the lines “this has always been a family story” and “this is the kind of family they are” are SICKENING in the context of a series that starts with “the campers here, they're mostly good people. after all, we're extended family, right? we take care of each other” and ends with “family, luke. you promised”

Ethan thinking he's about to stab Percy: Oh wow! I can't believe I'm actually doing something meaningful, maybe my luck is finally improving!
Ethan after Annabeth jumped in front of the knife: Good luck truly is a scam, the wheel of fortune is rigged against us all. The fates are cruel beings for having us live meaningless lives all to die for gods that don't care. I've never been more betrayed in my life.

what if in season 5, just before kronos fully takes over luke’s body, we get a flashback to percy asking luke what side he’s on and luke saying “annabeth’s, always” and then we come back to the present as percy hands luke annabeth’s knife. what then.

I like to think that pre-Oracle Rachel painted scenes from both wars, but she and Percy have no idea until they go back and reflect.
Percy notices, cause Rachel shows him her art, but he just rights it off as weird, even tho something doesn’t feel right.
Like, that’s DEFINITELY a replica Achilles mourning Patroclus. Only it’s two girls, one with flowing hair and a melted face, the other kneeling over her friend, face stricken with grief. He thinks her eyes look familiar. An immortal stands over them. Although they remind more of Ares and less of Thetis.
She has another painting that reminds Percy of a story from the Gigantomachy. Hera cowers under Porphyrion, about to be attacked. Only instead of Zeus and Heracles coming to her aid, it’s a guy with blond hair. His armor and sword is distinctively NOT Greek, but he opts to not comment on it. Rachel did a good job.
There’s more in her little studio, they both dismiss them as dreams. They make Rachel uncomfortable and Percy feels bile rise the more he looks.
He doesn’t realize until months later. It hits him while on the Argo. Him, Jason, Clarisse. THEY were the heroes in those paintings. Jason was the one coming to Hera’s aid. Clarisse was mourning Selina. He was fighting giants.
It all clicked into place, and he tried to remember what else her paintings for-told.

Everyone loves to talk about how Percy gave up godhood for Annabeth (false, he did it himself and seeing Annabeth reminded him of Luke's last request), but no one likes to talk about how Percy chose the great prophecy so that Nico wouldn't have to bear it? He did that for Nico. And when he hears the actual prophecy and finds out that he's going to die, he doesn't back pedal and try to get out of it - because that would mean Nico would die. He sticks true to his decision to take on the great prophecy and die for Nico. And then when he doesn't die and gets one wish from the gods, he makes them give Nico a cabin at chb so Nico could have somewhere he's welcomed and safe. I-

random pjo/hoo/etc moments i think about #2:
when percy gets the news that annabeths doing badly after getting stabbed in tlo and he just snatches up will and??? drives a motorcycle in full speed to the hotel??? without knowing how to drive a motorcycle??? (omg its going to hit harder in the tv show when inexperienced 12 year old percy failing at driving a car for the first time vs 16 year old hero percy driving a motorcycle effortlessly for the first time without trying)

After seeing the pjo show Hades, I am utterly convinced that he is going to embarrass Nico so much during TLO story arc. Not even in the jerk way, but in the blunt dad way
-
Hades: [to Percy] I grant you he might not look like much right now, but once I imprison you, and he trains more for a few years and finally grows into that jacket-
Nico: Father-
Hades: -He'll definitely turn out to be the prophesied kid
Hades: I mean he's already grown a bit in the last two years. You should've seen him when he was younger, he was so small-
Nico: Father please-
Hades: -Really small. I thought he'd get carried away by a hawk like a small dog
Nico: fAtHeR~!
Percy: ...

Could Nico have this black fire power? Or Bianca? I think Bianca is more likely to have it because of that skeleton she blew up. But I like to head cannon Nico has that power too (even tho I know it doesn’t fit with his cold centered powers. Do you think if one demigod sibling dies then the other sibling inherits their powers? I want to see Nico discover he has Bianca’s black fire)

Ethan nakamura deserved better. Its so cruel how twisted his mothers promise came true the minor gods got the respect they deserved but he didn’t live to see it or his siblings build a cabin of their own in camp half blood

I just reread The Last Olympian today and I was sobbing through yhe entire part with Clarisse and Selina.
I haven’t read it since I was a kid so this is the first time that I truly understand how much they parallel Achilles and Patroclus in the Iliad.
Like Selina steals her armor to lead the Ares campers when Clarisse refuses.
She fights strongly and when they think she is Clarisse they cheer her in until she gets poisoned.
Clarisse finally shows up and instantly goes into a blinding rage (so much so that she glows red from the blessing of Ares)
She ties up the Drakon that killed Selina and drags it around on her chariot.
Like Rick really is insane for that

do you think percy smelled the sea when he met poseidon and it reminded him of being in montauk with his mom and of being safe and so it made him think he was finally going to have a father but then poseidon sent him away

getting really ahead of myself but i just. if the pjo series gets to last olympian, gets to actually adapt percy's climactic speech at the throne room.... we will finally get to hear how it sounds. we will know if and at what parts percy's voice shakes with rage. which parts droop with lingering sadness. which parts are full and solid with conviction. i want to hear his voice soften when he talks about calypso. i want to hear him raise his tone with every god's interruption. i want to hear his words echo out in what remains of olympus with authority and finality, at that moment a thousand times more worthy of godhood than anyone sitting on their thrones: "i hold you to your oath. all of you." i want to hear how the end of an age sounds, and im so happy we have a chance to finally see it through.

Thinking about how in tlo there were 4 people in love with Percy: Annabeth, Calypso, Rachel and Nico.
Also thinking about how Percy used one wish from the gods to help Calypso, Rachel and Nico, but not Annabeth. His wish did nothing for Annabeth. It had nothing to do with her at all.
Calypso: he asked for her release. She's been imprisoned for eternity and he makes it that she can be free. Literally the #1 thing that she wants.
Nico: he has no place where he feels accepted. His sister is dead. His mother is dead. His dad hates him for freeing Percy (before the end of tlo). Percy knows chb would make Nico an outcast the way they made him one until botl. So he uses his wish to get Nico a cabin so he'd feel welcome and have a safe home and a picnic table to eat healthy meals. Percy gave Nico a home.
Rachel: Earlier (I think) she dumped Percy to be the oracle. Percy knew from his dreams/visions that Hades had cursed the spirit of the oracle, so he uses his wish to fulfill the terms needed for Hades to release the spirit of the oracle from his curse, therefore saving Rachel from a cursed half-life (like May Castellan).
And I know what you're thinking. "Percy turned down godhood for Annabeth!!" So they could be together!!
No.
Percy knows Annabeth would've loved to be immortal/a god, with him. She was hella tempted to stay immortal with CC in SoM. She wanted to become one of Artemis's immortal hunters in ttc (despite being in love/crushing on 2 boys). Her deepest desire (as shown by the sirens in SoM) is to be remembered forever. What better what to ensure that than by being a god?
Percy also knows the myth where Dionysus married a princess and upon her death, brought her to Zeus to make her a god so they could be together forever.
Percy could've easily asked for Annabeth to become immortal/a god with him. So they could spend eternity together, immortal. Instead, he turned Zeus down because HE doesn't want to be a god. He doesn't consider Annabeth. He just wants to fulfill Luke's last wish and help Calypso, Rachel, Nico, and the unclaimed demigods.

in the last olympian when annabeth was going around activating statues across the city to join the battle of manhattan. it is EMBARRASSING that the statue of liberty didn't join the fight. inspired by the colossus of rhodes AND the roman goddess of liberty. more iconic than probably all the other landmarks featured in the books. tall enough to land a hit on typhon, probably. whole fight had a distinct 'don't mess with new york' energy. you're gonna tell me hephaestus or dadaleus didn't make her an automaton? FAKE! embarrassing! let her kick some ass!!! rectify this, riordan!
