IVE ONLY SEEN ONE PERSON POINT THIS OUT BUT MK TRIES TO PUNCH MACAQUE DISGUISED AS WUKONG BEFORE HE EVEN REALIZES ITS WUKONG. I CAN FEEL THE MK AND SWK FIGHT IN MY BONES. Also can you imagine with like that one art post Mei asks MK who HE wants to be, not a reflection of somebody, not the Monkie Kid, not the Harbringer of Chaos and HE REPLIES WITH HIS REAL NAME I WOULD GO INSANE
I'm like. 85% sure that person was me afasdfafsd. I know I've mentioned it before somewhere!
Because it's like, MK feels extremely abandoned and hurt by Wukong during s2. MK's line of "Fine! Then just leave! At least my friends will never abandon me!" in 2x01 Sleep Bug is VERY telling, and it also makes me sob when put together with 3x10 The Samadhi Fire:
MK: "NO! Mei is my best friend—I'd never abandon her when she needs me! We're heroes! It's what we do!"
And 4x02 New Adventures:
MK: “You don’t know! We’d risk it for sure! I won’t abandon them when they need us.”
MK's own low self-worth combined with Wukong's tendency to leave in the worst way possible, which was only further exacerbated by the Lady Bone Demon's manipulation.
And I think MK's experiences and feelings throughout s2 made him resolve to never make his friends feel abandoned.
But of course, since this is Lego Monkie Kid, it's more interesting than just that—because MK leaves at the end of s4. It was out of fear, sure, but so was Wukong leaving in s2 and at the end of s3. MK does exactly what he set out not to do, making the same mistakes his mentor has, literally going to isolate himself on Flower Fruit Mountain for an undetermined amount of time.
It's things like this that make the question of "Who is MK" so intriguing, because that's who MK want's to be. He want's to be himself. But who is that person?
Is MK just like Wukong? Is he a harbinger of chaos? Is he just a noodle delivery boy? Is he Monkie Kid? What if you remove all those labels? What's left? What is he?
(Plus the whole "I just want to be me—to be MK!" "Yeah well...we all know where that leads." interaction between MK and the curse in 4x07)
And now that we've thrown MK's mysterious past and ominous future into the mix, we are in for a FULL on identity crisis spiral next season.
And well, when it comes down to it, MK was willing and ready to fight Wukong in s2. The lmk writers are fantastic at paying off several arcs all at the same time (see all of 3x10, which literally had the culmination of Mei's, MK's, Wukong's, and Macaque's arcs all in one. It's fucking phenomenal), and this is partly due to the time constraints of the show as a whole, but it's also just damn good writing. MK's past, his identity, the hurt he's experienced across every season—that's all going to come to a head. I also imagine it's going to happen right along side Mei, Wukong, and Macaque's arcs once again, because that's just how this show do. It do insane shit.
I also happen to be a believer in "Samadhi Fire Part 3", in which we get another 3x10 and 4x08 parallel to round it all up, and I am waiting, WAITING, for Mei to repeat MK's words back at him:
“Mei! You have to stop. I know you’re upset, and that’s okay! I know what it’s like to have a power you don’t know how to control—to feel like the fate of the world is in your hands and you have no idea what to do! But you always have my back, and help me through it. We, will figure this out! Together!” (3x10 The Samadhi Fire)
((Which, MK himself is repeating Mei's words back at her, with "But we're going to figure this out." I NEED A POSITIVE FEEDBACK FRIEND LOOP BABY))
But yeah. I'M WAITING MAN. WE HAVE THE SAME BONE FEELINGS.

I want MK to beat the SHIT out of Wukong#And then I want Mei to stop him#Like please please please#THE SET-UP'S ALL THERE#AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES ME INSANE ABOUT THIS IN PARTICULAR#Cause like. Me? I'm a really big fan of set-up#I was watching She-ra with my friends tonight and we're finally at the rushed Catra redemption#Complete downward spiral in s4 and 2 episodes into s5 she's all of a sudden cool with Glimmer#And Glimmers cool with her. Despite the fact that Catra was the one who basically killed her mom. And her planet.#Like hello#I know you're both alone but things should not have resolved this quickly#Like we literally waited 4 seasons for shadowpeach to even have a civil conversation with each other#But again that's because lmk actually knows what set-up and payoff is#Like. If I watch She-ra give someone else an unearned character arc ONE MORE TIME. #its seems we really may be at the end of vanity#i missed a call from my dad and thought we might be in a connors birthday situation but no. not yet#he did say that it feels like this is it bc my mom's situation is complicated bc she has so much wrong at this point#its like a h0use md episode. the doctors dont seem to kno what to do and shes not very coherent#so my dad was saying that i should look at flights and by tonight hell let me kno if i should pull the trigger and buy a one way ticket home#it sucks. he sounds rough. i feel so bad for him. his wife of 29 years is dying#its not fair. shes only 53#i wanna be there but im stuck here across the country. i wanna go home. thats a bit frighting tho bc itll take me at least 10 hrs to travel#and i dont want her to die while im in the air but i also dont want her to suffer#i hope she gets better but if she doenst i hope its fast. there dont seem to do any good options. shes so tried and its so complicated#and if she does get better than this then what would that even mean? my sister says it doesnt feel like there will b a better anymore after#this. and bless her to the ends of the earth she reached out this morning and was giving me updates#comforting to kno im not just being dramatic. its actually just really bleak#its kinda funny tho. my sister was like meh it doesnt seem so bad and then like 10min later she was like yeah no i was wrong its sorta#horrible apprently shes been deterorating#god. if i go back home do i take clothes for a funeral? do i keep up to date with my genomics class? will i become offset from my graduate#cohort? will i get my wish to play with legos at home? all questions worth considering#well. ill deal with whatever comes. so it goes. itll b fine. i mean ill b fine#just sad ya kno?#three weeks ago she was alright and saying she could fly out to take care of me after oral surgery#now shes dying#unrelated

The plot is advancing, the demon that was Meg possessed Sam and made him kill hunters, and they almost killed Jo. We learn through a demon (so take it with salt) that John killed Bill after John fucked up and got him hurt. Bobby apparently serves his guests holy water spiked beer. And Dean refuses to kill Sam.

cough. starting to realise i really dont care about my dissertation. scared
#i was supposed to submit a draft before monday but like uh its just not done#been sick and still sick but it needs to be done#usually the panic would have set in by now and i would be able to force myself to sit and do it but. i am just sat here#i wrote about 100 words and i need to write at least 600 more (and actually fix my fucking algorithm but we dont talk about that)#but alas i dont care. I will care tomorrow (sunday) OR AT LEAST I HOPE SJDLFHSDKFJSDK#i think the one of the shittiest symptoms of my various Brain things is the lack of motivation#Because there are so many things i want to do but i simply cant do them#i was getting 90%-100% in EVERYTHING at uni until half way through my second year when i had a psychotic episode#now i average about 60%#this isnt bad and i will get my degree#but its not really what i went to university to do#anyways maybe if i wrote as many sentences as tags on this post i might finish my disseration tonight

i think i've finally settled on my feelings on ciel as a character which is that the writers kinda fucked her over. i don't hate her but i do hate how she was utilized after 23 (which is to say... not really all that much?)
#episodes 19-23 (first half) ciel you will always be the realest to me i love you so much#post 23 she has literally Nothing. no arc at all. even her sendoff episode is more about rio than her#despite elisio's entire plan hinging on dragging HER into the darkness? but unlike the other cures we don't even see the story get close#to that happening which is a huge disappointment. 41 in general is very much a mixed bag for me and i think the lack of#any substantial payoff for ciel (and rio but this post is not about him) is a big part of why i feel that way#ciel is given a conflict but in the end it doesn't even fucking matter because it works out perfectly in the end for her#just like every other conflict she has. it's very frustrating especially when compared to the other cures#this all plays into my 'the Coma(TM) was the worst decision the writers could've made' thesis#precure critical#(just covering my bases)#sorry for being a little negative tonight but it's been on my mind for a while

About to say something controversial but I think some of the Blue Lock fandom is getting way too comfortable with being homophobic
#Too exhausted to actually type my full thoughts out but#Blue Lock as a series ABSOLUTELY can be read with a gay lens and this does not just apply to shipping the characters#Like obviously the characters and their dynamics can be read with that in mind. Obviously#But a major themes of Blue Lock is following your dreams and passions and to a lesser extent that includes being true to yourself#ESPECIALLY with being true to who you really are and being confident in your identity#Which when combined with some character arcs you can 100% read that in a more overall queer lighting#And if you take Ego and Blue Lock itself into account as like. An extremely toxic masculine environment that is actively worsening the cast#There’s. Very interesting points to be made but again. I am not going into all that tonight#POINT IS. Blue Lock in general has a lot of gay reads you can make#And ESPECIALLY with a lot of ReoNagi news coming out with the oneshots and with the Episode Nagi movie#I see people uh…… Getting a little too comfortable being homophobic#I shan’t lie it is incredibly fucking alienating to keep running into#I don’t gaf about fandom stuff or what fans say and I partake in some jokes myself but like#Some of them… Coming from people who aren’t gay… Like come on#Come on guys what are we doing here#This is stream of consciousness rambly bullshit I’ve just had it on my mind awhile#🌱💚
