I finished chapter four of DanganRonpa 2 tonight.

The good news is that one of the murders and two of the killers that were spoiled for me have happened in the game. That means there's one more murder and a couple of plot twists that I'm still spoiled on, but I feel like I'm mostly out of the woods.

Another good thing is that after four chapters of murders and executions, the group is whittling down to the final party of survivors. That means the characterisation is about to get more focused and the overarching plot is about to explode open.

DR2 spoilers up to chapter 4 below, including some hot takes:

First of all, I read in some tags recently that the third cases of the first two games fall flat. I totally agree, because the Despair Virus went beyond "haha funny plot device joke" when it came back around as Mikan's motive.

That being said, I thought both of her victims being from the previously mentioned Twilight Syndrome case was interesting. The only thing I wonder is why she targeted Mioda over Hiyoko - was it the Despair Virus giving her control over Mioda, making her an easier target?

Because outside of that, if Mikan was gonna murder anyone, I would have put my money on Hiyoko. And frankly, for Hiyoko getting murdered too, I stan - Hiyoko was fucking terrible to Mikan and was presumably just as awful before the Tragedy. As far as Hiyoko goes, even as pure happenstance, big thumbs up for Mikan's revenge. Mioda, not so much.

Now that I've made my case for why child murder is a good thing - chapter 4.

I like how it set up Nekomaru offing himself like - spoilers for the first game - Sakura. It also avoided the hack option of making Kazuichi the killer, being the mechanic of the group. Having the case still resonate thematically with the first game, like the other three cases having a lot in common with the first game, was also a nice touch.

Also, Mechamaru was way too good to last. Kinda hate that they "fulfilled" Monokuma's movie by dismantling the tin man, I wanted the end team to have a fucking ROBOT on it. They could have just kept going with the useless function gimmick for fun. I already really liked Nekomaru, but he got even better when he turned into a robot.

It makes sense considering the first game, they reinvented Taka and killed him off right away because you can't maintain that sort of character for too long. I guess taking the robot gimmick over the top could have gotten old or overshadowed the game. But I really liked it.

I also thought starving everyone to death was particularly inspired, considering the first game? That was a clutch moment. Really didn't like the Funhouse setting though.

Last thing - Gundham had the best death in the game, emotionally speaking. I like that for all his edge and bluster about going to hell, his talent as the ultimate breeder got him into heaven on the wings of all the pets he had loved. I hope Sonia takes cares of the four dark devas of destruction now, it'd complete the whole Disney Princess thing.

So in short - chapter 3 underwhelmed, but hooray for child murder! Chapter 4 was pretty good, even if I wanted Mechamaru to stay until the end of the game.

You barely take off your mask. He attemped to see it when eating, but you hide your face really well

Well, he doesn’t want to pressure you. But if you feel like you can trust him, there’s a chance you might take off your mask.

And when you do, well, let’s say he’ll be silent for a while. He’ll just stare in shock, he doesn’t pity you, he just feels sorry that you have to cover your face with a mask.

He cares more about your personality, so he won’t talk about it at all. He loves you for who you are, not for your face.

Nagito Komaeda

Oh boy. He literally thinks it’s because of his luck. It’s not that he doesn’t care, he’ll keep his distance if you are desperate to hide your face

Though he secretly wants to see...

But again, he’s ok if you don’t want to show your face. He doesn’t want to pressure you

He doesn’t mind your looks, but if you were to take off your mask in front him, by any chance, he’d think very highly of himself

Many attempts of trying to see. He even tried to build something that could see through your mask- but he failed and you and Sonia scolded him for hours

But if you were to show your face to him, I don’t think he’d be creeped out- he’d be just surprised... And shocked? Yeah. He still thinks you’re so pretty. And it’s not only about your looks

Omgggg Ibuki stans rise up! This girl loves everrrrything about you! She first thought you wore that mask because you thought it looked cool, and she adored your style!!

She adored you even more after finding out because you think you need to hide your face. And she wanted to see it. By this, I mean she literally begged you to take it off for her! For only one time! “Pleaaseeee, Y/n, I promise I won’t tell anyone!!!”

Even though she sounds reliable, you hesitate but she gives you puppy eyes- THE PUPPY EYES. So you let it slide, Ig.

When you showed her your face, she literally screamed like a fangirl, “Y/n, what the- You’re so cool under the mask!!!”

“You must take it off some more! Your face is beautiful!” Please tell this girl you aren’t wearing the mask because you think you are ugly,, yeah, anyways. She loves when you take off your mask.

Danganronpa tier listttttt

Idk if people know how I feel about these characters, so here ya go! This is my opinion, please don’t attack me for this (also I only did this for the mainline games and Komaru + the Warriors of Hope)

...Also I wanted to go into detail on some of these so yeah Warning: it does get pretty rambly

S tier

...I don’t really feel like I need to explain any of these. MOVING ON

A tier

Chiaki Nanami Please don’t kill me for not putting her in S. I can explain, I promise Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore her and love her relationship with Hajime, but I didn’t really get as attached to her as I did with other characters. I still love her though

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu He has one of the best character arcs in the series, only JUST being outranked by Shuichi. Seriously, best SDR2 survivor, hands DOWN.

Ultimate Imposter Yep. Fake Togami outranks actual Togami by miles. YEAH I SAID IT! Idk, I found them a lot more interesting and likeable than Togami and it was a real shame they got killed off so early. They were pretty fun.

Ryoma Hoshi ...Do I even need to explain why he ranked so high? Like, come ON! He’s one of the most underrated characters in the franchise!

Hajime Hinata 3rd best protag for me (yes I’m counting Kaede shut up), but I still love his arc.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru He was my fave from the first game for a while, but the Kiyondo stuff kinda brought him down for me. And ngl, at times it feels like people only judge him based on his friendship with Mondo. I still love him though.

Mondo Owada Chapter 2. Need I say more. He’s a pretty cool character outside of that, too.

Komaru Naegi Just copy-paste my reason for Ryoma, it’s practically the same.

Nagisa Shingetsu Best Warrior of Hope. Hands down. I will die on this hill.

Kotoko Utsugi Despite being beaten out by Nagisa, I still adore her. She deserves the best.

B tier

Maki Harukawa Okay don’t get me wrong, I like her as a character, but the main problem I had was that her crush on Kaito kinda came out of left field for me. Like, she was a stoic unfeeling assassin and she suddenly fell head over heels for some astronaut that knocked on her door a few times. It feels pretty rushed (though knowing Tsumugi it probably was) and kinda brings her down a few pegs for me.

Korekiyo Shinguji “Why is he ranked so high!? He’s the freaky incest guy-” SHUT UP. Yes, his character was absolutely obliterated by the incest twist, but outside of that he is actually a pretty compelling character. (also if you look into his writing it’s pretty heavily implied that his sister used and abused him so judging him based on the incest thing alone is kinda odd ngl)

Ibuki Mioda She’s pretty fun. I’m not as head-over-heels for her as other people, but she’s pretty fun.

Celestia Ludenberg See, Ouma stans? THIS is how you do a compelling liar character!

Peko Pekoyama Please don’t kill me. It’s just that outside of Fuyuhiko she kinda felt......Eh? Like don’t get me wrong, I like her, but something always felt missing for me.

Nagito Komaeda My favourite antag didn’t even make A tier whoops- Yeah, Nagito is the best rival for me, but I’m not as head-over-heels for him as the rest of the fandom is.

Kiibo The “that’s robophobic!” joke kinda got old after the billionth time, but other than that he’s fun.

Aoi Asahina Her development is cool, but I don’t really have much to say on her honestly.

Sonia Nevermind Same reason as Aoi, but her relationship with Gundham is pretty cute.

Jataro Kemuri This kid deserves better and needs protection. ...I don’t have much other than that, though.

Monaca Towa This is gonna be controversial, but Monaca is the best villain of the franchise for me. Sure, she’s far from being one of my favourite characters, but she’s menacing and enough of a threat to be a great antagonist.

Kyoko Kirigiri Please don’t kill me. Like...She’s okay, but for a while I found her kinda......Dull? Idk what to say here.

Makoto Naegi He’s alright, but he’s the weakest protagonist for me.

Tsumugi Shirogane I think people are gonna agree with me the most on this. She’s a decent villain, but the "plainy plainy plain” stuff got REALLY old. (which is partially why I rewrote her entirely in DFTH oops) She’s better than Junko by a long shot, so at least she has that.

Kirumi Tojo She was okay until the nonsensical prime minister twist. Seriously, I detest that twist.

Angie Yonaga ...I don’t really have much to say on her. Like the Atua stuff got pretty old and I found her kinda annoying, but she has enough to put her above the characters I don’t like.

Mahiru Koizumi She kinda felt like a better Tenko, but...Uh...

Teruteru Hanamura Yeah, I don’t outright dislike Teruteru. Shocking, I know. His backstory and the stuff with his mom is charming enough, but the perverted stuff still kinda icks me out. It’s not as bad as Miu’s, though.

Genocider Syo She’s more interesting than Toko, but still not really that much there other than “serial killer that somehow got accepted into this academy but don’t think about that look how quirky she is!!”

Tenko Chabashira Similar to Angie. But the way she drooled over and chased after Himiko was kinda eeeh for me. Not as bad as Souda though, thank god

Byakuya Togami God, he’s such an asshole. Sure his development and the stuff he does is interesting, but GOD HE’S SUCH AN ASSHOLE.

Akane Owari She’s the most “why the hell are you still here” out of the survivors for me. Like, I don’t outright hate her, but a lot of the time it kinda feels to me like she’s only there for fanservice. (seriously, in one of her sprites she’s literally flashing you. Do I need to say anything else?)

Himiko Yumeno Yeah, she’s also pretty weak for me. Her development post chapter 3 was okay I guess, but it kinda felt too little too late.

Toko Fukawa Ugh. Sure, I don’t really like Togami, but the way she drools over him is gross. Sure she’s somewhat redeemed by her development in UDG, but other than that she doesn’t really offer much.

Yasuhiro Hagakure Didn’t really felt like he offered much other than “blatant comic relief who’s probably a stoner”.

Masaru Daimon The weakest out of the Warriors of Hope by a long shot. Sure, his backstory’s pretty sad, but his personality kinda grated on me, ngl.

Kokichi Ouma PLEASE DON’T KILL ME. Like, everyone hails him as the best written character of the series, but if you look closer into his writing it’s actually pretty bad. Not to mention the stans constantly excusing his actions because “uwu liar boy who’s gay for Shuichi” REALLY brings him down.

Kazuichi Souda He’s literally all the things people hate about Teruteru, but the fandom barely calls him out for it! Hooray!

Miu Iruma She’s basically just there for NSFW jokes. Need I say more. Also, why is no-one else talking about how problematic the maintenance scene was?

Nekomaru Nidai He’s basically just there for shit jokes. And that really got old for me.

Sayaka Maizono OKAY PLEASE PUT YOUR PITCHFORKS DOWN AND HEAR ME OUT! Look, I’m not gonna deny she was kinda cute, but what she pulled in chapter 1 was honestly really fucking snakey. “But she didn’t know about the class trial stuff!” So what? She was willing to use practically the only person in the academy she was close to as a fall guy so she could get away with murder and didn’t even bat an eye! Even if the trial stuff didn’t happen and she DID get away with killing Leon, did she really think everyone would be okay with it? Hell, did she even CONSIDER how Makoto felt!? Like, her getting her memories back and killing someone could’ve worked, JUST MAKE HER PLAN MAKE SENSE!

-Gundham has chew necklace… He doesn’t use it often but sometimes you need a Sensation and monching your scarf isnt great. Yes I am projecting.

-Stronk Sonia with abs actually. She can bench press most of her classmates. She can run in heels. We love her.

-I know the popular idea of a Sonia and Toko friendship is based on Sonia being a Jill fan but consider actually. Sonia is a Toko fan. She owns all her books. She’s got every available translation of each one and she uses them for her language learning. She runs the Novoselic Fukawa Stan Discord. Toko tries so hard to hate her cuz she’s “cheating at life” but it’s so hard to cuz Sonia constantly gushes about her and overloads her with praise.

-I just think Hajime knows One Other Language but like. An uncommon one in Japan. Like idk. Man learns Finnish or smth for funsies and it never comes up until he hears Sonia “30 languages” Nevermind say something in Finnish and he’s like “FINALLY…. all my training… for this moment…”

-Akane. Straight up has gone to the doctor maybe three or four times ever. She doesn’t Not Want To she just. Forgets or doesn’t feel like she needs to. Mikan and Nekomaru lowkey FREAK OUT a bit when they realize this. They really are like “girl please… take care of your health I beg you…” but she makes more of an effort to make it a priority when she realizes they’re worried.

-I just think maybe sometimes Nagito stress bakes. Man feels a panic attack comin on and is like ”Hey Hajime I’m going to the store brb :)” and then a few hours later Hajime enters the kitchen to find Nagito in the middle of a fifth batch of cookies with a cake in the oven and half a tray of cupcakes consumed. He’s not even a good baker he just does it.

-IBUKI BIG STIMS. She’s just full of energy. Her physical stims are a big more subtle, but she def makes. Lots of noises. Not a truly quiet moment with Ibuki.

-Mahiru takes LOTS of pictures of Imposter, especially when they’re real comfortable. She always makes extra copies to give them, sometimes with little notes about things she notices about their appearance or what they were doing when she took it. They hold onto every one. Sometimes you don’t know who you are but the things your friends notice about you and the fact that they recognize you grounds you.

-Also the whole class is SO SUPPORTIVE of each other. Even when they don’t understand each other’s issues fully, they work so hard to help each other. Particularly today I’m thinking of the class being very supportive of Imposter when they’re trying to figure themself out and like. Give themself a name. I feel like for a while they don’t understand themselves enough to even think of one, but everyone in the class has their own kinda Personalized Nickname they have for them.

There was silent before walking away. You peeked the corner to see two familiar faces, hurrying away from each other.

Those two?!

Never in a million years would you have thought that it would be them of all people to think about committing a murder.

More importantly, they where going to kill Fuyuhiko. The one person in your life you can't bear to lose.

You needed to stop this, some way, some how.

"No! No!!" Fuyuhiko cried, gripping the trial stand,"I already lost one person I cared about, I can't loose you too!" He ran out of his stan, hurrying over to you with all his might.

The surviving few had pointed you to the murder of Akane Owari. It was a messy murder with evidence badly hidden, it was almost obvious it was you, though Fuyuhiko refused to admit it until now.

He wrapped his arms around your body, trying to contain his sobs "please.. please don't leave me, I need you...please.."

"Fuyu.." you started, feeling tears well up in the corners of your eyes.

"Fuyuhiko...I'm so sorry...I- I just" you started choking on the lump in your throat, hugging the yakuza back.

"I've got a special punishment for (y/n) (l/n) the ultimate (talent)!" Boomed monokuma, pressing the large button in front of him.

"NO!! NO PLEASE! DON'T LEAVE ME!! PLEASE!!" Fuyuhiko screamed trying to hold onto you as you lifted away to be exucuted.

He tried to run after you, hoping to try and save you before his classmates held him back, not wanting him to get hurt in another exucution again.

Since then, Fuyuhiko hasn't spoken much, he refused to leave your cottage, haunted by the sight of your dead body..

He tries not to think about your corpse much and rather they way you smiled and laugh, but everyday it's seems harder and harder for him to remember your face, unmangled by the spikes that went through it..

i totally understand where you're coming from. so i've already written in a few parts of it but intend on revealing more pieces as they open up more to each other. i feel like maybe what i've included so far is a little broken up, so i'll put it together here for ya. i don't think they've changed that much, mostly just cosmetic things.

EDIT: this art is heavy inspiration!

kazuichi: i'm not using his shark teeth, sorry!! i just couldn't make that part feel realistic, especially if he'd had them in high school. but my headcanon was that he had pretty crooked teeth in school; and is just now using an invisalign that's helped a lot. he's kept his hair pink af (though i imagine he's experimented with the exact shade of pink), and it goes quite a bit past his shoulders now, i would say definitely over his shoulderblades. he's experimented with styling it in new ways, mostly with different kinds of braids—i detailed the style during nagito's party as half-up, half-down, with the up portion being in a regular 3-strand braid. he bleaches and dyes his eyebrows too, to match, but he also fills them in a bit with makeup. he has an eyebrow piercing, and a septum piercing, both of which he usually just wears a simple barbell in. he wears a larger gauge in his earlobes (nothing massive) and a collection of piercings in each ear. i like the idea of an industrial and a daith in one ear, and a couple helixes and a forward helix on the other. i haven't 100% decided yet on all the exact ear piercings but the industrial and daith will definitely be there. he's pretty tan and he has some freckles, especially across his nose, cheekbones, and forehead—this is a change since he lives next to a beach now and spends a lot of his free time outside, while he was confined to a city for so long before! also, here's a sneak peek: he's pretty fit, because in the time since he's moved down to minamitane, he's taken up surfing!! he's still a little bit of a fashion disaster lowkey, but he's kinda had to tone it down a bit so he wears more boring "grownup" office clothes for work. he has a few tattoos, though they're all pretty much covered by clothing. we'll definitely get to those eventually, though, as well as his other piercings: both his nipples! chiaki is right, he definitely sets off metal detectors.

gundam: biggest change is the hairstyle!!!! as i detailed in the fic, it's no longer up in the ice cream swoop. i believe in floppy hair gundam supremacy, so it's a lot like the dr3 anime tbh. i love the middle part, and i'm keeping the undercut as well. he found something that worked for him and stuck to it. he does have those bigger streaks in the front of his hair, though they're white due to his poliosis; and he has some premature gray hair too. another big change is the eye color! controversial, maybe, but i'm going with the gray and red both having been color contacts, and his natural eye color is closer to a medium-dark brown. he'll sometimes wear gray in both but i feel like his eyes tend to get irritated by contacts now, haha. also: the "facial scar" was just his dramatic-ass makeup during high school!! no more "scar"!!! he does like a tasteful smokey eye though, even if it does make him look more tired. he stopped wearing the scarf a while ago, since it got in the way while he's working; although sometimes you might catch him pulling the collar of his shirt up to cover his face when he's extremely embarrassed, hehe. he's still pale and built as HELL (we stan gundam's giant tiddies here). no bandages either, but i'll give you another sneak peek: he has sleeve tattoos!!! i'll go into more detail in the next chapter but yes. he's also still a goth, but like, more refined and simplified most of the time? so at nagito's bday he was probably wearing something like a black turtleneck and black pants.

sonia: shorter hair, technically, though still around her waist. also love the idea of her being a liiiittle bit chubbier. 🥰

chiaki: no real changes.

nagito: no real changes.

hajime: no real changes. he's never been crazy about styling his hair a specific way. honestly he's not that obsessed with his own appearance.

fuyuhiko: no real changes, possibly incapable of aging? he might not have those lil designs shaved into his head anymore. he may have lost a little baby fat in his cheeks but otherwise this guy is hiding the fountain of youth.

peko: she's graduated from the girlish dual braids and ribbons, to a more refined look. think sleek, high ponytail; or a single dutch braid. occasional dual french braids. smaller glasses frames, though she's stuck with the rectangular shape. also looks fine as hell in a suit.

i'll be having more characters added eventually, and will be writing in any descriptions of changes! i'll just say that i, personally, have changed very little in appearance since i graduated high school 10 years ago—the main differences being that my hair is a different length, i'm better at makeup, and my nose is pierced (i'm also fatter and have a couple tattoos). so generally everybody is pretty recognizable, there's just some style changes!

Also Y/N will always be gender neutral for the sake of the readers, unless it is requested to be a specific gender, also the S/O here is the ultimate mangaka as well. I also apologise for my horrible, writing, I am still a beginner so I am trying very hard, I hope you like it

"S/O, hey, wake up," you opened your eyes tiredly with a silent yawn escaping your mouth, with the sight of a strawberry blonde haired boy patting your back in hopes you would wake up. "R-ryota?" You called the boy's name in a soft tone, the boy smiled in relief.

You got up from your sitting position, your back and butt hurting like hell, "Ow.." you muttered under you breath, why were you in this position anyway?

You then remembered that you had been working on an ongoing series you have been working on since the beginning of the year, and stayed up all day and night to finish the 7th volume to the point you fell asleep on your desk, exhausted from the non-stop work. Ryota quickly hugged you rubbing your back gently in a comforting way.

"You shouldn't be up all night like this"

"I know"

"Me and Gundham were so worried about you"

"I know"

"Please don't power off your next time"

"Okay"

Once he had let go you stretched your back yawning once again, your nose twitched as you smelt something cooking, you immediately knew who it was,-

Awide smile grew on your face, the smell of food always lightens you up, which is a reason Akane is one of your closest friends.

You got up and gave Ryota a peck on the cheek, and got your phone from your desk to power it on, "I am sorry for worrying you, but atheist you now know how we feel when yo-" before you were able to finish, your phone buzzed nonstop for 5 whole minutes, you had over a 99+ unread messages and 80 missed calls! Most of them from Ryota and Gundham, others are from the other people you knew, and then lots of over excited fans.

" I am sorry about that " The boy apologised nervously looking at his feet though he kept his eyes on yours. You couldn't hold it, your cheek was so red, your stomach hurts from holding it, so you let it go, you laughed uncontrollably, were they seriously that worried? It was just 24 hours, wasn't that long, right? You sighed as you were done laughing at your smaller boyfriend and then hugged him tightly, " I love you so much Roro, you are literally the cutest being on Earth!" you pinched his cheeks playfully, he his face grew warmer turning his cheeks red, he liked it when you called him by his nickname, it makes him feel loved and safe. Ryota laid his head on your shoulders and gave your neck a small kiss which makes you chuckle.

After you had let go Ryota, you walked out your room wobbling your way to the kitchen, Gundham was busy chopping down some green onions for the topping not noticing your presence, the smell of the Udon soup almost made your stomach growl, you loved Udon, you slowly sneaked behind Gundham's back, you tried grabbing a noodle from the udon with your bare fingers but before you could do so, Cham-p has already snitched.

" My paramour, As much as my love is endless, and I would had to see you suffer, I will not tolerate forbidding you from my immortally grand Udon, if you dare touch it." Ooo how much his voice got shivers down your spine, no wonder he often tops you and Ryota, well, it is nice making him needy in bed though when you are topping. (Author-sama died from cringe but still imagines topping Gundham but then realizes they can not do it with Gundham)

"Just a single noodle"

"I will not allow it"

"Please"

S/O used Gundham's nickname and your kinky voice, it was super effective.

"Fine! I will feed it to you!"

You clapped your hands and jumped in victory, he rubbed his hands on the red apron he is wearing to stop from getting himself dirty, he picked up a pair of chopsticks and picked up a small bite of the udon noodle and got it to your mouth which was wide open, his face flushed, from both the nickname you just called him and your cute face. You ate the bite of udon happily, you looked at him with puppy doll eyes demanding for more.

"NO!" He quickly turned the other way his face even more flushed he hid half of his face in his scarf, only making his eyes visible to go back to what he was doing beforehand.

You giggled as you left the kitchen and into the living room, you looked around for something, where is she? You looked around some more until a giant black furred fluffy newfoundland dog tackles you and licks your face, tickling your face that made you a laughing disaster, and your hero Ryota Mitarai saving you from your disaster, "I know you were worried Pomelia but get of them please, you are going to kill them" he whistled and Pomelia immediately acted like a good girl and got off you, Ryota held out his hand for you to get up which you gladly except, he pulled you up and kissed your hand.

OK but headcanon Gundham sends letters to his mom daily and she responds to them all and keeps them all. I'm going to talk about for a ridiculous amount of paragraphs-

So Gundham when he is first at hope's peak and living in the dorms decides to send a letter to his mom instead of texting cause fuck it letters can be more fun and just cause his mom sends a letter back. It becomes a daily thing where he through the letters tells her all of the shanagins his class goes through and when the class photo is taken sends her copy and a thing on who is who.

By the fact that he in Canon refers to her as an angel I add to this headcanon that she made Christmas gifts for all of them(+Hajime) cause she wanted them to know that they are loved at least by one person. Like during some time in December she shows up and is like "hey everyone Yukizome let me in to give you Christmas gifts and advice letters early cause I asked nicely." everyone at first is confused as to who she is until Gundham asks when did she have time off work to show up at all and calling her mom in the process that they realize.

The gifts she gave were all hand made and the advice is what they needed and she is just so loving that Gundham is just standing in the corner both embarrassed his mom mentioned how she knew what advice they needed + what they liked from him and envious cause they are getting his mom's affection and he's from what I know an only child.

Nagito cried when he got his gift and advice because as we all know he hasn't gotten parental affection in so many years he forgot what that shit was and Gundham's mom is there like "are you OK???" because while she knows a lot she only knows what Gundham knows so the fact that Nagito is affection starved half to death is probably a thing she doesn't know.

Hajime felt appreciated by her and would kill for Gundham's mom if she asked him no hesitation. She officially gets adopted as class mom in such a way that after she leaves multiple people ask Gundham for either her number or address(or both) just to talk to her more. And Gundham never denies them and is only concerned by how many of them lack parental affection to the point they turning to his mom.

Just saying I Stan mom Tanaka.

i have some snazzy little opinions, so let’s just go down the line:

!!Really long post under cut!!

-Makoto is a basic bitch, always and forever, and we stan that -Taka looks like a Penguin and you cannot change my mind -Byakuya is just trying to look rich- -Mondo’s outfit is so extra i love it- he even added some probably temporary dye to his pompadour that was hard to see due to the lighting in the group pic -LEON! everyone was calling his fit ugly in the group pic and honestly i’m salty because he and i have the same sense of formal fashion. work it king! -Hifumi’s honestly suits him just fine, i was iffy when i saw it in the group pic but it doesn’t look too awful in full -Hiro..... buddy- i- i mean- what do i say??? it’s ugly as shit and really nice at the same time?? -Sayaka’s formal wear is a massive step up from the outfit she wears in her splash art- i never really liked that dress that much- even if it does have a cultural significance the design the picked felt cheap. But this one is really nice, and i dig it way more -Kirigiri looks pretty, it looked waaaay more purple in the group pic, but looking back the whole thing was over saturated for the lighting affects they did, so i shall forgive. she looks oddly nice in blue actually. -AOI LOOKS LIKE A BETA FISH AND I’M LIVING FOR IT! GO QUEEN!! -Toko’s dress looks way better in full than i expected, because so much of it was covered up i kinda didn’t like it all that much in the group pic, but i’m really digging it now -QUEEN SAKURA! BEAUTIFUL!! A DAMN SUNSET OF A DRESS!!! i love seeing her indulge in being a gorgeous queen despite people’s remarks on her physique -Celeste! also beautiful, but girl are you a vampire?? the layers on that dress- and that’s a massive veil- she’s gotta be overheating in that thing. -JUNKO! Fashionista know’s what’s up! it’s alot less gaudy than some of her casual outfits, but in a way that’s actually pretty good. i love the masquerade mask, it’s a nice touch -Chihiro....... Lucky Charms-

-Hajime’s outfit actually looks better in the group pic than here, i think it’s cause the yellow is more vibrant due to the saturation filter, so it stand out more -Nagito’s outfit is great honestly, i love how they put the shirt design on the sleeves, and i love the half-up hair, and the crooked bowtie- it’s great! -Twogami is a king, all he did was invert Byakua’s outfit and he just pulls it off so much better -Gundham’s is honestly underwhelming. This is Gundham Tanaka for fuck sake! Junko’s is more in character than this. where’s the drama sir???? -Kaz... buddy..... the colors look nice on your jumpsuit, but not an actual suit. I love the suspenders though -Teruteru’s outfit actually make him a bit cute. i’m about 80% sure the brown is suppose to be mud as to reference the fact that he’s characterized as a pig in more ways than one, but i’m choosing to call it a cola pattern ‘cause fuck you i’m going to be nice to him for once -Nekomaru’s suit is... it feels like a cursed amalgamation of a noir detective, a car sales men, a mobster, and a casino owner- and i just works so well on him -Fuyuhiko! i love it, fits him well, but the rolled up slacks are odd and kinda distracts me from the rest of the design- showing off some Bi pride there boss baby? -AKANE IS A DAMN QUEEN!! GOD PLEASE SHE COULD STRIKE ME DEAD IN THAT AND I’D THANK HER -Chiaki’s is simple, but it looks really nice on her -SONIA MY QUEEN! the oversaturation in the group pic did her dress dirty! i saw the blue originally and went “that isn’t her color”, but now seeing it without all the lighting crap she looks alot better.... and also a bit Elsa-ish -Hyoko’s in a lovely Kimono, but she’s always wearing pretty Kimonos, so it’s somewhat underwhelming compared to the rest -MAHIRU YOU SUMMER QUEEN! Mahiru has the best sense of fashion in the whole series imo, her wardrobe’s vibes make me so very happy. I grew up in a christian household (i’m not religious anymore btw) and use to be brought to services, and her dress gives me mad Easter Sunday Potluck nostalgia that i just can’t un-notice -Mikan looks too much like a hooker- i’m sorry, they really just went with the fan-service crap here and i don’t like it at all. Even if it wasn’t meant to be fan service, the dress looks tacky and has a shine on it that signifies it’s latex, so that’s just gotta be uncomfortable as hell- and for a clumsy character like her to try and survive a party in??? -IBUKI LOOKS LIKE FANCY RAVE COTTON CANDY!! THAT’S ALL!!! -Peko’s Kimono looks surprisingly nice on her, she wasn’t a character i’d assume to look good in a checker pattern but damn. i also appreciate how she still has the sword, bet- Fuyuhiko tired to convince her to leave it behind but failed

-Rantaro looks like a Used Car Salesmen. -KOKICHI MY BELOVED!!! i already voiced how much i adore his outfit when the group pic came out, so instead might i point out that he’s wearing high-water slacks and tall socks? it’s just as jarring as Fuyuhiko’s bi-slacks, but this is Kokichi so i feel like he did it on purpose. -Kiibo??? he dead ass changed his plating i-???? idk what i’m feeling towards it, but boy howdy am i feeling -GONTA!!! i love his suit, it’s out there in a good way, and i also love how he’s holding what looks like his casual coat. -Shuichi looks lovely in that suit, and i’ll never forgive everyone ever for saying he looked like a grandpa in it. It make him look a bit more Sherlock-esque and i love -3- -KORK IN A DRESS EVERYBODY MOVE!! i love how Androgynous his outfit is, both in gender and in time. like- is it feminine? masculine? modern? 1800′s england? who the fuck knows! -Ryoma looks good, but the fedora- who tf on the design staff decided to get cheeky?? eh- he’s vibing, doesn’t look too bad so long as you don’t hyperfixate on the pointy groin-stabber fedora -KAITO YOU SNAZZY GALAXY PATTERN SNORTING BASTARD! i swear he’s allergic to putting his right arm in it’s sleeve-. anywho, i love how even his dress jacket has a galaxy lining in it, i think it would have been funny if he was wearing galaxy dress shoes too but Maki would have chopped his dick off for that one -Kaede looks like her dress was inspired by one of those cinnamon peppermints- ya know the ones, they have the pink center and all that jazz? -Miu looks like she’s ready to hit up a casino in LA and honestly that’s such a good vibe! her skirt is a bit funky so it took me a hot sec to realize it was indeed a pencil skirt and not a fancy jumpsuit. -Tusmugi’s looks nice, i don’t have much else to say- kinda fitting considering her Plain Jane shtick -TENKO LOOKS LIKE SHE’S THIS CLOSE TO BREAKING OUT INTO A TAP DANCE AND I’M SO FUCKING HERE FOR IT!!! GO QUEEN!!!! -Kirumi is- well- i don’t go to Genshin Impact, but she looks like that one Genshin character, you know the one right? i think their name was a Starbucks drink size- they have a harp?? yeah -Maki’s dress is really pretty, it is a bit odd for her to wear that considering her character, but i can’t say she doesn’t rock it like the queen she is. -Himiko would be nicer without the transparent extra part- it make her looks like one of those half sphere popper things my friends terrorized me with in middle school. Other than that, you go you cute little magical girl you! -ANGIE OH MY FUCK!!! i love- i- dfj;adgad;jdgd!#2342nh;werkw??? i have no clue at this point what culture she’s suppose to be from, but that definitely looks like some traditional garb she’s got going on and holy crap is is pretty

Over all, i think the staff did a great job with this, i love a good lot of the outfits alot more than i though i would from the group pic. I do wish they would have added at least Komaru and Mukuro though- gimmy my queens yo!

oooo someone underrated! this one's going to be difficult! one of the coolest things I've noticed about the Danganronpa fandom is that all of the characters, even if they only appear for ten seconds in canon, have stans and fans and long fics on AO3. like, leon kuwata has hundreds of fanfics, and he's one of the first people to die. as far as I know, most of the characters are very loved by Danganronpa players and connoisseurs, regardless of their actual screentime.

so if i had to choose someone i feel like doesn't have NEARLY as many fics as they deserve - chihiro from V1. (note that yes i am using they/them pronouns on purpose because the way Danganronpa handled chihiro's gender identity was Terminally 2000s)

chihiro literally saves the game! they save makoto from his execution! (did makoto deserve it? no he did not but that's a debate for another day) okay they technically didn't do it because they were dead at the time but if it hadn't been for alter ego, the survivors from V1 wouldn't have made it. they're literally such an important character and i don't see people appreciating them as much as they deserve. best hacker <3
