I was listening to the song “Respectless” from Hazbin Hotel and it gave me MASSIVE Leo vs Yoshi vibes (Yoshi is my Shinirai kid OC).

Yoshi and Leo have two completely different mindset on how to handle dangerous enemies. Yoshi wants to take action immediately and go for the kill, while Leo wants to strategize and think before taking action, how killing should be the last resort. Yoshi doesn’t understand why his uncle doesn’t agree with him with his plans to kill off the enemies before they become a greater threats, because wasn’t Uncle Leo the one who decapitated the Shredder?? So a showdown begins…

Splinter.

So, Bishop gets real mad cuz our boi JY0B2 has been behaving like a maniac and refusing orders ever since he went MIA for 3 days and like, are you even aware of how much money he spent on this motherfucker? How much time he invested in turning his mind into mush?? Only for this dumbass with a NUT for a brain get all fussy all over again??? It's diving him crazy. Not happy like, at ALL. He talked back, questioned orders, and even flat out refused to obey basic commands like, I don't know, eat your fucking ration??? To avoid dying??? It was honestly embarassing, and the team had to start treating him like a wild horse.

He'd tried everything, from punishing to bargaining, but nothing seems to work. And with his brain being a nut and all, bringing up his family doesn't even have much of an effect anymore. Specially now that they're all dead. Oh yeah, that. I should talk abt that.

When Bishop FINALLY decided to send people to investigate the Hamato case, they were too late. There wasn't anyone in the locations given by subject JY0B2. And the man he claimed to be persecuting his clan told him the same story, but on the inverse so like. Who to believe. It wasn't his problem so Bishop just left it at that and washed his hands of this case. Japan was out of his jurisdiction anyways and he was already busy with America's mystic shit.

So bringing up his fam wasn't an option, and that was one of his only bargaining chips. He could try and put the hitman through mind conditioning again as a disciplinary action but. The paperwork. Ugh. Not to mention the adaptation time after that.

Meanwhile having a rat as his best friend gave human Yoshi a purpose. He saved little treats for his rodent friend whenever he got fed and told it all about what was in his mind. Which was, admitedly, not much; he was confused most of the time. But it was nice having someone to whisper sassy commentary of daily life to.

At some point human Yoshi remembered he had a soul. Well, half of it. But he still had his spirit whole! And wondered if he could give a piece of it for Yoshi the rat. Because it'd be more fun if his best friend could talk to him aside from understanding. So he did that, gave a small part of himself for the lil rodent. And it worked! He could understand its squeaks!

Yoshi the rat felt self awareness for the first time in his entire 1 and a half years of existence. He existed and was perceived. Wowzies. Holy shit, his human looked like crap. Grooming him would be hard work due to his size, but he was persistent. The human chuckled. They'd talk after missions, after experiments, after disciplinary sessions. Yoshi the rat was worried for his friend, so he often spied on that Bishop guy to see if he could find a way to help his human.

The guy was talking about mystic energy harnessing, and Yoshi was surprised when he understood what that meant. Huh. Curious. Well, it was bad. Meant his human would scream and cry again, maybe die, so he better get him the fuck out.

Yoshi's human was stubborn and didn't want to leave, saying that was all he knew, but Yoshi knew better. He had a family waiting for him, far deep in a forest, where sunlight was soft and air was pure. The human seemed to vaguely recall something like that, so he did as Yoshi told him and ran away. Wasn't easy with all the security, but they managed. They hid in the sewers and Yoshi was so very happy to see his family again.

They weren't like him, not since he changed, but he loved them all the same. For a while, things were good. Yoshi the rat and family brought Yoshi the human food and warmed him in cold nights and groomed him if he was too dirty. He started to remember things again, like how to use his power for something other than killing. To nurture and raise, even if it was just a bunch of rats. And day by day Yoshi remembered more bits and pieces of better days, and told those stories to his human, who in turn became more and more enthusiastic about said family. He decided he wanted to find them, to learn why he wasn't there with them.

And because of that Yoshi remembered fire and blood and loss. And he didn't tell his human about those things because he had just started to act like a person again, this would destroy him. But his efforts were in vain as the human wasn't as easy to fool anymore. He decided to go back to the EPF and demand answers, which like, horrible idea, period. But he escaped once, he could escape again right?

WRONG. Bishop got them – yes, them. He finally took notice of the little pest talking the human's shoulder and got interested. Somehow it was as if JY0B2's fragmented mind had been planted into a little creature. Instead of restarting any process of brainwashing Bishop gave the human and the rat to the scientists to figure out what the fuck happened and how to replicate it.

They tried many things, for a long time before the first and only success happened. The human felt a shift in his own soul when his powers were pushed out of little rat Yoshi, causing his small heart to stop.

Hamato Yoshi awakened in wrath, with thirst for revenge. He broke his bounds and killed everything in his sight until he found his friend. He infused everything he had into the rat.

He didn't have a family to return to, a clan to save, a reason to exist. He'd stained his hands in so much blood he would never be able to redeem himself. So he did what he did best and destroyed everything related to the organization that caused him so much pain. Just like with his clan, the destruction of the Earth Protection Force happened through fire and blood.

Unbeknownst to him, however, this rampage didn't affect only those who caused him pain, but also those who were victims very much like himself. Dr. Baxter Stockman, who had been serving as a scientist against his will in a project with a mysterious substance, was inches of completion and possible freedom (haha, he thinks. Boy was about to either get unsubscribed from life or have his contract unwillingly renewed to the EPF). Rat Yoshi's essence had been pulled out in order to be transfered into the creatures Stockman had been working with, as the ooze would amplify the natural potential of creatures and the more potential they had, more would be amplified. When Yoshi the human broke in, the carefully constructed environment got contamined and the process didn't get to finish. One of the ooze samples fell onto rat Yoshi just as Bishop, injured and hanging on by a thread, managed to shoot human Yoshi.

His soul, already broken, split into many splinters, the biggest of them claimed by the rodent, who scattered away from danger with renewed energy.

The missed shots landed on the doctor himself, on some of his experiments, and in flammable substances. An explosion was imminent, everyone had to evacuate. The rat managed to flee.

And after long days of agonizing pain as his bones and organs slowly rearranged, he was something new. He wasn't Hamato Yoshi, and wasn't Yoshi the Rat anymore.

He named himself Splinter.

~ We continue with the curiosities of the Leo of my AU. Yoshi found it when a Kraang pod fell on a hill near his house. Yoshi lived alone with his adoptive daughter, karai, who is the daughter of a friend of his who died (Oroku Saki). Yoshi has a dojo where he teaches classes, Karai and Leo know ninjutsu. Leo has a calm character but is very protective and responsible. Although sometimes he can't handle everything and he understands it. Try to be a good brother and son. He really likes to go out at night and observe the sky full of stars. Yoshi knows that it is one of the turtles that was taken by those strange people from the pet store, because Leo has a blue mark on the back of his shell just like that time. (References to the 2016 movie) He knows something happened but he never took him to any institution because he knew they would hurt Leo. In short, Leo is a cinnamon roll. 💙✨~

🌊The Warrior Who Lost Heart 🌊

The waters of the sea are treacherous for anyone who dared to sail. But there were two brothers brave enough to tame such beasts of the sea.

Brothers not only of different blood, but also of different species.

One was a human named Saki, the strongest warrior you could ever meet who had a wild fire inside him, maybe too wild, and the other was a rat named Yoshi, a proud carefree and undisciplined warrior, but with a powerful fire but calm.

Both brothers came from a small peaceful foreign island, being part of a fishing family, they grew up together, and they were always close, everything was perfect.

Until the sailors attacked their island, they had invaded in order to conquer new fertile lands on the orders of the current Ruler, they destroyed their houses, murdered their families, and kidnapped people, being part of the kidnapped.

They lived for a couple of years as slaves of the King until they rebelled against those who imprisoned them, freed everyone and they were able to escape.

Years passed and the brothers soon became the terror of the sailors, they formed their own pirate ship, and in each port they were known as "The Brothers of Death".

Over the years they gathered their own loot with every plunder from the corrupt government, every "Wanted" sign they came across displayed a huge bounty on their heads, until their cartels changed to "Dead", there was no one who could do them. front, and they could live happily and in peace.

But it didn't last long either.

They had only arrived at the nearest port to get supplies, food, water and Ron of course, everything was going well, as always, the same routine, but something changed.

One of the brothers fell in love, a young maiden who worked with medicinal herbs was the one who stole the rat brother's heart.

She showed him the beauty in the smallest things, even the beauty in the scariest Monsters, she turned the light from her darkness, the brother made excuse after excuse to stay longer on the island.

The days passed and the love of the young couple grew more and more, until they proposed a union for life, being with the woman he loved, he was able to give up his old life to form a new one with him.

The brothers argued countless times, since the rat brother wanted to give up the life of a pirate to have his own life with the woman he loved, he wanted his brother to give him her blessing, but the other brother just refused felt betrayed.

That was how they broke their most important rule.

“Never clash weapons between brothers”

Their fight was long but above all violent, and in the end the winner was decided with a fatal cut and a permanent mark on Saki's face, who swore that he would take revenge on Yoshi, the sky cried for the broken bond between the brothers, it was Of course Yoshi had now lost his only family.

The years passed and it seemed that the Young Rat was finally happy, he returned to his life as a fisherman, he had a nice house near the sea, a sweet wife and four charming little ones full of energy, everything was perfect and he felt like a man new.

But the past always comes back.

And in the case of Yoshi, his past return as death, and that death had a name, Saki or as the sailors now called him "Shredder", he not only became the new captain of the sailors, he had also revealed his location and that of his family.

Yoshi returned from a great day of fishing, only to run into chaos, his house destroyed and inside his wife and children murdered, that day throughout the vast sea you could hear the cry of pain for the family that had lost.

Yoshi wandered in a small boat from island to island without a fixed destination, he still did not understand why death still did not knock on his door, he did not feel something that would drive him to stay alive, he faced anyone without any problem becoming the "soulless warrior”, as they called him on the islands where he arrived.

Although not everything was bad

One day when Yoshi arrived on an island to buy groceries, they sold him different exotic foods, and while he took everything to his ship for a new trip, it was at dusk when he heard some strange noises coming from the small kitchen, he was expecting some intruder or maybe a killer but instead he found a group of baby turtles just hatching from their eggs, one by one.

He was thinking of leaving them on the next island, they would find a better home than an old pirate's ship, but as the days passed at sea the little turtles learned from Yoshi, at first he only did it so they could communicate, but with the time the turtles imitated him, his way of walking, his way of moving, they even tried to imitate him when he trained with the sword, and slowly they stole the heart of the old rat.

That heart that he believed to have been destroyed, had been reborn from the ashes as if it were a phoenix, being an even stronger heart than before.

That was how Yoshi got a new family, one that he would not lose again, he took care of them, loved them, and trained them to face the cruel world in which they had to live, because although their young children didn't know it yet, they would be...

info abt splinter + some lore today ! pt . 1 bc this is getting into like . plot stuff . so is gonna b a bit long

so he was born as Hamato Yoshi , a human boy . he was pretty much average in most areas , but he had a passion for the history of art , and the art of fighting . he would spend most of his free time in the library

of course , he began training at ten years old , and he was quite talented . he was fond of hidden weapons and deception in particular — using his enemy’s propensity to plan against them by always remaining unpredictable . this was also helped by the fact that he had always been a physically small person , so he was able to play on expectations easily . essentially , he was a wild card

while he was growing up — probably around his mid to late teens — was when the existence of yōkai could no longer be hidden from the public of New York . i’m not 100% on what exactly happened to cause them to be exposed , but at some point humans learned about the hidden city and the existence of yōkai as a whole , and Yoshi was there to witness this change first hand

ofc a lot of humans disliked yōkai , but there were many who were welcoming to them too . though most yōkai were understandably perfectly content in the hidden city , some did have roots above ground , and now that they were able to be open about themselves , there was an effort to build communities where people could see it

there ended up being one main community downtown which welcomed yōkai , as well as several smaller communities throughout the city . some schools were also pushed into acceptance in order to maintain a positive public image in the face of the changes

though , of course , the more marginalized groups were around the more yōkai were there too , and all it took was a little bit of digging to realize that there were a lot more yōkai above ground than most people thought

when he completed his training and earned his title — the Splinter , for a specific move he created — Yoshi became determined to make it on his own . he took any job he could get , had people start referring to him exclusively as Splinter , and eventually moved out . of course , he wasn’t in a spot to move anywhere nice , but he was proud of the accomplishment anyway

the jobs he worked were mostly of the physical variety . he moved boxes , hauled crates , etc . he even worked as a bouncer a few times . but after a while he became most comfortable with transporting things to and from different warehouses

and one thing you learn from doing a lot of these same jobs for a lot of these same communities is , the city isn’t really as big as it seems , and you might run into a lot of the same people

Various pieces of information from the Rise Q&A back in February

It was revealed that there are other Hidden Cities other than the one seen in Rise & there had been plans for the Turtles to visit the Hidden City beneath Tokyo.

2. Splinter was able to use Leo's mystic odachi so easily due to the fact that Splinter had spent a lot of time in the Hidden City & because of this Splinter has a great deal of mystic knowledge, with Splinter also having developed his mystic abilities but he has stopped using those abilities until the events of the series.

3. More information was given about the missing Turtle Siblings & it was stated the Frida, Big Mama's Assistant would have most likely joined her brothers during the future timeline, it was also stated that the other missing Turtle Sibling would have possibly been named Camille after Camille Claudel.

4. When asked on how a Dungeons & Dragons episode would go it was stated that April would be the DM, Raph would be a fighter class, Mikey would be an illusionist, Leo would be an assassin or thief & Donnie would insist on being a scientist since he's sure that there was 'at least one sensible person back then'.

5. The Rise version of Renet could have possibly been used to explore different timelines that might have happened if certain events in the movie had happened differently.

6. After the events of the movie Casey is traveling around the world fighting remnants of the Krang & the Foot Clan.

7. When asked about the Turtle's relationship with Draxum it was stated that in contrast to Mikey who accepted Draxum the most easily, Leo is the most skeptical however it was also stated that Leo would have eventually 'gotten over' his grudge towards Draxum as there were multiple scrapped episodes planned where Leo & Draxum would have been forced to work together.

8. There were plans for the Turtles to eventually go to the Krang's original dimension meaning that it would have been likely for the Turtles to encounter the traditional dimension X/Z stuff such as the Neutrinos.

9. When asked about Casey Junior's relationship with the past/ present version of Leo it was stated that despite it being slightly different due to them being around the same age now Casey Junior can't help but still view Leo as a father figure.

10. It was stated that Splinter has never celebrated the Turtle's Birthdays in the past due to it being to closely related to his negative feelings towards his own mutation however it was also stated that after Splinter's development in the series he would start celebrating the Turtle's Birthday with them.

11. The reason that the Future Version of Leonardo was the one who raised Casey Junior was stated that it was due to the fact that the Future Version of Leonardo had a special affinity for Casey Junior & also felt particularly responsible for Casey Junior after his mother was gone.

12. When asked what the Rise version of Miyamoto Usagi would have been like it was revealed that a possible plan for Usagi was that his home dimension would have been overrun by the Krang causing Usagi to travel to the Turtles dimension for help due to them being the only ones who have ever defeated the Krang.

13. When discussing crossovers between TMNT iterations it was stated that a crossover between Rise & the 1987 cartoon or the 2003 cartoon would have been a possibility due to them also being 2D animated series.

14. April & Sunita were planned to have more 'girls night' episodes together.

It was also stated that Casey would have possibly have developed a dynamic with both April & Sunita so there is also a possibility that Casey would have been included in the 'girls night' episodes with April & Sunita as well.

What is Tmnt OC Yoshi's personality and what his relationships with his mothers, uncles, cousins, aunts, and friends?

What are his dreams, hobbies, favorite food, etc?

Best way I can describe Yoshi, the exact opposite of his grandfather Splinter. The only thing they have in common is their name.

Yoshi is the son of Karai and Shinigami and heir to the Foot Clan. He was born only for the purpose for Karai to have someone to take over the Foot when she is gone, and that fact always stuck with Yoshi. He wasn't born because his parents wanted children, like his cousins, he was born because his existence was needed, not wanted, and this fact gets to Yoshi a lot. It causes him to be mostly distant from everyone, enjoying his alone time, but his cousins always end up dragging him into their crazy schemes and adventures, which he ends up enjoying and demonstrate his skills, cause he does like to show off.

Does this mean Karai is a bad mom? Meh. She does love her son, but often struggles to truly show it given how she was raise by Shredder, so she struggles but is getting better at being a loving parent. On the other hand, Shinigami adores her baby boy and spoils him, always giving him attention, love and praise. She's the favorite.

His favorite uncle is Raph, because they both have that rebellious nature and attitude. He also admires and looks up to his Aunt Mona Lisa, he loves hearing her gruesome wat stories. He loves his other uncles too, but struggles to show it, especially to Uncle Leo, the two find it difficult to bond and find anything in common, but in the end Yoshi does care for his family more than anything and is willing to kill to keep them safe.

Yoshi takes pride in that he is, under a technicality, "the only fully blood related descendant of Hamato Yoshi", and he brags about it a lot, this makes him think he has the right to rule over both The Foot and The Hamato Clan, not his older cousin who's heir to the Hamato Clan. Yoshi can be a prick to his cousins, but he messes with them out of love.

Some things Yoshi likes doing, he enjoys doing cosmetics, he gives his female cousins make up tips and tricks, he likes watching horror/thriller movies, and he enjoys card games and gambling. He's also very skilled in illusions and black magic (thanks to his mom Shini), so he often entertains his cousins with his magic skills or even pulls pranks using his illusions on people he likes to annoy the most.
