Hi Reylo community!
Latest edit: First of all! —I am more than happy to help people who want to give podficcing a try, just send me a message and we can work out details, figure out answers to your questions, etc. I would just love to see more people recording podfics!
It’s easy to be a podficcer; nothing special is needed and I’m happy to provide tips for simple podficcing! In fact I sorta ramble about my process here in this Answered Ask and include 3 basic tutorials.
To the Reylo community at large (writers, artists, readers, lurkers, everyone!): If you could pick one of your, preferably, complete (or at least a fair number of chapters in and being updated) fanfics that you would like to have a podfic made out of... which would it be?
I’d love to create a list of works where authors have given permission to podfic their fics, whether short or long, and to contribute to the new Reylo Podfic Collection!
But I’d love to use this tumblr thread as a.... thought exercises, I suppose, and permission, too, for people to podfic your work.
While I do do podficcing for Marvel... it just makes me want to do so much more Reylo stuff! There’s so few pieces out there compared to the bevy of Marvel stuff, but honestly, every time there’s a new (Reylo) podfic—it breathes new life back into the fic, the author, the ship, the fandom..... plus you personally feel awesome for the performance high and for bringing a smile to the writer’s face. That’s the best thing ever and I adore doing it, no matter how ‘simple’ the podfic may be.

* “Please claim” even if just replying to this post or sending me an Ask or DM so I can edit the post. Mutiple podfics are flattering to the author but some podficcers really don’t like to be ‘one of many’. Absolutely valid. You can even create a placeholder AO3 ‘podfic’ and link it as inspired by said fic, so people can see that it’s being worked on... as long as permission has been granted first, or course, sillies! :)
** Although an unconventional fic format, this fic can certainly be podficced by using (1) different tones of voice for thoughts, fic summaries, different sorts of text, and/or (2) different tones of pings/chimes/whatever for the text messages from different characters, and/or (3) adding in an extra line of, for example: *ping* “text message from thekyloren reads as follows…” OR (4), if you want to get fancy, you could have some friends assist you by recording any of the messages from ‘their’ character. That would be a lot of fun, in fact! Another option is (5) where you would split your recordings and give an audible indication to read the message, followed again by a new audio file, etc. Only problem with this approach is if there are too many breaks in the audio and you end up going from one to the other too many times in a row.

I’m a die-hard TFA Kylo Ren fangirl (it’s my favourite of the trilogy, I know), and this divergence tugs the threads unravelled in the interrogation scene to a very satisfying conclusion, re: Rey and Kylo see their shared future a lot sooner, before the elevator scene in TLJ, and start to understand what they mean to one another. Soooooo good. (Rated G)
Air and Water by Flaignhan
The tender and thorough examination of Ben and Rey’s relationship, what it is, how it completes her, and their wholesome being-together that we ache for across three films. Better than cozying up with a hot cup of cocoa on a rainy day. (Rated G)
What She’s Worth by g_girl143
If Rey had been taken in by the Jedi Academy as a child and basically raised by Ben Solo. Hear me out. This love story is innocent and organic and is so well navigated that by the end you’re just like, yeah, of course, there was no other way that could have happened. The *potential* is what it gives us. I need to read it again, slowly and to savour, and happily await the sequel! (Rated T)

Kylo Ren sacrifices himself to save Rey when they are stranded in a malfunctioning ship. If you’re like me, and you like angsty grand gestures of love more than sexy times, this one is gourmet Reylo. I’m so into the not-looking-directly at their feelings and extending that sweet pain for as looooong as possible. Because, one brain cell! (Rated G)

Post-TROS, the only epilogue I will accept (except for Cleave, also by englishable). Ben is brought to trial; Rey stands by him throughout; they figure out how to go on together. It’s so wholesome and satisfying. Let the healing begin! (Rated M)

Some good TFA Kylo Ren being inexplicably soft with Rey and her Force-conceived twins. Both of them have issues. Both of them really, really love those babies. It earns the happily ever after, which you know I appreciate so much in a fic. (Rated M)

Killing Me Softly by AlbaStarGazer
I’m not a big AU person but the premise of this is so good and works really well with the characters as we know them in canon. I also really appreciate a fic that isn’t afraid to look at the work of love.
Ben and Rey, childhood sweethearts, married, are put to the test for three years after Ben gets in a terrible accident and forgets Rey. She’s won’t give up on him, but she’s too hung up on the past. He’s in love with her but afraid that all she sees is a memory, and not the person he is now. Some really good character study and hurt/comfort with a happy ending.

Kylo doesn’t understand why someone so powerful would act so lowly, but when he pushes Rey hard, he finds out there’s more to her than he bargained for. Or did he see it all along? (Rated M)

After The Rise of Sywalker I could see things getting worse before they got better. If Kylo Ren had buckled down on the darkness after soul-crushing rejection from Rey and the trauma of seeing Luke again, how in the world would he walk back from that? I’ve got it tagged “dominant Kylo Ren” but I’m not into abusive stuff, so don’t expect that! I do however love the angst. (Rated T)
Kylo Ren took the galaxy, and Kylo Ren takes Rey. There’s nothing left for him to accomplish, Vader’s vision is complete – only he’s still in pain. And no matter how he manoeuvres around the scavenger girl, it’s not easing up.

I was tagged in a challenge where I will tell 3 random facts about myself.
It seemed fun, so here we go:
1. I have some things I feel I have to/need to repeat 3 times. If it happens that I forget, then I can not sleep. Such as locking the car 3 times. Or lock the front door 3 times every time I get home and before I go to bed for the night. If I watch a good movie, I have to watch it 3 times in a row! ♻️
2. I can read peoples personality through their eyes. I can look into the eyes of people and expose them to their personality without even getting to know them first. I quickly notice if there are people who are genuinely kind and also expose those who are not quite as kind. People's behavior has never shocked me and if someone has behaved outside their character, it has always been expected from me from the start. BUT this is not something I say to anyone, only my closest friends knows it. People should always get a chance, even if I already know...you know?😂🤫
3. Haha, the last one is probably a little weird but I love to walk around naked at home. As soon as I walk in the door, all my clothes are gone. I do not like the feeling of feeling clothes close to my body, and feel that they push and suffocate me. Maybe it's the hippie in me idunno? It is a liberating and delicious feeling being bareskinned. Someone pulls off their bra and puts on their sweatpants when they get home, I pull off everything and do things naky-naky-naked🥴

I just posted chapter 12 of The Elephant In the Room.
This story started out as humorous commentary on the “Are they related?” debate, but as I shipped the two more and more, it morphed into a full-fledged Reylo story featuring Awkward!Kylo Ren, Annoying! Force Ghost Anakin and Meddling! Leia. It is rated T.

PS This story has been in the works for awhile but it’s still my first Reylo fic and hasn’t been widely read, so I believe it fits the criteria for Reylos To Reblog, which I have just discovered. BTW, what an awesome idea. I’ve found (and commented on) several great new fics because of this.

Rey is a slave on Jakku. Kylo Ren picks up on her Force sensitivity and “buys” her. Cue side comments from everyone that he just wants to sleep with her, to which he is bewildered and frustrated. Kylo doesn’t understand why someone so powerful would act so lowly, but when he pushes Rey hard, he finds out there’s more to her than he bargained for. Or did he see it all along? (Rated M)

Fic Summary: Months after the battle of Crait, Supreme Leader Ren has his Knights of Ren conducting a secret search of the galaxy for the whereabouts of Rey. The Resistance, meanwhile, has sought refuge on the planet Naboo, hoping to evade the First Order long enough to rebuild. Both Kylo and Rey assumed the bond between had been broken, but abruptly it is reignited as they both feel the pull towards each other and a greater balance in the force.

He looked back at Rey. “When Snoke admitted to bridging our minds, I thought that explained the connection. But either what he created could not be broken simply by his death or he was lying and it was created another way.”
“That day,” Rey said suddenly. He looked at her, confused. “When you used the force to read my mind, when I was your prisoner. I pushed you out and went into your mind instead. What if that was when it was created?”
Bested by a girl who had barely held a lightsaber! The words of his former master echoed in his head and he frowned. He had been wounded, both physically and emotionally after he killed his father when he had lost to Rey, but maybe there had been more to it than that.
