize that he liked Y/N after Yara literally spelled it out for him.
“You like her, dumbass!” Was what I had written Yara saying. I really had written him in denial for ten chapters, I was a whole sociopath (╥﹏╥). But ultimately, I decided that Jungkook came to that conclusion on his own and the decision to apologize to Y/N would have been made over winter break.
“You said Kiri came over asking for you back, yet you still came over and slept with me the next day. Even though the two of you had sex the night before. Do you understand how that makes me feel?”
“I’m—”
“Like garbage!" You emphasized, the white paint of the door somehow irritating you further. "I felt like I was something you threw away and picked back up whenever you felt like getting your dick wet.”
Your chest was rising and falling rapidly, and you tried your hardest to not let your emotions get the best of you.
“Not to mention to everyone else, it looks like you cheated on me. Which makes me look like a fucking idiot." You scoffed.
Jungkook said nothing in reply, which somehow made it easier to say all you should have said that day in your room.
“It just sucks to realize that someone you once cared about sees you as nothing more than a toy. It fucking sucks.”
Man :( writing this hurt my heart. I really, really, love bitchin!y/n and writing her hurting freaking stinks. But she had to speak her mind. She deserves the chance to get everything off her chest with the way Jungkook hurt her.
Your heart and mind were in constant paradox, torn between wanting him back and wanting him to know just how much he had hurt you. Your mind ultimately won the battle, of course, but as Jungkook stood just a few inches of drywood apart pouring his heart out, it was hard to say which major organ was responsible for your next words.
The creak of the door being pushed open sent Jungkook's eyes wide, revealing your hesitant form. You had your arms crossed over your chest as if to guard the contents inside of it.
You looked like an angel underneath the bathroom's blue fluorescent lights, beautiful and lovely, a stark contrast from your next crushing sentence.
“I slept with Erik.”
Hehe. Ofc my girl Y/N had to have a rebound!!! She knows that life goes on. However, as I wrote in, she definitely regretted it. It was kind of the same situation that Jungkook was in where he pursued something just because it was familiar and a distraction and not because he really wanted it. Both Y/N and Jungkook are flawed characters but that’s okay! If anything, Y/N’s mistake of sleeping with Erik is what allows her to forgive Jungkook. Knowing first hand how complicated their entire relationship really was.
“I don’t need you… but I don’t think I want a life without you.” You finished shyly.
Your eyes were locked with his when suddenly a small noise escaped him, eyes pulling away from yours as his head moved to attempt to hide the way his eyes had grown wet.
I got this line from one of my best friends after her ex broke up with her. It made me physically sad and really sympathize with her so I quickly wrote it down into my notes app to save for later LMAOOOO. Knowing that you are your own person and life will inevitably go on after losing someone, but that your heart still wants and is pleading for the one person you can’t have. SO SAD. I’m happy I got to use this line in one of my fics.
The note Jungkook wrote Y/N,,, imagine him not being able to sleep one night over winter break so he just writes down everything he should have told Y/N while he still had the chance…. I’ll for real cry dude, he’s so cute. Also, the line about him buying you fluffy Halloween socks for Christmas went over people’s heads I think but HECK I THOUGHT THAT WAS SO FUNNY AND SWEET (because Y/N bought Christmas socks when it was Halloween teehee).
"Are you two dorks done crying?" Yara’s voice rang out suddenly, causing both of you to jump apart.
"Yara, you creep! Privacy, dude! Ever try knocking?" You sniffed, wiping at your face hurriedly.
"What? Like you were peeing with Jungkook in the bathroom? Please." She waved you off, walking back into the living room to give you two some privacy. She did say Jungkook had 15 minutes before she’d have to come back in after all. "Anyway, Tae will be over in 10 minutes for the Saved By The Bell marathon that’s on so you guys are more than welcomed to join." She called out from her newly seated position on the couch.
I included this scene with Yara because things were getting too serious for my liking ngl. Plus the idea that the four of them would all come together at the end for a much needed reunion made my happy bitchin heart soar.
Jungkook let out a laugh, his palm finding your cheek, eyes locked on your lips. You were preening for his kiss, mouth parting slightly as you anticipated it.
“Partners?”
The question took you by surprise, eyes widening at your not so pretend lover.
Idiot.
“Partners.” You smiled softly, eyes shiny and brimming with tears as he kissed you for what must have been the millionth time, but still somehow felt like the first.
UGH I LOVE THEM I REALLY DO. I was so happy with how this final scene came out :( They’re partners, they really are I miss these boneheads.
AND NOW, I PRESENT THE CANON FUTURE OF THE BITCHIN UNIVERSE...
10 YEARS LATER
Let’s be honest, Jungkook popped the question the day of graduation, he can’t imagine a life in which you wouldn’t be beside him
You said yes (shocker)
Cue Jungkook being the most wonderful partner and respecting your wish to finish your residency program before having the wedding
You absolutely kick ass at being a neonatal surgeon
Also, Jungkook started a film company! It’s small but he loves what he does and works with colleges and helps out the film majors with resources and equipment <3
SO IT'S THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING RIGHT
Yara and your sisters are helping you get ready, with your best friend as the ever so reassuring maid of honor
And by that I mean you’re as calm as a cucumber and Yara is one wrong move away from having a stroke
“Y/N… Don’t freak out....The catering company put in two orders of shrimp instead of chicken and steak.”
“Yara, it’s okay.”
“NO ITS NOT???? THIS IS YOUR WEDDING DAY AND YOU’RE GETTING CRUSTACEANS.”
Y/N making Yara take a seat and practice some breathing exercises so she doesn’t upset the baby
Oh yeah, Yara is 10 weeks pregnant
Taehyung is the dad lol
Yara and Taehyung have been together ever since that day at the library hehe <3
They moved in together and adopted a cat and everything (sweet boy Tae wanted a dog but Yara’s afraid of dogs and Tae would do anything for that woman so Yeontan the cat it is)
Yara refuses to put a label on their relationship even after all this time, and Tae doesn’t ask for one. They’re happy and dedicated to each other and don’t feel the need to put pressure on something that’s already so perfect
Yara is actually violently in love with Tae but still scoffs when Y/N tries to bring it up
“Oh my god, you’re so in love with him”
“Huh??? you must be sick or something. Get well soon, damn :/”
Yara likes to come up with different labels for Taehyung every time she has to introduce him. Among her favorites are roommate, rent sharer, baby daddy and penis lender
Speaking of Taehyung, he’d have a hand on Jungkook’s shoulder as he tries to calm down the panicking groom to be
“JK, breathe.”
“What if she doesn’t show up? What if she doesn’t want to marry me? What if I pressured her into this and— and I’ve freaked her out and now she hates me?”
“Dude, you guys have been engaged for eight years. She’s had her opportunity to run. She’ll show up.”
Taehyung scruffing up the younger man’s hair reassuringly, which only flusters him more because DAMMIT he wants to look perfect for you and now his hair is messed up >:(
(You like him no matter what his hair looks like though)
Jungkook literally swallowing down a sob as you walk down the aisle and he lays his eyes on you for the first time
You having a dumb smile on your face the entire walk over because your husband to be is crying and you haven’t even exchanged vows yet
The entire audience going all sobby when you finally do exchange vows because they’re so beautiful and real
The ten years together has not been easy— from financial struggles as you tried to support yourself through med school, to personal conflicts when Jungkook wanted to start a family already
But you guys figured it out
You always do
He’s your person. And you are his.
Y/N’s sisters Rosa and Lia are a WRECK— even your dad is tearing up
Your family loves Jungkook and have been counting down the days until you guys married, let’s be honest
“You may now kiss the bride.”
Jungkook punching the air with a “FINALLY!” before kissing the hell out of you
The cutting of the cake inevitably turning into a food fight
The shrimp entrees turning out to be pretty damn good
Yara catching the bouquet and wagging her brows at Taehyung suggestively
Jungkook pulling you aside to take photos of you outside the venue because you look so so pretty and he loves the way you smile when he’s the one behind the camera
The party is in full session, your siblings tearing up the dance floor like the extroverts they are
You and Jungkook are sat at the head of the room, hands intertwined underneath the table as you watch a tired and painfully sober Yara swing her bare feet onto Taehyung’s lap, requesting a foot rub
Watching your pregnant best friend and her lover together, you turned towards your own, smile impossibly wide
“What?”
“Let’s have a baby.” You’d grin, so stupid happy
Jungkook’s eyes going round and immediately jumping up from his seat because god that’s all he’s ever wanted
Being tugged out the room by a giddy Jungkook, one of your heels flinging off somewhere behind you.
“What’s happening? Where are we going?!”
The two of you find yourself in a storage room somewhere on the hotel floor
“Jeon Jungkook, what the hell—“
His mouth find yourself, kissing you in a way that couldn’t at the altar
You kissed him back without questions, arms wrapping around the man you now called your husband
“I love you.” He’d sigh into your neck, his hot breath causing you to shiver
“I love you too.”
“Let’s make a baby.”
“Yeah let’s— wait, right here? Right now?!”
Jungkook merely nodding as his mouth found the exposed skin of your chest
“Meathead, we can’t just ditch our wedding to have sex!”
“Why not? We did our marital duties. Now it’s our guests' job to get embarrassingly drunk and make a fool of themselves on the dance floor. No one will even miss us.”
“Isn’t baby making what our honeymoon is for?”
“Screw that. I’ve done my waiting. Let’s start our family, nerd.”
Jungkook kissing your protests silent before you inevitably give in and let him take you right there and then, your wedding dress hung around your hips
Husband and wife coming together with shaky breaths and hushed moans as they promise the rest of their lives to each other, making every argument, struggle or moment of uncertainty leading up to now totally worth it
Walk of shame back into the party with nervous hair fixing from you and a proud grin from Jungkook
Yara figuring out exactly why you two had sneaked off to, flashing the newly weds a knowing smirk
The night of your wedding, Jungkook surprises you with a present
You unwrap it in confusion, only to see that it’s a glass frame and inside of it is the wrinkled and worn out lined paper the two of you had scribbled on many many years ago
Jungkook hangs up the contract right above your bed as per your request, smiling as he does and jumping on him the moment he puts down the hammer bc dammit it you’re too heckin excited to make love with your sentimental loser of a husband
And yes, by the next month, you are pregnant and incredibly happy
And of course, your daughter and Yara’s son grow up to be best friends, not a family holiday passing by where they aren’t told the story of the totally bitchin’ way both set of their parents got together

Vigilantea AU Masterpost (So Far) !
I wasn’t expecting to devote myself this much to this au, but after some thought, frantic drawing + a very achey wrist, and some incredible convos with other users on the site, here’s a bit of a collection of ideas and concepts for the au/for later personal use as a reference for all the art I plan to do for this (it’s a lot)!
and a massive thanks to @loganelfreeces who got as equally invested as I did and provided a huge chunk of this list! all of their ideas were literally perfect and I could not have asked for more!
Background
In this timeline, Deku isn’t able to save Bakugo from the sludge villain and thus doesn’t get noticed by All Might or receive One For All. (Whether Bakugo lived or died can be up to how angsty you’re feeling, but for wholesomeness purposes let’s say he survived)
With UA all but out of reach, he runs into Gentle Criminal and La Brava while on an errand for his mom to buy *drumroll* tea and Gentle instantly sees himself in Deku, having also aspired to be a useful hero and failed causing someone else pain instead.
The three begin to meet up regularly at a tea shop and bond over being almost-heroes until Gentle ultimately decides to take the scrappy quirkless kid under his wing to help him perform community service petty crimes, the “crimes” really just being only slightly illegal acts of charity.
La Brava teaches Deku how to become a master hacker, and Deku catches on pretty quickly given that he was the definition of a sticky iPad kid most of his life.
The trio now make it their mission to make their community safer for outsiders like themselves and are also fiercely protective of the UA students nearby. They’re determined to make sure the kids can still become the heroes the three of them couldn’t be, which entails making some helpful calls to the police when suspicious activity is going on and performing some quick saves on the sidelines. But in return, they mess with 1A from time to time for the sake of their vlogs because they’re still, well, villains (to some extent). 1A is vaguely aware of a kindly, plain-looking rogue that darts around campus but he remains an urban legend at UA until a compilation of Bakugo screaming goes viral on YouTube and Deku’s identity is uncovered by force of sheer anger and determination on Bakugo’s part.
(All of 1A except Bakugo liked that video when they saw it on their feed, let’s be honest here)
And as for Inko! Because she does, in fact, exist. She knows that Deku is out most of the time attending his mysterious “club meetings” and bringing her back obscene amounts of fancy teas when he visits home. (This bit is one of my favorite contributions from @loganelfreeces ) Eventually she finds out he’s being mentored by two friendly outsiders, so she begins inviting them over for dinner and stuff like that. It’s been decided that “Inko is actually good friends with Gentle and La Brava since they keep being so nice to her son, so she keeps inviting them over for dinner or tea and caring for them the same way they care for her son. Gentle and Brava agree that Inko is an angel and if they weren't totally gone for each other and she wasn't married, they'd compete for her hand.” (I laughed SO hard at this agshhwgdhd it’s perfection, had to quote because I couldn’t have said it better.)
Once again for personal bias purposes, Hisashi Midoriya is constantly plagued by the feeling that his spot in the family has been compromised by two attractive and polite vigilantes. Inko deserves them, as a treat.
Supplementary Stuff (The Fun Part)
Upon finding out that one of the UA students is disadvantaged, Deku, Gentle Criminal, and La Brava hack into the school’s database to find her apartment and anonymously leave a massive amount of tea and cakes at Uraraka’s door that lasts her for weeks
Students from 1A tend to sporadically disappear off-campus for an afternoon, having been “kidnapped” by the fam. In reality, it’s just Deku interviewing them over their quirks and what it’s like to be a hero-in-training and then taking them out for tea afterwards. The students always return to the dorms safe, albeit confused, but overall charmed
I’d like to believe that the fam rearranged all of Momo’s expensive teas and mixed up the labels at least once, because that’s just funny.
So yeah! There’s the basics!
That’s all we’ve got for now, and details here and there might be subject to change. Feel free to add on, I would absolutely love any other suggestions for this au! My break is coming up soon so expect a LOT of this to receive some fanart adaptations! Another big thanks to @loganelfreeces as well!

HijiTae Favorite Moment Poll [Results]
Here are the results for the HijiTae Favorite Moments poll, which closed on October 31:
Tumblr media
Thank you to all those who voted! It was hard to pick just one moment. Hopefully, we’ll have more participants next time since I know there are more fans out there, judging by discussions I’ve seen.
The Yagyuu arc took the lead and won first place in the end. This is the first manga canon moment for Hijikata and Tae, and it’s amazing that it happened so early. The two of them have both a funny and serious conversation together. Tae felt comfortable confiding into Hijikata, who, in turn, believed in the goodness of her heart. That’s a promising start. Also, bonus points to Hijikata for saying, “No means no.” Always an important message.
Second place goes to the Timeskip arc, which gave us the official, canon, one and only hypothetical son of Hijikata and Tae: Togoro! We got a name and everything. He’s inherited his papa’s bangs, too! It was quite a surprise when Tae revealed that Hijikata was actually the father of her child (which still would’ve sent Shinpachi into a screaming rampage). Sorachi really blessed us with this one, even if Togoro turned out to be part of the wart invasion. Still, few other ships get this sort of thing. In fact, the only other example I can think of off the top of my head is Gintoki and Tsukuyo with Dia and Block. It’s nice of Sorachi to give us rare pair shippers a moment like this one.
Third place goes to the Underwear Thief arc, which is the anime’s first canon moment. This is the moment that got me shipping them before I knew of anything else. Hijikata and Tae are both considered scary people, so it’s natural and not impossible to imagine them as the scariest couple in Edo. They also command a great deal of respect from others and are natural leaders with many rallying around them, by choice or duty. This particular moment put them in a shoujo anime-type scene complete with bubbles, as they discussed the most effective torture methods. Now that’s a scary couple, indeed.
Fourth place is the Soul Switch arc, and I find that many people still misunderstand this scene. Technically, Tae was surprised by Gintoki’s body taking her hand, but it was Hijikata’s soul who charmed her with his style of romance instead of turning her off like Gintoki’s flirting ultimately did. Hijikata has shown he has a way with words, as we see in the Penpal arc. Interestingly enough, it’s Hijikata who first comes up with the idea of romancing Tae to get quickly her away from the monstrous cat. Even Gintoki is shocked, and then reprimands Hijikata for taking it that far with this exchange:
Gintoki: “The hell do you think you’re saying using other people’s bodies?!” Hijikata: “This is the fastest way to break those two apart, isn’t it?” Gintoki: “It is not!!! Imagine all the shit I’ll have to deal with once I get back to my regular body!!”
At least, we got to see an image of Hijikata and Tae in a romantic exchange in body and soul, but in very odd ways. Tae was totally ready to consider Hijikata as a suitor with salary comparisons being first on her list (because she already knows the stress from dealing with debt), and there is a clear winner there.
The Popularity Poll arc didn’t receive any votes, maybe because they were facing off in “battle,” so to speak. However, it remains a fun episode, plus it’s interesting that Sorachi chose the line-ups based on how much each character relates to one another.
What’s most surprising of all to me is that the Farewell Shinsengumi arc moment didn’t receive any votes, either. It features a quintessential OTP moment: one half of an OTP getting angry when someone tries to hurt the other half. Whenever other ships (either in Gintama or other series) get a moment like that, people go ballistic in an excited way, but most of fandom ignores this part and focuses on Gintoki punching the Shogun instead. Yet, Tae’s speech and Hijikata’s reaction, both of them risking so much, remains important.
Once again, thank you to all who voted! Who knows, there may be another HijiTae poll in the future. Keep an eye out for it.

Note
hey! do you have any long fic recs? like 20k and over?
yes! i have a bunch! the first three on my emotional support fics rec list i believe are all 40k+, and there’s a handful on my mcstrome rec list as well, but i’ll list some more broken down by pairing/teams, depending:
flyers
keep the car running is i think the ultimate slowburn travis/nolan fic. it’s got a level of domesticity that makes me absolutely lose my mind, and i’m the biggest fan of ao3 user springsteen’s characterization for both of them
stuck with me now is a very fun carter hart/nick suzuki fic that’s actually a mandalorian au, and i do think that it’s such a great adaptation. also it just works so perfectly for carter (it’s also worth just reading gareth’s entire body of works, since the rest is a carter/nick series that’s about 100k total)
monstrum, moniere is a carter/kevin fic where neither of them play hockey but kevin is a literal demon and carter’s new roommate. super fun concept, a great read, and the stuff with kevin’s family is such a highlight
in the name of being honest is an emotional journey disguised as a travis/nolan fic where nolan goes to seattle. you will laugh, you will cry, you will probably fall a little bit in love with both willy and pld in the process
era of gods is a travis/nolan like fantasy au and the world building of it is absolutely out of this world good and i cannot stress it enough. if there’s any tknp fic you read, have it be this one
mattdrai
the kids are alright is a super fun au where matthew is an elementary school teacher. it’s fun and charming and i think does a really good job at writing a really well rounded and engaging story
avs
big horny’s guide to finding love (and then some) for the modern man is a nate/ej grindr au with just enough identity porn to make it very fun. it’s obviously on the nsfw side of things but its very funny and handles my favorite trope flawlessly
my favorite color is you (you’re vibrating out my frequency) is a jt/josty/kerfy fic that is one of my absolute favorite takes on soulbonds ever in terms of lore and also execution
devils
all that is a super compelling mikey/nate fic that deals with soulmates and is one of my all time favorite superbuddies fics. it really just captures their dynamic so perfectly and i’ve read it more times than i’d like to admit
break into blossom is established nico/nolan and it focuses on nolan exploring make up and what that means to him. it’s one of my favorite fics of all time and i usually don’t read a lot of established relationship fic, if that’s any indication of how much i love it

Good Omens Fic Recs
hi folks, this is a long overdue list of fics that ive read over the last while that i haven’t seen on a lot of rec lists. please enjoy, i love them all. bless content creators and everyone reading!
Untouched by Etaleah (3.5k, T) - touch and affection starved Crowley throughout history. It made me cry.
Vipers that cannot be charmed  by squiddz (5k, E) - consensual non consent where Crowley envenoms Aziraphale. Super romantic but heed the tags.
slither on home to me by sabinelagrande (7.5k, E) - Aziraphale is a scalie even though he has no idea what that word means. Crowley indulges him with naga sexytimes. Hilarious and loving and hot as hell. Heed the tags. (also any thing by this author is fire)
Safe Words by LauraShapiro and obstinatrix (20k, E) - Aziraphale likes being hurt in bed and finally works up the nerve to tell Crowley. Kinky and sweet and loving and an absolute fave. Heed the tags.
Yours from the start by chamyl (18k, E) - pining through the ages except sort of not? They are sleeping together and totally in love and they both know it. Sweet as all get out and containing perhaps the hottest sex scene I’ve ever read.
It’s Getting Hard, This Holding Back by ZehWulf (13k, T) - asexual husbands trying to get together. Wonderful humor. If you want a laugh and a dose of sweetness, look no further.
All the Rest by darlingred1 (11.5k, E) - you’ve probably read some darlingred1 because their smut is top notch but this is my absolute favorite because its got my guilty pleasure trope: one of them thinks they are sleeping together because they are in love, and the other thinks its friends with benefits
Celestial Bodies by justkeeptrekkin (48k, M) - I recommend this fic to everyone. Absolute game changer and influenced the way I write canon azcrow getting together in the past. Simply masterful. One of those fics that was gloriously happy and yet stuck with me for days. Azcrow but make it 1920s.
Good Neighbors, Good Fences (and other misunderstandings) by out_there (28k, E) - I know I said I wouldn’t put things on here that are on a lot of rec lists but I’d be remiss not to rec this because it’s an all time fave. One of those I go and reread when I’m feeling down. Human AU, Aziraphale and Crowley are neighbors and there are misunderstandings and love. Honestly my favorite human Crowley take.
Long is the Way, And Hard by Kate_Lear (27k, E) - god I love a slightly darker Crowley and this one is perfect. Crowley decides he’s going to play the  long con on Aziraphale by trying to seduce him for fun, just to see if he can. And of course, he falls in love along the way.
Strangers in Paradise by HolyCatsandRabbits (67k, E) - the first kiss in this made me SCREAM. Some Azcrow through the ages but mostly post apocalypse action and intrigue!
Clandestine Affairs by writeonclara (27k, M/E) - A slightly different take where Aziraphale and Crowley didn’t meet on the wall and, while Aziraphale is out pretending to be human for an assignment, Crowley goes undercover to work as his valet. MASTERFUL SEXUAL TENSION LIKE WOW
A Complete Beginner’s Guide to Understanding Human Sexual Behavior  by anti_kate (6.5k, E) - anyone who knows me knows how much I love “they experiment with sexuality together” fics. This one is top notch, hilarious, and ultimately, very very sexy.
In Mixed Company Or the Corporate Retreat of Heaven and Hell - by theoldaquarian (53k, M) - nobody does the patented tongue-in-cheek style of good omens like theoldaquarian and this is one of the best examples I’ve seen. Hilarious and sweet and utterly amazing
Mistakes Were Made - by entanglednow (9k, E) - if I could rec everything by entanglednow I would but for now I’ll leave it at this one. Crowley gets a bit too carried away masturbating while changing efforts and gets himself pregnant. It’s not quite mpreg. More like snake!preg. Featuring pining and caretaking Aziraphale and hilarious lines (as entanglednow is so good at).
Knowing this I will reach for you - by aria (24.5k, E) - another darker Crowley fic where we see his slow descent into love with Aziraphale. It was wonderful and moving and I can’t rec it enough.
Be Mine Tonight by Artenon (11.5k, T/M) - human AU. I loved the Aziraphale and Crowley back story and so many of the tropes chosen for this fic. Fake Relationship! Shenanigans! Pining! UST! Just a delicious treat for a bad day. The ultimate pick me up imo
and finally, WIPs I’m obsessed with
And No Birds Sing by anti_kate - naga!crowley except particularly monstrous and feral. The atmosphere and descriptions and emotion have me thinking about this fic regularly and updates make my day
Anatomy 101 by fyre - another Crowley and Aziraphale experiment with sex fic. So good. Delightfully hot. Wonderful Crowley characterization. Laugh out loud funny in places and gut wrenching in others.
Leave the Light On by killerqueer and Venturetrain - Human AU, Crowley is a phone sex operator and Aziraphale is a client. But they are also neighbors! I’m not sure if this is abandoned or not but it is SO SO SO good
Pretend to be Nice by seekwill - yeah this is technically Ineffable Bureaucracy but it’s also the most invested I’ve been in a story in years so you should read it

(See updated list on my blog)
My reviews of all my favorite k dramas I have seen so far (up to 12)
1) Hometown Cha Cha Cha: The gold standard. Chief’s kiss. Best show I have watched in a very long time. It’s an absolute masterpiece and delight. I want to live in that fictional town forever. Go watch it now! Its got Gilmore Girls and Hart of Dixie vibes. 6/5 (Netflix)
2) Her Private Life: Super funny and charming. The romantic leads have insane chemistry. The premise is so good! I LOVE that the lead is a Korean boy band fan girl. Might be the most rewatchable of all the k dramas I’ve seen so far. 5/5 (Netflix)
3) Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung: Great strong female lead. Very good messages. The most adorable prince I’ve ever seen. What more do you need? Couldn’t stop watching. I hope Cha Eun Woo gets more parts like this in the future. 5/5 (Netflix)
4) Start-Up: Great acting, compelling storylines. Very cute love story. Intriguing plot twists. High quality cinematography. Intense love triangle. Grandma is MVP of the show. 4/5 (Netflix)
5) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo: It was refreshing to see a bad-ass yet vulnerable woman like Kim Bok-Joo as a romantic lead. I hope there are more characters like her on tv in the future. The main couple was adorable and very different from most other couples. They had so much fun together which was fun to watch. 4/5 (Viki)
6) Run On: Cute, fun, silly and pretty light. A very easy show to watch. I especially loved the supporting cast. The art student guy was adorable. Can he get a spin off? Strange storyline but it was a fun easy ride. 4/5 (Netflix)
7)Touch Your Heart: Don’t be fooled by the first few episodes, the characters will become very likable and the court cases and romantic storylines will become very intriguing and compelling by episode 3. If you can just stick it out for a while, you will enjoy this cute series. 4/5 (Netflix)
8)Doom at Your Service: I did not think I would like this but I really loved it. I enjoyed the made up theology a lot. The main couple and the smaller side characters were really likable. I didn’t like the second male lead editor guy but he wasn’t in it too much. It was a sometimes real sad yet ultimately heart warming fantasy story. 4/5 (Viki)
9)What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: This show has elements of what I like from every other K-Drama I’ve seen: great chemistry between the leads, hilarious supporting cast, pretty light and fun. That being said, it did feel a bit formulaic at times. It’s pretty much Two Weeks Notice, which I love. 4/5 (Hulu)
10)Crash Landing On You: This show is so interesting. I love seeing what life is like in North Korea. Oh and the main couple has so much chemistry they became a couple in real life. Very lovable side characters. Unfortunately it becomes a bit too melodramatic for me about half way through. The first half was phenomenal though. 3/5 (Netflix)
11)True Beauty: Makes me sad to say this because I love Cha Eun Woo but I just don’t think this one is for me. It’s a great show if you like angsty teen love triangles. It has a good message which I loved but I really didn’t care about the side characters. I found myself fast forwarding through all the parts that didn’t have the main couple in it. 2/5 (Viki)
12)Goblin: I just can’t get through it. I’m currently on episode 12 and I just can’t anymore. The fact that she’s a child and he’s permanently 35 (or 900?) is too creepy. How did this even get made? I think I could have really enjoyed it if they just made her an appropriate age. The only redeeming quality it has is the adorable Grim Reaper but you can watch him without being totally creeped out in Touch Your Heart. Should I force myself to finish this? 1/5 (Viki)
What are your thoughts on these shows? Do you agree or disagree with my rankings? What do you think I should watch next? On my growing list to watch are So I Married My Anti-Fan, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Our Beloved Summer, and Oh My Venus. Am I missing anything?
Update: I did finish Goblin. It was pretty painful for me honestly. Thank you commentators for all the recommendations! I added a bunch to the list. Just started So I Married My Anti-Fan. It seems super fun so far! I love that the boss lady from Run On is in it.

An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Welcome to the Cult of Cult! I am Reverend Chainsaw and Today we read from the book of 1st Lycanthropy and indulge in a truly impactful cult film; John Landis' An American Werewolf in London. As far back as I can remember I thought that being a Werewolf would be nothing short of bad ass, but An American Werewolf in London totally delivers in the horror of the affliction, a task all to often ignored by werewolf films.
The Message
An American Werewolf in London tells the story of an American Werewolf in London. The name is a quite apt plot summary in the way of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You will know exactly what you're getting with this movie. Two young American men known as Jack and David are backpacking across Europe and they find themselves on foot travelling across the moors of Yorkshire. They discover an unwelcoming pub known as the Slaughtered Lamb. They quickly put off the patrons and are ominously warned about beasts that are out on the moors, but are ultimately made to leave the pub. While out in the moors the two boys are viciously attacked by a mysterious creature.
David wakes up in a London hospital and learns that his friend and Travel companion Jack was killed by the beast. David is held by the hospital and begins a romance with a nurse named Alex. Alex eventually lets David crash at her place and things get spicy. But the whole time David is beset by dreams and visions of violence, and wakes up in strange places like the London Zoo. One of his most recurring visions is the phantasmagoric image of his dead friend Jack providing macabre warnings and exposition about exactly what David is going through. Jack urges David to kill himself before he fully succumbs to his lycanthropic curse.
David's budding romance with Nurse Alex, and medical professionals insistence that he's just a little twisted in the head from his trauma leads him to ignore these prophecies and he eventually undergoes one of the best looking werewolf transformations ever put to screen. David eventually does try to off himself but it's too late and as a wolf he terrorizes the streets of London until Alex is forced to witness him mowed down by a shower of police bullets.
The Benediction
Best Aspect: The Horror! The Horror!
As I mentioned earlier many Werewolf movies simply insist that being a werewolf is a scary thing, but they play the 'curse' like a superpower. The monster doesn't attack anybody who doesn't deserve it or something. In An American Werewolf in London the curse of Lycanthropy feels constantly dangerous for both David and the people around him. There is always a tension that the next person he hurts will be someone he loves. The other downside that just ups the misery of the werewolf experience is the painful transformation, the social stigma of being a maniac who thinks he transforms into a wolf, and the mental torture of your victims ghosts haunting your waking hours. It's a truly terrible fate that has never been portrayed as powerfully before or since. Werewolves are often badass but they are rarely scary. This is not a problem for this film.
Worst Aspect: Comedy?
An American Werewolf in London is often touted as a great example of Horror Comedy. But here's the thing, the comedy is not very comedic. I've never watched this movie for a laugh. As mentioned above the overall tone of this film is bleak and nihilistic. It's a miserable fate and the film doesn't play it for laughs. It's a horror movie with effective levity, but it is not at all a comedy, I don't care what John Landis thinks. If this is a comedy, it's a piss poor one. That's not really a problem for me though, the horror is good enough.
Best Dialogue: Bedside Manner
In one of the above mentioned moments of levity that might actually qualify as the only joke that lands is when Nurse Alex is dealing with a little boy who's staying at the hospital. This precocious runt is giving her a difficult time by playfully responding "NO" to everything she asks of him. She then asks if he's "ever been severely beaten about the face and neck?" and it's pretty freaking funny. But it doesn't play as a gag, as much as a little insight into the wit of Nurse Alex's Character.
Best Effect: Obvious Winner is Obvious
Google "Best Werewolf Transformation" and I'm sure you will see this exact scene. If you have never seen An American Werewolf in London I am certain you've seen this sequence. If you haven't then you are severely missing out. Stop reading this right now and look it up. This transformation sequence alone is worth watching this film for, the good news is that there is a pretty great horror flick on both ends as well.
Best Sequence: Nightmarapalooza
The best sequence of An American Werewolf in London is another absolutely overplayed and obvious answer. The Nightmare that David has in the hospital that features a violent invasion of gun toting, dog faced Nazis blowing the place to hell is pretty much a weird ass 80s metal music video in the middle of a werewolf movie and it provides just enough novelty to this film to set it apart from your typical full moon fare.
Honorable Mention: Moon's Out
There's full on butt in this movie. So if you like butt's. It's full of butt.
Summary
An American Werewolf In London falls into the category of movies that it almost feels like a waste of time to review, but it also falls squarely into the category of movies that are the whole reason that I do this for myself. This is a personal project of getting my feelings about these kinds of spooks out.
An American Werewolf in London is on an objective level the best Werewolf movie out there for your money. It's honestly a shame we don't have more, but we'd need about a hundred more before we can beat this picture. On a subjective level American Werewolf is still not my favorite. The carnage is slow to arrive, but when it finally does it is well worth the wait. The characters are not particularly charming or engaging. I spend a lot of time waiting for my favorite parts to happen and not particularly enjoying the spaces in between. Some horror flicks set up an atmosphere that just makes the whole film feel like a part of the cohesive horror experience and this movie doesn't. It has too much of a love story between two not particularly loveable characters. It's never a bad time to watch, it's just not as fun as you'd expect the "best horror comedy ever' to be.
To keep it short, An American Werewolf in London is a bleak and frightening monster movie with positively impressive special effects that hold up 40 years later. You have to see it.

Mousie’s New and Improved Top 20 Cdramas List
Because why not. These are ordered in terms of being my favorite as opposed to pure quality - if I was trying to be objective, it would probably be rearranged, but I like being petty and subjective.
You will notice that literally every drama on this list is a period drama. Much as I adore period cdramas, contemporary ones rarely work for me.
20. Princess Agents (tie)
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll6x8zf2CnQ
Our heroine is a slave in a brutal society who becomes a feared general, fighting for freedom and love of a Yan prince. But her heart might actually lie with a seemingly cold adversary who is madly in love with her (I shipped them so hard!) I was one of five people who loved the infamous cliffhanger ending because it made a brutal kind of sense (You can read the novel if you want a different resolution.)
20. Tribes and Empires (tie)
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyRsPAGUz-Q
This one has a hell of an open ending, but it’s so gorgeous and epic, I don’t even care. Set in a fantasy empire, it follows three men - a half-human prince, a cursed son of a general, and an orphaned leader of a barbarian tribe. A feast for the eyes.
19. Ice Fantasy
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C05lhfrWgQg
A visually stunning high fantasy with elves, quests, a shockingly wonderful hero, brotherly love, toughest lady general ever as OTP and basically everything I like.
18. The General and I
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XDR17kwXYM
The lengthy OTP separation brings its place in this list down, but otherwise a gorgeous romance between two enemies - a general and a female strategist, is a total swoon and so intense.
17. Three Kingdoms 2010
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3RVpdYDpYA
This one is a magnum opus of 100 episodes, with a tour de force performance by Chen Jian Bin as Cao Cao. Battles, politics, and even though it’s very secondary, one of my favorite love stories in cdramas. This one is if you want to use your brain as well as your heart.
16. Colourful Bone
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4O5yb3VBh4
It probably doesn’t deserve to be this high on the list but it hits all my narrative and shippy kinks with a common-sense heroine taking in an abused and mistreated death machine and teaching him to be human. Mmmm.
15. Young Warriors
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO83qvKaoSM
What do you get when you have seven awesome heroic brothers, a star-studded cast, tragic stories about heroism and love and just amazingness? You get this drama.
14. Strange Hero Yi Zi Mei
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFVDAuFOyWE
Band of misfits fight corruption and uncover mysteries. This one is the most underrated drama on my list. Also, Wallace Huo has never been hotter in his life and that is saying something.
13. The Battle of Changsha
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbgFMaUfpnE
By the same people who wrote Minglan, this follows a family in 1930s China and is a quiet, devastating masterpiece.
12. Prince of Lan Ling
MV (warning - spoilery): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jUVGP0HETo
He’s the consummate battle god. She is a mystical shaman. He is fated to be with someone else per prophecy but he doesn’t care and chooses her. True love, politics, battles, jealousy, amazingness, tragedy. I love them so.
11. Gong/Jade Palace Lock Heart
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVFPVkHaweo
This is Boys over Flowers goes Qing (where Domyoji’s behavior finally makes sense since he’s a literal prince and Rui likes to kill people.) This is such a amazing good fun, about a modern woman time traveling to the time of the fight for the throne between Kangxi’s sons. She thinks she likes the seemingly gentle Four but ends up with hot-blooded, awesome Eight. She herself is tough as all get out and this is pure deliciousness from beginning to end. Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng had such amazing chemistry, people RPShipped them for years.
10. Return of the Condor Heroes 2006
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzXsBqVYp0I
My first cdrama ever, and what a gorgeous one it was. That’s what got me into cdramas. The childhood eps are pretty awful but after that, it’s pure shippy perfection with an incredible OTP. If you want to be in a constant romantic swoon, in that story of female master and her male disciple and their forbidden love, this one is for you.
9. Eternal Love/Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9-ry-W4Crg
Fated immortal lovers, reincarnations, the whole enchilada. Yang Mi and Mark Chao have insane chemistry that burns up the screen. The first few eps are slow, but it makes up for it afterwards.
8. Legend of Fuyao
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkMX1d0v7t0
A twisty epic romance with a super-powered heroine who is plain awesome and may destroy the world, and a smart, ruthless prince who’s only soft for her. I love it so much!
7. Legend of Condor Heroes 2008
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2fea109_qM
Plot twists, good guy hero with a mega smart OTP, tragic anti-hero who becomes a villain for a while with an amazing OTP, bromance, fights, everything. I just adore this one.
6. Bu Bu Jing Xin/Startling By Each Step
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9B3Rddrqt0
The one that started the time-travel craze (well, that and Gong), about a modern woman who time travels to the time of Emperor Kangxi’s sons’ fight for the throne, this is a gorgeously filmed tragic love story, with one of the most perfectly brutal endings out there. I adore it.
5. Nirvana in Fire
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4wps7SK9xo
This is a smart story about politics and revenge, where a survivor of a wrongly destroyed family comes to get justice. Seemingly laid back until it explodes. Not much romance but it doesn’t even need it.
4. Rise of the Phoenixes
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0BUvMKSj4E
Like the dramas to destroy you? Come right in. A story about a disfavored prince and a lost daughter of a previous dynasty, this is smart, gorgeous, and is going to wreck you.
3. Ever Night (s1)
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x99seU5qJuc
I have talked enough about it recently so I won’t say much more, but if you want epic, movie-like quality, characters you will love, amazing battles and cinematography, complicated world-building and an OTP to die for, come right in.
2. The Myth
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rfyfKM_Ww0
For the longest time, this was my favorite cdrama, to be replaced only by Minglan. It starts out funny and ends up tearing out your heart. This is the only time in my drama watching experience I cried so hard I threw up. The story is about two accidental time-travelers - a photographer and a cook - who end up in Qin Dynasty China. And from then on it’s about how that cruel, horrifying world takes two perfectly normal men and by wracking their very souls turns one into a hero and the other into a monster. To me, this is Hu Ge’s best performance and as you see his protagonist desperately try to hold on to his humanity and his love in a world that is doing its best to destroy it, I dare you not to cry like a baby. His character is my ultimate cdrama crush.
1. The Story of Minglan
MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA7m2QktiUk
Aaaaaand, my n1. cdrama is the amazing, too short at 73 eps, The Story of Minglan. It is very hard to describe the plot of this - a sort of Elizabeth Gaskell meets period China. It follows three interconnected upper-class families, but more specifically, it is about Shen Minglan, a concubine-born daughter of a minister and Gu Tingye, the oldest, legitimate, and hated by his family son of a Marquess. Their narratives run largely parallel for the first half of the story and such is the genius of this drama that I, the ultimate romance junkie, did not mind that. Minglan is a rarity in dramaworld - she is fiercely smart, very collected and emotionally detached. Life in the troubled Shen household taught her to survive and to hide her feelings and talents. Tingye is a big cdrama love. Abused and reviled by his household where he can do no right (the Marquess hated having to marry his merchant mother for money and has displaced that hate on her son), Tingye manages to keep his warm heart but acquires the ability to go his own way. Both of the protagonists are wonderful and smart and magnetic and rootable for separately, but when they get together, the sparks go off the charts and they become my n1 cdrama OTP of all time. A lot of the story is about family battles, women’s world dilemmas and relationship (of all sorts) interactions. There is also politics and battles, but the true charm of this drama are the mundane details of the world and the fully-fleshed out people who inhabit it. If you watch only one cdrama in your life, make it this one.
