Controversial take, but the crush plotline being introduced at this time in this way makes sense and helps move the plot forward. (The problems with this plotline are more that it overstays its welcome and takes up too much of Ochako's screen time)
It's logical that Aoyama would pick up on Ochako's crush because he was keeping an eye on Izuku. He doesn't know how Izuku is involved in the All for One/One for All conflict, but because one wrong move could get himself and his family killed, he has to pay attention to Izuku.
And it makes sense Aoyama would bring up the crush here; he is trying to sabotage Ochako's exam and he needs a distraction. Pointing out her high school crush out of the blue is an effective way to accomplish that.
Beyond that, this crush plotline needed to be in play before Toga - Ochako's narrative foil - was introduced.
Anyway, regardless of your thoughts of Izuocha, for a Shounen Jump romantic subplot, it's pretty intertwined with the main storyline.

Uraraka Ochako was admittedly jealous of you when you first met. You had an incredibly powerful quirk, supreme intelligence, a seeming gift for combat, and a cheery personality. When she found herself developing feelings for Midoriya Izuku, she was jealous of your close friendship with the boy. Izuku seemed obsessed with showing you how great of a hero he'll become.
She doesn't how you found out about her feelings, but you did. Upon your discovery, you approached her, and to her surprise, asked whether she'll accept your help to get Izuku to like her back. With a bright smile and somewhat teasing eyes, you stuck your hand out to her and asked her to be your friend.
Slowly, she took your hand and agreed. That was the best and worst mistake of her life. The more time you spent together, the more her jealousy weakened. Love started to grow in her chest as she cherished the moments she shared with you. You became her best friend, her soulmate, her sister.
That's why it absolutely shattered her when she noticed the letter neatly placed on her desk. A sense of dread filled her as she approached her desk. With a heavy chest, she opened the letter and her heart broke as she read each word.
《I loved every moment we laughed together. It made me feel like a normal girl that wasn't living a lie. Ochako, please take care of Izuku. Your love for him is pure and limitless that it'll heal the damage I'll cause to him.》
Ochako couldn't read the remaining paragraphs as she rushed out of her dorm and towards Izuku's. Frantically knocking, she twisted the doorknob and ran towards Izuku's hunched-over figure. Placing her hands on his shoulders, she begged him to look at her.
She needed him to look at her. Izuku might be the last thing connecting her to you. As Izuku's eyes met hers, tears once again began to fill her eyes. Maybe, just maybe, she wasn't in love with Izuku. Maybe her heart had started to belong to you.

Looking back at Horikoshi interviews (mha 394 spoilers) - Hawks, Bakugou, Togachako
Hawks
Looking back at Horikoshi's interviews... it is clear now that the "beacon of hope" moment for Ochako was her speech (that interview where hope is mentioned comes from Dark Deku chapters, around that time)... but what was Hawks?
This was the interview from April 2021 (at the time of Dark Deku):
Monoma, Shoji, Shinsou and Ochako as hope are done, so we are missing Sero... but what was Hawks' moment of hope? I do not remember him doing anything in particular if not helping Endeavor during the fight against AFO?
Bakugou
The other interview I wanted to look at comes from Jump Festa 2022 which was in December 2021. December 2021 was during the Aoyama traitor chapters:
His apology was already done, so it is clear that something EVEN bigger will come. So Bakugou fans should not be worried!
Togachako
In the same interview we also have this:
I wonder what this scene is, but after chapter 394 I think it might be the scene of Ochako and Toga falling from the sky. It is identical as the one from Spirited Away:

This is the exhibition where we have Toga with that monstruous figure (which was used in chapter 394) and that Izuo/cha art of Deku and Ochako falling from the sky:
As said by Horikoshi this art is directly inspired by Spirited Away, just like the current Togachako chapter (which almost is the same as in the movie, scene by scene).
I wonder if after drawing this exhibition piece (which was presented with a comment saying "this is their relationship if I were to develop them")... he decided to co-opt it for Togachako. Maybe he felt like the relationship between Deku and Uraraka could not progress in time for him to represent his scene, so he decided to instead focus on Toga and Ochako?

I do love send my thoughts here. And I was thinking about the trope the fandom loves to use in fics. "Izu is kidnaped" which I guess could work
But back at the day when Izu solo arc begins...many people were throwing jokes (if it wasnt "hahaha Inko or Ochako will beat him up" then it was "he is going to be kidnapee) and the butt of the joke is Izu needing be saved by friends....
But...BK was kidnaped and people use this to shit on Ayoama...
If Izu kidnap happened...then yeah it would serve to "look at BK saving Izu. He cares" or another joke.
What is my point here? I just dont get the hype for "Izu is kidnaped"?

Thank you :) I like answering your asks and hearing your thoughts too.
I think the hype for this trope in fanfics is so that the characters have an opportunity to show how much they (mainly class 1A and Dadzawa) care for Izuku and what lengths they would go to to get him back. It's largely a wish fulfillment story thread relating to the wish to see Class 1A as a family.
However, saying that, it is a very weird juxtaposition to see how fans leapt to dunk on Izuku or make jokes during his expense during the solo arc. Saying things like,
"I bet Todoroki is going to be so mad Izuku didn't confide in him about OFA then ran away. Right when Todoroki needs him after finding out about Dabi too. What a fake friend. 💔."
"I hope Bakugou tells Izuku off and beats some sense into him - how could you leave your soulmate behind, Deku? 🧡💚"
"I bet Uraraka is going to be so angry at Izuku for leaving her. I hope she yells at him and drags him home to UA for a shower! Stinky boy!"
"I hope we see Inko hit Izuku with her slipper for this! Haha."
None of this is funny to me. Izuku essentially was told flat out by AFO that he is a target of his. Izuku left his friends, his mother and his dream school because he felt they would be in danger by association with him. This decision hurt him immensely to take yet most of the fans fail to see this. Class 1A themselves fail to see this and claim mostly that he is looking down on them, while also allowing Bkg (someone openly hostile to Izuku) to lead them in a fight against him instead of approaching the situation empathetically like a friend would. Ok Hori, who is looking down on who here?
Class 1A, like the fans in their majority, only think of what they as Class 1A want in relation from Izuku, so they beat him down (literally and figuratively) -Bakugou gives a shit apology all about himself then Izuku collapses from exhaustion. And they drag Izuku back to UA.
Contrast with Bakugou's kidnapping - no one in the narrative and few fans outside of it recognise Bakugou's own fault in the situation. They use it to shit on Aoyama instead when;
Aoyama still, regardless of being the traitor, gave Izuku Shoji and Todoroki an opening to save Tokoyami and Bakugou from the LOV.
Bakugou refusing to leave the fight/retreat back to base even when named as a target of the LOV, only aided the LOV's kidnapping of him. Him retreating would have made the LOV's job much harder to kidnap him - if not outright prevented it in the first place.
The LOVs interest (mainly Shigaraki's) was only peaked due to Bakugou acting like a rabid Dog and UA being dumb enough to chain Bakugou up and present him to the press instead of fiegning illness for Bakugou or something.
TLDR- the fandom hype for the trope of "Izuku is kidnapped" is wish fulfilment for Class 1A as a family trope, Dadzawa trope (mostly) and some BkDk fans (those who like to see Bkg as Izuku's knight in shining armor in fics.)
How Bkg and Izuku are treated in their absences from UA (Izuku's solo arc and Bkgs kidnapping) contrasted by both the fandom and the narrative is gross.
Bakugou plays more (indirect) fault in how his kidnapping occurred and it is wrong to use this moment as a way to shit on Aoyama.
Izuku plays less fault in what had occurred and always had good intentions about leaving UA. Class 1A failed to show empathy to him in this situation and the fandom focused on everyone else's possible feelings about the situation rather than Izuku's. Which is sad especially as Izuku is meant to be the MC.
But I can't entirely blame them either... How long has it actually been since we have seen the story give Izuku's feelings any insight?

"Hey, Uraraka." Deku said, grabbing her attention away from her homework.
"Yeah?" Ochako asked, swiveling her spinny chair once in a full rotation before stopping to see Deku. "What's-"
Deku and Ojiro were wearing matching shirts.
"-that," Ochako finished lamely. She knew full well what it was, and she knew Deku knew that she knew. Which made Deku's new grin unbearable.
"Oh, see," Deku began, "Ojiro-kun said that he really likes my shirts and thought they were funny, which, thank you, they've always been funny, and that he wanted to get some of his own, so we custom ordered them online and they just arrived!" Deku said in one breath. "What do you think?" He asked proudly, thumbing the "swimsuit" label on his t-shirt.
"I personally like it." Ojiro continued, the traitor that he was in his "v-neck" t-shirt (it didn't even HAVE a v-neck, and somehow that was a worse crime than Ojiro thinking that this was the height of comedy). "I've always thought this sort of thing was fun."
"We're gonna show the others!" Deku explained, "And if you want, we got you one as well!"
Grinning, Ojiro unfurled a shirt that said "plate armor" on it.
Ochako wouldn't be caught dead wearing that, so she did her only escape plan: climb out her window, feint floating to the roof, then make her way to Yaoyorozu's room for some respite.
However, when she got there, she learned a horrible truth. "Yaoyorozu..." Ochako gasped in horror.
"I am terribly sorry," Yaoyorozu flushed in her "lab coat" shirt, "It felt mean to not go along with something they were clearly excited for."

I don’t think 363 is gonna be about bkdk. I think that we’re going to THINK Katsuki is dead for a few chapters, and in those chapters it won’t even be shigafo’s fight.
It’s gonna be togachako.
I honest to god believe bkdk is gonna be canon atp, and with that mindset there needs to be one thing that happens: izuocha is shut down for good.
348 and 342 were the build up chapters for this fucking moment, and in order for izuocha to be shut down for GOOD uraraka needs to talk to toga about her real feelings. Because we haven’t had a glimpse into her head about deku in almost a hundred chapters. Horikoshi is holding secrets about both Izuku and uraraka. Two characters who we frequently saw into their mindsets, especially about the other person! But that’s just.. stopped.
And there one final piece to this puzzle that will tell us definitively what izuocha will be like: urarakas feelings. I think that she will tell toga about her getting over Izuku, about her not realizing what togas confession meant, and 363 and onwards will be about toga and ochako sorting through their own feelings, toga being saved and getting help, and toga doing some sort of selfless act to reflect urarakas selfish act. Ochako is being selfish when she wants to save toga, and that’s a good thing. Toga will be selfless, maybe that will entail helping the heroes in some way, idk, but either way: it’s just getting good. 
Btw, Katsuki most likely isn’t dead y’all. It’s another fake out. Like 342/348, or the traitor, or the million other things that have happened recently that were actually trolls. I mean there’s a possibility it isn’t but it doesn’t make sense narratively, nor in canon since he literally produces his own heart medication AND they live in a quirk world. Ofa could happen to save him or smth. There’s just a million and one ways where Katsuki will survive.

Hello. I am the anonymous author of 'dark star - an izch anthology,' lowercase intentional.
I am an adult. You may refer to me by they/them pronouns. This blog will contain unmarked spoilers for BNHA. I am open to questions in my ask box regarding my writing. Please do not ask me questions about myself, although I know many people reading this blog will be aware of who I am already, and that's okay.
I began writing this series in May of 2022, with a broader writing hiatus from August 2022 to now. But as I plan to return to it and fill out what remains of the series - and there's a lot! - I wanted to create this side blog for discussion and archival purposes.
Please understand that under this cut, there will be discussion of dark, triggering, and NSFW content.
'dark star' is an attempt by me to write content for my favorite ship that wouldn't otherwise exist.
'IzuOcha,' or 'izch,' often referred to as 'dkch,' 'dekucha,' or 'dekutea' in the Japanese fandom, is a ship from Boku no Hero Academia, a popular Japanese Shounen manga. It is between the main character, Izuku Midoriya, and his close friend and primary canon love interest, Ochako Uraraka. I am describing this in fairly neutral terms because both the subject of this blog, and the works I'll be writing about them, are moderately controversial in fandom.
Fandom, broadly, does not like izch. This is mostly for all the normal reasons that fandom doesn't like 'canon' M/F ships, and that's fine. But given that BNHA has one of the most popular fandoms in history, and izch is my favorite ship, I try to create the content I want to see for it, knowing full well that others won't if I don't.
That brings us to 'dark star.' I began writing it largely as a therapeutic exercise for myself, though it's also just interesting and challenging to do. The first fic in the series, 'bound,' began life as a dark fic centered on a different concept, before becoming a one-shot, before then becoming a multichaptered fic centered on izch. I was originally going to write more fics in the same AU (which is about a hypothetical Traitor Ochako Uraraka as a fanon conceit), until I decided I wasn't invested enough in that.
So it became an anthology series about my favorite ship, instead. izch, as written in canon, is not really a particularly 'problematic' ship. It concerns two high school students who have a fairly typical relationship, albeit one that exists against the backdrop of Shounen superhero action and drama. 'dark star,' by contrast, is pretty grim, often touching on subjects of age gaps, non-consensual sexual acts, where the line between non-consent and consent blurs, unequal power dynamics, the interplay of sex and violence, unconventional gender and sexuality roles, and how two people who are otherwise fairly 'typical' deal with being put in these scenarios.
I won't claim that it's meant to be 'high art.' It contains graphic sexual content, as well as graphic violence, that is as much meant to be thematic as it is entertaining. I like my ship, and I think they deserve to be a little dark and sexy, as a treat. Popular fanon doesn't blink at stories like this for typical fanon ships, and I'd like for them to exist for izch as well.
I am not very interested in pro-/anti-ship discussions. I am also not very interested in ship or character bashing debate. Some characters or ships may be portrayed negatively in my work, and I'm happy to explain why that is, but this is not debate club, and I'm not here to change your mind, or for you to change mine.
This blog carries a blanket content and trigger warning for character death, graphic depictions of violence, sexual assault, unequal power dynamics, large age gaps and abuse of power in relationships with minors, blood and gore, and abusive relationships. I will try to include more specific warnings as I go.
Broadly speaking, you can expect izch to get happy endings out of most of these fics. If your fave is someone else, read with caution.

Hammy! I've got End of an Era brainrot! And I always love an identity reveal, so imagine class 1-A gets hit with a "reveal your true self/inner self/how you view yourself" quirk and 1-A gets to see 19 year old with all his scars Izuku for a bit. ;^; - Wren
End of an Era will always be one of my favourites tbh, I love a good time travel fix-it, I'm shocked I don't have more of them.
A reveal your true self quirk would be fun, I imagine he takes the hit for Aoyama because he's fully aware he's a non-consenting traitor and doesn't want the poor boy to be outed before the class bonds strongly enough that they wouldn't toss him to the curb.

Ochako wanted to cry. She also wanted to scream, but she was putting all of that to the back of her mind as she tore through the panicked crowd, looking for her classmates. Deku had jumped in front of the misfired quirk, self sacrificial to a fault, and Aoyama's genuine scream had been bone chilling. She couldn't let herself imagine what had happened. Act first, think later. Just like Deku.
She caught sight or Aoyama's shock of blond hair first, a taller man she didn't recognise holding his hand gently as the boy babbled in panicked french.
"Aoyama, it's ok. I'm ok, see? It's still just me, I just look a little different." Ochako didn't understand a lick of french, but Aoyama seemed to be manically apologising. It was scary to see someone as confident as him reduced to panicked babbling.
"Aoyama!" She called out, reaching her classmate and the mystery man. "Have you seen Deku?" She was so focused on him that she didn't realise the man was turning to address her.
"Uraraka, it's me."
Ochako turned to give the man piece of her mind, that just because he'd seen the sports festival didn't give him the right to address her so informally, but anything like that fled her mind when she also looked at him.
He wasn't an adult, to start. An older teen, sure, but his cheeks were still round with baby fat even when the rest of him was leanly muscled. The freckles where the first thing that caught her eye. Deku's freckles. Longer, shaggier green hair, but that was Deku's smile too.
Any thought processes stopped dead when she saw his scars. His hands were all but gnarled, poorly set bones with arthritic joints, webbed with deep purple ropey scars. His clothes were dark, tattered and carefully mended, camouflage pants and scuffed combat boots with faded stains. The worst was the scar on his face. Almost an inch wide and clearly made with something sharp, it ran from his adam's apple (Deku had barely had one last time they'd spoken, but now he was grown and god what had happened to him -) to just under his right eye. He'd clearly been lucky not to lose it.
"Midoriya -" Ochako jumped. Iida had caught up with her, the rest of her class not far behind. All of them looked horrified. Deku looked sheepish.
"Ah - I'm - Lets, lets get out of here, huh? And let's go find Aizawa-Sensei, he'll want us all back at UA." Deku's smile was just as kind as before, in fact it seemed to sit better on this face than his younger one. Ochako really just wanted to cry - there was no way that wasn't Deku, but -

So I'm writing a longform MHA fic if anyone wants to check it out!
Ochako comes to UA with a plan. Get in, get certified, get out. Pick up the tools of the trade but don’t draw attention to herself. Be friendly but don’t get attached. She’s got a job to do.
Midoriya Izuku blows a hole through that plan the moment she meets him.
Disillusioned with Hero Society, Ochako makes a deal with the devil: Spy on the greatest Hero Academy in Japan to secure her family's future. At UA, Ochako expects the next generation of Pro-Heroes to be assholes well on their way to corruption. But it turns out her classmates... aren't that. Midoriya Izuku least of all.

'It was not suppose to go this way' he thinks as his hands tremble. Midoriya Izuku's eyes are wide as he rereads your letter. He reads and reads again until the letters start to blur. He wants to cry, but his eyes are already dry. He's shed too many tears that it seems like he doesn't have any more.
Why didn't he notice? Wasn't he your best friend? How had he not known that his best friend was the U.A. traitor?
《None of this is your fault, Izuku. This was my destiny from the moment I was born. This was our destiny from the moment we met.》
He's a hero, someone blessed with One For All. He's meant to save people! So, why is it that he couldn't save you? Why couldn't he prevent the heartache that he was currently experiencing?
Izuku's shoulders started to shake again as his legs finally give out from under him. His knees clash with the floor of his dorm and your letter falls from his hands. The room suddenly seems like it's closing in as his hands come up to grip his hair.
"Deku-kun!" Uraraka Ochako's voice calls out to him as her hands grip his shoulders. Her face comes into view, and he sees her cheeks are slightly flushed. Her kind, brown eyes meet his, and he notices they're red.
There's a rustling coming from side and his eyes dart to his right shoulder. There, crushed between his shoulder and Ochako's hand, is a piece of paper. He doesn't have to ask if it's from you because your handwriting is clear.
He wants to read the paper. Izuku hopes that Ochako's letter gives him more answers than his own. The answers to his questions– an explanation for your betrayal.

Summary:
