i was going to gush on my anniversary art post, but you've handed me a golden opportunity to do it here. you will regret this. :3c 💞
[cw quick mention of a scene where he's called a slur]
oushirou's been my most beloved, specialest, best boy since my first year in college. i was working my way through the games, and i saw his profile in some artbook scans, and i went... who the FUCK is this guy??? KAJSNKDJN. i hated his design so much; it didn't fit with the rest of the series's designs.
but he immediately won me over as a side character in the pc game, and then i was Doomed the second i booted up to play the PSP port with the added oushirou route (our 13yr anniversary is the day i started posting about playing his route lol). i became The Oushirou Guy™ in the eng fandom from that point on ;; and, of course, now i'm like "i need MORE characters who look like this guy, RIGHT NEOW" kjsnfkjn.
and then a year later -- 12 years ago tomorrow -- the last game released AND, FINALLY, he had his own karedanna cd! a fandom friend sent a rip to myself and my also-oushirou-lover friend, as we were waiting for ours to ship... and he proposes in it. my friend and i both made this day the wedding anniversary in commemoration. i even have some ancient joke art i made on the release day itself LMAO
i love him so much more than i think i let on; ren's my main right now, so that's what people know me for, but oushirou really is The Blueprint for me.
he's so self-driven. he could have lived a cushy, comfortable life following the family trade as a western fortune teller, but he would rather throw that -- and an unealthy relationship with his family -- away so he could follow his dreams of being a photographer and journalist.
and he's loyal. after his life is saved by another student (kazuki), and he realizes kazuki will be held back due to spending too many days recovering from the injuries he incurred, he makes sure he's also held back a year so he can play as kazuki's right-hand-man during the remainder of their time at seigetsu academy.
also like... ngl, him being a scorpio is like 👀 he's a freak like me LMAOOOO we can be like "every zodiac girlie hates our pussiessss" together. 💖
oh. and then of course he's the Ambiguously Queer Character of the series. he's a little fruity w it in general, he loves crossdressing, he's flirty with kazuki, homare, and shiki, he's stated outright that his love for kazuki and tsukiko are equal and he can't decide between them, and his fashion sense is just a little cherry on top ksjdnfk.
ugh. honeybee's just itching to call him a slur i s2g.... wait omg wait they actually had some one-off characters call him a slur in his first route KJASNDKDJNSDFKJN WAIT???????? I JUST REMEMBERED??????? it was one of the first scenes i translated from his route i'm lksnfkns oh my fucking god. and everything since then has been like. doubling down without actually calling him anything. crying omg ksjdnfkjns.
ANYWAY. just a year ago, he was the character everybody associated me with, only beaten out once ren appeared. even my art username is based on him (zerofoursix -> 0-4-6 -> o-shi-ro -> oushirou). he's pulled me through so many things, from shitty college experiences to my health issues... to even being part of the reason why i picked art back up after i took a 5-6yr hiatus due to art school burnout. ;;
i love him so so much, forever and ever, my beloved hentai sentai red*, my adhd king, my most skilled f/o by a LONG shot**, my scorpio twin, my misunderstood weirdo... he's Everything to me 😭💗
* think i've posted about it once before, but it's a running joke that he's a sentai hero who regularly saves tsukiko from creeps in his AW route ;;
** photographer, journalist, multilingual, fashion-forward, western fortune teller, super emotionally intelligent... i could go on. the guy hides SO MUCH of his power level around others.

KNY OC | Passion & Song
Yeah I got some new OCs to post about. Expect spam of them soon.
Imani Aiyama (Left) is the first Passion Hashira. Her breath is Passion Breathing, a combination of Love and Flame Breathing. She lived peacefully in the mountains with her family until they were attacked by demons. Her family survived but desperately needed to relocate for safety. Imani joined the Demon Slayer Corps to track down the demon who attacked her and her parents.
Imani is shipped with Gyomei and their ship name is Gyomani.
Tsukiko Rengoku (nee Utano) (Right) is the second Song Hashira after her father. For years she was a kunoichi until a demon killed one of her teammates. Since then, she's joined the corps to be able to take down that demon. While there, she met and fell in love with Kyojuro Rengoku and eventually had a daughter with him.
Her and Rengoku's ship name is Tsujuro or Tsugoku.

We’ll Have to Muddle Through Somehow, the Ragnor&Tessa&Raphael fic about what happened to Thule!Ragnor. No happy endings allowed in Thule

Probably Like a Storybook Story, the Princess Bride AU. It ends with a solution to the mortal/immortal ship angst

Only once from a known troll. I think most of what I write is too niche for the majority of the fandom to have a strong enough opinion on that would make them upset enough to write hate comments

I still write some, but I’m not comfortable posting it anymore. Most of what I write is character exploration through smut or hurt/comfort. I actually ended up working out some real headcanons for Ragnor and Hypatia through the nonsense I was writing a couple of months ago that I might be able to edit into something postable eventually.

I’ve never written one, but a friend and I used to joke about a warlock squad/Gundam crossover

We Share the Weary Load, which was missing moments from QoAaD. There were a few more I wanted to write, but I just ran out of steam and never picked them back up

Filling in the holes canon leaves for more minor characters and relationships/friendships that happen mostly off-page, coming up with rules for how magic works, and swinging from humor into angst with no warning

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I use a word or two sometimes, but not whole sentences of dialogue. Japanese is the only second language I speak well enough to do it with, but I think throwing whole sentences of Japanese into a fic would just be jarring and confusing

PLEASE I ask that people be patient with me in character and ooc. I am always happy to talk, and plot with people, but I can be pretty slow with that too. Either because I forget, or just don't have the energy to do so.

Twisted Wonderland Routes
So, I’m really indecisive about who Tsukiko’s love interest should be so I came up with this in order to solve my problem
Introducing. . .
Character Routes!
Yes, routes like in dating sim games. But first I want to say, this whole route system isn’t supposed to be the focus of Tsukiko’s story. The actual game story comes first and the romance aspect is more of a background thing, and only changes some aspects of the main storyline
General Route & Routes
Before the routes start, there’s the general route. This is the Prologue and it ends before Book 5 starts
So what moment triggers the story to deviate into routes?
Well, after Jack rejects Tsukiko (Seen in this post) Tsukiko goes to someone to talk out their problems. The person they go to talk to is typically the same as the route they’re on but there are exceptions:
For Jack’s route, Tsukiko talks to the other First Years
For Idia’s route, Tsukiko talks to Ortho
I also want to add that not all routes are romantic! There are actually a few platonic routes
Ortho’s route is about Tsukiko becoming like another older sibling to him
Lilia’s route is about Tsukiko finding a mentor/father figure that shows them that actually split their attention between his kids
And then there’s the non-character specific route, which I like to call the NRC Route
This route focuses on building friendships with not only the other students, but the staff as well. In this route, after Tsukiko gets rejected, they talk to the staff and Grim who notice that they’ve been feeling down and doing bad in their classes. The staff then help Tsukiko build better friendships and connections while helping them get over their heartbreak
Endings
All routes have to come to an end. But there are 2 types of endings. Dramatic and Romantic
All endings start the same. Tsukiko finds a way home and the day before they’re set to leave, they talk to the person whose route they’re on. And then the day they’re supposed to leave, everyone gathers around to say their goodbyes
The Dramatic End happens if Tsukiko decides to go back to their home. The Romantic happens if Tsukiko decides last minute to not go home and instead, chooses to stay in Twisted Wonderland (Also a note, in platonic routes, Romantic Ending turns into Friendship Ending)
The routes also have after endings!
In the Dramatic After Ending, Tsukiko is at their home in their home world. They hear the voice of the person whose route they’re on calling out to them. They follow their voice when suddenly they once again see the horse-drawn carriage that got them to Twisted Wonderland the first time. They close their eyes and when they open them again, they’re back at NRC
In the Romantic/Friendship After Ending, with the help of the person whose route they’re on plus their friends, Tsukiko finds a way to jump between worlds
The after endings take place more than a few months after the ending
This is all the information I have on the routes concept so far! This may be updated later on while more story is released, but for now, this is it

What's your favorite thing this character has said?
Man, a lot actually lol I do love his mentality in the original game (I found myself agreeing (derogative) with some of his speech but it was mostly in a "man you are so wrong but this is so interesting character depth") I like his negative view on his job and reality too
But my favorite quote of him comes in persona 4 Ultimax actually like it stuck with me till now
(spoilers sorry) when he tells Sho that hes nothing more than a kid throwing a tantrum, I love it because it shows how much he took the investigation team's lectures at heart
And I do love his last speech to Sho about living a easy/happy life (if I remember correctly he says something along those lines but feel free to correct me) I just love the development!

Hikaru is meant to be a post game oc, so I don't think she actually influences the story a lot 🤔but for sure his presence influences both Dojima and Nanako, as she encourages Dojima and helps him move on, while Dojima does the same for Hikaru in return
But I do wonder how it would be like if Hikaru was present in the main story tbh, i feel like he would probably in some way be talked about and then be in the midnight channel lol this kinda makes me want to elaborate an AU!
