It's crazy how little time passed in the earlier seasons of twd. The first 8 seasons were only about 2 or 3 years. It only took Carol about a year to go from 'hi.. I washed your uniform.. 🥺' to massacring Terminus. It took Daryl about 6 fuckin months to go from 'I'll kill any one of you who looks at me sideways' to 'Friendship is Magic 🥺'

Morty's fingers tightened and loosened nervously around the handle of the portal gun. The coordinates of Meg's dimension and timeline had already been keyed in, but he was stalling, checking over and over the little space he had set up for their date. He had worked on it really hard, planning it down to the smallest detail, but he still couldn't help feeling unsure.

Swallowing slowly, he forced himself to close his eyes and breathe. He wanted to make a good impression. Or, even better, a great impression. He owed it to her, after his most recent behaviour. Moreover, this was their first official romantic date. Not just a "let's see how it goes" kind of outing, like the ones they had engaged in in the last few weeks.

This was a real date.

Hazel eyes lingered for a little longer over the makeshift open tent he had built and filled with pillows and blankets, so they could be comfortable. He had packed some snacks and drinks they could have while watching a movie on the holographic projector he had borrowed from Rick. Getting his hands on it had cost him extra chores, but it had been worth it. The device was better than a movie screen, after all.

It was all in the open, in a small clearing over which an alien galaxy stretched out, its stars shining with a faint, pink hue. Meg's favourite colour.

This was good enough, right? It had to be.

Before he could chicken out, Morty hurried to open a portal, directly in front of the door of the girl's grandparents' house. He fixed the sleeveless sweater he was wearing over a yellow shirt, wanting to make sure that he was in order, and then he rang the doorbell.

He really hoped that Meg would be the one to open the door. He really didn't want to be faced with the adults of the house.

Reading some of the critiques of pjotv and now I know why y’all are on tumblr and not in the writer’s room 💀💀

#ive said this before but i have to say it again because some of you guys …#calling the BLACK SAILS writers bad 😭😭 do you hear yourselves #all opinions are valid but some are stupid!!!#(i kid but also i think y’all have just aged out of pjo and are expecting something that even the og series was not delivering)#like the source material is middle grade! which is 8-12 year olds #literally the oldest of the target audience is a seventh grader lol #like i was literally six when we got assigned tlt in school #it’s a kids book and a kids show and y’all really got to start treating it like that #otherwise you’re only going to be severely disappointed #(and wrongly so because you’re expectations are skewed from years of fandom)#anyway i think the show is doing a great job of filling in plot holes and fleshing out characters and unraveling plot threads #it’s disappointing that y’all can’t see that because you want a scene by scene copy paste of the books #like some of y’all need a lesson in thematic cohesion and building a multi-season show with a specific overarching theme and message lol #because that’s something the og book series was missing #rick struggled to tie all of his ideas and messages into a cohesive goal so it felt messy at times #i actually have so many thoughts about how the show is doing a lot better than the books #the books would undermine their own goals sometimes because of the focus on action #while the show is reallying building up the characters and exploring the dynamics before the action kicks off #because why would you be invested in any type of action sequence if you don’t care about the characters?#percy jackson #annabeth chase #grover underwood #sally jackson #gabe ugliano #poseidon #percy jackson and the olympians #pjotv

I'm very sad we don't have more morty solo episodes by now. 7 seasons in and rick gets a prison break episode (Mortys in there but I'm counting it because it's more Rick and also Morty rather than "Rick And Morty"), pickle rick, old man and the seat, cool memory episode, and therapy (pissmaster), where he gets to bounce off bad guys, tough guys, himself (sort of) or explore tropes of healing and vulnerability.

What does Morty get? Planetina I guess, portal boys, and numbericons basically. I dont have a hate boner for Numbericons like some of the rest of the fans, but it's at best still very forgettable. He has nothing and no one to work off of, but we can clearly see it works when he is given something to work with (like the toxic relationship with planetina and toxic rebound adventuring with portal guy, hell the whole premise in fear no mort being technically solo) But it's not to the degree Rick gets so people dont see the potential. He doesn't get the opportunity to have more fantastical adventures solo.

I'm saying Morty should get to interact with more clones of himself basically-

Rick couldn’t believe he’d left the dessert It had always been home to him even in the darker days he spent within a jail cell but the moment he unloaded the last box he couldn’t help but smile at the beautiful woman attempting to read the books instead of putting away on the shelf like she was supposed to be doing but he couldn’t help but chuckle at her. “Evie my darling wife, you know if you read each book you pull out of that box we’ll be unpacking until the new year” he teased her coming up behind her and giving her a soft hug. @daydrcamings
