Biggest folley of Motley and why it got so difficult for me to write was because I kept getting so caught up on trying to represent every aspect of their stories all at once anytime there were on screen, when really I need to remember that they are in fact Just Little Guys

#aaah. the difficulty of writing ocs youve had since middle school #to me they are at the end of their story. but to you ..... they are just random characters by a stranger on tha internet #i need to break them down to their core essentials again ..... work backwards #first few chapters are gonna get some minor edits to the art and dialogue #but i have a clearer view of what the next few chapters will be #glad i paused for a few weeks to work on far out (which is also looking super good. i love jane and galactica. theyre so funny)#its nice to make new characters fron scratch #the first few motley chapters are gonna get punched up and future ones will be overall funnier #kept trying to make it serious but it needs to be funny. otherwise this shit is gonna get depressing real quick lol

always wanted to arrange my artworks in a gradient and since I started drawing again over a year ago, I was finally able to put this together 🫶

#did an edit like that for an old fandom with official manga art and it’s kind of breathtaking that I actually managed to make a rainbow #edit with my own art?!? everything is 2023 art except the fall skk artwork but it matched yellowish green well enough lol #you can tell which kinds of color palettes I prefer but I really want to use more warm color palettes & maybe try more desaturated palettes #some other goals: drawing more women and environment focused artworks #(but who knows how much time I’ll have this year)#bsd #bsd fanart #my art #I did start a few non-bsd related artworks but didn’t have enough patience to finish them #that’s why it’s mainly skk too… the obsession hits different… I have other non-skk pieces I like too but the color palettes were hard to #fit into this edit…#my only non bsd related artworks where some concept pieces for uni #so strange to see the random mix of styles for this past year but also nice to see little consistencies #long post

Let me tell y’all something.. Zac Oyama maybe play characters with low intelligence scores, but he is SO good at pulling threads together and remembering information about the lore and making connections and figuring things out

Gorgug especially has been really great at making connections and asking the right questions. (That’s why the boy increased his intelligence score in sophomore year)

I’m wondering what the implication of the energy attacking Cassandra being the same thing as what Lydia is keeping in her chest? Do we actually know what it was Lydia was fighting with her adventuring party? Will we find out more? Does Lydia use her own rage to keep it subdued or is the energy created by rage (eg Cassandra’s anger at Kristen)?

But I don't think it's appropriate for an updates account #I recently turned off notifications for QsmpEN and I'm considering muting them because half the updates just aren't helpful to me #I want to be able to speed read through the update thread I don't want to spend an additional 30 seconds trying to decipher who's who #I don't like posting complaints so I tried to make it a funny complaint #because I do think feedback is good! And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way #but at the same time: these update writers ARE volunteers #(As a side note -- I personally think anyone running a large social media account should be paid)#(I did that for a few years and it was hell. #BG3 Musing #BG3 Fanmix #Halsin BG3 #Halsin #Halsin Posting #my fanmix #i give up this is about as done as it will ever be - i've been talking about this enough i need to get it away from me #i could have made at least one or two other playlists with the number of songs i cut from this #there were some things that hurt me to cut but i figured others had them in their playlists so they're out there #(the impossible dream you will always be famous i am so sorry :(()#i had three goals with this 1. make it more of a timeline in that it follows a narrative order (which hopefully is easy enough to follow)#(it makes sense to me about as much as it is ever going to lol)#2. try to avoid using songs that other individuals have used in their playlists (with a handful of exceptions - i highly encourage you also #take a listen to the others around! lots of good stuff and i figured if you were missing it from this one you can find another with it)#(and if i did use one the context might be different #'closer here is being used in a different way than i usually see it - it's putting more emphasis on the 'you can have my isolation' bit use #in context of the matron and patron for example)#and 3. focus as much as possible on non-romance path elements of halsin's character - i.e. again that's a topic that is highly explored #in other fanmixes to great success - this one is about the childhood he references and the adventures and the capture in the underdark #and the shadow curse and the burying of people he loved and the uptaking of the archdruid position and the healing he did #and possibly did not do #and the radicalization he comes into when his goals are met and he's faced with injustices #and the struggle he has of redefining himself and figuring out who he is after all of it #hopefully the 'eras' are clearly defined but hey it's all gravy from here #honestly if there is one song to listen to that encapsulates halsin for me it's tapestry - highly recommend that #anyway i am blabbing - let the lyrics and such talk for themselves jemi please #but if fanmixes aren't your speed have a kinda nice edit i guess #edit: now with bonus song i just had to add after shamefully forgetting it
