Re-watching tua before S3 comes out, and I just- at the start of S1 ep1 we see Five's painting and Ben's statue, and I just got the thought, if Viktor had died, would they have done anything, would he have gotten a painting or statue, or anything similar to his brothers?

What are your favorite musical moments in tv shows?

OMG I love this ask. Music used effectively in tv can stick with you for years and become inseparable from that scene/show. So I think there are two ways to answer this question - music as soundtrack or music a character performs in scene.

I think I’ll do Music as Soundtrack

Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits, The West Wing: Plays at the end of the S2 finale ‘Two Cathedrals’ after Jed wrestles with God and loss and where the question lingers ‘is Bartlett going to run for a second term?’ I still cry every time.

All Along the Watchtower - Bear McCreary, Battlestar Galactica: Plays in the last scene of the S3 finale ‘Crossroads, Part II’ and brings answers to two of the biggest questions on the show - who are the final cylons and is Earth a myth? Chills. Just... chills. Bear McCreary is one of the best tv composers in the business and the arrangement and use of this song here exemplifies that.

Constantinople - They Might Be Giants, The Umbrella Academy: S1 Ep1 ends with this banger that soundtracks a fight scene in a donut shop where a 50-something teenager beats the living shit out of a whole squad come to fetch him. If I didn’t love Number Five from earlier in the ep, I sure as fuck loved him now.

Dancing With Myself - Generation X, The Umbrella Academy: look, TUA has the best overall soundtrack, hands down. In S2 we get an epic old!Five vs young!Five fight scene with this as the backdrop and look, it’s just perfect.

You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive - Darrell Scott, Justified: So, they use this song multiple times in the series (I think it closes out every season finale except S3) and multiple covers of it depending on the feel of the ep. But it always signifies a confrontation and Raylan is left standing but forced again to deal with who he is and how his youth in Harlan shaped him, and how some ties can never be fully severed. But my favorite version is the original Darrell Scott version that closes out S7. Honestly, the music in Justified is the perfectly crafted bluegrass cherry on top of what is one of the most tightly written series on television.

hmmm, so reginald thought people were out to get him? interesting now that we’re going back to the ‘present’ before he died in s3

it is interesting how much of s1 they had to ignore in s2 to make it work. like how much diego had to do with detective patch

as good as ellen and john are, there is no chemistry there

vanya again tries to stop a fight between diego and luther but specifically tells luther to calm down but it’s not half as harsh as when she was addressing diego in ep1

wow there is some real animosity between allison and diego i hope that comes up later

wow vanya’s room is sad compared to the others. it’s like half the size and there’s nothing in it.

‘you ever heard of a rope-a-dope’ shut up diego you try too damn hard lol

luther tells vanya to run and immediately tries to check on her during the fight with hazel

i am actually surprised no one knew about luther’s accident/gorrilla-ing. i thought for sure they all knew he almost DIED and got turned into A GORILLA

is grace’s cross stitch a moon with a chunk broken off of it?

y’all diego is very actively hateful towards vanya in the first couple episodes, so like shut up that everyone else loves vanya but luther
