Hi!! Your art is so fucking cool! Can I ask what the process looks like for form line? Ex. What do your sketches look like when they are really rough? How do you go from idea -> final product. 💕

Hadih, thanks so much for your question!

Honestly, it's sort of hard to explain? I do have some sketches to sort of give an idea though.

This sketch I posted a couple days ago is a pretty good example of what my initial concept sketches sometimes look like.. As you can see, they're pretty chaotic and very rough, and usually these sketches are more about getting the idea down then actually making the formline itself. There aren't formline shapes just yet, although I do sometimes sketch out elements or shapes like eyes or bodies or paws/hands that will usually have an ovoid in it, because those elements tend to be a focus or centerpiece. The sketch is obviously not final, and things can change along the way to account for space and balance as well as what I'm trying to convey. (These sketches aren't entirely accurate of course because they're for pieces that are meant to be fusions of character illustrations and formline art, but they're the best thing I can find on my pc at the moment)

The rough sketch helps me figure out the flow of the piece, and once I'm satisfied with it I try and get to putting down the shapes and silhouette, and it's here where I try to find the balance with my rough sketch and how the shapes can fit and behave in the piece to the best of their limits while also still conveying the message I want to send. The most common shape I start with is the focus shapes, which are usually ovoids.

This rough of my harbor seal formline which I sent to my aunt for review sort of gives a better Idea of what I mean when I say I try and focus on where the centerpoints will be. Ovoids are usually a focus, so you can see them pop up a lot; in the body, the head, the eyes, the tail, etc. Ovoids are so important and probably the most common shape in formline art, and one of the most common feedback I get from my aunt is to adjust how the ovoid looks in any one of my pieces; she often compared them to a loaf of bread! You don't want your ovoids to look like a loaf of bread! (Her words, not mine). I feel like I've gotten better at drawing ovoids though, because she gives it as feedback less and less nowadays. Ovoids usually also have to have a bit of weight/perspective to them; it's hard to describe but essentially the top of the ovoid should usually be bigger/thicker/have more weight then the bottom.

From ovoids, the next shapes are usually circles, u-shapes and crescents, then usually y-shapes/trigons. It can be difficult, because the key is to make sure the shapes flow together and feel cohesive, as well as to make sure the negative/positive space balance feels right. Also a fun tidbit, trigons are most typically used to essentially fill space; it's always important to make sure that they are binding bigger shapes like u-shapes and ovoids and not stealing all the space and attention.

The lines in this stage tend to be very rough and messy, and I always try to go over the next rough draft with a smoother and cleaner pen.

Once the initial shapes are done, I'll usually send the piece to my aunt (sometimes I send them earlier on, when I'm in the middle of working out the shapes) for feedback! I am still a student in formline work after all; basically all of my teachings come from my aunt, who has a lot more years of work in formline art then me. She'll give me feedback and tips of what she thinks I should fix or experiment with. I adjust and fix and sometimes even completely delete and redo parts of the piece with her guidance. The list of things she tells me to change decreases with each piece, so I like to take that as a sign that I'm improving!

Once the black and white version of the design is done, I move onto coloring. Usually I already have a color scheme in mind when I go into a piece, so I'll mess around and put down colors and see how well they contrast before I color it. Typically, a piece will have about 3 colors; one for the background, one primary color, and one secondary color. I use a clipping layer to color the entire formline piece with the primary color, and then go in with the pen tool and bucket tool to use the secondary color. Adding in the secondary color is tricky but important because it once again falls into balancing positive and negative space/colors and the transitions between the two.

Once coloring is done, the project is basically finished! Unless there are some other plans I have for it, ie using it for an overlay in a bigger piece, colouring is usually the final stage.

And that's about it! I hope this helps you understand a bit; this isn't a perfect explanation as this is just from my own artistic POV and other nations and artists have their own process, but I hope it helps nonetheless!!

An update on my unfinished au’s!

I have over the last few months fallen deeply out of love with the Sanders Sides series and as a result I have not updated any of my projects in some time. At the current point I am at I am only planning to do the final two installments in the cupid au (because I pretty much lost my affection for the ts series right before the big finale of the project!!) and the lust Roman au (as it is my longest running work to date and I want to comple the project as a show of dedication to my younger self) although it will most likely be on a much quicker time scale than I was intending originally! (Instead of the 11 more parts I was hoping to produce it will probably be closer to 5 and I will most likely skip a few parts of the story that weren’t as important)

I feel a lot of affection for the work I have created but not a lot for the actual series so I’m trying to find a way to rework the stories I’ve created for the au’s to become independent creations that I will enjoy continuing to make! (Aside from the Lust au which I feel is mostly a story I don’t feel the need to come back to/rework since it relies so heavily on the source material) Most of my au’s function as stories mostly separate from canon material except for the characters archetypes present in each, so I’ll be working on retooling/reskinning said work to be more original and workable as long term projects! (Since u guys were really invest in my plots which had almost nothing to do with the canon characterization)

I’m currently working on retooling the Zombie au (Which I used as heavy inspiration for my oc Sophia I sometimes post about and her girlfriend) the Cupid au (I’m putting together more creative designs for the characters so that I can hopefully redo the comic- since I’m super in love with the concept) The sleeping beauty au (since it functions entirely the same as a stand alone story- and I could use the designs of my princess characters from that comic I made a long time ago for Valentine’s Day ) and the Super hero au! (Which I never properly defined and thus have a lot of incomplete ideas for, and my only struggle is coming up with better super hero names for them)

The only one of my main au’s I probably won’t rework is the Evil king au- just because I’m not sure how I could retool it to not just be a story about abuse(I feel more comfortable creating a story where everything is horrible and bad and the people involved are just bad for eachother when it’s an au- because there is other work of those characters where they aren’t that way to balance it out- but if it were my own new characters I feel as though it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to read or write)

This is a series of decisions I’ve been trying to wait on for a long time because I have been hoping something sanders Sides related would come out soon that would re spark my interest but nothing so far has happened- and with the way the story is going I don’t think it’s something that is going to happen. I still love all the work I have created for this fandom and I am so proud of all the collaborative projects I have been able to create with you all! I will happily re-read your asks and comments on my comics and I am still really proud of the community I’ve been able to create!

I’m sad to let this part of my life go (it’s taken up a solid 4th of my lifetime) and I understand that a lot of you all won’t follow me to my new projects- because I understand you guys didn’t come here for random oc projects- or original comics. And Altho it breaks my heart to see some of you move on and leave my notifications I am happy I the time with you all that I did!

I think I underestimated how long it will take me to get back on my feet. It's hard to find energy for anything and I'm honestly just tired of being tired😮‍💨

Unfortunately, that means I won't be posting stuff for now. The commissions will be delayed too, probably till mid-June, since I don't want to open the slots only to be unable to draw.

Ngl I'm in a slump rn regarding creating stuff for fandom in general. Probably because my mental health took a blow along with my physical health. I can fake it till I make it and joke around about being ill, but it's just not sustainable all the time. Rn is one of those times.

Drawing the piece I posted yesterday took all of my energy. Literally all of it. My hands were shaking and my wrist hurt the entire time, and I had to redo so many lines bc of that... And the piece got barely any notes anyway, so I feel like I posted it for nothing. I could have just shared it on my Discord and called it a day. Same difference.

I guess it just felt extra discouraging bc it took extra effort to do it? Idk. I don't think I want to unpack those feelings atm.

Anyhow, I hope I'll be back to posting stuff soon, but for now I'm on a semi-hiatus till mid-June to recover and get myself back together. I might post something in the meantime, I might not. We'll see. The point is rn I don't feel like creating for ppl outside of my immediate circle and that is that.

something that i really don't want to happen, it just happen... I lost my entire Postcard legacy save file...1st i lost my back up which a new save file its randomly deleted in game. i'm not sure why that's happen..then i try open the old save file,its all gone...and now i feel lost....i just play with the twins yesterday ( u guys already see the post today) and its fine but today when i try to redo their apartment that save file gone..i tried to find it on the ea file but it just gave me frustrated..

if u guys been follow me since day 1, u may know that postcard legacy was my 1st legacy challenge that i post here on tumblr, i make friends...now. i lost half of me..yes PLC are half of me..its already 8 month with the same save file and only gen 4 i transfer them to the new save file cause i can't handle glitch and now i lost everything. i only have the character in my gallery. i know i can just continue what already i have and make a new save file but for me its a big no. so,what i just what to say..thank you soo much to everyone who support my PLC content, giving me inspired, and some of u even wants to collab with me but its not gonna happen..( i will dm her) and i might go on a hiatus for a while for a recovery but my Random legacy and my 2 mini series will still gonna be up as usual at the same time next week. - bye for now love kyra

Summary: After your home is ransacked by a group of strange men, you and your cousin are taken in by a group of outlaws. And that’s when the trouble really starts.

You couldn’t remember the last time you had so wanted to die.

In the darkness of the cellar, you could barely make out Sadie’s form, but you could hear her ragged and furious breaths, and could feel how badly she was trembling. You tightened your grip on her nightgown, both to keep yourself grounded and to try and calm her down.

You felt her shift, and instinctively moved closer to her. “They have to sleep sometime.” She muttered, and you weren’t entirely sure if she was talking to you or herself. “And once they do, we’re gonna slit their fucking throats.”

A shiver went down your spine. You had never seen Sadie this vicious before. But then, what should you expect, given how brutally Jake was killed by men he wanted to help.

It had all happened so fast. One second you’re welcoming the gaggle of men into the house and trying to work out who would rest where, the next your ears were ringing from the sound of a gunshot and Jake was on the ground, blood slowly pooling around him. You had no idea you could scream so hard for so long.

Your hand went to your locket, fingers wrapping tight around the cold metal as you tried to calm your racing heart, and steady your breathing. “Sadie I-”

“Shh!”

You immediately shut your mouth and moved closer to Sadie, feeling her tense up. “They’ve gone quiet.”

She was right. The sounds of the men partying had suddenly stopped, leaving everything eerily silent. You looked up, and were just able to make out Sadie’s face. It was hard, mouth set in a half snarl and she had a wild, angry look in her eyes, like when you were both children and she was about to fight some of the neighbourhood kids for picking on you.

Sadie took a step forward, but then immediately pulled down and covered you with her body as best as she could when gunshots rang out. You shrieked and instinctively curled into the fetal position, momentarily forgetting that you were in the cellar, and unlikely to be hurt.

The sounds were faint from the cellar, and were made even fainter by the blood pounding in your ears. You remained silent and still, watching Sadie to see what you should do.

Then, as quickly as it started, the gunfire stopped.

You finally exhaled, shakily, and kept your gaze on Sadie. “Do-do you think they’re gone?”

Sadie raised her head slightly, squinting at the hatch that lead into the cellar. Sadie cautiously approached it, going up the small set of stairs, and tried to open it, but it barely budged. “Fuck.” Sadie growled. She paused, then gestured for you to come over, never taking her eyes off the hatch.

You quickly got to your feet and raced to Sadie, staying behind her. “What is it?” You didn’t dare raise your voice above a whisper.

“Listen.”

You did as she asked, and picked up voices. They were clearly men’s voices, but it sounded like only two of them, and you didn’t recognize them. The voices of the men that had forced you and Sadie into the cellar were familiar to you. Their hoots and hollers were seared into your mind, and you knew you would never escape them.

You clung onto Sadie’s nightgown again, your knuckles going white.

The two of you listened with bated breath as the strangers spoke and walked. You could barely hear them through the floorboards, and you flinched when the footsteps moved almost directly above you.

“What are we gonna do?” You asked, so terrified that you could barely hear yourself.

“We-We’re gonna-” Sadie gulped, and for the first time you saw uncertainty in her eyes. “I don’t know.” Hearing the defeat in her voice and feeling her deflate made you move closer to her. She let out a shaky breath before turning to face you and firmly hold your shoulders. “The second we get the chance, we’re runnin’. We’ll face whoever is out there and we are gonna get the hell off this damn mountain.” She swallowed again. “And, [Name], listen, if it comes down to it, you gotta run without me.”

Your eyes widened and you immediately grabbed Sadie’s arms. “No.” You said, somehow able to make your voice firm. “I’m not leaving without you.”

“[Name]!” Sadie squeezed your shoulders, voice and grip forceful. “I’m not debatin’ this with you. If you have to choose between savin’ me and savin’ yourself, I want you to choose yourself. I want you to get Gladys and get someplace safe. Do you understand me?”

It was clear that Sadie really wasn’t going to budge from this position, but you still hesitated. “Sadie-”

“Do you understand me?”

There was a tense pause, and you could feel Sadie was trembling.

Blinking back tears, you nodded. “I-I understand.”

“Good.” Sadie abruptly pulled you into a hug, squeezing you tight. “I love you [Name].”

You trembled and sniffled as you hugged Sadie back, burying your face into her shoulder. “I love you too Sadie.”

The two of you stayed that way a few moments longer, until you heard footsteps over your heads again.

Sadie quickly let you go and turned around, watching the floorboards.

There was another man’s voice, although if it was one of the earlier men you couldn’t tell. There was a pause, then you heard the horrible sound of something scraping against wood, like something heavy being pushed.

“Don’t forget, run if you have to.”

You could only nod, as the cellar hatch was suddenly flung open.

During the next few seconds, time seemed to slow to an unbearable crawl. You watched as Sadie launched herself at an unknown man, shrieking like a woman deranged. You quickly followed her out of the cellar, finally seeing the rest of the cabin for the first time in who knew how long.

It was an absolute wreck, with broken glass, splintered wood, and blood, both old and new, everywhere. Jake’s blood had stained the wood where he fell, but you couldn’t see him, and you felt a new wave of grief wash over you.

“Well would you look at that! Two of ya!”

You looked back to see Sadie grab a large knife off the dinner table and wave it in front of her, keeping the man at bay.

“[NAME]! RUN!”

Without thinking and fueled by adrenaline, you made a dash for the open door.

Just as you reached it, a bulky figure in black appeared, startling you and making you fall backwards.

“Micah! What the hell are you doing?!”

You crawled backwards as quickly as you could, heart thumping.

“Look at what I found Dutch!” The first man, Micah?, said with a cackle. “A couple of O’Driscolls!”

Finally able to get up to your feet, you went back to Sadie’s side and watched as another man in a large blue jacket entered the house behind the man in black.

“They ain’t O’Driscolls Micah!”

Sadie shoved you behind her and continued to brandish the knife, gnashing her teeth, a wild animal cornered.

Micah laughed, shoving the table over, causing the lit lamp to break and start a fire. You shrieked and backed away, Sadie remaining in front of you.

“You damn fool Micah!” The man in black, Dutch?, approached you both, holding out his hands as if he was trying to calm a wild horse. “Now ladies, please, calm down. We ain’t gonna hurt ya.” He took another cautious step towards you both. “Come with us, you’ll both be safe.”

You and Sadie looked at each other. You knew she didn’t trust these men, but with the spreading fire inside and the wild snow storm outside, you both knew that your choices were limited.

Sadie said nothing, but lowered the knife and cautiously approached Dutch. You stayed close behind her as he ushered you both out of the burning house.

Just as you stepped outside, you felt something heavy but soft fall on your shoulders. You looked up, and saw the man in the blue coat had draped a blanket over you, to shield you from the cold. It was a simple act, the kind any decent person would do given the opportunity, but it still made you smile.

“We’re bad men.” Dutch said, leading you both to tacked up horses. “But we ain’t them.”

As the man in blue lead you forward, you recognized the black and brown Dutch Warmblood that was hitched with the others.

“Gladys!”

Without thinking you ran to her, throwing your arms around her neck, relishing the heat that radiated off of her. “You doing ok girl?” You pulled away slightly, looking into Gladys’s big dark eyes. You smiled as she gently nuzzled you. “I know, I know. I’m sorry for being gone girl, but I’m back now. I’m back.”

“She yours?”

You looked up and saw the man in blue was beside you, holding your blanket. You hadn’t even noticed that it had fallen off. “Yeah.”

“Mind if I ride her?”

For a moment, you hesitated, clinging onto Gladys protectively. But as your feet got colder and your arms more numb, you knew that there would be no way you would be able to ride her, at least not effectively.

“Go ahead.”

The man nodded, holding out a hand.

Confused, you took it, and you were surprised as he helped you onto Gladys before he got on himself. “Be nice to him Gladys.” You said, patting her flank, as you could tell she was more than a little apprehensive about this.

As the horses began to move, you turned and watched as the house Jake and Sadie had built, the house that had been your home these past five months, slowly burned and fell, half obscured by the snow.

“You got a name miss?”

You turned your head, and saw that Dutch was looking at Sadie over his shoulder.

“Adler.” Sadie’s voice was hoarse, and you could see the grief and sadness you were feeling in her eyes as she watched her life crumble.

“Adler?”

“Sadie. Missus.” She didn’t look away. “I-he was my husband.”

“I’m very sorry Mrs Adler.” Dutch said, and he sounded sincere.

“What about you?”

You looked up at the man in blue. “I-I’m [Name].”

He nodded in Sadie’s direction. “You two family or something?”

“Cousins.” You clarified. As Gladys trudged through the snow to higher ground, you looked back over your shoulder one last time at the burning house.

You wrapped your arms tight around the man, pressing yourself against his back for warmth. “And she’s all I got now.”

uagh ok so u know how i was like "let me talk about wesker and how he just had a really WILD TIME in the mental health department between post-arklay and RE5" well what i mean by this is-

wesker was already swinging into a manic episode a month or so before the mansion incident. he was more energetic, he slept even less than he usually did, and everyone seemed to mistake it for enthusiasm. it was hypomania. injecting himself with a goddamn virus basically caused symptoms that could be classified as drug induced psychosis, except it isn't drug induced, it's literally his entire biological makeup was altered (and that gets its own post because i saw a post about "why didnt we get to see wesker going thru it as the t virus rewrites every goddamn cell in his body" i'm going to get to that!)

so fast forward to december 1998, wesker's really going through it now! he's hit a state of very intense mania, he's got the delusions of grandeur, he just has no impulse control, he's running around because he has so much energy to expend and he finds it difficult to stay still due to feeling restless- also this is one of the more obvious "judgement limited, insight poor" moments, he thinks he can get the virus sample but lmao no he's trashed by alexia (i do not care what the redo of CV says, i like having alexia being able to kick wes' ass, it makes for interesting character development things!) but he still gets the job done,

so then we have the span of time between CV and RE5- wesker's mental state mellows out enough that he can be the cool calm collected mastermind that he likes to present himself as- he's behind the fuckery of RE4, but he seems rather calm about it- as in of course he's still going through the whole delusions of grandeur thing and sure does have some mania symptoms, but it isn't like the rockfort incident behavior.

that just all loops back when things shift toward wesker's arrival at spencer's personal home, and of course with the big reveal from spencer, wesker really just doesn't cope with that at all. on top of this, he's been using an immunosuppressant that prevents his body from fighting off a virus that literally turns people into beings that run on base instinct with little to no impulse control (some tyrants can follow commands, but in a limited way, it's not like they follow complex directions), so yeah the mania symptoms ramped up again-

it's after 5 that he goes into the depression, and i've talked about that before im pretty sure...

for reference, wesker's first episode of mania was when he was 18, although there's a chance it could've been drug induced because albert wesker used every single stimulant ever to stay awake through his college years and his early umbrella research years and that sure didn't do anything good for his brain chemistry

gonna list all my story ideas bcos i feel like it 🤷‍♂️

brylants gen 4- ive completely wiped the entire brylant legacy from my blog (much to my regret) but they were the first sims i EVER made in 2018 and the first family i played with so u can imagine how they looked 😭 anyway it was a bunch of stuff about being touched by death the main characters name was lazarus he was cool. i actually cannibalised a lot of the planned ideas for dgwicf 🤭

lines to the sea- dont even ask it was gonna be some gay coming of age shit 😭✋️ i rlly liked the mcs names tho... carlyle and heaven

still dead- post apocalyptic zombie stuff, the main characters were this mid twenties girl and a mute kid 🤷‍♂️ it was gonna be mostly told in flashbacks i cancelled it after like 4 posts but u can see the remains on my blog if ur good at searching

don't go where i can't follow- the main story of this blog my child is three years old in april 🤓 and im still in part one... im trying to make myself ok with the fact that its gonna be a veryyyy long project. the journey has been worth it even tho its not as beloved as the next entry to the list

meet me in the woods- the people's favourite HDKSJKSJSL the only story ive ever completed. the amount of people who dmed me bcos they cried 😭😭 i rlly value that... i really wanna redo it tho!! make it even more heartbreaking 🤪 but after dgwicf is over 🤞

kiss me goodbye- i still think this is a rlly good idea but i might revisit in like written out form instead of a sims story. it wasnt gonna be very visually appealing for my standards to be honest and ive always wanted to actually. write a novel so... maybe for later

the point of this was theyre not always gonna be winners and ur storytelling process is pretty much guaranteed to not be cleancut and linear 🤷‍♂️ dont feel bad about it! have as much fun as u can bcos thats what its for

@aeowolfestheater Thank you :'D I resonate with your comic struggles ;w; while yes I have drawn pages of my comic many times (entire chapters too), I'm stuck in this reboot hell, where I am never satisfied with what I make so I keep redoing it... over... and over again... SO I GET U!!! But it's ok! We have so much time to do our comics and other passion projects, I really wouldn't stress over doing it asap! It's ok to take things slowly and not rush into it (trust me ik)!

To answer your question- I haven't thought about it! Mostly because Kuroshitsuji actually does have an official series of musicals, so I didn't think my contribution was necessery? But... I kinda wanna do it know... I'm not sure which songs I would use but I wanna do it...

@zoeyfoster-blog Omg I'm extremely biased, but I would say yes. For one, GX is a comedic masterpiece especially if you watch the dub. Yes the dub takes itself way less seriously and changes a lot of stuff from the canon japanese version BUT. It's so funny. It's so so so funny. Other then that I mean, GX is just a fun show with fun characters. I love the characters dearly (Chazz it up for life), but it's not like. The most brilliant piece of media out there. It's a pretty standard show for kids really. Though it get's really angsty and dark in seasons 3-4. Idk I really love it personally. If I were you, I'd watch s1, maybe early season 2 dubbed, because those parts of the show are a lot more silly and watching them dubbed would make it more funny/enjoyable. But def switch to sub on the more serious episodes like those in s3. Also thank you for liking my art :'D!!

so-SO 1st is that all i was just handed a cookie hold on ok cookie ate i 4got what i was OH RIGHT OK SO ALL OF MY DRAWINGS R 1000 x 1000 pixals! or most @ least, so i have a consistent size 4 each of my buttons

HERES THE TIMBER BUTTON IM MAKING!! i dont use bigger canvus bc my phone will explode in not the silly way but i also like how it turns out!

i draw everything in ibis then like copy + paste it in2 google docs where i can size them! i usually make them a bit bigger than whats listed, 4 example 2.5 inch buttons r printed in 2.55/2.6 inches if that makes any sense (￣▽￣)"

i also select break text bc i tetris them around

then i print them out & use a cookie cutter thing 2 cut them out! i have a button pressing machine(all manual bc im not that rich) so its all about sandwiching from there

i could fill the whole page w/that pink background to give me a "cleaner" result but honestly i dont think it changes anything? as long as u dont see the white on the front. but it IS easier 2 cut it out if the border is thicker(which is y i add a border in the 1st place plus it looks neat!)

((this 1 got messed up in printing but since im not selling it i rly dont care LOOK @ THE CUTIES!)

sometimes the machine cramps up or i will 4get the film ontop so i have 2 redo the entire process again but i like repeated activities!

Top 7 Libby Stein-Torres Moments.

So before you see this list, I want to remind you that Like Father Like Libby and any other episodes soon after aren't on this list since they haven't aired yet. So without further ado, here's my top 7 Libby Stein-Torres list.*

LIBBY STEIN-TORRES IS AWESOME!!!

Out of all the characters in The Ghost and Molly McGee, the one I enjoy watching the most is Libby hands down.

She’s a great character, she’s relatable, has a great personality, has a lot of great jokes, able to help her friends.

So, to commemorate Season 2 of The Ghost and Molly McGee as well as Libby’s Theme Song Takeover, I am counting down the top 7 best things that Libby has done.

The rules for this list are simple, any Libby moment counts as long as Libby is part of the main focus. That’s pretty much it. Also, just a heads up, Libby’s Theme song Takeover will not be on the list simply because that came out BEFORE this list was made. If I redo this list in the future, you bet it will be on there.

Also, at the time of this posting, “Like Father, Like Libby” Or any other future Libby episodes for that matter, hasn’t come out yet either so if anyone’s wondering why, there’s your answer.

So, without further ado, I present to you…

Number 7:

The Stress Girlz (Broken Karaoke)

Okay, I’m cheating because this isn’t from The Ghost and Molly McGee, but screw it, this is a great moment from a series of music video shorts and I always wanted to talk about this for a long time.

Disney TVA worked with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, to create a music video about anxiety.

As a result, we got The Stress Girls a music group consisting of Candace Flynn from Phineas and Ferb, Marcy Wu from Amphibia, Gloria Sato from Big City Greens, and of course Libby Stein-Torres herself, and they picked the best characters for this song.

The song is called “Ways We Feel Anxious” a parody of the Descendants 2 song, “Ways to be Wicked”. And the song goes on and talk about the way other people feel anxious, Candace talks about her brothers, Marcy brings up the time where she sent her, Anne and Sasha to Amphibia, Gloria talks about how she wants to do art and poetry but is working on a café, and Libby talks about how she worries about her pet Turtles while on vacation.

The best part of this song is how the girls sing about how there’s no shame when you feel stressed…

“No shame when you feel so much stress. You’re trying your best. There’s so many ways we feel anxious. Life can be a bit of a mess. But take some solace you’re human. It’s OK to feel this.”

This is a music video that people who have anxiety like I do should see. It’s a great song with a great message and remember, There’s no shame when you’re feeling stress. A-N-X-I-O-U-S.

Number 6:

Trolling “Milly” (Scratch the Surface)

Near the end of the halfway point of Season 1, one of the running stories of the season was Molly not showing Scratch to anybody especially Libby. But it gets to a point where Libby is slowly figuring it out, at least that’s what Molly and Scratch think.

So, in order to keep her friendship with Libby Molly comes up with a great solution….be Canadian and Molly’s cousin……OF COURSE!!!

Enter Milly, Molly’s Canadian “Cousin” and Libby’s new friend. Libby of course didn’t buy it and as a result she decides to just play along….and it leads to one of the funniest moments in the entire show.

First off, look at this freaking grin. You know she is gonna have fun with this.

She gives “Milly” A burger soaked in Maple Syrup, which Molly hates. And the best part, taking “Milly” to a magic show….and Molly hates magic. And oh boy is this scene glorious, First off, Molly is having a firkin breakdown, Libby is looking like she’s enjoying it and then there’s Scratch who looks worried for Molly. It’s just a great scene. And immediately Molly decides to drop a Milly act right away.

That’s technically why it’s low on the list, because it is short but it had a LOT of laughs.

Now I’m well aware that the scene also leads to one of the sadder moments of the show, but I will tackle it a later entry on this list.

But I gotta say, this is one of Libby’s funniest moments hands down. XD

Number 5:

Libby vs. the Story Sprite (Book Marks the Sprite)

While Libby has some great moments in Season 2 so far, This scene in particular stands out from all the rest.

For those who don’t know Libby’s Mom runs a Bookstore in Brighton and while she’s out doing some errands, she asks Libby to run the store while she’s gone. And things go to hell when a little ghost called a Story Sprite begins to eat the words out of all the books in the store and on top of that, Ollie Chen, part of a family of Ghost Hunters and Molly’s love interest tries to find ghosts in the bookstore. Molly takes care of Ollie, while Libby and Scratch try to stop the Story Sprite and split up doing….

…. whatever the hell this is. While Molly took care of Ollie, Libby and Scratch have a hard time dealing with the Story Sprite. Apparently not only can a Story Sprite eat the words out of books, but in order to defend itself…. well….

Anybody familiar with Tamaki Amajiki aka Suneater from My Hero Academia who has a quirk where he turns himself into whatever he eats?

Yeah, the Story Sprite has that ability too. If it eats the word, Minotaur, he becomes one, he becomes Dracula if he eats the word Vampire. And so on.

But this leads to an idea from Libby who decides to make the sprite eat her own journal and as a result he turns into Libby herself.

And it’s not just a transformation, the Sprite ends up acting like Libby from her personality and her anxiety about ruining the bookstore. As a result, Libby managed to convince the Story Sprite to return all the words back into their books by barfing them out……ew.

And in the end, it looks like Libby and the Story Sprite gets along in the end.

This is a fun episode. The stuff with Molly and Ollie was good, but Libby taking on the Story Sprite was the best part. Definitely check this episode out if you’re a fan of Libby.

Number 4:

Libby vs. Scratch (Friend-Off)

So, after the events of “Scratch the Surface”, Libby finally finds out about Scratch. And they don’t get along well at first.

To fix this, Molly plans a scavenger hunt in order for them to become friends. To say it doesn’t go well would be an understatement

To Libby and Scratch, Molly deserves only one of them, so instead of getting along, they use a scavenger hunt to prove who Molly’s true friend is. (Leading to a great song where Libby and Scratch fight in a Coliseum trying to impress Molly who for some reason acts like she’s the emperor of Rome deciding who the winner is.)

But when Molly’s life is in danger, both Libby and Scratch come to an understanding that Molly cares for both of them and decide to work together to save her.

I plan to talk about this in a future entry but both Libby and Scratch make great foils for Molly in different ways. And it’s great to see these rivals become the best of friends.

Number 3:

I Have a Voice (Talent Show)

The last three entries on this list are what makes Libby a great character in her own right. One of the best episodes of The Ghost and Molly McGee IMO is Talent Show. An episode where Libby accidently signs up for talent show but has a bad case of Stage fright. She also plans to sing a song in the talent show but the big problem is that she does not sing well to put it mildly. But Molly doesn’t tell her this until the last minute…. because she’s Molly. This causes Libby to panic and immediately think of something at the last minute and that ended up with Libby turning a song into a poem. And it worked. Not only did Libby conquer her stage fright but she managed to make a great poem for her performance and everyone loved it including her Mom.

I love this episode because like the Stress Girls segment, it’s relatable and very memorable. Plus, Lara Jill Miller, the voice of Libby does a great job voicing her in this episode.

Definitely one of Libby’s best episodes and the I Have a Voice segment is the reason why.

And now we get to the last 2 entries on the list. And I have a lot to say about both of them.

Number 2:

Libby and Molly’s Friendship (Various Episodes)

You can argue that I’m cheating that I’m adding various episodes to one entry but I don’t care. Libby’s Friendship with Molly is one of her best moments In my opinion and it deserves to be talked about.

While “First Day Frights” is where Molly was introduced to Libby, it wouldn’t be until “Howling Harriet” that their friendship began. Throughout the episode, we see Libby making some kind of bracelet. When the ghost of Howling Harriet terrorize the campers, it was up to Molly and Libby to make some fake toes….it makes sense if you saw the episode, and stop Harriet’s Rampage. The episode ends with Molly deciding to be friends with Libby but Libby asks her first and they became friends ever since.

Libby is not only a great friend to Molly but in a way, they are complete foils for each other. You have Molly’s happy and positive attitude and determination in contrast with Libby’s anxious personality. But then you have Libby who’s down to earth personality contrast with Molly’s confident nature.

They make a great bond but that bond will no doubt later be tested many ways. One of which was in “Mazel Tov, Libby” where Molly tries to give Libby the best Bat Mitsvah she ever had by making it fancy and invite a lot of people. However unbeknownst to Molly, Libby never wanted that in the first place. She only wanted a small party with just her Mom, her family and Molly who is probably the first true friend she ever had…. more on that later. Point is, Molly decides to set things right by reverting everything back to normal by scaring the guests off with Bats…. don’t ask and Molly and Libby had a great time after that.

That’s a great moment but then the biggest test of their bond comes in “Scratch the Surface”. So throughout mostly half of the first season, Molly has been hiding the existence of Scratch to Libby during the show. And lately it’s getting too much to handle to the point where Libby is getting suspicious. So, she thinks of a great idea….and it blew up in her face when she created her Canadian cousin, Milly. I talked about the whole trolling Milly scene earlier on this list but after that. Libby encounters Molly red handed…. or blue wigged and Libby thinks that she knows what is up with Molly. Long story short she thinks she was possessed by a Canadian Brain Slug…. because Canada is famous for its Brain Slugs…. Libby you’re my favorite character but you were overthinking it. Of course, that isn’t the case and Libby immediately thinks that if it wasn’t a Brain Slug, it could only mean one thing, that Molly doesn’t want to be friends with her. Obviously, that’s not the case but Libby then says probably one of the saddest lines in the show.

“This has happened before. I thought you were different.”

Ever since I heard that line, I had a theory that Libby never had a friend to begin with during her time in Brighton. Any friend that she had before Molly came along probably stopped being friends with her or just doesn’t want to be with her.

Libby never had a true friend throughout her life……that is until Molly came along. And that line, kind of solidifies my theory.

But of course, their friendship isn’t over, Scratch after seeing Molly upset decides to let Libby see him…. which then leads to Scratch and Libby fighting each other in “Friend-Off” but I already talked about that.

Bottom line, Molly and Libby’s friendship has had its ups and downs and there will be more ups and downs as time goes on. But no matter what happens their strong bond of friendship will always stay strong.

And as great as Molly and Libby’s friendship is, it doesn’t hold a candle to what is in my opinion, Libby’s favorite moment.

So, without further ado……

And my Number 1 best Libby Stein-Torres moment is…

Still Lit (Festival of Lights)

Festival of Lights” is in my opinion, the best episode of The Ghost and Molly McGee hands down and when it comes to what I think the best Libby moment or best moment in the show overall, I point to this scene.

Basically, Brighton experience a power outage and only the bookstore that Libby’s Mom owns has a working generator. What follows is a series of segments represented by a Menorah candle. There’s a scene where Scratch and Libby sing a song about Deep Fired Food, there’s a segment where Libby, Molly, Scratch and Darryl play with a Dreidel and the winner gets all of the chocolate coins, There’s even a story about how the Stein-Torres family moved to America during WWII.

But to me, the best part of this episode is this scene where Libby tells the story of Hannukah.

And today I am shocked at how well executed this scene is. You have the animation which is not only beautiful, but also adds a bit of atmosphere to this scene.

You have the great voice acting of Lara Jill Miller who does a fantastic job voicing Libby in this scene. This scene alone has solidified my opinion that Libby is Lara’s best role. More than Kari Kamiya from Digimon, more than Lisa Loud from The Loud House, even Juniper Lee doesn’t hold a candle to how great Lara does voicing Libby.

And you have the music which also adds to the atmosphere of the scene just like the animation does.

Also, if you noticed during this scene, Libby is telling this story to a bunch of people further solidifying, that Libby has mostly gotten over her stage fright just like in “Talent Show”. Libby sure has grown as a character.

This scene is Libby’s best moment hands down. And hopefully you can see why it’s my Number on best Libby Stein-Torres moment.

Will I do more favorite moments list with other Molly McGee characters? Maybe but for right now, I got other plans in the works.
