# - 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐌𝐈 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ — 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 : Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zenin, Satoru Gojo & Toge Inumaki
masterlist | jjk masterlist | upcoming anon asks
Yuji
Yuji downright catches you two making out completely by accident. He borrowed a copy of a certain manga from megumi and planned to return it so when megumi told him just to bring it to his room to return it when he found the time, he not so subtly stumbled upon his two friends. Megumi was sat on his bed, you comfortably on his lap as sucked faces. His hands were rubbing your bad under your shirt, toying with the strap of your bra. Megumi’s hands moved to your hips to grind you on top of him.
Just as you were about to take the lead - “oh shit” stood at the entrance of your boyfriend’s door was non other than Yuji, eyes wide as he took in the position of you both. It took a few seconds of stuttered and jumbled up words only for megumi to grab a pillow and throw it in Yuji direction “piss off! Why don’t you knock next time?!” Narrowly missing the attack, yuji bent down to place the manga on the floor before quickly scurrying off in the furthest direction, “I’m so telling Gojo Sensei!”
Nobara
Nobara can tell straight off the bat just simply from the way you smile. “Why’re you smiling so damn much?” She’d ask, knowing damn well why. “Don’t I always smile this much?” Normally she’d agree until she sees the way your eyes flicker over to the table behind her, already imagining the love-stricken face a certain dark haired boy held. The next clue was the your reaction to a notification sounding on your phone, nearly diving for the device and soon followed by an even wider smile. “You’re practically glowing, you fucked already huh” whipping your head towards your friend you fumble over your words as a hue of pink stains your face - a dead giveaway. “that’s a sex glow if I’ve ever seen one”
Yuta
He is the one who keeps his nose out of everyone's business but even he couldn't help but feel intrigued when he noticed that Megumi had your scent on him one morning. Tasked with training with the first years, he was paired with Megumi. Battling back and forth caused the two to be within close proximity to each other, allowing Yuta to notice the whiff of perfume on Megumi’s uniform. Strange, where had he smelt that before? He’d find it strange how strong the scent was and took it upon himself to find out.
His opportunity arose on his walk through the school’s gardens, nearly knocking heads with you before he caught himself. Yuta didn’t even have time to open his mouth before a certain scent practically punched him in the face. And it certainly didn’t help when he was sat between you both on the field, overwhelmed with the mix of smells. “Do you guys swap deodorant or something?” Megumi just scrunched his eyebrows in frustration, his attention taken away from his book, “what the hell are you talking about now?” The irritation was clear in his voice as Yuta’s eyes flickered between you two. “You two smell like each other, why? You sleeping in the same bed or somethin’?”
Maki
Ohohoho she knew. Maki’s not stupid, she can see the way you both steal glances at each other, the secret smiles in the hallways, the ‘slick’ passing of notes… so when you start making excuses on days you’re due to train together she knew exactly where you’d be. “I’m really sorry but my mum asked me to head into Kyoto later to get something for her” another one of your white lies bled through your teeth. She just raised an eyebrow to your poor excuse. “A-ha, you heading there with your boytoy?” This of course caused you to trip over your words- “wha-I don’t-boyfriend? What’s that?” Only to receive a deadpan face in return.
Not only was that embarrassing enough but you just had to run into her in the hallways of your school - no less holding hands with your ‘boytoy’. “Oi name!” You heard from the other end of the hall, and unfortunately for megumi, causing your instincts to kick in. Quickly snatching your hand from his grasp you shoved him into a nearby classroom (hopefully not currently in use) followed by a crash bang - the tell tale signs of an upcoming injury and whiny boyfriend. “What was that?” Although she knew full well what - or who - that was. “Nothing! You’re seeing things!” You spat out in a panic. “Uh-huh, well tell megumi to come out when he has time, he has training with Gojo Sensei”
Gojo & Toge
Toge, the bastard, even though his speech fails him that doesn’t stop him from becoming the school’s gossip queen. Toge would be the one to tell everyone in the school group chat which of course includes Gojo which also leads the entirety of Japan to find out. And Gojo, oho Gojo, he’d make it his life mission to involve himself as much as possible in Megumi’s life. They’d actually work together; Toge would gather information and pass it on to his Sensei only for Gojo to use it against his son. They’d have their little gossip sesh during class of course, absolutely no shame whatsoever. But the way they found out was unfortunately unforgettable.
Walking into class after hours to get his pencil case that he mistakenly forgotten, Toge only walked in to find you sat on megumi’s desk with the boy sat on his chair with his head on your lap. Megumi had a girlfriend? Toge was almost convinced that he wasn’t into girls seeing as he paid no attention or care to the opposite sex. Oh how wrong he was. Of course he took a picture, what else was he supposed to do? Walk away? “Oh and what’s this?” Behind him of course was non other than the infamous six eyes - also his teacher. “Little Megumi’s not so little anymore huh”. If anyone were to see them they’d surely come off as creeps with Gojo’s tall frame shadowing Toge’s, both peeking through the screen door of the classroom. “Send me that picture won’t you?” Fortunately for them they didn’t make themselves noticeable, unfortunately for you word spread the next day.

THE TASTE OF LOVE IS ON MY GUMS (I WANT TO DRINK YOUR TEARS AS MOUTHWASH)
[SYNOPSIS] ˚⁀➷。 suguru decides winter is your season, after all.
[NOTES] ˚⁀➷。 this man has me tweaking so goddamn hard. you have no idea. lmao. suguru didn’t go crazy au, i used they/them pronouns for kirara. also y’all should lowkey listen to margaret by lana while reading this
Tumblr media
“five minutes, everyone!” satoru’s voice echoes through the dimly-lit room, and you hear some people squeak and cheer.
your eyes flicker briefly to suguru, who’s standing right next to his best friend, and he catches you, eyes crinkling and a cherry blush on his face, probably thanks to the beer he drank as competition with the strongest sorcerer. satoru’s hand drapes around his neck, and he whispers something to him, enough for you not to hear from across the room, where you’re smoking your cigarette with shoko. you do, however, see the small punch your boyfriend gives the man, and chuckle, amused.
“mom, dad, let’s go!” the twins yell in unison, splitting, dragging you and suguru out by your arms, where everybody is.
yuta laughs as you’re pulled by him, almost stumbling over, and megumi and yuuji do too. nobara stands outside, waving her arms around in the air, next to maki, toge and panda, who’re doing just the same, firecrackers and fireworks in their hands.
the school is crowded, this year everyone — including the kyoto students and utahime — joined for new year’s. as you’re dragged outside, nanako’s grip slips from your arm, and her and mimiko leave you and suguru behind, opting to jump on the third years’ backs, and hakari and kirara abide without a word.
“i blame satoru for giving them so much energy.” suguru jokes and wraps an arm around your shoulders, beginning to walk forward. you laugh at him, because you think the same.
slowly, everyone gathers outside: shoko’s lighting another cigarette, nanami is fixing his tie while ino just stands next to him, freezing, after insisting his sheisty is enough to keep him warm, gojo’s pestering utahime and yuki is trying to calm choso after todo slipped a joke about itadori being his brother again. kusakabe’s exasperated as he sees panda and toge fool around with the soon-to-be explosions. yuta and maki are laughing, and nobara and the boys gathered next to nanako, mimiko and the third years.
miwa and kokichi stand somewhere, hand in hand, and momo gushes over them as kamo only sighs, and mai is absolutely resisting the urge to tease them. akari, like the big sister she is, is scolding arata for drinking beer, and ijichi, as always, is trying to calm her down.
suguru walks with you, a bit out front, holding you close. he thinks he couldn’t have had it any better — thank the heavens you were by his side through everything — when he looks at you like this, his heart swells with anticipation. you’re 27 and he is too. in a month, 28 will hit him in the guts. still, he can’t wait.
“two minutes!” yuuji exclaims, and everybody starts to gather closer together, you and the boy with plum blossoms in his eyes the only ones outside of the small brownian motion happening behind. the pink-haired first-year tries to run forward, but megumi, hakari and yuta grip him by his hood.
“don’t, just wait.” they all say in unison, and nanako, mimiko, tsumiki, nobara and maki exchange looks, brows quirked up. the twins slide from their senpais’ backs back down, and move closer to the rest of the group.
everyone’s together.
everyone’s happy.
the moments fly by easily. fireworks start to bloom in the sky. the temples of the school are covered in snow, but the ground has been cleared, thanks to the amazing boys who made your high school years feel like nothing short of the worlds longest rollercoaster.
“five!” noritoshi finally yells.
you looks at suguru with a loving look in your eyes. his bun’s a bit disheveled, but you don’t mind.
“four!” yuki says next.
a particularly beautiful explosion catches your attention, and the boy lets you slip from his hold to step forward.
“three!” todo announces.
suguru’s heart is about to burst, he looks at his two best friends: wide grins on their shameless faces.
his hand travels to his pocket, and he slides something out. music’s blaring in the background from the empty room from inside, but he can only hear the echo of his heartbeat in his ears.
“two!” the kyoto girls yell excitedly.
you’re still with your back to him. he gets down on his knee.
throughout the heavens and the earth, please, god, let him be the honored one.
“one!” the tokyo kids yell.
everybody gasps, and pyrotechnics burn in the sky.
the twins are crying in the background, silently — their mom and dad are getting married — and megumi holds mimiko so close he thinks the air might leave her lungs. tsumiki’s looking at you two with the sweetest smile. toge’s arm is slung tightly around nanako’s shoulder.
“mentaiko.”
“choke.” nanako says back with a small laugh, and the blond flicks her forehead.
panda pats her head, and lets out an amused chuckle.
kirara can’t believe what they’re seeing. they side-eye kinji, who just stands there looking smug, and next to him, yuta smiles, and thinks he might let rika out to see this too, because after all, she somehow liked you from the beginning.
yuki pats choso’s shoulder, the poor cursed womb is crying. nanami looks at his favorite senior, and shoko tries to blink back tears, but utahime knows better, so she hugs her. satoru’s tears are burning through his sclera, but his glasses are good enough to hide them.
you turn around, right when the clock strikes midnight. a big smile is on your face, and then your hands cover your mouth in shock and disbelief and everything that feels like the shoujo mangas suguru laughed at you for liking.
“suguru?” you sniffle, and feel a tear fall from your eye unexpectedly.
he matches you, and one falls on his face too. it drags down on his right side, contouring his chiseled face. when it reaches the jawline, it falls.
“i love you, sweetheart.”
his throat almost constricts, his spine is tingling, another ten tears fall from his eyes as you nod, your own washing down your cheeks. another ten years is all he wants with you, and many more if that’s not too much to ask for.
“marry me, y/n.” his words are heavy, full of love, they peel you open, and lick your soul.
“yes.”
another sniffle, and he gets up, and lifts you up in his embrace. he kisses you like he wasn’t by your side for the last decade.
shibuya in winter doesn’t compare to this.
everyone’s cheering in the background, and panda lights his fireworks too. now you hear mimiko’s and nanako’s happy cries, and kirara’s bowling their eyes out next to kinji — you truly babied them too much, but you’ll still never admit — and megumi and tsumiki look at each other tenderly, boy’s head rested over your daughter’s. two of the people that raised them are now in front of them, and it’s not as if they didn’t know you loved each other, they just can’t believe they were allowed to see this moment.
yuuji and nobara are holding onto each other for dear life as they’re whimpering, and maki and mai shoot each other a happy look. kamo’s eyes dart open, and miwa’s muffling her sobs, her boyfriend right besides her, pinching her cheeks. momo feels her heart clench with so much happiness, and looks to the side, seeing utahime get all teary-eyed. todo’s clutching his necklace.
“finally…” satoru sighs, and nanami punches his shoulder, a ghost of a tear disappearing on the back of his hand.
suguru’s arm hooks under the back of your knees, and he turns around, with you in his hold, bridal style. teenage smiles on your faces: your hand is stretched out front, pink morganite and aquamarine shining in the moonlight.
“happy new year, everyone!” your fiancé cheers, and throws you in the air, above. a flash — shoko’s ancient polariod camera, and everyone comes rushing forward.

We Meet Again (Todo Aoi x Reader)
pairings: Todo Aoi x Fem!reader
summary: You and the muscular third-year from Kyoto Jujutsu High met once again after breaking up for a year due to unknown reasons.
WARNINGS: ANIME JJK SPOILERS!! Language, Violence
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Tumblr media
Being a grade 1 sorcerer isn't easy. You were always departed even when you were in your first year. You sigh as you crane your neck to the side, the ache from the battle catching up to you. You recently exorcised a whole abandoned school somewhere, and you were met with a special grade curse. If you were an amateur, you would've run and contacted your superiors, but you were not. You were used to it. You've been exorcising curses since you were a child, and now, you're in your third year, your last year in Jujutsu High. A sigh escaped your lips as the car ride came to an end. You left the car with no words and silently went to the principal's office.
You knocked twice before sliding the door open, "Principal." You were met with the said man, sewing another plush. "You're back earlier than expected." He hummed, not taking his eyes off the plush. "It was nothing I couldn't handle." You replied tiredly, eyes droopy. "Well, then." He finally met your eyes, though he had his shades on. "You can start with the report. I expect to have it by next week." He continued as he observed your state. You hummed, exhausted to even register his words. "You're dismissed." He huffed, knowing you want nothing but to sleep. "Thanks, old man." You yawned as you left the room, wanting nothing but to dive into your bed and sleep the day away.
....
"He what?!" You raised your voice as your juniors told you what happened to them with a Kyoto jujutsu high student. "That's what I was saying!" Nobara huffed, crossing his arms. "Calm down, L/N-senpai, Panda-senpai and Inumaki-senpai arrived before it got dirty." Megumi scratched his cheek, embarrassed at the sight. "Oh, he will pay for that." You gritted your teeth before taking a deep breath. All of you were in the dining area, you surprised your juniors by cooking their breakfast and setting up the table with the food you brought from your mission. "Anyways, how was your mission, L/N-Senpai?" Maki asked, taking a bite of her food. You shrugged and took a sit beside her, putting your head on your palm. "Same old stuff." You answered with a sigh.
"I mean, what am I supposed to tell you? It's the same thing over and over again. I get sent, I kill curses, and I go home." You summarized with a breeze, not in the mood to talk about your recent mission. The others glance at each other before looking at you, not knowing what to say. "Takana?" Toge lifted an eyebrow, "I'm fine, just... tired." You said, well, it wasn't exactly a lie. After discovering that Sukuna has, well, had a vessel, you've been deported to different places to absorb cursed spirits and use them as your own. Your cursed energy might handle it but your physical body has its limits. Before the appearance, your absorbed spirits were only 4 spirits- and you planned to stay that way. But with the higher-ups assigning you those missions, the amount doubled, then tripled, until it was 17, including your last exorcised curse. You're hitting your limit in the worst way possible.
You're cursed technique is easy to understand, it is very similar to Yuuta's and Geto's. You absorb cursed spirits and gain their abilities. But this is where it gets different, the spirit lends you its cursed energy or cursed technique which in return, takes yours for the time being. In short, you swap cursed techniques for the time being. It might affect your physical appearance and mental state. The curse energy impacts your mental health more than your physical, but with the amount of cursed spirits housing your body, it has taken a toll on both physical and mental. You could also imbue the spirit in weapons, making it accessible to you and your peers.
"Look, we're really worried. You've been sent away many times in a short time. Why?" Maki, your closest friend asked, facing you and placing his hand on your shoulder before making you face her. She stared deeply into your eyes, making you anxious. "It's nothing. There's just been a lot of cursed spirits in some area lately." You brush her off, sliding her hands off you. She sighed and nodded, "Whatever you say."
...
The higher-ups must hate you or something - you were supposed to be with your juniors, meeting the Kyoto Jujutsu High Students, but here you were, slaughtering cursed spirits that had threatened the place. You let out a groan as your axe sliced through the curse's head, its body immediately limping. "Fucking old men trying to kill me." You spat some blood, wiping your lips with your palm, sneering. You took a deep breath before standing up straight. You take your phone from your pocket and make a quick call saying that you're done with your mission.
You won't admit it out loud, but you were exhausted - maybe it was because you woke up early in the morning to hunt these curses, or maybe your body was reaching its capacity, not being able to keep up with the cursed energy your soul and other souls were emitting. You rubbed your eyes, the bags under them were dark and big from the special missions from these past few weeks. "Fuck. I need some break." You murmured, throat quite strained from using Aila's speech cursed technique. Alia, one of the cursed spirits housing your body, was a past jujutsu sorcerer who died and got cursed.
Just when you were about to say another word, a ping from your phone got your attention. You huffed as you took it from your pocket- checking what the notification was about. "Are u done with your mission?" You scoffed at the text, seeing that it was from your teacher, Gojo. You rolled your eyes before texting him back a like emoji, not really in the mood for his teasings or shenanigans. You chucked your phone back into your pocket and glanced at the sky. "I really need a vacation."
...
You didn't have time to clean yourself up from the blood of your slaughters- Gojo had requested your presence for meeting the sister schools' students, which is why you were walking with your axe on your shoulder, dried blood on your face, and a scowl resting your lips. If your other classmates weren't suspended, you would've been able to avoid him. You squint your eyes as you see multiple figures down the path, but the oh-so-familiar figure makes you irk. That tall muscular build that you love hate. That you hate so much.
You walked towards them, brows furrowed, lips in a scowl, eyes dark. You heightened your cursed energy, making your presence known to all jujutsu sorcerers. "Ah, there she is." Gojo chimed, smiling at you. You scanned the place, noticing familiar faces, not until your eyes landed on a pink-haired boy. He stared back at you, eyes wide at your appearance, it was like having Sukuna outside of his body. "Didn't expect to see you here." A deep voice said, making both students turn their heads. "We meet again."
"Todo." You forced a smile before rolling your eyes. "L/n." He analyzed your look, noticing the dark circles around your eyes and the dried blood that covered you. "Don't expect me to take it easy on you. I heard what you did to my juniors." You let your gigantic axe down with a thud, the end of the blade hitting the ground while still holding it. "Snitch." He chuckled, leaning forward to you a bit.
"Pick on someone who can go head to toe with you. Like me." You smirked back. Todo held his ground, not backing away from the intense eye contact until a deep voice cleared their throat. "I see you made it in time." Principal Yaga nodded at you. You could only huff, wiping some of the dried blood from your fingers into your already messed-up uniform.
"We'll have our rematch. One way or another." Todo put his hands in his pockets, a wide smirk on his face. "Yeah, whatever." You shrugged, swinging your axe back to your shoulder with ease before going back to your juniors. You took one last glance at Todo before rolling your eyes. 'This is gonna be a mess.' You think to yourself, not only you were here to fight with your sisters' school but to also protect the vessel of Sukuna from them.
...
You and your juniors were now in a room, away from the Kyoto students- discussing what to do. It was a blur to you, you kept spacing out and staring far away. Maybe you were really lacking sleep, or maybe it was the encounter you had with Todo that really got you thinking. "So, L/n-senpai..." Nobara drawled out, pulling you away from your trance. "Hm?" you hummed in response, turning to look at her, only to be greeted by all of them looking at you.
"Do you plan on going toe to toe with Todo?" Maki asked, eyes furrowed. You totally forgot about the event- "It's better if I fight him." You answered unsurely because of the lack of rest and the insane state of your mental and physical health. "But I'm in no shape to hold him off with this state of mine." You continued, taking a deep breath. Yuuji saw your interaction earlier, in fact, everyone did. He doesn't know you but the knocking of Sukuna in his brain is telling him something is wrong with you.
"It's best if I take the cursed spirits rather than fight with other sorcerers." You finally said, making Toge furrow his brows. "Takana?" The second years knew you would never settle for this kind of low, so it was weird for them to see you taking the easy way out. "L/n-san, are you sure about this?" Panda asked, tone full of concern and worry. You couldn't help but smile, the way they care about you is something so heartwarming to you. "Not to worry- I will be there if anyone needs help. I can't have my juniors dying on me."
...
You were right, they do plan on killing Yuuji. Just after the group split up, you felt individual cursed energy in different places but at a close range. It was too weak to be a cursed spirit- so you did the rational thing to do. "Cursed Technique-" You didn't even finish when you felt your body move. Your eyes widened, and an arrow almost shot through you- it was in time when someone behind you moved you easily.
"I told you I'd kill you if you interfered, didn't I?" Your eyes find Todo, shielding you from Noritoshi who had sent you the arrow. "No, you didn't," Noritoshi replied, before sending another arrow after you- this time, you pushed Todo away, blocking the arrow with your gigantic axe. "You said you'd kill us if we ordered you around." Noritoshi corrected, eyes closed.
You let out a tsk, eyes finding Yuuji where you were before. "Same thing! Piss off!" Todo yelled, his muscles bulging. With that, his other peers retreated, but not before Noritoshi reminded Todo. "Make sure you kill him." You grit at his comment, gripping your axe tighter. "That depends on Itadori," Todo replied with a wide smirk, eyes trained on you. You watch as the others retreat, leaving you, Todo, and Yuuji alone.
"You make one wrong move and I assure you-" you point your axe at Todo, your eyes menacing as it is. "You won't have time to activate your technique." You threatened, your axe being imbued with a foul amount of cursed energy. "L/n-san!" Yuuji exclaimed, pulling you out of your intense eye contact with Todo. "I got it." He smiled, putting a hand on your shoulder.
Todo eyed your shoulder, his own shoulder tensing. You looked at Todo, trying to understand his goal- only to be met with those soft eyes. Those eyes that assured you from the past- those eyes that held the same respect and admiration the first time you showed him your strength. Yuuji saw the hesitation in your eyes, but when you took a look at Todo, he noticed the way your shoulder relaxed.
"Yuuji." You drawled out, putting your axe down. "I expect you to beat Todo for me, got it?" Your axe vanished into thin air, which made Todo smile, a genuine smile. "You underestimate me too much, Y/n." He chuckled, shaking his head. Your heart raced at his tone, it was so full of... lightness. Not like the conversation you always had after your first year. It made you bring back memories.
"I trust you, Aoi. I know you." If only you could utter these words to him, but no, you didn't want to bring the conflict to this, instead, you settled on glaring at him. "This fight isn't over, you hear me?" Todo chuckled at your words, "Far from over." He replied, looking directly into your eyes. You could only nod before you fled the scene, taking one last glance before completely dissappearing in their sight.

Tumblr media
Nothing felt right.
You couldn’t sit still in your chair beside your husband.
There was a twisting in your gut. Akio, now 6 months old, was safe and sound with your parents – Grade One sorcerers and your home were hidden by your husband – so you knew Akio was safe.
But call it mother’s instinct – one of your kids was in danger.
You tried to pay attention to the exchange event, watching the fights but the feeling grew and grew and was soon confirmed when all the student’s lights burned red.
You sprung up from your chair and vaguely heard Mei Mei and Yaga speaking – you gripped Satoru’s arm and soon you, him and Utahime along with Gakuganji were running toward a descending curtain. Gojo reached out only to be violently rejected by the curtain, you frowned in confusion but realised a second too late as you too, were blasted backwards.
You looked at Satoru.
“An anti-Gojo veil, I just don’t think it specified which one.” He said, as you realised this was meant to keep you both out as Utahime managed to slide her arm through the veil.
Panic seized your stomach. Megumi. He was in there, he was in danger. Nobara, Yuuji. What about Maki and Toge, Panda too? All the Kyoto kids? You needed to get in. That anger panic soon turned to anger as you realised someone intentionally made this veil to keep you and Satoru from the kids.
“Utahime, gramps, you two go ahead. Protect the kids. I can break this down, but only with Y/N’s intellect.” He waves a hand at them, he may be calm but you can sense his frustration.
Utahime looks at you.
“Hime, please, get me, my kids.” She only nods and they disappear through the curtain.
“Okay, Satoru. What do you see?” You ask. You and your husband work together like a well-oiled machine by now – techniques working in perfect unison after so long of working together and the intimacy of marriage.
“Veil, the cursed spirit made, specifically meant to keep us both out. 2km radius.” He recites, knowing what you need.
“Okay, I’ll create a diversion – then red?” You don’t even realise it by now but you working on sheer instinct and muscle memory. Trying to clear the emotions swirling through your gut right now is taking everything you have.
“It’s a deal, sweet cheeks.” He replies. God, where would you be without this man beside you?
You activate one of your techniques, one of the more durable and as teenage Gojo when training said ‘damn annoying’ ones, Fae Conjuration, and shape an ancestral spirit’s cursed energy into a gigantic elephant.
“I love your flair for drama, princess,” Gojo says, kissing your hand.
“Go big or go home, right.” You reply, which makes him laugh.
As you send the elephant charging into the barrier, just as it hits and bursts into thousands of small blue petals, Satoru sends a bright red burst of energy into the curtain and you see it shrink back into itself.
You both immediately begin running toward the smoke and dust emanating from where you know the river lies. You pray to whoever might be listening that your kids are safe and that you weren’t, once again, too late.
“Y/N, get them out of the way,” Satoru says from behind you, before branching off behind you. You knew what he meant immediately.
Not far away, a series of flashes come and you see, your Yuuji, sweet, kind, loving Yuuji – has hit the curse with four consecutive black flashes. Pride swells in your chest and a giggle at how Kento will react. Next comes several confusing images which you recognise as Todo switching everyone’s places and before you know it the curse has greatly increased their cursed energy output. Yuuji comes running to Todo and just as the energy reaches its peak, you slid into the riverbed in front of the boys, using your cursed claws as anchors and shouting.
“Cursed technique: Wall of Thorns” comes tumbling from your voice, raw and powerful and the magnitude of energy pulsing from your technique quells the curses own but also wraps it up in piercing tendrils of impossibly thick, strong vines.
You look at the curse, a spirit imbued by nature – a being similar to yourself. You smile sadly at it.
“The Dryad. The monk warned me of you.” The curse speaks in a shockingly gentle voice.
“Hanami. I’m sorry it came to this. Return to the earth, and be at peace.” You say as you’ve spotted a shape lingering in the sky.
You turn as fast as you can, as you spot a figure in the sky and grabbing Todo and Yuuji by the arms you shout again.
“Cursed technique: comments flora.” And with that, you and the boys are standing, by a camellia bush about 100ft away.
“Why have we run? Y/N-Sensei?! Todo?! It’s not dead!” Yuuji shouts and leaves to run but Aoi grabs his arm.
“Hold it, brother!” Todo says.
“Do not go closer, Yuuji. Satoru has it from here.” You say.
“Don’t take another step closer, or you’ll get caught in it.” Todo and you push Yuuji behind you both and just in time as a rumble comes through the ground and you’re all soon swathed in a deep purple light.
You giggle a little, Satoru has had a chance to play a little rough today, he’s probably in heaven.
“Ha, he’s as nonstandard as ever,” Todo says.
As the light clears and you release Yuuji from your grip, you look at them both.
“Where is Megumi? I can feel his cursed energy. Is he safe, is he hurt?” You say, patting them both down and spinning them to assess injuries.
“He’s been taken to Shoko Sensei, he was injured, along with Maki. Panda has escorted them to safety.” Todo informs you as you squeeze the (much taller than you) Itadori into your chest.
“Well, maybe I should have Aoi here as your Sensei if he managed to get a black flash from you.” Coke from behind you, as your husband floats down to stand beside you all. Yuuji immediately starts spouting at him about how cool the ‘purple neon flashy thingy’ was and how he’s ‘so OP Sensei’ and Aoi claps and agrees and admires his panache.
“Satoru – Satoru! Megumi! He’s hurt, Shoko has him.” He whips around and grabs your arm and the next thing you know you’re warping into Shoko’s office and you realise the last time you did that your waters had broken and Akio was on his way. But now, it’s your other son, and it’s fear – not joyous apprehension you’re feeling. Satoru is stock still and stiff beside you. You know you’re both worrying you didn’t get to him in time. Your darling boy.
But much to your relief, sitting up with a scowl in front of you is the spikey-haired boy – seemingly unscathed, with Maki opposite him.
You dive into him, wrapping him in your arms.
“Shoko! Ieiri Shoko! Come here now! SHOKO!” You’re shouting through the room and Megumi is hushing you Satoru is pulling at every limb on Megumi checking for damage and Maki is laughing her ass off at the look on her cousin’s face.
“Jesus, Y/N chill the fuck out, your kids fine. He got a nasty gash in his stomach but it’ll heal fine, was more of a cursed technique issue than a health one. 2 weeks bed rest and some painkillers and he’ll be all good.” Shoko says, wiping her hands on her doctors coat and rolling her eyes at you. A flash of a memory of you and Gojo fussing like this over an injured Geto back in the day with her only learning to heal passes through her mind as she witnesses the scene.
She’s soon knocked back by you tossing your arms around her neck and kissing her hair.
“Thank you, I chose the best best friend ever, thank you I love you.” You finally let her go and then begin to fuss over Maki and Megumi together. Telling them that you’re taking both of them and whoever else needs recovery time to you and Gojo’s house and you’ll take care of them.
Shoko raises an eyebrow at Gojo, wondering how he’ll react to this decision.
“What my princess wants, I’ll give her. And if it’s time to look after her kids, then that’s nothing I’ll object to.” He shrugs, grabbing a candy from her desk.
Shoko leaves to check on Inumaki and Noritoshi Kamo and Maki is given permission to leave back to her dorm, with an open invite to the Gojo Cottage to recuperate if she wants.
You sit beside Megumi, with Gojo sprawling his ridiculously long limbs over the legs of the chair he’s on, playing candy crush with one eye and observing you two with the other.
“You okay, ‘gumi?” You say.
“I’m good, don’t worry Mom.” He says, awkwardly patting the top of your hand.
“You did really good today kid, saved a lot of people. Proud of you.” Gojo says, beaming. “You really take after your old man, and by that I mean me, in your levels of extraordinary talent.”
Megumi rolls his eyes and you just laugh at the two boys. You text your mom that Satoru will be home to take Akio to bed tonight, but you’ll both be staying the night in the chairs beside your eldest before you can take him home to rest tomorrow. She replies, after crying for 10 minutes over him being hurt asking if ‘her darling Megumi needs his Nana’ and he blushes and says it’s okay he’ll see her when he’s home. She tells you she loves you, tells Gojo she loves him, and tells Megumi she loves him the mostest and then you hang up. All of you drifting off, you and Gojo curled together on the armchair beside your kid’s bed.
You guys would be okay.

Team Bonding: JJK students x reader x sukuna Part 1
- TW: Dead dove dont read (DDDR) Minors do not interact (MDNI): SA, Physical Assault, DubCon, NonCon, Mindbreak, Public Humiliation, Multiple manipulation, RWORD, PTSD, a lot more.
- Premise: Characters are (18+) (Reader is 21) Jujutsu College au where things are the same but they found yuuji/He ate the finger at 18/+ the start of college.
- Yuuji “came back” after two months of “being dead” and you’re in charge of the training for today for the kyoto sister event.
- Sukuna switches with yuuji in this and chaos ensues :/
Edit: I reread this a month later and guys oh my god. i wrote these time patches of time, right after hitting the rig, and then blacking out after a few paragraphs im sorry ill actually write this time.
You were coming back from a mission that took about 2 weeks due to traveling and tracking down a spirit as the higher ups were testing your Light Manipulation. You know it was hard for everyone the death of one of the freshmen, now you look after Nobara with Megumi.
You’re the only 3rd year and they all knew you loved your pride. Something about being the “oldest” (since the seniors are all granted weekly missions.), the authority that just made looking up at them, was just an excuse to point your nose up high, and only got depressed for a /day/ when you found out Kamo was 5 days older than you.
You’re like an older sister or mom to them, with a few exceptions. The days were leading up to the Kyoto sisterhood school match, while everyone was meeting up to train, Gojo introduces Yuuji back to everyone.
You’re all shocked to say the least. Gojo was acting normally the whole time, that bastard. “(Y/n)’s in charge of sparring today. I’ll come back later with Shoko in case Yuta’s too tired.” He teased at his baby cousin before he left. He was probably referencing to take it easy pn yuta, he probably beat his ass showing him a new technique.
You ignored him yet again and started to pair everyone up. “Nobara and Yuta, Panda and Maki, Toge and Megumi,” leaving you with Yuuji. “We’ll take it slow zombie.”
- Into the match you cursed, “Shit- he’s so durable.” But you loved that. You threw yourself back and used your fingers to catch and push yourself away from Yuuji’s next punch. “He’s a close range fighter, too.” You feel like you found your match in terms of adaptability.
You fix your stance, both legs balances one in front of the other, knees bend, your body lowers and fingers and knees bent, ready at any time to change from offense to defense. You find his eyes again and don’t dare break contact as he’s fast. Faster than you, a blink could be worse than a misstep.
This was new as you always held yourself back from seriously harming your classmates. That pride doesn’t come from nowhere. Your favorite sparring partner is Todo, because he can get close and handle/not hold back punches.
It felt like you were getting beaten with respect, not like what I want to do to my underclassmen. What good would they learn from losing a time from sitting in the infirmary so often? But this was different.
You felt like you were fighting Maki on drugs, or with cursed energy, and was face to face to Yuuji, as he pinned you down. He was almost like Todo, but you couldn’t read him since you just met.
“Where’s your pride now?” He had enough of your poking and prodding. No warm welcome, not even a nice reaction from his friends. But he knew it was serious to you, so out of respect, he’ll follow suite. He’ll show off what he learned in his training with Gojo.
“Shut up Cannibal Corpse.” You teased back, smashing your forehead into the T of his face, hoping he’d be able to take it.
He backs and stands up, hand covering his face. He stopped in a way to let you know he needed a second. Blood coming from his nose? Or his mouth?
“Oh shit, are you okay?” You stand up too, turning to yell for your medic. “Yuu-“ You’re thrown back by the scruff of your collar landing on your shoulder, butt and hands, scratching them.
“Woah, dude, look I’m sorry,” You huff, rubbing your scraped skin as you slowly stood again. “I thought you could handle it.” You tried to ease the tension, coming close to him to see if he was alright.
He doesn’t look at you, but you feel an energy forming around him. You didn’t know what this could be, his cursed energy? Why does it feel so suffocating?
“(Y/N)!” Megumi tries to get his shikigami to get you out of his proximity but they were slaughtered in a a blink of an eye.
“What the hell was going on, where is the enemy?” You quickly looked up and down, about to grab Yuuji and run.
But your face was cupped so hard your chin could’ve snapped. Pinkie was looking down at you with cold eyes. Why were you letting this happen? You were in charge, you’re the oldest. You don’t resist but give a look of what the fuck back to him.
“Sukuna! Let her Go!” Megumi screamed. The other students semi surrounding you both.
“She’s so fun, though.” Yuuji cocks a smile, your brain still trying to make sense of what’s happening and who was really in danger here. You glare harder at him, knowing if you struggled, he would like it, and that it was cause you more pain. You couldn’t freak them out anymore, you’ve gotta get this under control.
“Tell you what, since /I’m/ the oldest,” He gave your cheeks a squeeze. “I’ll take over this bonding sparring whatever ur stupid sensei said. Putting a woman in charge… ha! I’ll show you a type of bond you all can share.”
He tears off the front of your shirt, holding your body closer, but you still say nothing but feel hate for him. Trying to humiliate you in front of your classmates, like you’re not in your sports bra most of the time. It didn’t bother you that you were semi exposed, you knew you looked good, but what was the reason?
Everyone started to yell and tell him to stop, ignoring the embarrassing sight Sukuna tried to use. Of course they didn’t care about your body, they had to figure out a way to separate you both carefully. You turn to face your classmates.
“It’s okay guys, if he wanted me dead he would’ve killed me by now.” You shoot your eyes back and look glare into Sukuna’s eyes, not the same bright, round eyes you first saw before anything else. You look harder.
“Yuuji’s still in there somewhere.”
Sukuna laughs. “You guys misunderstand. I said I’m in charge,” His other arm that was holding your torso back starts to move down the curve of your body, stopping at your outer thigh and squeezing roughly. “Todays lesson is, endurance. This one here,” He holds you up by your neck, as you’re trying to use your upper body strength up get higher, to get some air but his wrists alone are strong enough for him to pick u up easily. “will stomach all I will give her.”
He brings you back down, coughing for air as licks a tear from your cheek. He reverts his eyes back to your helpless friends. “Your part now is to endure, all the way til the end, then my game can start.”
You honestly couldn’t care what he was talking about, you could take whatever ridiculous match he has set up but to involve your mates? it wasn’t a sense of pride anymore but of respect of your friends. You just met this prick, the only thing stopping you from beating his ass to hell is that you saw their reaction about his supposed death. You didn’t want to be the real reason this time, well could you?
If worse comes to worst, you should be fine. You could take a beating, you had no problem being fought by a special grade curses and even showing off before Gojo gets here. Once you get out of his grip you can get everyone to attack. You’re the only thing in the way though you wouldn’t mind being taken with him if it comes to it. how heroic would that date be.
“Interrupt at all, even think about it, and I will end them, you, then anyone else I can find after.” He says to no-one. The parasite everyone was so on edge about needed a moment to breathe?
He huffs for a second, you thought there was a light in his eyes as he tried to let you go. You soften your look when- “Ah ah ah.” Sukuna takes over again, pinning you back to him, his other hand clapping around your neck. “I said I’d end them, and then you all.” He repeats to Yuuji. “Just shut up, watch, and then I’ll go away. It’s so boring being cooped up in this brat all day.” In all this, Yuuji’s trying to fight back? He can see this? Was anyone going to tell you what the fuck was going on. “Id rather be in this one instead.”
You felt the energies around you shrink down, though, agitated. It seems they knew about what was happening to Yuuji and seeing them scared like this wasn’t really a good sign for you. They can get scared of course, but all of them? Together like this? This was not how you wanted to traumatize them, what would they learn other than powerlessness?
“Let go already, you’ll leave a mark on my neck.” You choked out.
“You don’t have the brains to worry about that after I’m done with you.”
You roll your eyes at him earning a slap. You fell the ground shake and your friends winced at the sound. “Fuck-“ You shot up from the ground holding your steering hot cheek, right before he kicks you back down, leaving you sprawled and confused at the assault.
You haven’t been hit like that in years. Tears weld up in your eyes and you choke on a memory that’s created this boastful monster.
Sukuna frowned, “I thought you were tougher than that. Maybe this won’t be as fun as I thought. I knew I should’ve started with the short girl over there.”
You spit at him. “Don’t touch her, I’ll fucking kill you.” You blink to clear your vision and suppress the overwhelming memory. You glare at him before finding Nobara’s eyes. If they were 2+ years younger than you, you’d joke that they’re just a kid, but Nobi, your new baby sister,Like hell you’d let anyone make her feel how you felt. She was tough like you, even tougher you thought, because of how different you were, but still ended up similar.
“Tell me have any of you tried her out yet?”
You could only look out to see your friends gritting their teeth and weapons. Panda speaks up, “She’s our best fighter.” Hoping to lead away from this devious situation. You’ve already fought them all, and won. Is kuna trying to piss you off more? You ignore his assaults, the unfamiliar hands now controlling you.
“That’s just perfect.” He pulls your hips to connect to his, and your heart stops. You can feel it.
You actually freeze this time. Is he actually going to do it? You’d rather be beaten half to death or even to death, but how hard he was behind you, it birthed a black hole in your stomach.
Your body goes limp, unconsciously submitting to him, your eyes fall, not being able to look at anyone else. Will he be quick, will they fight for me? Is this what he really wants? Or is this just the start?
He picks you up and drops you to your knees painfully, still holding onto your collar. “Don’t try to run unless u want all their heads stringed together.” He says to you.
Everyone else watches, clutching each other or their weapons tighter, trying to think of a way, when they can go in, or if they even see when Gojo was coming back .
Grabbing your chin and lifting it up, he looks down at you and smacks you again. Your ear is on fire. The strike of his finger felt like a whip onto the side of your face. He hits you again, then again, and again.
You huff, picking yourself up slowly each time. If you didn’t, he’d step on your fingers, almost trying to grind the bones inside.
Sukuna raises his hand as you stare down and with this one, he sends you to the feet of Toge, Yuta, and Panda.
They look down at you, mixed feelings of guilt, anger, sorrow,. You speak to them through swelling cheeks, “Don’t worry you guys, I’ll be even stronger after this. Get ready cause next tim-”
Sukuna comes by and grabs you by the hair, dragging you to back to your original spot, tears and blood now messing up your face.
“You look so stupid right now.” He sneers. “You should see yourself.”  At this point you were exhausted from holding yourself back from beating the shit out of him.
“Everyone,” He raises his voice for an announcement. “take your phones out and take a picture from your favorite parts of the lesson, okay?”
He tilts your head towards his, takes out Yuuji’’s phone from his pocket and snaps a picture of you both. *click*

You all took off into the forest at full sprint, with Maki and Itadori naturally pulling ahead of the rest of you. Clapping his hands together, Megumi summoned Divine Dog Black, who manifested with a unearthly howl. It effortlessly charged forward, nose raised in the air, testing it for the scent of the Grade 2 curse which had been released into the forest. This was the advantage of having more teammates than just Yuta — you weren’t responsible for nearly as much. Doubtless you would take advantage of your cursed signature detection, but the brunt of the tracking would be borne by the shikigami, who looked happy to do it, tail wagging as it bounded along.
At about the same time that you sensed a presence approaching, the Divine Dog barked out a warning. A grade three curse shaped vaguely like a spider dropped down in front of you, baring its fangs in an attempt to look threatening, though none of you were impressed. The Divine Dog looked proud of itself for detecting the curse, but unfortunately, it was not the curse’s signature that you felt drawing nearer.
“Watch out!” you shouted, grabbing onto Itadori’s red hood and yanking him backwards just in time. A huge fist rammed into the air where he had previously been standing, instead making contact with the grade three curse and sending it flying into a tree, where it promptly exploded from the force of the exorcism.
“Y/N L/N!” Todo thundered, pointing at you. “You owe me a fight!”
“Remember the plan!” Maki shouted.
“Sorry, Todo,” you called over your shoulder as you veered around him. “You’ll have to deal with him first!”
You split up into your predetermined groups, with Toge, Panda, and Nobara going in one direction as Maki and Megumi went the other. You and Tullia continued forwards, though you did turn your head, craning your neck to catch one last glimpse of Maki.
She locked eyes with you, and you tried your best to communicate to her with just that single glance what you wanted to say. Please. I will tell you everything when I can. Please don’t be hurt. Please know that you are my best friend. Something like that. If anyone could understand you from just one look, it had to be her, so you prayed that that was enough.
You couldn’t be sure, though. She rounded the corner before you were able to tell. Gradually, Toge, Nobara, and even Panda’s heavy footsteps faded as well, leaving you and Tullia truly alone. Reaching out with your cursed signature detection, you felt nothing, so you motioned for her to slow down.
“There’s no point in wasting energy,” you said. “There aren’t any curses or students in the immediate vicinity, so let’s slow down until we can pick where we want to go next.”
“Got it. How do we pick? Want me to close my eyes, spin, and point?” Tullia said.
“No,” you said. “I’ll be the one closing my eyes, and stealing some of your cursed energy while I’m at it. I’m sorry.”
“Oh, it’s no big deal. I’ll keep my eyes peeled in the meantime, just in case, though you know I won’t be much help while you’re borrowing my energy,” she said.
“It won’t be too much. I don’t need to use Composition; rather, I’m using your power to broaden the range of my cursed signature detection,” you said. Her mouth made a small ‘o’ of acknowledgement.
“Makes sense. Good luck!” she said.
You screwed your eyes shut, firstly reaching out for the other presence that was constantly intertwined with yours. It was the core of Tullia’s cursed technique, dancing alongside your own — in tandem for now, until you dipped your hand into it, siphoning it off bit by bit and letting it pour into your own self. It took a moment, but then there was a sudden surge of strength in your veins as the newfound source of power rushed through them.
Taking a deep breath, you widened the area of your cursed signature detection — which was really just an application of Dissection but supremely simplified — and searched the entire forest for the students. They were your biggest threat; although any of your classmates could handle a Grade 2 curse, you knew that some of the Kyoto students might pose some trouble to them, especially if they had teamed up.
Immediately, though, you noticed something curious. Towards the east were the signatures of Megumi and Divine Dog Black, and to the west were Toge, Panda, and Nobara, but for some reason, all of the Kyoto students’ signatures were concentrated near where you all, the Tokyo students, had begun the event. That is to say, all of the Kyoto students and —
“Itadori!” you gasped. “They’re trying to kill Itadori!”
“What?” Tullia said, voice trembling as she pressed a handkerchief to her nose, red overtaking the white of the fabric. Her face was pale and sweaty, but she smiled bravely at you, a reassurance that she was doing fine even if she looked the opposite. Inside, you felt her cursed energy thrum, rallying as she took a sip from the water bottle full of bleach she had brought with her, reinforcing her facade.
“Are you okay?” you said anyways. You often suspected that lending you her energy took a greater toll on Tullia than she’d ever admit to, but whenever any of you — Ieri, Gojo, or you yourself — asked, she denied it profusely. This time was much the same, as she shook her head, balling up the handkerchief and shoving it back in the small backpack she carried with her.
“I’m not the one you should be worrying about right now. What do you mean, they’re trying to kill Itadori? How can you tell?” she said.
“It’s only a hunch, but what other reason would all of the Kyoto students have to be gathered around him? That’s where they’re all located, by the way, and why we haven’t run into any of them despite how proactively they sabotaged us during the last exchange event,” you said.
“Why, though? He’s such a sweet boy!” Tullia said.
“Tullia,” you said incredulously. “You know, I really admire you for getting to know someone like that, but did you forget that he’s literally Sukuna’s vessel? It’s not a surprise that they want to kill him.”
“But killing is forbidden in the challenge. The only objective is to hunt down the curse,” she said.
“Oh, they’re hunting down a curse alright,” you said, pulling out your phone and swearing loudly when calling Noritoshi sent you straight to voicemail, further confirming your suspicions. “Just not the one that was released for us to exorcise.”
“They really see him like that?” she said. You sighed.
“Of course they do. Or maybe it’s just that it doesn’t matter to them; at any rate, I know Noritoshi is the dutiful type. I wouldn’t put it past Principal Gakuganji to ask him to do something like that, and if the principal demanded it, then he’d definitely oblige. And the rest of the Kyoto students would probably follow his lead, so that’s just as likely of an explanation,” you said.
“I can’t believe they’re all ganging up on him,” Tullia said. “That’s ridiculous, and cowardly.”
“No, not necessarily all of them,” you said, allowing yourself to smile fondly. “There’s one that might even take a liking to him. If it’s like that, then he’ll only have to prove himself once, and that’ll be enough. The others will leave him alone then, too.”
“Todo?” Tullia guessed. You nodded.
“He’s that sort,” you said. “If Todo decides he likes Itadori, then it’s just up to Itadori to prove himself worthy of standing beside him and fighting. Whether he fails or succeeds is a different matter entirely, but I know Todo won’t let the others interfere in the process. That’s the scenario we should be hoping for.”
“What should we do in the meantime, then?” Tullia said. “How far are we from Itadori? If you take on Todo, we should be able to deal with the others. Tell me which way so that we can get to him as fast as possible! That would be the best case scenario, right?”
“No,” you said. It was a split-second decision, but you made it and hoped that your instinct was correct. This time, it was Tullia’s turn to give you an aghast look.
“You’re seriously going to leave him to die?” she said.
“Of course not,” you said. “I can guarantee you that Megumi and Panda, at least, have come to similar conclusions as us, just based on how peaceful the forest is at the moment. Megumi won’t leave Itadori to fight on his own, that’s for sure, and Maki will definitely support him in that. Panda always makes good judgments, so I’m certain he’ll split up their group, with him and, if I had to guess, Nobara heading to Itadori’s defense, while Toge, the higher ranked of the group, continues to search for the second grade curse. Just like we will.”
“With Megumi, Maki, Panda, and Nobara there to help him, they should be able to handle things,” Tullia agreed. “But why should we focus on the event? Doesn’t it kind of take a backseat to something like this?”
“Normally, I’d agree. Even now, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to seemingly abandon him like this; however, leaving him behind and searching for the target is actually the best thing we can do at this point. Think about it: once we kill that curse, the challenge is over. If we do it quickly enough, then they won’t even get the chance to kill Itadori. Furthermore, we can then confer with Gojo about our suspicions and figure out what to do next,” you said.
“I get it now!” Tullia said. “No wonder you’re a Grade 1 sorcerer, Y/N. You’ve got this stuff figured out.”
“Thank you. It’s really just practice, though — you remember how many missions I had to go on as a Semi-Grade 1? Those were the worst few months of my life. I had to get better at reading and adapting to situations in the moment just because if I didn’t, people would die,” you said, shuddering at just the memory of how many odd missions you had been sent on. You thought it was a little cruel that the majority of difficult assignments were actually given to Semi-Grade 1 sorcerers instead of the Grade 1s, but it made sense; after all, once a sorcerer attained the rank of Grade 1, they had weight behind their name. They could make decisions and choose what they did and didn’t do, with the power and status to reinforce those decisions, but the same could not be said for Semi-Grade 1 sorcerers, who were chasing their recommendations and therefore willingly accepted whichever missions came their way.
“I’ll be on your level one day,” she said. “You can count on it.”
“I believe you,” you said. “I don’t think you’re too far off, either. If you do well enough during this event, you’ll definitely get your initial recommendations in.”
“Right! Then let’s get the curse exorcised!” she said, clenching her fist, determination blazing in her eyes. You patted her on the shoulder.
“Yes,” you said. “Let’s do that.”
Just then, a shout resounded through the entire forest. Birds flew out of the trees in alarm, and it genuinely reverberated in your bones from its depth and volume, though you knew that its origin was somewhere far from where you currently were. Though it definitely sounded like something concerning, the voice made you grin widely.
“Wrong!”
“What was that?” Tullia said, literally jumping in surprise. You laughed.
“That,” you said, some of your worry easing at the development, “was Todo. He’s taken Itadori under his wing, alright; it seems like he’ll be okay for now, as long as he can keep up with Todo’s nonsense.”
“Great!” Tullia said. “Though, doesn’t that mean that the rest of the Kyoto students—?”
“—are free to do as we please? Yes, it’s true,” a musical voice said. Before Tullia could react, there was a shrill whistle piercing the air, and then a rope slithered through the underbrush, wrapping around her ankles and pulling her down to the ground.
“Elakshi,” you greeted, tossing a needle at the rope which whipped towards you. Though it wasn’t a human, it was still an object imbued with cursed energy, much like Momo’s broom had been. Therefore, Dissection worked perfectly fine on it, showing its weak spots and allowing you to destroy the entire thing in one hit.
“Hello, Y/N, Tullia,” she said, revealing herself from where she had been hiding in the trees. In the meantime and along with much angered muttering, Tullia managed to untie the rope from around her ankle, staggering to her feet and stomping on it irritation before kicking it away.
“We both know you aren’t a match for me,” you said. “So why’d they send you after us? I thought for sure that Noritoshi would come himself.”
“Noritoshi is otherwise preoccupied,” Elakshi said evenly. You noticed that in the time she had been in Kyoto, her accent had grown thinner, though it would likely completely leave her. This made you strangely proud of her. If her accent was the only thing she had left of who she had been once and where had come from, then you hoped she never got rid of it, that she clung onto it forever.
“Y/N, can you just beat her up?” Tullia complained. Elakshi whistled again, a low, sweet tone. The rope reared up at Tullia, but this time she was prepared, punching it out of the way in disdain. It fell to the ground once more, but Elakshi did not bother with it, instead returning her attention to me.
“What you said is indeed correct. There is no world in which I can beat you. Even Noritoshi would struggle. In this moment, in the situation we are in, you seem to be the strongest sorcerer participating in the event. You, Toge Inumaki, and Aoi Todo: those are the three that we are the most wary of,” she said.
“So Todo isn’t allied with you all,” you said. “I knew he wouldn’t be.”
“Todo isn’t a person who allies with anyone, but he also won’t fight us without reason. As long as we stay out of his way, he’s not an issue. That leaves you and Inumaki as our biggest concerns for the purpose of this event. We spent a long time thinking of ways to counter the two of you, but eventually, we figured it out,” she said.
“And what would said counters be?” Tullia snapped from the background. Elakshi rolled her eyes, whistling again at the rope, which once again tried to go after Tullia. This time, though, Tullia took a shot of bleach before grabbing the rope and ripping it in half. It wilted in her hands, and she smugly threw it into a nearby bush, brushing her hands off against her pants.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss such confidential information, but rest assured, they definitely exist,” Elakshi said.
“It has something to do with you. There’s a reason why you came instead of Noritoshi,” you guessed. She hummed in thought before shrugging mysteriously.
“Yes and no. There’s a reason it was me and not one of the others, but it could’ve been Noritoshi if he chose it to be like that. I was not jesting when I said that he was currently engaged with other tasks,” she said.
“Like killing Itadori?” Tullia guessed. This time, Elakshi did not send the rope after her just for daring to speak; instead, she pressed her lips together.
“Todo is the one handling Itadori. The person whom Noritoshi is concerned with is different, but that’s not anything that the two of you need to focus on at the moment,” she said.
“What should we focus on, then? You just seem to be talking a lot at the moment, so what’s the big deal?” Tullia said. Elakshi pinched the bridge of her nose.
“I’ll stop talking then,” she said. “Since you’re so opposed, how about I whistle instead? Would that please you more?”
“Not really,” Tullia said. “But — shit!”
Ropes descended upon the two of you, shooting out from the tree branches, rising up from the grass, wriggling out from under Elakshi’s uniform. It was like a swarm, ropes swirling everywhere and battering at you while Elakshi continued to whistle in the background, an eerie tune that grated on your nerves.
You brandished your needles, but to your surprise, most of the ropes flew past you. The ones that tried to wrap around your limbs were quickly dealt with, bursting into smithereens and then raining down on the grass like the dying embers of a fire. However, the majority of them were concentrated on Tullia, and when the storm finally ceased, all of the ropes now where Elakshi wanted them, you realized why she had targeted Tullia instead of you: Tullia didn’t have a method to completely destroy the ropes the way you did, especially not so many at once. She had clearly managed to rip apart a few of them, but they had remained under Elakshi’s control, and the result was that Tullia was totally restrained, with something resembling a noose hanging around her neck.
“If you don’t drop your needles right now, I’ll tighten it,” Elakshi said. “She’ll die.”
“You can’t kill during the exchange event,” you reminded her. She stared at you blankly.
“Don’t put me in the position to, and I won’t,” she said. You ground your teeth. Would your needles be faster than Elakshi’s whistle? Most definitely, and even if they weren’t, Tullia would probably not be choked for long enough to actually kill her before you destroyed the rope. She’d likely suffer from some injuries, but Composition would be enough to take care of those, so it was a risk worth taking. You had just about decided to throw the needles anyways when you were interrupted by Tullia clearing her throat.
“You don’t have to do that, Y/N,” she said. “You’re already a Grade 1 sorcerer, right? There’s no need for you to play the hero and save me. Let me take care of the situation; I want to look good so I can get a promotion, after all!”
“You’re fully restrained,” Elakshi said, obviously unamused. “What can you even do at this point? It would be in your best interest to ask me not to kill you or to beg Y/N to save you.”
“Those are the kind of options that a sorcerer who doesn’t aim for Grade 1 status would take! But that’s not who I am. I’m a person that’s planning to receive my initial recommendations after this event!” Tullia said.
“It doesn’t matter who you are or aren’t,” Elakshi said. “You can’t do anything. Accept your defeat.”
“This idea came to me earlier,” Tullia said. “After seeing Itadori. Did you know they call Sukuna the King of Poisons, too? I remembered that after looking at him, and it made me think…aren’t I like that, too?”
“What do you mean?” Elakshi said. The corners of Tullia’s mouth curled upwards, but the expression she was donning could not in any world be considered a smile. Biting your lip, you tucked your needles away and bowed your head at her in acknowledgement. If she wanted it this badly, and if she was really so confident that she could beat Elakshi, then it’d be unfair of you to take the chance from her.
“I used to think that the poison I drank was converted directly into cursed energy, but now I don’t believe that that’s the case. For me, poison is a stimulant, something that drives my body’s cursed energy production into overdrive. It can’t harm me for that reason,” she said.
“Get on with it,” Elakshi said. It was clear that she wanted to tighten the noose and be done with the affair, but then she’d have to contend with you, and that was a fight she wasn’t willing to risk, even with the knowledge of whatever weakness of yours that the Kyoto students had discovered.
“That doesn’t mean it leaves me, though,” Tullia said. “It lingers in my body. Again, it doesn’t harm me, but don’t you think that it’d harm someone else? Something else?”
Elakshi’s eyes widened, and she extended her hand as if to stop Tullia. Belatedly, she remembered to whistle, and it was a high-pitched, panicked sound, but it didn’t matter. Tullia had already bit down on her lip, and blood began to flow from her mouth, first in little droplets and then all at once, streaming down her chin and sizzling when it landed on the ropes, reacting with their latent cursed energy and eating away at them until they dissolved into nothingness, leaving Tullia entirely free to move once more.
“No,” Elakshi whispered, now entirely defenseless and facing off against not one but two fully armed sorcerers. “No!”
She whistled again, and the pieces of rope Tullia had discarded in the bush earlier slunk out from it. You prepared to defend yourself, as did Tullia, but it seemed that this time, you two were not the target of the ropes — Elakshi herself was.
“What are you doing?” you said in alarm as she began to choke, the ropes growing tighter and tighter around her neck. “Elakshi, what are you doing to yourself?”
“Seeing if Noritoshi was right,” she wheezed out, coughing dryly from a lack of oxygen. You and Tullia could only watch in horror as she cut off her own air supply until eventually, her eyes rolled back in her head and she collapsed, the ropes falling limp beside her.
“What the hell?” Tullia said. “Why did she do that?”
“I don’t know,” you said. “I’m trying to think, but I genuinely can’t understand why she’d choose to do such a thing.”
“Maybe she just wanted to go out on her own terms instead of ours. I guess it doesn’t matter; if she’s out, she’s out. Do we just leave her here and move on?” Tullia said.
“Let’s heal her first. Neck injuries are no joke, and she should be dazed enough that I can paralyze her with a needle before she thinks to fight back,” you said. “Oh, also, nice job with the blood thing! That was really clever, though I am a little confused. Why doesn’t your blood react with everything like that? Your handkerchiefs, your clothes, why don’t any of those dissolve like those ropes did?”
“It was a wager that I made,” Tullia said. “I didn’t explain it fully. The lingering poison in my bloodstream is closer to cursed energy than anything, as an after-effect of encountering my cursed technique, so I bet that it only reacts to things that also have cursed energy, and even then, only when they were actively using cursed energy — so, like, a sorcerer wouldn’t be impacted unless they were in the immediate process of using their technique or something. I guess my bet paid off!”
“I’d say so. That was definitely good thinking, Tullia, congratulations,” you said. She gave you a thumbs up.
“Thanks! Alright, if you’re planning on using Composition on her, then just know that I’ll be weaker for a bit. It’ll be my second time lending you my cursed energy with not so long in between the instances, so even though I can drink poison to replenish myself, it’ll probably still leave me drained for a bit,” she said.
“I don’t detect any curses or sorcerers in the vicinity, so we should be okay. Once I’ve healed and paralyzed Elakshi, we just have to exorcise the target curse. It won’t be hard for me, so I’ll get it done and then buy you pizza while you relax and recover in bed,” you said.
“Okay, sounds like a plan,” Tullia said, sitting criss-cross on the ground and motioning towards Elakshi. “Whenever you’re ready.”
You knelt by the fallen sorcerer, rolling your shoulders in preparation and then once again seeking out Tullia’s cursed energy. It was there in an instant, and you swallowed before scanning over Elakshi’s body, focusing especially on her throat.
“Composition,” you said. There was a thud as Tullia hit the ground; you must’ve stolen more energy than you had originally anticipated, or maybe she was just that spent. You vowed to heal Elakshi as quickly as possible and set out to do just that, but you soon realized something was wrong: for some reason, despite the fact that you had literally watched her choke herself to unconsciousness, your technique was insisting that there was nothing wrong with her.
A twitch of Elakshi’s lips was all the warning you got before her eyes flew open and she whistled with an ear splitting intensity. The ropes she had choked herself with — no, feigned choking herself with — moved too fast for the eye to see, and by the time you thought to react, they were already wrapped around your hands, binding them together behind your back, your needles out of reach.
“You bluffed,” you said. “That whole thing was just an act.”
“Of course,” she said. “I’m not the sacrificial type anymore. It only worked because we knew you so well, though; at any rate, I was hoping you’d be paired up with that other Zenin girl, but I guess that in a pinch, Tullia and I work.”
“What do you mean? Are you talking about my weakness or whatever?” you said, struggling against your bonds, though it was in vain.
“You haven’t figured it out yet? Well, I can hardly blame you. People tend to be blinder when it comes to recognizing their own flaws,” she said. “Say, do you think I’ll be recommended for promotion now, too? I’ve restrained a Grade 1 sorcerer. I think that’s pretty promotion worthy.”
“I’m going to tell Gojo to levitate outside of your window without his blindfold tonight,” you muttered rebelliously. “I hope you stare into his absurdly blue eyes and feel true fear.”
“Let her go!” Tullia said, though she was obviously a little woozy, stumbling as she ran towards Elakshi.
“Sit down,” you said to her. “You need to recover. I might be out for the count, but you can still fight if you drink some poison and let yourself rest.”
“That’s true, she is still a threat,” Elakshi said, looking at Tullia before clicking her tongue. “It’s fine, though. She won’t recover in time. As long as you’re no longer a viable player, Y/N, Kyoto will win.”
You went to argue in defense of your classmates, but just then, a dark veil began to creep over the sky. You furrowed your brow, giving Elakshi a worried look. She was staring at the sky, obviously just as confused as you were.
“As someone who participated in the event last year, I can say with full confidence that that’s not supposed to be there,” you said.
“Who could possibly be putting down a veil at this moment?” Elakshi said.
“I know it seems counterintuitive, but you have to let me go now. I don’t know what this whole veil thing is about, but if you have me restrained like this, then you’re seriously jeopardizing everybody in the forest. If someone has hijacked the event, then I need to get to Todo and coordinate a plan to take them out,” you said. You thought it might take more convincing, but Elakshi was sensible enough to let her ropes fall away in an instant, leaving you free to move around once again. You flexed your wrists before looking up at the sky, your mind working overtime to figure out what the likely explanation was.
Like a punch to your stomach, you felt an enormously malevolent presence enter the area of the veil. There was only one type of being that emitted that kind of aura: the disaster curses that you and Gojo had encountered. Your nails dug into the soft skin of your palm, forming crescent moons in the skin, and you shifted from foot to foot at the development.
It had to be the work of the spy. They must’ve informed the curses that you all would be alone in the forest like this, away from the safety of the teachers’ protection. Gojo was all of the way in the faculty building, which meant that he might not even know what was happening — you weren’t sure if Mei Mei’s crows worked through veils, so there was a real chance that he was in the dark. That meant that this was the ideal moment for the curses to strike, and it also supported your earlier assessment.
“Elakshi,” you said. “Take Tullia and get out of here. Forget about the event, just get out of the veil and take her to Ieri if possible.”
“What about you?” she said.
“Whoever put this veil up is working with special-grade curses, one of which is inside the veil at this very moment. Because of the veil, it’s not a guarantee that the faculty knows what’s going on, which means that as of this moment, Todo and I are the highest ranked sorcerers aware of what’s happening. That means it’s my responsibility to take care of everyone. I have to hold this curse off until help can arrive,” you said.
“By help, do you mean Gojo?” Elakshi said, at first trying to get Tullia to lean against her but then giving up and picking her up, carrying her bridal style.
“Yes, he’s the only one who can certainly deal with this,” you said.
“I’ll try to reach him first, then,” she said.
“Sounds like a plan. Be safe. Avoid combat at all costs; this is not an opponent you can fight alone and win against,” you said.
“Understood. You be safe, too,” she said. “Don’t let your weakness make you lose again.”
“I’ll do my best,” you said, even though you still couldn’t understand what that weakness could possibly be. There was no time for further chitchat, though. Without another second to waste, the two of you took off in opposite directions, her towards the exit of the forest and you towards the river where you sensed Megumi facing off against the special grade curse.
It wasn’t the volcano-headed one, that was for sure, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t powerful. And was Megumi fighting it alone? No, there was no way he was. Maki was definitely with him, but you just couldn’t sense her due to her lack of cursed energy. She wouldn’t have abandoned Megumi, and she was fine. She had to be fine. There was no way she wasn’t.
Still, the mere chance that she might not be was enough to push you further, faster, until you were bursting out of the forest and skidding in the slick mud of the riverbank. Both Maki and Megumi did not even notice your arrival, so focused were they on fighting the enormous humanoid curse with the branches for eyes, but the tension left you as you saw that Maki was alright.
The curse must have been the one Gojo and Itadori had encountered the other day, the one who had saved the volcano-head at the last minute. It hadn’t attacked them, only run away with its accomplice, but that only meant that it was theoretically capable of anything, that none of you were aware of what the extent of its skills and techniques were. Maki and Megumi had the upper hand for now, but how long would that last? And everyone was moving so fast that there was no way you could throw a needle, for fear of accidentally hitting one of your allies instead of the curse.
You could not hesitate, though. Even if hand-to-hand combat wasn’t your area of proficiency, you still had to try. You were the Grade 1 sorcerer; you were the one responsible for the lives of your classmates. Todo was nowhere to be found, which meant that it was really up to you. You were not allowed to let any of the others fall before you, especially not her. Especially not your best friend.
There was no one single explanation for it, at least not one that was immediately evident. Maybe Megumi faltered having to use an unfamiliar weapon, or maybe it was the splash of your boots in the current that caught them off guard; either way, for a moment, the two of them were distracted, and in that moment, the curse struck. Strange bud-like growths blossomed in Megumi’s torso, ripping his stomach open and cackling amongst themselves as they did so. He collapsed, and you inhaled, about to run towards him when you suddenly realized something — the curse wasn’t poised to deal a finishing blow to him anymore. Instead, it’s focus was on something — someone else.
“I was hoping you’d be paired up with that other Zenin girl.”
“My needles. My friendship with Maki. Those are mine.”
“The next time you mention my friends — the next time you even dare to say Maki’s name — I will aim my needle a little lower, and I will not miss.”
“Well, I love her. She is the reason that I am the person I am.”
Why had Elakshi said that? What did it all mean? Why were you thinking about these things now? What had Noritoshi and Elakshi comprehended about you that even you had not yet? Because there was something you were missing. It was right in front of you, but you could not understand it yet, nor did you have the time to, because that curse, it was about to attack — it was about to attack —
“Don’t let your weakness make you lose again.”
What was your biggest weakness?
“Maki!” you cried out, wrapping your arms around her shoulders as you shielded her body with your own, knocking her out of the way of the assault. The curse’s branch pierced your back, gouging a hole into it before retracting in victory as you fell to the ground at Maki’s feet.
“Y/N?” she breathed. “Y/N, what are you — hey, don’t you touch her again! Let go of her!”
A root sprouted from the ground, wrapping around you and ripping you away from where Maki had been about to pick you up. Suspending you in midair, the curse regarded you carefully, batting Maki away with a different root as it did so.
“Are you the one that Jogo met? There’s a different air to you than there was to the other two,” it said.
“Y/N!” Megumi said, coughing up blood as he tried to stand. You knew he wanted to protect you, you knew Maki wanted to protect you, but they weren’t strong enough. Both of them were beaten down already, tired off from holding off the curse for so long, but you didn’t blame the two for it. They had done the best they could. In fact, they had done better than anyone could’ve expected them to do.
“It’s alright,” you said, even as your vision began to swim, the pain of your wound and the subsequent blood loss causing your mind to grow blurry. Tullia was exhausted already, so you couldn’t call upon Composition at the current moment, which meant you couldn’t heal yourself, but it was fine. “Megumi. Maki. It’s okay.”
“What do you mean?” Megumi said.
“I’m not the only Grade 1 sorcerer around,” you said. “I think it’s just about time for my rival to make his appearance.”
As if on cue, there was a great crash, the force of which sent the curse reeling backwards. In the ensuing chaos, hidden by the waves of water that were created from the impact, you were dimly aware of your body being snatched from the curse’s grip and cradled in a pair of bulky arms.
“Sorry for the delay,” Todo said, so gentle with you despite how rough his exterior seemed. “Poor Y/N, always getting hurt like this! Don’t worry. My best friend and I will avenge you!”
“Best…friend?” you mumbled. “Never mind. Listen, this thing is a special grade.”
“You think I can’t handle it because of that?” he said derisively.
“No, just be careful,” you said, your head lolling against his shoulder. “Don’t die or anything, okay?”
“Well, if it’s my most trusted advisor and dearest rival asking for that kind of favor, then I can’t say no!” Todo said. “Panda! Take these three and get them out of here. According to Nishimiya’s report, the veil is an anti-Satoru-Gojo veil, so the rest of us can come and go as we please.”
“I’m on it!” Panda said, slinging Megumi over his shoulder, prompting a groan out of him. He went to do the same to Maki, but she shook her head.
“I can walk,” she said. “I’ll take her.”
“Are you sure?” Panda said. “You look tired out.”
“It’s fine,” Maki insisted. “She’s only even like that because she took the blow for me. It’s my fault, so I’ll be the one to take her back.”
“If you say so,” Panda said. Then you were being deposited into another, more slender embrace, and you knew even with your eyes drooping closed that it was Maki’s.
“Maki,” you said. “Maki, I miss you.”
“I miss you too, idiot,” she said. “Why’d you have to go and be all dramatic about it, though, huh? And why aren’t you healing yourself?”
“Tullia’s…unconscious. Can’t draw on her cursed energy when it’s so depleted,” you said, and even though every word hurt, you kept talking, because it was Maki, because you’d take all the pain in the world to keep talking to her.
“I see,” Maki said. “And how’d that end up happening?”
She was trying to ensure you stayed awake. She must’ve been afraid that if you went to sleep, you might not ever wake up again. You didn’t think the injury was that serious, but it must’ve looked like that, with so much blood everywhere and the wound so deep.
“Elakshi,” you said. “D’you know she figured out my weakness? Her and Noritoshi. I don’t even know what it is myself, though.”
“It’s that you’re shitty at hand to hand combat. How many times do I have to kick your ass until you understand that?” she said. “I bet if you trained with me more often, you wouldn’t be like this right now.”
“Maybe not,” you said. “I’m really tired, Maki.”
“I get it,” she said. “Yeah, me too. Can you stay awake for just a little bit longer? We’re almost there.”
“Don’t know,” you said. “Don’t think so.”
“Okay,” she said. “I’ll watch over you if that’s the case. You can rest, Y/N. You’ve done what you needed to do.”
With Maki’s permission, sleep claimed you all-too-easily, though it was fitful and uneasy, like you couldn’t quite rest yet, like your mind had been jostled and was trying its best to recover. Even the familiar scent of her laundry detergent wasn’t enough to soothe you, and it was only once you were being placed onto the cold surface of a hospital bed that you were able to wake up.
“Mama?” you said. Nothing was in focus, but there was a woman at your side, and even though it should’ve been your father and his Reverse Cursed Technique that you sought out, it was your mother who you hoped was there. Your mother, who you had not called mama since you were a child; even if she couldn’t do anything, you wanted her there.
“No,” the woman said. “Your parents didn’t come to the event, Y/N, remember? It’s me, Ieri. We’ve called the healers of the L/N clan to come work on the rest of the students, but it might be a bit until they get here. I’m healing you and Tullia first in the hopes that you can help me in the meantime.”
“Oh,” you said, and though you had nothing against Ieri, you couldn’t help but feel disappointed. “Gojo? Where is — where is Gojo?”
“He’s trying to get Todo and Itadori out of the veil,” Ieri said. “I’m sorry. It’s just us two.”
A tear trickled down your cheek, and then another, and another. Ieri was silent; for a while, you thought she might be ignoring you, which you would not blame her for doing. Her job was only to heal you, nothing more but nothing less, either.
Yet she was your teacher, too. You didn’t think she would’ve done it for anyone else, but for you, for the Reverse Cursed Technique user that she had helped train herself, she healed with only one hand, doubling the pain and the effort it would require, doubling the strain she took upon her.
With the other, she held yours and squeezed.

↱ cursed animal ↰
➘ summary : panda isn’t the only animal at jujutsu technical college
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With ears that perked up at the slightest sound and a tail that swayed rhythmically, (Y/N) moved with a grace that belied her animalistic features. She was accustomed to the curious glances and occasional whispers that followed her, but she had also found a group of friends who accepted her for who she was, cursed animal and all.
Her friends were members of the Kyoto school, known for their formidable skills and strong teamwork. Panda, Maki, and Toge were among the first to look beyond (Y/N)'s appearance and see the person within.
As the group sat together during a break between classes, Panda's curious eyes sparkled as he looked at (Y/N). "You know, you're pretty unique, (Y/N). Not every cursed spirit has your level of... human-ness."
Maki gave Panda a pointed look. "Don't be rude."
(Y/N) chuckled, her tail swishing behind her. "It's okay, Panda. I know I'm not your typical cursed spirit."
Toge, who communicated through a series of hand signals, chimed in with a smile, "You're our friend, (Y/N). That's all that matters."
As the conversation continued, (Y/N) felt a sense of belonging that she had rarely experienced before. Her friends were like-minded individuals who had faced their own challenges and prejudices. Despite their differences, they had formed a bond that went beyond appearances and abilities.
Later that day, (Y/N) found herself in a training session with her friends. Each of them showcased their unique jujutsu skills, ranging from Panda's incredible strength to Maki's weapon mastery. (Y/N)'s abilities were less overt, a blend of agility, speed, and an uncanny connection to the natural world around her.
Toge's eyes lit up as he saw (Y/N) maneuver gracefully through a series of dodges and counterattacks. He signed to her, "You're amazing, (Y/N)."
She grinned back, her movements fluid and confident. "You're not too bad yourself, Toge."
After the training session, the group sat together, catching their breath. Panda let out a satisfied sigh. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
Maki nodded, a rare smile gracing her lips. "Yeah, we do."
As the sun began to set, (Y/N) looked around at her friends, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. Despite the challenges they faced as jujutsu sorcerers, they had found solace and support in each other's company. It was an unlikely bond forged in the fires of adversity, a testament to the power of friendship that transcended appearances and differences.
And as they headed back to their dorms, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel that she was exactly where she was meant to be – among friends who accepted her fully, cursed animal traits and all.
where (y/n) encounters a group of students from another class who mock and make fun of her because of her cursed animal appearance. She tries to ignore them at first, but their taunts become increasingly hurtful. Just as she's about to reach her breaking point, her friends from the Kyoto school step in to defend her.
As (Y/N) made her way through the courtyard, she couldn't help but feel a pang of self-consciousness. She had always been used to the occasional stares and whispers, but today was different. A group of students from another class had taken it upon themselves to make her the subject of their mockery.
Their laughter and taunts followed her, like venomous darts aimed at her heart. She clenched her fists, trying to maintain her composure. She knew that reacting would only fuel their cruelty, so she kept her head down and continued walking, willing herself to ignore them.
But the comments grew louder, more hurtful, and impossible to ignore. Words like "freak" and "abomination" cut through the air, each one like a stab to her confidence. She felt her eyes well up with tears, but she refused to let them fall.
Just as she felt like she was about to reach her breaking point, a strong presence intervened. Panda, Maki, and Toge stepped forward, their expressions a mixture of anger and determination. Panda's voice carried across the courtyard, cutting through the taunts like a blade.
"Enough! That's not how we treat each other here."
Maki's gaze was icy as she spoke, her voice firm. "Mocking someone for their appearance shows nothing but your own ignorance."
Toge signed with a stern expression, his fingers punctuating his words with intensity. "Kindness and respect are the true signs of strength."
The group of mockers seemed taken aback by the sudden intervention. The atmosphere shifted, and the courtyard fell into a tense silence. (Y/N) blinked back her tears, her heart warming at the sight of her friends standing up for her.
Panda stepped closer to (Y/N), offering a reassuring smile. "You don't have to listen to their garbage, (Y/N). We're here for you."
Maki's gaze was unwavering as she added, "You're part of our team, and no one has the right to belittle you."
Toge signed with a determined expression, his hands forming words that spoke volumes. "You're not alone, (Y/N). We stand together."
As the words sank in, (Y/N)'s trembling subsided. The pain of the mocking words was still there, but it was overshadowed by the support and strength radiating from her friends. She looked at them, a mixture of gratitude and determination in her eyes.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice shaky but genuine.
Panda grinned, his eyes filled with warmth. "Anytime, (Y/N). We've got your back."
Maki's stern expression softened into a small smile. "Remember, their words say more about them than they do about you."
Toge signed with a reassuring gesture, his fingers spelling out a message of unity. "We're a team, (Y/N), and that means standing up for each other."
With her friends by her side, (Y/N) felt a renewed sense of confidence. The hurtful taunts may have stung, but the strength of their bond was a shield against the negativity. As they walked away, the courtyard seemed a little brighter, a testament to the power of true friendship in the face of adversity.

Clouds Hidden Beneath The Sun - [Yuta Okkotsu x Reader]
Chapter 2: I had doubts about many things, and I wanted to solve you first
January 2018
“The last thing I remember is my father bringing me here, and failing to run away. He mentioned a terrorist attack, and didn’t disclose where my mother was..I think he killed her,” Y/n used the handkerchief Gojo had given her to wipe some of the blood from her hands. “And I’m not sure if all this blood is mine. There are no open wounds on my body, but everywhere hurts.”
“Your father murdered a few higher ups in cold blood, and your mother went missing. They are both suspected to have co-operated with Suguru in the terrorist attack on Kyoto and Tokyo.” Gojo wasn’t unnerved in the slightest. Y/n could not decide if it was irritating or reassuring. “Oh, and it’s been a week since you went missing.”
“So, will I be executed?”
“What makes you think that?” He asked.
“Answer me.”
“Geez, you’re so pushy.” He sighed, “No.”
“I’m not an idiot. I know there’s consequences.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong, why should there be consequences for you?”
Y/n gave up, and turned on the radio to drown out the silence in the car. They were driving toward Tokyo. Most of the things in her house must have already been confiscated. There was nothing there for her to miss, anyway.
The dorms at Tokyo Jujutsu High weren’t very different from Kyoto. Y/n found her dorm room with ease, and waited until late night. No students would be around.
The first thing she did was take off her dirty clothes, and put them in a bag to burn later. She scoured every inch of her body until her skin turned red. Filthy water went down the drain. This much dirt and blood had never been caked onto her body before. It took a while to wash out and comb the knots from her hair.
She dried off her body, and looked closely in the mirror. What she disregarded earlier, as dirt, was actually a scar. It was a hideous array of lines that resembled wild vines around her neck. She grimaced, and checked the rest of her body for anything else. There was nothing.
Y/n’s body could barely move. Her body ached, but dread filled her thinking of what her mind would conjure when her eyelids shut. She put her phone to charge and left her dorm with the clothes she intended to burn. She took a tour across the school grounds until she arrived at a clearing on the outskirts of the school. She threw the bag into the snow, and reached into her pocket for a lighter. She sat on the untouched snow, and watched as it burned.
From this hill, she overlooked most of the High School grounds. It wasn’t until then that Y/n understood how pissed she was. Her father, who had pushed her so hard to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Who pressured her to upkeep the family legacy every second she breathed, went and ruined everything on his own.
Her mother had gone missing, and Y/n was unsure if that meant she also deserted. And there was the question of what had happened to her in the last week, and why she remembers nothing. Y/n’s head hurt as she considered all the responsibilities she now had.
She took a deep breath, and laid down in the snow to stare up at the sky. She took off her gloves, and relished in the sting of the frost against her bare fingers. First, she’d try to understand her father, Mr. Fujino.
“Class, we have a new student!” Gojo announced as they entered the room.
“I’m Y/n Fujino, it is nice to meet you all.”
“I’m Panda, that’s Inumaki Toge.”
“Cod roe.”
“I already know Toge, we’re practically besties!” Y/n grinned.
“Salmon.”
“But this is my first time meeting a Mutated Cursed Corpse, can I touch you?”
“Sure.”
“Wow, you feel like a real Panda!” She ran her hands across his fur, “You are principal Yaga’s creation, so I shouldn’t be surprised.”
“Long time no see, I hope you haven’t been slacking.” Maki smirked.
“You sound confident, maybe you’ll actually beat me next time we spar.” There was a moment of tension in the air before both girls chuckled, “I missed you, Maki-roll!” They embraced each other briefly.
There was one more person for her to greet. “I remember you, Okkotsu, right?”
“It’s nice to meet you again, Y/n.” Okkotsu smiled brightly.
He noticed her staring at his uniform. She felt her cheeks burn, “You don’t stick out like a sore thumb anymore.”
“Yeah.” Neither of them knew what to say next. They just stared at each other, until Gojo cleared his throat.
“Fish flakes.”
“Awkward.” Panda whispered.
“You’’ll commence training as usual, but I have other matters to attend to.”
“Doesn’t make much of a difference,” Maki said. Panda hummed in agreement.
“You haven’t been able to beat Maki, have you?” Y/n mused as Okkotsu stood up from the ground after taking another loss.
“No, she’s insanely talented.”
“That is true,” she took his wooden sword, “I’ll take the opportunity to show off, then.”
“Don’t get so confident Y/n. ” Maki rubbed salt into his wounds.
Inumaki and Panda stopped what they were doing to watch with Yuta.
“It’s been a while since I used a sword, far too simple for my taste.” She got into an offensive stance. Maki did the same. For a moment, they both waited to see who would attack first.
Y/n started out strong with a feint, and follow up attack. Maki blocked it, and countered with her staff. Okkotsu was surprised his eyes managed to keep up with their altercation. Y/n’s form was amazing, you could tell she had years of experience behind her—so did Maki, but there was a certain grace to her movements. She was able to block things that weren’t even in her line of sight. The amount of power behind a single flick of her wrist—every movement was deliberate, while her strikes held precision and accuracy.
Okkotsu knew Y/n could hit harder and faster than this if she used her energy, he had been the recipient of those attacks. In a competition for just raw strength, the two sorcerers fought on equal footing. Their expressions were extremely focused as their blades clashed against each other, but there were smiles on both their lips.
One mistake from either side would mark a clear victory. Okkotsu felt himself shrinking as he realized the capability gap between the two girls and himself. He was pulled out of his thoughts as Y/n and Maki tumbled to the ground. Although Maki was on top of Y/n, her back was pressed to her due Y/n’s blade at her throat and legs restricting her. They both panted heavily before laughter spilled from their lips.
“You’ve gotten much stronger, Maki-bae!” Y/n grinned, “I barely kept up with you.”
“You have as well,” Maki grinned, “but I’ll definitely win next time.”
“Now I see how Okkotsu lost to Y/n.” Panda said.
“Tuna.”
Y/n had to avoid doing anything that raised eyebrows. She was being monitored throughout the day. There was not a moment when a pair of hidden eyes were not on her. The first week at Tokyo was used to gain a closer understanding of the layout. She usually asked Toge to show her around, guising it as the rekindling of a childhood friendship—which wasn’t entirely wrong. Still, they could only spend so much time together without it being suspicious.
Half way into the second week, Gojo spoke with her after training, “I compromised with the higher ups. You’ll be doing missions again but always with a partner.”
“What are you hiding from me?”
“Nothing you need to know about,” He teased.
“It’s serious enough for me to have a buddy system, apparently.”
“Don’t worry your little head about it,” He patted her head. “Yuta’s your partner for today, teach him a thing or two, will ya?”
“Isn’t that your job?!” Y/n exclaimed, but Gojo already started to walk away.
“I’ll go find Okkotsu!”
Darkness veiled the town as night descended. Missions have become more daunting after dispelling Rika. There was no longer an immovable force protecting him from any signs of danger, so he was often paired with Y/n. Okkotsu could barely see two feet in front of him and was reluctant to stray too far away from Y/n. He was more compelled to hold onto her but he would want to have some shred of dignity if he made it out of this situation alive.
There’s a grade 1 spirit in a village past the outskirts of Tokyo, essentially the countryside so the higher ups believe you two can dispel it. If anything unexpected happens, run—or give me a call….actually just do both but don’t die.” Gojo had warned them.
Gojo hasn’t confronted her about sneaking out at night, and it unnerved Y/n. She was even more surprised when he started giving her missions again. It seems that she lost her solo mission privileges, though. She was always paired up with a classmate, usually Okkotsu. She didn’t mind. Besides, The monsters in Tokyo were often on the same skill level as Kyoto.
The village was about the size of a shopping mall. Except, the houses were dilapidated and filthy, windows had been broken and the glass scattered on the poorly paved pathway, crunching beneath their feet. That and their breathing was the only thing that could be heard, the village was completely silent and not even the wind howled.
“No signs of life….there aren’t even any animals,” Y/n stopped in her tracks.
“There aren’t any residuals either,” Okkotsu added.
“Stay close to me and on guard. Worst comes to worst I’ll use my domain expansion,” Y/n said as she began walking. Okkotsu matched her pace so they were almost shoulder to shoulder. He's been partnered with her long enough to remember the program—stay close to her but not enough so that you get comfortable.
“There’s footprints now…something’s been here recently,” Okkotsu said.
“Do you see that too?” Y/n gestured ahead of them and Okkotsu hummed in approval, seeing the faint light ahead.
As they continued walking, the fog became thinner and the houses were in slightly better condition, with all windows and doors intact. Okkotsu swiftly unsheathed his sword in response to catching movement in the corner of his eyes. Y/n stopped in her tracks too and her attention snapped to the object of his attention. A black cat scurried across their path and Okkotsu’s expression softened as a low chuckle escaped Y/n.
“Being scared doesn’t justify slaughtering a defenseless animal,” Y/n was visibly amused as she continued walking.
“Black cats crossing your path is bad luck anyways,” Okkotsu mumbled, “sorry, I hate this atmosphere.”
“I’m no Rika, but you won’t be dying in my company. I assure you.”
“I know, I just dislike being dead weight,” Okkotsu said.
“Is that how you feel about being partnered with me?” Y/n smirked, “It’s not everyday I get a tall male jujutsu sorcerer clinging to me like a lost puppy. I couldn’t imagine a better moral support.”
“Is that how you feel about being partnered with me?” Okkotsu rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
“Yeah, for the most part.” She affirmed, “....I know sorcery has been frustrating for you recently but this is just your opportunity to experiment with your cursed technique. You’ll be a special grade again in no time.”
“What makes you say that?” He asked.
“Intuition,” Y/n paused, “It might feel you’re back at square one right now but anyone who’s been observing you can tell….I’ve been spending too much time with eccentrics. I’m not a mentor or anything of the sort so I’m not in the position to be giving advice.”
“Neither is Gojo-sensei, really.” Y/n’s lips tugged upwards at that. He felt almost prideful that Y/n smiled at his joke.
“I’m also just a student trying to cultivate their Jujutsu sorcery. I’m not half as strong as Gojo yet, how could my opinion carry more weight than anyone else's?”
‘I admire you,’ Okkotsu’s face burned red at the thoughts that were on the tip of his tongue, “I admire your ambitions and personality. You’re one of the coolest people I know. I mean, have you seen yourself? Almost everything you do is breathtaking.”
“Oh,” there was a slight waiver to her voice, Okkotsu assumed she was trying not to laugh at him. He nervously glanced at her to see a flustered expression on her face, ‘that’s new.’
He regretted his words immensely, wishing he stuck with the simple three words instead of digging a deeper hole for himself. ‘Great. Now she’s uncomfortable.’ Okkotsu dropped the topic, choosing not to embarrass the both of them any further, “I see someone.”
“You sure it’s not another feline…” Y/n raised her lantern as she saw the figure standing on the front porch. It was an old woman, shaking and tightly gripping a stained blanket.
“My child…please, help me find my child.” She wailed.
Y/n and Okkotsu shared a glance before approaching. The woman’s eyes were shadowed by her hair as she stared down at the cloth between her hands.
“Miss, what happened?” Okkotsu spoke.
“My child…don’t ask.” She dropped the blanket abruptly before slowly looking up.
Y/n’s expression hardened as she raised the lantern higher, to view the lady’s face. Or rather, the two mutilated holes where her eyes should be and a smooth surface, as if her nose and mouth were never present. Okkotsu and Y/n visibly cringed and gripped their weapons tightly.
“DON’T ASK!” she said louder, liquid began to leak out of her eyes.
“Step back, don’t let anything touch you.” Y/n whispered.
“DONT ASK! DONT ASK! DONT ASK!” She shrieked, digging her fingers into her scalp that bled profusely.
Y/n’s eyes darted around their surroundings, preparing for any surprise attacks until the woman finally quieted and dropped to the ground. An atrocious smell filled their noses before the figure’s flesh and bone melted.
“Was that a human?” Okkotsu asked.
“....I think so,” Y/n continued walking, “this could be the work of a curse user. I’ll contact Gojo before we lose the signal.”
“Hello?” he answered immediately.
“Gojo-sensei, this could be the work of a curse user rather than…” She began, but the call instantly went to static and cut off, “Someone interfered with the call, this should be expected. At Least he knows something’s up.”
“So it wants to make sure we’re trapped….” Okkotsu sighed heavily.
“I don’t have any plans moving forward. If something goes wrong, you should run. At Least one of us will make it out alive.”
“You used a lot of words to call me a coward,” Okkotsu began walking this time.
Y/n wanted to tease, but she found it difficult to do so when someone else’s life was her responsibility, “I didn’t mean it like that.”
They walked in silence, and the words she spoke weighed heavily on her. These were the things Jujutsu Sorcerers were expected to face. Even if they were both terrified, telling the other to run away would only add insult to injury.
“Sorcerers never die without regrets,” She said. “I should’ve known better than telling you to run earlier.”
“I wouldn’t forgive myself if I let you die here.”
“I know,” She shot him an apologetic expression, “This person’s cursed energy is extremely familiar and I need to know why. Do you feel it?”
“No, not at all.” He paused, and Y/n noticed the slight trembling of his hand—he was still shaken up from that strange encounter. “What happens if we end up having to kill real people?” Okkotsu spoke.
“Either we kill them or something more gruesome does. It’s all about perspective, really. Isn’t the curse user we're looking for a human being? Nobody of importance gave us the right to kill him, so does one, two or five more people really make a difference?’ That’s what I’ve been telling myself.”
“Do you believe that?”
“Sometimes.”
Silence hung over the both of them for the better as they got closer to the light source. Inaudible whispers and the cackling of fire could be heard when they arrived in front of a large, stone manor. Okkotsu knew that the Jujutsu world was already corrupt—I mean, they were willing to execute a 16 year old boy without a second thought. Okkotsu didn’t mind it at the time, but most people would consider that ethically wrong. He realized, when fear is at play, it’s difficult to be concerned about moral high ground.
“That thing earlier wasn't human because of the strange patterns in her cursed energy. The way it began moving was too rapid, as if it was tearing through the very fiber of her being. It’s not much to go off of but until we are sure….”
“Let’s just worry about understanding the situation first,” Okkotsu reassured, “I know you’re trying your best. If we’re equals like you implied earlier, then trust me rather than comfort me.”
In the distance, they could see a group of figures huddled together. They all held small lamps, and it illuminated their faces when they turned to survey the two sorcerers.
“Hello, are you visitors?” A man dressed in rags asked.
“Are you people, the residents?” Okkotsu asked.
“Yes, what business do you outsiders have here?”
“We were wandering, and got lost. Do you have any idea where we are?” Y/n’s brows furrowed in distress, “Me, and my friend need to return home before our parents realize we’re gone.”
They all took multiple steps back, and huddled back together to whisper among themselves. Yuta and Y/n shared a glance with each other–they had both seen it. Their inverted feet—a trait of mutated corpses. Okkotsu unsheathed his sword, and began to cut them down before Y/n did. She started to follow suit, but the ground beneath her feet sank.
Y/n arose in a new area. She was inside an old, small shrine. A chill went down her spine. Her eyes closely scanned her surroundings. The only source of light was the moonlight which shone through the massive hole in the ceiling. She felt an arm wrap around her face, but it was different. She grabbed the hand, and it vanished between her fingers. Her palm opened again to reveal a Wisteria flower. She dragged her finger against her blade to create a shallow cut, and licked it.
“Domain Expansion: Hysteria.” The facade before her eyes cracked, and she turned to the perpetrator. “You thought that would work on me?”
The perpetrator was a woman with a slim face, and short black hair, but those dark empty eyes were painstakingly familiar. This woman was tall, withered and bony. The similarities to her father were eerie.
“Is that how you greet your aunt?” She grinned, “I just wanted to test you, that's all.”
“My parents never mentioned you.”
“I figured they wouldn't tell you about me, your mother always hated me.” She took a step forward, “Call me Mina.”
“Is that related to your decision to become a curse user?” Y/n took another step forward, refusing to show weakness to a supposed relative. “This town was ruined by you, wasn’t it?”
“Non-curse users will do anything to spite their enemies, I won’t carry their blame.” Her mouth twitched, “Your mother also avoided that reality, but my father finally accepted it. I’d hate to see you continue down this pointless path”
Y/n didn’t want to hear anymore. Her blades materialized in her hand, and she appeared behind the curse user. She made two long lacerations on her back, and followed up with a kick. A loud crack sounded when Mina stumbled forward.
“Never speak of my parents,” Y/n lunged forward to skewer her, but Mina disintegrated and appeared on the other side of the room. She threw her head back, and a grating noise echoed throughout the room. Her bones were repairing themselves, Y/n realized.
“Stop trying to end this quickly, it’s our first meeting after so many years.” Her face twitched, “I want to enjoy it.”
Y/n heard Okkotsu’s footsteps in the distance, but her eyes focused on the strange curse user before her. Her heart beat was loud in her ears, and hands drenched in sweat. Y/n was scared, and could not afford to let this woman escape. The familiar energy sensed earlier, stemmed from this woman. Even if she lied about being her aunt, there was an undeniable connection between this woman and her family.
‘And earlier…she put me inside an illusion.’ Y/n scoffed, “I’ll admit that you’re powerful.”
“I’m your blood, of course I am.” She laughed, “It seems you're inclined to listen now.”
“Are you okay?” Y/n glanced at Okkotsu.
He hummed, “Are you?” She hummed.
“I guess mourning isn’t enough to stop you from finding a boy toy.”
“My mother isn’t confirmed to be dead.”
She tilted her head to the side, “Is that so?”
“Are you the one responsible for their disappearance?”
“You really don’t remember?”
“Remember what?” Y/n’s patience was running thin.
“Y/n, you killed your parents.”
“Don’t listen to her, she’s just trying to waste time.” Yuta interrupted.
He was right. Even if this woman was related to her father, her goal right now was to finish this mission. Y/n and Yuta glanced at each other before starting their coordinated assault. They worked together smoothly, covering each other's blind spots and maneuvering around each other to back Mina into a corner. Occasionally, one of them would feint, and give the other a chance to land a heavy blow. But, no matter how much damage they dealt, the woman just regenerated.
“I’m sorry lovebirds, but I’m going to put an end to this fight quickly.” She grinned again. Her eyes trained on Yuta, and the floor beneath him sank. Y/n tried to grab him, but his form passed through her hand.
Y/n frantically cut her arm again. This time, the cut was frantic and deeper than intended. She smeared the blood against her lips as the woman cackled.
“Domain Expansion!” Y/n countered.
In an instant, splotches of various shades of gray, blue and black exploded before her eyes. Time was suspended. In the distance, she saw Yuta entering a window of emptiness, similar to the one she felt on the last day she saw her father. In less than a second, she grabbed Yuta and banished him from this space. They couldn’t both escape, the emptiness demanded something. Demanded her—and the scar on her throat burned as it consumed her.
Y/n woke up in a dark room. The only light source were the torches hung onto the four corners of the dirty stone walls. Her hands were bound behind her back, and in the dark, a figure stood.
“Father, why are you doing this?” Her throat was raw.
He held an iron rod in his hand that glowed red as he approached Fayvia.
“I’ve spent my whole life protecting powerless humans, but why? I married another sorcerer, and even had a child. Most of my days are spent repetitively slaying these curses because it’s more interesting than the world those defenseless fools built for themselves.”
He came into the light that shone down onto her. She felt disgusted. His eyes were not normal. His pupils morphed into something ugly, like an entanglement of vines. When he blinked, a similar pattern was carved into his eyelids. She didn’t register that the iron rod in his hand was a branding pipe until she yanked her head backwards, and pressed it flush against her neck. She choked on her scream, and tears spilled from her eyelids.
“With you, Y/n. I can put an end to it all.” Was the last thing she heard before losing consciousness.
She opened her eyes again. This time, it was her mother gently caressing her face. “Y/n, wake up.” Y/n was too terrified to say anything in response. The sting of her new scar was still present.
Her mother had cut her bonds away, “I don’t have much time left. Your father is trying to put a curse inside you. He is angry because I won’t let him.”
Her mother’s voice had a tremble of fear to it, and Y/n noticed the blood that soaked her clothes. “Mom-”
“Listen to me,” She held Y/n’s face again. “You will have to fight. Fight against your father, and the abomination he wants to put inside you, okay?”
Y/n nodded. She felt saddened, but couldn’t bring herself to cry. Not even when her mother went limp before her. Her attention was averted to the sound of hasty footsteps. She stood up, and saw her father entering back into the room. There were two pathways, and Y/n quickly got up, and ran in the opposite direction.
“Y/n!” Her father screamed, chasing behind her. The hallways twisted and turned like a labyrinth. There was no clear exit, but Y/n knew to keep moving—Her father would not catch her. This man had 3 times the fight experience–she had no chance in a head on fight.
As her fear grew, the pain in her body was consumed by something. Not by her own energy, but something akin to a parasite. Something that shouldn’t be there. She felt numb, and weak. She glanced behind her, but had to quickly drop to the ground, and avoid her father’s cursed technique. If it touched her, she’d be done for.
She caught up to her, and landed a kick in her stomach. Y/n flew into the stone wall. Her father grabbed her by the throat, and smashed her into the wall—for good measure. “After everything I’ve done for you, you refuse to return this one favor for me!”
He screamed at her. Y/n flinched. She was afraid to look her father in the eye, but there was nowhere for her to run. The scar on her neck started to burn again, and her father stumbled backwards. She slid onto the floor, blinded by a sheet of white.
Y/n woke up in a dark room. The only light source were the torches hung onto the four corners of the dirty stone walls. Her hands were bound behind her back, and in the dark, a figure stood. The moment replayed over and over again. Everytime, her mother would go limp, Y/n would run, and her father would eventually catch her. She wanted to give up the chase, and just let him catch her before even trying.
Y/n’s body was heavy as Okkotsu laid her on the ground, her head in his lap. Her skin was simmering, it felt as though his skin would be burnt if he held her longer. As her eyes slowly blinked open, Okkotsu saw the distressed expression on his face clearly. The girl was looking straight at him, but she could see nothing except hues of gold, brown, black and blue.
“Feel so weak….Yuta’s safe,” she croaked out.
“Y/n please, don’t give up now.” He frantically unbuttoned her jacket and mentally apologized to her, ‘If the burning begins from the core, then things should stop if I heal it fast enough…’
The idea was half-baked but it was the only thing that made sense at the moment. His hands pressed firmly onto Y/n’s abdomen and he focused on his own cursed energy. Half-baked was an understatement, Okkotsu had never performed a reversed-cursed technique after the day he freed Rika. Y/n’s body temperature was now dropping drastically and he couldn’t resist closing his eyes as dread entered his veins.
‘It’s too soon,’ Okkotsu’s heart almost stopped in his chest as his hands began to glow and tears blurred his vision, “I can’t let you go,”
Okkotsu continued to steadily pour his cursed energy into her. The advice she gave him rang in his ears, ‘A reversed curse technique isn’t like pouring rubbing alcohol on a wound. It’s extremely different when you’re trying to heal a person compared to quickly destroying a curse. When healing major wounds….it’s almost like an exchange for me. It’s not just pouring your energy into them. You have to absorb some of their negative energy into yours and recycle it before it goes back into their body, that’s the simplest way I can put it.  Of course, if you have too much negative energy yourself then one of the parties involved can die on the spot.’
In truth, Okkotsu had always considered Y/n to be dangerous. He saw her on a pedestal out of his reach. In the moment where he desperately tried to keep Y/n’s vitals stable, he finally saw her—another teenage sorcerer dealing with the consequences of the adults around her. He felt a deeper pull from the flow of cursed energy and he allowed it to tug.
“Specialized reverse cursed technique,” He said.
While his cursed energy flowed through both their bodies like cold water. It brought a familiar feeling to him, the emptiness he felt for five years while being haunted by Rika. This was almost enough to disrupt his system entirely, but that wasn’t the energy he was looking for. His eyes shut tightly again as he focused. It felt like acid pouring into his veins as his energy enveloped it. It dissolved rather quickly, surprising Okkotsu enough to open his eyes and see Gojo-sensei standing a few feet away from them.
Gojo smirked, “she’s waking up.”
Y/n stirred slightly before opening her eyes and exhaling deeply. Her head still rested in Okkotsu’s lap when he smiled at her with a tear stained face. The words that she had intended to say died on her tongue and dissipated from her mind as she looked at him.

I was wondering if you take into account any details or trivia revealed from the official fanbook for the fic? Some interesting details that could affect Zenith of Stars there like:
- Gojo having taken Megumi to visit the Zenin clan at some point (this is how he met Maki and Mai in canon)
-Megumi already having a long career as a Jujutsu Sorcerer before enrolling in Jujutsu High but only because Gojo kept taking him out to missions rather than being officially called or assigned
-Rika came out of her accord rather than due to Yuta's doing and this is how Tokyo High managed to easily decimate Kyoto High during the 2017 Goodwill Event (the cleanup was hard)
- The Inumaki clan being outlaws in the Jujutsu World and its members are normally hunted down but Toge was spared due to his cursed speech ability
-Hakari temporarily transferring to Kyoto High during the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 because of his incident with one of the higher ups and being present at the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons
-Members of the Three Families not being required to attend Jujutsu High at all and only do so out of the individual's accord.
Hello! So I haven't read the fanbook, which means that various details will probably be a little jumbled in comparison. In zenith of stars, Fushiguro Megumi met Zenin Maki and Zenin Mai during Obon, so we're already too late on that front lol.
Megumi being familiar with missions prior to attending school is also a thing in zenith of stars. As of chapter 31/32 Megumi has already accompanied other sorcerers' missions, as stated in the text.
2017 Goodwill Event is still quite a ways off in the current timeline, no comment from me on Okkotsu Yuta and Orimoto Rika.
In zenith of stars, the Inumaki are acknowledged as a sorcery clan. Members were once hunted, but currently are not.
I believe JJK0 makes mention of third years and fourth years being assigned to Tokyo, while second years were stationed in Kyoto for the Night Parade event. Then I think at some point canon JJK mentions the then-second-now-currently-third-year students having gotten into a disagreement with higher ups in Kyoto.
So, to the best of my knowledge there wasn't a student transfer between schools. Hakari and Hoshi were suspended, but still considered to be affiliated with the Tokyo school as upperclassmen. No comment from me on how the events of 2017 will go in zenith of stars.
In zenith of stars not all sorcerers from sorcery clans attend the jujutsu schools. Many are trained internally. More on that in the future!

my fav flavor of inuokko is older (late 20s-30s) with a lot of regrets and bad memories but who have been together so long and know each other so well that they face all of it head on. there’s a few fics in this vein but i’ve never seen any older inok art!
anon thank you so much for putting older inuokko in my head. it unlocked a new department in my brainrot and i now have so many thoughts about them...
100% agree that older inuokko would have lots of regrets and bad memories, they've experienced all kinds of things in their 20s (and life in general) but it's mostly bad bc lbr the jujutsu world is not pretty and they did not have a kind childhood...but when they're together, it's easy to forget all the bad for just a bit.
Tumblr media
one day i'll have a character sheet for both of them (i am very invested in this)! will just post yuta for now bc im struggling with toge haha. thoughts below on how yuta is in his 30s plus some long story rambling bc i cannot be trusted with a keyboard and brainrot...
i'd like to think that yuta grows to be a lot more confident in his skin and becomes the best at looking after his friends as compared to the past when they've had to look out for him and reassure him more. he's not shy or hesitant in his actions at this age and a lot of people around like to say he would have been a great teacher at the school.
at one point (as a 3rd year perhaps) he entertained the thought of becoming a teacher, but the moment he had imagined his students dying, it was an instant no. he knew he wouldn't be able to handle it. it's hard enough that he has nightmares of his friends dying/being hurt sometimes. there's been a lot of close calls over the years. at this point of time, he and toge are both freelance sorcerers and no longer under the school, kinda like mei mei and yuki.
will expand on this in the future but it's due to something that happened and had to do with both the inumaki clan and the higher ups that made yuta swear to never return to the school ever again. he actually had to be stopped from destroying the school after shit hit the fan and that's where he got the scars he has now from. sure he could have healed them easily, but he wanted a physical reminder (he never wants to forget what his foolishness could cost him) of sorts. it's one of the events that i would say was significant to his character development.
they move to kyoto shortly after that. i haven't fully thought out toge's story at this point of time but as yuta is maturing and growing into the person he's always wished to become, toge is crumbling. he has a lot of repressed family trauma that he's always been good at locking away in his mind, but after recent events he just broke.
and of course yuta is there for toge, especially when the latter has been his pillar of strength since they became important to each other. unlike the past, he can read when toge needs space or when he needs someone by his side. over the years he's just been able to sense what toge needs like it's something natural to him.
at toge's lowest points, he reminds him of just how loved he is everyday, as much as he can through words and actions. specifically i think yuta is really good at non-sexual intimacy (pls look at the bottom right sketch)!
one thing that has never changed about yuta tho is that he'll still panic over small things like when maki or toge fall sick. for example when he hears from panda that she's down with a cold, he takes the next bullet train back to tokyo as though she's on her deathbed lmao.
overall i think he'd be pretty stable in his 30s but also it wouldn't take much to make him spiral and lose it ^^

THE afternoon sun bathed down on the buildings that sat up upon the hills looking down onto the Kamo River, paths alongside. The blue sky above was dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted in the gentle breeze above the city of Kyoto. Tourists and locals alike were out and about- many walking, cycling, and or relaxing on the banks of the river. Two girls in specific had gotten up early to begin their long walk to see different temples and end up sitting on a tiny hill where rocks went down to meet the water. They were enjoying their trip and no school, giggling about recent social media posts, etc.
It had been five days since they were attacked by a curse. Four days since Keiko was given the choice to join Jujutsu High. Three days since Aki's Grandma took the two to Kyoto. The friends didn't know how to talk about what happened that afternoon, when they saw each other for the first time after they just laid in Aki's bed watching television. No words could describe the schock and how they were trying to come to terms with how fast it happened.
Keiko's long black hair continued to whip into her hair as each time she'd laugh annoyed trying to tame it. Finally, she used a hairtie from her wrist to put it back; which she hated low ponytails. Aki was glued to her phone searching up things for them to do, where to shop, and pictures of Kyoto in other seasons.
"I wish we could come back in the spring, look at these pictures of when the cherry blossoms are fully blooming." Aki showed her the phone, where it showed pretty pink blossoms adorning the trees, sky and ground.
Keiko glanced around and back to the picture, she could only imagine how majestic it would be to experience that in real like than a picture. Few months earlier and they would be, "wow.. I mean we can during uni, we’ll have much more time.. hopefully."
"That's a great idea, I can’t wait."
"Let’s just pray rumors of uni being easier than high school are true."
"I know! Sort of an oversight there in my opinion to make high school more demanding." Keiko laughed, "I can't believe that's coming up... we’ve worked so hard."
"Don't even wanna think about it! Parents started getting all emotional lately." Aki groaned, "too much work, let's just not go. Convince your parents to let us mooch off them forever."
"I wish! But hey, if we hate University of Tyoko we can just transfer here." she thought back to Aki's grandma forcing them to do a small tour to get the girls thinking about university, "it's too close to home really.”
"Not like we knew your parents would suddenly let you leave town months after we decided.. though the six hours to get here was pretty lengthy.”
"I knowww but probably because we didn’t take the train." Keiko poked her.
"Ah true, but hey we really lucked out getting on the same dorm floor."
"Though I was gonna cry when we got the placement emails! If was smart of your grandma to have us email housing.” Keiko smiled.
"Literally! I swear if somehow fucking Emiko ended up in our building I’m dying."
"You still hate her?" she laughed at Aki's face of disgust,
"Always will!"
Keiko knew they’d be in different major taking different classes, around new people. They had their different hobbies and strengths in school and life. With Keiko having had private tutoring and being stuck at home, she found herself enjoying books on anything she could get her hands on. So suddenly math and science made sense to her as numbers just solved themselves, whereas Aki was torn between economics and teaching. Keiko had safety in her family life so leaving home seemed like it could be a great idea. Sometimes it felt like there wasn't much for her in Tokyo besides Aki; why stay? University was a touchy subject for a lot of students she felt. Keiko didn't necessarily have any strong emotions about it besides a mixture of laziness and excitement. Primary thankfulness to still have her best friend by her side.
A sudden VIBRATING snapped Keiko from her thoughts. She stumbled to reach into her purse to grab her phone.
"Oh?" Keiko murmured as she saw a text message from a number she didn't recognize.
"What's what?" Aki asked trying to see her friends phone screen,
"Text from an unknown number."
"Who!?"
"Inumaki.. forgot I gave him my number for a second." Keiko flushed red.
"What does it say?" Aki only knew the little about what Keiko told her- he'd saved them and he had been the most welcoming to her.
"Just saying that it's him."
"Oh, lame." Aki huffed, "you better tell me everything about this boy! I am gonna get you a boyfriend somehow,"
"Shut up, it's not like that! Lemme just respond," Keiko giggled shaking her head, knowing this she'd be spilling everything she knew about him to her.
4:55 pm
UNKNOWN: Hi it's Inumaki Toge:)
KEIKO: hi!! do u prefer to go by toge or inumaki? people seemed to call u by ur surname but i have to know what to put your contact as :)
UNKNOWN: Both is fine!
KEIKO: cool! also cool u texted
TOGE: So how are you doing?
KEIKO: well, i feel a lot better now knowing i'm not losing my mind or seeing things.
KEIKO: sorry I left abruptly btw...
KEIKO: Aki is okay, so i'm okay. we're in kyoto rn it's nice
TOGE: That city's nice! n glad you guys are okay. Injuries looked bad
TOGE: And you're good, sorry about Gojo
KEIKO: yeah, it's like all i see when i sleep now. and i am liking it here, much different than tokyo
KEIKO: and its k, i wasn't doing great
TOGE: Can I ask you something?
KEIKO: yeah sure
TOGE: Would you mind coming to visit when you're back?
KEIKO: uh oh did your teacher put you up to this
TOGE: Yes and no
KEIKO: i don't have much of a choice do i ? lol
TOGE: Not exactly, but I'll stay by you if you'd like.
KEIKO: that'd be nice. ur teacher's a little straightforward
TOGE: He's interesting. You'll also be meeting the principal too
KEIKO: oh great :/
TOGE: You'll be fine :)
"Sounds like they want to see me back at Jujutsu High." Keiko groaned as she figured there was no point in responding right now. She wished the conversation with Inumaki didn't go that direction, "yeah it's super pretty there and cool to learn about curses and what not I guess, but I just want to be left alone right now."
"Aw his texting seems cute, glad he cares about us." Aki proclaimed looking through the texts, "At least go to see this boy! And when have you been such a debbie-downer? This could be that adventure we wanted."
"Seems a little dangerous to me... and I guess I would like to see Toge again."
"Uh ohhh crush incoming!" Aki teased.
"Oh my god, no way, I don't even know him. I'm just glad someone's being nice over there it's weird." Keiko scrunched up her face to give Aki a playfully annoyed look. She put her phone back in her purse so her friend couldn't stare at the messages some more.
"Maybe I can meet him sometime."
"Of course! He saved us. I hope if I have to go back I can meet some other people, being stuck with Gojo will definitely have me running again."
Keiko knew that eventually she'd have to explain more to Aki. It was all on the tip of her tongue ready to spill out, she knew she'd be ready to talk soon. It was also obvious that Aki was itching to as well.
"God I am burning up, I need some more of that breeze," Keiko growned as she stretched her legs out more letting a soft groan out.
Keiko studied her friend's features with careful eyes as she felt more precious than normal. At times, Keiko only saw the 'unconcious and bloody' Aki when she looked at her. At first it startled her, made her stare because she didn't know what to say. But now, at least, she could push the dark thoughts from her mind and appreicate the fact she still had her best friend.
"Ready to go get some tea then?" The two had one more thing planned for the night- Ippodo Tea. It was located in a quiet neighborhood almost an hour from where they currently were. Aki had chosen to go shopping the last few days and stop at known food places, besides seeing Kyoto University the tea shop was the one place Keiko wanted to go. "We should catch the train to get there it'll get you out of the sun," Keiko continued excitedly, "did you know they celebrated three-hundred years last year? They opened in 1717."
"Three-hundred? That's insane... and you would know that,"
"I know." she rolled her eyes pretending not to hear that last part, "I heard their tea is the highest of quality, like top in the world. Literally so happy we're going. They do tastings so you can try different kinds. Finally get to make my own matcha," Keiko was practically drooling over the thought of fresh, high quality tea that would surpass what she made by a long shot.
"You know, you're cute when you get all excited about things!"
"Thanks," Keiko stuck out her tongue at Aki as she watched her friend bounce up to her feet, where she stood above Keiko with her hands on her hips, in a triumphant manner. She grinned down and said,
"Come on lets go slowpoke."
-
Maybe it was the fact neither had the experience of a trauma together, or separately that bled into the other's life to know how to handle it. They were still children in the eyes of society as a whole, but adult enough to choose paths that would take them to the rest of their lives. They shouldn't have been subjected to the evil that appeared in the alley that day, the curse that almost killed them and changed their trajectory forever. The mood was sullen between the two girls as they sipped their tea they so dutifully learnt to make and understand the history of. It was like dark, tear filled clouds hovered over their heads as their gazes evaded the others- like it was hitting them in the moment of silence.
"For the first time I haven't known how to talk about something with you." Keiko said, a solemn look in her eyes as she stared down at the half empty tea.
"I don't think we've been ready the last few days. Had to process, it's weird because it feels like it didn't happen. Like it was all a dream at this point."
"I feel that," Keiko replied, "but also you were definitely unconscious for the worst parts... not that I'm trying to minimize anything, I swear."
"I know." Aki wanted to reach across and grab her hands, try to console her but she felt frozen, "I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect or help you, or experience it too. I don't know what I'd do if I watched you almost die."
"It's not your fault. I'm okay, really. And I think the fact it was me who did something about it helps. Just the pure pain of losing you and even Kaito made something just... happen. I can't explain."
"I'm proud of you. And thankful we didn't die that's for sure."
"Me too and Aki, I have to tell you about when I was at Jujutsu High without you guys," Keiko took a deep breath as she talked about Gojo wanting her to join the school, figured she could be useful. And as she began to talk about her dad, her voice cracked. With a kind look from Aki she took a deep breath and continued. Keiko couldn't even believe her own words as she said "they're jujutsu sorcerers Aki... My dads one of their leaders or something. Gojo told me to be careful."
"Wow. I-I don't know what to say about that. Now you have some answers..."
"There's no way about any of it." Keiko knew it would be a dangerous denial for her to keep thinking that way; but, it was eating her up. For days she tried not thinking about it while they began their trip, but as things slowed down she had more time to think. Keiko never kept things from Aki like this so she could think, however family ties seemed like an okay thing to keep private as she tried to sift through everything she knew.
"Maybe you should consider joining Jujutsu High to some extent... what if you can really help people? Find out the truth about your parents?"
Keiko frowned as she was suddenly deep in thought. What Aki asked was a good question- she literally saved her friends. What if more people would need her? There was a nagging feeling in her that Gojo or Jujutsu High wouldn't be leaving her alone anytime soon. Keiko didn't want people dying but she also didn't know if she could be the one to help. She didn't think she was fit to take on something like that. But she always wanted to help. Make a difference. However, the world of curses seemed dangerous, not anything she signed up for or thought that would be how she'd help.
"Don't you think it's weird my parents suddenly gave me freedom. How my mom's been so strange towards me...." her voice grew quieter with each world she spoke. In her mind it seemed absurde, questions her parents; but, as she said it aloud she realized maybe it wasn't so crazy after all, "what if they didn't want me knowing about this? And not to protect me..."
"I-" Aki stopped herself before she said anything. It was a complicated situation for two girls aged seventeen, normally she'd have something to say if it was about a boy. Boys and school were always the biggest issues in their lives, mostly.
"I feel stupid, confused Aki. I feel like I can't stop thinking about it unless we're engrossed doing something. At night I've been laying awake while you're fast asleep. It's terrible."
"I'm so sorry... that jujutsu doctor gave Kaito and I someone's number if we needed to talk. I think I'm going to take them up, maybe we could go together. Or I think you should go back to Jujutsu High."
"Or we can pretend like we didn't almost die?" Keiko laughed with a tinge of bitterness.
"That feels like it would be easier..."
Aki watched her friend with sad eyes as she reached across the table grabbing her hands in her own. She knew things may not get any better if they tried to run. She also knew that everything happening was well out of Keiko's comfort zome, she seemed to be struggling this whole trip, seeming absent-minded, "I promise we'll get through this. Together and with Kaito too, he barely knew us and this happened. Us three need each other at the least even if we decide we want nothing to do with the jujutsu sorcerers."

Wicked Games: Nine
“You’re dislocated, don’t be like that.
And you smile when you dive in, like you’re never coming back.
So hold my body; yeah, hold my breath.
See your face when I black out, I’m never coming back”
- Fear of the Water by SYML
Tumblr media
You sit on the bleachers facing the track outdoors, the wind lightly blowing your hair around as you watch the Tokyo students prepare for the Kyoto event.
You hadn’t heard back from Satoru in weeks since everything was left in such a mess. You were mostly trying not to think about it, focusing on your work, the remaining first years, and the second years who had returned.
Your gaze follows the training students below - Nobara with Panda and Toge, Megumi discussing something with Maki. You can’t help the way it reminds you of old times.
The sound of metal rings into the air, two staffs colliding as the two boys trained together. Satoru, quick, confident, and observant. Suguru a quiet storm, working in a defensive mode to counter Satoru’s offensive approach.
Shoko is perched against the chain link fence beside you, cigarette between her lips. She seems bored.
Suguru sneaks a peak in your direction and you give him a shy smile, Satoru successfully managing to land a blow. Suguru’s eyes return to his friend, a mischievous smirk and cold look to his eyes.
They continue fighting until eventually they tire out, returning to you and your friend. Suguru stops beside you, pulling you into his chest as he kisses you.
“Hmm, hey,” he smiles down at you.
“Hey yourself,” you smile up at him. You guys had been dating for the better part of a year now, your romance having started almost as soon as you joined the technical school. Since then it had been a whirlwind romance in your equally dangerous lives.
“Get a room,” Shoko sighs as she smirks at you in mock disgust, Satoru looking at the ground.
Suguru, with his arms wrapped around your waist and your back flushed to his chest, leans into your space nuzzling his face into your neck.
“Not a bad idea-”
You blush as you lean away from his lips.
“You need a shower,” you note, your eyes falling on Satoru, his own hair sticking to his forehead. “Both of you.”
Suguru kisses your neck before pulling away as he notices your teacher, Yaga, moving in your direction. Satoru looks over his shoulder, noticing his professor.
“What did you two do now?” you asked with a laugh, earning a smirk from both boys.
You shake your head, letting the memory fade away. Thinking about Suguru was still painful. You felt most of the time like you were mourning him. As Satoru had said - the man you knew died the day he left the school, even when you prayed it wasn’t true. And then there was Satoru. Whatever was going on between the two of you now, it was messy and confusing. He had always been more affectionate with you, but you had always chalked it up to Satoru being Satoru. So what if there was more to it and you had missed it all these years because you were stuck in the past? Even then, could you honestly entertain the idea of Satoru?
You run a hand through your hair, looking down at the notebook in your lap. You were getting ahead of yourself and there were bigger priorities right now. Whatever your feelings were, you had to set them aside so you could focus on your work and the students. Right now, you were one of the primary lines of defense against Suguru if he came back, which meant you couldn’t let the past control you.
The students continue training throughout the day and you guide them along, until finally the end of the day comes and you walk Megumi back to his room. It had been awhile since you had spoken to him - the events of Yuji’s death seemed to stir something in him as he disappeared shortly after to “take care of something”. You had noticed it relatively early, but didn’t pry him on the matter. You knew how Megumi was and if he wanted to talk about it, then he would.
“How have you been?” you asked.
“I’m alright,” Megumi replies after a moment of silence.
You reach his room and you stop him before he disappears.
“Y’know, it’s fine to not be,” you give a small, reassuring smile.
Megumi gives a stiff nod, clearly uncomfortable with talking about his emotions - even in your company, someone he has known for so long. You decide not to press him further on it, letting him know if he does want to talk to you and then waving goodbye to him just as your phone rings.
You catch yourself hoping it’s Satoru, his unwarranted long period of silence with you having you on edge. Even when he was away, Satoru always reached out with phone calls and text messages. Instead, Nanami’s name filters across the screen. You're surprised to see him calling you, as you haven’t heard much from him since he’s been bouncing between missions after Yuji’s death.
“I’ve got a case I need you on,” he spoke into the phone.
He sounded distracted, a bit gruff. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the state of his voice, but you found yourself nodding before realizing he couldn’t see you. Nanami didn’t often ask for help - he was a component and skilled sorcerer - which meant he had a seriously dangerous case.
“Yeah, of course. I’ll inform Yaga of my leave, make sure someone is watching the students,” you said, walking to your office for your belongings - namely your weapons and thigh holster. “Text me your location and I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
***
When you met with Nanami it was late in the evening, finding him setting up base in some hotel. You had knocked on his room’s door and after another round of knocks, he answered.
You were surprised by the sight in front of you - a shirtless Nanami with a bloodied bandage to his side. Your eyes went wide, moving into the space as he shut the door behind you.
“Nanami,” you murmured, gingerly moving your fingers to his exposed stomach, inspecting the bandages. Your skin lightly grazed his and you didn’t miss the unmistakable tension from his abs in the action.
“I’ll be fine,” he said stoically, but as you moved to inspect the damage further, he flinched into your touch, causing you to give a doubtful glare, instructing him to sit on the bed while you care for the wound.
“What happened?” You were moving around the bathroom, surprised to find it spotless aside from the bloody towel in the trash-bin. It was a lot of blood. You grimaced, finding some medical supplies and fresh towels.
“Ran into some issues with a curse-user,” he noted, watching as you returned to the space and knelt in front of him. He couldn’t help but observe as your eyebrows knitted together in concentration, face holding a slight frown from his state.
“I take it this is the special-grade you mentioned?” You don’t glance up from your work, focusing on unwrapping his bandage as you begin to clean the wound with some antiseptic and gauze. He hisses a bit and you mumble a sorry. “I don’t quite have Shoko’s techniques mastered to properly care for others.”
He shakes his head as if he doesn’t mind. “It is. I’ve been tracking him for a better part of a week - only managed to catch up to him today.”
You glance up at him from under your lashes as you begin to apply a new bandage, his side finally not bleeding as much. “Well I hope you managed to give him Hell,” you say with a soft smile. His own lip twitches into a small smile before you look back down at your work. “Is this too tight?”
“No, it’s fine thank you,” he replies, his own voice becoming more clear as he looks away from you. “I did do some damage - but the report indicated a first-grade. Somehow he’s gotten more powerful since then.”
You frown as you stand, discarding the used material and putting away the supplies. When you return you lean against the wall, arms crossed, as Nanami begins to button-up his shirt that had previously been on the bed.
“Is it just me or do curses and curse-users seem to be getting more bold? First Sukuna, the incident at the detention center, Suguru, and now this,” you motion to his frame as you bite your lip in thought. “Somethings going on.”
Nanami is quiet, contemplating your words. He hasn’t missed the warning signs either - the change in atmosphere regarding curses. Something was off and the sooner it was discovered, the better.
You push off the wall, motioning to the door. “But, we aren’t going to make some serious headway until tomorrow morning - give your body some time to heal and rest. I’ll be staying in the room across the hall.”
He looks like he’d like to refute, but backs down as his side stings with pain. He nods and wishes you goodnight as you leave..
***
You’re investigating the decaying hallway of the abandoned asylum, Nanami having informed you of the case this morning as you made your way to the building.
From what you gathered, the curse-user could alter your perception of reality and was highly skilled in combat. As Nanami described, they would trap you within the confines of your mind and unleash a fury of attacks. An attack on the mind and body. And that was what he currently knew - meaning there was likely more information still to be learned regarding their abilities. Aside from that, they had been killing citizens within the area and murdering sorcerers who came looking. Essentially, they were a serial killer personified with supernatural abilities. Great.
“Why does it always have to be desolate buildings,” you murmur as Nanami walks a few feet ahead of you, eyes trained to spot the curse energy. Truth be told, it wasn’t hard to miss. There was a crazy amount in the area - the problem was it wasn’t all from the curse user as many curses had appeared to take up residence here. Most of the ones you came across were easy enough to deal with, a flick of your wrist or Nanami’s blade had them shatter out of existence.
“How are you?” you ask as you scurry up to his side. You never liked this side of your work - it’s why you taught. Meanwhile, Satoru and even Suguru - when you were together - believed you had potential for so much more. Even if that was the case, you still held back.
Nanami glances at you briefly before his gaze falls to his wound. You had cleaned and mended him once more before leaving.
“It’s better,” he replied, a tight line across his lips. He was still in pain, but he had a job to perform and he’d prefer completing it.
You go to question him when you hear movement in the distance. A woman emerges, chuckling as she eyes you both. She’s shockingly beautiful with mysterious eyes, curves, and a young face. Honestly, she looked to be no more than 20.
“Back for more, pretty boy?” She grinned and then her eyes fleeted to you, a pout on her lips. “Aww, you brought a friend. I don’t know if I should be jealous or happy to have another plaything.”
She perches her arms behind her back, tracing the hallway towards you each. “Really, your looks are sooo lost on their side,” she smirked to Nanami, sneering at the mention of the sorcerers. Her eyes flicker towards you again, apprising you - your weapons on your thigh holster, your cursed energy, and the school button you had sewn into your fighting gear.
“Mmm, you’re powerful,” she licks her lips. “I can almost taste your curse energy. Delicious.”
You go to move into a fighting position but find yourself paralyzed - Nanami also unable to budge. Well shit. She wags her finger as she approaches you each, hand grazing along the back of Nanami’s shoulders before moving to you, hands combing through your hair. She stops in front of you each, leaning in close: “Ah, ah, ah. I’m not done yet.” She pecks you each on the lips, annoyance and slight panic on each of your features. Leaning into your ear, she whispers: “Go to sleep…”
Your eyelids begin to flutter close, finding yourself collapsing on the ground as you see Nanami being dragged away.
***
“Hey sleepyhead,” your eyes slowly blink open as you're greeted with a soft kiss, warm eyes looking down at you.
You smile up, taking in the sharp features of the man in front of you. “How long was I asleep?”
He rolls away from you, glancing at the alarm clock on his side of the bed before folding his body over yours’ again, face hovering over your own. “It’s almost noon.” He brushes his nose against yours’ before pulling away, hair tickling your face as you laugh lightly from the action. “Hmm, love that smile.” He leans forward, pecking your lips once more.
You comb your fingers through his hair like you’ve done so many times before, always that one piece in front of his eyes. “Love you Suguru,” you murmur.
He blushes slightly, a content smirk on his lips before he pulls away with a pout from you. He laughs as he rolls off the bed and you take in his naked body - muscular back, toned limbs, cute butt - as he walks into the bathroom to shower.
A content sigh falls from your lips as you glance at the nightstand beside you - a photo of you and Suguru at your wedding. He was dressed in formal traditional robes, you wore an ivory modern kimono with a Western twist. You looked happy and in love, but you found yourself frowning. You don’t remember the day, but you knew it was your wedding. You slowly sit up in the bed, slipping out of the covers as you wrap yourself in a short robe. You remembered that robe - the silk one from your home. You bought it at a flea market a few years back. You look around the room some more - the warmth of the sun filtering through the sheer curtains that covered the expansive windows overlooking the countryside outside. More photos of Suguru and you were throughout the room: a photostrip from your first date when you dragged him into a photobooth, photos of your engagement party, and then finally one photo that stuck out to you - a sonogram. Your hand with your wedding band drifted down to your stomach, now noticing the small bump there. You were growing confused and frightened now - many of these memories you didn’t recall making. And where were the photos you took while at school with your friends?
Suddenly Suguru emerges from the bathroom, hair down and body damp with a towel wrapped around his waist. He notices your expression, eyes furrowing together in confusion.
“Sweetheart?”
You take a small step back. This was wrong. This felt wrong.
“Y/n?” Suguru is moving closer to you now and suddenly his actions remind you of something else - something real. Wet body - wet hair. Your apartment as he moved towards you, asking about Sukuna. His cruelty and the love hidden behind his eyes. Suddenly a crack of thunder and lighting goes outside, despite there being no rain and only sun. Your eyes flicker towards the distraction briefly, your gaze falling back to Suguru is now suddenly in front of you - in your space.
He looks different - the tenderness behind his eyes are gone, a dark look in his eyes as he gives you a condescending look. His once normal arm looks scarred and damaged and before you know it, it’s grabbing you by the back of your hair and forcing you to look up at him from an uncomfortable angle.
“Let go of me,” you hiss.
He’s repeating the words from the forest. “You want me, want this.”
“This isn’t real,” you snap.
He gives you one last smirk, seemingly proud of you for figuring it out. “Bingo.”
You startle awake from the cold floor, head aching and heart pounding from the dream you had just experienced. You quickly inspected yourself - seemingly fine of any wounds - before quickly getting up as you realized the absence of Nanami. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
You're running down the hallway quickly, tracking the cursed energy of the curse-user until finally you come across the woman straddling over a barely conscious Nanami. He’s bloody and bruised, but you can tell he’s still breathing - barely.
She looks to you from where she is. “You woke up sooner than I anticipated.”
“Get away from him,” you warned, careful steps moving in her direction.
She gives you a bored look before gazing back down at Nanami, finger running down the side of his chiseled jaw. “He’s so handsome,” she said, ignoring you. “Why didn’t you dream of him?” You freeze momentarily, a wicked smirk on her lips. “Don’t get me wrong, Suguru is equally handsome. I met him once - I would know,” you don’t miss the suggestive tone to her voice, “But him,” her fingers trace his lips, “So pretty.”
She looks at you again, genuine curiosity in her eyes. “Would you like to know what he dreamed? ”
“I said get away from him.”
“Ugh, you're no fun,” she moves to stand. “He dreamed of you, y’know. You were somewhere warm - a beach in the tropics and let me tell you-” she fans herself “-there is so much more behind that button-up.”
You don’t know whether to believe her or not, deciding it's safer to assume she is lying. No time to get caught up in the semantics.
“I’m only going to warn you once,” your hand moves towards your throwing knife, pulling it out. “Stop this. Stop hurting people.”
“Or what?” she scoffs. She looks back down at Nanami, inspecting her work. “It’s so much fun pulling people apart.” She looks giddy in her words as she finds herself being pulled back to him to continue her attack.
You don’t give her time, quickly throwing the blade in your hand as it makes contact with her cheek, a deep cut forming as blood begins to trickle down it. Her eyes move to yours, surprise registering as it returns to you.
“Cursed weapon?”
“Made especially for me.”
She stands, squaring off against you as she pulls out her own dual-edged twin daggers as she gives you a menacing look. “You're really going to wish you didn’t do that.”
She rushes you then, her movements quick and agile as she moves around the space until finally your blocking one another’s moves, metal hitting metal, and blood being drawn from you each. She manages to jut the blade out just right, cutting through the material of your clothes and slicing your leg deeply. Your leg nearly buckles but you remain standing, waiting for your opening until finally you grab her wrist. Then you notice Nanami over her shoulder and you realize his chest is no longer rising or falling. Rage, fear, and sadness suddenly fill you.
She falls to her knees almost immediately, panic crossing her features as both of her weapons fall to the ground. A reddish-orange color begins to circle around you from your cursed energy being activated, the pupils in your eyes matching the shade as it appears like a ring of blazing fire.
“Vitality depletion,” your words are cold and sharp and she begins to squirm in your hold, fear taking hold. The color in her features begin to fade, cheeks growing hollow and skin dry. Tears prick her eyes.
“Please,” she begs hoarsely.
“I thought it was fun pulling people apart,” you snap, repeating her words to her. You can’t stop thinking of Nanami. He couldn’t be dead. He just couldn’t. Too many people were dying. First Yuji, then possibly him. And Satoru was nowhere to be seen…
Too many people are dying. The thought shakes you to your core as the girl before continues to whimper and plead, growing more and more weak by the second. Suguru crosses your mind - the unmistakable cold smirk - so proud of your abilities. Do it, he had murmured in those woods.
You pulled your hand away quickly and the girl collapsed to the ground, unconscious but breathing. The goal had been to trap her - not kill her. Your breathing heavy from your own actions, shocked from your lack of control.
You rush over to Nanami, wincing from the pain in your leg as you collapse onto the ground beside him. You look over his body frantically before resting your hands on his chest, doing the only thing you could think of: CPR.
You pumped his chest and then performed mouth-to-mouth several times, hoping to kickstart his heart. He still didn’t move, tears now falling down your cheeks.
“Please,” you cried, head falling to his chest.
Suddenly you felt a warm energy emitting from your fingertips and you glanced at your hands confused, a soft golden glow encompassing them. Your eyebrows furrowed together just as the energy began to die down, but you were distracted by the sound of Nanami coughing below you. Your eyes went wide, leaning forward until your cradled his head and pressed a sloppy kiss to his forehead, crying happily as he gave you a startled look. You looked like a mess - blood, sweat, tears, and snot on your face.
“What?”
You hugged him. “Thank God,” you murmured into his ear.
He groaned, slowly sitting up as you followed him. “Y/n? What happened?” He looked down at his chest, the blood covering his shirt - your own injuries - and then the passed out curse-user behind you. He goes to stand up on shaky legs, helping you up.
You're grinning like an idiot at him. “I don’t know - one minute you were just-”
“Just what?” He’s inspecting himself now - his injuries all but gone.
“Dead,” you gulp, “I just, I just touched you and there was a light and then you woke up.”
“I thought you couldn’t use reverse technique on others,” he stated.
“I can’t - I didn’t,” you look down at your hands. “I’m not sure what that was.”
He gives you a worried look before his gaze falls back to the curse-user. “Well, you can use techniques on yourself. I’ll get her taken care of - you mend yourself.”
You watch Nanami move towards her, taking out a cursed object presumably to be used to transport her back to the school to be judged by the higher ups and established clan where she would undoubtedly be either executed or imprisoned. Looking back down at yourself, you begin to mend your leg, wincing from the pain as a scar forms over the cut. You mend the other injuries, not quite as serious as your leg, before moving towards Nanami who is on the phone with someone. He hangs up just as you approach him.
“Hot date?” you joke, trying to ignore the words from earlier on Nanami’s dream and the strange look he is giving you since you used whatever that technique was.
“Another case,” he replied simply, your eyebrows furrowing together. Was it really safe for him to do another one so soon? “Come on, let’s get her back.”
“Right, no overtime,” you mumble, moving with him and the girl towards the exit.
You look over your shoulder one last time, a chill running down your spine, the feeling as if someone or something was watching you. Nanami stopped near the doors, turning to you.
“You alright?” he asked, inspecting you closely.
“I-” you go to speak, inspecting the decrepit lobby in front of you, shaking your head as you look back at him. “Nevermind. Let’s go.”
Mahito emerged from the wall as he watched your figure retreat with the blond, a crazed smile and laugh erupting from him. What fun,” he thought before skipping away into the darkness.

Expanding a bit more on the art school AU:
Yea, Yuuji’s hoodies and jackets are a bit on the pricier side, but considering that they’re good quality and that it’s mostly the work of one passionate highschooler it’s worth it. And yea, since I see Inumaki also being a second year in the textile class as well he’d definetly help Yuuji. I feel like he’d have a lot more experience with the machines used in the fashion Industry and would let Yuuji borrow them from time to time. And have him pay in rice balls. (Side note on Toge: he’s more into techwear and street fashion. In this au, he still has pretty limited speech but more in the form of a speech impediment and or selective mutism, so I feel like he’d try to be innovative and make accessories that can help him communicate more efficiently, some kind of jewelry maybe)
I feel like he first started making clothes as gifts for others. The first thing he made was a scarf Nanami still wears.(because guess what he’s his adoptive dad in this au and YES they’re all happy)
A small side story idea I had: Nobara gets an order from an acquaintance’s acquaintance for a custom made detailed desk. Small problem: the customer wants it done is about 5 days. A desk like that would take weeks. Since it’s a really good deal she can’t refuse winds up going kinda insane for a few days, not sleeping, only carving and crafting, probably calling Megumi and Maki(who’s also in woodwork but is studying to be a blacksmith on the side) to help her out on certain portions. She ends up getting paid well and just collapses in her bed for like 2 days afterwards(maki had to come into her room a few times to check if she’s still alive)
The shibuya incident of this universe is probably a big art fair/convention that has everyone on a serious time crunch (they’re fighting for their lives trying to get everything done and doing their best to not collapse at the convention hall)
The Shibuya Incident is an art fair 😭😭😭 I'm obsessed with that sentence. and also, i would like to see it
I love streetwear Yuuji and techwear Inumaki. and also I'd love to see them have more of a friendship, I think that'd be so cute. Inumaki teaching Yuuji how to use the surger and the embroidery machine.
Also, in combo with @mana-jjk 's texting hcs for Toge, what if he had like a face mask with a digital display and he could text into his phone and it would come up on the mask but he would rarely use words and would mostly just display kaomoji (idk anything about techwear lmao)
Nobara: *gets an absolutely impossible task*
also Nobara: yeah fuck it I could do that
I just love how much she believes in herself 🥹 i also love insane nobara. i just love nobara.
ALSO BLACKSMITH MAKI SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
anyway I love every little bit of this. I'm eating it up. feel free to send more. I'm so obsessed. Are they in a rivalry with the Kyoto school, for instance? what does panda do? anything and everything about megumi my most favorite boy...
