“You shouldn’t self-ID as ADHD/autistic, you’re turning a very real mental condition into a trend” Ok then stop saying delulu. Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying “schizoposting” and “acoustic” and “is it restarted?” Stop using “psycopath” and “sociopath” as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying “the intrusive thoughts won” when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying “I’m so OCD” as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying “OP I am living in your walls” without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers you’ve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
You first. If you don’t want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. I’ll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. Which a lot of you are
Everytime I see posts like this I get filled with such profound sadness
Cause you know who has the same brainrot as you? The same unhinged feelings as you after you've read the fic? The person who always wants to scream about the fic with you?
THE PERSON WHO WROTE IT
I never used to leave comments but since I got into the habit of commenting on everything i enjoy it's been incredible. Especially when the author gets back to me about it and we get to have a discussion of what other ideas they had. One writer replied to my comment with a 5 paragraph essay detailing the Floorplan of the building the characters lived in and it was incredible
Anyways this is all to say that if you find a fic that just makes you want to scream from the rooftops, leave a comment saying that to the author and maybe they will join you and you can scream incoherently together
I legit startled a bit when cult au popped up in my bookmarks! It's so good of you to give us a new chapter even if your life is keeping you too busy! Hope you're doing okay :) (also I somehow actually missed you doing my second prompt for whumptober with the spy betrayal fic, so, uh, belated thanks, I enjoyed it very much?)
Yay! I'm glad people are enjoying my new updates without the promise of the next :)
i hate when a villainous character gets popular enough to become a hero and writers try and retcon their histories so they never fucked up in the first place. "harley quinn was actually a good psychiatrist who cared about her patients!" "eddie brock was actually correct in his exposure of a serial killer and it wasn't negligent journalism!" i think it's way more compelling if they did in fact actively choose to do awful things and then actively chose to try and become better people afterwards.
It's very funny to me that the stereotypical gelatinous cube is bright fucking green when the monster itself is almost perfectly transparent. Like its gimmick is that it's a monster that imitates an empty 10x10 hallway. How many people have fallen victim to gelatinous cubes because they "know" that the ooze is bright green and so don't bother to check the suspiciously clean corridor in front of them.
I already asked a while ago when you're coming back to AO3, but do you have any new updates? I miss your fics.
Thanks for saying so! 💗
My timeline is kind of up in the air. I'm considering returning briefly around the end of the month/beginning of March, but I don't know how long that'll go, or when I'll be back after that. I had some unexpected IRL stuff start in January that's taking a lot of attention from writing fic, so I don't know how much I'll actually manage to write in the coming weeks. Thus far it's been more than I anticipated, but who knows how long that'll be the case
If I do update soon (and I think I might, that timeframe is specific bc it'd probably be good for me to have a pick-me-up around then) I don't know what that'll look like. I'm debating doing every day rotation updates vs stretching it out doing every other day, or updating each fic once a week. Watch this space.
i have 4 10-20% done attempts at the same chapter in my docs and the only thing i like about them is the first line so now my doc just looks like i've trapped gerry in a groundhog day loop but he hasn't figured it out yet
