Hiii
I was just wondering how would Aemond and his love react to their kid being hurt and losing their eye potentially. Maybe it’s so so but eventually they say they couldn’t save the eye and so due to infection or whatever they had to remove it.
How would the kids siblings act?
Would Aemond see them come together to protect their sibling and see what he wished his brother and siblings did for him that night he lost his eye.
I imagine he would make sure he wasn’t like Viserys. He would make sure his kid was okay and protected but also justice. There would be justice.
Imagine if it was his daughter 😱 his little princess. His little dragon. It would hurt him so much. Imagine if in her sweet little voice “it’s okay kepa and muna. I can look like kepa now and have my own eye patch. Like the pirates in the stories.”
Or something like that. I can practically hear Aemonds heart break.
I am so so so sorry this is so long. I just thought that your dad Aemond stuff is so Damn good and you would make an awesome fic out of ideas like above. I know they suck and you get much better ideas from people but this just popped in my head. I hope you have a great day. ☀️
OK FIRST OF ALL, sorry it took me so long to get to this, my brain just hasn't been working these days but ahhhhh, second of all, HOW DARE YOU DROP ME ALL THIS ANGST. IT HURTS. BUT IT HURTS SO GOOD. I don't have the brain capacity for a fully fleshed out fic, but I can offer you this humble drabble...CW: angst ahead, but it's brief and followed by a lot of fluff and the injuries aren't explicitly described.

The Sapphire Princess (drabble) • (King!Aemond Targaryen, dad!Aemond)
Tumblr media
...For this scenario, I'm imagining Aemond is king, and he has his three children I’ve talked about before, Elaena the eldest, and the twins, Aeron and Vaella. Elaena and Aeron are his protectors while everyone in the kingdom knows that the youngest of the twins, Vaella, is the most attached to her father out of the three children.
Vaella is the sensitive one, the soft child in a household of strong-willed children. The one who's always holding onto Aemond's hand. She's not his protector in the same way that Elaena and Aeron are, it's like Vaella's got his father's heart under her care. Everyone used to say that the prince had a black heart. But not anymore, not the king. His children are to thank for it. Out of his two daughters, while Elaena wears practical clothing, ready for combat, Vaella is known for wearing sapphire blue dresses, the color of her father's prosthetic eye. Because of this, she's known as 'the sapphire princess', and she's very loved by all.
She's the perfect target for those wanting to hurt the King - hit him where it hurts most. A single scratch to her beautiful face, a face that's the mirror image of the Queen, it's enough to ignite King Aemond's fury.
So one night, The Red Keep goes aflame. Princess Vaella is nowhere to be found in the dead of night. You can only hear the thunderous growling of King Aemond, his stomping steps reverberating against the stone floors of the palace as he commands Elaena and Aeron to lead the King's Guard in search of her dearest daughter, just as he rides Vaghar to watch over the Kingdom from above.
The search isn't an arduous one, but it is dooming. It is gut-wrenching; Elaena feels as though his heart has been ripped from her chest when she finds her young sister, wailing in pain all doubled over herself in one of the alleyways of flea bottom. Aeron kneels down, feeling weakened at the sight, feeling his twin's stabbing pain as his own.
Young Vaella Targaryen's left eye has been taken, like her father before her. Elaena takes her sister in arms, just as Aeron takes the lead of the king's guard in order to find the culprit. Seek and destroy is the order.
Elaena feels desperate and weak, but she holds on to her strength as she carries her sister all the way to the Maesters. The Queen weeps and clutches her silk robes at the sound of Vaghar's growls in the sky. From the windows of the palace, one could only see a spear of Dragonfire cutting through the sky like Vaella's own facial wound. The enemies of the king have been destroyed.
Aemond rushes in but paralyzes on the spot. The sight that greets him is taunting and cruel, bringing back flooding memories that are as vicious as the bloodshed outside. "My sweet dove..." he laments as he reaches his queen and children, who form a protective circle around Vaella.
"Father..." she croaks out, barely able to speak with the Maesters working on sewing her scar shut. Where once Princess Vaella used to look like a carbon copy of her mother, now it's as though Aemond is looking at a vivid image of his past self.
Aemond takes her hand, squeezing tightly. "The ones responsible have been annihilated, ñuha jorrāelagon. You don't need to fret. Your family is with you."
"Don't mourn me, kepa." She murmurs, as a single tear escapes her big doe eye, "You were strong enough to endure, and so will I. The bravery in your blood is the same that courses through my own veins. Now my Sapphire nickname is as true as ever."
It doesn't stop Aemond from crying, and grasping onto Vaella's delicate hand as if she'd evaporate in the blink of a weary eye.
"You've got something your father lacked, back then, my darling." Her mother's tone is both comforting and laced with the ferocity that could make anyone believe in miracles. Vaella's mother speaks to her, but also to the younger version of Aemond, the one that wished he'd had someone other than his mother to defend him.
"You have us. We will nurture you back to health. It won't be easy, my dove. But we'll be there."
Elaena and Aeron stand beside their parents, wiping off their tears and replacing the somber look on their faces with hopeful smiles. Vaella couldn't see them sad, she needs her siblings healthy and strong.
The months passed, and the road to recovery was long, with days when the pain is blinding for Vaella, and her cries can be heard all throughout the Red Keep. Days where the King can be seen starring idly at nothing at all as if lost in a sea of memories. There were days when Aeron and Elaena sat on the iron throne, for the King wanted nothing but to spend the day nestled in bed, cuddling his daughter. And days when kepa and muña could be spotted in the gardens, helping their daughter train with the sword so that she'll never again be unarmed and unable to defend herself.
A year later, a portrait of the royal family was commissioned. At the iron throne, sat the king. Flanking his left, stood Elaena and Aeron. The Queen, ever-present to the king's right. And in the front, sat by the king's knee - like a ripple of the King's image - Vaella, The Sapphire Princess. Neither the father nor the daughter wore their respective eye patches, proud to display their shared symbol of resilience.

Children of the dragon
Warnings: Incest, sexual content, child birth, swearing
Pairing: Aegon II Targaryen × Targ oc, Minor Aemond Targaryen × Targ oc
1.04
“Perhaps the prince would like to leave the room to give the midwives a chance to-”
“Don’t you dare fucking leave me!” You hiss, squeezing Aegon’s hand, and you stare daggers at the maester. “He’s not leaving my side.”
Reluctantly, the maester nods, swiftly leaving the room to no doubt report back to your mother, who was waiting at the door. She seemed more concerned that Aemond was nowhere to be found than you. The midwives had managed to spin your baby to the right way round, which reduced your chances of dying while giving birth breech.
Aegon hadn’t once left your side.
As the midwives ordered you to push, Aegon stood behind you, his forehead pressed against your crown, whispering words of encouragement and a promise to keep you safe while you held onto both of his hands tightly, screaming and crying as your first child entered the world.
“It’s a boy,” the midwives tell you as they wrap your screaming baby in a blanket, wipe his face, and then place him in your arms.
You sob at how tiny he is; “it’s a boy. My beautiful boy.” You stare down at him, admiring all his small features, until you feel sharp pains in your stomach and say, “Fuck! Aegon take him!”
“What?”
“Just take him!”
Nervously, Aegon takes him from your arms and into his; as soon as he does this, you grip the sheets, holding back on screaming again as you deliver the afterbirth. Afterwards, you stand up to let the midwives clean the bloodstained sheets, and you notice they keep looking at Aegon and then each other, clearly confused at why he is there.
Aegon was so mesmerized by the baby in his arms that he hadn’t noticed you’d gotten up and changed until you winced in pain getting back into bed. With a proud look on his face, he places the baby back into your arms and then kisses you on the forehead.
Moments later your mother enters the room; she shoots Aegon a disapproving glare when she sees him sitting on the foot of the bed, his hand resting on your leg, but smiles when she sees your baby for the first time. “He’s precious,” she says, brushing damp strands of hair out of your face. “I’m so proud of you, my darling. Have you and Aemond thought of a name?”
“Aeron.”
The room falls silent. You and Aegon stare at each other, and a flicker of understanding passes between you.
Your mother lets out a sound of delight. “I think the name Aeron will fit him well.”
Once your mother left, a wet nurse arrived, offering to take Aeron and feed him. You shake your head and say, “Thank you, but I’m going to do it myself.”
The wet nurse looks bewildered. Breastfeeding was deemed an inconvenience, and it would apparently stop you from getting pregnant again while doing it, but you didn’t care. You wanted to feed and connect with your newborn, which shouldn’t have been a problem, but the idea of it had caused the other women in the room to fluster. The wet nurse looks between you and the midwives. You became irritated and let out a sigh of annoyance.
Tracy, your handmaiden smiles sweetly at the wet nurse and says, “You may go.”
An older midwife tries to intervene. “My lady, it is known that-”
“Princess Theodora,” Aegon says sternly.
Her jaw clenches as she struggles to keep a polite smile on her face. “Princess, I believe it would be better if you hand the babe over to the wet nurse for now so you can rest.”
You had only given birth hours prior, and already they were seeking to control how you parented. If you lost control now, you would never regain it, and you would simply not allow that to happen.
“My child will be staying by my side, and his cot will be brought through to my chambers so I can tend to him overnight.”
The midwife's blank facial expression changed to one of horror. “I must insist—”
“Everyone out!” you snap.
“And if anyone has issue with the princess's choices, you can take them up with me, the firstborn son of King Viserys, or you can ask the Queen her opinion on the matter,” Aegon adds.
The midwives scurry to gather their belongings and leave. Tracy tried to hide her amusement, saying, “I will have someone move his belongings from the nursery to your bedroom right away.”
“Thank you,” you say sincerely.
When the room is empty, you look at Aegon, trying not to laugh, and ask, “The first son of King Viserys?”
He shrugs, smirking, “It worked, didn’t it? Pay them no mind. He is our-your son. He’ll grow up knowing nothing but love.”
You look down at the helpless baby in your arms and tear up. You’d never imagined you’d feel so much love at once or the urge to protect. Aeron was innocent and pure, you’d spend the rest of your life trying to shield him from the badness in the world.
Aegon kisses the back of your head, saying, “I was so scared when you started bleeding; I thought I might lose you. Both of you… I promise I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him safe, even if it means pretending he isn’t mine.”
His voice is weak from trying to hold back tears. It never occurred to you when you first made love to Aegon how much was to be caused further down the line. But looking at your son's small, lilac eyes, you know you wouldn’t change it.
“If Aemond ever finds out Aeron is yours, he'll burn King's Landing to the ground.”
“Don't worry, he won't find out.”
—-
“Aegon!” You empty a cup of water over him. “This is serious, wake up!”
Rubbing the water from his face, he scowls up at you. His voice is laced with irritation as he looks around the room and asks, “Where are the children?”
“In bed, it’s nighttime.”
“Unless you’ve woken me to show me your sweet cunt, I’m going back to sleep.”
He was drunk. You kneel down so you are level with him. “Aemond will be here soon; you need to go. If he finds you here-”
Aegon slurred his words and waved his hand, motioning to the chair he was lying in. “He’ll what? Assume I walked into the wrong bedchamber and passed out.”
“He’s getting suspicious. If he starts to believe the rumours…you know not to come here when he wants to spend time with me.”
Aegon sits up, his greasy hair flops over in front of his face, and he always drinks heavily when Aemond wants to try for another child. When Aeron turned one, your husband suggested having another, and just over nine months later you gave birth to twin girls, Alina and Alyssa. Of course, they shared the same father as their brother.
“Spend time with you—you mean he wants to rut into you and fill you with seed.”
You hated how crude his language choice could be at times, “You need to go now.” You scrunch your nose up when Aegon leans his head against your chest, “and take a bath. You stink of ale.”
“This wasn’t a part of our plan; you can’t have any more children. Not now.”
Hearing the pain in his voice broke you. You blink away tears that threaten to build up, kissing the top of his head, “I know, I know, and I won’t.”
Aegon had begged you to leave King's Landing and start a new life somewhere the name Targaryen means nothing, and you did consider it until rumours of you and Aegon fucking in a brothel spread. Although it wasn’t true, the rest of your family became more suspicious of the time you spent with your brother.
You watch happily as Aegon plays with your son in the garden. It surprised you how protective he was over Aeron and your newborn babies. Hearing footsteps approaching, you look over your shoulder and smile, “You look lovely today, mother. We missed you at breakfast this morning.”
“Thank you, and I was praying to the gods for guidance.”
Hearing Aeron let out a cry, you spun around fast to see your son being scooped up into Aegon’s arms. He had tripped over a small rock, scraping his knee. Aegon soothes him by stroking his hair and kissing him on the cheek. A moment later, Aeron was placed back on the ground and returned to exploring the garden.
“Where is Aemond?”
You shrug. “I do not know, but I’m sure he won’t be far.”
Most days, you just saw Aemond in passing at meal times and formal events. He only visited your bedchambers when he wanted to create another heir or was frustrated.
Your mother looked at you and then into the garden. Her face settled into one of worry. “Parenthood is hard; it takes some fathers longer to adjust.”
“I don’t doubt Aemond loves the children.”
“A mother's love is different,” she squeezes your hand. “And an uncle’s as well, apparently. They are very lucky to have so many people taking care of them.”
You frown at her; your mother's tone has changed from neutral to cold and accusing. “If Aegon wishes to tell my children about dragons, Targaryen history, and bedtime stories, even if they are too young to understand them, then so be it. It's more than Aemond does.”
“And why is that?”
Her question was simple but loaded. She wasn’t willingly blind like your father; being queen, she had learned how to be sleek, observant, and cunning. She knew the truth but didn’t dare outright ask.
“Why don’t you ask him?”
It might have been possible for you to sneak out of King's Landing with Aeron without raising suspicion; you would have claimed to be taking him with you while dragon riding, but after delivering twin girls, it became impossible. You wouldn’t be able to ride with all three children safely, and the moment someone noticed Sunfyre riding alongside Dallax, the consequences would be dire.
A knock at the door causes you to jump back just as Aemond enters the room. He looks between you and Aegon and rolls his eyes. “Lost and wondering again?”
“Piss off.”
Aemond smirks, enjoying seeing his brother in such a state. “You should sleep it off,” you say softly. “Come on, we should get you back to your own bedchamber.”
“Allow me,” Aemond brushed aside, pulling Aegon to his feet. “Come, brother, I doubt my wife wants to spend time with you at this time of night.”
You hold your breath, waiting to hear Aegon’s drunken response, but he says nothing. It’s not until you meet Aemond’s gaze that you realize it was more of a question than a comment.
You try to laugh it off as a joke. “I’m going to bathe before bed, so I'd rather you both left.”
Aegon smirks at your response.
Aemond simply nods his head, turns the other way, and leaves with Aegon without saying another word.
You rub at your skin, desperate to get the smell of Aegon off you. Usually you loved the smell of your lover lingering in the air, but not when Aemond was around. You always feared he’d smell Aegon on you. The thought of how paranoid you’d become almost made you laugh out loud. Most of the time, you were invisible to your husband; if you ever did leave, he would be the last to notice.
In the years you’d been married, he had yet to show any real interest in being your husband, which is why your affair with Aegon was so easy to carry on despite the guilt that occasionally overwhelmed you. It wasn’t until you gave birth that you understood your mother's comment. Aemond would always put the family name first, but Aegon would put you first.
Your relationship with Aegon wasn’t just based on sex, although he had become addicted to fucking you like he claimed he would. He would take you anywhere he could, and not just with his cock. He loved using his mouth and fingers to make you scream and beg for him. But the way he made you feel safe and loved was the best part; he adored all three of your children. Your days were spent playing with your children, riding dragons, or sitting beside him reading or talking. But you knew if anyone else found out, they would never understand.
Once you finished bathing, you waited for a couple of hours, but when Aemond didn’t return, you decided to go to bed. After changing into a nightdress and unbraiding your hair, you crawl underneath the bed sheets, feeling your eyes heavy. It didn’t take long for you to fall asleep.
Feeling a dip in the bed beside you, you turn to see what's going on, and you’re shocked to see Aemond getting in the bed. The moonlight was the only source of light, making it hard to read the expressions on his face. “Aemond, what are you doing?”
You freeze, feeling his lips press against yours. “I am your husband.”
You’re taken aback by the playfulness in his voice; it's an unfamiliar sound. You remained stunned as Aemond started kissing your neck. Your shared intimate moments usually consisted of you lying fully dressed while Aemond did what he needed to quickly. The kisses shared were usually out of curiosity, and foreplay wasn’t something you’d ever done before.
Aemond gently pushes you back onto the bed before removing his clothes. He lay back down beside you and resume kissing your neck while his hand caresses your breast. “I’ve never seen you before,” he says, his breath sounding ragged. “Not truly, not all of you.”
You gasped when he pulled down the front of your nightdress so that your breasts were on full display. Aemond sits back and pushes the fabric up to your hips, but for the first time, he actually looks down at your sex instead of avoiding it. He mumbled something you can’t make out then kissed you, his hand running up and down your thigh.
You cup the side of his face and sigh, “You don’t need to do this. You don’t need... do more than you want.”
“You are my wife,” Aemond says, moving to cup your warm slit, his finger teasing the entrance. “I must admit that I have neglected my duties in attending to your needs.”
Something inside you stirs—an emotion you can’t place.
“Tonight I’m going to put another heir into you.” Aemond slides a finger into you, kissing you at the same time.
Not knowing what to do with your hands, you place them gently on his back. Aemond withdraws his finger and lines himself up with you, then slams into you. Removing his lips from yours, he takes as much of your breast into his mouth while squeezing the other with his free hand. You arch your back and let out a small moans he takes you roughly.
Aemond doesn’t last long and cums quickly, pressing his head against yours and breathing heavily. He pecks you on the lips, pulling out and rolling to his side. You wait for him to leave, but when he closes his eye, you realise he has no intention of going. You face the other way, close your eyes, and pray that morning comes quickly.
You collapse onto the bed, panting and gasping; Aemond was most definitely determined to get you pregnant. At first, you weren’t overly worried because you had plenty of time to drink moon tea, but it was now much more difficult considering he had sex with you twice since waking up.
You wanted to know what brought on this unusual behavior. You wanted to ask Aemond why he even wanted another child when he hardly saw the three he believed were his. He didn’t return from his travels for over a week the last time you gave birth; he briefly visited the twins in their nursery then left again.
“You don’t sleep well, do you?” Aemond asks while putting his clothes back on.
“No, the dreams I have keep me awake.”
Aemond looks intrigued. “Do you get them often?”
Growing up, your brothers would mock you and Helaena; they would call you weird. Of course Aegon stopped long ago; he was the only one you ever truly confided in. “Yes, I’ve been having the same one for years.”
“What do you see?” Aemond sat down on a chair facing the bed; he seemed serious. “In the past, I never listened, but I’m asking you to trust me enough to tell me.”
You feel ashamed. Aemond wasn’t a bad person; he just didn’t love you or your children. “It’s hard to describe. It’s not just what I see; it’s what I feel,” You clutch a pillow to your chest. “I’m in the sky, surrounded by clouds. The sun is shining down on me, and then it disappears. Then I’m falling, and I feel this intense feeling that's trying to suffocate me, like a weight being pressed down on my chest. Then I hear it—a woman screaming. I think she’s dying because her whole world turns black.”
You don’t realize you’re crying until the wetness runs off your cheeks. Feeling awkward, you wipe them away. Aemond gulps, “I’m sorry; I never realized your nights were plagued by such images. Do you ever have other dreams?”
“Yes, I had a vision of our nephew Jace dying. So I sent a raven to Dragonstone, making sure he was okay.” It wasn't until you became a mother that you understood your family's hatred towards your nephews was pointless.
He seems surprised by your honesty. “Well, I’m sure your mind will be at rest knowing he is alive. But I don’t think you should waste your generosity on them, and I definitely don’t want Aeron interacting with bastards.”
“Your fight with the Velaryon boys is not mine, and it’s definitely not my children’s.” Aemond glared at you but didn’t argue. You let out a deep breath, feeling exhausted. “Speaking of the children, I should probably go check on them.”
“I’m sure our dear brother has beaten you to it,” he snorts. “I should thank him really. He gave me some good counsel last night, which was surprising given the state he was in.”
“What did he say?”
“Something along the lines of how ungrateful I was and that I needed to cherish you before you were gone for good. I assured him I wouldn’t let you or the children out of my sight from now on, in case you disappear,” he chuckles darkly. “But he did make me see that I need to make more of an effort, and now that I’m here, he won’t need to be around you or them so much.”
The emotion you couldn’t place before returns, but now you can name what it was.
Fear.
Horrible, agonizing fear that something terrible was going to happen.

DAYS passed after Aegon invited Reina to walk with him around the garden and the red keep.
Reina was now in her chambers, sitting on a chair in her room. she sighed, her hands covering her face, all she could think was what went wrong? this is certainly not the Aemond she knew.
how could he blatantly bring Alys and let her roam around the Red keep? knowing fully well that they might bump into their children.
a knock was heard from outside of the door, she opened the door revealing Odette, “Odette? what brings you here?” her handmaiden bowed “prince Aemond is asking for your presence, Aeron and Aeryn were looking for you.” she said.
Reina stood up, with an uncomfortable smile “i...if you are not comfortable princess, I can tell prince Aemond that you are busy” Odette bit her lip, “it’s okay, I will go.” Rein held Odette by her hand as they both went to Aemond’s chamber.
once they reached the chamber, the guard who was guarding it opened the door revealing Aemond laughing merrily while playing with their children, but all Reina could see was Aegon’s face instead of his.
he looked up at the door way, Aemond cleared his throat seeing Reina and her handmaiden standing in front of him.
“wife,” he stood up, stretching out her hand…hoping she’d reach it. “Aemond? you called me?” she refused to use the title “husband” to call him. after all…he never acted like one.
“i..i, the children were looking for you. they wanted to show you the toys” Reina looked down at her children playing with the toys. She smiled just by looking at them.
she went and kneeled down beside her daughter Aeryn. “mama, look! dragon! dragon!” Aeryn showed her mother the dragon Aemond got custom made for her.
Aemond looked down at her daughter proudly, “i miss you and dada together” their son, Aeron said..or more like a mumble. Reina turned to him “what? did you say something sweetling?”
“i miss you and dada sleep together, in one bed!” his little finger showed the number 1 Reina’s heart melted. “do..do you hate dada?” her eyes widened at her son’s words.
“i..” she turned to Aemond then back at Aeron, something has caught up her throat as she was unable to speak. Suddenly, it became hot, she was sweating. “well..” Aemond stared, kneeling in front of Aeron.
“your mother and i have no more space in our bed..” he looks at her “since..you! you and your sister always jump and sleep in our bed every night!” he thought of an excuse. Reina sighed out of relief wanting to thank Aemond.
“really?” Aeron asked, his father nodded “you two are growing bigger and taller everyday! you do not fit in our bed anymore” Aeryn then spoke up “then! you and mommy sleep in one room again and we promise not…not to sleep and jump in your bed again!” she raised her hand, Aeron following.
they were eager to have their parents in one room again, which was impossible. “we will see, okay? now. go change with Odette” he replied as he stood up, watching Aeryn and Aeron leave.
“i am not sleeping in our shared chamber,” Reina spoke up as the kids left, “i do not agree with it” she shook her head “what do you mean you don’t agree with it?” he cocked his head to the side “Aeryn and Aeron would want to see us in one bed! together! did you not hear them?” he raised his voice.
“do not!” she pointed at him, stepping closer “raise your voice at me! i will do anything just not to share a bed with you ever again!” “it is not like i give a shit wether you agree or not, you have mo choice, Reina” he stepped closer to him. “after all..” he leaned closer to her face “you are just a mere wife, attending to your duties like the good wife you are” he whispered, a smirk evident in his face.
“i..i would rather be with Aegon right now than to spend the night with you!” she yelled at him suddenly, she wasn’t thinking why she said it, she just blurted it out for some reason.
Aemond’s whole body became hotter, he was fuming. his wife, she is his wife! how could she pick his brother over him!
he walked towards her, his hand on her throat, choking her “you will do no such thing!” he raised his voice even more, “i..i..” she couldn’t speak, the tight grip of Aemond made it hard for her to speak up.
there would be a hand mark on her neck in the morrow.
“what? what?” he pulled her closer by the throat “you are no whore, Reina. you are my wife! mine!” he tightened his grip “but if you want to be a whore and go with my brother! then so be it!” he pushed her back sending to bumping to the wall.
a part of him had his heart broken at what his wife said, but the other part of him was burning mad at how she picked his brother over him.
he was the better sibling, he was the one who learns history and philosophy, the one who’s better at swordsmanship, he was better in a lot of things than Aegon. but yet, she still picked the latter.
“form now on, we will both move in our shared chamber, whether you like it or not” he helped her stand up, but Reina shook her head “no, no! i refuse to sleep on the same bed you use to fuck Alys in” she shook her head again, tears streaming down her face.
his face widened “i..” Reina let out a scoff “see? guilty” she brushed the dirt off her dress. “how can you call me yours when you put your cock in someone other?” she looked up at him, her eyes now red from the tears.
“you do not even love me, so why do we need to force each other to be in one room when we both know that it will never work” Aemond was speechless. “because i love you!” he suddenly blurted out.
“…what?” Reina stopped, it seems like her whole world stopped. “you? love me?” “do you not believe me?” Aemond questioned, “husband, if you really do love me. Then Alys will not be in the picture.” she paused “if you love me, Alys wouldn’t even exist in our lives. So you do not love me” Aemond stopped, he was speechless.
“are you questioning my love for you?” he took a step forward, Reina shook her head “no. i’m questioning the non-existent love you said you have for me” she smiled, a not-so innocent smile at that.
she wasn’t intimidated by him anymore, after all she is the daughter of Rhaenyra and Daemon.
“i will take my leave, your mother is expecting me” she curtsied then left his chambers.

after the commotion that morning, Reina was called to dine with her family for lunch, receiving the news by her handmaiden, she stormed out of her chambers holding her head high as she made her way to the dining hall.
unfortunately, bumping into Aemond and Alys on the way, so this is the Alys girl. Reina thought to herself, it was her first time ever seeing the girl. Alys’ long black hair, and beautiful green eyes, she is beautiful. no wonder Aemond cannot get over her.
“she looks like a witch” she muttered very quietly, hoping no one heard her.
“Wife.” Aemond spoke without any emotion, greeting her “Aemond, Lady Rivers” she did the same, not even trying to hide her disappointment. “princess,” Alys bowed at her showing a half genuine smile.
“lady Rivers, i heard so much about you” she showed a thin smile, Aemond knew where this was going, he knew how his wife had a sarcastic personality. “good things, i hope” “oh of course,” she hums.
“though, i had heard that you were a bastard of Lord Lyonel Strong? or maybe i heard wrong” Reina squinted her eyes, her. index finger tapping her lips, “well, i cannot help it but tell you, Aemond. i had never thought of you as a man who would love a Strong bastard, seeing at how much hatred you had for my siblings. it is very unpredictable of you” she let out a laugh, seeing Aemond’s face furious is entertaining to her.
“i do not think it is your business to question my birth, princess” Alys replied, her tone making Reina stunned, “well, you know, people nowadays. spreading such false rumor about one’s birth, tsk tsk” she shook her head, “i know princess, there is so many things wrong with the people” Alys agreed, “you are right Alys, especially stealing a married man? can you believe it!” Reina has her eyes wide before clapping.
oh, the look on Aemond’s face makes Reina want to laugh hysterically. “well, i must not bother you anymore, for mother had called me in for lunch. it was great meeting you, Lady Rivers” Reina let out her most beautiful smile anyone has seen, “you too, princess” Alys bowed before they walked the opposite direction of each other.
“whore” Reina rolled her eyes muttering the words as she walks closer to the dining hall.
opening the doors of the dining hall, she was greeted by her mother-in-law, Aegon, Helaena and her children. “good morning, Reina. come sit, we have been waiting for you” said Alicent, Reina took a seat across Aegon, seeing his face after that night makes her want to throw up.
“where is Aemond?” Alicent looked around, “i saw him with his whore” Aegon said, day drinking again. “now that i think of it, i have never seen you sober, brother” said Reina looking directly at Aegon.
a smirk grew on Aegon’s lips “i could try, if you want me to” “no thank you”
Alicent cleared her throat “Aegon, what whore?” “mother?” “Aegon, what whore?” she raised her voice a little. “the black haired girl, the one with green eyes. the um” he snapped his fingers trying to remember the name “oh! oh! the witch!” he smiled.
Alicent sighed, looking at Reina who looked back with disappointment, “i’m sorry Reina, i truly am.” she held the younger’s hand, “it is alright mother, he could do whatever he wants. for he is prince” Reina sadly smiled, “you do not deserve this, i will speak to him about the matter” replied Alicent.
“mother, i think it is better if we just let it slide for the mean time.” “Reina, you’re his wife this is unacceptable-” “he’s happy, mother. i had never seen him this happy since then, she makes him happy.” Reina interrupted Alicent.
“you do not deserve this, my daughter” she squeezed Reina’s hand.
Reina spent the afternoon out in the gardens with her children, “Aeron! Aeron! no!” Reina and Odette chased the little boy who was running to a pond, but before he could a pair of hands carried him.
“gotcha” the guy laughed, Reina sighed out of relief, walking closer to the person. “thank you, Aegon” she smiled lightly at him. “no worries” he gave a smile back, “fish! fish! i want fish!” Aeron pointed at the pond, “what do you want? hm?” asked Aegon.
“fish! fish!” Aeron kept pointing, “you want to play with the fish?” Aeron nodded, “i’ll have the kingsguard fetch some fish food for him.” Aegon said to Reina then calling the kingsguard.
Reina watched them in awe, looking at how Aegon plays with her son and daughter, she had never seen Aemond like this. maybe because whenever she tried to, he would say he wanted to spend time with them alone.
“look! look! the fish is eating it? did you see?” Aegon sat on the grass, with Aeron sitting on his lap and Aeryn sitting beside them. “fishie fishie, here. food!” Aeryn threw the fish food at the pond, she laughs while clapping her hands when she saw the fish eating it quickly.
maybe during that time, Reina forgot what happened to her and Aegon, maybe he is actually a good guy when he’s sober.
“mama! look! look! fish!” Aeron giggled, covering his mouth with his tiny hands, “you must go and play with them, princess” Odette elbowed her with a smile.
Reina walked over to them, kneeling down beside Aegon and Aeryn. “here mama, you feed” Aeryn handed her mother some fish food, Reina threw the food over sat the pond, “yay!”
the cold air hitting their faces, Aeryn’s hair began covering her face, “Aeryn darling look at you! your hair!” she teased her daughter, Aegon and Aeron joined in, “oh Aeryn, your hair is covering your face! i cannot see it anymore!” said Aegon, Aeron laughs at his sister.
after a few laughs Reina began combing her daughter’s platinum hair with her fingers. “my beautiful daughter”
Reina grabbed more fish food from the basket, but she only grabbed one in her right hand.
“look, alright?” Reina grabbed one of the fish food, holding it over the water, after few seconds a fish jumped out. The fish ate the food but also bit her finger, “ow!” she held her finger close, shaking her hand to get rid of the pain.
Aegon immediately grabbed her hand, “are you okay?” he examined her finger “i’m fine, it was nothing, my King.” she tried to take her hand back but Aegon refused. “i told you. no formalities” Reina nodded.
“we should go to the maester, i see a cut” Aegon massaged the palm of her hand and finger “no need, Aegon. It was just a small bite” she gave him a sweet smile. tucking her hair behind her ear.
“fine, if you say so” Aegon continued playing with Aeron and Aeryn.
a cough was heard behind them, both adults turned seeing Aemond with his hand behind his back.
“o-oh, husband,” she stood up quickly, dusting off the dirt from her dress. “brother” Aegon nodded still carrying Aeron.
“why are you home so early? you usually come back before supper” Reina has a thin smile, “i came back with toys for our children” said Aemond, no smile no anything. “Aeron, Aeryn, your father is back with some toys” “toys!” the two siblings diverted their attention from the fish pond to their father. “daddy! miss you daddy!” Aeryn ran to him.
Aemond smiled carrying his daughter, a rose fell from his back. Reina noticed the rose “you miss me? really?” Aeryn shyly nodded “yes daddy” she hid in her father’s neck, “well, i miss you too my daughter” he placed a kiss on top of her head.
what a daddy’s girl.
“come, Aeron. i had brought many toys for you. do you want to see it?” Aemond had his other hand out, waiting for his son to reach it. Looking at Aegon who is carrying Aemond’s son.
“dad! toys!” Aegon places Aeron on the ground, he runs to his father holding his hand. “mama? come!” Aeron motioned his hand, calling for his mother. Reina have a look at Aemond then at Aegon.
“i will catch up with you later, okay?” Aeron nodded. they walk into the palace, into Aemond’s chamber.
“why did you stay?” “i do not feel like wasting my time with Aemond” she shook her head. “then, may i talk you out for a walk around red keep?” a hand stretched out. “gladly” she placed her hand softly on Aegon’s.

Today I saw a post of game of thrones, so decided to draw my OC from the series, and here we are!
This is Aenys, she’s a bastard of Aeron Greyjoy who prefers to steal than do work for stuff (like most Greyjoys).
She swore allegiance to House Greyjoy and House Stark.
She also has Targaryen Blood in her.

Hi hope ur doing well
I am in love with ur dad aemond posts and also loveeee the kids but wish there was more about thow they are with their mother. Like I get both the girls are daddy's girls, but like how are they with the reader?
You are SO right and I know that mostly the posts with the kids revolve around Aemond. I've been thinking about this all morning and gosh, it was hard to write these!! I feel like it's easier to imagine what Aemond would be like as a dad because we know the character, so I really had to put myself in the mother's place and think of the children. So here goes! x
Elaena
While the earliest memories of most royal children will be of handmaids tending to them, doing the feeding, cleaning and dressing, Elaena only remembers her mother.
You never passed those tasks off to another, you did it all yourself because you'd be dammed before letting someone else's hands touch your beloved children. Each of your children are precious, not to be handled by anyone but yourself or your husband. You never knew you could feel so fiercely protective over someone else, not even Aemond. The moment Elaena was placed in your arms after she was born, you understood the ease with which Aemond ordered Vaghar to obliterate those who wronged him.
Elaena also remembers feeling awed by her mother's elegance in contrast to her father's deathliness. She longed to embody both traits as she grew older. Be strong and fierce, but also elegant. A dangerous type of beauty.
She also marvels at how her muña always seems so poised and collected when standing by her kepa during family affairs. Looking all regal and stoic by his side. But within the comfort of their apartments, she becomes the softest, most loving woman. After a lengthy, boring affair, Elaena longs to return home to get under the covers with her muña and cuddle against her soft robes that smell like home.
As a kid, she delighted in playing dress-up with her mother; asking her to braid and curl her hair just like hers, to wear little samples of her perfumes, and to borrow her jewelry.
When she grows, many pieces of your collection of jewelry are passed down to her, and Elaena asks for duplicates to be made of your dresses, to fit her.
You're also the voice of reason when, as she grows, she starts butting heads with Aemond for wanting to seek out her independence. It is yours, whose advice she seeks first, before Aemond. And also you're the one who Elaena goes to vent out her feelings, ever since she was a little kid.
And she's not interested in being betrothed at all, but when someone from the court does strike her, and she's suddenly lost as to how to feel, in comes muña to detangle Elaena's complicated feelings.
Aeron
Aeron, like his father before him, is wholly devoted to his mother.
I think this is mainly because one of his first memories is of Aemond protecting you, and also being extremely caring and loving when on the outside, his father always seemed stoic and cold to everyone else.
That image stuck with him, so in his eyes, his mother is like an angel. And it must be true because every time he's hurt, it's the hold of his mother's arms that can comfort him.
He's also very fond of the fact that her mother has never shied away from playing with him; running around and dirtying her dresses in mud if the game called for it. Which makes his mom just so freaking amazing in his eyes.
Aeron often feels like he's been born into the highest expectations, being Aemond's son. It's something that worries him constantly, he fears he may never be as great as his father. His mother is the one to reassure him, to ease his heart telling him that he has all the support that he needs in order to grow into the fine dragon rider and swordsman that he wishes to be.
You tell him that Aemond really only had the support of his mother, so he's the luckiest boy in all of the Seven Kingdoms because he was blessed with a mother and father that love him with all their hearts and will guide, teach and accompany him through everything he has to go through in order to thrive. As long as they live, he will never be alone.
The first time that Aeron is brought down to the training grounds with Aemond, muña is there, standing by for support, and enveloping him in a big hug after each session.
It's his mother who encourages his pleasure in reading, and who makes suggestions on what to read next depending on the works he enjoys best.
After long days of rigorous training with his father, he longs for nothing more than to sit down calmly and talk with his mother over a nice cup of tea.
Vaella
Vaella is the one to resemble her mother the most, physically and otherwise. She's constantly told this by Aemond, but her being the most insecure of the bunch, doesn't see it.
So often Vaella will find herself gazing at her mother, trying to find all of the similarities between them. The more traits in common she finds, the more her confidence grows.
Because in her eyes, her mother is the most beautiful, strong woman in the realm, so she finds it endlessly honoring but also precious that they share blood.
She prides herself in knowing that her calm demeanor and creativity come from her.
Her passions for drawing and writing poetry are taught by her, and Vaella loves it when her mother is constantly teaching her ways in which she can perfect her craft.
Her compositions in her drawings and paintings, and her knack to build prose, rhyme, and narrative, are all from her muña.
Vaella feels things very deeply, so she often finds it hard to express her feelings or put a name to the complex mesh of things that she feels. While Aemond listens to her and comforts her, there are just some times when he doesn't grasp what Vaella means to its deeper extent. Her mother always does, without fail. Aemond's solutions to problems are always straight-to-the-point and simple, but that just ends up leaving Vaella more perplexed.
But you? you help Vaella consider every outcome, try to untangle every layer of whatever it is that worries her, and help her see things from multiple perspectives to come to a conclusion.
Aemond also tries to push her beyond her comfort zone for her own good, but you're always there to soothe her when trying new experiences becomes too daunting and overwhelming for her.
She's also the one who, as a baby/toddler, cried the most.
Aemond will always be there to wipe away her tears and offer to murder whoever (and whatever) caused her pain.
But to Vaella, there's something about her mother's warmth when she's crying, that she cannot find elsewhere, not even with Aemond.
And also, I think she's such a daddy's girl greatly due to being the one, out of the siblings, to really watch you and Aemond when you're together. She's very impressed and touched by the depth of your love and devotion for him, and wishes that when the time comes for her, and she's betrothed, she'll find someone to love as much as you love Aemond. You look at Aemond as if he's the light of your life, so it's natural that Vaella sees her dad in the same light.
She's happy knowing that she was born out of love and that your marriage wasn't a mere arrangement between houses.

How would dad!Aemond handle his daughter(s) getting ready for dating/courting? (What if someone broke their heart? Would he be the arrange-a-marriage type? All that fun stuff) And what advice do you think canondad!aemond would give his son?
Hey there, friend! AHH this is an amazing question that I had been pondering over before anyway so I'm extra thrilled that you asked! sorry for the wait though, I've been struggling with life. OK! SO...(by the way, these are all for canon!Aemond. I wasn’t sure if, when you mentioned daughters and dating you were referring to Amaelia in my modern au as well. But do let me know and I can make a separate post! 💖)

Aemond's children: courting headcanons
Generally speaking, I think Aemond would have an inner conflict between what he knows is their duty and his own personal wishes for his children. I headcanon that none of his children are interested in courting, or at least it isn't at the front of their minds, which is amazing for Aemond, selfishly. But then, because of the times they live in, it is still a duty to keep extending the bloodline. I think he'd navigate somewhere in between, encouraging a betrothal but also having it be on their own terms as much as possible. Now! with each kid:
Elaena:
Elaena would be the least interested in courting because she's the most independent and adventurous of the three. But (and a previous anon brought this, so anon if you see this, much love to you!!) she'd be like, 'If someone wants to win my hand in marriage, they will do so in combat. Against me."
And Aemond is secretly thrilled. He knows of his daughter's skills and that it will be a hard match. Regardless of how unconventional her proposal is, he accepts it, basking in the fact that he'll have his little girl all to himself for a long while. Also in the scenario that Aegon is king in this timeline, he also accepts his niece's odd little condition to have her betrothed, so this isn't a problem. And he attends most of the matches, cheering for Elaena.
Indeed, many suitors aren't intimidated and they end up leaving the combat grounds quite angry at not being able to beat her. They were not worthy anyway.
But I'm imagining...in comes Elaena's childhood friend, with a playful grin and a determined energy. A young lord of her age, her only friend in the entire court.
He’s not all that muscled but he’s lean and agile; he’s taller than Elaena (and she’s super tall, so), has a boyish smile despite his sharp, masculine features, and his curls are never tame. He looks intimidating but he’s very goofy when it’s just the two of them, and has a calm aura that’s like the constant shore to Elaena’s tidal wave of a personality.
Elaena feels confident - she knows him better than anyone, she's trained with him, and it'll be an easy game. But just as she knows him, he does too. Has known her, her whole life, he knows her weaknesses. He ends up beating her and she's impressed and suddenly she's looking at him in an entirely different light. And honestly? she's not even mad. She does love him. She’s kinda always known.
She’s often thought that, the day that his friend gets betrothed and he gets separated from her, it’ll be the saddest day for her.
Aemond knows, he's seen them together. And he gives them his blessing, knowing that her daughter will be cared for and loved.
Vaella
I've mentioned before that Vaella is the most insecure of the three because she sees how lords and ladies of the court are always after Elaena and Aeron. She feels like, maybe she isn't as attractive or special as her siblings.
Aemond has consoled her on several occasions, telling her that she's the mirror image of her mother and the most beautiful girl in the Seven Kingdoms, that anyone who doesn’t see it is unworthy of her. He’s super fierce when it comes to reassuring her, like he’s almost angry at himself that his daughter would ever question her worth.
Vaella just smiles and shakes her head. She's still young and attached at the hip to Aemond, so she's always like, "It's alright, kepa. Elaena and Aeron can get married. I'm going to stay back with you and muña. You're my best friend after all. If I get married, who am I going to recite my poetry to?"
"To your betrothed, my sweet dove. You will find someone. Don’t lose hope.”
For the most part, Vaella acts as if she doesn't mind not courting, and Aemond doesn't push her to do it either. He prefers her being alone than her being forced into a loveless marriage, he doesn't want to see his little girl get hurt. Even if he knows that the older she gets, she feels a little bit lonely.
Time goes by, and Vaella puts herself out there and tries her luck with the lords that have struck her fancy, but she only ever gets heartbroken. Aemond is always there to soothe her, asks if he wants him to deal with it - meaning, feed them to Vaghar.
At some point, Aegon must've told Aemond to just betroth her to a good suitor, but Aemond was enraged. But afterward, maybe reader suggests that looking for a betrothal shouldn't necessarily mean going through with it, but it could be a little push. You set out to look for the best candidates to make it easier for Vaella to navigate courting. And they're all very nice and lovely to her, even when she's still a little weary of getting hurt.
Then a lord just two years older than her, comes in. Maybe he’s from the North. He comes in, looking just as reluctant as her to be put through it, so Vaella is thinking this is just wasting everyone’s time. In a moment of desperation at the dinner table, she excuses herself and goes out to the balcony for fresh air by herself. After a moment, the lord comes out and very shyly approaches her. With the sunset, Vaella notices that his eyes gleam with kindness, and his eyelashes are long when he looks down at the ground, pulling something out of a satchel, “I was told that you were keen on the arts. I was hoping to give you this towards the end of my stay here, but I figured you might want this now. You seemed a little annoyed during dinner so, I hope this will cheer you up, if only a little bit.”
It’s a brand new stack of parchment paper, and a set of very nice charcoals. Vaella is smitten right then and there, and when she smiles at the Lord, he’s struck by her beauty as well.
Aemond had been looking for her too, but stood back hidden in a corner watching the exchange when he spotted them. He feels a little melancholic because he knows this is it. His baby is no longer his baby, but he’s also happy that she’s finally found someone kind that will love her in the way that she deserves.
Aeron
Oh, Aeron. Baby boy Aeron, he’s so clueless lmao. He seriously has no clue that all the ladies at court fawn over him.
When they flirt or approach him he’s just — he doesn’t catch any hints at all.
Because of their world, I think Aemond would feel that because Aeron is his only son, he’d need to put more pressure on him to marry. But in his heart he doesn’t want to do that with any of his children. He does end up caving with Aeron, he’s a man of his time.
Aemond is constantly bringing up names to Aeron as they train together, but Aeron just shrugs his shoulders and gives him vague responses like, “Oh yes, I’ve seen her around the Keep. I’ve never talked to her, though”. “Her? Isn’t she rumored to be seeing a commoner?”, “Who? Oh I don’t know who she is. What did you say her name was?”
One time Aemond has had it and he’s very direct with Aeron and tells him, straight to the point. “You do know you’re gonna have to get married, son? Elaena has already been betrothed. And we’ve been seaking suitors for Vaella day and night. You’re going to have to follow, my boy. Sooner or later…”
Aeron is like, “But kepa, I…I just…you’ve always said that with muña you felt a connection. A bond. I…I just don’t feel it with any of the ladies that approach me…I don’t know how to go about it all. I don’t know what to do…”
“Would it be easier for you to be betrothed? For us to help you choose — “
“ — No! I mean…there is someone…I just don’t know how to approach her. She’s never around in the training grounds, and I only see her when I go to the library. I don’t want to disturb her reading time, so I just…what do I do!?”
Aemond chuckles, completely understanding Aaron’s hesitance to interrupt someone when they’re reading. He’s raised him well — especially if he has his eyes set out on someone who frequents one of Aemond’s (and Aeron’s) favorite places. “Tell me more about her”
Aeron tells him how she’s a witchy looking girl of his own age, who’s always reading about fantasy tales and mythology. She seems so serious all the time, has a very potent gaze — hence the fear of disturbing her. She intrigues him like no one else does. Aemond encourages Aeron, as it seems they have common ground and he can use that to his advantage. Aemond suggests that, if speaking seems too daunting of a task, he could start by passing her notes while they’re both at the library. Be respectful and playful, comment on the things she’s reading.
It works like a charm. Aeron goes to Aemond all happy and is like, “Kepa!!!! You are a genius!!! It worked!! What do I do now!????” And Aemond is sooo so pleased and giddy, and he ends up coaching his son all through the initial, awkward little period before Aeron starts courting her officially, and it ends up being smooth sailing from then on. He just needed that little push.
Safe to say, the rest of the ladies were utterly devastated the day Aeron Targaryen got married.

What are canon Aemond’s three kids tantrums like? Whose more likely to throw them, who’s lasts the longest and how do Aemond and reader deal with them?
Ohhh this is such a good question friend!! I read this ask earlier today but I've been thinking about it most of the morning, SO!

Elaena:
She is by far the one that throws the most tantrums because she's the most independent/energetic of the three, and Aemond is very overprotective of her, naturally, as she's the first daughter.
When she's little, she throws tantrums when she has to attend her lessons with the Maesters, and when things don't go her way on the first try. When she's getting fed up and bored during balls and royal gatherings, or when she's just not allowed to go out and play beyond the limits that she's allowed to venture into. When she's made to eat things she doesn't like. And at first, when the twins were born and her muña was tired and couldn't play with her as much as she used to.
At first, Aemond and reader are a little bit afraid of being too strict and causing their daughter to resent them, so they coddle her to the max during a tantrum, but they end up noticing that it makes Elaena think that she can get away with it.
Through lots of tantrums that escalate in length and intensity, they learn that it's all about balancing the coddling but also the discipline, and Elaena has to learn to keep her composure when things don't go her way, whether she likes it or not. It's a learning curve though, Elaena is the firstborn after all.
The older she is, like, when she's a teenager, the longer her tantrums last because she gives everyone the silent treatment for a week. This ends up being problematic in the sense that Aemond goes scarily serious: "You want to avoid talking about your problems with us, then fine. But I'm gonna respond with the same treatment you're giving me so you realize that this is not the way to treat others." So he stops talking to her as well. That's when he's absolutely had it with her. He'll never yell, but it definitely hurts more when he goes all cold and distant.
So it ends up creating this tense bubble in which neither is talking until Elaena breaks and knocks on her parent's door looking very regretful and sad to have been so bitchy with her family.
Aeron
For Aeron, I'm imagining that reader and Aemond were kind of surprised and perplexed at how calm he was? he rarely cried as a baby, would sit very still during family affairs, and always played well with his siblings.
So the first time he throws a tantrum, they're like that Pikachu meme, just staring at him with gaping mouths, while Aeron is on the floor kicking his legs and crying, and they're completely lost as to what to do.
And it was the silliest thing - either his shoes or his pants fit him too tight during a ball or a trip, and he was too polite to say because the clothes were tailor-made specifically for the thing. But he just COULD NOT stand it anymore, he wanted to slip into his pajamas NOW.
Aemond and reader have to escort him out, kneel to his level and ask him what's going on between his cries. When Aeron explains, Aemond and reader lowkey want to laugh, but reader takes Aeron in arms and carries him off to their apartments while Aemond stays back with Elaena and Vaella.
He's totally a mamma's mom like his father before him, and he feels more comforted by his muña every time.
And during some other time (still a toddler) he was getting fussy and antsy until he started to cry because he wanted to be served dessert, and was already sickened of eating boring ass food during a banquet sl;kdjflkjg.
When he's older, he starts getting a little bit annoyed with Elaena, because they both want to be the best dragon riders and sword wielders in the family, so they butt heads at times (even when they love each other).
So after a particularly nasty fight, Aemond had to sit them both down and explain that there's absolutely no reason as to why they can't aspire to similar things. That rivalry between siblings is poison to a family. Having similar interests makes them more powerful when they join forces, not the other way around.
Vaella
After Elaena, Vaella is the one to throw most tantrums, but it's far different than her sister in the sense that Vaella will cry and whine when she's made to go out of her comfort zone.
She's the shyest kid of the bunch, especially when she's still a baby/toddler. She's afraid of many things and doesn't like to feel pushed into them, even when it's for her own good.
The first time Aemond and reader took the kids out to swim, Vaella threw the biggest fit because she didn't want to separate from Aemond's arms as she was afraid of the ocean.
With Vaella in arms, Aemond slowly started to swim towards the deeper part of the ocean to try to push her, and she just couldn't take it, she was inconsolable.
At the shore, he shook her shoulders and very sternly said, 'Listen to me, Vaella. You have to be brave and conquer your fears, my girl. What will you do when your muña or I are not here anymore!?" But that just made her cry even more slkfjlkjgd
She also throws tantrums every time she has to attend a public event because she loves to be cozy in their private apartments and feels very weird and awkward socializing in general.
Aemond is the one to constantly give her pep talks, and it's about the only time he's truly stern and strict with her. It hurts him, because he knows how sensitive his girl is, but he also understands that he'll do her more harm if he doesn't give her the little pushes that she needs to grow.

Two thoughts, both for the canondad!Aemond kids.
First, concerning the reader: we know how Aemond is with his kids and them courting/whatnot but what advice does she give? Does she have to give the awkward pre-wedding-night talk? Does she catch Aegon trying to take Aeron to the Street of Silk and how exactly does she strangle her brother-in-law when it happens? Does Vaella go to ask her questions before her wedding about if Aemond’s injury ever bothered her (since Vaella has now also lost an eye)
Connecting to the lost eye and going back to Aemond. I can totally see him trying to help her with her prosthetic. She wants one as quickly as possible after everything happens and he’s having to hold her back because she’ll hurt herself. Then when she can finally get it he teaches her how to put it in/take it out and keep us safe/clean and just Them BondingTM over it would probably be so devastating but also healing for both of them.
'How exactly does she strangle her brother-in-law' ldkfjskjglkj I love this. Thank you so much for your interest in my silly little au!! I'm happy that this is the second time I'm asked about the reader in this situation. I feel like it's easier for all to enjoy dad!Aemond and we often forget about the counterpart! The following hcs follow these previous ones about Aemond's children courting, but now these will be centered around the reader. I'm also gonna include Vaella's missing eye which is a reference to this drabble.

Aemond's children: courting headcanons, part II. part I
Tumblr media
Elaena:
As we know, the one who won Elaena's hand in combat against her, was her childhood friend, to Elaena's secret relief, as she had been burying all the pining she felt for him underneath her armors.
But Muña always knew. You saw the spark between the two children ever since they were very young, playing together in the gardens and later training together. You felt immense ease knowing that your eldest daughter would be loved as she deserved, that she wouldn't be married off to a stranger.
But, that's the thing. Elaena isn't marrying a stranger, she's marrying her friend. Unlike with some other lord, Elaena loves this man, so suddenly, all these intrusive thoughts about her being a disappointing wife flood her mind.
That her husband will only see her as a friend and never really desire her, and that being betrothed will mean that their friendship will suffer.
All of those thoughts are rushing through Elaena's nervous self the second the arrangement is made, so she goes to you.
"But, muña, he's my best friend. He only sees me as such. Someone to train and ride horses with. He sees me as a child with dirt-stained dresses and hair sticking out of my braids. How could he ever desire me?"
You just chuckle and shake your head, taking Elaena in your arms as you sit together by the fireplace. "My darling, has he ever actually said any of this to you?" Elaena ponders for a moment and shakes her head. "Well then, who's to say that the things that are going through your mind aren't going through his? he's probably just as worried as you are." Elaena just looks down at her lap, fidgeting with her fingers.
"Elaena, look at me. Do you desire him?" She nods without a second thought. "Well, chances are, he does too. The way I see it, your arrangement is ideal, my dear. Who would make a better lover, a better husband, than one who already knows you so intimately? One who is your friend? this is but the next step in your relationship, a new layer of yourselves you are about to discover together."
Elaena then takes a deep breath before looking up at you again, "Muña...will it hurt?" Elaena needn't say more.
"At first, yes. But it will feel good after a moment. He'll have to be patient and gentle, which I've no doubt he will, but if there is ever a moment where you feel discomfort or pain, you need to say it."
Still, Elaena appears nervous, and it occurs to you that this is the first time you've seen her this anxious. Suddenly she had become a little girl again; she wasn't even this afraid when she rode on Vaghar with Aemond for the first time. For someone who'd built herself to be indestructible, Elaena rarely dared to show anyone how vulnerable she felt sometimes.
"Elaena, do you love him?" you gently frame her face with your hands as she nods. "Does he love you?" again, she nods. "Then it will feel amazing. It's not about technique or prowess, it's about who you're with. I've seen the way you look at each other, my darling girl. You have nothing to worry about. But if things take a turn, you know you can always come to me or your kepa. We will always be there, even if you feel like you can protect yourself. You're not alone."
The day of the wedding is absolutely beautiful. Both you and Aemond are overcome with melancholy from seeing your little girl turned into a beautiful woman. But you can breathe when you see the amount of love pouring from Elaena and her husband's eyes, the way they can't stop holding onto their hands for the rest of the celebrations.
After the wedding, you don't see Elaena for an entire week.
At first Aemond and you were worried, but when you went to their apartments to enquire, Elaena's lady-in-waiting assured you that there was absolutely nothing to worry about and that the princess and her new lord husband had ordered for the staff to not disturb them until further notice.
Vaella
Vaella losing her eye was like, an au of my au lol, but now I'm rolling with it. First, some thoughts Re: Aemond and Vaella bonding over keeping up her prosthetic eye.
As soon as she healed, she asked Aemond if she could have a sapphire eye to match his. Aemond felt a mix of pride and also regret because, he was honored she'd want to wear a symbol to forever connect her to him, but he also hates the fact that she has to.
Aemond keeps telling her that she can have her own sapphire eye, but she'll have to wait. Aemond would want to scout for the prettiest one - bigger than his own, for Vaella's eyes are bigger than his - and even more perfect in its cut.
So Aemond takes his time in looking, even asking if she'd want something else to replace the sapphire, but Vaella is adamant.
And so unlike her, she begins to feel a little bit desperate.
Her betrothed has been informed of her accident; the message had been sent to him all the way to the north as soon as Vaella was healing. He replied immediately, telling her that he'd go to the Red Keep as soon as possible.
And Vaella doesn't want to be seen like this, bedridden and weak.
She starts getting anxious and restless, chewing on her lip and staring at the window, dreading the arrival of her betrothed. It was so unlike her. It's made worse when Aemond finally arrives with the perfect sapphire but tells Vaella she'll have to wait for a little longer or else she'll hurt herself more. Her wound still needs a little bit more time, and she has to put on her prosthetic with patience and care.
Her betrothed arrives before she has the chance to put it on.
She's weakly waiting for him in the halls of the Red Keep, holding onto her muña's arm for support - both physical and emotional. For now, she's only wearing a white cotton eyepatch, with some pretty embroidered details on the edges.
"He hasn't seen me like this, what if he dislikes me now? who would want me like this?"
"Vaella Targaryen, stop that nonsense." You tell her. "Has your father's lack of an eye made you love him less? Have you ever seen me recoil from him because of it?"
"No...but he...he's kepa. And I'm just me..."
"Stop it, child. You are beautiful. Your family loves you and your betrothed will. If he does not, then he is not suited for you and we'll make sure to dismiss him at once."
"Muña...? can I ask you something?"
"Did you ever feel weirded out by Kepa? did...did it hurt him? you know...during...I'm just afraid. I'm afraid of how it will feel when I'm with him...I'm afraid of it hurting, or him feeling repulsed by me."
You laugh and look at her with nothing but love and conviction.
"My darling, it has never repulsed me. It's just another part of your kepa, something that makes him, him. Another part of him to love. And if your betrothed loves you the way I love your father, you'll feel safe and wanted. It won't hurt you, as long as he's careful with you. Your father has never been hurt when we're intimate, and it's a matter of constantly making sure he's comfortable and him not exerting himself. Communication is key, my sweet."
Vaella's pondering over your words stops, for in comes her betrothed, still donning all of his lavish, heavy furs despite the heat in King's Landing. He seems out of breath as he rushes inside the hall, and runs the moment he spots Vaella. Vaella weakly lets go of your hand and meets him halfway, as he embraces her in a tight hug.
"Careful of her injury." You solemnly command, a bit weary of the man being rude to Vaella. But your heart eases the moment his rough touch becomes gentle, as he frames Vaella's face delicately and looks at her with big, watery eyes, kissing the stretch of a scar that peaks from under her eyepatch.
"My light, my beautiful love" he murmurs into the side of her head as he hugs her, and Vaella melts into his embrace, clinging tightly to him.
After a few days, Aemond finally lets her put on the sapphire eye. Her betrothed wanted to be there for it, but Aemond had shot him with a death glare. This was a private moment between father and daughter.
Aemond cleans up the sapphire and washes his hands before sitting in front of Vaella, and very meticulously inserting the sapphire in her eye socket. As he does it, he tells her all about the procedure, how to keep the prosthetic clean, how to take it off, etc. "Did that hurt?"
"Only a little pinch." She says as she rolls her eyes to test out the feeling of the sapphire on her face. "Feels a little odd."
"You'll get used to it."
After that, Vaella's betrothed knocks on the door, looking very humbled, bowing to Aemond and asking for him to explain how to care for Vaella's eye. What they don't know is that his betrothed had spoken with you while they were inside, asking you the very same thing Vaella had. If she would get hurt, how to make her feel comfortable.
This immediately earned him a lot of points in your book, and you could sigh with relief over your daughter marrying someone as caring as he. So by the time the day of her wedding came, and Vaella kept getting flustered and nervous, you could only laugh fondly and continue to reassure her.
When Vaella gets married, she does so proudly displaying her new sapphire eye.
And the morning after, she sits at the table with a new air of confidence about her. A certain kind of glow as she sits beside her new lord husband, no longer shrinking her shoulders or sitting quietly.
Aeron
One night you hear some ruckus outside of yours and Aemond's apartments, and you instantly recognize the voices belonging to Aegon and your son, Aeron.
You grumble as you get out of bed, put on a robe, and step outside.
Aegon is shaking his nephew's shoulders, seeming already a bit tipsy as he whispers, "It is time, nephew! you do want to know how to please your soon-to-be lady wife, don't you!? I'm telling you the only way to know is to - "
"AEGON!" you shout, "what are you doing?"
"Giving the boy a pre-wedding gift, that's what!"
"Absolutely, no! Aeron I forbid you to go with your uncle! I know exactly what kind of gift he speaks of!"
Aeron just looks like he wants to laugh from how angry you look, yanking him away from his uncle, who's looking all stupefied by the fact that you had the nerve to yell at him the way you do.
"Come on, I only want what's best for the boy. Don't you want the same!?" Aegon keeps on slurring, and if your temperature wasn't running high, you'd laugh at the way he's staggering down the hall to keep up with you, as you take Aeron back to your rooms.
"Precisely. Which is why he's never to follow along your depraved ideas of gifts!"
You bring Aeron back to your rooms and shake his shoulders, "were you actually planning on following your uncle!?"
Aeron is just speechless, half scared of his mother, and half amused over the whole encounter.
"Well!? answer me, son!"
"No! Of course not!"
"Aeron Targaryen don't you ever take advice from your uncle about women, you hear me? you come straight to your father or me!"
"You?"
You just look at him as if he's grown another head. "What's wrong with that!?"
"No offense, mother, but that would be so embarrassing..."
You roll your eyes and sigh, half understanding of Aeron's hesitance but also frustrated. "Fine, don't talk to me then, but please, talk to your father. Unlike your uncle, your father knows how to treat a woman properly."
Internally you laugh at the face Aeron makes, cringing at the implications.
"I promise, muña...”
"Go back to sleep then! this isn't a proper hour for a prince to be up!"
Time passes and Aeron finally gets married. And it seems as though his lady wife was as hard to figure out in the bedroom, as she was while Aeron first began courting her.
The first few times the both of them came down to dine with the family, Aeron had this defeated aura surrounding him. You never brought it up to either Aemond or Aeron himself, but you knew.
Each day that passed he looked more and more lost inside his head, wandering aimlessly around the halls. Often he opened his mouth and looked as though he was about to ask you something but quickly refrained.
One evening over a shared cup of tea, you finally decide to ask.
"How has it been with your lady wife? Have you settled into marital life well, my love?"
Aeron remains quiet, eying his cup of tea for an eternal moment until he takes a deep intake of breath and spills all his worries in one go.
"Muña, I -" "I'm a bit lost and I'm too embarrassed to ask kepa. I don't want to disappoint him. But I..."
You're just smiling, ever so patient with your son.
"I just don't know what I'm doing! what do I do!? I can't seem to figure out how to...how to, um...please my lady wife..."
"What did I tell you?" you couldn't help it. You just had to throw that to him, but all in good nature. He sighs and slumps on his seat, covering his eyes in shame. But you discard your tea and rise to take a seat beside him, taking his hands away from his face.
"Don't worry, my love. I never ever wish to make you feel uncomfortable, nor do I ever want you to feel like there are things we cannot discuss. You can talk to me about anything and everything. Now, what's this I hear about your lady wife? what seems to be the problem?"
Aeron eases from your kind words and then proceeds to vent out his feelings. He confesses that he feels awkward, regardless of how much he loves her. That all the things he's overheard from other young lords or even Aegon himself just don't seem to bring her any pleasure.
"Don't think about what you're supposed to do. Think about her, first and foremost. Think about her pleasure. Ask her to show you, and if she doesn't know herself, you can discover it together. It's all about patience. Also, nobody arrives at it already knowing. It is a never-ending learning curve. Bodies change, and people change. There is always something new to discover about the other. Always remember, intimacy is not an act or a demonstration of your manhood. It's something to enjoy, and to show love."
Aeron embraces you afterward, feeling an immense weight lift from his shoulders.
Several moons pass, and one night, you're once again awakened by a ruckus coming from outside.
But when you go out to inspect, you stop dead in your tracks and rush back into your rooms immediately, burying yourself under the covers to drown out the noise.
It seems you had given Aeron some pretty amazing advice, and soon the entirety of the Red Keep would know about it.

Vaghar with the kids dragons but she’s always looking into the camera like it’s the office while they fly around causing utter chaos behind her
Aemond having to train the kids to make their dragons be extra careful around Vaghar because Grammy Vaghar is a fucking war criminal and will eat them
Also Aeron’s wife has somehow convinced his dragon to let her take the reigns (but only if he’s also in the saddle with her). Vaella’s husband is half jealous but at peace with his gaggle of children, a dragon is too much for him. Elaena’s husband is Very JealousTM
Granny Vaghar is a war criminal and could eat them 💀💀💀💀💀 OMFG. OH NOOO. VAGHAR NO, LMAO!
And her being SO DONE with all these little dragons who came out of nowhere, she must be like, 'who are all these people? why are there so many of them? seriously where did they come from? please someone tell them to keep that ruckus down I want to sleep.
I'm so here for Aeron's witchy wife being an excellent dragonrider and all of the other spouses being jealous. She has an uncanny ability to command the dragon and sense its moods as well. Also Aeron would totally go nuts over her speaking in High Valyrian.
Vaella's husband would be way more at ease among wolves so he's fine with not riding a dragon, and finds it endearing that his children do. He's fine just watching them from the ground. Also Vaella riding her dragon? he's like, I'm so sad we said we wouldn't have more children BECAUSE SF;DLSKG;LK
Elaena's husband is definitely jealous. Just as her dragon is of him LMAO. And he's extra jealous because her dragon seems to love little Aemes.

Baby (like 6yo) Elaena came down with Aeron when it was time for him to inspect the training yard (because he’s getting to be a Big BoyTM and will get to use a wooden sword and train with Kepa soon) and getting mad at some lord who asks why tf she’s there and so she just picks up the heaviest actual weapon she can wield and goes to town on his knees and Aemond, proud kepa that he is, has to figure out how to stop her from literally crippling a grown man.
She gets to go training with Aeron on the grounds that she not touch the real weapons again until she has a better strategy than “mafia boss the bitch”. Aemond asks if Vaella wants to join but she shakes her head, she doesn’t like how loud and busy the grounds are so he offers to show her self defense with some daggers when they’re back in their rooms where it’s quieter. She likes being able to do the dagger twirl thing with her fingers like he does.
Also Elaena totally sneaks into a tourney one day under some random knight’s name and is only found out when there’s a tie in sword fighting between her and Aeron and she finally takes off her helmet. Aemond and Y/N are both jumping and screaming in the stands. It’s the only tourney they’ve ever given a shit about. Alicent is fucking MORTIFIED.
And omg I saw your “Sapphire Princess” addition a few back that is so adorable Vaella 100% goes with it. When she’s really little she gets upset because she overhears Aemond and Y/N discussing replacing his prosthetic because it’s worn down and she’s convinced that they’re Taking Her Kepa’s Eye and loses it but they finally calm her down and explain he just needs a new one and they take the old one and get it cut into an actual gemstone shape to make her a necklace that she literally never takes off because it’s part of her Kepa.
BESTIE first of all, thank you for taking the time to write such detailed thoughts!!!! I'M SCREAMING giggling kicking my feet reading all of this, it's actual gold!!!
ELAENA GO OFF! Actual queen at 6 years old, going to town on a grown man's knees for disrespecting her lmao, I love it!!! Also, baby Vaella all happy being able to do the twirly thing like Aemond??? ugh, my heart!!
That scenario of Elaena and Aeron in a sword match and her taking off her helmet OMG YOUR MIND, it's so cinematic!! and she absolutely would! Ok but, who would win though?? because that would be the closest match ever. After all, they've been trained by the actual best. All the tricks in the book that Aemond has advised them to use on their opponent is being used against each other! This is seriously so cinematic friend, I love you forever for coming up with this, it is genius.
ME READING THE BIT ABOUT VAELLA FOREVER HAVING A NECKLACE WITH HER KEPA'S SAPPHIRE:
Tumblr media
OH JESUS
s;lfklkjlkjg ok and when she gets her necklace, THAT's when they commission someone to paint their portrait. With Aemond's brand new one in place, and the old sapphire eye proudly hanging from Vaella's neck.

CanonDad!Aemond and Aeron dutifully sitting and helping the girls choose fabrics/styles for their dresses (when they’re old enough to have a say). His son is beside him (because it’s Training TimeTM) and they’re both sitting there like 🤔🤔🤔 because they have absolutely no idea what they’re doing and they should be out practicing for Aeron’s upcoming tourney but By Gods their daughters/sisters wanted them there so they are faking it til they make it.
Brocade, tulle, organza? What the fuck is that, they have no idea, but they nod furiously when they see a pattern they think one of the girls likes.
Aeron, when the dressmaker suggests a certain neckline: No, I’m not skilled enough to sneak Kepa out of the black cells when he murders a lord for looking at you too closely
Aemond, when Vaella only looks at sapphire blue fabric: 🥺
AHHH this is such a wholesome/hilarious concept 🥺 this is giving me, that one scene in the movie ‘About Time’, you know the one? Where Domhnall Gleeson is just watching Rachel Mcadams change into outfit after outfit, not really getting it but wanting to be a good sport LOL! That’s Aemond and Aeron lmao. But we stan a supportive father and brother who’re just there if only for the company and support.
And I think Aemond does get like, a rush of pride and love through his chest when he sees how his daughters stand differently when they’re comfortable in a dress. Seeing them looking confident and radiant fills him with joy, so he pays a little bit more attention to the patterns that he notices they like so he can make suggestions. And aaaaaaaaah my heart!!! Vaella going for sapphire blue, stoooop 😭 she just loves her Kepa so much 😭 imagine Aemond goes, ‘Wouldn’t you want to look at that emerald green fabric, dear love?’ And Vaella takes one look at it, shrugs her shoulders and goes, ‘nah 😌’ fully set on the blues.
DYING with Aeron going: “I’m not skilled enough to sneak Kepa out of the black cells when he murders a lord for looking at you too closely” 💀💀💀💀 TOO REAL

so ahem... I might need to know for science... but... ugh:
what was their first time like? - who usually initiates things? - any routines? for vaella and her hubby!
also, something they tried and won’t do again? for aeron and his mysterious lady.
and finally: any headcanons not touched on? for modern au aemond x reader
feel free to ignore some if they are too many questions!
(also fear not your second ask has been received safe and sound and I'll answer to it tomorrow!)
-🌗
Thank you for asking and indulging me, bestie!! The modern!Aemond one I’m gonna reply (hopefully in a little bit) on a separate post because someone had asked earlier this morning for more nsfw modern!Aemond hcs so I’m currently brainstorming on things to write that I haven’t mentioned before.
Vaella and her husband
What was their first time like?
So loving and intimate and unbelievably soft. Both of them were extremely nervous. Vaella was nervous because she had recently lost her eye, and just generally this was her first time. Northerner husband man who still needs an official name but looks like Arnas Fedaravicius, was also nervous because he didn’t want to hurt her. He had asked Vaella’s mother for advice on things Vaella couldn’t handle/that could trigger nerve pain, and he treated Vaella like the most delicate thing on earth.
His kisses to each cheek, to her scar, were as soft as a petal, just like his touch. She clinged to him during the actual act, overwhelmed at all the sensations, but delighting in them nevertheless. They started out slow, but it was as if he had unlocked a whole new world of sensations in her, so she asked for more, and he was more than happy to give. And he also felt this sense of tenderness because, she was usually very quiet and calm. Seeing her unraveling underneath him, clawing at his back, her cheeks and chest all flushed and silver curls sprawled angelically on the pillow as she threw her head back — he felt a little crazy and euphoric and even more in love.
Afterward, when they laid still just basking in their afterglow, she drew a portrait of him — with his hair brushed back, shiny with sweat, lips all kiss-swollen, and skin all dewy and glistening. In her eyes, he looked heavenly, and she wanted to capture him as he was at that moment.
Who usually initiates things?
Him!! But not in like, a demanding way in the least. He just becomes ridiculously attracted and passionate about Vaella once they’re intimated and they’re equally obsessed (not in an unhealthy way) with each other. All it takes is one sultry look from him, or a deliberate caress to her curves, him tucking a lock of hair behind her ear — and she’s on him. He’s also super happy and giddy when, in time, she takes the initiative more and more.
Their routines
I think they do it near-daily because they can’t get enough of each other. They’re very careful at first because they want to enjoy time on their own before fulfilling their duties of bringing heirs to the kingdom, but they do it so often that Vaella is the first of her siblings to have kids. And usually, it's him who's super giving and wants to take care of her; when she reciprocates, he gives back tenfold. She's his sapphire princess, his silver light, and wants to worship her as such. They'll do it at nighttime, in the privacy of their apartments after all the duties of the day are through, and afterward, they take a bath together. But if Vaella is feeling a little mischievous, she'll seek him out during midday or early afternoon while he's straining for a little bit of fun.
Aeron and his witchy wife
Something they tried and won’t do again?
Omg Aeron, my favorite clueless boy. I feel like his wife (who I also need to name) wanted to tie him up once, or maybe blindfold him, but he started feeling a little bit paranoid without his sight, or by being restricted. He thought the whole, 'losing control and letting go would feel good for him, as he always is in control and alert - especially after Vaella was kidnapped and she lost her eye - that he just couldn't go through with it. Maybe later on, he'd love to try again. But for now, he feels that's not his thing.
NSFW ship ask game

‘he just COULD NOT stand it anymore, he wanted to slip into his pajamas NOW’ he’s literally me
Aeron is our relatable king, he just wants to be cozy and I feel that. If I were in his spot I definitely would’ve thrown a big ass tantrum 🤣
