She...doesn't feel better, really. She stopped the heavy crying, sure, but she hasn't fully calmed down. It might take her some time...no one can blame her: personal jabs at her regarding her familial issues just...triggered something horrible in her, and she still feels very hurt. Now she's just tired...she needs the rest.

"...she's been crying for two hours, Alastor: we can't even calm her down."

"..."

"Alastor? Hon?"

"...I..."

...the smile on his face dropped the moment Sam closed her eyes, and he wiped her tears.

He had to stay strong for his little girl...his little girl. He never would've thought he would use those three words when speaking about her. Yet he simply did so, and it made him all the more soft. She was sweet, quiet, and had bursts of energy: he admired that. She was a good dancer, a singer, and loved anything about the Roaring Twenties: but she clung to him and trusted him, and that's what drew him to her.

This was his adoptive daughter now...his and DT's. He had to show her love, and not break promises. She didn't have to worry about him and DT drinking...which was good.

He was swarmed in his thoughts, he was tuning them out unintentionally. He was focused on getting Sam to calm down, but the more she cried, the more his heart shattered.

"...I failed her."

The tears said it all: literal. Tears. He cared for her more than he let on, and it was making him sentimental...in the best ways, however.

"You didn't fail her, hon."

"I did. I should've been there when that wretched anon shattered her with their commentary. I should've been there to comfort her sooner...but I wasn't."

"That doesn't mean you failed her. You found out when you could, and what matters is that she's safe in your arms. That she calms down."

"...but what if she doesn't...?"

"...you're going to hate this idea."

"How so...?"

"If she doesn't calm down in the next twenty minutes, we...we take her to Black Hat."

"...Black Hat."

There's fear and nervousness in his voice now. They tried to ease their husband by gently placing their hand on his leg.

"If she doesn't calm down. If she does, then disregard. I mean...everyone has already tried getting her to calm down, or talk...Mordecai hugged her for Christ's sake, and that didn't work! Ghirahim tried calming her by taking her hair down, but also nothing! Another person she confides in is Black Hat. He'll surely be able to calm her."

"...if you say so, my love."

"We'll get her through this...trust me."

i like the owl house a good bit but i wish they'd take raine out of nonbinary gay baby jail

This is mainly a filler chapter so apologies if it's a bit dry, I'm trying to go into as much detail with the reader and her life so that the plot makes more sense. Also, I FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO MY CLASSES SO I CAN FOLLOW MY POSTING SCHEDULE, YAYYYY!!!! Thank you guys for your patience, I really appreciate it.

I did delete the original chapter for this so the sneak peek I posted was for the old chapter, this is the final cut for the chapter so it's completely different than what I posted. The reason why It took so long for me to post today was because I was editing mama Neytiri *smirking intensely*. Also, my brain is still fried, and I start more classes tomorrow so....I'm crying internally.

You hadn't gone to sleep until an hour before sunrise, so you were exhausted to say the least. Jake was okay with you sleeping in some more for rest, but Neytiri countered, you needed to do your chores and you had said the night before you would watch Tuk. Kiri was going to assist Ronal and Neytiri in Tsahik-training and the brothers were joining a hunt with Aonung and Rotxo earlier in the morning.

Neytiri was upset with your reckless decision to stay up so late but she had promised Kiri would be done by lunch so you could take a nap. You had been struggling with nightmares, you had no idea what they meant, and you refused to talk about them. Even Kiri was clueless to your nightmares.

Kiri didn't think you'd hide anything from her, as you both promised to always share everything, and it was very difficult to hide anything from each other. You held your end of the promise... somewhat, you didn't want to worry her or anyone, so you hid it.

You couldn't even turn to Eywa for help, as you couldn't even properly connect to the tree. Mo'at thought it was a sign from Eywa for some greater purpose for you in life, but Norm thought it was something to do with the malfunctioning of your Neural Queue. He explained that the Avatar's body is not as fully functioning as a Na'vi body at times, and you could've unluckily gotten some sort of mutant gene from the human DNA that didn't allow your Neural Queue to work the same as others. It was odd though, you had no issue connecting to animals, just connecting to any trees related to Eywa.

You had tried before, the farthest you had gotten to connecting to Eywa was a white room of sorts. Nothing but you, the brightness of the white around you, and the echos of your voice begging for someone to respond.

That was the day the nightmares had begun, depicting war and violence, filling you with nothing but anger and hatred towards the sky people. On occasions even towards Jake, who you had lashed out at saying to him he was nothing but ' a disgusting alien bringing violence and war wherever he went.' Of course, you apologized and got heavily grounded afterwards, but Neytiri was beginning to worry that the lack of connection you had with Eywa was starting to affect you.

You tried not to let it affect you too much, you tried not to stress over things way beyond your control.

As of now you had your head rested in your hands, sitting crisscross with your elbow resting on your knee. Tuk was playing in the water, looking at surrounding coral and observing the fish.

You tail wagged a bit, moving lazily over the rock you were sitting on. You hear footsteps next to you, several people calling out your name.

" (y/n)!!" Lo'ak was the first to make his way to you, Tuk turning to him with." Hi Lo'ak!" She smiled before a yellow-ish green fish caught her attention; she immediately went back to observing the waters.

" Where's Neteyam?" You asked, your ears perked up at his presence, watching as he plopped himself next to you. He pointed towards the beach." He, Rotxo, and Aonung were right behind me, I don't know where they went though. Don't really care either." He shrugged, placing his feet in the water.

"Oh." You yawned, you were trying your best to stay awake but you knew you'd pass out soon." Hey, do you mind watching Tuk for a little bit?" You asked Lo'ak and he gave you a side eye. He wasn't happy about it but he knew something was bothering you and keeping you up so of course he wasn't going to be apathic towards you and keep you from sleep.

" Yeah sure, be here before dinner though. Mom will be upset if you're not back by then." You nodded and stood up, stretching your body from being in the same position for almost half an hour.

Normally your napping routine included flying (y/i/n) to a random and secluded area and napping together until it was time to head back. That or you let her fly freely through the air as you napped on her back.

This time you wanted to be alone, you currently didn't want to be around anyone or anything. You just wanted to lie down someplace and just sleep. Hopefully dreamless.

You made your way into the woods, not bothering to really watch where you're going, just trying to stay on your feet. You wanted to lay yourself on the ground floor of Pandora and just listen to the heartbeat that echoed from within the empty-feeling heart of Eywa. Your true mother, you may not be able to connect to her with your braid, but you didn't need to.

You could hear her silent comforting words within the wind, whispering in your ear words of encouragement that had never left your parents lips. Your feet carried you across the Earthy flooring of the walkway towards the denser part of the forest. The mother trees, the children, all of their silent voices being carried by the cool breeze.

The sound of the ocean's waves hitting the beach slowly vanished as your ears focused on listening to the birds and rustling of the trees. The longer you listened the more you tried to think of it as the Jungle's trees rustling or the animals singing.

You missed your home, and you will miss it as long as you remained on this planet. You were slowly falling into a depression, missing your home, your people... your family. It wasn't the type of sadness to make you cry, but the sadness that put a hole in your chest and made you feel empty. The Jungle was a part of you, and you missed it terribly.

You laid down on a patch of grass, running your hand over the blades of grass. Feeling the edges of the plant tickle your palm and the tips of your fingers. A comforting warmth drifted over you, the wind dying down as you closed your eyes and listened to the breath of the planet. You slowly began to drift, finally being able to rest.

Red. Orange. Yellow. Fire.

Surrounding you, ingulfing you but it didn't burn. It was like the rage of the flames understood you and you understood it. War almost feeling natural and like your second nature. You felt nothing as you cut through the humans like their life meant nothing to you.

It didn't, you could care less about these murderous and destructive aliens from afar. You wanted them dead, you wanted all of them to disappear. You weren't just angry, or rageful, you were vengeful. You were going to give them what they had given you, you were going to make them feel how you felt as you watched your friends and loved ones die for a fight that would never have happened if it weren't for them.

If it weren't for Jake Sully, HE started this, HE is the reason you are all on the run. Why didn't he just kill them all, why did he let them go back home in one piece. You would've shredded them until they weren't even recognizable, showed them to Eywa, your beloved mother that you would protect her at all costs.

These weren't your thoughts; you would never think this way of your father. What was this dream, who was this unrecognizable being?

You jolted awake, beads of sweat running down your face and tears sprung to your eyes. You hated these feelings, they were so foreign like they weren't even yours, but in a way comforting. You wanted to deny them but, on some level, you knew that you agreed with them.

You stood up and headed your way to a small stream nearby. You splashed water onto your face, wiping the tears from your eyes and staring at your reflection in the water.

You stood up, looking around realizing how late it was. It was way past Eclipse. You ran hand through your hair and drew a breath preparing to be grounded again. This was what? Your third or fourth time breaking a rule or causing trouble. Honestly you didn't care, at this point it'll happen at least every week.

You heard footsteps approaching you and you spun around on your feet in alert. Aonung appeared, he blinked a bit in surprise and then grinned." You have some awesome hearing, I thought I was being sneaky."

You rolled your eyes." You stomp, there's no way you could survive in the woods with those." You pointed at his feet, and he grumbled under his breath." My feet are not that big." He protested, placing a hand on his hip, his ears back in annoyance.

A small silence broke out, and you tried your best to keep your normal aggravating smirk placed on your lips. Aonung could see past it though, he paid enough attention to tell that you were not doing so well. He didn't watch you or anything, he was just very aware and constantly read people. Maybe at times he would watch you with someone and pick up on your mannerisms more than he would with anyone else, but so what you were his friend.

Well...friends a stretch still.

" What's wrong?" He asked, he might not be the best at comforting, but he was willing to try. You brushed him off." Your presence always seems to dampen my mood, have you not noticed?" You teased but he didn't return your teasing.

" I'm serious, whatever's bothering you, you can tell me." Aonung placed himself in front of you and placed a kind hand on your shoulder. Your shoulders tensed and your jaw tightened, the smirk falling off your face for a split second.

" Now what's got you all tinder hearted your big teddy bear!" You pinched the side of his ribs lightly and he instinctively pulled away." What? What is a t-eddy barer??" You slapped a hand over your mouth giggling at his terrible English." Did you just insult me? It is one of those human insults, isn't it?"

Your worries and bad dreams disappeared instantly, Aonung unintentionally brightened your day-or rather night. Speaking of night, you needed to hurry and get back to your families Marui. You looked towards the path that led you back to the beach.

" Don't worry, it's not as late as it seems, just after dinner. Lo'ak and I covered for you so you're fine." He gave you his charming smile, the calmest you've ever seen him be. You grinned, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and dragging him closer to you." You know...I kinda like you a bit now."

" Just a bit?" He teased and he placed a hand on your other shoulder. You put your other hand up and put your pointer finger and thumb almost touching." Just a smidge."

" So does that mean I've finally won you over?" He asked, his tone was light and teasing but he was asking an actual question he's been dying to bring up." Won me over? Hell no!" You shook your head." I'm not gonna be friends with you that easily, you have to do something biiiig." You exaggerated and he rolled his eyes, he should've known he wasn't going to get a real answer out of you.

Let's get the bad news out of the way first: I'm no longer posting my 'Post-war' series on Tumblr. I have almost no audience for it on here, and all the links for everything are a lot to deal with. Don't worry, it is still continuing, but only on Ao3 for registered members (a round of applause for AI). However, my mind is subject to change, so argue your case in my ask box, and I might consider posting it here again. Also, I'm still super thankful to everyone on here who gave me support, I couldn't do what I'm doing without it. <3 <3 <3

Btw Alliance of the Heart and Fates Rewritten will continue on here.

Another thing: I will be participating in Entrapdak Positivity Month this year, and this will be an Ao3 exclusive. So, I recommend getting a registered account (it's free, and it's worth it). This also means AotH and FR will be on pause until the event is over (sorry).

One last thing: On Ao3, the post-war series has another installment called "Developing a Self', which is a collection of one-shots focused around Hordak and his brothers establishing themselves after the war. It introduces some mildly important characters, so I'm trying to get as many chapters out before EPM. It already has three chapters, and chapter four will be posted very soon.

I always thought “DuckTales” ended too soon. We could’ve seen more of Violet’s dad. Whatever they had planned for Negaduck, and they could’ve bought Poe (Magica’s brother) into the mix making him and Magica co-big bads of a hypothetical S4

Hey so I accidentally did the thing again where I wrote like 500 words. Apparently I have strong feelings about this, so bare with me. Or don't. Either way works. But big thanks for the inbox! I really do appreciate it.

I really try to be happy with what we have, because Ducktales is my absolute favorite show and nothing's gonna ruin that for me.

But, yeah, being critical for a moment, the show ending early really messed with everything. Suddenly the large cast was fighting for a rapidly shrinking amount of screen time, and arcs had to be rushed or minimized to fit the overarching plot. It wasn't a great situation.

Like, it's not Owl House bad, where entire concepts need to be squeezed down into one or two scenes, or even montages. But the difference is that the Owl House seems to be managing that crunch a lot better than Ducktales did.

Again, the cast being as big and fleshed out as it is, it's hard to divvy up a 22-episode season where everybody gets adequate time and also wraps up their story in a satisfying way. But the DT crew decided to just keep adding and adding and adding. This was supposed to be their biggest season ever. Several ideas were thrown onto the screen and then not followed up on because there just wasn't time for it.

"Astro B.O.Y.D." is my favorite episode of Season 3. And not to diminish that fact, but does any of it get followed up on? I don't think we saw Boyd once until the finale. We just didn't have any time for that.

Bringing Poe in for "Life and Crimes" is an interesting concept. But why are you introducing that A WEEK BEFORE THE SHOW ENDS, especially if it will have pretty much zero impact on anything else.

May and June didn't even get to exist for longer than an episode. You're bringing in pivotal characters in the series finale?

Negaduck! Where was he? Oh, they couldn't fit him in the show! My point exactly.

*deep breath in* *deep breath out*

I have no doubt that the DT crew put these elements in as a love letter to the past. It's very neat that they would do that, and it introduces a younger person like me to these great characters. But it just leaves us asking these sorts of questions. Leaves us wishing we had more than just one episode, or even just one scene.

I get that Disney is weird about shows having three seasons, but I still to this day don't understand why Ducktales couldn't be an exception to that. It's a reboot of the show that made DTVA, but better. It introduced so many legacy Disney characters to a modern audience and was well-received pretty much anywhere you looked. Everyone involved loved working on it and probably would have kept doing so for as long as possible. Not only did they have more stories to tell, but they clearly wanted to tell them. I just... I don't understand it.

Amphibia ended because the story being told was over. The Owl House is ending because it's too gay. But Ducktales ended... just because.

If Disney green lights six DT17 spinoffs for D+ covering each team's post-canon adventures, I will upgrade to ad-free Hulu.

Hiya, I hope you're doing great, I always love seeing everything you post and have to say. I just really needed someone else in the DT fandom to celebrate all the awesome David content lately. Georgia's last few Instagram posts make me especially happy because David seems so happy and healthy lately. He seems so much more energized and fuller faced and just like he's finally gotten time to relax, and celebrate birthday 2.0, and I'm so glad, because he just seems to work nonstop so often and for a while there, even David's limitless energy seemed a bit lower than usual. Though, that being said, I'm still very much looking forward to him and Michael soon promoting GO2!

(Putting these together, since they're all related to the fake birthday post from Georgia from last week.)

Let's get a few visuals up here so we can discuss. These (as I recall) were posted just a day or two apart, so they go well together:

I agree that David has been working so incredibly hard lately (not that he ever doesn't work hard, of course), but something in particular about Good and the role of John Halder really seemed to take a toll on him. You could see it in countless stage door pictures--the way his face looked thin, and (as you said) his seemingly limitless energy starting to flag. It was such a beautiful thing for him to be out there at all, signing programs and meeting fans after giving 110% out on stage, night after night.

But there seems to be this part of David (hello, Scottish Presbyterian upbringing) that feels like he always has to be working, and grateful to others for showing up to see him work. I think part of it is David just knowing what it's like to be a fan and so not wanting to let fans down, but it does seem to result in him not always taking care of himself as much as he should.

So yes, the change and contrast from a month or so ago to now is incredibly heartwarming to see. David does indeed seem very happy and healthy and full of renewed energy. (I also wonder if this could perhaps be due to Michael being in London for that BAFTA Cymru event last week, and the two of them hopefully seeing each other while he was there... 👀)

Also Anon #3: I definitely do see a little bit of Phileas hair going on (David's hair is just fucking gorgeous when it's a little longer, so whether it's related to Phileas or not, I am here for it). We know that ATWI80D has been renewed for a second season, though I am not sure when filming is set to begin--and I imagine we'd see the return of the moustache (ye gods) as well when that happens, so I don't think we're there just yet.

We really do have so many things involving David to look forward to this year (the filming of ATWI80D season 2, GO season 2, and of course the press tour with Michael). My hope is that David continues to make time to rest and enjoy himself, because as we can see, it does his body good (and so does Michael). David's (real) birthday is coming up next month, too, so fingers crossed we get some lovely content from Georgia then as well. Thanks for writing in, Anons! xx

okay i saw the post you reblogged about espn's lando "appreciation post" but can i also just say i find the timing of that entire post very odd? we've had races where he's been sick and has finished in the points, we've had a race where he was the only non-frontrunner to get a podium, but instead they choose a race where basically they know there's going to be a ton of controversy and hate? (and every comment on that post is hateful. i remember seeing it yesterday, scrolled, and not a single positive comment or even "get well" or anything). idk i know people have been recognizing how awful sky has been to lando lately, but as a north american fan, ESPN has been awful about spreading the conspiracy theories about what an evil bully lando/mclaren is for the past two years. they've been awful about spreading myths and misinformation about him. they've been awful about completely belittling every accomplishment he's achieved in f1 because "he's not a race winner." i'm probably overthinking it but ESPN has been absolutely awful towards lando and i don't think the timing of that post was accidental and i think they probably knew the kind of response they were going to draw when they made it, just like basically every other article/post they have made about him this year.

EVERY lando post (bar maybe... three?) is literally just pile-on bait and taking anything he's ever said out of context. which is like the universal Thing To Do to lando but whatever. they quote some random on how lando’s god’s gift as a discussion post (29.9k likes, 753 comments); they quote max on how lando's made to look in dts ('[like] a bit of a dick') - although max is defending him, it's just another invitation to a steaming shitpile of comments (380). even when they praise lando, it's designed to generate controversy (and it does! 1036 comments). they quote lando's joke about his basketball helmet and merc's bouncing (281 comments), which also. yeah. lol. for contrast, the non-baity basketball driving an f1 car generates 34 COMMENTS. what do you do for a living? 91k likes, 110 (overwhelmingly nice) comments. lol

then there's the danielbait. lando's used as the poster child (literally) for a shit day out for mclaren - meanwhile, dr gets used in posts about upgrades for the team. this is similar. if he’s mentioned in the same BREATH as daniel it’s unfailingly to villify him or show him eating shit lol. or it's the corden stuff, which is the most neutral content all year because all the comments are fuck james corden. we can debate The State of McLaren elsewhere but really truly every espn post is danielprop. across 3 days in august they posted domenicali saying there would be no racing in russia and SIX daniel stannie defence posts (one of which is a blatant invitation to the girlies to say fuck you lando) and NOTHING ELSE. they want dr on their comms team sooooo bad. next!

what else is there, user mediapen?, i hear you cry! don't worry! here are the landoposts i judge to be neutral. all two of them.

here's lando on carlos' win, which is met by a predictable mix of ‘carlando 🥹’ and 'sAyS tHe MaN wItHoUt A wIn.' and here's lando talking about the online abuse he's received, some of the responses to which are, naturally: ‘says the nerd. grow up’; ‘lando nohoes’; ‘woke generation man 😂.’ otherwise, the comments are surprisingly okay.

NOW THEN. what has lando done this season, aside from securing 7th in the wdc standings? why, he was the only best of the rest driver to get a podium, of course! what did espn say about that? fucking nothing! except here he is in the cool down room. congrats lando.

lit review over. now, discussion. the thing about the lando appreciation post is that, unlike almost all other espnlandoposts, it doesn't come with an obvious invitation to stir shit. he just looks miserable and the colouring is dire. however, the special kind of people who live on instagram instinctively do that shit unprompted, and the timing AND content are questionable. a social media admin is surely gonna know the state of The Discourse on any given race day. as to the question of whether it's all deliberate: there’s massive engagement with all these landoposts (which is what they're angling for!), so we’re toeing a line between two cynical positions here (fuck lando specifically vs. a brand knowing how to rile up instagrammies).

i think. like. if it wasn’t so pervasive i could dismiss it, and if the tv comms weren't so... Like That, it'd also be easier. but genuinely EVERY landopost is designed to provoke. why would this one be any different? like i'm normal i don't think they engineered a instachirlie pile-on but also their entire track record in terms of their use of lando has absolutely zero regard for him as a person. he's literally a tool for engagement and a villain in the danielstory why would they care if his tumby hurted and he shidded everywhere lol.

Elkann spoke about Charles being the future of Ferrari this year. But it was also with the criticism Ferrari got when they did not prioritized him when he was still a championship contender and with the drama around Binotto and the way he spoke about Ferrari ambitions.

I think it is more as an answer to questions from the press that just a statement that he put out there. He also had great words on Carlos.

It's still Ferrari. If Carlos is miles ahead of Charles 10 races on they will put everything behind him. Their goals are title. Ferrari are pretty known for their Ferrari first approach. They are a really powerful and prolific brand they don't need those drivers the way drivers need them. That what differentiate them from every other team despite not having great results for so long.

That being said their SM approach changed in the past 2 to 3 years. More open, more forward. And maybe that has something to do with the fact that one of their driver is becoming very well known even outside being affiliated with Ferrari and despite not winning a WDC. That's a first for them. For now it's Ferrari that get criticized when they don't win, not so much the drivers.

Let's remember they were one of the team that did not want to participate in DTS at first ! They started to become outdated for newer fans. Now even with their TP communication I feel they can see that they need to change their approach for the general public.

I think what you said about Ferrari first because I hadn't really thought about it exactly like that but it's true and it's true that Ferrari doesn't really need any driver because Ferrari is Ferrari and they hold a lot of weight in the F1 world (like being able to add that you're a Ferrari driver to your career resume is a jewel for most drivers!)

But I agree, Ferrari has really changed their approach as far as social media and just generally loosening up (like imagine telling a Ferrari fan in 2019 that they'd be posting thirst traps like they would never believe us and probs be VERY offended lol). I was really interested to see if Ferrari would dig in their heels (which is exactly what most people expected them to do) but they haven't and I think that takes a lot of guts, you know? Hats off to Ferrari

okay so here are my reactions for the plays!

Mother Goose:

Amazing! Great great show, silly just like I like. You forget everything for two hours! Lot of fandom jokes -Lotr for Ian obviously, as a comedian and DW for John.

A few jokes à la Shrek, meaning that the kid will laugh but the adults will get the real meaning ;)

And lucky enough to see John Bishop before the show, just as I was coming back from my run to Sainsbury's.

Good

Well honestly I was so exhausted from the day, and it's pretty heavy to get. Lot of characters played by the other actors with DT, the switch was nicely done but damn you have to stay focus.

Much as The Crucicle, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. But we did get DT doing a song with a little dance and it was super cute!

After the show he did autographs, and after signing he was looking into your soul while saying thank you. A man (around 50) was overjoyed because he asked him to sign 'to Alonso' and he did. What a cutie!

(Also appreciating that he was also masked because I felt pretty lonely all day between the train, underground, shops and plays...)

Previously, you two were sprawled on the couch watching a baking show, and you decided that it couldn't possibly be that hard to make chocolate chip cookies.
