Oh, and let's not forget our awesome cover artist and illustrator, @reverse-mermaid, who got to write out this poem TWICE -- once for us, in English, and once again in Czech.
Look at how cute this came out! The paperback copies of the Czech translation of Red Heir arrived in the mail and it made me smile for the entire day! I love that Loth and Quinn and Dave and Pie and Benji and Calarian are still making people laugh almost four years later!
Also I’m so grateful to @thisdiscontentedwinter for persuading me to take a chance on writing with her, because you know what? We’re a hell of a team!

Nothing makes me happier to see Red Heir in Czech, and know that this weird and deeply ridiculous little story is reaching a whole new audience!
I am still laughing at the (awesome and lovely) publisher tearing her hair out at how to translate some of those ridiculous puns.
Also, that's gonna look fucking AMAZING on my shelf!

Dark Space the Graphic Novel is up for preorder!
Well, we have a series page! That's a start, right?
Please note that the last 2 parts are still in review with Amazon, but they should hopefully be up in a few more days.
So here's the deal. The graphic novel is in 3 parts, and they're all out on May 1. Amazon will only let me set up preorders for ebooks, not paperbacks, but the paperbacks will be out on May 1 as well, for those who prefer to read graphic novels in that format.

Landlord with mortgage stress: "Oh no, I'll have to sell this property."
Renter with rental stress: "I have to live in my car now."
These two things are not the same.
If a landlord is in financial stress due to an investment they chose to make they can sell one of their multiple properties (that's if the tax deduction from negative gearing isn't enough, because our tax system spends more helping landlords than it does on any other aspect of housing support).
If a renter is in financial stress they can get kicked out without justification and can end up homeless because they can't afford anywhere due to unlimited rent increases.
These two risks are not the same and only the Greens actually understand and are pushing for us as a country to reassess how we view housing. It's a human right - not something the rich should be able to hoard and make endless profit off.

I've had a few lovely messages in my inbox lately telling me how much ppl like my fanfic—which, blushing—and saying they hope I write more. And I will, I promise!
But the last six months have been consumed with a trip to the US for a month, and writing four back to back frat boy novels in the Alpha Tau series with @thisdiscontentedwinter
The Amazing Alpha Tau Project is a lighthearted contemporary m/m romance series containing college shenanigans, frat boys who discover new things about themselves, and first times with guaranteed happy endings.
in all honesty? It was meant to be just one book, but then people really liked them and we have too much fun writing together and we also have zero impulse control, so after a planning session at LA airport over cocktails, one book became became four, and here we are!
Sleep? Days off? I don't know them.
Deadlines? I know her, and she's a bitch.

So far in 2024
The thing is, writing doesn't *feel* like work, even though it definitely is, which means sometimes I feel like I haven't done much. So it's helpful sometimes to look back and see what I've done so far this year! This is a reminder to myself that so far this year I've:
Written for three months solid, resulting in writing somewhere around 120-130k in conjunction with @thisdiscontentedwinter
Released and promoted book two in the Alpha Tau series
Written the next two books in the series back to back for May and July releases
Edited one of those books and proofed the other
Written three free novellas as promotional material
Signed up with Podium to have the Alpha Tau series released on audio
Had The King's Delight released in Italian
So if you ever think you're not achieving anything, sometimes it's helpful to take a moment. Shit gets done when you're not looking!

Fictional characters are objects.
They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.
