Ok life cycle of a jelly mer is a GO. I’ll stick it under the cut in case anyone doesn’t want to see the lil development/newborn stuff

BUT before that since I know at least a few people are going to ask; yes, you can hold tiny baby medusa Neil, it can’t even sting you yet. Just a lil tingle

(Shout out to @the-tortoise-lady for the idea of baby Neil with no common sense or self awareness being very certain it both can and will eat that thing it found wading in the water near the beach (fisherman Andrew))

So normal jellyfish polyps grow into what looks like little stacked saucers or plates and when one breaks off it grows into the actual medusa we all know. So like. I’m just imagining the upper body/human part of the mer grows inside more like two cups stacked together, and there’s only one per polyp (i don’t even know if regular polyps have multiple discs break off tbh).

But according to some v quick research and not being able to find specifically Sea Nettle reproductive cycle, I am declaring their polyps the average size of Small (about an inch/3cm or something close) and their baby medusae have A LOT of growing to do :D

#elena of avalor #beauty and the beast #batbedit #disneyedit #eoa edit #belle x beast #estebalena #kinda but also not kinda #I think a lot about the fact that it's been confirmed that this is an intentional homage #like EoA series supervising director Elliot M. Bour was just like casually bringing BATB into things as an Easter egg #since it was his first job in animation #and like don't get me wrong; I LOVE that he did this. I just don't know how he expected anyone (i.e. me) to be normal about it afterwards #once you've introduced BATB; it ceases to be a fun and casual reference and just makes the literature major girlies go feral #i thought this was gonna be a quick and easy little project but it wasn't #the parallels are all there but they're in slightly different order in EoA than the original and the pacing for each reference is differen #so i had to determine which ones I needed to skip frames for and which ones to use all the frames #and then try to figure out the speed from there #the coronation day scenes were very hard to color because the grey skies and muted filter kind of whitewash the characters #like you don't even understand i added so MUCH vibrance and saturation to the 4th and 5th gifs but elena's skin still is just gray #and the coloring is still just a very very mixed bag #also i've realized that while I don't think it was an intentional reference in the same way BATB was #anna's sacrifice and resurrection from frozen is perhaps just as --if not more-- a clear parallel to the coronation day scene than BATB #so maybe I will do that one someday too?#once i psych myself up again to try coloring coronation day again #which i imagine will be awhile #these do not look like the same scene and pretty much the same scene at all even if i tried to use the same psd when i could #and edit them to make the coloring as close as i could

I don't think I've had a single night I didn't have a dream about being at the summer camp and generally fucking up some aspect of the organisative machine since I left it

#tonight i had a combo of summer camp stress dream + 'i have prepared to play some moderately important part in a play i have lots of opinion #on the character and the costume ready #(but no lines memorised) yet the dream never fucking gets to me bsing #onstage one unexpecred hassle after the other' stress dream + 'damaging object stress dream + i react to being treated injustly with 0 r #restraint screaming insults and breaking things and then i have to live with the aftermath' stress dream #it was not fun!#i did get to see some of my kids in my dresm at least bc the damaging object drama happened in my absence while i was away with a group that #didn't want to stay in the theatre and needed supervising and then there was a scene where i went to say goodnight so ❤️❤️#the damaging object was like. some kid broke a property of the cameraman (stupidly expensivs book) while i was out snd it was decided i was #the one who should have been supervising him so i have to pay. hence the breakdown #op #whining tw #usually the dream is more like 'after the end of the first camp you now need to readapt to another ' so i dont often see the kids

I beat myself up a lot because sometimes, I find myself forgetting to brush my dog, when I realise this, I get this horrible guilty feeling. It feels like I'm an irredeemable person. So I don't understand how ppl can lack the empathy to believe its okay to leave their pets outside. My upstairs neighbour will literally leave her cats out all night in the rain. They try to come into our house because they don't want to be outside. STOP TREATING UR PETS LIKE WILD ANIMALS
