Ok life cycle of a jelly mer is a GO. I’ll stick it under the cut in case anyone doesn’t want to see the lil development/newborn stuff

BUT before that since I know at least a few people are going to ask; yes, you can hold tiny baby medusa Neil, it can’t even sting you yet. Just a lil tingle

(Shout out to @the-tortoise-lady for the idea of baby Neil with no common sense or self awareness being very certain it both can and will eat that thing it found wading in the water near the beach (fisherman Andrew))

So normal jellyfish polyps grow into what looks like little stacked saucers or plates and when one breaks off it grows into the actual medusa we all know. So like. I’m just imagining the upper body/human part of the mer grows inside more like two cups stacked together, and there’s only one per polyp (i don’t even know if regular polyps have multiple discs break off tbh).

But according to some v quick research and not being able to find specifically Sea Nettle reproductive cycle, I am declaring their polyps the average size of Small (about an inch/3cm or something close) and their baby medusae have A LOT of growing to do :D

The duo even moreso imo #Going back to gloves tho I did carry over one of my quirks from my original UT doodles about Papyrus' gloves lol #I initially envisioned them as combination mitten-gloves with a free index finger and all the rest together #I still rather like the design! But it is admittedly not Handplates accurate lol #The occasional dip into self-indulgence who me? Lol #Sleeping on each other is important to me as well!! It is such a favourite hehe #Honestly I just imagined Papyrus getting so exhausted that he fell asleep in the snow lol poor lad #Sans teleported in but it's also funny to imagine him just walking up like ''you good? yeah he's fine'' *flop* haha #Silly lads <3 Do love 'em ♪

just remembered a wip i had which was jay at uni meeting normal people and desperately trying to act cool and normal whilst internally screaming about being in a whole new place with all new people and not having his gang with him

#i only wrote one scene where jay meets one of his flatmates #and he’s trying to make casual normal conversation & asks her who her parents are #bc that has always mattered! on the isle or at auradon prep your parentage was also a Conversation Starter #and the girl is just like ……what. why do you want to know that #but she tells him and jay makes it into a joke like hehe oh yes i met them at a soirée once. amazing company #and the girl is like ok who are YOUR parents. knowing full well who he is #and jay says that his dad fosters puppies. and the girl says that sounds like a good life and he’s like ohhh just the BEST #i really. love exploring jay at uni i’ve written a couple of things i’ve never finished #like!!! for the first time for years he’s well and truly all alone!!!!#and at least the isle & ap had similarities. uni is just full of very normal people who don’t particularly give a shit #and jay who is like THE guy who cares about everything so much all the time and how people are reacting to him and he’s desperately trying+#to be so cool and unbothered whilst trying not to revert to his isle tactics regarding people who may be threats #just. being somewhere so so new. with no one he knows. everyone else is so far away. and jay is missing his gang like he’d miss+#his body parts. and it’s like. jays always buried his own emotions & hurt so he can better protect his gang #and now he has no gang to protect #and he is just laid absolutely bare. and also constantly stressing about not being there for the others #i just think he’d have an absolutely awful start to uni <3 #descendants #jay son of jafar

33. Wedding + Kazui

Hiii you're back!! :D Thank you so much, this had so many interesting possibilities ough... I ended up going with a convo with Mahiru (I hope you don't mind a second Mappi drabble lmao) as he reminisces about his past. Go vote your sad wet cat innocent today 👍

A hand darted out to grab Kazui’s wrist. Mahiru’s voice was weak.

“Can you stay? Shidou is going to be a minute. I don't want to be alone.”

Kazui was supposed to come in, drop something off, and return back to his cell quickly. He didn’t know how to comfort someone like Mahiru in general, nor did he know what to say after all that had happened. He hated the idea of seeing her like this when he was the one who hadn’t reached her in time. He really didn’t want to stay.

“I’d love to.”

He sat beside her, trying to make himself comfortable on the cool cell floor.

She retracted her hand. “Thank you.”

Before Kazui could even wonder what a young woman like her would want to talk about, she whispered, “can I ask you something? You don’t have to answer if it makes you upset.”

He was already regretting his decision. “Go ahead.”

“Could you tell me about your wedding?” Kazui felt his chest tighten. “I always dreamed of mine. You know, I had the whole thing planned already. He never even knew…” She laughed, but quickly winced in pain. “Things may have… changed between you two.”

Kazui had been careful to hold details of his life closer than some of the other prisoners. None of them had a very good idea of what had brought him here -- he felt bad that Mahiru may have been under the wrong impression of his marriage.

It wouldn’t have been the first time.

She asked, “but the wedding day itself… is it just as magical as everyone says?”

Despite the dim lighting, surrounded by a mess of bandages, Mahiru’s eyes glimmered.

“Yes,” he lied.

“I knew it…”

He couldn’t fabricate exactly what she was looking for. So he told her what he’d told himself many times before. It was the truth. Technically speaking, that is.

“That morning,” he began, “you wake with your stomach in knots. You feel the anticipation in your whole body.” He kept up a smile, and she seemed to buy it. “I’m a pretty organized guy, so I thought I’d be thinking about all our plans -- the schedule, guests, food, things like that. But I wasn’t worried about any of it. The only thing in my mind, all day, was her. And the many, many years ahead of us. The time stretches on for miles in front of you.”

Mahiru let out a content sigh.

“And everyone's so happy. I’ve never had that many people excited for me and my life. It’s everywhere you look. You breathe in and you can practically taste their joy.”

“Oh, that must be wonderful.”

“Y-yeah. It sure is something. And of course, when you see the other all done up for the first time, walking towards you with a huge smile, tears in their eyes… I’ve never felt anything like it.”

“What about the vows? And the rings? Is it really so special?”

“Of course. When you put on those rings, you feel inseparable.” Kazui folded his hands together. Hopefully Mahiru couldn’t see he’d taken his off. “You feel connected to them. You know you’re going to be with this person forever.”

She let out another dreamy sound, though he was beginning to falter. He was grateful when Shidou entered, apologizing for the delay.

Kazui stood, offering one last smile. “I hope you can rest.”

“Oh, yes, especially now. Thank you. That was all so perfect.”

He turned to leave, his own words still echoing in his mind. His hand drifted into his pocket, brushing against the small silver piece.

You’re going to be with this person forever.

On that day, it had seemed like a curse. Then again, on that day, ‘til death do us part’ seemed a lifetime away.

first off youre so right battinson is 100% twunk its literally right there in his entire build and batsuit design (which i ADORE SM) down to the high collar and armored six pack but also the littol ears and thigh holsters dksjahk

my default bruce is like a mix of comics and wfa version of him cause i do very much adore soft tired dad family man bruce but also i love to see him go absolutely insane batman-ing and be the one to say "excuse me, he asked for no pickles" (but like so politely, cause you know that comic where a garbage man asks him "you say thank you to your garbage guy?" and bruce goes "if i see him" and then my heart explodes? anyway-) for clark when they go out to eat-

so i believe that in comparison to like. the general populace he is above average height, like 6' at least. he is a tall man and he bumps his head in the supermarket aisles. BUT i also ABSOLUTELY STAN short king bruce relative to his family and friends- like. he already has to deal with diana and clark having a few inches on him (they WILL float just to annoy him, i know they would-) but then one day he goes home and passes by dick in the hallway and notices that his baby is only maybe an inch or less shorter and he's like. "oh god" but then on patrol he notices he has to look up to see the top of red hood's helmet and he's like. "OH GOD" and i am also a big fucking believer in damian growing to become taller than bruce- baby maybe up to bruce's chin goes to college and when he comes back bruce is eye level w his son's nose and he's just going "N O"

his chief thought is "i cant keep them safe in my cape anymore, i won't be able to hide them from the cameras anymore, if i stand in front of a bullet for them there's a chance it'll get past me oh god" and when he like. mentions this everyone just wants to strangle him cause 'THATS NOT THE POINT"

something i haven't seen a lot of people talk about before is that commenting actually INCREASES my appreciation for a fic. i'm the kind of person who reads constantly and tag browses and is subscribed to a billion authors so i often find myself in a sort of consumption fugue state where i'm theoretically enjoying my time but really am just kind of scrolling transiently through walls of words. but commenting is taking a mental step back from that state to actually consider a fic and give myself space to feel things about it and appreciate what i love about it, picking up on small details i might have otherwise missed, sort of like a gratitude journal or mindfulness practice and we all know what the science says about that 💕

#i'm not interested in those posts that make out commenting to be some kind of moral requirement or necessary writer fuel or whatever because #in the end people should put out what they put out because they want to and work on having a healthy relationship #with whatever naturally comes out of that (this is a reminder to myself as well)#but i'm coming to realize commenting is a genuinely fun and rewarding practice for everyone involved #the reader first and foremost! it's like being back in book club #and bonus you might even get a really nice reply from the author hehe asukiess if you see this your replies made me very happy today 💘💘#i would LOVE to hear your fic ideas or read more of your writing or send more love letters anytime!!!#ah these tags are so long. hit post #🌃

I need Americans that were never Christian™️ to realize that the average conservative cult christian's thoughts are basically that one episode of Spongebob where he gets elected Hall Monitor and gives a speech with "Crime and Punishment. Punishment and Crime"
