do you prefer doing traditional or digital art more and why? sending you hugs

I definitely have a favouritism for digital, as I'm very accustomed to the back button, and appreciate being able to flip my canvas' as well as being able to manipulate every part of my work with ease that I just don't get from traditional work.

Plus having access to every colour at one click, and can try different overlays and backgrounds without having to commit to any of them is nice to my brain. Traditional is fine, but if I have a choice I will choose digital any day

Main inspirations were: cherubim, prehistoric or paleo animals, sunsets, and art nouveau

#talks #went out in full trad today and so many ppl were sweet #some weren’t but the majority was soo nice 🥺#a little blonde girl kept staring at me and trying to show me to her brother (no older than ten) and he eventually came up to me #and said ‘my sister thinks you look cool’ and the little girl was behind him just staring i waved and smiled she was soooo cuteee #like sometimes that reassurance is so nice fr esp when i do all the crazy makeup which i did this time so idk i’m :’) rn

i like remembering that white people live in a completely different reality sometimes. keeps me grounded keeps me sober

#rambles #i esp love seeing posts about hyperspecific markers of childhood abuse bc... while i would never fully endorse trad asian parenting #i have always thought it fascinating how eagerly white children will lay claim to abuse for everyone (not just themselves)#when something in the great furnace of childhood was not fired to the exact OSHA standards of euroamerican pedagogy #consider: some of us were raised with different standards and priorities that speak little to the emotional bonds we might have w/ parents #once again i'm not vouching for 100% of my upbringing i'm sure it fucked me up & i'm always chewing on it like a cud #but white people are Crazy sometimes. i just need to say it.

i feel like this comm im working on is like. teaching me a lot more than i expected it to

#like things when it comes to process etc etc #might need to talk to trad painters and ppl with workflows similar to mine #to ask abt how they handle working with someone esp if they typically #dont use lines to start off?#however i also kinda think that its just something to do with me not really being used to rendering more than a portrait #or a landscape #so maybe all i need to do is do it more often and see where it goes #this is also great for making me brave abt this over comm thats been intimidating me bc its much bigger in scope shsjaja lord

#personal #idk its just very annoying as a femme to see the only gnc behavior of femmes being celebrated being the hyperfeminine kind #and its a very specific kind of hyperfemininity that is very 50s housewife core cottage core trad woman dresses and skirts ONLY vibe #and those are fun things to wear and dress up as #but seeing white femmes esp equate being femme to wearing dresses adn skirts while simultaneously preaching abt how femme isnt an aesthetic #like its clear that for a lot of u the only femininity thats ok is still extensions on traditional femininity

In my opinion, I produce 1 piece of good art per year and then I'm spent. Hopefully this year I'll be able to produce 2 good pieces lol

The early 19th century sure was something for our boys (gn). They were taking things at a FAST pace. (If, of course, you’re immortal and need to layer everything under 6 layers of deniability).

Whatever you do, don’t think about how in 1793 Crowley rescued Aziraphale and then they got lunch, in 1800 he brought chocolates to the bookshop then saved Aziraphale from a heavenly promotion, then in 1827 they went on a date to a cemetery in Edinburgh(prime date spot at the time esp for non-trad couples) and Crowley seemed to be having the time of his life.

Then especially don’t think about Crowley getting lightning-sanded down to Hell and showing up 35 years later in a much grumpier mood and with a request for Holy Water as “insurance”.

And don’t think about the context of their last interaction being attempted suicide by poison drink after a partner was lost… no wonder Aziraphale didn’t take the request well and they fought. No wonder Crowley was offended by fraternizing - they’d been way beyond that. Nope, don’t think about any of that.
