ALICENT IS A LESBIAN
Nothing in the show provides any evidence that she's bisexual. If you want your bisexual representation, Rhaenyra is right there! Alicent is 100% a lesbian though. She expresses NO interest in men (her reactions to men range between indifference and disgust). She spends her entire adult life revolving all her energy around her delusionship with Rhaenyra. Regarding 'Alicole': she's a lesbian and their relationship only works bc they're friends and she needs him, as a man, to protect her. She finds herself manipulated by every man in her life in this patriarchal society. Her husband won't defend her, her father will marry her off despite her only being a child. Any instances of her 'flirting' with Cole is her desperately trying to stay alive. No one cares about what she wants or how she feels. Men all use her for their own motivations. Hence her interactions with Cole and Larys, trying to do the same thing (except her motivation is far more noble: her and her children staying alive). If Criston does have feelings for her, she thinks she might as well use that to her advantage. She is not attracted to him whatsoever. She's keeping him around because he's her ally, she is not in love or lusting after him.
If she ever is able to recognise her feelings of romantic love or lust, it'll be for Rhaenyra. No one else.

god forbid a woman in a society that revolves around men have no interest in men!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TMAGP 15 Thoughts: Seasoned Hunters
What a fucking episode. No complaints at all. It's just solid gold all the way through and just like gold it's a dense so there is lots to dig in to, and not much point in a preamble.
Spoilers for episode 15, and all of TMA, below the cut.
I really like the introductory office drama portion of today's episode. It's not particularly enlightening, and there isn't anything new in it, but it sets the stage well. Yes, that was a pun. Alice reacted to the news as I knew she would, because she can't help herself. But other than that I really like the mention of Luke playing at The Glad. Magnus stuff always does a really good job of peppering in real places.
This incident was also incredibly short. However unlike last week's episode I think it utilised that time so much better. All of it was a slow build up to one event and was really just three scenes. Set up, hunt, conclusion. Simple and to the point but incredibly effective. Last week's episode felt like too big of an idea bent to fit too short of a time, while this weeks felt like a good story that was given the time it needed and no more or less. Really big fan of the whole thing.
The incident didn't have too much to really get into here. If I were live blogging you would've seen me say "Lady Mowbray?!?!" when the Caterer said "the really high-end stuff". I have been waiting for something aristocratic. The set up is a little cliché but I really like the subversion of Battle Royale instead of The Most Dangerous Game. It's not only an effective twist when the story is from the Caterer's PoV it's a much better insight into the characters were being introduced to. It also highlights something fairly interesting about TMP vs TMA. This incident is one of the most singular in terms of its representation of a TMA Entity but that expectation is somewhat subverted by having these characters hunt each other for another rather than all be hunted down. It wouldn't be out of place in TMA but it is taking a bit of a different approach.
Speaking of the characters though. Fuck Yeah. Lady Mowbray. Finally. I, and probably all of Statement Remains, have been waiting for her appearance since last October when some lucky folks got to meet her bodyguards as part of the ARG. I didn't have her pegged for a badass cannibal but here we are. She really surpassed my expectations. I love aristocratic monster people so I had high hopes and I am still pleasantly surprised.
Celia and Lady M's interaction is really great. I love that we're getting more and more evidence that Celia is clearly more than she's letting everyone else in on. I, obviously at this point, think she's from TMA's universe for a lot of reasons. Lady M not being able to place why she smells so wrong but picking up on her being out of place is just more evidence of that. Celia holding her ground and not taking any shit from Lady M is also incredible. She just listened to how she eats people, gets jumped scared by her, and then instantly tells her to fuck off by way of not giving her a name. She's really living up to the Ripley namesake and I love every second of it.
I will not soon forget that tiny little tease about Bouchard lore either. Actually cruel.
Luke and Alice at the bar wasn't a big moment but it's nice to see her interact with more than just her co-workers. Meeting Luke and he being seemingly normal was also nice, be a shame when he dies.
The final section was phenomenal. I really love it when these shows break format and what a format break it was. So first things first this was recorded on a tape recorder. Significant for likely obvious reasons but unlike the last time these showed up this one isn't an incidental placement like the Institute's one. It was being carried by the woman. We know Alice feels like she's been followed since that incident and this is likely related to it but I don't think it's related in the most obvious sense. There is a very obvious conclusion to draw from TMA knowledge but I feel like that might be folly here. It seems a little too obvious and a little too strained at the same time. The Institute and [Error] being so related to that and in this fashion I think would feel a bit forced, and so this feels more like a red herring to me. Something is going on with them but I don't think it's going to be that.
So Drowning Victim, as she is credited, is super intriguing for a million reasons. Continuing on from that prior thought it's quite possible that the tape recorder and Alice being in the same place is entirely coincidental. It's one of those things that feels like a scheme from TMA context but everything being linked feels too TMA to me for right now. But what she's saying is really interesting. Because with those tape recorders it sounds like a statement. It's not just random mumbling but a fairly coherent narrative. Or a recalling of prior events. Whether the Drowning Victim is the original PoV for that potential statement is hard to say. I doubt it but it would be possible. Another strong idea here is that it is linked to [Error] and her deal might be another archive. Instead of just collection and storage she could be able to force others to relive them through the statements. That's a TMA parallel I think would be a much stronger use of TMA's theme.
Outside of that Alice's interaction with her is so so well done. I think it's really important to show that Alice both has a heart and is able to stop with her attitude when it's really important. Getting to see that when push comes to shove she can step up is going to be something that'll come back around. We all know that everyone at the OIAR is in for a world of hurt and I think Alice is the person the fanbase has the biggest issue with in that sort of context so far. And her singing Nellie the Elephant for compression rate is sort of heart breaking to listen to. Just a really fantastic performance from Billie and people better be nicer to Alice after this. I better not hear her getting any shit for running away either. She gave CPR to a woman who basically attacked her, drowned in the middle of London, died, and then kept talking.
Also, quite note, this episode had five new voice actors in it.

Incident/CAT#R#DPHW Master Sheet
Klaus Watch: Wasn't expecting this to return so soon but here we are. This incident doesn't appear on Klaus but what does is this, CAT1RB2373-10072023-########. This has the accompanying note "Dame M" and a location "London, England".
DPHW Theory: 6451 is a pretty reasonable rating for this. Hunting mostly focused on the killing part of it. Some mental compulsion, seclusion, and obviously the predator/prey dynamic. The 1 in Weird is more evidence that 1 is the lowest rating with 0 being the highest. Nothing Weird in this one really.
CAT# Theory: CAT1 has a person in it.
I'm still debating whether to do a post on that theory because part of me does feel like it'd ruin other people's fun. Another part of me thinks that theories as prolific as that deserve to be scrutinised as intently as possible. Although there is a problem with that idea because my DPHW theory that has become the default does seem to be mine and I've not seen any cases of parallel thought on that one. The CAT theory has 10+ individuals all coming to roughly the same conclusion though and I'm not sure if that makes it more fair game or not. I, personally, welcome any challenges to my theories and I know some people who have posted the CAT theory do but that's not the same as them all holding that stance. It's not really possible to single anyone out either as it's not about any single person but the idea itself. IDK, give your thoughts on it.
This one does solidly fit into that theory though.
R# Theory: B sounds good to me. Although it's worth mentioning that there is a hyphen in this header between the rank and the DPHW.
Header talk: Hunt (Aristocratic) -/- Compulsion is interesting for two reasons. First off it being Hunt sort of precludes, secondly Compulsion is a strange filing for this IMO. There was an element of it but it was fairly minor and didn't seem like the thrust of the episode. The Caterer was compelled to be quiet but wasn't forced to hunt the rest of the brigade. He chose that when he realised what Lady M. was getting at.

Jaeherys and Jaehera were perfectly content babes. Willing to rest in their wet nurse’s arms for hours at a time, just sleeping. Helaena did not like to hold them. Though, that wasn’t an issue. The eldest princess was four and ten years old, unprepared to be a mother to even one babe, let alone two. It had been seen as joyful news when Helaena’s maids and the maester said she was carrying a child, and although it seemed everyone else celebrated the matter, Y/n had not. Helaena had not been prepared for motherhood. It had snuck up on her not long after her wedding night. Y/n could clearly see how Helaena loved her son and daughter, she would hold them even though she did not like to. She would let them touch her though she did not like being touched and she would not react poorly.
Was that motherhood?
Y/n did not wish to know. But as the people of court become even more apparent to her now, she looked to Aemond for some sense of keeping herself grounded. Aegon was gone. Likely drunk in his chambers or out in flea bottom, far away from his newborn son and daughter. He had scarcely looked at them since their birth not long before Y/n’s nameday. He did not seem to hold love for the lives he had whelped upon his wife without Helaena’s say so. If he did hold any love for them, he did not show it.
Was that fatherhood?
She did not enjoy the new dresses she wore as of late. She did not enjoy the looks she received from the men at court. The dresses were always gorgeous, but she despised what they stood for. Her eligibility.
The sapphire blue gown had been fitted to her over a dozen times to ensure the fit was right. The dress had been in the works for months leading up to her actually wearing it. And her growing chest kept changing the needed measurements for the gown. But they’d finally gotten it down, and she’d finally worn it to court. It caught the light of the sun shining through the windows of the throne room perfectly. Shining as though it were actually made of sapphires. The jewels around her neck, and hanging from her ears were. Her mother wanted everything to be cohesive, and hadn’t given Y/n the option in anything for the outfits she wore now. She wasn’t able to sometimes sneak a gown in anymore. Now that Helaena was married off, Alicent’s attention was purely on Y/n.
The only thing Y/n found comfort in was the waist chain her mother had given her. It had once been Alicent’s mother’s. A gold waist chain with sapphires, and medallions in the shape of the seven pointed star. She would frequently find herself playing with the star on the part that hung down the front of her skirts when she had her hands clasped in front of her.
Yesterday, she’d been gallivanting through the kingswood with Theobrand, bow in hand, hunting. Practicing. She’d been able to be at peace. Away from the Red Keep. The only peace she ever found now, was when she received letters from Rhaenyra, when she was with Aemond, or when she was at prayer with her mother. She had grown accustomed to the feeling of the stone digging into her knees when she prayed, she had grown used to the smell of strong incense, and the wax from candles.
Y/n knew that Otto had told many people of the court that she was now eligible for marriage, and courting, but she did not expect some of the suitors that came her way. Lord Adrian Sunglass had been married twice before, and had nine children already. He was in his forties when he approached her. His eldest son had also approached her.
Lord Lychester was closer to Y/n’s age, but she did not care for him. She did not find his ‘love’ for Targaryen history to be an endearing quality. Not when all he ever spoke of was dragons. He likely only saw her as an opportunity to gain more power and status. The wish for potential for any children to have a dragon.
Aemond was preoccupied with Helaena and the babes. He had been curious about their new niece and nephew since they had been brought into Helaena’s chambers to see them. He often commented that they were smaller than he had expected them to be. Both of them had been too young to remember Daeron’s birth, and the birth of baby Joffrey had been so long ago that she could not recall how large or small the Velaryon babe had been when Rhaenyra had carefully placed him in Y/n’s arms as she sat beside Luke and Jace on a loveseat, looking down at him curiously.
She had not held Jaehaera or Jaehaerys since their birth. She had gazed upon them and made note of their existence, but she did not wish to hold them. She could still hardly look at Helaena or Aegon since their wedding night.
As Lord Lychester continued to drone on about Y/n’s own house, and their dragons, she began to pick at her fingers. Her eyes nervously looked around the room, watching the lords and ladies converse with one another. She could see Lady Ceira Lannister in the corner, gossiping away with Lady Genna Yarwyck. She watched as Maris peacefully chatted with other young maidens of the court, and as Aegon took a glass of wine from a tray a serving girl was carrying, saying something that caused her to scurry away from him.
She wanted so desperately to escape. To find solitude, away from prying eyes, alone with her thoughts, dreams, and the tune she could not seem to escape from in her dreams.
“I met your sister, Princess Rhaenyra not long ago. My brother and I went to Dragonstone. She spoke of you frequently.” Lord Lychester informed her, finally saying something interesting for once in their interactions.
“Rhaenyra?” Y/n asked, her eyes now on him, her head craned to look up at him. He nodded with a small hum that sounded more like a chuckle.
“Yes. She seems to be quite fond of you.” He added. Looking out at the hall as well. “You seem to be more alike to her than the ladies at court.” He then peered at her from the corner of his eyes, as if to gauge her reaction.
“I do not know what you mean.” She tested.
“Oh, Princess. . .” He began, looking around them before looking back down at her. “I see the way you look at them all. You wish to get away. . . I could assist you in that. If you wished to spend most of your days at Dragonstone with Princess Rhaenyra, I would allow it. I would not force you to stay confined to Lychester Castle.”
Y/n blinked up at him for a second, before she opened her mouth to speak. “Pardon me, my lord.” And as she ended her sentence, she did not wait for a response, and instead turned away from him and began in quick strides towards her mother, who had now also joined Aemond, Helaena, the babes, and their nurse maids.
As Y/n reached her mother, Alicent noticed her, and her face changed from that of joy surrounding the twins, to one of concern for her youngest daughter.
But she did not say anything as she arrived, instead only standing beside her mother, watching as Aemond spoke to the twins in High Valyrian. They looked up at him without any thoughts behind their eyes. Only curiosity to do with the one eyed prince.
She could not help but look at them as well. Silver hair like the moon, and pale lilac eyes following his every movement. She could see a hint of Aegon’s nose in Jaehaerys. She could not help but stare. Is that what her and her siblings had all looked like when they were fresh from their mother’s womb? Pale, and completely innocent of any sin or wrong doings, awaiting for the day when their innocence would be ruined?
Was that childhood?
Were all babes so innocent? So unaware of the truths around them? Was that the truth of coming of age?  Finally understanding the cruel truth of the world they were born into without choice? How could anyone knowingly bring a child into the world with the knowledge of cruelty? Every potential terrible fate that could befall their child? How could a woman possibly bear the idea of carrying a babe of someone they did not like? Y/n did not understand how Alicent had done it. Or how Helaena could have done it at an even younger age than their mother.
Y/n knew she would not be able to do it. Was that why her mother insisted that Y/n choose her own husband? Was it so clear who she would become, to those around her? Or was it a hope they had for her, that she would be unable to fulfill?
Y/n felt a pain in her chest at the very idea. Looking at Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, she could not imagine looking down at her own child and not feeling guilt. Guilt for her child at who their father was, and who they would inevitably become.
She did not trust any of the men at court. She did not truly trust the kingsguard nor did she truly trust the men in her family. Aegon was to never be trusted, Viserys could not be trusted to bring any justice, Otto was willing to marry her off to a stranger for his own gain, Daemon had not seemed worth trusting from the little she remembered of him at Driftmark.
She only trusted her mother, Maris and Aemond. And what would Aemond become when those around them considered him to be a man? She did not know if he would still be kind and gentle to her, or if the tendencies to be cruel in the training yard would consume him. She loved Aemond, He was her beloved brother, and yet, she did not know if she’d be able to trust him once he was a man.
“Let’s see you to bed, darling.” Alicent beckoned, guiding Y/n by her shoulder away from the crowds. And as Y/n sat in her nightgown on the floor, holding a seven pointed star pendant, staring out the window as Alicent brushed her hair free of knots and tangles.
They had not spoken a word to one another when Alicent helped her undress, and undid her hair. They had been comfortable in their silence. The sound of the hearth cracking, and the brush running through Y/n’s hair was all that could be heard.
“Do you hate Viserys, Mother?” She suddenly asked, not moving a muscle in her body as she continued looking out the window, her eyes darting from each bright dot in the dark night sky.
Her mother’s movements halted, and she could practically see her expression. “Your father-”
“Viserys.” Y/n interrupted, running her thumb along the medal star in her hands. “He may have been the one who sired me, but he is no true father. I wish for you to speak your mind on the King.” She heard her mother exhale quickly through her nose, and when she turned her head to look at her mother, she saw a bittersweet smile on her face.
“Mother?”
“He is our king, darling. I respect him as such.”
Y/n shook her head. “You still respect him? Do you even hold love for him? After his negligence on Driftmark? He made you out to seem crazed over Aemond’s loss, he did nothing to defend his own son.”
It was not something that Y/n had attempted to keep secret, her distaste for King Viserys since Driftmark. She did not trust not respect him since his disregard of Aemond being mauled by their nephew. She did not wish for Luke to lose his eye in exchange, but she wished for him to be held accountable for his actions.
“Y/n. . . I do not need to love him. He is my husband and king, he has my respect and loyalty.” Alicent spoke, reaching down to cup the side of Y/n’s face so gently that she could barely feel her mother’s touch, just the heat of her hand.
“He does not respect you.” Y/n’s voice cut deep as she mostly turned to face her mother.
Alicent’s lips went into a thin line as she and Y/n held eyecontact. Y/n had not intended to say it, but it had forced itself out from her mouth. Yet it was true. Viserys disregarded Alicent as though she were just another lady at court and not his wife and mother of five of his children.
“It’s not fair. You and Helaena are expected to respect your husbands, and yet neither of them respect their wives. Viserys does not respect you even as the mother of his children, he does not even hold love for the children you gave to him, Mother. And if you were to pass Helaena’s chambers after Aegon has gotten drunk, you can hear her crying. He makes jokes at her expense, makes her out to be a fool to everyone else at court. Why is it only expected for ladies to respect their husbands but not for the lords or kings to respect their wives?”
Alicent sighed, shifting herself in her heat to lower herself down to the ground to sit eye to eye with Y/n. “Men do to not frequently care for the feelings of women. Most matches are made politically between strangers. I understand your fears.” Alicent grabbed Y/n’s hands in her own. “I wish for you to be happy. . . that is why I have allowed you to make your own match.”
Y/n’s brows furrowed as she looked down to where their hands met. Alicent’s thumb stroking the back of her hand in small circles.
“It is Targaryen custom for a brother and sister to be wed to one another. . . I have two unbetrothed brothers, who you could marry me to. Why would you not just marry to Aemond or Daeron?” Y/n questioned, looking back up at her mother, who now looked rigid.
Y/n remembered the conversation she’d had with Aemond. He’d once asked Alicent something similar, and their mother had shut it down quicker than he could even ask.
“Yes. It is Targaryen custom. But you are not just Targaryen. You have my blood as well, you are also Hightower. Aegon and Helaena were married to keep Aegon. . . safe. I did not want to have them married, but it was the only option. I do not agree with the customs of house Targaryen, and I do not want you married to Aemond or Daeron because they are your brothers, and they should remain as that. I do not want you to be forced to follow the path of almost every other Targaryen because it is considered to be custom.”
Y/n slowly nodded in understanding, though she did not understand. Yes, she had Hightower blood in her viens, just as Rhaenyra had Arryn in her’s, but she was just as much a Targaryen. But she supposed it was different in some ways.
“What if you did not force me? Mother I am not comfortable with the men at court. I would much rather be married to someone I know and am comfortable with.” She tried to explain, but Alicent’s expression did not change. She would not waver on this matter, that was becoming clear to Y/n.
“It is a sin in the eyes of the gods. You pray to them everynight, you go to the sept on Maiden’s Day every year, you carry the symbol of the faith. You know it is wrong. Please, Y/n, please tell me you know that?”
Y/n did know. She’d known since she was young, the way the septa would always teach about the faith to her and Helaena. She knew it was wrong because everyone else in the seven kingdoms would not dare to marry their brother or sister. It was an ancient tradition from Old Valyria that the Targaryens received special dispensation to continue, because everyone knew it was wrong. But it did not stop her from asking. In the hopes that perhaps her status as a Targaryen princess would allow her to marry someone she knew she could trust rather than a man who would likely always be a stranger to her.
“Yes.” Y/n replied quietly.
She felt as though her fate had been chosen for her. She had no choice in the matter. She was just a piece in a game, being moved about the board at her grandfather’s will, and her mother was doing her best to keep her hidden from it. But it was not working. Y/n was well aware of the truth. Otto Hightower would advise the King to only accept a match that Otto had deemed acceptable, and then would manipulate the King to agree to it.
She was utterly useless in the matter.

The ending didn’t come out like it did the first time I typed this up but it’s close to the original I had worked on last night 🙃
Shocked wasn’t enough to describe the jolt Jacob received when he opened his front door and found Bella. The last bit of hope that imprinting on the witch had just been a dream was quickly eliminated. Standing before him was the love of his life, yet he didn’t feel that same giddiness he once felt with Bella’s presence. That terrified him more than anything; how quickly imprinting changed one’s life.
Behind her on the dirt driveway was a small, tan car. Probably here replacement for her red truck that was totaled when Riley took her. Late in the day, the sky is already casting the world in a pink and orange haze.“Sorry to show up unannounced.” He can tell Bella immediately wanted to nervously chew on her bottom lip as she was prone to do but stopped herself. Subtle changes could be seen on her. She’d been spending time reflecting on herself and really thinking of what she wants in life.
“No, it’s okay.” Jacob steps aside to let her in. Bella hesitated for a heartbeat before walking through. I guess it has been a while since she’s come over.
They go to his room which feel so small now that there was another person occupying it.
He hated this strange feeling. It made him not know how to act in front of her. Like she was a complete stranger to him now and not the girl he'd been mooning over for years. Jacob watches her in a queer way as she perched herself on the edge of his bed. "How has the pack been?"
"Good. (y/n) and Edward left with the Denali couple to drive them back to Alaska." He noticed the flash of momentary hurt on Bella's face before she regains composure and nods.
"I remember them saying they'd be leaving soon." They hadn't spoken about her meeting with them. Jacob had been too focused on what was happening with him and how, even though he was in his human skin, he could still smell Evita's citrus scent that beckoned him to go to Sam's. The alpha had warned Jacob though about scaring her off before she was able to finish the wards that was to protect them from hostile creatures.
“They left last night and should be back in a few hours from the text she sent to our group chat.” Jacob shrugs. “
At that, Bella actually smiles. “I wouldn’t doubt it. Edward drives really fast. Even Alice does too. It must be a vampire thing.”
He tried to think of something else to say, anything to make his life feel normal again. There had been nothing normal about his life though. His mouth was dry and tongue heavy. How could he go on pretending everything was okay? Not to mention he couldn’t imagine how Bella would feel once she learned that another guy who she deeply cared about was taken because of imprinting once again. Her wounds were still healing from her breakup with Edward. It would crush Bella. Jacob may have imprinted on Evita, but he still cared for her greatly. Just not romantically, not anymore.
By the blessing of those above, a tremor in the air gripped Jacob and Bella. The hairs on the back of her neck stand at the tingling that was rushing through her. “Wh. . . What is that?”
The strong aroma of orange blossoms fills his nostril.
Evita.
This had to be Evita’s magic swirling in the air. It riled up the wolf in him, making Jacob want to spring into action. Were it not for Bella being present, he might have leapt through his window and run to Sam’s house where he knew the witch was staying for the meantime.
Underneath his skin, the animal trembled and agitated him from the inside where he felt uncomfortable in his human flesh.
Inhaling deeply, Jacob closed his eyes to steady his breathing which had quickened. “Magic.”
Bella does a double take. “Magic?”
He stumbles over his words but manages to get Bella up to date on what had been going on in La Push. Even Jacob felt silly about the things he said out loud to her, all of this sounded so unreal yet that’s what his life had become.
The air was still fluctuating with that sharp orange smell and Jacob could spot goosebumps rising on Bella’s arms as an after effect to nearby magic.
“Can I meet her?”
“You want to meet her?” Yes, a reason to see Evita! His wolf rejoiced that he’d finally be able to be near her again despite Jacob’s efforts to ignore it.
Bella doesn’t waver. “Yes. If she’s here to protect the town then I feel like I owe it to her to introduce myself. This. . . This is my fault after all.”
“Stop saying that.” Jacob hated how she pinned the blame of all of the events that had led up to Evita’s arrival. “It’s not you’re fault. Something like this was bound to happen ever since the Cullens came to town decades ago.
“Regardless,” Bella sighed. “I want to meet her.”
That’s how they end up in Bella’s tan Corolla, the small car sped through the empty streets of La Push to get to Sam’s cabin. The drive was overall quiet considering both of them were off in their own little worlds; questioning what they had felt in his room when Evita’s magic swept up their senses into a flurry. The wolf’s eagerness to be near it’s mate was unfathomable as Jacob felt his hands beading with perspiration.
He wasn’t ready to see Evita. Not yet. There was no way Jacob could trust himself to keep his imprinting a secret from Bella if Evita is near.
And Bella, her skin still hadn’t stopped shivering with an odd delight; the back of her neck continued to tingle through her neck and spine. She couldn’t begin to describe the experience. Jacob had called it magic.
The drive didn’t take long, Jacob and Bella were great up for that as Bella’s car pulled to a stop in front of Sam’s cabin. Excited chatter could be heard streaming through from the inside of the house.
Bella gets out of the car first allowing Jacob a few seconds to himself to calm the roaring wave of his heartbeat.
Breathing in a deep inhale, Jacob unbuckles his belt and pushed open the car door.
Smoke from Sam’s chimney twirls out in long ribbons against the mystical color pallet that sunsets are composed of.
From a fluttering curtain in a window, a face briefly appeared and spotted the two of them as they walk up to Sam’s porch. In but a few seconds does Paul open the door to great them. His eyes narrow with caution that confused Bella. Instantly a tension spoiled the air and the house grew quiet.
“Jacob. Bella.” Paul casually greeted but there was a strain to his voice. “Fancy seeing you guys here.”
“We came here to see Evita’s witchcraft.” Jacob is quick to say, hopeful that Paul would buy the reason for it was true.
“We felt the aftershocks and I asked Jacob to take me to meet her.” Explained Bella.
That made Paul’s eyes round. “Aftershocks?”
Sam appeared behind him. “Come in.” He merely instructed and had Paul step aside. “Jacob, stay in the back with me.”
Sam’s living room was crowded with other members of the pack and was wholly transformed into a candlelit space for witchcraft. His usual furniture was gone and in their place were an array of strange and arcane objects. The light from the fireplace made shadows flicker against the walls and distort the shadowy figures of those present.
Everyone leaned in yet kept themselves from straying too far into the circle that Evita had made on the ground.
A small bowl of herbs are slowly catching ablaze by the beckoning of her foreign words. Bella saw with her own eyes a river stone crumble all by itself into fine dust that is carried on an invisible wind and into Evita’s clasped hands. The delicate skin of her wrists appear paper thin as even Bella could see the many lines and rivers of her veins. They looked like they were made of lightening as they burned from under her skin.
Her lips move rapidly in her incantation, and as her words carried into the room, the energy shifted. Candlelight made the dark sway.
Entranced were the rest of the pack as they held their breathing, taking in the wondrous sight before them.
More sharp spices fill the air along with Evita’s citrus scent.
Jacob couldn’t tear his eyes off of her wild and flying curls that whip around her face that was lined with painful looking scars. To Jacob though, the dark scars that run along her face accentuate her fine cheekbones and full lips. A spatter of freckles add to her charm.
The wild wind of energy that had been swirling around her seem to fall away. Time itself felt like it froze.
Multiple breaths that had been held in up until that point exhale with an edge of relief. Her spell was complete.
When the candles are blown out by the dying breath of her magic, Sam slowly turns on the electronic lights of his house. Sitting in the middle of the living room was a pale Evita. Slowly she removes her top hand to reveal an object the size of a quarter and equally flat.
The color of it was the glittering shade of emerald. A warmth eminated from it.
Weary from her efforts, Evita explained with a tired voice “I have five more of these to make. They are to be distributed throughout Forks and La Push. The ward is this small so that it won’t be easily spotted by your enemies. We must bury them at six specific points. About a foot into the ground.” She passed it to Jared who held it with reverence. The ward made it’s way around the pack as they ‘ooed’ and ‘awwed’.
Leah and Seth gather around Evita to help her up and into Sam’s bedroom where she was regain her strength.
Jacob followed the trio with his eyes, unable to follow them thanks to Sam.
While Bella hadn’t been able to be properly introduced to Evita, the visit had been worthwhile. She’d never imagined that magic would look quite like that or that it would feel so intense.
When everyone had a chance to examine the ward, Paul snatched it from Collin’s hands. “This is to be put somewhere with the highest security. This may not look like much but it is essential if we want to keep our territory safe.”
This was not fun and games.
Sam put a hand on Jacob’s shoulder, alerting him it was time for him to go. “She’ll be alright. She warned me ahead of time that this would take a toll on her energy. Proper sleep and food will do her good.”
If Sam hadn’t been Jacob’s alpha, who knows what he would have done. Any other wolf would consider Sam’s posturing as getting in between Jacob and his mate. Hell hath no fury like a wolf being kept apart from their imprintee.
Jacob was still experiencing a heady daze and thankfully didn’t put up much of a fight as he taps Bella’s arm to get her attention. She was still staring at where Evita had been creating her ward.
The simple physical contact coaxed her back to her senses and they slink to the front door. Both too stunned to utter a parting word to anyone.
Bella didn’t know how long they’d been there, but instead of the fuchsia clouds that were highlighted with orange there was now a vast sky filled with stars.
Stars were dull though in comparison to the headlights on Edward’s car that shined right at them.

Hey it’s me El! Can I have an aegon x apprentice fic where she’s an apprentice dragon trainer person who is the only one other than himself who sunfyre tolerates but aegon doesn’t know that so just stumbles onto her giving his dragon head scratches and praising it so much. Leads into some heavy banter and hardcore flirting. They do this for a while but when he suggests having sexy times on that very floor (all hail slut aegon) She refuses to bed him as he’s married to Helaena and she’s her friend so she could never do that to her. Reader does kiss him though so the two can have one hint of what they could’ve had if he wasn’t married. Only now aegon has had a taste he can’t stop now so he’s walking determined to helaena and alicent to request he take her as a second wife like his namesake did.
El! I took a little writing break yesterday, but I'm back now!!! Here is the latest, and *spiciest* addition to our Apprentice!reader series!!!!
Dragon Tamer
Tumblr media
Ever since you were a child, you had been fascinated with dragons. Reading anything and everything you could get your hands on, vying to be at the front of the crowd whenever a royal would land their dragon, and teaching yourself High Valyrian. It was thanks to this dedication that you were here now, cooing over Sunfyre as you inspected the golden dragon’s front two fangs.
You had noticed Sunfyre’s reluctance to snap at his food with his normal ferocity, and now was applying a healing salve to his gums.
“Poor dear, how did no one notice this cut?” You asked, as you finished applying the salve and Sunfyre shut his jaw, letting you scratch his snout.
He blew steam at you and made a happy purr as you continued stroking and scratching his snout, whispering praises in High Valyrian to him.
“I must admit my surprise.” The voice of Prince Aegon rang out, and you stepped away from Sunfyre turning to face the silver haired man.
“Apologies, my prince, you cannot take Sunfyre out at this time. His jaw is healing, and I fear he might attempt to eat during the flight and aggravate the wound.” You said, bowing your head as Aegon came closer.
There was a look of grave concern on Aegon’s face that you had never seen before. “He is injured? How?”
“A cut on his upper gums.” You tapped Sunfyre’s maw, and he opened it, showing off the reddened cut.
Aegon began whispering to Sunfyre in High Valyrian, stroking his side. “And what is being done?”
“I have already applied a healing salve, it will take a few days, but soon he should be right as rain.” You reassured him.
Aegon visibly relaxed, and Sunfyre lumbered further into his cave and settled down to sleep. “Thank you, Lady?”
“Y/N.” You said. “I am newer to the dragonpit, but I promise you I am more than capable.”
He nodded, a curious look in his eyes. “I see that. Sunfyre is usually not fond of anyone but me.”
You had heard the rumors that Sunfyre would only listen to his rider, but after some persistence and a lot of praises whispered in Valyrian you soon gained the dragon’s respect. Now his rider on the other hand… You’d never met Prince Aegon before, only heard stories from your dear friend Helaena, she did not despise him, but she longed for a gentler soul to be her husband. You mourned with her in that aspect. You doubted you would be able to marry someone you loved, either.
“He is a beautiful creature who deserves respect, and I learned is quite fond of snout scratches.” You smiled and glanced towards the sleeping Sunfyre,
Aegon stepped closer to you. “He, like his rider, seems to have a weakness for exceptionally beautiful women.”
Ah, there was the flirting, you supposed you should have expected it, but it still caught you off guard. Aegon was very handsome, and you would be lying if you said you had not wondered what it might be like to be beside the man who rode such a magnificent dragon. What it might be like to be a princess.
You turned. “That is very kind of you to say.”
“No returning compliment for your prince?” He asked, a teasing smile on his face.
That smile, you wished to wipe it off, to instead feel those lips against your skin. To hear that voice, call out your name in the moment of pure ecsta— You cut yourself off and blinked at him, mind reeling. You must keep yourself together.
He stepped closer, twirling a lock of your hair around his finger, lavender eyes burning into you. “You are able to tame my dragon and yet the cat seems to have caught your tongue?”
“You are handsome, my prince.” You forced out, face hot as he moved even closer.
“Merely handsome? Not very, or extraordinarily?” He teased, tugging on your lock of hair.
You looked around, no one else was here. A boldness grew in you and you looped your arms around his neck, fingers threading into his hair. “What would you like me to say my prince? That you are handsome beyond measure, and that I wait beside Sunfyre every day hoping you will come to see him, and find me as well?”
“I would not be opposed to it.” He said, hands dropping to your waist.
“Or?” You batted your eyelashes up at him. “Perhaps you would like to hear of how I dream of you, storming in and grabbing me. Your hands mapping my skin, heated lips leaving marks for everyone to see.”
Aegon’s pupils were blown wide, and he pulled you closer, one hand wandering up to your bodice, groping the soft flesh. “I would very much like to hear that.”
You pressed yourself closer, practically whispering in his ear. “You would? You would like to hear how in my dreams, you press me against the wall, hand covering my mouth as you rut into me, giving me the pleasure I know only a prince is capable of giving.”
He lowered his head, nose brushing against yours, his voice low. “Not just a prince, this prince, only I can satisfy you.”
“Yes, only you.” You echoed, fingers tugging lightly at his thick silver strands.
“Only I can satisfy you, you who Sunfyre adores, the most beautiful woman in all the realms, you have tamed him.” He moaned, grinding his hips into you, his hardness pressing against your lower stomach.
“Perhaps that means I would be a good dragonrider.” You said, gasping when his fingers snuck under your bodice and began claiming the flesh.
“You would be, I have no doubt. Let me take you here, now, and we shall see if you can tame me as well.” His lips brushed against yours as he attempted to lower you both to the ground. “Gods, I wish for you to tame me, my Rhaenys, touch me.” His hand brought yours to his clothed cock, as he moaned your name, hips still moving against you.
You stopped him and pushed away. “You are married, and Princess Helaena is a friend of mine, I will not betray her in such a way.” Your core was thrumming, and your bodice was halfway pulled down, it would be so easy, but you shook yourself from your lust.
Aegon stood there, loss and confusion clear on his face. “But—she will never know; I swear to you.”
You shook your head and straightened your clothing, looking down at the stone floor. “No, my prince.” You said firmly, your heart beating frantically in your chest, and your face hot as dragonfire.
He whined, and your eyes shot up to his. “Y/N, do not deprive me of you, not just as I have found you.”
You bit your lip, then stepped forward and pressed them lips to his. He tastes of citrus, oranges you recognize, and you have to hold his hands away from you, as your lips move against his.
He whines once more when you pull away, and you brush back a strand of his hair. “Let that serve as our hint of what could have been. Take it and go back to your wife or your whore houses, you will not find relief in me.” You turn away and disappear down the hall.
Aegon pushed his way through the keep until he came to his mother’s chambers. Helaena would be there as well, he knows it. He barged in, and stood in front of them, determination clear in his gaze. “I will marry y/n, from the dragonpit, she has tamed Sunfyre, and I will not ignore a clear sign from the gods.”
“Aegon, you are already married.” His mother reminded him.
“My namesake had two wives, one for duty and one for desire, I shall have the same.” He looked to Helaena. “Sister, y/n says she is your friend, she refused my advances out of loyalty to you. Allow me to take her as well, and I swear to you, I will never darken your doorstep again.”
Helaena was quiet for a moment, then nodded. “Let she who tames into the home, and the hearth will not overflow, the flames will not ravage the rooms.”
His mother sighed, but he was already out the door, ready to reunite with his own Rhaenys.

IDV Ladies and their Love Languages ♡
Alice DeRoss
Alice’s love language is quality time. Time is something she doesn’t have much, and a lot of the time in her life is unpleasant. When she is able to be around someone and not have to worry about work, her past, or anything else but enjoying the time she’s given, she is more than happy.
-Her favorite things to do include: working on projects with you, sitting and either brushing your hair or having you brush her hair, and listening to music or you talking to her about an interesting subject
-In the manor, the most common place to find her is the Library. No one would be surprised if she eventually ends up reading every book organized on those towering shelves.
-To do something nice for her, offer to let her pick out a few books and read them to her. Sometimes, she gets tired and a little confused, a trait carried through from her childhood, and loves listening to you read so she doesn’t fight with the words on the page.
-However, when she’s feeling good and has plenty of energy, she’s just as happy to read to you, if you wish.
Anne Lester
Anne’s love language is acts of service. When she was younger, she thrived off of words of affirmation, but after being neglected, betrayed, and heartbroken, she’s learned that she can’t take loosely thrown words to heart. When one shows their affections for her, however, she’s all the more likely and happy to reciprocate. While she does thrive off of the praises of others, it means so much more to her if one can both say and show what she means to them. Once she trusts someone, she’s willing to do almost anything.
-What you can do for her to make her feel loved: After a match, ensure she’s ok and take care when patching her up. Show interest in her toys! She would be ecstatic if you asked to make one with her! You two would come up with the cutest idea, maybe two wooden dolls that come together in an embrace when pushed in such a way. No matter what, even if you messed up, she’d be enamored with you.
Demi Bourbon
Physical Touch! No way around it. It’s both how she feels the most loved, and how she shows her affection for others. She’s very outgoing and bright and, though she has a strong temperament, she isn’t quick to anger. Instead, she’s boisterous and hearty, dragging people around, giving them a solid hand to the back, or squishing their face with both her hands whenever she’s excited or happy, which is most days.
-Demi is always happy to have you drag her away to cuddle
-she loves attention from you
-if you were completely fine with public displays of affection, she’d squeeze you as tight as possible then and there, wherever you are.
-but, she’s also fine with being all over you behind closed doors.
-When in matches and you happen to be near each other
-she’ll always kiss you, hug you, or hold your hand
-or if you’re containing the hunter and she passes by you to hand you a drink, her hand will linger as long as possible
-as if to say “come on, you got this.” or “I believe in you.”
Emily Dyer
Word of affirmation is Emily’s love language. She’s very sweet and always tries to see the best in others first. She can be a coward sometimes, and there are certain things that are uncomfortable to her, but when someone says they’re proud of her, or tells her that it's ok to be afraid, and reminds her that she is loved, the world seems like the perfect place to her.
-Emily has a bad habit of getting down on herself and accidentally affecting others with her attitude. She believes that she’s thrown her life away. As she gets older, and doesn’t have that stability she once longed for, her head becomes cloudy.
-She appreciates more than anything when you just take her hands in yours, gently brush your thumbs across the back of her hands and tell her everything’s going to be ok.
-Tell her that everything will work out, that she’s a hard worker and her ambition will pay off
-She’ll instantly perk up, and she’ll absolutely do something sweet for you in return
Emma Woods
Acts of service! Emma has both time and ability aplenty and wishes to put them to good use! If she feels as though she had made a mistake, she’s already making whoever she wronged a nice meal or is offering to take over one of their matches. She seeks out those who she’s bonded with in order to show them the fruits of her labor, whether it be an exuberant bouquet of flowers from her very own garden, or a foldable pop-up card she managed to figure out how to make herself.
-When it comes to being in a relationship with her, you two are practically never apart.
-If you’re still asleep by the time she wakes up, she’ll gently push open your door and waken you with the utmost tenderness and sincerity.
-Either that, or she’ll go ahead and eat breakfast, then bring yours up to you if you have still yet to wake.
-In matches, she prioritizes your health over anything else
-If you’re injured, she’ll forget decoding in order to heal you up
-You better bet she’s risking getting hit to dismantle the chair you’re about to be tied to if you’re caught by the hunter.
-And if she isn’t able to save you in time, or messed something up in a match, she’ll be ready to apologize with a big hug and a sweet treat!
Fiona Gilman
Fiona loves giving and receiving gifts! Despite the fact that she’s not materialistic, like at all, she loves knowing that something reminds someone of her. Her room is filled with trinkets and fun things that signify her relationships with other people. She’s easily attached, but smart about her relationships.
-It can get difficult for you, sometimes. Fiona will come back with a rock found on some map where she was playing.
- “Look,” she points excitedly, “This vein of blue reminded me so much of the time you and I…”
-“And these little specks of gold…”
-She’ll explain every meaning she found in this small rock, and you smile, grateful, for the gift.
-But then you have to go back to your room and find a place for it next to the 12 others.
-It's ok though, she’s just as happy when you do the same.
Helena Adams
Physical touch. How could it not be? Having lost her sight at a young age, she hasn’t been able to see much of the world, but she’s certainly been able to feel it. She loves to feel the curves, calluses, and crevices of one's hands, holding them intently not because she needs to be led, but because she wants to experience.
-After getting comfortable with you as a person. One night, she asked bashfully if she could take your face in her hands
-She spent an hour just running her smooth, small fingers over each minute detail of your features, as if memorizing how you look without even seeing you
-It became her favorite thing to do
-She loves everything that makes your face unique. The shape of your nose, where your forehead becomes your hairline, the shape of your lips, all of it.
-Even though by now she knows what you look like by heart, she still can’t help but putting her hands on your cheeks and peppering kisses over where she loves the most
-only in private, though
-But you can hold her hand any time you want
Margaretha Zelle
Quality time! She believes in choosing what to do with her own life, so choosing to spend time with someone equates to value, since she chose for herself what to do! Margaretha can be absent-minded at times, and is very grateful if someone reminds her to do something, or better yet, helps her out. Cleaning, cooking, playing in matches. It would lighten her load and make her oh so happy if someone were there with her.
-She often wishes that you could be in every match with her.
-She really appreciates it when you volunteer to take someone’s place just to be with her
-Sometimes that's a mistake, though
-If you happen to be near her at the beginning of the match, she place down a music box for speed, and instead of promptly decoding, she’ll grab your hand and pull you into a dance
-A few matches have gone wrong this way
-but that doesn’t stop her from spending time with you
Note: Sorry for not posting anything yesterday, I got home really late and almost immediately fell asleep. The second half of the women of idv will be posted tomorrow. I'll probably make 2 more posts like this after that, two for the men, and let me know if this subject for select hunters sounds appealing! Thank you all for your support! I love you <3
(also, this is not proof-read, I'll probably edit it tomorrow)

do you have a favorite season or episode of Leverage? i love seeing you post about this show :)
Leverage is one of those shows that it's so hard to pic favorites because it's all so incredibly, satisfyingly good.
The first season is probably the worst which is still putting it head and shoulders over the best season of so many other shows that I love. It was hurt by being aired out of order, which thankfully the other seasons didn't suffer from, but it has so many little details in there that become running gags throughout the series. Plan M, Hardison dies. Let's steal an <X>. Parker stabbing a guy with a fork. Hardison's stories about his Nana. Eliot's very specific catchphrase. Sophie's struggle with being an actress vs being a grifter. Alice White. Hurley. Sterling. Old Nate.
I think the Pilot and the two-part finale are my favorites from that season though it is a very close call with basically every other episode.
The Pilot of course gives us the crew and becomes incredibly important to understand the motivations of the final villain of S4. So, so much is established in this episode. The heist at the start, the mini-con at the hospital, and the main con to get their revenge. The walk-away where they all fail to walk away.
And then the two part finale. Nate's ex wife shows up and everyone basically falls in love with Maggie because she's awesome. Sterling truly establishing the Sterling always wins rule with his second win. Nate being able to punch - in the face - the guy who turned down the insurance claim for the medical procedure that might have saved Nate's dying son. Sophie trying to have her cake and eat it too, only to ultimately chose the team over herself. Old Nate becoming the Leverage mascot (to real Nate's chagrin).
Season 2 is probably my second least favorite because I think Sophie leaving the team is somewhat... mishandled? Overall they handled the actress needing time off while pregnant well, but she leaves the team to find herself but is upset that Nate gives her that space and encourages the team to do so as well? Like, yeah, he needs to be better at asking for help and it's his big failing this season but he's very much trying to respect what Sophie asked for and given shit about it. But this is quite possibly the only overarching storyline the show fumbled which is sooooo impressive. (Glances at the Flash and it's many fumbled storylines.)
The first episode of this season is hands down favorite. The team gets back together. Parker as a lock picking nun. The Team taking over Nate's apartment (and then refusing to leave for three seasons). The fact that this episode sets up the series finale. Because it does. The whole reason Nate decides to give in and rejoin the team for more than just this one job at the end? Is because this is where he realizes what really happened behind the scenes of the 2007-08 financial crisis, which leads directly to the target of The Long Goodbye Job.
(holy shit is this show amazing at callbacks and maintaining continuity)
I also really love the Two Live Crew Job for introducing Chaos and The Lost Heir Job for bringing in Tara for the rest of the season (only complaint is we barely get any more of her after this season). Though if I were to pick a second favorite episode of the season it'd be The Bottle Job because I love them saving the bar together and it has the first hints of Jimmy Ford being revealed (explaining further why Nate is the way he is).
I think Season 3 and 4 tie for me as second favorite seasons. S3 has the plot with the Italian and finally stops using Nate's personal failings as the driving impetus of the season finale. Eliot being so very ashamed of the man he used to be is incredibly touching (someone hug this man) and makes it all the more impressive what kind of man he's become now.
I love The Inside Job for putting Parker front and center. Introducing the man who raised her, but also failed her in a way that makes Nate quite likely want to punch Archie in the face. The show never outright calls Parker autistic, but she is. She so clearly is. And it's very plain to see that was factored into the set design for where Parker lives. It was part of Archie's reasoning for keeping her separate from his family - though he can say 'she wouldn't fit in' all he wants, the truth is clear in how he says it. But despite how he failed her, the episode is about showing that Parker does have a family now. The Leverage Crew. And they love her because she is the way she is. Because if she were any different, she wouldn't be their Parker. And they are willing to fight for her and trust her and follow her lead.
I love any episode where Hardison gets to be artsy, so The Scheherazade Job is beloved. How dare he be so talented? So, so, so multi-talented.
The Studio Job gives us Eliot's softer side and Christian Kane's wonderful country singing voice.
The Three Card Monte Job introducing Jimmy Ford in the flesh and giving us the wonderfully fucked up relationship he has with Nate. They love each other but they're too much alike to get ever get along. Each one has a very different code of ethics that clash irreconcilably.
The Rashoman Job is just incredibly well played, with the actors in the flashbacks being slowly updated as it's revealed this person or that person was actually one of the Leverage Crew pre-show. Sophie's accent in the flashbacks getting increasingly incomprehensible until she's basically speaking what the wingdings fonts look like when you try to type normally with them.
The King George Job giving more artsy Hardison who hacks history and probably needs a nap. Sophie's complicated backstory and her realization that cons where she thought no one really got hurt may have actually gotten people hurt after all - a character story beat that Leverage Redemption picked up for her and continued beautifully.
The San Lorenzo Job is absolutely stunning. Sophie shines here (and yet again does not know how to keep out of sight at her own funeral) absolutely stunningly as she builds herself up as a sort of Princess Diana/Evita type before her "assassination" that helps seal the deal of their election theft scheme.
Season 4 tying itself so neatly back to the job that started it all when it turns out the rich dude trying to manipulate them is working with Dubenich. It's impressive how well they pull off the reveal. But he's not the only big call back to Season One we get here. Parker's Alice White persona and the friend she made - Peggy - come back. Hurley comes back.
The Van Gogh Job is the best, best, best of the season. It doesn't pull any punches in saying "hey, this romance we're doing between a white girl and a black man? that used to be illegal. It is in living memory that these relationships could get black men lynched by racists with little to no repercussions. And talented black men would have their achievements handed to white men because 'that's the way it was.'" It puts the main actors into the roles of characters in the past just to make sure it hits hard because we know these faces. We're emotionally attached to them. Holy shit this episode.
The Hot Potato Job where the problem kid of the school field trip Nate and Parker hijack just needed people to treat him like a person, not a problem, to behave well. The way he bonds with Hardison and helps them smuggle the potato out at the end? I love this kid, I want to learn he's working for Leverage International one day.
The Carnival Job where the mark's kid is kidnapped and they burn their con because a child's life is more important. Eliot fighting concussed and with his eyes shut because he will be damned if he fails to save this little girl.
The Grave Danger Job managing to be the best 'buried alive' plot I have ever seen on a tv show (and it is a staple plot of tv shows from the 90s/early 2000s). They steal a police car and an ambulance for the sirens. It gets series with Parker calling Hardison 'Alec' and being at the most emotional we've seen her all show.
The Office Job being done in the style of The Office (and then the mockumentary follow up in the behind the scenes featurettes) is just priceless.
The Girls Night Out/The Boys Night Out Jobs being so perfect in how they intertwine over the course of the same night.
The Radio Job showing us just how much Jimmy Ford loves his son.
The Last Dam Job giving us "my son would be ashamed of me for killing someone. My father? My father would buy me an ice cream." Dubenich ultimately destroying himself while Nate walks away.
Season 5 is my favorite season, though. It's the culmination of where the show was heading from the start. Parker has grown so much from the first season that she's able to run her own con - something Sophie and Hardison have both attempted and failed - and with the rest of the team out of town to boot. Parker and Hardison clearly got the brew pub as a gift for Eliot, while realizing he'd never accept if they don't reverse psychology him into it. Sophie buying the theater and finally discovering her talent for directing as well as overcoming the blocks that kept her from bringing her prodigious acting talent to the stage floor. Nate achieving the goal that's driven him since the start of Season Two.
I love the French Connection Job for giving us more Chef Eliot. His relationship with food is lovely and this is my favorite exploration of it. Parker finally learning to appreciate beauty in art because of how she grows to understand how Eliot connects with cooking and learns to appreciate the artistry that goes into food.
The Gimme a K Job hits home personally for me - one of my sister's best friends (who was also the older sister of one of my best friends) was a cheerleader who hit her head in a cheer stunt gone wrong where the spotter messed up. It took a very, very long time for her to truly recover from that concussion (and thus why I know tv shows are bullshit for having people just walk that off) and knowing her injuries might have been less severe if cheerleading safety were taken more seriously...
The DB Cooper Job being another excellent episode built around Flashbacks staring the main cast in different roles. Agent McSweeten has to know something is up with the Leverage Crew, but he clearly respects and admires all of them. Especially Parker.
The Broken Wing Job giving us Parker on her own putting together a temporary crew from the wait staff and pulling off a con all on her own, while injured. (The whole reason why she wasn't with the team, in fact.) And it's so damn impressive of her.
The Rundown Job being as close to confirmed Eliot/Parker/Hardison as we're going to get outside of word of god (which we have!!!!) and it's beautiful to watch them work together without Nate and Sophie. It's also foreshadowing for them working together when Nate and Sophie retire.
Similarly, The Frame Up Job gives us how far Nate and Sophie have come as a couple and is as close to Nate/Sophie/Sterling as we'll probably ever get. (No word of god on this one, just me being overwhelmed by Nate and Sterling's impressive divorced-couple vibes. They're more divorced than Nate and Maggie, who are actually divorced.)
The White Rabbit Job where they almost push too far with their gaslighting routine but Parker is able to save the day by connecting to their mark in a way she didn't know how to when the show began. Her character development is such a highlight of she series so the repeated payoffs in this season are just... golden.
Every single thing about The Long Goodbye Job. Once again, all the callbacks to previous seasons. Eliot/Parker/Hardison being heavily hinted at again. Sterling letting Nate go because Nate was right, no matter what the law says. Parker inheriting the lead of the team from Nate. Sophie performing on stage the same play from the pilot, but being excellent at it this time. The episode's whole plot - again, cannot stress this enough - being a callback/having been foreshadowed by the season 2 premiere.
As you can tell, I love this show. It's beautiful and incredible and I was so, so relieved when Leverage Redemption premiered and I could instantly see that they'd done the impossible all over again. They'd recaptured the magic of the original show.

General Postal Dude Sr Headcanons (Cool Facts)
Tumblr media
Just your average guy trying to survive the horrors
Favorite music genres are oldschool EBM, various metal, dark ambient, grunge, goth rock, goth industrial and surprisingly some classical(He won’t tell anyone though). Sometimes he’ll listen to straight up 90s gabber or noise on high volume with headphones on because it’s weirdly satisfying to him. It drowns out the noise that usually goes on in his mind
A few top artists for example: And One, Terrorfakt, Alice in Chains, Front 252, KMFDM and Type-O Negative
Was involved in the military at some point, hence the machine gun he somehow smuggled out. He was discharged during basic training as he couldn’t hide his depression and schizophrenia any longer. So, his next pick at a government job was the United States Postal Service
Has a sweet tooth that comes in waves. The Dude will go without it for a long while until a spike occurs for two weeks and he indulges in baked goods and a lot of candy. Airheads and Zots are his go-tos
He had a deep relationship with a woman for a while, but she couldn’t handle his impulsive nature and harshly dumped him. He didn’t take it well. However, little did he know that this woman would soon bring The Postal Dude Jr. into the world
Is surprisingly far more sanitary than his son. If he knew Jr was pissing on strangers and the absolute lack of organization his trailer has, he’d be so disappointed. Although Postal Dude Sr’s bedroom is scrawled with chicken scratch and scribbled black sharpie all over the wall
The Dude does in fact lift weights to keep up his bulk. Arms be very strong and well-sculpted
The Dude had his own website which looked like every edgy teens did back in the 1990s… despite him being in his late 20s. Lots of cool stamps showing off his cynical sense of humor, tons of dark red and skulls everywhere. This is where his war journal entries would be uploaded. In between is him talking about his favorite weapons, how to make molotov cocktails at home and infodumping about paranormal topics. Mothman is a wonder to behold
The Dude is mostly a shut-in. He may go out to run errands, play frisbee with his dog and scope out the alternative/goth nightclubs JUST for the music to hear new artists. But he otherwise feels most comfortable homebound.
One of The Dude’s favorite past times is what he calls “Junkin’”. This is when he runs to a junkyard to collect stuff that he finds neat. He also loves to take out his anger by shooting at scrapmetal and breaking glass
He might practice misanthropy, but he hates bigoted people (which are one of the many reasons he became misanthropic in the first place).
If he could make more money, he wishes to be able to travel to Japan. He thinks it looks beautiful over there and wonders if it’s more peaceful than the shithole town he’s stuck in
He can talk to the demon in his dreams. He often is afraid to sleep because of it, so he forces himself some nights to stay up all night until it fails and he crashes to sleep at 2am. It’s always taunting him how he’ll inevitably burn in hell unless he gives in his divine purpose to cleanse the Earth.

i'm suffering under the curse rn BUT. i am 3 episodes in to The Magnus Protocol and so far my thoughts are that it seems pretty good! on the one hand i should probably do my best to separate tmagp from tma but at the same time, i mean, the only reason i'm listening to tmagp is bc of prior attachment to tma, so it's interesting to me to contrast and compare them (though in all fairness it's been a while since i listened to tma).
the new cases are definitely cool so far in terms of allowing for more formats, i wonder if we're gonna get any future explanation for their eloquent presentation like we did in tma since idk if there's any hints so far at what the whole worldbuilding deal is with that so far in tmagp.
i will say that- do to the different formatting and immediate bigger cast who gets more focus and whatnot- tmagp feels more 'TV' in a certain way. which isn't a pejorative statement and i actually really dislike it when ppl assume something being 'TV' means it's low quality or shallow, lol. tmagp is a good example of something feeling 'TV' but it's a notable difference and is casting my mind back to the discourse/discussion about a tma tv adaptation and what that would look like back when archive 81 got one. i imagine it'd feel a lot more tmagp inspired.
cast is cool so far! i admire alice's actress for being able to pull of the extremely tumblrific dialogue (which i know is on purpose but was also VERY off-putting to me at first- it's the kind of thing that i love when written but spoken aloud in a fictional setting sometimes raises my hairs for some reason). i already love gwen, she's defs gonna be the toxic woman i get attached to and then regret it (assuming i listen to more episodes which i hope i do? i'm not great at it but i do like finishing things, my brain is just pulled into all directions rn if that wasn't already apparent). Colin you're great, i can't wait to watch you break down. Sam you're great too in a way that your personality rn makes me very excited for your potential future corruption arc (obligatory reminder i'm only 3 eps in and just making educated guesses based on what jonny and co did for tma, though i do acknowledge that there's a lot more fingers in the proverbial protocol pie rn)
in general i'm curious about the direction of the show, namely how they're gonna make it tragic in a way that's different to tma? bc i always maintain that the beauty of tma is the slowburn, and how everything happens so slowly that by the time you realise what path we're on, it's too late to stop any of it, and the more you learn about these people and this world, the more you realise it was always going to end like this, even if it didn't have to.
it's a tough feat to pull off and the inherently different structure of tmagp makes me wonder if they're gonna have to pivot what kind of tragedy this is. it's probably apparent right now to anyone who's properly caught up but as for me? i'm curious and cautiously interested. idk if i'm ever really gonna get involved with the fandom like i did with tma (bc that was a mostly great but also wild and formative experience for me and in general i'm bad at being multifandom no matter how much i wish i could be bc it would make my life sooo much easier. but unfortunately the shape of my autism (title of my new movie and/or hit single /j) does not allow for it with any ease. only struggle)
anyway i have an essay on political cinema to write so i really need to close this window lmao. will perhaps consider some kind of liveblog or sequel post to this as my listening progresses

Saw a confession speculating what will happen to Rhaenicent S2 onwards. Here was the take:
Alicent starts S2 slowly becoming disillusioned with Team Green, distancing herself from them.
This in turn triggers her redemption arc, leading to her reunion with Rhaenyra at Dragonstone.
Rhaenyra just lost Jace, she’s still raw from the pain and isn’t interested in making peace.
Alicent has to prove her loyalty and genuine remorse for what happened to Rhaenyra’s children.
She does this by helping Team Black seize Kingslanding.
Her only conditions are that Aegon is sent to the Wall and no harm comes to Helaena. She can’t ask for mercy for Aemond because of Luke, Rhaenyra will always choose her boys no matter what and she has to accept this.
As Nettles has been written out of the show, Alicent will be the cause for Daemyra’s marriage to start showing cracks. Daemon wants her dead but Rhaenyra refuses.
When Rhaenyra is killed by Aegon I it will be Alicent who witnesses instead of Aegon II.
Shell then avenge Rhaenyra by killing Aegon I herself.
Think it’s also better if she’s the one who proposes Aegon II and Jaehaera’s marriage instead of Corlys.
I can see this being Alicent’s storyline. What are your thoughts?
wow there's a lot here so i'm gonna go point by point
i don't think she's ever been fully illusioned by team green in the first place. i think she was scared and being pushed around and made a choice to crown aegon that she perhaps didn't even agree with while she was doing it
while i could see this being possible, i don't know. i think she's going to go to dragonstone to beg for peace, but i don't believe it is going to be a "redemption" arc in the usual sense
100% see this happening
no
no
though i like the idea of alicent waffling between both sides, i don't think she's going to go full team black like this. these terms may be a part of the original peace she attempts to broker, but i don't see her actively switching sides to help rhaenyra at the expense of her children
definitely see this happening. i think there are already a ton of cracks in the daemon/rhaenyra relationship just based on...everything about their relationship lmfao, but i do see alicent's life being a sticking point that perhaps sends daemon to harrenhall to hunt down aemond? juicy, unsure if it will happen, would find it hilarious if it did
i think you mean aegon 2 and 3 respectively, but i'm not sure. i think both of them can be there if the writers decide to have alicent present for rhaenyra's death
i honestly have no idea how they'll handle aegon 2's death. i could see alicent poisoning him for a number of reasons--from a mercy kill to resentment. i could also see someone else killing him (dyana perhaps?). despite it all, alicent does love her children, and i don't think she could bring herself to kill her first son in order to avenge rhaenyra, regardless of what he's done
could see this. don't think its that important tbh. all i know is that i'm waiting for the final line of the show to be alicent saying "i wish i were reading to rhaenyra under the weirwood like we did as girls"
i hope this made sense! i also hope i don't come off as dismissive or rude for some of these points, but i just genuinely don't see alicent as being able to plot against her own children entirely.
this is all speculation so take with a grain of salt haha

Slight Character Analysis for Daemon Targaryen!!
I do believe that Daemon Targaryen loves his family, I fully believe he loves them more than himself, only I also believe that it’s not the kind of love you’d usually associate with a brother/a son/a father.
It’s established quite blatantly in the show that Daemon is fiercely loyal to his house and subsequently to the historical culture of it too (whether this be the idea of incest, polygamy like Aegon the Conqueror, the Targaryen wedding rites, etc…) He lives for the Targaryen name, he fights for the Targaryen name, he loves in the Targaryen name, and he comes off extremely arrogant for it (which granted in no way do I deny that he is arrogant because he most certainly is). But it’s because of this intense loyalty to his own house that I stand by the fact that his love for his family is far more a contortion of dedication that it is actual familial love.
Take his marriage to Laena Velaryon, I do not doubt he cared for her just as he did for his daughters, but I also believe a significant factor of that was because they were of Valaryian descent just as the Targaryens were (and to him the marriage would have been the closest thing to dedicating himself to his house that he could get seeing as Viserys refused to marry Rhaenyra to him). It’s also very obvious in his relationship with his daughters, though I stand by the fact he most definitely cared for them, it’s clear that he favored Baela slightly more than he did Rhaena strictly because Baela had a dragon and Rhaena didn’t. Having a dragon and being able to ride it is the most defining factor of the entirety of House Targaryen, so it’s no surprise that when his own daughter bonds with a dragon of her own he immediately shifts attention to her because she is—to him—proved herself as a Targaryen (even if being a dragon rider is not something restricted to only the Targaryens!!)
Then there’s Rhaenyra and her children, and while it would be nice to believe he became a father figure to them once he finally married her, realistically that was probably not the case. However, despite this he does not outwardly ostracize or neglect them as one might think, instead he does the complete opposite and goes out of his way to defend them—but obviously not to the extent that Rhaenyra does as Daemon does recognize that they are Harwin Strongs kids and not Laenor’s. Regardless, this behavior only strengthens the idea that Daemons love for his family comes from a place of deep, deep dedication to his House as those are still Rhaenyra’s sons even if they’re bastards, and they still have dragons, and they still have claims set in place because of their birthright. It would have been so easy for Daemon to turn on them in the same way everyone else has, but instead he chooses to stand by them because Rhaenyra is the first and only child born from Viserys and Aemma, two Targaryens, and so consequently her children are more Targaryen than those of Alicent’s.
Of course, the further into this one goes the more complex and contradicting everything becomes, but for right now this is roughly of my understanding of Daemon’s character!!

hello I absolutely adore Imogen as a character and I'd like to talk about her a bit.
CW: Heartstopper spoilers for seasons 1 and 2
okay so Imogen's character's really interesting to me in the way that she sort of parallels Nick (mostly in season 2 but a bit in season 1 also).
in season 1, she's shown to be more popular. she's good friends with Nick and most of the rugby players and I'd assume probably has many friends at Higgs also. I see her depicted as a 'bad' person (more before season 2 was released than after) simply because she's one of Nick's love interests and it's odd to me?? it isn't like she really did anything wrong, excluding lying about being with Nick to Tara, Darcy and Elle. like yes sure she's friends with Harry, his lot, and later on Ben, but she's honestly not that bad. when she tells Tara and Darcy she's an ally (this is one of my favourite bits) she genuinely believes that she's doing the right thing. I'm not saying they have to be grateful or anything, but she doesn't know any better and she really is an ally.
sure, she can be a bit annoying, maybe a little overbearing but keep in mind she is sixteen years old. she has a crush, or at least she feels like she's supposed to, on a guy she's friends with. she asked HIM out, HE said yes. she didn't ambush him or anything, in fact I believe she didn't really want Harry and the rest of the group there when she asked Nick out. it wasn't her fault he felt pressured to say yes.
when Nick tells her he doesn't feel that way about her, she doesn't get angry with him or try and convince him to be. she accepts it, regardless of how much that has to hurt, and moves on. she doesn't even tell their friendship group that it's Nick's fault it didn't work out, she says SHE can do better. and she can. I love Nick, but she fully deserves someone who genuinely loves and is attracted to her as a person.
in season 2, it's shown that she's still good friends with Nick! she's moved on, she doesn't try and pressure or force him or anything. granted, the guy she develops a crush on isn't great, but she doesn't know that. when Nick tries to tell her, she (understandably) gets upset and I do not blame her. she believes Ben, the same way Charlie believed him when they started kissing and stuff, and that's not her fault. Ben is shown to be really good at manipulation.
when she ends up realising Ben sucks and hanging out with the 'Paris Squad' it's shown that she's much happier. I think my favourite part of this, however, is how close she grows with Sahar.
her breaking up with Ben was my FAVOURITE thing she's ever done it was such a good scene. it also shows how much she's grown as a person to be able to recognise she really does deserve better and needs to turn her focus back on herself.
her and Sahar help me circle back to when I said she parallels Nick because the situation is a bit similar. she and Sahar start off as friends. she believed Sahar was straight, and when she said so and Sahar got upset, you can see the confusion and panic on her face because she really does feel guilty for assuming and feeling like she's hurt Sahar, and it's shown that she follows her offscreen (showing she HAS been working on herself, btw). it's after that initial realisation that she starts looking at Sahar a bit differently.
the biggest one though is when she sees Sahar on stage (sort of like Nick with Charlie and his drums in the orchestra) and the bi flag coloured lights flash across her.
I think it just parallels nicely with Nick and Charlie's relationship because of the similarities (l cba to list them) in how their relationship began and how her's and Sahar's MIGHT begin (if we get a season 3 and thats a storyline Alice wants to pick up)
overall I think she and Nick are very similar (she also is very golden retriever ish) and she's such a good character and I'm glad she's in the show. she creates conflict (like the date in season 1 and Nick being anxious about telling her in season 2) but not so much that she can't be redeemed or loved as a person/character.
also!! I love that she did the ally to (potentially) queer person pipeline because that's a very realistic queer experience and it brings me a lot of joy to see that depicted onscreen.
dunno I've rambled enough and this honestly probably doesn't make much sense considering I've not slept but I hope you enjoyed this 🫶

can u plz elaborate on hinako and maples sisterly relationship! i would love to know more.. especially cuz it'd make the fact they swapping the yabusames even sadder 😯
for sure! they’re a super sweet (and super angsty *sweats*) dynamic to me, so i’m happy to elaborate!
sort of the main ‘kick off’ for their interactions is in the first trial. basically, hinako has the same first main trial (having to cooperate with someone else over another floor) but instead of being paired with alice, she’s instead paired with maple who handles the situation a lot differently. maple is very adamant on finding a way out for the two of them together, and so they’re both able to make it out alive! hinako is utterly baffled that someone actually wanted to help her so she’s stuck halfway between being grateful and being upset. meanwhile, maple is super concerned when she then wakes up with everyone else and hinako isn’t there (she went to hide in the locker 😔) because she thinks something must’ve happened.
when they do meet, though, maple sees this young girl who is clearly frail and struggling and her Big Sister instincts instantly kick in. she’s already used to caring for others in her daily life, so helping hinako out sort of helps her feel more ‘in her element’ (plus, she heavily empathizes with the girl)
hinako, on the other hand, is also in desperate need of a Big Sister figure as she’s been estranged from her actual big sister (fake hinako, who i dubbed hana) (because i didnt realize there was a manga character Also named hana.) (do u guys think i should just keep it or change it to something else 😭), and like. she was literally in the middle of running away from home when she got kidnapped. she’s overall just having a rough go of it
so they get along really well, and sort of end up being each other’s comfort as the death game progresses ^^ maple ends up being really protective of hinako when hana shows up (because she takes the place of ranger) and acts really cold, because she’s like “hinako doesn’t deserve any of this >:(“ (she doesn’t know hana was basically psychologically manipulated into suppressing her true emotions)
when maple gets switched out in the room of lies, hinako is the first person to notice something is off, but sort of like alice she brushes it off and chalks it up to maple being rightfully stressed in a dire situation. she figures, maple is maple, and she’s still a super kindhearted lady, so obviously nothing must be wrong.
aaaaaaand that of course brings us to the chap 2 subgame. i haven’t really talked much about the maple/hinako split route, but i think it’s interesting to me because of how Emotionally Devastating it is.
on the route where maple lives, she has to watch this 14 year old girl she came to see as her little sister Die in front of her. and of course she blames herself for it. because hinako was worried and coming to look for her, and she literally couldn’t do anything. i don’t think maple is ever really “the same” after this point, obviously she’s not a different person or anything but hinako’s death really alters her because it makes her realize her prior mentality of looking at the bright side just…doesn’t work in a situation like this. she is Super angry and vengeful against the floormasters, specifically (i haven’t really worked it out yet, but there might be a similar scene with her to the one where alice attacks gashu)
but the hinako route does Not lead to any salvation for these girls either because hinako has to watch both 1. her twin sister and 2. her big sister figure die in the span of…a minute, maybe? the girl she grew up with and always longed to reconnect with, and the girl who believed in her even in her darkest hour. she’s definitely Not happy about it. i do think the route takes a tiiiiny bit more of a positive spin though, because this marks the turning point of hinako steadying her resolve to fight for herself and others just like maple did.
sorry anon you probably wanted to know more about the fluffy parts of the dynamic and i just ended up supplying angst again 😔 i swear i’m not always this sad it’s just easy to make angst. but they really do have a sweet relationship (somehow i feel like it would be similar to what nao and kanna would act like together if they…ever actually had many interactions together.), it’s just cut short by the Narrative being the Narrative.

(@queen--kenobi ) Okay, I have a question. How do you think Aegon and Abby's relationship would be different if Harwin and Rhaenyra had been able to marry? Because like. I feel like people would see it as the Strongs trying to take over imho. Or do you think nothing in their relationship would change?
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION DAMN!
Okay okay okay hmmmmm We're going to be typing out all the thoughts so you can see my ADHD brain dance around to try consider what this looks like.
So if Harwin and Rhaenyra married (WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALLLLLL), that makes Abby the sister to the King-Consort (or would that make Harwin Prince-Consort since a King would be over a queen? That's not the question you're asking never mind). Which means that Abby is attached to the royal family more directly through her brother - since Abby is second cousin to Alicent (her mother being Alicent's first cousin).
So you would still have the split family loyalty here, but it would be far more in your face because Harwin's relationship with Rhaenyra isn't a secret. Abby is still of age with Helaena - Rhaenyra doesn't have daughters, so she still makes sense as a lady of hers (when she's older) but it would also make sense that Abby could ward with Rhaenyra or even become a companion of Baela and Rhaena (Abby and Rhaena are similar after all!) - to bolster those connections between House Strongaryen and the Velaryons who have been shafted by Rhaenyra not marrying Laenor/Laena not marrying the king.
Abby hands down becomes a stronger political pawn - the only reasons Alicent has to betroth Aegon and Abby are A) she is her brother's heir and B) Alicent feels like she can control her due to the length of relationship they had. If that's taken away, then Abby falls down that list. So Abby's going to be off making a political match to bolster Rhaenyra's support. The connection is just stronger.
So what does that mean for Aegon and Abby? I'm a fucking romantic through and through, so that red string of fate between those two will always exist in my heart and whatever world they co-exist in. Abby as a woman would likely serve as one of Rhaenyra's ladies (as she does canonically - don't forget I aged her down from her book counterpart!) and likely her husband would be on the small council in some fashion due to familial connections.
If Aegon is still stuck in the Red Keep (and again, I ask you, George, what were the boys meant to do??) Is he married to Helaena? Is he married to a Lannister or Baratheon? Is he serving as his sister's hand? (my favorite Rhaenicent fic, Cleopatra, has Aegon training beneath the guidance of his sister to eventually become her Hand and I'm feral for it). So I mean, if Aegon's intended to become his sister's hand, than marrying him and Abby neutralizes him on that front because he's married to his good-brother's sister. Aegon marrying into a Paramount family is dangerous in terms of people wanting to put him up against Rhaenyra - which is why you could say Viserys married him and Helaena in an attempt to neutralize that.
The thing is though, for these gen 2 kids (the targtower kids and the team black kids), you have a dearth of eligible girls, but not a lot of boys. So, going by the idea that maybe Aegon's groomed to be Rhaenyra's hand down the line - then yeah, you could still have them work.
For their relationship in general - they're just not as close as they are in my canon. Aegon follows his book/show path more so vs the veering off path through his relationship with her. But do they absolutely want to fuck each other/are still made for each other? Of course they do.
There's just so many ways this could go, with very interesting ways, but when it comes down to it: the aegon and abby relationship is just going to be so different. And Aegon's going to be different
I would love to hear your thoughts too! because god, it's a rich mine of what ifs which is why I write what I do lmao

👋 ^_^
So, since I can ask you any questions, here’s mine! ^^
Who is your favourite & least favourite character from:
Cartoon
Anime
Video Game
Comic/Manga
Etc
And why? ^^
OMT!Mina: Looks like we got our first question! Considering how obscure our stories seem to be compared to most, I'm honestly quite surprised.
CU!Sonic: Okay, let's see... @btnfstudios asks "Who is your favourite & least favourite character from cartoons, anime, video games, comics, etc., and why?"
OMT!Tails: Since there weren't any tags, I thought we'd take the question first to start things off. Sorry in advance that Antho, Brian and Devy couldn't be here for the question. They had some errands to attend to.
Nitro: That's fine. At least Smol Devy managed to get here!
Smol Devy: Hewwo! ^v^
OMT!Tails: Well, as it happens, aside from me idolising Benjamin, my favourite video game character's gotta be Alex Kidd. I really admire the effort he goes to to ensure his dad's safe from harm.
Nitro: Man, I really admire him for being able to do that, even when I couldn't...
OMT!Tails: (comfortingly) Solidarity, buddy.
Nitro: Anyway, if I was to pick between cartoon characters, I'd say I really admire Fluttershy's gentle and all-loving nature, even in the midst of danger. Trust me, you don't wanna be on the wrong end of her bad temper if she gets into one.
D-Sides Mighty: You know, I really dig Spider-Punk and his refusal to abide by society's perceptions and ideals. Reminds me of how my dimension's refusing to stick to a consistent "canon".
BK!Amy: If it's from my favourite anime, I've gotta go with Tohru Honda. I really enjoyed seeing her know that all bad things have to come to an end someday as well.
CR!Sonia: I don't really see much appeal in the cartoon characters that are solely girly and not much else.
CU!Sonia: Ditto. It's why I admire tomboy female characters from cartoons like Lana Loud, who's less enamoured with dresses and prefers activities the guys get up to like skateboarding.
Nitro: Heh, I remember she looks up to Ronnie-Anne a lot back home.
CU!Sonia: Wait, you used to live in the same town she did?
Nitro: Long story. I'll tell you later, if you'd like.
CU!Sonia: Of course!
CU!Sonic: You know, if a character in any of those media is in a healthy relationship with their loved ones, that's all I need to like for them. That, and good character development, of course.
Mr. Needlemouse: Favourite cartoon character? I am a cartoon character! (smug) What more needs to be said about me?
CR!Sonic: To be fair, you did end up on the list of "Top Worst-Behaved Cartoon Characters" recently.
Mr. NM: That again?! Remind me what I did again?
CR!Sonic: Well, blowing stuff up for the heck of it, you and Beeman being as bad as each other, hello?
EX!Alice: You know, I've really found an admiration for Blue Beetle, in a way. Seeing Batman go out of his way to see if he has what it takes to be a hero is such an honour not a lot of people get to experience.
OMT!Mina: I'd say Sam Sharp's my favourite. Rock and roll!
CR!Sonic: My personal favourite game character to this day? It's gotta be Mario! Dude's just saving the day just outta the goodness of his heart, you know?
Mini Sonic: Hmm, let's see... I'll opt for Green Lantern. I mean, come on! He can build anything just with that ring of his!
Wacky: You know, I've found Tintin to be quite the intrepid adventurer in his comics and film, especially when alongside his dog, Snowy.
Hog: What about Cuphead? Does he count?
Wacky: Well, he started as a video game, not a cartoon, though the similarities are there. Plus, he got his own TV show!
Hog: Cool! Where can I see it?
Wacky: Let's see... Ah, bummer. It's behind a Netflix subscription.
Hog: Hmph! If only there was a way to pirate that so I could watch it.
Nitro: I'm sure Lucia will figure out a way later.
Nine: My favourite in anime's definitely that guy from Fist of the North Star. I mean, he's almost unstoppable with those rapid-fire punches and hitting weak points. Omae wa mou shindeiru!
CR!Manik: I'm... gonna pretend I don't know what that means. Dad has really been getting me and Sonia into Wind in the Willows, one of those older British stop-motion cartoons. I particularly find Mr. Toad really hilarious to watch, haha! Poop-poop! The poetry of motion! What about you, Smol Devy?
Smol Devy: Me really likes Ana and Kat! They awesome ninja fwiends!
Trip: Hehe! Glad you're getting on well with them, little guy. I haven't seen a lot of that media before meeting my Team Sonic, but there's something I found appealing about Gromit, Wallace's dog; he's often the one to save the day when all those inventions Wallace makes either go awry or are vandalised by villains.
OMT!Tails: He really is an admirable character, even if he doesn't talk. And there you have it! Thanks for the question, Brendan!
Footnote
Nitro: Pst! I just wanted to throw in my part for the second half of that question for you, Brendan. For the "least favourite character" concerning cartoons for me, under the Looney Tunes lot, that title's absolutely going to Pepé Le Pew. His whole schtick is absolutely inappropriate by today's standards, and I'm glad I haven't seen him around Toontopia. As Vincent Alexander once put it, "If there's any moral to the cartoons, it's that if you act like Pepé, you stink." Well, thanks for the question, dude!

Baby (like 6yo) Elaena came down with Aeron when it was time for him to inspect the training yard (because he’s getting to be a Big BoyTM and will get to use a wooden sword and train with Kepa soon) and getting mad at some lord who asks why tf she’s there and so she just picks up the heaviest actual weapon she can wield and goes to town on his knees and Aemond, proud kepa that he is, has to figure out how to stop her from literally crippling a grown man.
She gets to go training with Aeron on the grounds that she not touch the real weapons again until she has a better strategy than “mafia boss the bitch”. Aemond asks if Vaella wants to join but she shakes her head, she doesn’t like how loud and busy the grounds are so he offers to show her self defense with some daggers when they’re back in their rooms where it’s quieter. She likes being able to do the dagger twirl thing with her fingers like he does.
Also Elaena totally sneaks into a tourney one day under some random knight’s name and is only found out when there’s a tie in sword fighting between her and Aeron and she finally takes off her helmet. Aemond and Y/N are both jumping and screaming in the stands. It’s the only tourney they’ve ever given a shit about. Alicent is fucking MORTIFIED.
And omg I saw your “Sapphire Princess” addition a few back that is so adorable Vaella 100% goes with it. When she’s really little she gets upset because she overhears Aemond and Y/N discussing replacing his prosthetic because it’s worn down and she’s convinced that they’re Taking Her Kepa’s Eye and loses it but they finally calm her down and explain he just needs a new one and they take the old one and get it cut into an actual gemstone shape to make her a necklace that she literally never takes off because it’s part of her Kepa.
BESTIE first of all, thank you for taking the time to write such detailed thoughts!!!! I'M SCREAMING giggling kicking my feet reading all of this, it's actual gold!!!
ELAENA GO OFF! Actual queen at 6 years old, going to town on a grown man's knees for disrespecting her lmao, I love it!!! Also, baby Vaella all happy being able to do the twirly thing like Aemond??? ugh, my heart!!
That scenario of Elaena and Aeron in a sword match and her taking off her helmet OMG YOUR MIND, it's so cinematic!! and she absolutely would! Ok but, who would win though?? because that would be the closest match ever. After all, they've been trained by the actual best. All the tricks in the book that Aemond has advised them to use on their opponent is being used against each other! This is seriously so cinematic friend, I love you forever for coming up with this, it is genius.
ME READING THE BIT ABOUT VAELLA FOREVER HAVING A NECKLACE WITH HER KEPA'S SAPPHIRE:
Tumblr media
OH JESUS
s;lfklkjlkjg ok and when she gets her necklace, THAT's when they commission someone to paint their portrait. With Aemond's brand new one in place, and the old sapphire eye proudly hanging from Vaella's neck.
