What are your thoughts on an AU where Kudou never came for Yoichi and eventually Yoichi gives into Afo?

Not exactly a villain AU, but Yoichi’s hope in his brother being kind just dies down over the years and his hopeful spirit dies too

Now this one I was holding off on answering until I FINALLY was done with the holidays. Because OH BOY!!! I HAVE IDEAS~! :DDD

Since you aren't looking for a Villain AU but rather Yoichi gives in let us go from there. *cracks knuckles*

Where Hope goes to Die:

In this AU, AFO finds out the rebels are trying to break in where Yoichi is and promptly kills them. So Yoichi never meets the heroes nor did he even know rebels were about to come in. It did, however, make AFO reconsider leaving his brother in some vault where he can't see him. Though also his brother still hasn't submitted either and stopped so he basically decides to just keep a closer eye on him.

Days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into months. Yoichi is going insane inside the vault screaming, crying and cursing his brother. Every time he comes yet also becoming desperate whenever his brother leaves him. Being force fed and 'cared' for against his will whenever he tries to starve or kill himself. Until eventually he just- breaks.

He doesn't respond, he doesn't fight, he can't even bring himself to cry anymore even when his brother manhandles him. Because he realized there were no heroes coming to save him. And that he was completely alone, his brother refuses to let him out as long as he fights so he just... Stops trying.

This is more or less good enough for All for One. It a bit odd but he allows him out on the criteria that if still doesn't want to do 'villainy' with him then he can at least be safe and look pretty more or less. Hence since Yoichi in pretty HORRID conditions by this point from isolation/Vault time he sets him up in a nice mansion/home much better then that vault. All for One has his personal doctor take care of him since does note he isn't looking too well.

Cue learning that Yoichi's life is in terrible condition despite AFO attempt to care for him personally. This is also when they discover he did have a quirk similar to AFO. But it basically useless, weird discovery but whatever. He has the doctor find a way to give Yoichi more quirks safely so can live just as long and 'happily' as he is despite his poor health.

Basically Yoichi is a husk of a person and probably a bit on edge. He lives like a ghost in this mansion with quirks that keep him alive but he doesn't really 'talk' to his brother anymore. And All for One certainly does try but he barely responds, but at least he is at his side so AFO tolerates it.

So how is Yoichi feeling? He basically wants to die, his brother is still doing evil and has forced quirks on him to keep him alive. Attempts to leave are given with threats of returning to the vault or even morbid jokes of a quirk to make sure they are one if wants to fight. He isn't sure if they are jokes or his brother truly means it.

He's basically given up on trying to reform his older brother. His brother has 'tested' this resolve more then a few time. Even bringing victims to his home to 'negotiate' just to see if Yoichi won't try to warn them. Though AFO regrets this when Yoichi upon seeing this basically runs to grab a knife, at first thinking was trying to kill him which he planned to laugh about, only for Yoichi to try and kill himself in front of everyone-

This AU is basically a WHUMP and grimdark fate for Yoichi. As every reminder of his brother evil and his own failure to 'reform' him just cements more his misery. While AFO is confused as hell when thought everything was fine only for Yoichi attempt to end himself. Leading to a strong struggle as AFO wants him to live while Yoichi literally has no hope in the future anymore thus wishes to end it all. There is no happy ending as it a struggle between them.

Extra musing:

Well- It could be worse. AFO can bring in a nephew for his brother to guilt Yoichi in staying as out of spite gives the nephew the happiest life ever. While Yoichi is horrified watching AFO allowing his son to be a hero and everything. While AFO looks at him like, see? I can be nice~

But Yoichi knows... The moment the nephew no longer plays nice he will end up here too. Though maybe seeing Izuku actually loving his dad but also not ok might inspire hope once more. I could leave it on a depressing note, but even if hope dies it can always come back~

Ikemen Genjiden Timeline

Simply putting together the characters' timeline until the prologue. I don't know the accuracy of this but I'll do my best.

1200 Years ago...

Kharin, a female Oni gives birth to a baby boy and exchanges him for a human child. The Oni baby lives on and grows up among the humans. That child's name is Ibuki.

800 Years ago....

Tamamo was born. He grew up in his fox clan and went onto become the Fox King, going around and killing other demons.

300 Years ago...

Akatsuki and Himiko's story takes place here. Kurama was born. In the later years, Tamamo destroyed Kurama's Tengu Clan leaving only Kurama alive. Also the same time when Ibuki adopted Kurama and Tamamo meeting Rikka (I'm not sure) After Kurama left Ibuki, Ibuki keeps going in and out of the human world to cause chaos and meets Seimei for the first time.

200 Years ago....

Seimei dies and Ibuki is alone again. Also probably the time Tamamo got bored of killing and started living in the human world around humans. He asked Rikka to join him, but he declines.

100 Years ago...

Akihito was born and also cursed by his own father, Emperor Toba. While Akihito grew up, Tamamo was Emperor Toba's mistress.

Decades later....

Akihito gets shunned by his parents and lives on his own. His parents and brother dies and the village people tries to kill him because he's cursed. Akihito's curse goes out of control and his body was put to sleep by many Onmyojis. His body was kept securely in Abe mansion's basement. Tamamo leaves Emperor Toba. Yoichi, Morinaga, Sueharu, Yoritomo, Kagetoki, Benkei were born. Taira clan defeats Minamoto clan, Yoritomo was exiled and Yoshitsune was born. Shigehira and Yasuchika are born

Some more years later....

Morinaga meets Sueharu. After sometime together, they broke up. Yoritomo meets Morinaga, Sueharu got involved in cockfighting. Yoritomo also met Hojo Masako during this time and she gets obsessed with him but gets rejected. Yoshitsune meets Kurama and claimed his soul. Yoichi meets Shigehira, and falls in love. Yasuchika meets ghost Akihito and Akihito starts raising him. Later, Ibuki destroys the entirety of Abe clan and forms a pact with Akihito. Akihito goes back to being a human and they all start to live together.

Few more years later....

Sueharu becomes a wealthy businessman. Yoritomo decides to start gathering an army and calls for Yoshitsune Yoshitsune asks Kurama to come with him, but Kurama declines. Yoshitsune meets Benkei and Yoichi on the way and asks them to join him. Yoichi breaks up with Shigehira under the cherry blossom tree. Yoshitsune and gang were found by Sueharu and was brought to Hiraizumi which was under Fujiwara Clan. Yoshitsune was loved by both Fujiwara head and his people but was hated by Fujiwara's son. Yoritomo becomes the Shogun and opens the SHogunate, later Yoshitsune with his small army joins the Shogunate, getting ready for the Genpei war against the Taira clan. Genpei war starts, and Yoshitsune outshines everyone. Yoichi's father and brothers were killed by the Taira Clan for a false charge. Genpei war ends with Taira clan losing. Shigehira was the only survivor of the Taira bloodline. Shigehira joins the Shogunate. Yoshitsune gets killed by Yoritomo. Yoshitsune meets Kurama again and makes a contract with him to give his soul to Kurama after he dies. Yasuchika becomes the head of the Abe Clan and Akihito becomes the Shadow King. Tamamo and Yasuchika meets, become friends but Yasuchika was ordered by his superiors to seal Tamamo in a stone called Sessho seki.

3 years before the Prologue...

Yoshitune starts ruling Hiraizumi with the financial help from Sueharu. Sueharu meets Morinaga again briefly. Yoritomo and his Shogunate becomes successful.

Few hours before the start of Prologue

Yoritomo gets the news that Yoshitsune is alive and gained demonic powers. Yoritomo consults Yasuchika and Yasuchika reveals about the Sessho seki. Yoshitsune hunts down the Sessho seki before Yoritomo and destroys it. But Tamamo survives. Yoritomo gets this news and goes after to get Tamamo before Yoshitsune can kill him. And finally....Yoshino enters the picture.

Downward Spiral

“No, I am not your father, and I will never be.”

Crying is a typical response Yoichi had growing up with scientists prodding him, the cruel guards who watched over him, and the lonely life with only his brother.

“No, I am not your father, and I will never be.”

He had almost forgotten what it was like to cry, to feel the salty tears stream down his cheeks and his snot running down his nose. Living in this mansion had made him the happiest for the longest time.

“No, I am not your father, and I will never be.”

Running out of the room was difficult; he ran as fast as he could away from Charles, but the floor felt like he was on a rocking boat, and his tears burned his eyes. No matter how much he pulled, even opening doors won’t open.

“Yoichi, you need to calm down,” A hand touched his shoulder. Yoichi screamed at the contact and dropped onto the floor.

“No, no, no, no…” Yoichi shook his head and rocked back and forth…

None of them were his family. Ororo isn’t his older sister, Logan is not his uncle, and Charles isn’t his father.

Does he still have Hisashi?

“Yoichi, I can’t play right now. I need to train,” Hisashi breaks Yoichi's attempts to pull him back to their shared room.

Yoichi. His brother called him by his name.

“Can you stop speaking Japanese? You need to speak in English now,” Hisashi didn’t look at how Yoichi eyes watered and dropped on his English work.

The English words float on Yoichi's head. When he read out loud in class, he could hear snickering and giggling behind him when he read slowly, and his accent showed. Covering his ears didn’t stop him from hearing how his classmates mockingly butcher his language. No matter how much he corrected them, they only continued.

He chose to stay quiet, no matter how much teachers lowered his grades in classes or the concerned looks Ororo gave his way.

“You’re not my family,” Yoichi muttered, his head turned away. He doesn’t want to see Ororo's disappointed gaze.

Libraries were a better home than the mansion. The staff doesn’t give him the boot for not buying anything like the mall stores. He could use the computers, listen to music, and read for hours.

Yoichi was sure he had finished all of the manga, graphic novels, and comics section of his library as he devoured any new books they added. Notes of the characters filled his notebooks instead of lessons from school. Instead of notes from his science classes, he drew and explained in detail the origins of Superman.

Skipping meals in the mansion took a toll on Yoichi's stomach, but he rather feel the emptiness inside than be surrounded by his X-Men classmates as they talked about training. How was he a mutant? He couldn’t fly, control the weather, or go through walls. The pitying looks they give him when they mention how exciting the danger room was. Despite years from the labs he was born in, Yoichi's immune system and strength are weak.

A job in the library was everything Yoichi imagined: heaven on Earth. To stay inside the extensive building entire of knowledge and stories.

Money was the most powerful thing he owned besides the fake documents Charles created. To purchase what his heart desired when he walked into a comic book or game store, to one day leave the mansion behind.

To leave this superhero team behind.

Naive Melody; what would've been Yoichis role in the mansion place if he had stayed (or was like forced to).

He would be forced to stay (and likely forced to have an immortality quirk like afo), but i imagine afo giving him free reign to do what he wants within the mansion as long as he doesn’t go outside. Afo knows he would never intentionally harm any of the children so that it’s a risk, nor is him getting into the lab somehow. Yoichi would probably help take care of the kids and try to teach them that things could be better, but those who took their uncle’s message a little too much to heart didn’t last long. Either they were culled for disobedience, or afo used their faith in a better world as a tool to break them, expose them to something terrible without warning to simultaneously shatter their trust in Yoichi and his ideals, while reinforcing loyalty to their father, the one who told the ‘truth.’

ISAGI YOICHI:

i feel like this would be his first big party aw lol, so he’s kind of nervous LMAO.

gets handed a beer by someone, has his first sip of it ever, and immediately spits it out. mutters “how the hell can anyone drink this?” and “discreetly” pours the rest into a bush.

mainly stays with nagi, chigiri, kunigami, and bachira and they just talk throughout the night

(bachira only sits down and talks after his energy dies down. i'll elaborate on this below the cut).

keeps asking nagi “what song is this?” throughout the night LOL. makes a mental note of what songs to add to his playlists.

slightly nods his head to the music, aw cute. goes a little harder and lip syncs/raps along when he really likes the song, though (i stand by my word when i said he loves “neon guts”)

does accidentally bump into someone, but isagi starts a convo with them after he apologizes, and they hit it off right away 🥰

but, the person left early and isagi, ever the dummy, forgets to ask for their number.

and he's actually so disappointed in himself when he realizes, too 😭

BACHIRA MEGURU:

not drunk or anything at all, but boy, the way he’s acting makes it seem like he is.

the self proclaimed “life of the party.”

can be found “dancing,” though i use that word generously because to classify whatever he’s doing as “dancing,” is a stretch, to every song, even if he doesn’t know the words LOL

really likes when throwbacks come on!!!! he does dance to the lyrics and not the beat sometimes, though 😭

but, bachira looks like he’s having so much fun, it’s so cute, he’s definitely been waiting for this moment his whole life 🥰

if you were dancing with him, bachira would 100% take you by the hand and spin you around

also forces gets isagi to dance with him but isagi’s so awkward 😭

bachira also ends up jumping in the pool sometime later that night. yells “cannonball!” and everything, like, okay michael phelps 😭

he doesn’t have extra clothes so reo has to give him some and they're so fucking big on him LOLLL

texts the groupchat “i was sooo crazy last night😂” in the morning LMAOO, okay babe calm down

KUNIGAMI RENSUKE:

takes it upon himself to make sure none of his friends die LOL

only drinks water and diet coke 👍

his mom calls in the middle of the party to ask how he's doing and bachira and nagi are doing stupid shit like yelling “pass the weed” and fake moaning 😭

isagi and chigiri tell him to tell her they say hi LOL

really likes when the dj puts on 90s/2000's r&b/hiphop songs (i'll die by my hc that kunigami's an oldies fan)

mostly sways side to side to the music, but he did also dance a little, per request of bachira, and ended up talking to a cute person a for little, too 🤗

offers to help clean up in the morning

CHIGIRI HYOUMA:

at least two drunk girls have mistaken him for their friend, and another four have asked to touch his hair.

tried to use one of reo’s many bathrooms, found a couple making out, outwardly said “gross,” and then left to find another one 😭

nods his head and taps his foot to the music, not much of a dancer.

also a people-watcher, and he points out things he sees are happening to his friends.

“guys, i think misa and her boyfriend are breaking up, look.” leave that poor girl alone bro 😭

finds himself laughing a lot that night because damn! his friends are funny, whether they try to be or not.

not really a party person, but chigiri actually had a lot of fun 🥰

NARUHAYA ASAHI:

also on the dancefloor! doesn’t really dance, per say, but he jumps up and down and does the fist pump thing 😭 he has the spirit, let's give him that.

drank a lot of soda, so he’s filled with energy. also pees in at least three of reo's bathrooms.

talks to his friends, but also makes new ones! also i feel like he takes a lot of pictures LOL. he needs the finsta content 😭

plays truth or dare, or something like that. ends up having to do some stupid shit like smack raichi’s ass and run away, but naruhaya did make out with the girl next to him, so fair trade, he thinks.

also ends up in the pool, but he’s playing chicken with gagamaru and some other people. does not win a single round, but he had fun 😇

leaves with like four plates of food and one of reo’s decorative towels for some reason???

GAGAMARU GIN:

goes through a bunch of reo's shit 😭 he's not taking anything, but he's just curious LOL

strikes up very, random conversations with a bunch of people out of nowhere, good for him!

weirdly good at darts, very good aim.

although one round, naruhaya accidentally distracted gagamaru and one of darts ended up in reo's wall 💔

“it's fine, he has the money to fix it,” naruhaya shrugs as he walks away from reo's now punctured, wall. so true bestie!

gagamaru somehow ends up giving some drunk stranger some “life-changing” advice. (whether it's good or not is debatable)

they thank gagamaru for changing their life and he never sees them again

NAGI SEISHIRO:

irritates the fuck out the dj because nagi keeps asking him to play one specific song over and over again.

it was good the first time, don't wear it out for the rest of us bae 😭

doesn't really dance, just nods his head, maybe raps along a little, too

when he talks to the girls that come up to him, nagi says stuff like “yeah, the host and i go way back, we’re best friends.”

“way back,” my ass, but whatever nagi 🤨

knocks out in one of reo’s guest rooms. someone finds him when they’re trying to look for the bathroom and they draw a mustache and a bunch of other stupid shit on him 😭

tries to leave before reo makes him help clean up in the morning. does not work 👍

dumbass also ended up losing his phone (reo bought him a new one so nagi doesn't really care)

RAICHI JINGO:

gasses himself up sooo much when he’s trying to hit on girls.

“yeah, i'm about to go D1 after high school, just wait on it,” yeah, okay raichi 🙄

also tries to show them his highlights, bye. babe, i mean this in the nicest possible way but, i do not care, can we just kiss 🙏

i feel like he’s one of those boys who likes to take his shirt off for no reason, so raichi most definitely ends up shirtless at some point of the night 😭

takes pictures with reo’s fancy cars in his garage to flex 💀 gets annoyed when reo says raichi can’t drive them. raichi doesn't even have his license 😑

plays pool and is actually not that bad. does almost accidentally blind isagi with his cue, though.

IMAMURA YUUDAI:

he's with some girls but, he’s a dummy and he didn’t know his other hoes would be there, so imamura had quite a few drinks spilled on him here and there.

still somehow leaves with like three new girls snaps, four numbers, and a bunch of lipstick stains. not even gonna lie, i respect his game.

actually a really good dancer, and he knows he looks good, too. knows the words to every drake song that comes on, argue with your mom.

lip-syncs the words to you when you dance together and it makes you more flustered than you would think 🙄

the type to pull you close and wraps his arms around your waist or around your neck

actually really fun to talk to. always in the loop with drama and stuff, so he's always got some interesting conversation topics. and he's funny 😭

MIKAGE REO:

obviously, the party’s at his house. what’s the point of having a rich teammate if you can’t exploit them for their possessions?

jokes, but reo did offer to throw it at his mansion house in the first place.

actually really likes throwing parties lmao, so he jumped at the opportunity.

posted on his snap, “party at my place su for address‼️” LOL

natural charm + raised with good manners = reo being an amazing host

but, reo does have a little group of girls following him around the entire night 👎

and it irritates the hell out of whoever reo’s trying to talk to because they’re all up on him, making it hard for reo to pay attention 😑

also doesn’t help that he entertains them and flirts back and dances with a couple of them, too

and looks good when he dances, too UGH!!!! he's the type to run his hands up and down your body while he dances with you 😣

ITOSHI RIN:

practicing. he didn’t come. sike! rin has a social life, too, come on now, y'all 🙄

talked a big game about how he wouldn’t show up then he still came anyways, like rin, what 😭??

super good at cup pong and he knows it. he keeps beating ryusei and if you look closely, rin has something reminiscent of a smirk on his face.

a foot-tapper, not a dancer, which sucks because he’s not even bad at dancing, either 👎

a couple of girls come up to rin to flirt, but rin doesn’t give them the time of day. no response or anything just a little side eye 😭

rin just talks to his friends and that’s it, really.

actually internally glad for the chance to kickback and relax for once, tbh.

but, he refuses to admit he had any semblance of fun. (he did, rin’s just a weenie 😒)

NIKO IKKI:

the team forced him to come 😭

niko’s already a homebody and he doesn’t like loud noises or large social scenes, so he wasn’t too jazzed about going somewhere where the both of those things combine.

also he's picky with music so LOL. does like that one remix to the pursuit of happiness, though

he’s a wall-stander, i hate to break it to y’all. just watched everything from a distance and didn't talk to anyone except for isagi and his friends.

keeps opening and closing his phone so he looks busy but that mf is literally just going through the settings app 😭

BnHA Chapter 311: Hand Gun

Previously on BnHA: Horikoshi was all “thinkin’ about dropping in some woke analogies of the very real and very presently relevant issue of racial profiling idk what do you guys think” and then shrugged and did it without waiting for an answer, and ngl it was a bit sudden, but I’m here for it. All Might was all “DEKU YOU NEED TO EAT” and Deku was all “OKAY” and took his hero bento and went to go stand dramatically on a tower in the rain whilst having some highly anticipated Vestige flashbacks. OFA II was all, “sup, I guess I’m not Kacchan... OR AM I,” and ngl I think he is?? Alternate universes anybody?? Hello??? But anyway, so OFA the First a.k.a. Yoichi was all “remember that time you guys rescued me from my evil brother and Two took my hand and we Had A Moment?”, and Two and Three were all “ahh yeah good times”, and it was very nice and very, very gay. The chapter ended with it being very unclear if Two and Three have actually lent their power to Deku yet or not lmao. Y’all need to get your shit together dudes.

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “what if I gave a random bad guy a fucking tommy gun that shoots nails” and jesus christ calm down son. The Hawksquad, a.k.a. SQUAWK as per @hotchocolatier, are all “time to drive aimlessly around town acting like Deku has a restraining order on us because that’s literally the best plan to combat the League we could come up with,” and I have no further comment. Hawks is all “idk about you guys but I want to know more about AFO and Tomura’s whole deal” and I can’t remember the last time I identified so strongly with one of these characters. All Might is all, “[EXPLODES???]”, and the chapter ends with that mysterious hot girl from the Tartarus breakout being all “HELLO I CAN TURN INTO A GUN AND I LITERALLY DON’T GIVE A FUCK” and (1) WOW, and (2) IT’S TRUE, SHE CAN, AND SHE REALLY DOESN’T. GODDAMN.

(ETA: so this wholly escaped my notice on the first go, and also has nothing to do with the chapter itself, but I only just realized that this chapter was scanlated by a new group, TCB Scans. they actually did a very good job, and I’m curious if they’ve found a new RAW provider, because the quality this week is actually crazy good in comparison to what we’ve been dealing with for the past few months. I’m gonna have to get caught up on what exactly happened here lol.)

so what will it be this week? more Vestige antics? more of Sad Nomad Deku standing on buildings and pretending like he’s some cool aloof antihero, as if he could fool us when we all know his hero backpack is secretly stuffed full with his nerd diaries and the remnants of all the hero bentos that All Might keeps giving him?? or, just putting it out there, just a crazy thought, but you don’t suppose we might actually cut back to U.A.? mmm. side-eyes emoji

U.A. is almost certainly going to come under siege at some point anyway, so they might as well prepare for it

It really is diminishing returns, first AM in his car, then L.N. (I know we've seen Toga survive internal explosions but she had least got a blood tranfusion) but also the whole "Deku predicted it so stayed back" and so the end to this chapter being yet another explosion which we know Deku will survive (and with all his other quirks so easily save everyone else alone with him - danger sense should have been ringing constantly) so yeah all feels hollow and time wasting.

Yeah. I mean we all know Deku can't die - so for him the jeopardy has to lie elsewhere. An explosion could still knock him out and he could end up being portalled by Kurogiri to be locked up somewhere, until ShigarAFO is complete and can take OFA. I'm guessing the idea would be to try weaken Deku's spirit in the meantime - to make taking of OFA easier, by hurting his allies. Or AFO could even try to break into UA, take hostages (Inko is there) and try to force Deku to give it up "willingly" that way.

I wouldn't be surprised then to see this scene play out with Deku being in Yoichi's spot eventually... (and Bakugou + others coming for him)

Of course, it is quite possible that the explosion instead is used to have Deku save everyone again and show off the 2nd's quirk. But in that case, the Villain Hunt will have to continue - so it would feel kind of weird to have them all march to the mansion only to be exploded, for everyone being saved and then being back to square 1.

Another possibility is that AFO kidnaps the pros instead - leaving Deku totally alone with no allies left and no clue to go on.

We'll just have to see how it plays out.

Owari no seraph 101 thoughts

I gotta say, this has got to be best chapters we’ve gotten in a month and not to mention, we’re gonna have another one released at the very end of April too? Ons nation we are winning so bad.

Several things caught me off guard this chapter and this will sorta just be pointing things out? The chapter is called “My desire” and I’ve noticed, we’ve been getting a lot of desire-related chapter names lately, it could very well be that desire has always been an a important theme in ons, as well protecting family and revenge.

The first thing that caught me off-guard here is how Asuramaru reacted all chapter. I know he’s a demon now and his usual peace-maker side vanished into thin air. However, like I said a few posts down, is it really how Asuramaru WANTS to act or is it Sika Madu controlling him entirely?

Second of all, they really just said Mika’s greatest desire is to be blamed—to be the scapegoat he desperately wants to be. It’s Asuramaru who prompted him to aim the knife towards his family, Mika realized that Asuramaru couldn’t be killed so he let his guard down and that’s when Asura’s words got to him about his family. Truly, demonic behaviour.

I do got to point out though that I’ve noticed several times in the last few chapters that the author adds comedy-relief after and before heavy scenes. Such examples are; The Shinoa squad exploring the mansion after the whole talk-down about saving Ferid and Krul. Shinoa, Yoichi and Mitsuba getting drunk after Mika just died and Yuu being unstable.

The thing that I like however about this is that the author is not only checking up on us, readers, to make sure we had a break after just witnessing intense mass child murder. But, how the angst handled after the Guren and Mahiru scene. (I’ll admit; I found the scene pretty funny especially because of the way everyone reacted to them.)

The dialogue when returning to Demon!Mika’s dreamworld was impactful as hell, I’ll tell you that. It’s incredibly difficult to read through that a child has been doing nothing but loathing himself and denying that anyone else should take the blame aside from him.

Mika, as a young child, doesn’t deserve all of what’s happening to him at the moment. He tries his best to keep his family safe but after committing a single mistake that wasn’t exactly grave at his age, his life went spiralling down, his guilt coming to bite him no matter where he is.

It even got to the point where the soul Mika, who was living in a perfect world with his family, was forced to remember such a traumatic experience.

The next thing I want to point out is the fact that we’ve got Demon!Mika crying this chapter, all he wanted was to create a safe space for soul!Mika and soul!Yuu but even then; he had failed them. Seeing them happy, is a precious moment for him, a precious but his biggest desire.

Not to mention, Demon!Mika’s emotions are stronger than the others, as shown as he is technically still a newborn as his emotions hasn’t numbed down unlike the others.

The last thing I want to point out was Yuu and Ashera’s dialogue at the very end of the chapter. I think the main question we’ve all had since the last couple of chapters is; “Is Yuu really genuine?” He has been coming off as a threat for the last few chapters but will he actually go through and do the things he say?

A part of me thinks that he is trying to use strong words to scare away the ones who wronged him, hurt his family or upset him. I know that deep down, he doesn’t really want to hurt Asuramaru. The lines; “You’ll be kicked out of my family” and “I’ll be super ticked.” supports my point.

Yuu tries to come off as threatening but just falls short. Not only that, but even after Mika died and he saw the Shinoa squad again; he was smiling, he was positive. I understand that he uses smiling and positivity as a coping mechanism as he’s been hurting the entire time.

But I think half of the fandom agrees that Yuu’s character developing has been in a bad spot lately. It goes all over the place as of late and his true feelings(except sadness of course) are hard to read, so really, just how bad is Yuu feeling right now? His character’s writing hasn’t been consistent as he had acted irrationally around chapters 94-96.

So I think that the bad writing for his character at the moment will truly be fixed when the whole encounter with Demon!Mika happens, he can express his emotions freely without holding back one bit.

We can still hope though that everything will be fixed when he finally gets a chat down with Demon!Mika and resolve things. I say this for other characters as well, have more spotlight, reveal more intentions and develop as a whole.

I’m excited to see what’s next in chapter102 later this month and writing this thread was fun, I hope you enjoyed!

(My entry for OnS gift exchange 2019 for @honeyupeache with theme of Mikayuu in Royalty AU written in soft and casual style)

The sunrise arise quickly in the kingdom, with birds chirping the moment the morning comes.

The guards of the castle steadily moves in formation, welcoming the young prince, the blonde with eyes as blue as the sky, by the name Mikaela. However, beyond his stoic expression and formal attire, he’s not here for any sort of noble business. He’s just here to enjoy his day with those that he loved.

On the other side of the region, beyond the lush green forest, there’s a mansion for another royalty in different blood. Sunlight shines through the windows, and the view of the lake can be seen clearly from the dinner table, where its inhabitant enjoy their breakfast. Tea and cakes prepared by the servants, and there’s several young souls sitting on their own seat, each are teenage, and each comes from different families, but united under one man: Guren, the one that raised them into royalty.

“That jerk sure took his time.” The ravenette in emerald eyes hissed.

“Now, now… Yuu…. Language….” The brunette said softly, being the most polite as usual.

“Drop the formalities, Yoichi. We’re not in public.” Yuu replied back.

“Yoichi got his point though. If Guren find this out, you’re in trouble.” Said a blonde in a twintail.

“Hah! What he’s going to do then? Kicks me in the ass? That’s what he’s doing everyday already!” Yuu laughed out, and some couldn’t help but to giggles too.

“Give me a break, kid… You’re going to drag us all into trouble.” Said a glasses man with hair color reminiscent of cherry blossom.

“Hmm~ So, Kimizuki wanna show us how to act like an adult?” A certain small but sassy girl in violet hair smirked.

“Hey, Shinoa! Not you too!” The blonde lightly smacks the table.

“Ahhh Mitsuba is mad again~ No cake for you then~” Shinoa teased, lifting her little plate of shortcake.

“Like you could cook to speak!?” Mitsuba screeched.

“Both of you can’t cook…” Kimizuki sighed, prompt the group to laughed.

Suddenly, Yuu felt someone poking on his cheek, and as he turned to the side, he sees the familiar ruby red eyes and pale lavender hair. Everyone turns to the mysterious androgynous figure that seems to appear out of nowhere. It seems that everyone get used to this entity by now.

“Asura, what is it?” Yuu asked, still munching his food.

“He’s coming over. The blonde is on the gate.” The smaller one whispers to the ravenette.

“Really!? Alright I’m going!!” Yuu gets up from his seat at once, abandon his breakfast and leaves everyone speechless.

Meanwhile, waiting on the front of the mansion, Mikaela awaits. Soon the door opens and then he seen the ravenette with the biggest grin ever.

“Mika!” Said Yuu out loud as he leaps in and hugs the blond out of nowhere. It’s not a surprise, that’s just how affectionate he is.

“Hey, Yuu. How it’s going?” Mika asked gently, being the more mature of the two.

“Doing good as usual! Everyone’s been waiting inside! No Guren though, who knows what he’s doing?” Yuu said as he pulls out.

“As long as there’s you, then it’s all okay for me.” Mika smiled as he walks by the side of the ravenette. He’s feeling content as long as he’s present. As a royalty, his parents could have given him anything in the world, but none of them matter as what he wanted is love, a recognition, of someone that truly cared.

The breakfast quickly resumed with Mika joining the feast, as he sat between Yuu and Shinoa, those that get along with him the best. In front of him, there’s Yoichi, the nicest person on the entire community, and the most humble for a noble, that even Mikaela felt protective on him. On the other side, Mitsuba and Kimizuki those that tend to get into his nerve due to their upbringing, but at least, he wouldn’t get pissed if there’s no Guren around.

And so, the peaceful morning continue until the afternoon. They spend their time on the garden outside of the mansion, under the shade of the tree. Mika enjoys the view of flower field, and unlike his blue eyes, his image befits of the red rose. His companion isn’t as classy as he is, but he always consider Yuu to be represented the best by the sunflower, just like his everlasting smile, that reminds him with the sunny days of summer.

While everyone enjoys the beautiful scenery, there’s another guest coming to the mansion. A petite lady with pink hair, a noble in Gothic Lolita fashion and brings an umbrella. Mikaela immediately spotted the person and gets up at once, approaching her in a formal gesture.

“Lady Krul! Is there’s an emergency that you need to come here by yourself?” The blonde stood by she who’s too small for his height.

“Nothing in particular. Is it wrong if I want to see having fun with your precious little Yuu?” She teased, knowing that Mika only visit the mansion for one reason.

“Well uhmm… Of course no. Be my guest, m'lady.” Mikaela said awkwardly.

“No need for formalities. Enjoy your time with Yuu, I’m going to see Ashera.” She walks ahead through the garden, into the mansion.

Mikaela exhaled. She might appear younger, but she’s in thousands of years old. Even if they’re both royalty, Krul and her kind are descendant of immortal blood, the highest hierarchy in the monarchy ever since the monarchy kingdom exist. What would the people think if they seen her in broad daylight alone? Then again, she and her sibling possess the ability to appear and reappear as they please. For some reason, she and her brother, Ashera, or Asura, really liked this mansion.

“Also Mikaela.” The little lady suddenly appeared behind the blonde.

“Whoa!” Mika is so startled he almost drew his sword.

“Guren’s coming. I can see Ferid and Kureto from the distance too. Also, they brought soldiers.” She whispered.

“Ughh…. Not them again….” Mikaela brushed his face. They’re the head of the clans, and they all possessed the worst of personalities. Guren can be reasoned, but Ferid and Kureto are genuinely dangerous. One of them is obsessed with world domination, and the other is a bloodthirsty psychopath.

“Well, get going! Pick Yuu and run away!” She pushes the blonde before she appears in puff of smoke.

Mikaela got no time to waste as he rush to the tree where Yuu meant to be sleeping, trying to wake the deep sleeper. Without a choice, he carry him up, bridal style, and makes his way to escape the mansion. Not until they entered the woods that Yuu woke up, and he’s as confused as it can get.

“What the heck you’re doing, Mika!?” He shouted.

“Guren’s coming.”

“So what!?”

“….With Ferid and Kureto.”

“Okay that’s a good point, but Mika, it’s wrong to abandon our family!”

“Don’t worry, they’re coming too.”

Before Yuu could asked again, the view of the wood cleared and they goes downhill. The great lake presented and they’re heading there quickly.

“Come on, run faster or we’re leaving you two behind!” Shinoa shouted playfully. On the side there’s Yoichi, Mitsuba and even Kimizuki.

“We’re seriously leaving?” Said Yuu as he aboard the ship.

“Remember what Guren said? Get the hell away if he ever return home with Ferid or Kureto. If there’s both, run faster.” Shinoa said in lighthearted tone.

“Great… This going to be a war zone….” Yuu groaned.

“And that’s why we’re leaving, Yuu. The safety of the family goes first!” Shinoa said again.

“And where we’re going?” Yuu is still worried, until Mika taps his back.

“Somewhere safe, just for us.”

Halloween Headcanons

I didn’t get any Halloween requests so instead here are some Halloween themed headcanons you never knew you needed:

FREE

- Haru, Rei, Nagisa and Makoto go back to that creepy lighthouse, but this time they actually bring food and sleeping bags

- They spend the night watching scary movies and telling ghost stories

- There’s a huge storm again, just like last time

OWARI NO SERAPH

- Shinoa squad telling ghost stories and holding torches under their faces

- Shinoa being a little shit and playing a lot of pranks on everyone*

- Yoichi probably faints from one or more of these pranks

- Ferid Bathory dressing up for Halloween. As Count Dracula.

*I have nothing against Shinoa, or her spoopy pranks.

BUNGOU STRAY DOGS

- Dazai runs into Ango and they go on a ghost tour to kill time

- Naturally Ranpo and Kyouka go trick or treating together

- Yosano tells Atsushi an urban legend and then he’s too scared to go into elevators without first ‘dancing to appease the spirits’

- The Port Mafia encounters a terrifying rival gang all dressed as clowns

NORAGAMI

- Yato loves the idea of Halloween because it’s the only day of the year you can ask for something and actually get it for free

- He throws a sheet over Yukine and pretends he’s taking his son trick-or-treating

- As you can imagine, Yukine is not pleased (and Daikoku is later going to murder Yato for stealing and cutting eyeholes into that sheet)

- Bishamon converts her entire house into a haunted mansion just for this one night of the year. It returns to normal the next day. Even with the help of her many Shinki, how she got it back to normal in just a few hours is beyond divine knowledge

MYSTIC MESSENGER

- The only spooky thing happening here is Yoosung cramming for his upcoming exams

- Oh, and Seven hacked into the RFA members’ computers and installed a screaming ghost glitch

THE CASE STUDY OF VANITAS

- Noé tries to get Vanitas into the Halloween spirit by taking him to a festival

- Vanitas does not get into the Halloween spirit when Noé vanishes on the spookiest night of the year (don’t worry, he found him eventually)

- Vanitas and Noé and matching pumpkin brooches

- Jeanne and Dominique use the holiday as an excuse for a small tea party but they don’t even dress up or talk about anything to do with October 31st

PANDORA HEARTS

- Trick or treating may not necessarily be a thing here, but you can bet Pandora hosts an extravagant Halloween party

- Gilbert sees way too many black cat decorations for one night

- Break is giving out even more candy than usual

- By the end of the night Oz even finds candy in his shoes and has no idea how or when Break put it there

I Love You, Even If You Forget Me Part 2 Kurama Story Summary

I wanted to translate this event but saw that I won't have time so I'm writing the summary because I love writing summaries and its more quicker.

Story starts with our beloved Yoshino going to the woods to pick up some medicinal herbs. Due to her bad luck, he encounters an almost dying low-level demon. The demon sees her, says something weird, breaks and disappears. At that moment, Yoshino also loses her consiciousness.

Now the story is in Kurama's POV. Kurama heard that Yoshino was found unconscious in the forest and was brought back to the Rebels' mansion. In her room, when she wakes up, Kurama approached her but Yoshino yells at him in fear when she saw his wings. Kurama was confused.

A few moments later, Kurama was looking pissed. Like super pissed. Seeing Yoshino trembling in fear made him even more furious. He grabs her by the neck and tells her to stop faking it. But Yoshino doesn't seem understand what he meant. Kurama started tracing the magic on her and understood what's happening. The reason Yoshino lost her memories was because she encountered a demon that can eat people's memories. But in this case, the demon was dying, so in its dying breath the demon casted a powerful spell on her so it can live. But it died anyways so it didn't matter. If the demon lived then killing it would have maybe led Yoshino to regain her memories. But that's not possible now.

Anyways, he looks...I mean GLARES at Yoshino as if he wants to kill her but he gets up and leaves without saying anything and Yoshino was left alone looking confused.

Later he goes to his room. A few moments later Benkei comes in to check on him. Kurama angrily asked why Benkei came to his room rather than staying with Yoshino. Apparently, after leaving Yoshino's room, Kurama went and told Benkei to check on Yoshino because he thought Yoshino would feel at ease when she's with someone like Benkei because you know, Benkei has kind personality. Benkei tells Kurama that he did have small chat with Yoshino and she told him that she doesn't remember anything about Kurama or their relationship. She also only vaguely remembers about her relationship with the other members of the Rebels. Kurama at this point could not contain his anger any more. Benkei realised what Kurama was feeling. He tells Kurama that what Kurama is feeling is not actual anger, but deep sadness. Sad because Kurama can't do anything about it. Up until now, Kurama thought that Yoshino's inevitable death would be the only thing that would separate them. But now, Kurama is sad because Yoshino doesn't have a part of him inside her heart.

Benkei tries to cheer him up by saying that as a friend he will help Kurama by fighting with him. He tells him that by fighting he can get rid of his bloodlust that's about to burst out. At that very moment, Yoshitsune enters Kurama's room and told him that he just now learned about Yoshino's situation and that he too wants to help Kurama get rid of his bloodlust by fighting because Kurama is his dear friend. Soon after that, both Yoichi and Sueharu also enters and says the same. Yoichi says that he will attack Kurama from the roof with his bow because he values his life and Sueharu says that he wouldn't fight but instead will set up a counter for lemonade. Seeing the Rebel members coming to comfort him, Kurama was feeling warm and fuzzy. Usually, he would tell them to get out and that he didn't need comfort because 'comfort' are for weaklings. But tonight he couldn't tell them to get out because he wanted that comfort desperately. They're so cute, I wish I had friends like that!

Next day, the first thing Kurama does is go to Yoshino's room. Yoshino was still distant from him but she was accepting him a little bit, which made Kurama feel at ease. Kurama was no longer feeling the bloodlust because he was able to get rid of it by fighting with his friends all night, who right now, are sleeping like dead people in their rooms.

Yoshino tries talking to Kurama to find anything about her lost memories. While talking, Kurama felt like something was off. He then realizes that he didn't see Yoshino's smile since last night. He now looks at the confused Yoshino in front of him and orders her to smile. Yoshino complains that she can't laugh just because he ordered her to, so Kurama thought of an idea. He picks her up without her permission and they fly into the sky.

Yoshino was clinging onto Kurama, but Kurama reassured her that he isn't going to drop her. Yoshino, feeling reassured, opens her eyes and sees her surroundings. Her eyes were sparkling in delight and she had a big smile on her face. Seeing that made Kurama irresistibly happy and he smiled too. When Yoshino shyly thanks him, Kurama gets turned on because he finds her cute shy face alluring. Now he wants to bang her.

They both land on a big tree branch and he made Yoshino sit on his lap. He starts to kiss her. Yoshino was, of course, confused and pushed him away. She asks why he was kissing her and Kurama told her that she is his girlfriend and its only natural for them to kiss. Yoshino looked surprised and started blushing. Then Kurama realized that maybe Benkei didn't explain their relationship to her. Kurama tells her that they are actually lovers but Yoshino was finding it hard to accept that she's dating a tyrant like Kurama. Kurama proceeds to kiss her again. During their tongue action, Kurama felt a painful sting, and he pulls away. Yoshino's face was super red and she scolds Kurama to not kiss her out of nowhere. Seeing her like that only made Kurama chuckle and he was relieved to find out that even though she lost her memories, she is still the same Yoshino.

Pouting Yoshino, then asks him to share some of their memories together, or take her to a place that is special only to them. Kurama starts to think back the places they have went together while poking and pinching Yoshino's soft cheeks. Kurama didn't know which place to say. For him, whether its a dark alley where they had sex or a hallway in the mansion where they cuddle every night, every place is special to him. Then a place comes to his mind. Kurama looks at her and tells her that there is a place in the Otherworld.

Kurama and Yoshino both fly around the demon world. Yoshino was anxious and was also feeling nauseous from the air of the Otherworld. Kurama takes her to their special place-----A small hill top under a huge cherry blossom tree. Yoshino was mesmerized by the sight. She looked around happily while catching the petals that was falling from the cherry blossom tree. Seeing her like that only made Kurama fall in love with her even more. For Kurama, Yoshino's memories were like these cherry blossoms, because they fall and never comes back.

Kurama couldn't contain his sadness anymore and pulls her closely. He tells her that, only her death could break them apart. He thought that it was the only big thing he would have to suffer, until then he promised to make her happy every moment. So in her short life, he doesn't want her to forget about him. Hearing that Yoshino's eyes widened and her voice started shaking.

Yoshino looks at him and tells him that even though she feels sad, hearing Kurama say those words made her happy. With a tearful gaze, she says she has come to adore Kurama. They start kissing again and this time Yoshino was more accepting. Kurama wanted to share his warmth that they share every night. While kissing, Yoshino started remembering small fragments of their memories together and in no time she got her memories back.

When she tearfully looked up at Kurama, he realized that she got her memories back and they hug each other tightly. Kurama was so happy that he couldn't help but actually smile. Yoshino cries and thanks Kurama for not letting her go. Kurama tells her not be sorry and instead started kissing her neck and ears and also undoing her kimono. Yoshino was like "Right here!?" but Kurama could see the anticipation in her eyes.

Yoichi and Shigehira Sequel Cute moments - Part 7 (Yoichi's route)

Yoichi (serious face): "So yeah, like I said, I want Yoshino."

Yoritomo (smug face): "Bold of you to make that offer to me."

Yoritomo: "What do you wanna do Yoshino?"

Yoshino: "I'm surprised that he asked out of nowhere, but it's true that I want to live with him."

Yoritomo: "I see. I was, of course going to reject the idea of this guy kidnapping the Shogunate's very own pharmacist...."

Yoritomo: "But I can't pretend to unsee or underestimate Yoshino's hopes."

Yoritomo (smiling): "If you wanna go, then go. But show your face to us, once in a while, got it?"

Yoritomo (smiling): "Without you, the Shogunate's liveliness will go away."

(You're exaggerating...)

Yoshino (smiling): "Thank you!"

Yoshino(smiling): "I love the Shogunate, so even I will be sad to leave."

Yoritomo(smug face): "Did you hear that? Yoichi."

Yoichi: "Yeah yeah..."

And pulls Yoshino close to him.

Yoichi (smiling): "Don't worry, from now on, I'll make sure you are even more happy at the Rebel mansion."

Yoritomo: "Oh?"

Morinaga: "Aww, Yoshino is getting married?"

Kagetoki: "We're late. Maybe we will have at least teach her how to snap necks in case of emergency."

Yoichi: "Don't teach her weird things!"

Tamamo(drama queen): "Buhu. I'm going to be so lonely that I'm sure I'm gonna wet my pillow with tears every night. Don't you think so too? Shigehira?"

Shigehira: "If you wanna see her, you can go there anytime. The three forces are still continuing their treaty anyways."

Yoichi: "Don't worry, if you come to Hiraizumi one day, I'll show you some good restaurants."

Tamamo (drama queen): "Things like that won't heal my heart from having Yoshino stolen from me, but I'll take that offer anyway."

Yoichi: "Yosh! Then I'll ask Kurama----"

Tamamo: "NO! Not him. If it's him, he will take me to an empty bamboo field instead and challenge me. It's annoying!"

Yoshino: "Fufu...."

Shigehira: "Yoichi-san..."

Yoichi: "What?"

Shigehira: "If you don't make her happy, I won't forgive you."

Yoichi (smiling): "Don't worry, I'm going to spoil Yoshino so much that she won't want to go back to Kamakura and will be always happy."

He started stroking my head and my heart tingled at the sweet gaze.

Shigehira (blushing): "...Aren't you embarrassed?"

Yoshino(blushing): "....I just recently found out that Yoichi-san is so unscrupulous."

Yoichi(evil smile): "That's because it's your fault if you ask me..."

Kagetoki: "I could tell that these two love each other so much that they would start making out in public if they get a chance."

Yoichi: "Hehe. I won't say no to that."

Tamamo: "Don't let him get the best of you, Yoshino!"

Morinaga: "If we hear that Yoshino is crying, we will barge into the Rebel mansion."

Yoichi: "Please don't! I'll always make her happy!"

.......

Yoichi: "It's time. I'm here to catch the culprit who stole the pottery I just finished making."

Yoichi(angry): "Say it, who did it? Now!"

Yoshino: "Yo-Yoichi-san, calm down!"

Sueharu: "Is this why you called me here? When you said you have an important meeting?"

Kurama: "Boring~"

Yoichi: "It was a masterpiece I made at the request of Yoshino."

Yoichi: "Now that I finished making it, I was going to serve snacks in it for Yoshino so that I would get to watch her cute happy face. But it's all ruined now!"

Yoichi: "For that, the culprit will be sentenced to cleaning the toilets for three whole months."

Yoshitsune(straight face): "I don't have experience in that, but I think I can do it..."

Benkei: "Yoshitsune-sama is not the culprit. Don't worry, I won't let you do something like that."

(If the subordinates and the maids saw one of these people cleaning the toilets, they would have a panic attack)

Yoichi: "No. 1 suspect, Benkei."

Benkei: "Huh?"

Yoichi: "What do you mean, 'huh'? You often break my pots and plates when you're drunk."

Benkei: "Your plate was stolen this time. If I had broke it, I would have tried fixing it or will come out clean. I wouldn't try to cover it up..."

Yoshino: "That seems something like Benkei would actually do."

Yoichi: "Don't look so proud. Also please don't break my stuff anymore."

Yoichi: "Next, Sueharu!"

Sueharu(smiling): "I'm innocent, your honor."

Yoichi: "Which part of you?"

Yoichi: "What if I told you that you thought my pottery looked good and sold them without my knowledge, then?"

Sueharu: "Of course not. If I had to steal something from you, it would be Yoshino's heart."

Yoshino(surprised): "Huh!?"

Sueharu-san grabs Yoshino's hand.

But Yoichi immediately pulled Yoshino towards him.

Yoichi: "Su-A-Haru. If you don't behave yourself, I'll invite Morinaga to our next party without telling you."

Sueharu: "No, sorry. Anything but that."

(Sueharu-san still doesn't seem to like Morinaga-san)

Yoichi: "Sit here, Yoshino. This is the safest place on earth for you and no one will mess with you here."

Yoshino: *blushing*

We were so close that our shoulders were touching.

Yoichi: "Now you!"

Yoichi: "You don't have a criminal record, but you have a reputation for being unreasonable."

Kurama: "Nonsense. I don't know. I don't care."

Sueharu: "Wow, finished his statement in three words."

Yoichi: "Let's put you on hold for now and...the last one, is Yoshitsune-sama."

The pure amethyst eyes stared back at Yoichi

Yoshitsune and Yoichi: *stare*

Yoshitsune: "It breaks my heart...when you're suspecting me like this, for something I don't even know about."

Yoichi: "No...I..I was...Ermmm..."

Benkei: "Yoichi! You bastard! How dare you...!"

Kurama: "Do you want to be killed inside the toilet?"

Sueharu: "What happened to the cleaning part?"

(No one can beat Yoshitsune-sama!)

Yoshino: "Then who stole it?"

Yasuchika: "Sorry, it was me."

How twisted would you say the imperial court trio is?

How should I answer this? Their relationship is a mess, but it's so beautiful and I love it! The reason I love it is that, before Akihito and Ibuki were introduced, I hated Yasuchika so much. If you have only started playing this game now, then you won't understand what I'm talking about. I'm talking about Yasuchika before the three characters were introduced.

You guys: "But gayuu, what's the difference?"

Me: "There's a big difference!"

I've been playing this game since Benkei's 1st birthday was announced. At that time Yasuchika was the main villain and he was so annoying!! Every time! Every time something nice happens, he just shows up to fuck UP everything! The war is happening between Yori and Yoshi---*BOOM* he shows up with dog demons to mess up everything. In Yoichi's story, he shows up with water demons, and the worst of all in Tamamo's story he turns Tamamo into a beast to use him against Yoshitsune and Yoritomo. Not to forget, even in Yoshitsune's route he wanted to kill Yoshino.

There was no reason given as to why he was doing this and that makes it even more annoying. It always looked like he was fighting for the Imperial court to bring down both the Shogunate and the Rebels. Every time he shows up I roll my eyes and would agree with Tamamo on how insufferable he is.

But that all changed. I don't know if this was intentional or accidental genius, but the thing that redeemed Yasuchika's character, for me, was the introduction of Akihito. If Akihito never existed, I would have still hated Yasuchika even if he had an abusive childhood. (And it's also the reason why I love Akihito so much!).

You guys: "Why Akihito? What's so cool about him?"

Me: "You guys still don't know their story? Okay, let me summarise again!"

Yasuchika was a special child. From a very young age, he has mastered several onmyoji spells and he can do things that most of the well-trained onmyojis cannot. He is also called the reincarnation of the famous and most powerful onmyoji Abe no Seimei. Due to this, Yasuchika has to undergo a 'training session' a.k.a torture under the then Abe family head. This took a toll on Yasuchika's mental health as he soon began to lose a sense of reality. That was when he met a ghost wandering around the Abe mansion at night. The ghost was none other than Akihito. Only Yasuchika was able to see Akihito and Akihito for some reason cannot leave the Abe mansion. This was because, in Akihito's lifetime, when his curse went out of control and started killing innocent people, many onmyojis joined hands to stop him. But just killing Akihito won't end the massacre because Akihito's body is the vessel for the curse and if that vessel is 'broken' then the curse will try and find another vessel. Therefore they had to put Akihito to sleep and his body was sealed in the deepest room of the Abe mansion.

After meeting the young Yasuchika, Akihito found how broken he was. So he decided to stay with him as long as he stayed in the mansion. Basically, he raised him. He taught him about various things like poetry, and different kinds of birds and flowers, which Yasuchika didn't know existed until Akihito taught him. In Yasuchika's painful every day, Akihito provided him the warmth of a loved one. He was someone he can actually enjoy with. This is the same for Akihito. They love each other so much that they're willing to give life for each other, even though they're not blood-related.

But one day, while they were playing with each other, a demon attacked the Abe mansion and brutally killed almost everyone. That demon was Ibuki. Ibuki wanted to see this child prodigy called Yasuchika with his own eyes. Yasuchika confronted Ibuki and tried to fight him. But, you know how strong Ibuki is, he just kept stomping Yasuchika over and over again till he fainted. Akihito comes to the rescue Yasuchika but Uh oh! Ibuki takes care of him too. Akihito, with what remaining power he had breaks the seal of his body and regains it. Ibuki found Akihito interesting so he decided to make a deal with Akihito because he wanted to see beautiful chaos.

After making a deal with Ibuki, Akihito decided to leave Yasuchika forever because he didn't want to involve Yasuchika with his business and wanted him to have a beautiful life. But Yasuchika wanted to be with Akihito, so he begged him to stay and promised that he would be more useful to him than Ibuki ever will. Thus Yasuchika worked hard to become a powerful onmyoji and became the Head of the Abe family at a very young age. Ibuki also stayed with them since then at their house, and even if he denies it, he started enjoying being with both of them. Yasuchika is his favorite child too (just adding that!). Ibuki in this trio brings a balance. He's like a mood-maker in this trio. Whenever Akihito and Yasuchika have an awkward moment, he would be the one to lighten the mood by harassing Yasuchika. Whenever these two idiots try to give up their lives for each other, Ibuki shows up to rescue both of them. It's like he found a family of his own to take care of. And Yasuchika, although he keeps saying that he hates Ibuki so much, he does have a sense of relief when Ibuki is around. He knows that if he isn't available at the moment when Akihito is in danger, Ibuki will surely come and rescue Akihito. So that's why he unconsciously also wants Ibuki to stay.

Honestly, if you remove any one of them from this trio it will be incomplete!

Is Ibuki like the current no. 1 powerful character in ikegen? Since between the three ayakashi he's the oldest? I would consider Tamamo too, but he's currently still recovering his full powers. And Kurama maybe the least? Since he's the youngest of them, and he's style is derived from Ibuki's teaching? Also, I haven't read any chapters of ikegen where Ibuki gets badly hurt.

In the Genjiden world, when a demon makes a deal with a human they share half of their powers with them. That also reduces their power by half. That's why seeing a demon making a deal with humans is very rare and they'll only make deals with the ones they really like. In the case of Ibuki, he made deal with Akihito just so he could see tragedies, unlike Kurama and Tamamo.

Ibuki is damn powerful. He has lived for 1200 years, and by that time I'm sure he has learned new fighting skills and also polished his old ones. With availability lot of vast knowledge and time, it shouldn't be a surprise.

But what makes him more powerful than the other two demons. It's not because he's the oldest. It's because he learned new fighting skills and polished his old ones. Also, his ability is thunder. Thunder is such a cool power, it's super fast and super powerful.

In the current timeline, Ibuki is not at his fullest potential because he shared it with Akihito. Even after that, he's still able to crush Kurama. In Kurama's route, we can clearly see him crushing Kurama without even breaking a sweat. Yeah, you could argue that Kurama was protecting Yoshino while fighting so he couldn't go all out. But still, I think Ibuki would win the fight. Later in the same route, Kurama, Yoshino, and Tamamo fight Ibuki. 3 vs 1 battle and they couldn't crush Ibuki like he did to Kurama. All they did was weaken Ibuki as much as possible and Kurama had to break his deal with Yoshitsune to finish Ibuki completely. Yeah. Kurama needs his 'full power' to defeat a 'half powered' Ibuki and he still doesn't die!

Later in the ending, Kurama also tells him that he will one day surpass Ibuki. So he himself knows. Ibuki harrassed taught Kurama how to fight and Kurama is still polishing his skills by fighting strong opponents day by day and one day promised that he'll kill Ibuki.

Tamamo is said to be as powerful as Kurama. They're on the same level. So he himself would also have no chance of winning a 1 on 1 battle with Ibuki.

Now can Ibuki defeat both the Shogunate and the Rebels? Maybe he could. Ibuki is shown to have a lot of confidence in his powers. In Benkei's birthday story event, he sneaks into the Rebel mansion to disrupt everyone's peace and kidnap Benkei. Yoshitsune, Yoichi, Benkei and Sueharu all fight him. But Ibuki was simply dodging their attacks and single-handedly wiping the floor with them. I'm not kidding, he held his greatsword with one hand and was defending 4 well-trained men and 4 out of the 5 strongest men in the Rebel army (one of them also using his demon powers) as if he is playing with a bunch of kids. Kurama was not there at that time and I don't think he would have been able to do much if he were there too. The icing on the cake is when Ibuki managed to stab Benkei in the stomach and voluntarily withdrew from the fight after seeing that Benkei had no intentions of going with him. But imagine if he didn't? Imagine if he went all out? Not even at his fullest potential. He would have literally annihilated the whole Rebel army.

In Morinaga's route, when Yoritomo states that he's arresting Yasuchika and taking him as a hostage, Ibuki casually asked Yasuchika if he wanted to be saved, which goes to show that he has full confidence that can destroy the Shogunate if he wanted to.

But in all of this....I don't think Ibuki is the most powerful character in the game. The most powerful character in the game without a doubt is......

*Drum rolls*

Yoshino. Yeah! Yoshino! No, I'm not trolling. She's actually the most powerful character. Imagine if she seduces Ibuki. Imagine if the world's most powerful and cruelest demon king is your boyfriend. Who is more powerful!? The demon or the person who seduced the demon king.
