i wish everyone who made kit connor feel he had to come out a very merry FUCK YOU. you forced an eighteen year old into coming out publicly, before he was ready, when he stated many many times he wanted to keep it private. how many more times does this shit have to fucking happen before some of you fucking clock that YOU CANNOT QUEERBAIT IN REAL LIFE. this is the natural end to the discourse of ‘if somebody is in the public eye playing a queer person they owe us their sexuality’, and it’s DEEPLY FUCKED UP, they do NOT owe you an answer, and this mindset JUST FORCED AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD TO OUT HIMSELF BEFORE HE WAS READY TO

I never like thinking about Merlin’s dragonlord heritage for too long because I start to think about the implications of it.
If the lord part of being a Dragonlord meant nobility, then surely Balinor had an estate/ noble house of some kind.
All I can imagine is Merlin finding that grand home one day, and it being nothing but a hollow ruin. Flying in the wind are burnt and tattered banners of a family crest that Merlin doesn’t know is his because that knowledge is forever lost. Rooms upon rooms that once were occupied by his ancestors, ancestors who he will never be able to name. The kitchen frozen in time with dusty and moulded plates sitting on the table, a plate that maybe his aunt or an uncle, maybe a grandparent or a cousin was eating from before Uther’s men came after them. Little trinkets, jewellery, heirlooms, beloved toys, precious keepsakes scattered everywhere, and he wouldn’t know that by default they were his.
He would walk those abandoned halls, seeing how clearly loved that home was, how full of life and people and family it had had before the purge had broken out: only to wish that he could have experienced that in his childhood.
He would just see that grand house as nothing more than another of Uther’s victims, completely unaware of his connection to the place.
EDIT: OH GOD WHAT IF MERLIN HAD A SIGIL???

Jazz is murdered in her Gotham apartment.
Red Hood is chasing the assailant and some bats come to help. Despite their best efforts, the assailant gets away. The bats have him cornered when he runs into the wall. Literally. He doesn’t come out the other side. They search everywhere but the assailant vanished without a trace.
Some weird government guys dressed in all white come and assess the scene. They are very official. Practically interrogating the officers on the scene and insisting on talking to the vigilantes who chased the assailant. After gathering all of the information they can, they tell their chief “The woman is dead. No, Phantom is not here. He was never here. No, she doesn’t appear to have become one of them.” They leave a card with GCPD to call in case anything changes. (Hood refers to them as “cryptic fuckers” or “dementor wannabes” from here on out)
Hood is pissed that the murderer got away, that secret government officials encroached on his territory, and that this woman seems to not be getting the justice she deserved. He knows how that feels. Not on his watch.
After Hood knows the autopsy has been completed, (he’s dealt with enough murder cases to gauge when it will be complete) he breaks into the morgue to take a look for himself. He opens the door to her slab, rolls her out and gets scared half to death when she thanks him for letting her out. She goes on to say she hasn’t figured out how to go intangible yet but Danny figured it out quick so it’s gotta be somewhat easy. Hood is trying his darnedest to not have a heart attack because she scared the crap outta him.
Meanwhile Danny’s wondering why he hasn’t heard from his sister in a few days.

Sometimes I think about Urianger's role in and feelings on the Thancred-Ryne dynamic and I think watching it kills him a bit inside. For several reasons.
Like, to begin with there's the guilt he's been carrying with him since he ushered Minfilia to the first, how he effectively killed the person Thancred cared about the most in the world and who's "death" ended up causing Ryne's entire Situation. He looks at what's happening between them and can only think "I caused this" even though that's not really true. No one person is responsible for this outcome, it's a culmination of several circumstances and the consequences of them. Logically, Urianger knows this. But it doesn't matter, because his guilt is overpowering his logic.
And also, like. What Thancred is doing here, the way he's knowingly letting Ryne be and stay hurt because he literally cannot bring himself to tell her his feelings, is the exact same mistake Urianger made with Moenbryda. Of course, the circumstances are vastly different, and the potential consequences to Thancred telling Ryne the wrong things or her misinterperating it is far greater (being a matter of literal life or death), it's still the same sort of paralysis they are trapped in.
And he knows it. He sees it. But he can't say or do anything about it, he doesn't have the right to. He acknowledges the mistake, but he hasn't really improved upon it yet. He still doesn't voice his thoughts and feelings as he should. He's also non-confrontational by nature, he doesn't argue or try to change peoples minds, he probably doesn't think he has any place to.
So, he tries to help in what little ways he can. Because he doesn't want it to become Monebryda again, he doesn't want to know he stole not one but two people from Thancred. So he does what he can. He tells Ryne little tidbits about Thancred, things that help her understand him but are safe to share. Nothing too deep, nothing too personal. Just small things, things that are purely factual, because he can't afford to give her a false image of who Thancred is. He teacher her fun and interesting things, because Thancred isn't in the mindset to provide her with non-essential skills.
I like to think Urianger has brought it up with Thancred at least once, during one of his stays. But nothing would've come of it. Not really. Unlike Y'shtola, Urianger isn't pushy, he'll bring it up once or twice and when he sees this won't go anywhere, he gives up. He wants to help, but he knows that persistance only does do much, and he is not the person who has the resiliance needed to push and push until Thancred finally budges (because he won't budge, it won't help anything but to sour things further by adding aditional stress to an already strained dynamic).
And like. Urianger gets it. He gets it because he's been the same way- not saying what he should to someone he loves more than anything else because she was meant to figure her life out herself, and 'steering' her in any direction by telling her his feelings (regardless of if the 'steering' is intention or not) will go against that. He gets it. He gets it and it's all the more painful for it. He knows it can't just be fixed by acknowledging it or with encouragement, something needs to happen to break the stasis.
I think this is probably why he stayed behind while they went off to Nabaath Areng. This is the very last chance they have to say what they want to, and he can't afford to be the anchor anymore. This is about them, not him, he can't let their resolution be buffed by his presence, so he stays behind. Which was probably for the best. Ryne got nervous when Urianger said he's staying behind, probably not too excited about being alone with Thancred (well, not alone, but WoL doesn't count) so soon after she had ran away crying. But she needs to be nervous. For anything positive to come out of this Thancred and Ryne both can't afford to be too relaxed. As sad as it is, the stress is necessary for anything to happen. He knows it. Does he like it? Absolutely not, but nor does he like his other plots. At least no one dies this time if it goes right.

Dog doors can be a problem. Your dog can get out, but other things can get in. The Darmine Doggy Door brings you the newest high-tech doggy door from Darmine Devices! These doors are fully automatic, and activated by a digital chip in your dog's collar. You're not gonna get varmin, you're not gonna get intruders, and you're definitely not gonna get this thing! ([inhuman squealing]) 'Cuz I saw that thing. That thing came in here when I was on the couch. ([muted inhuman snorting, squealing]) ([creature shrieks]) (It's a piiiiiiig!!) WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?! WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUCK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! My next-door neighbour put a Richard Nixon mask on a pig and had it go through my doggy door 'cuz we've been arguing over a PROPERTY LINE. (Get it off of my bushes!!) He was tryna call me a liar and a thief like Nixon, and a pig! (You're a pig!) But I didn't know what the FUCK was happening 'cuz I've barely been sleeping since my wife got flipped upside down by a swing dancer at a wedding. HE MUST'VE FLIPPED MY WIFE EIGHT TIIIIIMES!!!! And it really bothered me. When you can't sleep and you see that thing, you're not just like right away, "That's a pig with a mask". You're like, "THAT'S gonna kill me, THAT'S real, that LIVES WITH US ON EARTH!!". I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA GET EATEN!!! I'm not a stupid fucking idiot I know it was just a pig but for 50 seconds it felt really real. And when you think you're gonna get eaten and your first thought is, "Great! I don't have to go to work tomorrow." YOU'RE RELIEVED YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO WORK BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA GET EATEN????? What the fuck is this world....... What have they done to us.... WHAT DID THEY DO TO US!?!?!?!?!?!!?! ([squealing]) ([objects clattering]) That was the most consequential day of my life because now I know I don't like my work. THE DARMINE DOGGY DOOR! HAPPY PET, PEACE OF MIND! Anything could happen in this world, we really know VERY LITTLE! My life is nothing I thought it should be and everything I was worried it would become because for 50 seconds I thought there was monsters on the world.

in northern ireland during the troubles (and before) catholics used murals as a way of both claiming territory/identity and taking up space in public when they couldn't march. it was a way of forcing their voices to be seen and heard when the media and the government were against them. it was a way of protesting. i will elaborate later but do you get me. marching, posting - all good but not the only way to resist. there is so much in our arsenal and we aren't exploiting it. you don't need 100k followers or ten thousand people marching with you to make your voice heard - you can start now, alone. make it impossible for palestine to slip from public consciousness, make everyone know and everyone remember
