Unpopular K-Pop Opinion
So....I didn't really like Pink Venom from Blackpink. I've listened to the song a few times and I cannot recall the song (that's not good). I know this is a pre-release but I hope that the actual comeback is better. Cause it felt like a step back from Lovesick Girls, in terms of line distribution, like it was the Jennie and Lisa show.
And in terms of the MV...did they recycle sets? Because the MV felt like a mix of Kill This Love and How You Like That

No tea, no shade. I kind of feel like the ateez hypetrain has gone and the group has fallen off the main radar. I'm not sure if it's because of many online Atinys trying to draw similarities to BTS' origin story or the overuse of early media play pushing out the "next BTS" narrative. But I feel as though many ateez has fallen off compared to other 4th gen groups that debuted the same year as them. I also noticed the trend that many fams who ult Ateez started as late Armys & didnt get to watch BTS themselves grow.
I'm a casual ateez listener and older kpop stan and this is just something I've noticed watching how this group influxes back and forth compared to other 4th gen boygroups that debuted in 2018.

Unpopular Opinion: WOODZ is the best idol producer. None of the others can compare.💅

I am and will always be against idols debuting at a very young age. Considering how intense the industry is, it can be very traumatic for someone so young, on top of that it is also the time when kids learn from their errors but with such a strict cancel culture it does not leave much scope for them to grow well. Like even in early 20s people still learn from trial and error and its already pretty hard so imagine how much worse it would be for teens.
People will come at me saying "But you stan a group who debuted at a really young age" firstly yes I do but I stanned them when they were already adults and I am also very familiar with all the stuff my favorite group had to go through as ones who debuted in their teens so I am even more cautious of the consequences

Ok so idk if this is me projecting my own insecurities and body dysmorphia, but can y’all stop commenting “body goals” on idols’ pictures?? Like y’all know the disgusting diet industry of Kpop so why would you comment on an idol’s body like that?? Idols struggle with body image issues for years and years on end and they starve themselves (or worse) to fit an unattainable image. It’s not only bad for the idol’s perception of self worth, but also young girls seeing this post and seeing your comment. I know very well that people as young as 11/12 years old (sometimes younger) listen to Kpop. If these young girls see your comment and think that this is what their body should look like, they’ll struggle with self worth if they don’t resemble this person that they admire so deeply. Idk if it’s that deep or if these comments are meant to be flattering or if they come from a good place, but it seriously needs to stop. Furthermore, imagine your idol seeing that comment and just getting flashbacks of when they weren’t called “pretty enough” or “thin enough” just because they had a different body type at the time. If I’m wrong, please educate me as to why. I’m open to discussion. However, seeing this over and over on different posts is making me so sick to my stomach.

My (Maybe) Unpopular K-Pop Opinions
Hello Everyone!
I don’t really post a lot about myself, but now that I’ve somehow gained close to 500 followers, I figured it was time to do another ‘About Me’ post of sorts. This one though is going to be focused more on my potentially unpopular K-pop opinions.
Quick Disclaimer: These are just my opinions and you do not have to agree with me. However, please be respectful. Also, I’m not looking to offend someone, just express some opinions I may not usually.
Okay, let’s jump in!
Idols should not debut before age 16.
Now this isn’t a hard and fast rule. If an idol gets the proper protection from their companies and the entire group is not under age, I don’t mind it so much. However, 16 is very young to enter such a brutal industry. It’s one thing to train and it’s another thing to be an idol. Under age idols are constantly subject to sexualization—particularly female idols, but it does happen with male idols too.
K-pop CEOs need to stop being idolized/romanticized
I’m sorry, but Bang PD is not a daddy. In fact, he’s pretty problematic, but so many people ignore it because he created BTS. Let’s be clear, he wasn’t the one scouting them. Also, it reminds me of how the Directioners (including my teenage self lol) romanticized Simon Cowell because he put together 1D. Yet, his company lost both 1D and Little Mix because of widespread mistreatment.
Kpop CEOs are businessmen. Many only care about their idols for the money. I’m not saying you can’t admire them or respect them, but let’s not be our her romanticizing them, okay? (Memes are one thing but it’s gone a bit far sometimes).
Dice should’ve been Nmixx’s debut song
I really do not understand the hate ‘Dice’ has gotten. It’s the perfect amount of experimental and the concept was quite unique imo. I feel like the members got to shine more.
Loco was Itzy’s last good comeback
I love Itzy, don’t get me wrong, I think a lot of the hate they get is absolutely unfounded and ridiculous. However, the last few comebacks have just not been good and their image almost seems to be going backward. Their current songs are too young for the now fully adult members. These are songs I would’ve expected in their debut era. I honestly think it’s a disservice to the members and I really want to see them return to their bad ass and independent image.
EXID is tragically underrated
It is so rare for girl groups to write their own songs and EXID has been doing so since the second generation. Not to mention, LE is the unsung rapper of Kpop. She’s literally mentored Hyuna and Soyeon (rumored, but likely as it’s well known she’s a rap mentor for Cube).
K-Pop companies should educate their idols in cultural and race issues
This is not to say that individual idols do not have culpability in racist actions, but Korea is a very homogenous country and for those fully raised there, I would expect some level of ignorance. However, if you choose to enter such a public career, it is a duty to learn about other cultures, cultural appropriation, etc. The companies have the budget and ability to do this on a systemic level.
Most idols are forced to have eating disorders
I should preface this by saying that I have been recovering from an eating disorder for about a year. I’m also not out here diagnosing anyone, but the Ah companies force their idols to eat is alarming. Whenever I hear idols talk about food, they often mirror my disordered thoughts about food. Idols should not have to have meal coupons or not get to eat. Instead, K-pop (including the fans) need to accept different body types which are natural.
Thanks and let me know if you want to see more of these types of posts.

joohoney amazes me and here's why.
first of all, picking such a cute stage name while being a legendary rapper in a group where the concept is 'badass'... iconic.
and not only is his name cute but he's fucking cute. and he thrives off of it. basically the king of aegyo. we know this. and when he does it, it's not even cringe at all. he's just cute. which makes him fucking good at it.
he's got phenomenal vocals on top of being the main rapper. him and changkyun bounce off of each other so well, their chemistry on stage is unmatched.

Something I'll always scream on the top of my lungs that I can feel is super duper califragilisticexpialidociously real is that kpop stans wouldn't hate BTS if they weren't BTS. Ya'll always want humble begins but when it's BTS it don't count and to be honest it's kinda silly because the people you shoot so hard for, would pew pew you for a bts member. I'm just saying...

kep1ian is a good fandom name for kep1er, and kep1er isn’t a bad name at all. k-pop stans are just allergic to numbers
kep1er’s name and fandom name have received criticism for being silly sounding but i think it’s fine and those that are being critical just don’t get it. kep1ian makes us fans sound like alien beings and isn’t that cool? plus it’s better than whatever kep1er’s fans were cooking before the name reveal; like keepers was one i saw a lot and i never liked it at all.. and the names people were coming up with before the name was revealed to be kep1er? awful. for example, COSMIX was one i saw a lot and it looks boring and more like a makeup brand or something. asteria was another and THAT sounds like a land in some mid rpg. 9alaxy just looks tacky. we don’t talk about gi99le. and every fucker on reddit going ‘tee hee dayeon and friends lol get it’ you were never funny. kep1er sounds cool and rolls off the tongue well and i swear people only shit on it because it has a number in it AS IF OTHER GROUPS DONT HAVE NUMBERS IN THEIR NAME (ahem NCT 127, ab6ix, that one boy group under MLD ent). plus it’s futuristic and space themed isn’t that neat
Propaganda is always encouraged!
And remember to reblog your favourite polls for exposure!

Unpopular K-Pop Opinion
I feel uncomfortable with NewJeans, specially after seeing photos of grown ass man that can be twice their age going to their fanmeets. I truly feel uncomfortable with it.
I don't like the idea of sexualizing minor idols at all. It doesn't sit weel with me.

to me at least, the ‘Born Pink’ album has an odd energy. It feels… rushed, and the songs don’t feel related at all. ‘The Album’ was mostly cohesive, and it was clear that all the songs had been written explicitly for the project.
The songs on ‘Born Pink’ are fun, but none of them come close to to ‘The Album’s tracks. I’m not seeing the ‘Pretty Savage’ of this new album, or a song like ‘Bet You Wanna’ that, while slower to boil, is one of blackpinks best.
It’s the producers of ‘Typa Girl’ thinking that the song was for Lisa’s solo project.
It’s ‘Hard To Love’ being a Rosé solo despite that being completely unpromoted by YG (and it not even showing up as a Rosé song on Spotify), and none of the other members get solos to boot.
It’s ‘Ready For Love’ being released on an album with EIGHT TRACKS, despite it being a promotional release for a video game, and a song that had already been leaked in it’s entirety since it’s inclusion on their Netflix documentary.
It’s every song (save for the pre release and the title track) feeling like a first draft of another song. ‘Typa Girl’ is like ‘Money’, ‘Tally’ is like ‘Really’ and ‘Hard To Love’ is a watered down memory of ‘Gone’ and ‘On The Ground’.
And I like some of these songs, and the three mentioned previously are honestly my favourites from the record, but none of them come close to even the worst of ‘The Album’s track list.
What I’m trying to say is, I fully believe this album was just whatever Teddy could pull out of the hard drive. It’s disappointing, to say the least.

Kpop fans, especially the non white, non east asian female fans should not idolise the kpop idols' / kdrama actress' body type and looks. We are built different, our genetics are different, we are not as thin, our hair has a different texture, our skin is not as clear as thiers. Comparison is pointless. Be fit and healthy <3

I came across this tweet saying everything in kpop is staged including dropping CAKES as well. And when I think about it in context to Day6 it feels funny
Like how many takes did it take for them to the the shot of Wonpil 'accidentally' dropping those kimbaps he made. Did they even force him to add too much salt in the seaweed soup he made.
And do they keep him up all night and go " if you dont tell mydays 'I LOVE YOU' 100 times exactly we are going to cut fifty percent of you pay"
I am not saying this actually happens but thinking everything is staged in kpop sure feels funny
