earlier today kokichi told you he was going to the store. usually the two of you do the shopping together, so you were suspicious when he told you not to worry about helping out. nevertheless, you went about your afternoon routine while waiting for him to come back. you did the dishes, made the bed, and since kokichi was nice enough to do the weekly grocery shopping for you, you decided to cook a meal with what you had left.

as you're transferring the dishes to the kitchen table, you hear a familiar jingling sound, like keys.

he's home!

the doorknob turns, and in walks your boyfriend. when you round the corner to greet him, you notice that he only has one bag in his hand.

"where's the rest of the groceries?" you ask, and he bounds towards you, pulling you into a hug.

"i lied, i didn't actually go grocery shopping. sorry!" he smiles cheekily as you roll your eyes. now what are you supposed to do? you're almost out of food. "but," he continues, "i did get you a surprise. it's for later though, so you're not allowed to see it yet."

he pats your head, earning another eye roll, and you drag him to the kitchen. he sets the plastic bag down, but you can't see what's inside. you doubt he would let you look, anyway. when your boyfriend sees the large meal you made for him, his eyes light up.

"you made this for me?" he beams, eyeing up the dishes.

"i did it because i thought you were shopping for groceries. this is the last of our food," you complain, glaring at him. he sighs, without a care in the world, and wraps his arms around your waist. leaning into your ear, he whispers.

"i'll go shopping tomorrow, i promise. and you'll be too tired to go with me, anyways." he presses a kiss to your cheek, leaving you to wonder what he means. but you don't ask, because he is already sat at the table chowing down on the noodles you made. you follow, sitting down across from him and picking up your fork.

both your days were uneventful, so your dinner is spent pretty quietly. once both your plates are cleared, you get up to put the dishes in the sink, but he beats you to it.

"don't worry about any of the cleanup, i got it," he winks, setting the dishes down. you furrow your brows.

"what's your motive?" you ask. you're unconvinced that he would be this caring and thoughtful just because.

you watch your boyfriend turn the corner and fetch the plastic bag. you can't see what he takes out, he's hiding it, but you can hear the crumbling of a wrapper.

"i got dessert!" he grins, skipping back over to you. there is a chocolate bar in his palm. he breaks it in half, and hands one piece to you. you cock an eyebrow at him, but take it.

"a chocolate bar for dessert?" you ask, but bite into it anyways. kokichi waits for you to chew and swallow, before biting into his own piece. you catch a glint in his eyes, and his lips turn up into a smirk. he's making the usual face he makes when he is attempting something mischievous. but what the fuck would he have done to a chocolate bar?

maybe he's waiting for you to finish it to tell you it's made of bugs or something.

but no, it tastes good, and by the time you both finish the bar, it's like he forgot all about it... what is his plan?

kokichi takes care of the dishes while you settle down in bed to watch tv before going to sleep. it's not exactly close to the time you normally go to sleep, but it's dark and you don't have anything else to do for the day.

after ten minutes watching a silly show, your boyfriend pops into the room. he closes the bedroom door behind him, and approaches the bed. with no warning, he runs and jumps on top of you, knocking the air out of your lungs.

"ah! kokichi, why-" you scream, startled by his sudden movement. the little shit lays on top of you, wrapping his arms around your torso.

"watcha watchin'?" he smiles, pressing a kiss to your cheek. you reach around to tangle your fingers in his hair, scratching his head.

"just some sitcom that was on," you shrug. kokichi turns his attention to the tv, and to your dismay, rolls over onto the mattress. he sits up for a second to take off his shirt and pants, leaving him in just his boxers.

now, you've seen your boyfriend naked a thousand times. you've seen him in just his underwear a thousand more. it wasn't new. but for some reason, right now, you can feel yourself heating up. a familiar fluttery sensation twists your stomach, and your heart skips a beat. what the fuck? why are you getting so hot and bothered over something kokichi does every night? he always sleeps in his boxers.

whatever, you think to yourself, and shift your attention back to the sitcom.

Sooo I like, posted this on wattpad, but decided it needed to be redone. So here’s a new version with Shuichi, Kokichi, Rantaro, Keebo, Korekiyo, and Gonta !!

➼ He’s insecure and fidgety. He’s also very quiet, his eyes darting between you and the person you’re talking with.

➼ He trusts you, there’s no question about that. But he’s still insecure. They were so much more confident and good-looking, and Shuichi felt inferior next to them.

➼ If he’s confident enough, he’ll hold your hand or put his hand on your shoulder in a sort of protective gesture.

➼ He won’t speak up unless the person you’re talking to goes too far, such as beginning to initiate a kiss or very direct flirts.

➼ Once they do that, Shuichi will step in and tell them to go away and leave you two alone.

➼ Rantaro’s chill about it, at least, that’s the one part that you see of him.

➼ He doesn’t talk much. Instead, he stares at the person dead in the eye as a predator stalking its prey would.

➼ He puts an arm around your back, holding you closer to him as he continues glaring at the person.

➼ It doesn’t take long for the person to succumb to the threatening glare of your boyfriend and excuse themselves (if they’re normal).

➼ If they don’t go away, Rantaro’ll step in and counterattack the person’s pick - up lines with comments such as: “Mm, what website did you find that line on?” “If you’re going to flirt, at least use pick - up lines that aren’t so overused.”

➼ When they leave, Rantaro will plant a kiss to your forehead, and then your lips - telling you that he loves you.

➼ Keebo’s very protective, he’ll detect it right away.

➼ He would put a hand on your shoulder, an uneasy look on his face.

➼ He’d say something like, “Could you please … back off?”

- Whether it's platonic or not, the first time you ask to cuddle is bound to be a little bit awkward- considering how Kokichi isn't very used to physical affection. Not only that, it's also a bit scary for the both of you

- Although you're smaller, you have to be the bigger person, and take the leap of faith yourself with this one. Unfortunately, Kokichi isn't really the type to act when he is unsure of himself and, when it comes to cozy affections and you in particular, well... let's just say he doesn't exactly trust himself to make the right moves- if any at all

- Is he scared? Of you? Of trusting you to be in such close proximity to him? Of you trusting him when he can barely trust himself? Of bugs? Pfft- what- uh... no? Maybe? He pleads the fifth? Actually, maybe the last one...

- When you finally ask, he is less shocked, more so confused. Rather, he thinks you're confused: why would you want to cuddle with him? Where are the cameras? Were you bribed? Blackmailed? Did Maki threaten you to do this? To tempt him with simple, comforting affection, then to pull back last minute?

- ... From the genuine look on your face, he doesn't think so. He supposes he trusts you enough to cuddle with him. You smile when he agrees, though he can still see some left-over anxiety on your face from this new situation

- The first time -the first few, in fact- he sits there, completely still, frozen, not moving, some other fourth thing that basically means stops functioning completely, as you carefully wrap your arms around him. You see, he's a little overwhelmed but won't admit it. You're pretty sure you broke him, and would move away to check on him if it wasn't for the light grip he has on your arm that revealed his real response

- You attempt to reassure him that he can cuddle back, that you weren't going to bite, but he breaks from his frozen state specifically to comment on how weird of a phrase 'I won't bite' is, and that he knows you won't, he just doesn't feel like it. It hurt you a little, but you know it's new to him and that he'll do so when he's ready

- Eventually, Kokichi realises that he can't keep not reciprocating forever, so he makes an attempt at cuddling you back... which ends with just a very awkward pat from him. He's improving! You notice, but don't comment, just giving him a smug little smile that knows you're winning him over, which he then gives back to you

- After what feels like a lifetime, and with him hyping himself up mentally for this moment, Kokichi is able to finally cuddle you back! Yay! Until he can feel himself start to get a little too comfortable in your arms, and immediately moves away, shoving you a little. No! After making him apologise for shoving you, you calm yourself and request an honest explanation as to why he is so reluctant to cuddle you, and if you should just stop

- ...Where he proceeds to immediately lie and say that yes, totally, absolutely, you should stop because you're not cool enough to cuddle him and- and-

- That's when you realise how much this is effecting him. So you calm him, putting a little bit of distance between the two of you, and ask once again if he wants to cuddle with you. He hesitates, exaggerating a little so you can't see the sincerity in his thought, and with an extended wellllll, he admits he's fine with it. He was just lying about you not being cool enough! Obviously!

- Then the two of you just sit there. Silent. Waiting for something you’re uncertain will happen, something Kokichi hasn't figured out yet. Until it occurs to him. Oh!

- ...

- Oh-

- Another hesitation. The silence continues. A hand outstretches a slither of an amount, then curling back into himself. Patiently, you wait, not making the first move. Kokichi takes a small breath in: maybe he is scared. Just a little bit. He stares at his hands, then at you. Slowly, and cautiously, he engulfs you in his arms and allows himself to relax- to trust you and himself

- Kokichi lets himself be comfortable with you

Ever wonder where Kokichi used that card key motive from Chapter 4? As it happens, I've actually found the answer to that.

...Please excuse the giant Kokichi legs, I needed to put someone there to check the coordinates of the object I was searching for.

Chapter 6's version of the school courtyard map has two curiously named unused objects in its map data: "ihauma" and "ouma_cardkey". Above is the position of the ouma_cardkey object; this odd elevator in the backyard of the school which is visible throughout Chapter 6. You can check it out for yourself! Needless to say, when you take the name into account, this elevator seems to be where Kokichi used that card key. Time to sit down and revise some theories...

The other unused object, "ihauma", is probably a romanized いはうま ("i" is horse). This is the answer to one of Rantaro's safes in the original Japanese version of the game, and was localized to "horse a". Sure enough, when I loaded the object into the game and found its position on the map, I found this:

...Please excuse the giant Kaede feet.

But this marked up stone slab next to the boiler room seems to be where "horse a" was written on the map. No wonder Gonta noticed it, considering he also found the manhole in the boiler room!
