Love Class 2: A Love Letter

I caught up on the last episodes of Love Class 2 and I felt like I need to give the whole show (both seasons) a rewatch because s2 had so much going on, and my attention definitely suffered in the beginning of S2 from everything else airing at the same time and the proliferation of characters. But I finished the series feeling like something special had just happened, so I wanted to sit with that for a minute and see if I could articulate why. Especially after the disappointment that was the ending of the Minato's Laundromat sequel, I wanted to process my thoughts around what made this one good.

This is not very coherent and very long, mostly because I just wanted to get it down before I got absorbed by other shows again [Spoilers for both seasons follow].

To remind/recap about Love Class 1: The first season focused on Cha Ji Woo and Lee Ro A. Ro A is a returning student who was just released from military service; he lives with Kim Nam Joon who has a crush on him and another roommate. At first, Ji Woo has a crush on Bae Yoo Na, a girl in his class who is being stalked. Her uncle works at the college and so she knows the professor, who is being pursued by one of the other (female) students in the class, Kim Hye Won.

I had forgotten most of this tbh. On rewatch, I remember how much I liked that Yoo Na and Ro A fell for Ji Woo for the same reason, and Ji Woo fell for them for similar reasons too. There is a lot more forced proximity between the leads in S1, with both the class and then the broken arm, which helps because the entire season is so short. There's a resolution with the stalker plot, a nice moment where Ji Woo is honest about how his feelings, and in the penultimate episode, Ro A decides to protect Ji Woo from himself (and homophobia) by rejecting him and disappearing.

Season one ends with a standard separation (that is only kind of earned); an explicit message from the surf shop owner: "If you keep avoiding things out of fear, you'll never experience the good things in life"; and in the last minute we get basically a standard K-drama dead fish kiss (@gabrielokun has done some very kind cropping here so it looks a bit better).

Overall it was ok. Felt very standard at the time, the leads were cute and it was nice that the love rivals Yoo Na and Nam Joon were not treated as villains in the end. The het side plot with the professor felt tacked on. Ji Woo's changing emotions towards Ro A were signposted well but felt fast, and Ro A's fear of ruining Ji Woo's life by turning him gay felt a bit overdramatic and disappearing entirely (including dropping out of class and moving) was a lot. The end left no time at all for them as a couple, so it was very unclear to me whether they'd actually last.

After rewatching S1, I need to give S2 major props for doing the sequel thing right. The show picked up on a lot of the elements of the original while being a completely stand-alone story and not repeating anything in the OG.

Really quick summary of S2 mostly for the names: Lee Hyeon and Min Wu are friends in university together who have known each other since high school. Min Wu has been trying to ignore his crush on their mutual friend Ma Ru (who went straight into the working world and then quit so got kicked out by his parents). Meanwhile Lee Hyeon has been looking for his former tutor Kim An for 2 years; Kim An appears and Lee Hyeon pursues him by joining Love & Marriage class with the help of the TA Sung Min. Sung Min is being pursued by returning student Ju Hyuk after Ju Hyuk sees him in an embarrassing situation with his pants literally down. Shenanigans ensue [many more details recapped below].

Rewatching S1 helped me realize why I liked S2 so much. In season 2, it's like they heard all the complaints and addressed them:

The only heterosexual is there to support the gays; no love rivals here (also PS Sa Ra's character was delightful; I loved the way she knew exactly what to do on those stairs during the fake date!)

All of the couples are gay and get more time overall (the whole series is longer too; 10 instead of 6 eps and some of those eps were over 30 mins each)

All of the couples also have a history together before the show starts, so all have [a varying amount of] feelings before we even begin

And because of the difference in where these couples are starting, everything happens so fast and there is so much more character development

Rather than the love & marriage class being about getting to know someone, because of Lee Hyeon and Kim An's history, the assignments from the class end up being about getting to relearn someone who has changed and you don't know why; bridging barriers and re-establishing intimacy, which was a fun twist

While the first season did a bit of talking about building relationships and forming meaningful connections, it really didn't have time to do much with this and the premise of the "love class" felt barely used. In this season these themes get explored more, with everyone at one point or another needing advice or having to work on their relationship

Of all of the characters, only one didn't know he was gay/bi going into the start of S2

All of the couples express obvious sexual desire and have sex (some before they even date, it's a miracle)

All of the couples have multiple kisses!

Homophobia isn't removed from the world entirely, but it's not a major plot point in this season

None of the couples split up right before the end; the closest is the older couple in ep8 and they reconcile by ep9 [and sidenote: did the professor drop that whatever he lost on purpose so Sung Min would see him with his nephew?!]

They essentially dedicate two episodes to revelling in the happy ending and building out what these characters are like when they are in a relationship, and I love that; no penultimate episode drama

The couples get an entire episode to triple-date and they all just relax being able to be out and comfortable together, it's extremely cute and also heartwarming and a little sad that this is the only place they can feel away from the gay boy scrutiny [this is what I meant by homophobia not being removed entirely from the world, but it's presence is in its absence rather than it being a plot point, and this was refreshing]

The couple that is in the class is out to the class by choice at the end; no more being afraid of rumours the way the original couple were in s1

The stalker plot got darker (it's one thing to stalk someone but to impersonate them at a job that could get you in trouble? Diabolical) and had more clear motivations for his character; also no police were involved in the resolution this time which felt more realistic

Both seasons deal a lot with characters holding in secrets and not communicating; but in s1 the confession from Ji Woo led to Ro A lying to him directly. In contrast, in S2 direct communication is met either with being shut down or with communication back; the other characters sometimes say it's not the time, but never punish the other character for direct communication. And in some cases the direct communication finally helps move them forward/out of misunderstandings. And not directly communicating leads to mess.

In s1 the seniors were bullies and they didn't really face any consequences; in contrast in S2 the boss at the cafe was such a bully and he got harassed into taking a break, realizing he was being horrible, and becoming a better person (and getting a love interest lolol)

In addition to all the things they did differently, there were so many things that echoed or called back to s1! Parallels to the first season:

Sa Ra gets to repeat the moral from the first season: love requires bravery. All of our couples exhibit different levels and kinds of bravery at different times, but all of them at one point or another take that leap and decide to be brave.

The storytelling strategy of flashing back to show us something we hadn't previously seen to recontextualize what we have since been shown was used once in s1 and used in all three couples at the end of every episode of season 2, as well as sometimes mid-episode.

Someone startles/disrupts the Love & Marriage class to ask to be paired with someone of the same sex in both seasons

There is ominous door-knocking in ep2 that ends up being a fake-out but works extra well as creepy because of the knocking by the stalker in s1

There are also similar moments in s1&2 where the "friend" (who is more than a friend but was rejected but still lives/lived with the love interest) stalks and surprises a character to tell them 'truths' about their loved one

The show keeps the feel of s1 in terms of the mix between cute, funny, and sinister (for better or for worse, though I think S2 balances these better)

The relationships in S2 have a lot in common with S1: there are friends who have been friends since high school one of whom is pining and the other rejects him and they agreed to be friends only who live together; rather than a teacher and student there is a returning student and TA; there is a returning student in both seasons; there is one friend out of a trio who is more of a himbo and doesn't go to their school but is still around all the time

Both seasons had a character who seemed to be unaware he was gay/bi until he was put in a position to be forced to realize it, and credit to both seasons, any gay panic was mostly off screen/tied up in figuring out their feelings, and none took place after they told their gay crush

Both seasons touched on how rumours and social isolation can affect you (though the rumours in S2 were not about being gay)

I mentioned it above, but the way the couples relax when they're all in the open and on the trip together was a really touching callback to the first season dealing with the scrutiny of homophobia (whispering, rumours); and the in-class couple showing a photo of them kissing in class is such a huge contrast to s1's couple having a photo of them feeding one another taken and shared without their consent.

Also also in s1 there was a double date near the end of the show so that was also a cute parallel!

While the bullying seniors didn't face consequences in s1, they were interrupted by various people trying to protect their love interests throughout the show. That theme of protecting your love interest from bullying continued to greater effect in S2 and I thought that was really cute!

Cameos of s1 couple and the couple from Private Lessons appeared in s2; it was unclear to me whether the couple from s1 was reprising their roles (though I assume so) but the couple from Private Lessons definitely had the same character names!

Putting aside comparisons now, the storytelling and characters in S2 are so much more interesting!

Ep1 starts with the mysterious fall from the roof [fake-out #1] and then the scene with Lee Hyeon and Min Wu [fake-out #2] in which they call Ma Ru and establish some of the friend group dynamics and then we get the hint that something else is going on with Lee Hyeon (Min Wu asks if he's given up on looking for someone); and then we get the moment that connects storyline 3 to storylines 1&2 between Kim An and Sung Min. So much tight storytelling in this first ep, I remember on first watch being surprised by how much attention this series was requiring considering s1! I scrolled the tag and saw most people found eps 1&2 confusing, and I can say I definitely found it much easier on rewatch and going in with different expectations.

Ep2 hints at the past we don't yet know between Ju Hyuk and Sung Min (only on rewatch did I realize Ju Hyuk asks Sung Min to eat with him like a normal person and the way he promised he would but Sung Min doesn't remember or realize what's happening, and turns him down kindly, which is why he resorts to being an ass.

Ep 3 we get the first hints Ma Ru knows something is up (being afraid to knock on MinWu's door), the first love & marriage assignments (observing your partner and writing them a letter of what you want to say to them) as well as the underwear gift from Ju Hyuk to Sung Min, and the note at Kim Ann's locker. This episode really starts to build on the theme of intimacy and what intimacy means, when is it appropriate, how do you establish it, and the conflict that arises when people are on different pages about your level of intimacy. Like most have noticed, this is where it really takes off and comes into its own as a good show.

The rest of the show really builds on and plays with these histories, intimacies, and conflicts. They have time to actually hurt one another (eg the slut shaming) and actually make up. Each one moves at a different pace. [Sidenote: have I said enough how happy I am that the older couple slept together before dating?! To be clear I am just as excited when an ace/demi/inexperienced character gets to be ace/demi/explore or come into their sexuality, but I only have so much patience for the blushing maiden trope in adult gay men who have clear sexual attraction and interest especially when they have previous experience, and anything outside of one-partner-in-their-entire-lives is still so rare in BL. And as an aside on this aside, I love how much Ju Hyuk's rizz works at first but then backfires on him later, forcing him to use actual communication after all!] Each couple has a reason for the hesitation or delay in becoming a couple (power dynamics and uncertainty about where you stand; friendship you don't want to lose; being burned before and feeling like you aren't allowed to have anything good in your life). Even more importantly, we get reasons for everything: why Min Wu is growing distant with Ma Ru; why Kim An is more terse and cautious with Lee Hyun; why Ju Hyuk is so weirdly rude to Sung Min. And, as I mentioned above, we actually get a motive for the villain of the story too, Kim An's childhood friend/brother/rejected love/stalker (whose name I keep forgetting even in rewatch lol sorry bro). He thought Kim An was only with him because he was desperate, and so when Kim An started making other connections, he thought he had to ruin Kim An's life. And he thought when he came back into Kim An's life, Kim An would still be desperate, and he'd be able to fit back in. He didn't understand that Kim An had still loved him even if he was no longer interested in a romantic or sexual relationship, and would have kept him in his life if he hadn't been betrayed; he didn't understand that Kim An would be able to rebuild his life without him; he didn't understand that Kim An would not forgive him even though he still cared about him. It really is tragic, and the tragedy is in a lot of ways understated.

Yes it was a bit messy with the three plots going on simultaneously but when binged, and definitely on rewatch, it was easier to follow and I enjoyed how the interaction between the characters moved each of the plots forward. I wonder how much the pacing bothered some viewers because it definitely is not paced like a usual kbl, but that's one of the things I liked about it lol and there were some parts that I enjoyed only on rewatch because I could focus on them.

All of this incoherence is to say: I really like the storytelling in S2 so much more than S1; I think it's one of the better sequel attempts I've seen, in that there are clear connections to the first season but everything is built on rather than recreated; and the stories were also just more interesting. Season 2 delivered on the premise of Season 1 without re-using the same structure, plot points, or story beats. Lots of tropes were repeated but they were always used in a new way and played out differently. The finale felt queer in a way I don't expect from Korean BL. We got some of the things I always say I want more of in any series: more time with folks as a couple working out their relationship post-get-together, clear communication, and queer community. Overall, this show affected me more than I expected. It wasn't perfect execution, but TL;DR, more of this please!

Jung Kyung-ho, will Jeon Do-yeon change her mind?

'One Big Scandal' Jeong Kyung-ho offered Jeon Do-yeon individual tutoring from Noh Yoon-seo.

In the tvN Saturday and Sunday drama 'One Hit Scandal', which aired on the 22nd, Haeng-seon Nam (Do-yeon Jeon) and Hae-yi Nam (Yun-seo Noh) were angered when their acceptance to the all-care class was overturned due to a sudden change in the academy's rules.

When Nam Hae-yi suddenly dropped out of the all-care class, Nam Haeng-seon ran to the academy in anger. However, the staff only offered an explanation of "internal regulations."

Choi Chi-yeol also questioned director Kang Jun-sang (Heo Jeong-do) about the background of Nam Hae-yi's fall from the All Care class. The director demanded that he pretend not to know, but Choi Chi-cheol said that if Nam Hae-yi could not join the all-care class, he would go out as well.

The south bound ship eventually headed to The Pride Academy with a loudspeaker. The southbound ship complained of his injustice and requested a meeting with his director. Director Kang Joon-sang, whom we met by chance, intentionally avoided going south.

Director Kang Jun-sang, who was walking backwards to avoid the southbound line, suffered an arm injury in a sudden accident. Director Kang Jun-sang instructed the staff to put Nam Hae-i on a blacklist so that he could not attend Choi Chi-yeol's lectures or other lectures.

Choi Chi-yeol, who happened to know that Nam Hae-yi was on the blacklist, shouted "Stay still" to Nam Haeng-seon. Namhaengseon could not hide his disappointment, and drew a line saying that he would not sell side dishes to The Pride Academy, including Choi Chi-yeol.

Due to the change in the southbound line, Choi Chi-yeol's physical condition also deteriorated. From the first class of the all care class, he even had a conflict with Lee Young-min (Yoo Jun) due to a mistake in the pool. Choi Chi-yeol, disapproving of the fact that Lee Young-min came in instead of Nam Hae-yi, ran to the south bound ship.

Choi Chi-yeol suggested to the blunt Nam Haeng-seon, "Let's start your daughter's class again." Haengseon Nam asked, "Are you accepting Hae-i again at the academy?"

Choi Chi-yeol suggested once again, "No. Let's take a separate class with me. Individually." Haengseon Nam asked if he meant Nam Hae-yi’s personal tutoring. Choi Chi-yeol reached out to Nam Haeng-seon and revealed, "There are conditions", arousing curiosity.

just done reading the tutor namjoon fic and. good grief how u managed to stay sane writing all that petty tension is beyond me i am sO TIRED and was so on edge all throughout reading it GODS how- and it was so believable and well-build, too! fuck. obnoxious ppl like that story joon are soo annoying to me, like just talk it out and be done, what's the ongoing grudges for but NOOOOO has to resolve to mocking grades and all that. ugh. but the payoff!!! that was. shorter than expected, tbh- 1/2

ngl, i expected joon to struggle a bit while attempting to think of how to make yn shut up, to finally frustrated yelling ‘oh my god can u just shut up and let me kiss u wtf’ but that was was fine too. and i guess it was fine to end in on that note, but all that suspense and then all it takes is one hour locked together??? that’s so on brand but still aksjfhfjfkdjd what i’m trying to say is, marvellous piece of writing. truly. it riled me up so much but i also- couldn’t predict where’d that go.

Pairing: Wu-Jin X Reader

Summary: Nam Chae-Young had an obsession with everything gore since she was a little girl, little did she know that one normal day at school would turn into the worst day of her life. Fighting to survive shouldn’t the that hard, right?

“I can’t see!” Chae yelps, she was pulled by someone and when her eyes focused again, she seen Dae-Su. “Here!” he called, pushing himself halfway through a classrooms door, where Wu-Jin stopped him from getting it.

“It’s brother- in- law and future gi-“ Chae- Young slaps Dae-Su hard. She knew the moment he figured out that she had a crush on Wu-Jin, her life would be over.

“Sorry!” Wu-Jin pulled them in. Min-Jae fell to the ground thanking God. “What happened to you?” Wu-Jin asks, Chae was too busy wiping her phone screen.

“Chae!” Chae looks to see On-Jo running to her, the two sisters embrace one another tightly.

“What’s happening?” On-Jo asks, examining her sister for bites. Chae huffs and pushes her hands off her,” I’m okay. Some crazy fucker blasted us with a fire hydrant! Can you believe that?” she explains annoyed. On-Jo bit her lip to suppress a giggle.

“I’m glad you’re okay,” On-Jo smiles, hugging her sister briefly.

Chae finally got to get a proper look at everyone who was in the room; Na-Yeon, Gyeong-Su, Joon-Yeong, I-Sak, On-Jo, Min-Jae, Dae-Su, Wu-Jin, Ji-Min and Hyo-Ryeong. How did this happen? One normal day turned into complete hell in the blind of an eye?

Two loud bangs on the window caught them by surprise. Gyeong-Su and Wu-Jin ran over to investigate.

“You scared me, fucker!” Gyeong-Su huffs, pulling in someone from the window, Chae turned around to see Su-Hyeok, who then pulled up Nam-Ra. How did so many students happen to find this one classroom?

Soon enough everyone was searching for a phone. After watching every struggle, Chae holds up her phone. “Seriously?” Cheong-San takes her phone and dials 911, then it died. “Great Chae, maybe if you didn’t spend your whole life on TikTok, you’d have battery left!” The two started arguing amongst themselves until Nam-Ra announced she found a phone.

“Try her birthday!” The phone belonged to their classmate. “What’s her birthday?” Cheong- San asked and they all fell silent. He sighed and looked to the door where he spotted her. He walks over and tries to use Face ID.

“Hold it closer. “Su-Hyeok suggests.

“I hate to break it to you, but that’s like using Face ID on a ghost,” Chae laughs,” Plus, you don’t need a passcode to use emergency services. “

“You wait this long to tell us this? You like seeing us suffer?” Dae- Su asks.

“Well one, I didn’t think y’all were that idiotic and two, everyone knows that.”

On-Jo took the phone and tried to call their father.

“Shouldn’t you be blocking the door?” Cheong-San slaps Gyeong-Su on the back of the head. Gyeong-Su flips him off and runs back to the door, but a Professor quickly runs in.

“Oh, thank God, are you kids okay?” he asks, barricading the door. “Come on, help,” he stacks chairs onto desks. The students were quick to help apart from Chae, she was worried about her other best friend.

Flashback

Chae-Young could feel his presence behind her. Of course she knew who it was, he had this aura that made her wanna pull her hair out. Looking up, her eyes were met with Yoon Gwi-Nam, he pulled out a seat and sat down,” You’re smart,” he scratches his neck, not sure if this’ll work.

“Smarter than some,” replied Chae. “I need you to tutor me,” Gwi-Nam coughs, trying not to give a snide comment that’ll ruin his opportunity at ever getting a good enough grade to impress his parents.

“Why?” Chae puts her chopsticks down and squints her eyes suspecting him to do some sort of sick prank on her.

“Just do it, please,” that surprised Chae, Gwi-Nam never had manners. He was a bully so far he had done nothing extreme, but there was always a chance.

“Okay, “ Chae agrees,”but I want something in return,” Gwi- Nam rolls his eyes.

“No,” he gets up to leave,” You expected me to just do something for you without getting something in return? Fine, find someone else to tutor you. “Chae chuckles and goes back to her lunch. She knew absolutely nobody in the school would ever tutor Gwi-Nam, not even if they were offered billions of won

Gwi-Nam huffs and sits back down,” You’re good, Princess,” he smirks with a laugh.

“I heard your little bully friends were choosing their next victim,” her eyes fall over to where On-Jo sat,” my sister and her friends. I know you’re a coward,but tell him that they’re not worth his time. “ she raises her eyebrow looking at him waiting for an answer. “Deal?” She holds out her hand.

“Deal,” Gwi-Nam shakes her hand after a long, hard debate with himself,” I thought they were your friends too? You don’t have friends, huh?” he asks, watching her go back to eating.

“They are my friends, I just wanted alone time today. Plus, every friendship ends the same, once they see you’re no longer of their use, they throw you over the edge and I don’t intend to be thrown over the edge. “ she shrugs. “Call me Princess again and I’ll pull your teeth out.” She adds and gets up to clear her tray.

Chae and Gwi-Nam became the best of friends as the years went by, she was the only one who looked at him like he meant something. Chae stuck around long enough and actually got to know him. His father was always at work and verbally abusive, his mother only cared about his grades. She was a cold heartless bitch. Gwi-Nam was many things, but he was never a dick to Chae. He always made sure Myeonghwan didn’t target her. Gwi- Nam taught Chae how to fight and look after herself. He whined and bitched when he found out she was possibly a better fighter than he was. On-Jo obviously disapproved of her friendship with Gwi-Nam, but she knew trying to boss around her sister wouldn’t work.

They would do stupid shit together. Go to convenient stores late at night and go to the parks late to play around which ended up with them being chased out by the guards. Gwi-Nam cared for Chae deeply, he knew about her silly crush on Wu-Jin and pushed her around on it. He was a good person, but Chae distanced herself when the bullying around school got out of hand. When Jin-Su attempted to end his life, Chae had enough, she didn’t know about anything else the bullies did. But she had to distance herself.

“Hey, wanna go to the park tonight?” Gwi-Nam throws and arm over her shoulder.

Chae shakes her head,” Not feeling well,” she lies.

“Bullshit. Who’s giving you a hard time? Need me to beat them up-“

“I have my period, I want to be left alone. “ she takes his arm off her.

“Okay. Call me when you’re home,princess. “.

Gwi- Nam was a good friend her. She just wished he had listened when she said to get away from his bully friends. Deep down Chae was hurting, she just wished Gwi-Nam treated people how he treated her.

End of flashback

Chae-Young noticed blood on the Professors sleeve alongside some bite marks. She grabs On-Jo’s arm and pulls her back. “Sir… y- your arm,” Chae points.

“It’s fine it’s just a scratch,” he looks at the students around him.

“Don’t lie. Those are teeth marks,” Chae points to his sleeve.

“Leave. Please leave. “I-Sak points to the door. The professor scoffs and steps forward,” I’m fine. “

“Leave!” Chae snaps.

“Fuck you!” The professor shoots back,” I’m fine!” Again, a lie. On-Jo gets her school bag and whacks him in the head with it.

“Stupid bitch!” he charges for her, Chae stands between him but he fell to the ground and started twitching.

“Stand back!” Cheong-San pulled the girls back. The professor got up again, this time he was a zombie. He charged at Min-Jae and started biting her face.

“No!” Chae pulls him off her,” Y-You’re gonna be okay,” she sniffles, now panicking, cradling her best friend.

“I don’t wanna die. Please, I don’t wanna die,” Min-Jae cries. “Ah!” She screams and does the same thing the professor did. The sickening noise of bones cracking filled the classroom. Cheong- San held the reanimated version of the professor against a wall with a chair.

“No, Min-Jae!” Chae felt her heart shatter into pieces as Min- Jae’s body started twisting in inhumane ways, she jumps up and lunges at Chae. The two girls topple over a table. Chae winces as her back hits the ground hard.

“Chae!” I-Sak pulled On-Jo back. Min-Jae was torn off of Chae by Dae-Su. He could see the pocket knife jammed into her neck. Chae’s vision became blurry as she stood up, tears poured down her face. “I’m sorry,”’she sniffles, pulling her knife out again and jamming it into Min-Jae’s skull. She wished she didn’t have to do it, but she knew it wasn’t her best friend anymore.

Wu-Jin walks over and pulls Chae away, she clutched into him and sobbed. “We need to get out of here. “he whispers in her ear. Chae nodded and they all readied up. Chae fixes her backpack and takes On-Jo’s hand.

“Fuck, shit!” Chae hisses as she pushes zombies away forcefully as On-Jo was reaching to grab the hose to break the lock. On-Jo runs back and starts hitting the lock until it popped open. She grabs Chae by her cardigan and they all ran into the class.

“Ah, I’m so tired. “Gyeong-Su complains, taking a seat beside her and laying his head in her lap.

“You’re just lazy,” Na-Yeon interjects.

“He’s no-“

“I’m lazy? Me? Says the one who’s been sitting there doing nothing. “ he argues back.

“Both of you shut up!” Chae snaps, she was tired of hearing Na-Yeon complain all day as it was and now she’s stuck between them having a lovers tiff.

“I’m not one of them,” I-Sak says and walks to a mirror.

“What?” Chae stands up, causing Gyeong-Su to bump his head on the chair. He rubs his head and stands up too.” I’m not, On-Jo,” blood started coming from I-Sak’s nose, On-Jo ran and hugged her best friend rightly as tears fell from her eyes.

“I wouldn’t bite you, why would I bite you?” I- Sak was scared. “I- I’m not like them,” she cries.

“Maybe you hit your no-“ On-Jo yelped as I-Sak did exactly what Min-Jae did. I-Sak got back up and ran for On-Jo. Wu-Jin pulls Chae back and Cheong- San battled with a zombified I-Sak. Eventually she was flung from the window and On-Jo grabbed her hand.

“On-Jo, let go!” Both Cheong-San and Chae- Young ran over and grabbed her so she wouldn’t fall. On-Jo was too upset to speak. She gripped onto I-Sak until Cheong- San moved for a moment and grabbed a chair. He started hitting I-Sak until she fell to the courtyard below.

On-Jo walked away followed by Chae, who just wanted to comfort her sister. “I have nobody now. Nobody is alive that I like. “On-Jo cries. Chae felt a pang in her heart at her sisters words. They have been best friends since the womb, quite literally. “Y-you have me and dad,” Chae softly smiles.

“You’re just my sister,” On-Jo buried her head in her arms and cried silently.

“Screw you,” Chae mutters and walks to the under end of the classroom.

“I’m not going without her,” Chae looks down at the rope, then back to On-Jo, “I’ll bring her, go,” Cheong-San assures her, patting her back.

“If I fall, I’ll stab you,” Chae was terrified of heights. She jumps up and steadies herself before slowly climbing down. Wu-Jin and Dae-Su pulls her down.

“Oh god, I didn’t die,” she hugs Wu-Jin happily, grateful she didn’t die, and watches On-Jo step in. The student’s waited for what felt like an eternity for Cheong-San. But instead, corpses flung down. Chae covers her mouth in shock.

Did she just witness Cheong- San die?

Actor: Kim Young Hoon. (Another person from Love Revolution, I shipped his character and Jung Da In's character on the show so their relationship in the fic really is wish fulfilment with these two.)

Actor: Nam Da Reum. (He's known for being the younger versions of many different actors in various kdramas but he's getting his own lead roles now so good for him. Also he's just too cute and exactly what I imagine when I think of Gong Jae Yi.)

Actress: Park Min Young. (Specifically watch Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim since I loved that drama so much)

Tag game : Top 5 male characters

I got tagged by @izzy-jellybaby

I didn't know if it was just bl characters or not so I'll just do two lists :

1. Saint Suppapong as Tutor. ( Why R U the series)

It is Saint's best role to date. The character is complex, the acting is superb, the emotions displayed are amazing. He's not just a stern guy with problems, he can be soft, he can be strong. He's perfect.

Okay. I had to choose a sensual gif.

2. Off Jumpol as Khai (Theory of Love)

I just love Khai. His development, his whole character. Yes he was a dumb asshole in the beginning but he grew up. His acting, man his acting. He was soooo good. He made me cry. His emotions were displayed so well. He loved his friends, he made mistakes but made amends for them too. And in the end, all the shit that the others throw at him, he just accepts it. It hurt me. When he wasn't at fault for the kiss with girl and everyone blamed him, he blamed himself and I wanted to just hug him and tell him, no it's not. He's my baby.

3. Gun as Third (Theory of Love)

Gun is such an amazing actor and I loved Third's struggles. He's shown to be a pushover at first, but as the show progresses his character completely changes. He knows when to stand his ground, he knows how to protect himself and others. He might be hurting but he's not cruel. He's strong and he shows it throughout the series. I love him.

4. Nut Nutchapong as Nueng (Grey Rainbow)

Grey Rainbow in itself is such a touching show. It's gentle and warm and heartwarming, heartbreaking as well. I had difficulty choosing in between Porsche and Nueng but I prefer Nueng I guess. The moment he realised that both of them loved each other, he went all in. He loved with all his heart, whether it was Jean or Porsche. He was so compassionate, so straightforward, so perfect in every sense. A person like Nueng can not be forgotten. He's the kind of guy that could warm up the coldest heart with his earnestness. He loved Porsche. Their moments as just friends, the way he cared for him after the incident, the way he was always so worried about him. Aah. The feels. The acting was superb.

5. Fandy Fan as Hsia Yu Hao (History 2: Crossing the Line)

This is such a cute show. So adorable. Fandy was sooooooo cute. He fell in love with Qui Zi Xuan and was just a pupppppy. He kept doing things for him, staring at him, being happy at being complimented. He was soo cute that I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Honorable mention: Nine Kornchid as Kit (2 moons 2)

Nine owned the role. Out of all the 2 moons characters, Kit was the one with the most story to work with I think. His character was snarky, sarcastic, had a good wholesome love story, from being wooed and being flustered and then developing the relationship and trust. Kit was a trustworthy and good friend, an intelligent to-be doctor, straight and snarky with words, but a total teddy bear. He didn't like the games Ming played, but didn't want to hurt him. He didn't want to believe in love, but felt happy being wooed.

Plus I love nine so. No gif for nine, because only 10 gifs allowed per post. So....

Top 5 male characters in general

1. Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo (Boys over flowers)

It was any first ever kdrama and Gu Jun Pyo. Aah I have no words. He's hilarious. And lovable. And funny and cute and everything. He was so stupid and dumb but so pitiful at the same time. How he could suddenly believe that Geum Jan Do likes him? That scene still cracks me up to this day

2. Ji Chang Wook as Seo Jung Ho (Healer)

My favorite kdrama to date, Ji Chang Wook was amaaaazing as healer. All rounded, hot, sometimes adorable, always fiesty and intelligent. He was so well matched with Park Min Young. She was as strong as him. He never undermined her and they always moved shoulder to shoulder, side by side. I loved the feminist vibes as a whole.

3. Cho Seung Woo as Hwang Shi Mok (Secret Forest)

Cho Seung Woo is a brilliant actor and this serial, OMG the suspense, the ease with which it's done. It's perfect. He was cool calm composed, unearthing secrets, tenacious. He couldn't feel but he was so hurt by the ones they lost. Aah. Hwang Shi Mok. U are a gem.

4. Park Hyeung Shik as Ahn Min Hyuk (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon)

Aaaah Park Hyeung Shik was sooooo cute here. He was perfect. He loved Do Bong Soon just as she was, loved her strength. He was always so supportive of her and he was super duper intelligent and fun loving.

5. Nam Joo Hyuk as Jung Joon Hyun (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo)

The bestest friend, the perfect loving boyfriend, funny, hot body and all around a beautiful person. Need I say more?

The end of a semester is usually your favourite time of the year for obvious reasons: academic freedom, one year closer to your degree, and summer vacation. Summer rings in new fun, new travels, new people.

Perhaps, a new love.

Summer time also meant more time to see Nam Joon. As your friendgroup tends to be more clingy with the hot atmosphere, something about the idea of this summer with Nam Joon makes you feel weird. It doesn’t excite or repulse you.. Instead, it makes you feel confused.

It’s inevitable that your mind is clouded with petty thoughts and sadness. After all that has happened; you’re so burnt out from studying alone and sinking into the bitter feeling of needing to prove people wrong.

The truth is; you’re not that dumb.

You’re merely average.. Putting in the work simply isn’t your forte.

What you hate is when people make you feel stupid.

Nam Joon, regardless of the many insults, has never made you feel stupid until the day you knocked on his door in the pouring rain. When you had asked him if he had feelings for you and he looked at you like you couldn’t possibly know—it hurt.

Did he think you were that stupid? Stupid enough that you couldn’t comprehend the difference between lies and truth? The difference between feelings and lust? The lines are thin… But not invisible.

Invisible is what you felt.

Nam Joon sure had a talent for making you feel a million little things. From sex to the actual friendship—he has always had a way with you… And just like that, as you exit your lecture building with your exam mark in your hands—you see him.

He stands there, leaning against a campus pole, arms crossed with his a little smile to greet you with. Nam Joon raises his hand and waves at you. He does his best to look nonchalant as he fights the urge to run to you.

Oh, if only he could run to you.

It’s like his breath is taken from him the moment your eyes meet his. He wants to take your hand and be with you so bad.. To be with you as if nothing happened and he could erase every dumb thing he ever said and did to you.

But he doesn’t.

Instead, he lets the moment sink and ache. In response to his presence, you roll your eyes at him. Then, you let out a sigh, turn the other cheek, and begin to walk to the opposite direction. It’s then when Nam Joon realizes that you’ve figured it out.

The truth is; he has always been the dumb one between you two.

“Are you gonna follow me inside too or are we done?”

Your harsh tone catches Nam Joon off guard. He lifts his head from looking at his feet. The entire way here, he has been watching his feet follow yours. He looked like a lost puppy, trying to keep it’s distance but also so desperate to be loved and taken.

He didn’t mean to come off like a creep. This entire walk has been so painful and slow. Yet, he found comfort in just being within your reach. Even if you didn’t need him or didn’t even turn your head back once to check on him—he’d still follow you to wherever.

To the end of the earth.

To where your heart had wandered off to.

To wherever you go; he would follow.

Nam Joon has always loved that about you. The way your certainty leaked and inspired him to be the same regardless of the logistics of the decisions. Your love to live life is contagious. He never truly feels like he’s living if he’s not with you. He needs you.

As he wraps up his train of thoughts, Nam Joon clears his throat to answer.

You beat him to it.

“Go home, Nam Joon. Have a good summer. I’ll see you around,” you dismiss him. As you turn away, he catches your wrist and holds you still.

“I called you.”

You stiffen, surprised he’s even talking right now. He has never been the type to touch you in public. It was exactly in his character to follow you around and not say a thing… But this? You stare at his hands wrapped around your wrist. When was the last time you two touched? Before you get dizzy from your own thoughts, you defend yourself: “I was taking the exam. Can’t use my phone—”

“I called you last night. Seven times. I left voice messages and even texted you after you told me to fuck off. I asked around for your professors morning routine so I could stall him because I was afraid you’d be late to the exam or needed at least a fifteen minute review with your classmates. I stalled him for twenty-three minutes. I stood outside, in this fucking heat, waiting for you to come out and... I don’t know? Look at me? Talk to me? You walked away. You told me to fuck off. Now, you’re telling me to go home and that you’ll see me around?” Nam Joon’s voice hitches at the end. “I don’t want to just see you around. I want more than that.”

You look at him, eyebrows furrowed together. “Get lost.”

“You’re doing it again.”

“Get lost.”

He shakes his head.

“Where you go, I go.”

You glare at him.

Fine, two can play this game.

“And if I go to Hobi? You owe me a boyfriend, by the way.”

Nam Joon lets go of your wrist. Slightly hurt, he asks: “you still like him?”

“Who else am I supposed to like?”

“Me.”

In this moment, you see something in him that you’ve never seen before.

Honesty.

Before you can say anything, your phone chimes with a notification. Quickly, you take your phone out and check.

EXAM RESULTS: Available

“My grade came in,” you breathe. “Fuck. Why did they mark it so fast?”

“Wasn’t it just scantron, dummy?” he teases, peaking his head over to see your phone. You tilt your phone towards you and side eye him. What if you failed? That’d be such an embarrassing grade for him to witness you receive!

Hell fucking no.

“Okay, okay... Check your grade, beautiful.”

Instantly, you look at him in shock. His cheeks flush in pink but he doesn’t take what he called you back. He meant it. Nam Joon offers a shy smile and looks into the distances, trying to downplay your reaction.

As you sign in to check your results, he continues to be the smartass that he is. “Wanna know a secret? When I took this class last sem, I got a 89.2% on the final. It was kind of hard.. Like, I remember actually being stumped on the questions. If you have to retake the class; I promise I’ll be by your side. It’s a hard class! I know at least two other people that had to retake it—what? Did you pass?”

You stare at him blankly.

A part of you tries to process his comforting promise while the other part of you gets lost his eyes. They look so desperate and sparkly—almost like they’re in love.

Could they be?

… Focus.

You check your grade. It reads:

EXAM RESULTS: Available

93.6% PASS.

“___? Are you okay? Was the exam that bad?” he begins to panic. Without thinking twice, he pulls you close to take a peak. You shut your phone screen off and shake your head at him.

“Come on, ___! What did you get?”

You shrug at him, staying emotionless. Your feelings are beginning to overwhelm you, but you need to stabilize them for the sake of whatever is going on between you and him.

You stay silent. Eyes soft, almost watering from the relief you feel. Fuck, you worked so hard. You feel so accomplished.

On the other hand, Nam Joon feels like he’s been kicked in the stomach. He feels so much guilt. Did you fail because of him? He doesn’t know what to say or to do. It’s a good thing Hobi advised him not to bring flowers... Instead, Nam Joon brought his entire heart. Even if he doesn’t say it, he knows it’s yours and that, my friends, is way better than flowers.

“Tell me or I’ll kiss you—”

“I didn’t do that well,” you pout, crossing your arms. You decide to commit to your lie purely because of the way his expression softened.

He’s cute.

“What now? You going to call me stupid? You going to fuck around with my feelings again and—”

Nam Joon crashes his lips onto yours. Without much thought, you sink into it and feel butterflies as he wraps his arms around your waist. When he pulls away, he fixes your hair and cups your cheeks.

“You did well, ___.”

Pouting, you push him off of you. Somehow, he takes a hold of your hand and stands there innocently. You tilt your head at him completely confused.

“What does this mean?”

“You’re smart,” Nam Joon teases, dipping his head low and pressing a kiss on your cheek. “Figure it out.”

Este año cambiaron de profesor de lenguaje extranjero: inglés. Y como en los años anteriores se sentía como estar constantemente en un curso básico de inglés nunca pude comprender lo difícil que podría llegar a ser si el profesor enseñaba lo que debería. Si no fuese por Namjoon. No mentía si decía que había priorizado el estar con él a que tener mejores resultados en mis calificaciones, es que me gustaba y bastante, pero tenía que mantenerme en el anonimato para que no se alejara y me privara de su compañía y las clases, claro.

-¿tienes alguna frase para mi hoy?.-rei mientra dejaba entrar a Nam a casa, el me miro desafiante y pensó un momento, juraría ver una mejilla roja. Tal vez el sol.

-I am very indecisive and always have trouble picking my favorite anything. But, without a doubt, you are my favorite everything.-rio nervioso y entró a sentarse en la mesa para tener más comodidad.

-aveces me gustaría captar mejor lo que me dices lo único que alcanse a entender es always, my favorite y everything pero no puedo enlazar una frase.-me senté a su lado y apoyé mi cabeza en su hombro esperando que mis intenciones no fueran descubiertas.

-okey, ¿dónde nos quedamos la clase anterior?.- abrió un libro y seguido comenzó a explicarme algunas reglas generales. Por momentos decía alguna oracion corta para que pudiera traducirla.Cuando estuve más confiada de lo que respondía él me dejo unos ejercicios y se fue a ver una serie en inglés.

Algo que ocasionalmente me prohibía era el celular y como no lo había usado hasta ahora aproveché para buscar unas cositas en el, de paso vi unas fotos de mi Nam en Instagram, vi algunas otras cosas, conversaba con su hermana hasta que Nam me lo quitó de las manos sin siquiera dejarme bloquearlo. Yo y mi suerte de dejar el chat abierto.

-¿puedes dejar de distraerte? este Viernes tienes examen de recuperación y no me gustaría verte fracasar.- dijo con un tono un poco monótono al usual. La verdad es que Nam es callado y pronuncia pocas palabras-por lo menos no es así conmigo- tiene un aire rudo y misterioso. Al comienzo fue esa una de las razones por la que me enamore y también fue que entre veces se comporta como un gatito indefenso y travieso que rompe muchas cosas.

-¿porqué me amas?.-indagué a que me respondiera, era solo una broma pero anhelaba que dijera que sí.

-si aja, lo digo porque si pasa me sentiré el peor teacher de la vida.-me miró burlón y se fue con mi celular.

-¿Nam, te puedo proponer algo?.- lo sostuve del codo y el me miro como diciendo que prosiguiera con mi estafa.- si paso el examen... ¿me das un beso?.-lo mire muy nerviosa y con las orejas calientes.

-¿co-como planeas que haga eso?.-tocio un poco nervioso.

Me levanté y lo tome de las solapas de su abrigo y lo bese. Cerré mis ojos, no quería ver su cara, esto era tan maravilloso. Es mejor de lo que imagine, sus labios son suaves y sin ninguna imperfección. Agarro mi cintura con sus brazos y me acarició lentamente la espalda con un pulgar.

-open.- murmuró y no hice más que obedecer. Mi abuela decía que es primer beso es torpe e inocente. Gracias a Dios que este no es el primero porque no tiene nada de torpe e inocente más bien es una gloria estar así con el. Lentamente sentía que mi organismo reaccionaba despertando mi libido. Cuando nos separamos yo seguía agarrada de sus solapas y junte mi frente en su fornido pecho.

-la clase...termino.-palmeo amistosamente mi espalda y recogió sus libros y salió por donde vino. Quede un poco atónita y llena de vergüenza me golpee la cabeza con mi palma abierta, salte y grite abochornada. Esa noche no dormí y al día siguiente no llegue a clase tan temprano como acostumbraba.

El día del examen de recuperación estaba muy nerviosa y no pude repasar con Namjoon. Esto era terrible ¿y si deja de hablarme? o ¿si no quiere seguir las clases?. Esto es un martirio de primera categoría.

-Kang Soo ___.- llamó el evaluador.- en la mesa 14.

-sí, espere un momento.- le suplique con la mirada y arregle mi camisa un poco.

-si no entra diré lo mismo cuando tenga que justificar.-me miro un poco molesto y no tuve más elección que entra.

El examen constaba de 20 preguntas de alternativa, y un cuestionario oral. No tenía mucho en mente que no fuese ver a Nam cuando saliera. Espero que no me haya ido terrible.

-Como plan de estudio se tenía en mente considerara tutores que le han ido ayudando y guiando espero no lo hayan decepcionado, el joven Kim Nam Joon se retiró de la tutoría la semana pasada de ante manos pido disculpas a su alumna temporal.- el evaluador explicó con el tono de voz ambiguo y miro a todo.- ¿quién era el alumno de Kim Nam..-levante la mano con torpeza.

-soy yo. -interrumpí al hombre de cabello platinado a su vez prontamente me divisó al final del salón y arrugó notoriamente sus facciones

-tiene motivos para retirarse. -murmuró entre dientes. - al finalizar toda la evaluación quédese para que el que era su tutor se disculpe.

Solo quedaba yo, los demás ya había agotado todas sus esperanzas, pero algo dentro de mí no quería fallarle a Nam. Cuando la entregue la prueba, él evaluador de la mirada agria se fue y a los minutos ingresó Nam.

-como veo no te fue fácil la prueba. -se acercó a mi cubículo y tomo asiento frente a mí, introdujo su mano en su abrigo y no pude dejar de mirarlo. - no seas tan obvia __.-me paso mi celular.

-oh

-supondré que las palabras no son mucho lo tuyo, mira se supone que tenía que comentarte que había cancelado la tutoría porque no me apetecía explicarle a alguien que se me asignaría al azar y la primera clase solo me venía a disculpar por cancelar y todo, pero eras tú. - gire mi cabeza curiosa como un gatito. Lastima. Pensé por un milisegundo.Me tuvo lástima. -uff ¿sabes que el ajedrez es difícil? lo aprendí porque un tiempo estuviste en esa academia y pensé que te gustaba. En muchas ocasiones descubrí pasiones que no sabía que tenía por ti, la cosa es que todo lo que custodia mi corazón solo llega a un punto en común que es que me enamore de esa chica descuidada y feliz y siento que calzas mucho conmigo y no quiero que detengas esa esencia. Siempre ha significado mucho el que la chica que me guste tenga cosas similares, me entiende y a la vez me nutre.-tomo mi mano y la llevó a su corazón.-I am very indecisive and always have trouble picking my favorite anything. To this day your best friend Jimin knew nothing of what happened in the science classroom, all he knew, or so he thought he knew, was that Jungkook and you got into a heated, very heated, argument about him telling Namjoon to back off from you. Your eyes focused on the words that connected to battles that happened centuries ago, to names that in some lifetime meant something to people, however, your studying was interrupted by a very enthusiastic Jimin.

“____!!! Guess what?” He grinned and stared at you, your eyes met his and you cocked your eyebrow confused as to what he could be so excited about but since he received no answer from you he sighed. “Fine, well the dance team is in need of some money, so we’re doing a fundraiser.” He beamed. You nodded and smiled.

“Don’t tell me, a carwash?” You plopped the flashcards into your bag and the two of you began to walk towards the 400 halls.

Shi Jin is immediately smitten with Mo Yeon, and he asks her out on a date. They decide to break off their budding relationship as a result.

Dae Young also tries to break off his relationship with Army doctor Yoon Myeong Ju (Kim Ji Won) because her father, Lt. General Yoon (Kang Shin Il), thinks Shi Jin is a better match for his daughter.

Shi Jin and Dae Young are then deployed to the fictional war-torn country of Urk on a long-term assignment of helping the United Nations keep peace in the area. After repeatedly being passed over for a promotion because of her lack of connections, Mo Yeon gives up performing surgeries, loosening her principles somewhat to become a celebrity TV doctor and caring for VIP patients at the hospital. But when she refuses the sexual advances of the hospital chairman, Mo Yeon is picked to lead a medical team to staff a clinic in Urk! There, Mo Yeon unexpectedly reconnects with Shi Jin.

A young woman with bad premonition dreams meets two people who suddenly develop the same ability.

Nam Hong Joo (Suzy) lives with her mother, Yoon Moon Sun (Hwang Young Hee), a widow who runs a small restaurant. Jung Jae Chan (Lee Jong Suk), a rookie prosecutor, and his younger brother, Seung Won (Shin Jae Ha), move in across the street. Since she was young, Hong Joo has had the ability to see bad events before they happen, but she is often unable to do anything about it.

One day, Jae Chan has a strange premonition dream about an accident involving Hong Joo and Lee Yoo Beom (Lee Sang Yeob), a ruthless attorney who used to be Jae Chan’s tutor. Jae Chan decides to interfere in the course of events and ends up saving the lives of Hong Joo and Han Woo Tak (Jung Hae In), a young police officer. When Jae Chan, Hong Joo and Woo Tak then start having dreams about one another, they realize that their lives are now somehow entwined.

But can the three discover the reason that they were brought together, and can they prevent the people closest to them from getting hurt?

5. Just Between Lovers (Rain or Shine)

A building collapse ties the fates of three young people years later. Ten years ago, the S Mall collapsed due to shoddy construction, killing 48 people inside.

Ha Moon Soo (Won Jin Ah) was there with her younger sister, who perished in the accident. Lee Kang Doo (Junho) was there waiting for his father, who was an electrician doing work on the building. Seo Joo Won (Lee Ki Woo) was helping out his father, who was the head engineer of the building. Moon Soo, Kang Doo and Joo Won survived the horrible accident, but their loved ones did not.

Years later, Joo Won is an architect who is working on a new project to replace the former S Mall. With her keen eye for detail and sturdy building construction, Moon Soo ends up working for Joo Won on the project. Kang Doo works odd jobs to get by and ends up working at the new construction site.

How will they each deal with their respective pains as they are reminded of the event that changed all of their lives so profoundly?

6. Father Is Strange

This is one of those things that can disrupt a seemingly normal family. Byun Han Soo (Kim Young Chul) lives on the outskirts of Seoul with his selfless wife, Na Young Sil (Kim Hae Sook). Their bustling lives center around his small diner, “Daddy’s Snack Shop,” and their four adult children, Joon Young (Min Jin Woong), Hye Young (Lee Yoo Ri), Mi Young (Jung So Min) and Ra Young (Ryu Hwayoung).

Joon Young tries not to disappoint his parents as he has been unable to pass the civil service exam for five years. Hye Young is the most accomplished as a successful attorney who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Cha Jung Hwan (Ryu Soo Young), a television producer-director. After years of trying to land a job, Mi Young finally lands her dream job as an intern for Gabi Entertainment, only to discover that her high school bully, Kim Yoo Joo (Lee Mi Do), works there as a team leader. Ra Young works a yoga instructor and falls for Park Cheol Soo (Ahn Hyo Seop), who has absolutely no interest in returning her attention.

The close-knit Byun family is thrown into turmoil when Ahn Joong Hee (Lee Joon), an idol-turned-actor, shows up one day and claims that Han Soo is his father. Joong Hee is widely ridiculed by netizens as a robotic actor, but he is determined to earn respect by landing a role in a highly anticipated miniseries about a father-son relationship. But in order to conjure the emotions needed for the role, Joong Hee decides he needs to get to know the father he believes abandoned him and his mother 35 years ago.

Will Joong Hee’s appearance threaten to reveal a deeply buried secret and otherwise disrupt Han Soo’s happy family life?

Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) is a weightlifting phenom who has only focused on barbells her entire life while growing up with her father, Kim Chang Gul (Ahn Gil Kang), is a former weightlifter. She attends Hanwool College of Physical Education, a university full of top-notch athletes who are driven to succeed in the hopes of representing their country in national and international competitions.

Bok Joo went to the same elementary school as Jung Joon Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) but reunites with him in college. He is now a competitive swimmer who is having trouble recovering from the trauma of being disqualified for a false start in his first international swim competition.

Song Shi Ho (Kyung Soo Jin) is a fiercely competitive rhythmic gymnast who won a silver medal at the Asian Games when she was 18, but the pressures of her sport drive her to break up with Joon Hyung. Bok Joo’s tunnel-vision life starts to change when she falls in love with Joon Hyung’s older cousin, Jung Jae Yi (Lee Jae Yoon), a former athlete who became an obesity doctor after suffering a career-ending injury.

Will Bok Joo learn that there is more to life than weightlifting?

8. Queen In Hyun’s Man

Every actress hopes that an opportunity will come along to play an iconic role that could bring her out of obscurity and make her a star.

But unknown to Hye Rim, Soo Hyun is running a top-secret experiment on her “ideal type of man” with the help of his younger half-brother, Choi Seung Chan (Jung Jin Woon), and clinic employee Won Ji Ho (Lee Joo Hyung). But unknown to Soo Hyun, Hye Rim also is being paid by a mysterious man to get a hold of Soo Hyun’s valuable experiment files. What is Soo Hyun’s true experiment, and will Hye Rim help him or hurt him in his research goals?

The Guardians tells the story of a group of people who team up to serve justice themselves after losing their loved ones to criminals. The group consists of a detective, prosecutor, hacker, and an extremely shy person. They want to give these criminals the punishment that they deserve, and take matters into their own hands as the corrupt justice system in South Korea fails to capture the culprits.

11. Circle (Circle: Two Worlds Connected)

A sci-fi mystery drama that takes place in both the year 2017 and the year 2037. In 2007, twin brothers, Kim Woo-jin and Kim Bum-gyun, witness an alien arrival that brings about a huge change in their lives. In 2017, Kim Woo-jin (Yeo Jin-goo), now a college student, notices that a series of suicides in his university is somehow linked to his brother, Kim Bum-gyun (An Woo-yeon). While in pursuit of the case, he meets Han Jung-yeon (Gong Seung-yeon), another college student who is investigating the serial suicides. In 2037, South Korea is now divided into General Earth, a heavily polluted place where crimes are rampant, and Smart Earth, a clean and peaceful city free from crimes. Kim Joon-hyuk (Kim Kang-woo) is a crime detective who tries to get into Smart Earth to investigate a case of twin brothers who went missing in 2017. Each episode contains two parts, the first part is set in 2017 called “Beta Project,” while the second part is set in 2037 called “Brave New World.”

The series follows a group of rich, privileged, and high school students as they are about to take over their families' business empires, overcoming difficulties and growing every step of the way.

Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) is a wealthy heir to a large Korean conglomerate called Jeguk Group.[9] He was exiled to the U.S. by his brother Kim Won (Choi Jin-hyuk), who tries to take control of the family business.[10] While in the States, he meets Cha Eun-sang (Park Shin-hye), who went there to look for her sister.[11] Despite being engaged to Yoo Rachel (Kim Ji-won), a fellow heiress, Kim Tan soon falls in love with Eun-sang. When Kim Tan returns to Korea, his former best friend turned enemy Choi Young-do (Kim Woo-bin) begins picking on Eun-sang to irritate Tan. Tension ensues when Young-do also falls in love with Eun-sang, and Kim Tan is forced to choose between responsibility of pursuing the family business or love.

13. Laughter in Waikiki (Welcome to Waikiki)

The story of three men who come to run a failing guesthouse called Waikiki. Complications spark when their guesthouse is visited by a single mother and her baby.

14. I’m Not a Robot

Kim Min-kyu (Yoo Seung-ho) lives an isolated life due to a severe allergy to other people. He develops extreme rashes that rapidly spread throughout his body once he makes any form of skin contact. Jo Ji-ah (Chae Soo-bin) is a woman who is trying to make it in life by creating her own businesses. However, after an encounter with Min-kyu, she ends up pretending to be a robot in place of the supposed Aji 3 robot. The Aji 3 robot was developed by Ji-ah's ex-boyfriend, professor Hong Baek-kyun (Um Ki-joon) and his team. The robot was meant to be tested by genius Min-kyu, however an accident caused the robot's battery to malfunction. As Baek-kyun modeled the robot after Ji-ah, the team ends up recruiting her to take the place of Aji 3.

15. Because This Is My First Life

House-poor Nam Se-hee (Lee Min-ki) and homeless Yoon Ji-ho (Jung So-min), both unmarried in their thirties, start living together as housemates.
