Enjoy Upthere for the both of us
TW - panic, separation, mention of death.
“M-man, it's strange being back in the Underwhere after so long. Sure brings back memories, eh bro?” the green capped man lightly nudged his distracted brother and gave him a weak smile.
It was really strange. They knew their time was limited, they dreaded it as time grew near, but now that death had ironically taken them both at the same time they weren't as scared. The knowledge of where they were to end up and that they would still be together must have helped ease their nerves, plus they were thankful that their passings were calm and peaceful.
The brothers held hands as they walked down the hall and passed D-men who barely spared them a glance to get to the queen of this realm. Queen Jaydes. She stood tall as she patiently watched them approach her and give her respectful bows.
“My condolences, Mario and Luigi.”
“We hope you and Grambi have been well, Jaydes” Mario politely said after rising back up to look up at her.
“We are and it is thanks to you two and your friends that we are allowed to continue doing so. We also thank you for not letting our daughter's sacrifice be in vain” the queen responded, giving the two a small smile of gratitude.
Mario offered his own smile but it wavered a bit. He took a deep breath and asked her, “Do you perhaps know how Peach has been? I hope she is being treated well in the Upthere. I really miss her…”.
Peach's passing hadn't been easy for anyone in the kingdom, especially Mario. He missed her more and more each day he lived and though he may not be able to join her in the afterlife, he hoped her spirit was happy as a Nimbi.
“She's doing well, last I heard from Grambi. She really misses you.” answered Jaydes, receiving a thank you nod from Mario.
“Now, we must delay no further. Your judgements shall be revealed” announced the queen of the Underwhere, taking a bit of time to go over their actions and deeds in life.
Mario held Luigi's hand tightly and shut his eyes as he waited. He really wanted to enjoy Upthere with Peach and Luigi, but he wasn't going to hold his breath. Sure, the two had saved countless lives and suffered many dangers during their adventures but that could not lessen their crimes. They had ended up here when they fought Count Bleck back then, unlike Peach, and they could not deny their fates. At least he still had Luigi with him. Nothing could harm them as long as they're together.
Finally, Queen Jaydes gave her judgement. “Fate has smiled upon you, Mario. Peach will be delighted to hear the news of your arrival to Upthere”.
He opened his eyes and stared at her in utter shock. Was this…was this true? Was he truly going to the Upthere? Was he going to see Peach again? He couldn't believe it.
He laughed happily and thanked Jaydes profusely, turning to Luigi and grabbing his shoulders in pure joy.
“D-did you hear that Lu?! We're going to the Upthere! We're all going to be together again! We'll be Nimbis like Peach and live on clouds! Isn't that amazing?!”
Luigi didn't show the same excitement as Mario did, only giving him a small smile. It was a happy smile, of course, but it was also sad. This confused Mario and brought his own excitement down.
“Luigi? Hey, what's wrong? Aren't you excited?” Mario asked his younger twin softly, growing more confused when Luigi took a step away from him.
“Tell Peach I said hi when you get there, ok bro…?” was all Luigi said.
It finally clicked at that moment. Jaydes had only said Mario's name, not both of their names. But why?! He had done as many crimes so why was only Luigi getting the short end of the stick?!
“What's going on? Why can't you come along?! How is this fair?!” Mario asked in a panic, looking between Luigi and Jaydes for an explanation which the queen provided.
“Your brother really loves you, Mario. He was adamant that you deserved to be in a better place than this. He made a deal with me to ensure your place in the Upthere while he stays here in the Underwhere with me”, explained Jaydes.
“Don't worry, bro, I'll be fine. Besides, I'm glad I can still be useful by helping Jaydes with the roudier souls…” Luigi tried to calm Mario's rising panic.
Mario was not willing to listen, “Have you lost your mind?! Do you have any idea who you will be stuck here with all alone?! You can't do this! End the deal, I'm not going anywhere without you!” shouted Mario.
This declare was taken as a sign that the D-men would need to step in, getting ahold of Mario and started dragging him away to the gates of the Upthere. Mario struggled against them and demanded they let him go, pleading with Luigi to not leave him and begging for Jaydes to not do this.
All Jaydes did was bow her head in guilt as Luigi tried to keep a smile on his face despite the tears running down his face. Mario could feel feathery wings form on his back the closer he was dragged to the gates but his focus was on his brother and his transformation into a Shayde. He started crying, his begging growing louder and more desperate as struggled against the D-men and reached out towards Luigi.
“Enjoy Upthere for the both of us, bro. I love you…” Luigi softly said, his voice quivering from trying to keep his sobs in.
The gates opened and Mario was forcefully thrown past them.
“LUIGI!!!”

River Twygz Bed.
There's no scarier place in the Mario franchise than the River Twigz Bed. Just the OST alone is haunting. Which makes it one of my favorite parts of the game.
I wanted this one to look similar to those water themed Horror movie covers; like The Meg, The Deep House, or Jaws.
I'm a big horror fan so I love incorporating that into my art when possible.

Day 9: Imps Spell
I am currently still working on editing my first chapter/part of Spm so I decided to throw in another twinktober piece. Here is Twinktober: The Ultimate Soup day 9: Imps spell. You can blame @lizadale for me having to draw an imp Dio. This class fits him so well. Poor underwhere Gigi has his hands cut out for him. Another new style attempt and a new line art inking pen test to see if I like this one.

Not me sitting around here thinking about how Luigi woke up in the River Twygz with no memory, a burning pain he can't place, the garbled pleas of the damned all around him as a glut of terrifying Underhands grope at his body, trying to pull him into deepest, most foul viscera of the Underwhere.

Fun facts
Some fun facts you didn't know about the game:
The torches found in the Underwhere, and that we can light with the help of Bowser, only last 40 seconds on.
Another references to other Super Mario games:
In chapter 3-4 we can find many references, all of these are:
Francis has a Famicom, a Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a Virtual Boy, a Nintendo 64, a Nintendo GameCube, a Game Boy if (the player turns of 3D) a Wii.
Francis has a large number of posters featuring Lady Bow and Bootler (this marks Lady Bow's second cameo in Super Paper Mario), Petuni, Princess Peach, and other less identifiable characters.
Mega Koopa is identical to a Koopa Troopa de Super Mario Bros. en NES.
Big Blooper is a miniboss in The Tile Pool; Bloopers have had at least a mini-boss role in every Paper Mario game to date.
Bowser declares that there will be no more sequels; Many Mario games have at least one sequel, and Bowser is defeated in all Paper Mario sequels.
Francis is a big fan of certain television shows, whose names are full of references to characters from the Paper Mario series, like The Blubbening, which apparently involves Tubba Blubba (In this way, Super Paper Mario becomes the third consecutive Paper Mario game to appear). at least mention a giant Spike in their corresponding third chapters), Starship X-Naut, apparently focusing on the X-Nauts, and The Grodus Chronicles, which seems to feature Sir Grodus.
The overworld music has several interludes, in which segments of the Super Mario Bros theme can be clearly heard.
The player must take the second Warp Pipe in the Warp Zone-like area to advance the level, which may be a reference to Super Mario Bros., as Mario or Luigi must take the second pipe in the Warp Zone if they wish to take a shortcut to World 3.

The mirror hall in Flipside is called Mirror Mansion and Mansion Rorrim in Flopside. The eight colored blocks are, from left to right: red (#1), orange (#2), yellow (#3), green (#4), light blue (#5), dark blue (#6), purple (#7) and black (#8). All blocks are unlit initially. The goal is to light all blocks.
Hitting #1 changes the state of #1, #3, #5, #6 and #8.
Hitting #2 changes the state of #1, #2, #4, #6 and #7.
Hitting #3 changes the state of #1, #3, #4, #5 and #7.
Hitting #4 changes the state of #2, #3, #4, #5 and #8.
Hitting #5 changes the state of #1, #2, #3, #5 and #7.

SPM Fanfic- Post Mortem Memoir of a Learned Fool
Preface- Here, I shall chronicle my post-defeat observations between daily judgement summons by Jaydes. Her Highness lacks a merciful nature, so notes may be sporadic.
My defeat at the hands of those heroes proclaimed by the Light Prognosticus has forced me to reflect on my experiences as I bide my time here in the realm of roaming shadows. Despite my past usage of darkness to hide my presence, even I now grow tired of this twilight veil that shrouds my waking moments and I ache for something new to occupy myself. I suppose it was only a matter of time; I’m not worried, though, as waiting has always been my strong suit. Queen Jaydes has me under routine surveillance and would strike me down should I disappear from beneath her careful watch. My stay in the Underwhere shall be a while. While some of the following was quite obvious from the start, other facts only revealed themselves to me towards the apex of my plan for a new, better world. I wish I had been more perceptive… perhaps more cautious.
War veterans can be directionless cowards.
One cannot force a sense of humility upon entitled people (especially prissy little girls).
With the proper influence, it is rather simple to corrupt an innocent soul with its own shadow.
Those who present themselves as superior aren’t as well put-together as they appear.
Even the strongest wills can shatter from the fickle pulse of love.
I have also learned that as I suspected, I myself am the only person I can safely trust. Any backup plan is better than none. No matter how long I think myself someone’s confidant, no matter how competent my service and unwavering my loyalty, faith in others leaves me vulnerable to betrayal. In due time, everyone’s actions unleash their true character. Vengeance is a wonderful motivator. My patience knows no bounds even in the face of abject hypocrisy and mediocrity. It is possible to leave the dimension of the dead more than once.

Super Multiverse Guardians AU
Had the idea for alternate versions of SMG3 & 4 that are extradimensional beings called Super Multiverse Guardians meant to keep watch over the SMG4 multiverse (so the canon timeline and all the various AUs people have made), and some kind of major threat comes that requires them to put together their own version of the Crew made up of different versions of them each from a separate universe. I've only got the two of them and the Mario Bros figured out though.
The SMGs go by nicknames to differentiate themselves from their counterparts. SMG4 goes by "Rune" while SMG3 goes by "Hax." They were both originally from their own normal AUs that got destroyed somehow, and were saved and brought up to their current status by the previous Super Meme Guardians. Rune is from an urban fantasy setting and was a mage, while Hax is a Reploid and former Maverick Hacker because his universe was based on the Megaman X series instead of the Super Mario franchise.
The Mario they find is from a Bad End version of "It's Gotta be Perfect" where they didn't manage to save 4, the Creep no-selled Swag's bombs thanks to the keyboard not getting destroyed and then started spreading beyond the castle, and a few years later the whole planet's overtaken and Mario's one of the few survivors, with all but a few stubborn pockets of civilization either dead or Changed into one of 4's seemingly endless "Redesigns." In Mario's case, he wanders the wastes of the world, searching for a way to either save SMG4...or kill him. He's also caring for an Inkling egg (not related to Meggy. She is very much gone) he found on his travels, which is just about the only reason he hasn't given up hope and mercy-killed the universe yet (and yes that implies exactly what you think it does).
In Luigi's case...well...technically he's not Luigi. At least not at the moment. See, in his universe the SMG4 Crew went through a... mostly faithful adaptation of Super Paper Mario as one of their arcs. I say mostly because of the obvious Memes and extra characters, but also because in this version, Dimentio sending Mr. L to the Underwhere didn't turn him back into Luigi, and the Floro Sprout shenanigans and Super Dimentio thing at the end of the game scrambled his already washed brain so badly that Nastasia couldn't undo her spell. So now they're stuck with Mr. L until they somehow find a way to get him back to normal. Thankfully like the rest of Bleck's minions he's not really evil anymore but he's still... himself, unfortunately.
...Yeah I'm kind of having Rune and Hex grab Bargain Bin versions of the Crew if you couldn't tell so expect more angsty backstories, morally dubious teammates, and clashing personalities down the line.
