Reasons:
- Messy black hair - Whiny - Has a tsundere friend - "Friend" - Wears the most boring fucking clothing
Normcore king. He is just A Guy. He’s the first character I thought of when I saw your intro post.
Most normal kid with depression and abandonment issues ever (and I say this very lovingly). His hair is brown and short with generic bangs, his eyes are brown. Literally just some guy (before the horrors (tm)) His default outfit is black shirt, white dressing shirt, black pants, white shoes (which is also his school uniform)
He just wants to go to high school, have weird feelings about girls, and brood about his relationship with his father. He does not want to get in the fucking robot
He’s a teenager with short black hair and a button up top and uniform pants. Given the iconic status of NGE, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shinji’s design served as a basis for every generic modern mecha/isekai series to come after.

He deserves a win after going through the horrors(tm). I know a lot of people don't like Shinji BECAUSE he's "too generic/depressed to be a main character" but if anything that should make him win. He's my blorbo ok? He was literally just some guy who one day got the fate of the world in his hands out of nowhere and when he reasonably is like "yo I'm like super depressed, this is only making me more mentally ill than I already was" everyone goes "ok, pussy much? Call the wambulance" and I think he deserved better. Also he's gay (or at the very least bisexual), so like diversity win. Let him win. Also if he wins we can all say "Congratulations, Shinji" like in the anime

Roasts of his design aside, Shinji is a genuinely great and fascinating protagonist. His struggles with depression, identity, self worth and hedgehogs dilemma are compelling to watch and, for a then socially anxious teenage me, were at times crushingly relatable. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but he still has a place in my heart.

his name is LITERALLY a play on the japanese equivalent of the phrase "just some guy". he is DESIGNED to be a generic-ass dude. everything about him is comically average.

hii. been busy here and there so all ive done is rewatching unfinished anime series and dealing w both asthma and acute laryngitis and depression 🤡🤡
but ive been thinking abt hayami whenever i listen to mitski so. I Have To make a post abf her
this will be hcs mostly.............. 💀 some hcs/interpretation will be ooc as i need to rewatch the anime + reread the manga and the korotan series. but it physically hurts me sometimes bc i get too excited, then ill spiral into hatred for the series. ALSO MY INTEREST IN IT HAS BEEN DILUTING? THATS NOT GOOD!

- i think hayami straightens her hair for the majority of her middle school final yr. bc in the manga, its shown in the manga that she still has curly frilly hair but to separate herself from Irina, its tied up and straightened
- which leaves me to think shes those cases of blonde suddenly turn brunette as they grow older but in her case its like hella obvious. I dont think her mom would let her dye her hair so the dying hair thing is out of the question for me
- this mostly stems from the ova where she has blonde hair + some ppls interpretation of hayami in which she has brown hair and i think thats so swag
- i think hayami has hazel eyes.. just bc it just seems fitting that she does yk. and also brown hair + hazel eyes combo hayami ? God Bless
- how others see hayamis eyes can depend on the lighting.. like when its sunset it appears more brown to others or when its morning, it appears more green. could even be gold in a very specific moment
- its mentioned that hayami is more expressive in the beginning of assclass and gets more stoic later on.
- And then i think abt how matsui tried to box hayami into the tsundere stereotype even tho it just makes me see her more as a person w communication problems and issues handling her facial expressions

- shes so catcore. Hayami was a latchkey child from a very young age. we dont rlly have any info on hayamis life from her graduation forward aside from some in the korotan, the epilogue and like some meta info,,
hayami was relied on a lot and had to do others dirty bidding. i imagine her believing that it was some form of friendship, some way of maintaining their relationship (considering the absence of her father and mother and her chasing for validations)
i think her previous classmates were afraid of her at the beginning, but when realized that hayami had good intentions, they used her loneliness to benefit themselves

its so weird to me that hayami stagnated in her development? (her being a receptionist, the whole "she strives to be a coworker everyone can rely on" and also singlehandedly fishing chiba out of unemployment)
its great that shes honed her receptionist skills but in the end, its mostly just for helping someone else. and the fact that chiba isnt depicted as like being against it is kinda off.. hayamis known for her stretching thin of herself and chiba, being arguably hayamis closest friend, would. at least realize that she has a self-sacrificing tendency (seeing how observant he is yk)
?? apparently she singlehandledly handles every business and sales matters. insane. also,, ig its fitting that hayami chose a fast-paced position for her job but idk man. Idk its still insane to me that hayami is chibas receptionist..
on a lighter note she cut her hair at some point in the future so thats cool
demi hayami forever. shes 100% demi. i also think shes unlabeled, like she doesnt rlly care what she is tbh. others ask her abt it and shes like "idk up to interpretation" (ooc)
its so funny to me. that in korotan c, apparently she showed up to watch asano having a lil date w princess lea? bc it mentioned her name later on helping lea from the "bodyguards" (along w chiba too.. this makes their viewing their classmates from afar in the animated koro q funnier tbh)

i think her interest/reason for joining is mostly that she wanna try it and also bc i think she saw it on tv a few times and got fascinated by the ppl skiing/snowboarding
dunno where the clubs got the budget to apparently Go Fucking Skiing frequently,, or how the club would even operate (in Middle School no less). but i think itd be pretty funny if the club disbanded some time later and hayami joined a dance club instead (which would make more sense)
i think hayami had done ballet before. as a kid. Just a hc but she wanted smth to do rather than. Sitting watching tv bc no ones home
horrible horrible thought but hayami seems semi like those kids whose parents are on the verge of a divorce (projection) 💀
i think one of the reasons why i tend to read hayami as having avpd is. just the fact that she pays attention to 'the class dynamic and harmony and such'? im not 100% sure on the meaning of that sentence but that just reminds me of my experience w avpd and i Have To hc her as having it

It's November 2006, and a 12-year-old is sitting at their family computer. Having tasked themself with filling out a character sheet, a thought comes to their mind, "What if Spongebob was a human teenage girl?" This 12-year-old has just created their silliest girl, unabashedly nerdy and geeky and proud of it. She has that particular flavor of mid-2000s internet lol-randomness whenever she speaks. She is the :P emote personified. She is cringe, and she is free.
Roberta as a character has rather humble origins, having been created for a roleplaying thread in a forum I frequented which from what I remember was essentially just "We are in a diner, do whatever you want." She was a character I RP'd along with two other OCs I made for the thread at the same time, René (she/her; cynic tsundere tomboy) and Dimitri (she/her; shy and kind girly-girl), who were both considered as entrants to this poll. Roberta won out simply because I remember the most about her all these years later. Thinking back on that RP thread, I'm pretty sure Roberta and René had some sort of subconscious romantic tension between them
Description: A lanky teenage girl, slightly taller than average for her age. She has pale skin with freckles, blue eyes, and wears a pair of glasses. Her hair is bright orange with darker orange streaks, straight textured and goes down to her chest, with blunt bangs. Appearance - 5'7", semi muscular, geto posture (😭), fluffy curly hair with dark brown roots dyed blonde, multicolor cat eyes, always has a neutral expression of murder and I swear it's not their fault, they're just sleep deprived 😭 considered pretty attractive but they couldn't care less tbh
Personality- like, half and half. They appear and sound very very calm and neutral (or even intimidating), but their words and actions are always unpredictable. They're stubborn in a way that nothing in the world could budge them- except something ridiculous like a cookie 😭 they're cool and mature, but they're easily pleased in a way that's Childish. Basically they can fit any labels, and how they act just depends on who they're around- so like semi manipulative in the likeable way?? Idk. There for anyone, anytime. They're super strong n tough, the absolute idgaf type, but deep down they care too much. As tired as they seem, they're never without energy (hence the constant multitasking). They really just don't want to be a problem to anyone, but they're like draken or baji in the sense that they're never afraid to instinctively tell you what's on their mind to your face. Basically a tsundere mom friend with a past thatttt we don't talk about😭 they should give themself a break
Hobbies or likes- they never stop listening to music, enjoy hanging out with a lot of people, sweet little snacks, and hide their habits of drawing and writing. They're really just built around self expressionism and trying new things and having fun :) Their favorite thing to do is watch the sky but they never have time to. They may or may not have surprising anger issues they need to fix, but at least they're not getting angry at people? (Totally not something like pokemon games when an eevee runs away or something 😭)

He knows you love watching the sky, so he pulls you to some special secluded place he chose himself for you to watch the sky. He gives you some snacks to eat while doing so. Sometimes you talk and sometimes you just stay in a comfortable silence, thankful you found each other.
In conclusion,
Love the person next to you regardless. No matter how they appear or the issues they have. Nobody is perfect. Everyone has problems.
Try fixing them instead of taking the easy way out. There is no easy way. It's just a form of mindset that leads you to a harder life. Don't be a pussy.

I had my 5683873th insomnia of the yeah so I finally finished reading Sorcery Of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson this night and I LOVED IT !!!
Love the world she builds with the books who are alive and everything, also the story and the characters are so amazing too. It's rare when I like a girl mc tbh, Elisabeth is not the cliché Mary sue imo, not the skinny, brown hair/eyes, small, weak girl etc... she's strong and independent and powerful and funny too ! omg I love her !! and ofc the boys... please Nathaniel and Silas.... i'm on my knees for them.... I love sarcastic and tsundere bisexual boys... I'm weak. (ahem yoongi ahem-)
I also LOVED the dynamic between Elisabeth, Nathaniel and Silas too ! They were so funny sometimes, but also caring with each other in their own way, respectful of each other boundaries. Maybe I think that the relationship between Elisabeth and Nathaniel evolve a little too faster and suddenly ? but that's in my opinion bc I kinda love slow burn....
I'm sad they didn't end up in a poly relationship tho they were clearly all so in love with each other 😔 but that's the slutty addict poly writer/reader that I am who speaks rn....
Anyway highly recommend it ! 16/20 !
I'll definitely buy Mysteries of Thorn Manor in June when it'll be available in french!! I already miss them 🥹

“Ow.” You rubbed your head tenderly as someone opened the door to the limousine that just hit you. Someone stepped out and went to check over your condition.
You assumed it was the driver, however it was a young man around your age. Princely rich boy type, blonde hair, blue eyes, scrunched up nose.
His facial expression turning into scowl as your make eye contact.
“Why were you walking blindly into the street like that?”
You could feel annoyance coursing through you from his words. Is he serious right now?
His driver was the one who hit you on a green walking light. He should be apologizing right now.
You crossed the light on your go, and his driver hit you head on.
“Excuse me? Your driver hit me on my light.” he rolls his eyes as his driver steps out of the car.
He examines your injuries and, seeing that you're fine, he backs up. The young man kneels in front of you and flicks you on the head. You hiss in pain, glaring at him, and he smirks back.
“Let’s go, they’re alright.”
"Hey get back here you stupid, primm acting bitch." Before you could even open the car door, the driver drives off. You let out a frustrated yell, the light turns yellow.
“I can't stand him.”
People stare as you glare ahead with an enraged expression. Unknown to them, you are actually mad at that primm boy not them. Biting your nail, you curse him, thinking about the stupid situation.
“Hey, good morning.”
“Good morning Yuuka.” Your friend gave a small smile lightly bumping shoulders. The rage you felt from the incident slowly evaporates.
“Did you hear, we’re getting a nee transfer srudent?” The people in the halls gossip as ypu pass through.
“I wonder if it will be a girl?”
“No, I hope a boy.” Small arguements broke out into the hallways.
“A transfer? What do you think they’ll be like (nn)?”
Black hair, brown eyes, moderate amount of confidence.. maybe a boring person?
“Really? You really dont meet a lot of exciting people.” she frowns as she takes her seat. Soon enough, more students pile in as the lesson begins.
“Now, before we begin, let's introduce our new student, Shilo.” The boy you met earlier entered the room, rekindling your rage.
“I’m Shilo, its nice to meet you.” The girls in the class let out small squeals as he maneuvered his bands from his face.
Of course he happens to be the transfer student. His expression from earlier changed into a neutral expression.
“You can sit next to Name.”
He walks over to you and takes his seat, not even giving you a second glance. Class continues as you keep glancing at him.
“What?” His rude tone from earlier came out. Red filled your gaze as you glance towards him, still not over what happened this morning.
His facial expression remains neutral as you keep glancing over. Class continues, as the bell rings.
Students got up and made their way out the room to go eat. Some girls crowded around his desk getting to know the new student.
You grab your things making your way outside. Another set of footsteps follow you outside in the courtyard.
"Hey." He approaches with what seems to be his fangirls, clinging onto him. As Shilo fixes his attention on you, the females direct glares in your direction.
“Are you busy right now?”
“What does it look like to you?” Shilo let out a sigh as one of the girls escaped his grasp and ran toward you.
“You can’t talk to Prince Shilo like that.”
‘Great his first day, and he already had a fanclub.’ Five girls surrounded him, like a shield.
You roll your eyes making you way, further down the hallway. You could hear her distant yelling, as you exit outside.
The day continues on as the lesson drones on.
You remain focused on the lessons able to ignore that boy.
As comes to a close, thunder struck the building leaving everything in darkness.
A few students let out small yelps of surprise, some dropping for cover in the middle of the isle. Things clear up as students rushed to make their way home.
Unfortunately, you had no umbrella.
Sighing, you grabbed your book bag and held it over your head as you made your way home. Stopping halfway, you notice an umbrella begin to be held over you.
“What are you doing here.” He sighs holding the umbrella higher, so you could remove the bookbag.
“I noticed you didn’t have an umbrella. Did you not pay attention to the news today?”
You vaguely remember it saying something about a rain shower, not like it was actually going to happen.
“Whatever.” You walk forward re putting the book bag over your head, as you make your way down the street.
He’s caused nothing but trouble, why would you need his help out of all people?
The walk home for the most part was peaceful, except for the drenched bookbag you held as you quickly made your way home.
Getting closer, you notice a group of sketchy people standing near your doorstep. They turn towards you, as you get closer.
“Hey! Move this ain’t your place.” You roll your eyes approaching your door. Before you could pull out the keys, it ripped out your hands. A delinquent hovers it over your head, mocking you.
“Looking for this?” You raise your hand, aa it switches Delinquents.
“Aw, you want it back?” Sighing, you drop your things as you go in for a swing.you hit him clean on, as he stutters backwards.
“Leave.” They pull out their weapons now upset. They approach you quickly as you stand back up.
You dodged their oncoming attack.
“Hey, stop there.” You all turn to see Shilo entering the scene with his bodyguard. He walks calmly over, phone in hand.
“If you keep hurting her, I’ll call the police.”
His words fell on deaf ears as you continued fighting. After a while, you end up winning, as the delinquents were knocked out.
You pat yourself off and open your door, when that boy spoke up. You honestly hoped that he would just leave.
“Are you okay?” He approaches checking over you.
“Why are you following me?”
“It’s not polite to leave pretty girls like yourself, on the streets alone at night.” His driver spoke, approaching you.
“I'm home now, things should be fine.” He shakes his head as the door opens.
“You know, you’re not like most girls that I met, you’re different.” He leans down traping your form in the doorway.
“Different?”
“You don’t like asking me for help, you dislike my presence.”
“For a very good reason, your driver almost killed me this morning!” He rolls his eyes, not taking your words seriously.
“You were literally fine.”
“I had a green light, where you going that you had to run lights?”
“The young master was late for his first day. He had a situation at home, which is why we were rushing.” His driver apologies for the situation at hand.
“I’m terribly sorry. Is there any way that we can make it up to you?”
“Just leave me alone. I don’t need you, I don’t want you, stay out of my way.” She slams the front door in his face.
“You really are just my type.”

Shinji Ikari
Reasons:
- Messy black hair - Whiny - Has a tsundere friend - "Friend" - Wears the most boring fucking clothing
Normcore king. He is just A Guy. He’s the first character I thought of when I saw your intro post.
Most normal kid with depression and abandonment issues ever (and I say this very lovingly). His hair is brown and short with generic bangs, his eyes are brown. Literally just some guy (before the horrors (tm)) His default outfit is black shirt, white dressing shirt, black pants, white shoes (which is also his school uniform)
He just wants to go to high school, have weird feelings about girls, and brood about his relationship with his father. He does not want to get in the fucking robot
He’s a teenager with short black hair and a button up top and uniform pants. Given the iconic status of NGE, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shinji’s design served as a basis for every generic modern mecha/isekai series to come after.

He deserves a win after going through the horrors(tm). I know a lot of people don't like Shinji BECAUSE he's "too generic/depressed to be a main character" but if anything that should make him win. He's my blorbo ok? He was literally just some guy who one day got the fate of the world in his hands out of nowhere and when he reasonably is like "yo I'm like super depressed, this is only making me more mentally ill than I already was" everyone goes "ok, pussy much? Call the wambulance" and I think he deserved better. Also he's gay (or at the very least bisexual), so like diversity win. Let him win. Also if he wins we can all say "Congratulations, Shinji" like in the anime

Roasts of his design aside, Shinji is a genuinely great and fascinating protagonist. His struggles with depression, identity, self worth and hedgehogs dilemma are compelling to watch and, for a then socially anxious teenage me, were at times crushingly relatable. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but he still has a place in my heart.

Lol he is literally normal in a group of weirdos . His only defining traits are an ahoge and green jacket. If you put him in a room of generic anime boys he would Not stand out. He would be lost :(
sorry for submitting a danganronpa character but his whole thing is that he's average. he says at the beginning of the game that even among the average, he's completely average. he's the one character in the game who doesn't have a real talent, having only have gotten into hope's peak academy because of luck, being the ultimate lucky student
Look at him. His talent is luck. Literally. Only normal person at the academy because he's literally just some guy and everyone else is "the best of the best" at something. Spends a lot of the first chapter (and a little of the next ones) being like "I'm literally just some guy"
He is a highschool student who describes himself as average in everything, liking whatever's popular, has messy brown hair and a hoodie, and is the protagonist despite only getting into the situation in-game out of luck. He gets two female love interests, he is the ultimate generic anime-style protagonist. He does become less average in the finale of danganronpa v1 and danganronpa v2, but until then he is the most generic boy one can be, and that generic boy swag is what somehow gets him women.
That's the #1 thing people know about him. His whole thing is that he's just A Guy. He's what you think of when you think of generic anime protagonist. He's got the power of friendship. He's handheld by the smarter/more powerful characters to a point where it's unnecessary but still ends up the leader because he has Hope and Believes in his Friends. He's just a decent guy! Also, my favorite character.
I mean. C'mon. His entire introduction is surrounding the fact that he's so average and boring that even among average people he'd be considered too average, his character development is the usual "With the power of friendship we can overcome anything!!!!", and his personality is that "nice mc with no backbone" type. He even has that generic anime dub voice

He's bisexual and a short king (who is unfazed by the fact that he is short; unlike many characterswho are short he never mentions it once and I'm 98% sure that if someone else brought it up he'd just be like "ok...?"), also a very decent guy
He acts pretty adorable, and I find it hilarious how other characters outshine him in protagonist potential, which makes him an even more fun protagonist in my opinion.
His whole thing is that he's just A Kid in a peer group of what's basically super-kids. He's the epitome of what you think of when you think of generic male anime protagonist: - He's got the power of friendship. - He's handheld by the smarter/more powerful characters to a point where it's unnecessary. - Acts as the polite straight man to the insane personalities around him in an "well... whatever you say then 😅" kinda way. - Obviously in way over his head but still ends up the leader because he has Hope and Believes. - Also because he is the main/POV character and so inexplicably gets to figure out and survive things. - He has a little sister and parents who look just as generic as him.
he is also portrayed to be clumsy and flustered easily. Which feels like a very Generic Anime Teenager trait to have.

2. Academic rivals - Kenji has always been the top student until a new boy named Kaito joins his year. Kaito is just like Kenji, a top marker and enjoys being in the top spot. Kenji sees Kaito as a threat to not just him but also his future because of this, they both relentlessly battle for the top spot.
One day, the test results for english poetry come back and Kaito somehow makes it to the top score despite Kenji’s efforts. Kenji is outraged by this discovery and goes over to confront him in the boy’s locker room, abruptly slamming his hand against the locker and pinning Kaito against the wall. “How did you beat me?” He growled through his teeth, Kaito simply just smirked and shrugged. “Maybe I’m just better than you” Kaito replied, tracing Kenji’s jawline with his delicate touch, causing Kenji to flush red.
3. Polar opposites - Our characters are polar opposites. You are more friendly, thoughtful, caring and not to mention pretty. On the other hand, I’m aloof, stubborn, blunt and pretty much a tsundere.
You’re secretly gay while I’m “straight”. Despite that, you still manage to get all the girls attention which makes me jealous. I’m in the year above with your older sister so we’re not close at all. My best friend
I never liked you from the beginning since you were popular (even in my grade) and you were what you would call “too nice”. That part of you pisses me off to the point I would often take out my anger and frustration on you.
One day, we happen to bump into each other in the hallway and our dynamic completely change.
4. Tutor - Kaito is failing miserably at his classes so the school set him up with a tutor, Kenji. The top student with outstanding grades, always praised by teachers and admired by classmates and students. Kaito has no care for that kind of stuff, if anything it bores him.
Kaito decides to mess with him for his own entertainment and does so even more after seeing how easily flustered he gets. The more flirty Kaito gets towards Kenji, the more heated things get between them until Kenji just snaps.

Personality wise Kenji is cold, smart, stubborn, gets flustered easily and a little harsh whereas Kaito is the complete opposite. Kaito is flirty, enjoys teasing people, popular, kind, sweet and friendly.

Rex x Danny:
Arturo, looks like Rex but with piercing hazel ice blue eyes (very little brown around his pupil), hair down, a tsundere cold attitude but actually loves his family and won’t hesitate to kill. Has a green glow when using powers.
Opal, a girl with heterochromatic eyes (ice blue on the right and brown on the left) and a medium length fluffy hair. Don’t let her sweet pacifistic attitude fool you, even her big bro Arturo gets scared when she’s real pissed. Has a soft blue glow when using powers.
Danny x Zak:
Freckle faced twins who are mischievous prank masters but won’t cross into immoral territory. Smarter than they look.
Domino is a hazel blue eyed girl with plenty of white hair outnumbering the black. Has a light orange glow when using powers.
Bandit is a light brown eyed boy with a small amount of white on his black hair. Has a green glow when using powers.
Rex x Zak:
Malik is a brown haired and brown eyed guy with a bit of white on top his short spiky black hair. A stoic bookworm who wears bark blue and night themed clothing. Acts a bit like his grandpas Doc Saturday and Agent Six. Has a blue glow when using powers.
Rory is a black haired and dark brown eyed guy with messy medium length black hair and a few freckles. An energetic cheery fun-loving person who wears red and sunset themed clothing. Has a light orange glow when using powers.
