yesterday coach brought up two of my insecurities/traumas from school which made cry when i got home and today i feel like my writing’s not enough 😩 pls treat me nicer
#being a succesful author is my dream pls#but no ok i feel like im not enough today but i AM enough. it will pass#and if im slow it doesnt mean im a failure#also im probably going to a fencing tournament in october which normally would make me happy buuuut the convo went like that#coach: do you want to go to the tournament? me: i want to but i keep that doing that thing with my head and it’s guarantees losing isnt it?#coach: yeah. it is. but you go there for experience as well#me: 😐#so yeah does he think im a failure? probably not. do i think i am one? sometimes. so if im going to lose anyway why go#i mean he also said id meet other people so thats nice but still#and he said we’re only starting actual fencing from next month so ill have only three weeks to prepare??? why cant we start already#yeah some others did a break during summer but i didnt#the most i missed was two weeks#and yeah insulting is our humor buuut i wish he didnt use my actual insecurities for that like being slow and speaking silently/not clearly#those ones shatter me#though i kinda also told him that not my brain is working slowly today#and he asked: do you know why im not doing this exercise? me: yeah because your knees dont bent that much#ok that could have sounded a bit mean but it was lighthearter and he said it that himself not long ago#and then i turned to my pals and said: what? he said it himself#mylife

when an obsessed orufrey person plays ace attorney for the first time in a while
#witch hat tag#orufrey#you know those times when the defendant is still in shambles at the end of a case because it was not a clear-cut thing#but you get to present one Special Sentimental piece of evidence that proves not all is lost#qifrey's breakdown would be like... he turns up calm and pleasant like dahlia kristoph gant etc but very quickly:#well first he's hiding his scar so you have to use the bracelet and also you find out about the seal on his hat using that.#eventually he is throwing water that comes out of nowhere like that coffee prosecutor guy. and his cape starts billowing#the more he breaks down his neck thingies start coming undone btw. To represent his descent into guilt and his LIES becoming undone.#course as the player i have already used my magatama and seen his 35894 psychelocks. but theyre those BLACK psychelocks#representing his repressed memories taken by the brimhats. also his glasses shatter out of nowhere when you keep presenting evidence#and tartah's testimony etc. and the player is like UHH this guy is A PUPPET MASTER but coco's heartfelt testimony commands the tone#and of course he's someone who has been twisted and damaged by trauma like adrian andrews. the mastermind is of course the brimhats#only me with my magatama knows that... only i can do it. It has to be me.....#just like how as the reader i can see everything about qifrey and i can hold him dear as much as i judge him#whereas if i were oru things would not be ok unless memories can be restored and mentally ill decisions can be illuminated#WELL ANYWAY !!!!! what i appreciate about ace attorney is its ability to mix silliness with seriousness#i cant usually make jokes about serious heavy heartbreaking stuff in witch hat because it is all very intense emotions for me#but i appreciate ace attorney's mix of sincerity and psychological pain and the inherent silliness to being a character in a situation#so.....Get Iguin on the stand. Now. BAILIFF.. TAKE OFF THE MASK#i would most love to be able to prove qifrey's eyesight is failing. hed be like I have no reason to pursue the brimhats (smiles pleasantly)#and it would be like You're lowering your gaze.. proof that the court lighting is too harsh for you..!#his glasses would crack at that moment btw. I went to the natural history museum at Harvard a few weeks ago, saw a Tasmanian Tiger in person for the first time, cried about it, and then proceeded to take photos of it from every angle possible as I stared longingly at it for many many minutes.
#tasmanian tiger#pretty sure i made a post in 2019 about spending multiple hours at the nhm in manhattan looking for theirs#only to finally be told it wasn't on display#so to happen across it when i wasnt even looking for it was earth shattering#thylacines have been my favorite animal since i wasnin fourth grade#and its one of those things that like everyone knows about me#like facts about milo: reads a lot#like musicals#loves tazzy tigers#so it meant a lot to finally get to see one in real life#even if it was still a dead one#thylacine

I think the portrayal of Spider-Man 2099 in Across the Spider-Verse is in-character in that aside from like Shattered Dimensions he's always been portrayed as a bit of an asshole who slips into anti-hero territory at times and generally has a "needs of the many over the needs of the few" mindset and given his specific circumstances in the movie it's not unreasonable to think he could take the actions he does. However it does kinda suck that since like 99% of moviegoers had no idea who he was before the movie came out their first impression of him is when he's in an antagonistic role and people think "antagonist" and "villain" are synonyms so now I'm gonna have to listen to people who've never read a comic saying he's a villain or isn't a real Spider-Man for the rest of time or at least until he inevitably changes his mind in the third one.
#hell you don't even need to read a comic just look up a let's play of spider-man edge of time you'll get what i mean#but yeah i saw a post that was like#''the first movie had a joke about how spider-man doesn't wear a cape and miguel has a cape they did that to show he's not spider-man''#as if he hasn't had that cape since his creation 30 fucking years ago#he's not even the only spider-man to have one. spider-man unlimited is also a thing that exists.#even the first movie had that call-back joke where they see the peter from miles's universe had a suit with a cape#these movies have a lot of little details with deeper meanings but the cape thing just isn't one of them sorry#but yeah. play edge of time or find it on youtube it's good.#shattered dimensions is also good but miguel's personality in that game is closer to peter's for some reason#so edge of time is better for getting a feel of what he's usually like#but yeah i do think spider-verse miguel was probably more straightforwardly heroic like other versions before the whole dead family thing#and i think he and the rest of the spider society are just genuinely misguided about how the whole canon event thing works#cause like george and gwen don't die in every universe peter doesn't get the symbiote in every universe#even uncle ben doesn't die in every universe#but miguel THINKS those things always happen. that's why he got the others to believe it cause he genuinely believes it himself#and i think they all take comfort in the idea that these bad things that happen to them happen for a reason#i know that's josh keaton's interpretation for why spectacular peter joined and i don't disagree with it#that's also why i disagree with people saying that miles is The Only True Spider-Man There just cause he was the first to outright reject it#look me in the fucking eye and tell me spectacular peter and insomniac peter don't understand what it means to be spider-man#or actually don't cause i'll bitch slap you into next week if you do#miguel o'hara#marvel#shut up tristan

So @neroushalvaus told me that in the current Finnish production of Så som i himmelen, after a big assortment of other questionable choices, they interpret the finale as some sort of Literal Vision of Heaven... and in there, Tore magically heals of his disability.
The more I think about this, the more disappointed and angry I feel about it.
I mean. The whole entire point of the character of Tore is that the others learn to accept him exactly as he is, and that he has a unique, valuable voice just like everybody else. Besides that, he's a very rare instance of disabled representation within musical theatre. Sure, he's often played by non-disabled actors – but the Helsinki production showed us how you can achieve great results by splitting the role between a disabled and a non-disabled actor, so the role can also be an opportunity for disabled actors, given that they're provided enough support throughout the process.
Or it can be an opportunity for a non-disabled actor to treat disability like a costume you can simply take off when you're done with it and for a production to imply that disabled people are not good as they are, I guess. Cool beans!
Incredibly disappointed with the director and everyone else involved.
#they also cut the whole prologue and have Daniel coughing up blood and whatnot#unlike the Tore thing those choices are not offensive or anything. but I do think they're very very dumb#dunno! this detail has just been haunting me#I'm sure the actor and/or the director could explain why they've made such a choice...#but personally tbh I'm not super interested in hearing that#I think they're sending an awful message re: disabled people no matter the reasoning#oh well!
