The entity was not wrong in describing this harrowing experience as ‘The pain of a thousand swords.’

He felt like he was dying, tears streaming from his face as scales continued to consume his human flesh. No one could hear him bellow in agony as he transformed into a monstrosity.

And when all was said and done, all he could do was lay there in his torn cloak, curled up and trembling like a new-born fawn.

While he still loathes the day that he was permanently altered from a human to some strange spider-demon-human hybrid, there have been a select few upsides to this change. The biggest one being that Syntax’s eyesight- which he needed prescription glasses for prior to his transformation- has sharpened incredibly, beyond that of what any normal human should possess.

However, he still mostly prefers using his six-eyed goggles, because the general input from two eyes as opposed to six no longer feels correct- and the goggles allow him to split up his vision into six different facets, which feels far more ‘natural’.

Plus, the goggles have several different modes to cycle through, so that’s a lovely bonus.

His speed, durability, and strength were all heavily increased after his transformation- to the point that (in a surprise fight) he can easily take on MK and have a 50/50 chance of survival/victory. However, if one were to get into a long battle with him, or just had a year or so of combat training... Syntax would lose.

Besides, he prefers to rely on his strategies as opposed to barreling head-first into a fight, anyway. Might as well not enter the battlefield unless it’s already tilted in his favor, right?
