There's something interesting about how sam and dean's hell experiences are portrayed. Dean has just enough agency in hell to become the aggressor, while sam is only the victim and can only be the victim

"sacrifice, that's what we do for the people we love"
being the middle child in the winchester family...
Tumblr media
I’d imagine you being like two years younger than Dean and two years older than Sam. So like literally the middle child
Your memories of your mum are fuzzy but you can recall a few things
When Mary died you were only two so you didn’t really understand what was going on for a while.
When you all first left Lawernce you spent most of that first night in a motel room crying because you wanted your mom and your bed. (Dean had to comfort you cause John left his two toddlers and baby alone in a motel #dadoftheyear)
When you were like ten your dad told you about what he had been doing for the past eight years. You were terrified but he made you promise not to tell Sam. He also made sure you knew that it was your job to keep Sam safe.
Basically, you stopped being a child at ten.
You and your brothers were really close.
You and Dean basically trauma-bonded over hunting and also having wayyyy too much responsibility at a young age.
Out of you and Dean, you were more emotionally available so Sam tended to tell you more.
As he got older he would talk to you about getting out and stuff. While your dad and Dean were very much into hunting you and Sam were more of on the sidelines.
Sam got his love of reading from you. He’d always tell you about the books he was reading and what he was doing in class.
You’re the mediator for the family. It was always you who broke up fights. You were also able to calm your father down.
Mentioning in a passing comment that you didn’t want to hunt when you were like 15 and John flipped.
“If you don’t want to help kill the thing that killed your mom then you can get out.”
So you did. You left at 15 for 6 months.
In reality, you went to stay with Bobby but you never told your dad that.
Dean begged you to stay and would call every day. So would Sam.
Around this time Sam also started to want to leave.
“I wanna come stay with you.” You sighed leaning against the wall. The phone rested between your ear and shoulder. “You can't Sam. Dad would flip your too young.” He let out a frustrated noise but let the topic go. (for now)
Dean would also call often and beg you to come home.
“Look he didn’t mean it, alright. It was just a heat of the moment thing.”
You did eventually come back. (Bobby wasn’t happy but let you go)
Your brothers were overjoyed and you actually got an apology from your dad (shocker.)
Things were ok for a few years and then Sam got a bit older and started talking about school. He’d only talk to you about it though. It wasn’t that Dean hated the idea but he didn't understand.
One day when you were 18 and he was 16 Sam asked to talk in private. So you took him to a dinner near the motel and he told you about Stanford.
“One of my teachers thinks it's possible.” He pushed the pamphlet towards you. “I just need a signature from an adult and I know Dad won't sign it.” You quietly looked over the pamphlet for a moment. A sense of pride washed over you as well as relief. This was his way out. “Of course, I’ll sign it.”
You both kept it quiet for the next year and when his acceptance letter came in you both kept it to yourselves but you were so proud
#proud parent moment.
Though eventually, Dean found the letter.
“Did you know about this?” He asked holding up the letter. You felt your blood run cold as you grabbed the letter from him. “Yes. I did know.” You admitted. “It was me who signed the papers.” Your brother's eyes widened a look of betrayal crossed his face. “Why would you do that?” His voice began to rise as he spoke. “Because Sam deserves a future Dean.”
You two didn’t speak for a while after that. Dean got over it though.
When it came time for Sam to leave that's when all hell broke loose.
You’d never heard your dad yell so loud. He and Sam went back and forth for hours until your younger brother just walked out. You and Dean both followed him. After calming him down you went with him to the bus and said goodbye.
Dean was kinda non-plussed (inside he hated it and was worried sick). You were worried but happy that he was getting out.
When you and Dean went back to the motel John was furious. He blamed you (of course)
“This is your fault. You're the one who put all those ideas in his head and look what happened.”
Dean jumped in front of you and told him to back off.
“Sam’s his own person you can’t blame her for this!”
After this, you and Dean get closer. John starts taking more hunts alone meaning that you and Dean spend a lot of time just driving around.
You would probably class this as the first time in your life you felt truly happy. Hunting with Dean was easier and there were fewer arguments.
Sam would call u often to update you. When he told you that he’d met a girl you were so happy for him. (it really seemed he got out)
But then your dad went missing and Dean insisted on getting Sam to help.
You were glad to have both your brothers back but at the same time felt insanely guilty as you watched Sam fall back into hunting.

Getting ready for their first date, like—
—Keeley bringing Rebecca to find the perfect outfit, not because she needs a new outfit and not because Roy and Jamie won’t love her in whatever, but that’s half the fun, isn’t it? Getting ready, building anticipation, sneaking another drink at Aeronaut while Derek fetches her two more dresses, just for the hell of it.
Rebecca tells her that she looks gorgerous in every bloody thing, but that she looks particularly gorgerous in the second pink one, and oh, they should stop by The Connaught Bar on their way to the spa, celebrate Keeley looking like the marvel she is, and maybe raise a toast to Roy and Jamie being far, far luckier than either of them deserve.
“If you were into women I’d never date anyone else,” Keeley says very seriously over her Fleurissimo. “We’d never even have to go on actual dates, we could just do this forever, it’d be fucking fantastic.” She makes an exaggerated face. “Now I’m stuck dating icky boys.”
And Rebecca laughs and hugs her and knows that she’s not serious, at least not about the last part.
(Rebecca hopes this works out because if it doesn’t and she has to deal with the implosion of a relationship between her head coach and their star player… Well. She’d put the brakes on the whole thing, maybe, if it weren’t for Keeley and the way she lights up when she talks about her icky boys, if it weren’t for the fact that Roy and Jamie are going to be absolutely ridiculous about each other no matter what Rebecca allows or doesn’t allow, if it weren’t for her sordid affair with Sam and how it hasn’t left her with a single leg to stand on.)
---
Getting ready for their first date, like—
—Jamie giving Roy an incredulous and halfway reproachful look as Roy sticks his head out the office to tell him that they’re leaving, so mush. “I’m going back home, mate. Dani’s giving me a ride.”
And Roy’s eyebrows do their Roy’s eyebrow thing. “What the fuck for? Keeley’s picking us up in less than two hours. At my place. You can do your fucking hair bullshit or whatever you need to do there.”
(It’s unclear to Roy exactly what hair bullshit Jamie might need doing, because he’s already spent half an hour after training in front of the dressing room mirror with most of the team chiming in with encouragement and advice, but it’s Jamie, so it’s probably something.)
“Not with your tragic products, I can’t,” Jamie mutters (and that’s a right laugh because Jamie knows better than most everybody that Roy does not, in fact and unlike some other people, settle for fucking Lynx or the like). “And anyway, we’re going on a date with each other, right, not just with Keeley, so we can’t get ready together. What am I supposed to do, sneak out the door and ring the bell when it’s time to pick you up?”
“What? No.”
Jamie points at him. “Right, ‘cause that’d be weird.”
“That’s not—“ But Jamie doesn’t let him finish, he just walks off with Dani, because he doesn’t have time for Roy’s spluttering, has he, and doesn’t Roy know Jamie has a date to get ready for?
Get ready he does, but because he is a filthy hypocrite (a word he does know the meaning of, so there, Coach Beard) he doesn’t hesitate to call Keeley when he can’t decide between his favourite Stone Island jacket and the new patterned Gucci number he got sent the other day, and then he has to have opinions on her shade of lipstick, and she suggests he wear the Layton she bought him a few years back, and it’s a brilliant time, just like them getting ready for the red carpet back when they were dating before.
“Bit like cheating, though, innit,” Jamie tells Keeley, out of a sudden and uncharacteristic sense of fairness. “Us asking each other for advice when getting ready for a date with each other, yeah? I should be on the phone with like Isaac, and you should talk to Rebecca or Barbara.”
“Well,” Keeley reasons as she sips her mimosa and waits for her nail polish to dry. “We’re going on a date with Roy too, and since we are the ones who properly knows what he likes and we want to look fucking fit for him, it makes sense for us to help each other out, yeah? Besides,” she adds, “we can do whatever we want, babe. Screw the rules, right?”
And yeah, right. That’s the basis for this whole thing, innit? “Yeah,” Jamie agrees, giving her a grin. “Screw the rules.” And then his smile softens into something gentler, almost shy, something she used to be the only one ever allowed to see. “Want look fucking fit for you too,” he admits, like it’s a secret.
Keeley’s smile, too, is soft. “Aw, babe, me too. And you do.”
Getting ready for their first date, like—
Roy picking Phoebe up from school and dropping her off with Sophia’s retired colleague, and when Phoebe asks why she’s not staying with him this time he takes a long moment to answer, and it’s messed up, isn’t it, that he’s this concerned about what a fucking child should think about his love life.
Not just any child, though, is she. “I’m going on a date,” he says eventually, glancing at her in the rear mirror.
“Oh.” She frowns; not in disapproval, he thinks, but in careful consideration. Then: “Is this a date with Keeley or with Jamie?”
Huh. All right, then. First potential hurdle cleared. As for the second… “Both.”
To his stupidly immense relief, Phoebe brightens at that. “That’s very clever of you, Uncle Roy. It would have been really hard to choose between Jamie and Keeley, and they both love you so much.”
Roy shakes his head, biting back a smile that’s as much affection as it is incredulity. “All right, you little precocious shit, get out of here, and be good for Ms. Mallard.”
And then he has just enough time to get back home and change out of his black shirt and trousers into another black shirt and pair of trousers, to trim his beard and add a textured silk tie (very dark purple, Keeley and Jamie better fucking appricate the splash of colour). He spends a long time staring at his reflection, partly because he really is quite vain (his stubborn protests to the contrary), but mostly because this means something to him. They do: Keeley, Jamie. The three of them, and what they could be.
It leaves him a little dizzy. It scares the hell out of him. He wants to get this right.
The door bell chimes. Jamie, and Roy has barely let him in, has barely even begun to figure out what he’s supposed to say to this Jamie, to his date Jamie, to the Jamie whose eyes sparkle and who manages to make even that ridiculous outfit look good, when the bell chimes again, and there is Keeley, a fucking vision, and Roy knows what to say to her.
“You look fucking amazing,” he says, and she giggles and leans in to kiss his cheek, very chaste (it’s a first date, after all), and still it’s nearly enough to leave him breathless with how much he’s missed her.
“Got you this,” he mutters a little hoarsely, picking up and handing over a Black Baccarat rose that’s been strategically sat on the sidetable.
Impractical, since they’re going out, and corny, but fucking sue him. Roy Kent will headbutt anyone who dares call him a romantic, but that doesn’t mean he thinks they’re wrong – and anyway, it’s worth it for the way Keeley smiles as she inhales the sweet scent.
“Uh, where’s my flower?” Jamie complains.
Roy rolls his eyes. “Jesus fucking Christ,” he growls. “Fine.” And he heads off into the kitchen where there is indeed a second rose waiting in a small vase. He’d left it there, deeply unsure if he was supposed to offer Jamie one or not; but that’s that cleared up then, flowers for Jamie is a go, he’ll make a note for their next date.
Jamie beams as he accepts his rose; grins wickedly as he, too, leans in to kiss Roy’s cheek.
Roy clears his throat, trying to ignore the way his heart’s sped up at the brief touch. “Okay. Let’s fucking do this.”
“Yeah,” Keeley agrees. “Let’s.”
And Jamie doesn’t say anthing at all, but he nods, and he takes Roy’s arm, and Keeley takes his hand, and they walk out into the night and fucking do it.

Still into You
Pairing: Peter Parker x Scarlet Witch!Reader
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You and Peter didn't end things on the best terms and wind up seeing each other again at an Avengers party.
Warnings: Angst, fighting & a tiny bit of suggestive themes
Word Count: 2,300
Tumblr media
Peter looked around, making his way into the tower, when his eyes landed on her. He felt his skin go hot and gave her a stiff wave, in an attempt to dissolve any tension. Too bad he failed miserably.
Encountering him was inevitable, Y/n knew that all too well. They were both Avengers, meaning it would happen eventually. But it didn't change the fact that she wanted nothing more than to disappear at the sight of him.
With an exasperated sigh, she trudged towards the back of the party and grabbed a drink from the stand.
After having met everyone else with a fond smile and the shake of a hand, he approached her timidly, then smirked to himself when she didn't walk away.
"You look good," he finally said.
"I'm very aware," she answered, taking a small sip from the plastic cup in her hand.
"New corset?"
"It is," she proudly looked down at it. "Made it myself, too. You know, without my powers."
The bitterness within her reply didn't go unnoticed by him, but he deserved it, is what he thought.
"Of course... How've you been, though?"
"Really great, actually. I've learned so much about work ethic with Cap," she gawked at him.
"That's good. Sam's a great teacher."
"Oh, he is!" She smiled tightly. "And a great friend, too. One who doesn't shame me for my abilities."
"That's not what that was at all." He said, recalling their breakup.
[ One Month Ago ]
Peter and Y/n's missions were very different. Since they weren't the same kinds of heroes, they often had to work separately. This time in particular, the Witch was recruited for an off-world mission, meanwhile the web-slinger had to infiltrate an illegal weapon exchange that was happening downtown.
It had been two weeks since they'd last seen each other. Those weeks were exhausting, to say the least. However, they'd been scheduled to arrive back the same day. Peter's mission was left incomplete as he wasn't able to retrieve certain weapons, but was still instructed to go back until further notice since it was no longer safe.
It wasn't a known fact to the girl since she didn't receive any reports from solo missions, but it left him in a sulky mood. And seeing as they'd planned this date in advance, he didn't want to cancel on her— despite being in the state he was in. Which was his first mistake.
"Hi, baby!" She greeted him sweetly, leaning in for a kiss.
"Hey," he said, shifting his head so she could only meet his cheek. She didn't think much of it, knowing they had the whole day to make up for lost time.
"How was the mission?" she asked as he settled himself across from her. She had chosen to meet at one of the wooden tables by the riverside of a park. Their favorite spot.
"I'd rather not talk about it. If that's okay," he sighed.
"That's more than okay," she nodded.
"I love the blinding table cover, though." He said dryly, gesturing towards the plastic. It was the silver kind, but with his heightened senses, he was sensitive to it under the shining sun.
"Oh, I forgot. Hang on." She said, changing the silver into a baby blue cloth with the flick of her wrist.
"I was in a rush when I bought it, but I can also make it green, yellow, red—"
"Okay, okay. Just stop." He tiredly said.
"Aren't you glad you have a girlfriend who can change things with her mind?" She joked, not having acknowledged his annoyance.
"It'd be nice if my girlfriend remembered I hate peppermint ice cream," he forced a smile.
"Damnit. Okay, uhhh do you want chocolate or vanilla?" Her hands began glowing once more, "Strawberry?"
"Just do whatever you want."
"I'm asking you. You're the one who's gonna eat it." She said, acknowledging his attitude.
"Chocolate chip," he shrugged.
"Is Ben and Jerry's okay?" She asked, the bowl in front of him turning into a pint.
"Can you just…"
"What?"
"I don't know...I just thought this would be a date with no magic," was all he said.
"What's wrong with magic?"
"Nothing! But it just seems to be your only solution to things lately. No offense."
"And that's wrong because...?"
"Because, you use them for every little thing. Unnecessarily, is what I'm trying to say."
"Yeah, well, that's kind of how it works," she laughed bitterly. "That's why I got this job. It's why I'm on this team."
"No, you're here because of your work ethic."
"Are you saying I'm not an ethical worker anymore?" She asked, tilting her head.
"That's— no. That's not what I'm saying at all."
"Okay? Then I don't understand what you want from me."
"Forget I said anything." He played with his spoon. "Can you just eat your Ice Cream?"
"I just— I don't understand why you're so upset."
"I mean, are you just gonna wave your hands around and call this a date?"
She raised her eyebrows at that, "What else do you want me to do? I'm the only one making the effort here."
"You're not though!"
"Peter, when was the last time you planned our dates? How come it's always me?"
"I've been on missions! You know that."
"So have I! That's no excuse!"
"In that case, why aren't you being more understanding?!"
"That's so funny coming from you." She laughed in disbelief.
"Oh my God, this is the last thing I needed today." He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "I really don't know how I thought we could make this work."
"What?" She asked sadly, the fatigued boy not yet realizing what he implied.
"It's just—"
"Are you breaking up with me or something?" She asked, biting her tongue out of fear.
"I don't know!"
"You don't know if you're breaking up with me?!"
He stayed still, quietly assessing the situation, and avoided looking at her, knowing he was way too defeated to say more. Little did he know, his silence did more damage.
"Holy shit, you are." She stood up with glossy eyes, collecting her belongings.
"We're both just really busy lately and being together isn't helping—"
"And you're just not gonna try anymore?" She asked helplessly, but was met with more silence.
"Wow," she said weakly. "You could have done this weeks ago, you know that?"
"Hang on, Y/n/n. I don't even— I wasn't trying to be mean—"
"Fuck off, Peter."
[ Present Time ]
Before either of them could say anything else, Bruce walked towards the front of the room, the microphone in his hands looking tiny in his firm grip. "Hey, everybody." He started, pausing briefly when it made a loud hiss.
"You might notice that there's a few robots walking around...the ones taking your plates, drinks, and all that. Just so you know, I designed them myself." He smiled, earning a small applause.
"Now, I've tested them. And their main goal is to help repair cities after any destruction we may cause while fighting. These guys will be cleaning up towns and rescuing civilians in no time. But they're starting off small tonight by helping us clean the tables and floors— because I know how lazy you all get after too many drinks." He joked.
His next words were barely audible when one of the robots crashed through a window, shooting recklessly from its hands along the way, which caused the rest of the machines to do the same.
"Oh my God!" Kate screamed, launching herself over a table.
The team immediately did what they could, covering their family members and safely escorting them out of the building.
Peter didn't have his suit on but began webbing them, in an attempt to pull them apart and used his strength to throw their metallic pieces against each other.
It was going well, when a multitude began surrounding him, starting to shoot at him. He dodged them as best as he could until one began to glow. A huge beam grew from its chest as it prepared to blast the boy.
Before it could happen, Y/n quickly landed by his side, creating a red field around him with her powers and held her hands up so their shooting would stop.
"There's so many of them!" Peter yelled.
She rolled her eyes at his commentary, "Really? I didn't realize!"
Stressfully, she decapitated the bots ahead of her, causing them to collapse onto the ground.
"Fuck, I forgot you could do that," he gulped, utterly dumbfounded. "It's been a while since we've worked together."
"Whose fault is that?!"
"I'm sorry!" He panted. "I really am! I tried calling—"
"We're not doing this here," she said while lifting the machines into the air, adding pressure so that they'd dent into themselves. "Also, I saved your ass. That doesn't mean we're working together."
"What do you mean? I had them!" Peter replied, swinging a bot against another.
"Yeah! You totally weren't being shot at!"
"Will you two focus?!" Sam landed between the pair.
"I am focused! Look at those bitches," said the girl, motioning towards the broken pieces in front of her. "That was all me!"
"Damn, nice job," he high-fived her. "Okay, on my signal I'm gonna need you to go left. Guard that entrance." He pointed at the door Kate and Bucky were running towards.
"Got it, Cap." She nodded.
"Peter and I will go right. They're already on their way to disconnect the power from Bruce's lab. That's all we have to do in order for them to shut down."
"What if that doesn't work?" Y/n asked.
"It will work. Their only source of energy is the power coming from the lab." He explained.
"Okay," she gave him an unconvinced look.
"Alright...now!" instructed Sam.
"Y/n/n, be careful," said Peter.
"You too, Petey," she replied, then grimaced in realization that her old nickname for him slipped out.
The three heroes were in their rightful positions ensuring that the robots wouldn't escape or get through to the lab. After minutes that felt like hours, the majority of the robots suddenly dropped to the floor. Some continued to leisurely move around, despite not having an energy source, but were immediately handled by the group since there weren't as many left.
It was a relief that no one was seriously injured, but the team consistently trained for unexpected moments like these and seemed to show remarkable growth.
"I'll go turn the power back on so that they can help us clean," Bruce chuckled, earning a pointed look from the team.
"That was a bad joke. Sorry."
- x -
The compound was as clean as it could be by the time it was midnight. Most of the heroes were either in their rooms or went back to their families for the weekend. But Peter wasn't able to sleep, so he headed to the kitchen.
"Hi," he said sheepishly, noticing Y/n was there too.
"Hey," she glanced at him.
"Um, are you okay? I didn't get a chance to ask back there."
"I'm fine."
"Okay, well, thanks for your help. I owe you one," he toyed with the string of his pajama pants.
"Don't worry about it. You'd do the same for me."
"Yeah," he mumbled. "Listen, Y/n. I wanted to apologize for—"
"You don't have to," she said, shifting uncomfortably.
"Yeah, I do." He replied shamefully. "I shouldn't have gotten on you for using your powers that day. It was stupid of me…and my anger wasn't even related to what you were doing. I was really tired and I totally took out my frustration from the mission on you. It wasn't fair."
"That's true, but you weren't wrong about me using my powers for everything." She admitted. "I definitely could have put in more effort. You're worth all the time in the world.. I didn't do my best at making you see that."
"Your powers aren't the issue, sweetheart. You're the coolest, most strategic girl I know. You tried your best with me and I was being unreasonable because I was in a shitty mood. You didn't deserve that."
"You're sure?" she asked skeptically. "What you said that day wasn't already building up?"
"I'm sure. I know I hurt you, but if you let me, I promise I'll do better. It's not gonna be easy when it comes to us, but I'm not ready to give up. I'm sorry that I made it seem like I was."
"I appreciate that," she smiled coyly. "I don't wanna give up either."
"And I do have a few ideas for future dates...if you're interested," he approached her slowly.
"That doesn't sound bad."
"So, are we okay?" He asked hopefully, resting his arms on either side of the wall she was leaning on.
"Let me think about it," she said, tilting his chin with her fingers so his lips could meet hers. He gratefully accepted, trying his best not to smile into the kiss.
It was slow and passionate, both of them savoring every second of each other after not having done so in over a month.
Without breaking the kiss, she switched their positions so that his back was against the wall. He kept his hands on her waist as she placed slow and steady kisses down his neck that left him breathless.
She smiled at the little sounds he made when she lightly nipped at his sensitive skin. He was always so easy.
"I really missed this." He panted, cupping her face to plant kisses on her jaw.
"I can tell," she tugged at his hair. They made out for a little longer until she broke the heated kiss, which made a loud smack.
"Wanna take this to my room?"
"God, yes," he responded eagerly.

== Love Notes ==
Hey there lovelies-- I've had 3 hrs sleep today so the words on the screen are starting to run together. I'm still getting love notes from yesterdays request, and thank you so much, I promise i'm catching up to the messages, you all are the best crew someone could ask for. Thank you for spreading some joy in this crazy ass world.
Tonight I would like to send a reminder that we have not lost OFMD, as so many of said, we still have 2 wonderful seasons, and those boyfriends are currently boinking their way into oblivion in their inn, making their poor customers insane. But beyond that... had a discussion today with multiple dear friends / crewmates that made me feel a lot better about the whole thing too. I know it's months in the gravy basket now, but this is not the end for OFMD. Chaos Dad told us it was over, but in all honesty it still doesn't feel over. WBD is driving itself into the ground, Dad's been off at the WBD lot, it feels like things are moving in a better direction again. It may not be today, or tomorrow, or even the next few months, or a year or so, but I think we still have a chance to see the ending of our story.
And we've all said it before, but it bears repeating, even if it never happens, we get to make it happen. Stede and Ed live on in all our crazy ranges of work out there, that so many of you have been just CRANKING out lately, I've been astonished at how much new work I've seen from folks in the the fandom I know, and new folks I haven't met! It's so inspiring to see OFMD affect people so much that they felt they could put little pieces of themselves out into the world through art of all mediums.
I hope I'm making sense at this point.. if not, sorry about that! But know-- there's always hope. There's always S1 and S2, and the infinite universes we get to dream up from those two.
Rest Well lovelies. Img Src: @Chucklesandbleu on IG

Jake doesn’t believe Danny even remembers saying it- he was so plastered the night prior. With Samuel plying him with tequila shots and Josh convincing almost everyone in the damn bar to buy the man a beer? Daniel didn’t have a prayer that night. But it was his twenty-fifth birthday! He deserved to let loose and have fun, he was always so busy being the mediator between them all.
They’d played the game of who would their ultimate hall pass be and while the rest of them spouted of a name- in Sam’s case, multiple names he couldn’t decide between- immediately, Danny had hesitated and glanced at Jake before giving a hurried answer of Margot Robbie. Jake had tabled his questions, but when they were alone together on the patio, sharing a drunk birthday cigarette, Jake had caved into his curiosity and asked, “So, what’s the real answer, then?” And when Danny asked what he meant, Jake supplied, “Who’s really your hall pass?” Danny had blanched at the question, inhaling too much of the smoke and sending himself into a coughing fit. Jake had clapped him on the back while Danny coughed the smoke out of his lungs, sensing that he already knew the answer.
Danny reached for his beer, taking a long swig and avoiding Jake’s eyes, before he answered in a small voice, “I have two actually…” he’d began and then hesitated again, but when he saw Jake’s raised eyebrow he continued slowly, without looking at him still. He told Jake it was him... him and you.
This didn’t come as a surprise to Jake, not really. He’d sometimes caught the longing, pining gazes that Danny would throw your direction and had noticed the way Danny blushed and stuttered whenever you came into the room. It didn’t make him angry or jealous- quite the opposite actually. It turned Jake on a stupid amount, made his cock twitch in his jeans just at the visual. Danny glanced up, expecting to see anger in his best friend’s eyes; he expected outrage and accusations, but instead he found a deep, ravenous desire swirling in the whiskey colored eyes of his friend.
His eyebrow still raised, Jake chuckles once, “Oh yeah?” He takes the cigarette from Danny’s fingers and takes a long pull from it, watching the confusion clutter Danny’s eyes as he watches the action with his mouth slightly agape. “What do you think about, Daniel?”
Danny’s eyes widen and he glances around at the empty patio, swallowing hard and hesitating for a few moments before he stumbles out with a, “W-what?” Jake chuckles again at his friend’s pretend cluelessness, stubbing out the finished cigarette in an ashtray and taking a half step toward Danny. He reaches out and with a gentle hand, brushes a stray curl out of Danny’s eyes. If Jake were a bit less astute, maybe he wouldn’t catch the barely there whimper that floated out from between Danny’s lips at the action.
“Tell me, Daniel. What do you think about when you think about us?” Jake was drunk, but not drunk enough that he didn’t know what he was asking and also that perhaps he was taking advantage of an even more inebriated Danny. He was drunk enough though that he took another half step toward Daniel, this time closing the distance and brushing his lips over Danny’s sensitive ears when he repeats, “When you stroke that massive cock of yours, what do you think about?” Jake punctuates his question by running his fingers down the zipper of Danny’s jeans and this time Danny’s whimper is audible.
Just then, a sloppy Sam and Dave come clambering out onto the patio, begging to bum a cigarette. Jake steps back from Danny immediately, his cool never lost in the first place. But, when he glances over at Danny the taller, younger man’s face is beet red and his fingers are trembling when he reaches for the pack of cigarettes he’d stuffed into his back pocket. Jake sticks around just long enough to shoot Danny a wink before he begins the search for his twin, ready to round up their rowdy gang and get them home.
The house Jake shared with you was the closest to the bar, so after shooting you a warning text he brought the stumbling drunk group of boys through the front door and found you waiting with McDonalds already delivered and extra pillows and blankets out. He didn’t think he’d ever loved you more than he did in that moment, watching you coax his little brother onto the couch with the promise of a large fry. He took the risk and glanced over at Danny, finding him watching you too, that yearning look his dark eyes.
When Jake crawled into bed with you that night, he mumbled out just before he passed out, “Remind me that I have to talk to you about something tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
The next morning, Jake’s splintering headache is what wakes him up- that and the scent of coffee and bacon. You’re alone in the kitchen when he pads into it with one sock on and his hair a laughable mess. You glance up at him and smile from your place at the stovetop, flipping a piece of bacon that sizzles when it hits the pan again “Good morning, handsome. Ew, don’t kiss me, I know you didn’t brush your teeth yet.” Jake pouts but hipchecks you of the way, taking over bacon duty so you could finish making the pancake batter, knowing that when the house of boys woke up they would be ravenous. It’s silent for a few minutes until finally, you venture out, “Soo… you said you have to talk to me about something, spill. Is Josh engaged?” Jake blinks before remembering his half asleep reminder the night before.
“No, not yet. However, Daniel is in love with you. And I think maybe a little bit with me.” He figures the best way to say this is to just whip it out there, rip it off like a bandaid. He never could have expected your response, though.
“Yes. I know this.” Jake startles, dropping the piece of bacon onto the pan and whirling to face you. You don’t look at him, just measure out the almond milk to add to the pancake batter and muttering something softly to yourself. Jake blinks at you a few times and you finally glance over at him, rolling your eyes at his bewildered expression, “Oh, I’m sorry, was that news?”
Jake splutters a moment, then accuses, “How long have you known?” You shrug and reply that it’s been pretty much since you met them all. He’s stumped for a moment, then overcome with love for you for the second time in less than twelve hours. “I’m in love with you. Did you know that?”
You roll your eyes again, whisking up the batter and inspecting its consistency, “Yes. I know that too.”
Jacob is about to respond when there’s a groan from the living room, then another answering one from the staircase. Time to feed the masses. This conversation will have to wait.
Tumblr media
Slyly, Jacob convinces Danny, who is surprisingly the least hungover of them all, to stick around and help Jake work out a song he’s had in his brain. And while Danny heads upstairs to Jacob’s home studio, Jake shoots you a knowing look and tells you to put on some lingerie and wait, he has a belated birthday present for Daniel.
Knowing exactly what Jake has planned, you do just that. You pull out a lacy red set that you’ve been hiding from Jake, waiting for a special occasion, and you slip one of Jake’s old t shirts over it and then you wait. Crocheting quietly in bed, you wait for your phone to light up by your side with a text from Jake. After what feels like hours, you get one.
You peek into the cracked open door, able to see Jake in his favorite chair and the back of Danny’s head where he sits on the cracked leather couch. Jake glances up when you creak open the door and pad across the wooden floors of the studio, leaning over the back of the couch right beside Danny and murmuring directly into his ear, “You boys still playing?” Danny jumps, but then melts into the couch at the sound of your giggle in his ear. You dare to playfully kiss Danny’s temple, an act that makes his cheeks flush pink, and you stretch your arms up as you come around the couch.
Danny inhales sharply when you enter his field of view. You didn’t bother to put on sweatpants-didn’t think you’d need them- and when you raise your arms above your head, the red lace of the panties is just barely visible. You glance to Jake, who has put his acoustic guitar to the side and is sitting with his legs spread; he is watching you with nothing short of a cocky pride in his umber eyes. Deciding the easiest thing to do would be to just take the plunge and get this thing started, you close the distance between you and Jake. He’s watching you hungrily, like he’s a tiger and you’re his preferred dinner, and you pause in front of him. Casting a glance over your shoulder at Danny, who shifts in his seat on the couch, you grin and then finger the hem of Jake’s t shirt. Then, you shoot him a wink and pull the shirt over your head.
You hear Danny gasp softly from behind you, but you cast your eyes down to Jake, whose gaze darkens as he takes you in. In a moment, Jake growls and pulls you down onto his lap. He captures your mouth with his in a hungry kiss, something messy and passionate and dizzying. His hands grip your hips, snapping the waistband of your panties against your skin and making you moan into his mouth. “I love you.” His murmured words are low enough that Danny won’t hear them, spoken into your ear when he brushes his lips along your temple. Then, louder, Jake informs you, “Why don’t you show Daniel how pretty you look, baby. I just know he’s dying to see.”
A shaky whimper is Danny’s only response and the sound makes a rush of heat bloom between your legs. You climb out of Jake’s lap and turn towards Danny, who shifts in his seat again in a last ditch attempt to hide his more than obvious erection. You come to a slow stop in front of him and only when your knees are pressed against his does Danny’s gaze drop to your body. His gaze feels different from Jake’s, who usually looks at you with a hungry appreciation. Danny’s gaze feels like a caress, like you can physically feel the callous pads of his fingers over the tops of your breasts and down your stomach and thighs. The world narrows to the two of you, not even Jake exists in this moment when Danny reaches out and skims his fingers over the bare skin of your stomach. “Fuck it.” He breathes out, taking two hands and grasping onto your hips, pulling you roughly into his lap. When Danny kisses you, there’s nothing graceful about the collision of your mouths. It’s clumsy and sloppy and absolutely perfect. You allow yourself to melt against his hard body, tangling your fingers into his curls.
Jake, never one to be forgotten for very long, shakes you both of your frantic make out session when his weight dips the cushion next to Danny down as he sits. He looks between you both hungrily, then fists your loose hair and pulls you from Danny’s mouth, murmuring out, “My turn.” Danny doesn’t even have time to mourn the loss of you before Jake has captured Danny’s mouth with his, kissing him slow and deep. Danny moans into Jake’s mouth, earning a growl in response from Jake, and you take the opportunity of having free lips to press wet kisses down Danny’s angled neck. Jake’s hand slips down Danny’s body, his firm chest and stomach, before pausing at the waistband of Danny’s jeans. Jake pulls his mouth from Danny’s to look him in the eyes when he pops the button of Danny’s pants.
“Wait!” Danny gasps out just as Jake begins to finger the zipper and both yourself and Jake freeze, worried you’ve pushed Danny too far. His chest is rising and falling heavy and hard and he glances between the two of you frantically before babbling out an explanation, “I-I want to go to your bed… I want to do this right. Not on this shitty couch.” You melt a little bit at his sweetness and you notice Jake does too, a half smile pulling at his full lips. He pulls his hand from Danny’s pants and pulls his face to his again, pressing quick pecks to his lips.
“Okay, Daniel. We’ll do this the right way.” Jake murmurs into Danny’s mouth, biting down gently on his bottom lip as he pulls away from him. You clamber off Danny’s lap and hold out your hand, which he takes with no hesitation and allows you to pull him up off of the couch. You know Jake follows faithfully behind you as you guide Danny down the hall toward your bedroom and if you let your hips sway a little bit on the walk, well who could blame you.
Upon reaching the bedroom, you turn on your heel to face the two boys, backing up until the backs of your knees hit the bed, “So, what comes next boys?” You venture the question, ignoring when the strap of your bra falls down on your shoulder and Jake comes up from behind Daniel, stroking his fingers down his back.
“It’s Daniel’s birthday, I think he should decide.” Jake comes around to stand behind you now, sweeping your hair over your shoulder and pressing kisses to the bare skin there while he waits for Danny to answer.
“I-I…” Danny stumbles out, his hands trembling at his sides and you step out of Jake’s embrace to reach for them, holding both of his in yours and pressing kisses to his knuckles. You guide him to the bed, gently forcing him to sit on the edge.
“Hey,” you start softly, brushing his hair from his face and skating the backs of your fingers down his cheek, “Don’t let Jakey fool you, Danny. You’re in control here. Why don’t you start by telling us what you’ve imagined before?” You keep your voice soothing, your gaze soft and the bed dips down where Jake sits next to Danny, taking one of his big hands in his.
Danny nods, swallows, and then ventures out a soft, “I think about eating you out like… a lot. And-and I think about taking you from behind and also I-I’ve thought about sucking Jake off w-way too much. And, oh fuck I-” he trails off with that last thought and you cannot help the soft giggle that escapes you as you lean forward to press your lips to his.
“Well, I think I know where to start then. Do you want to know a secret, Daniel?” You murmur out the question and he nods just barely. You giggle again and glance over at Jake, who is watching the two of you with a simmering hunger in his brown eyes. You return your gaze to Danny when you tell him, “You can get Jake to do anything if you offer him a blowjob in return. He’s weak for them. All I have to do when I want him to do something is sink to my knees.” Jake groans from his spot beside Daniel and leans over, taking Danny’s earlobe between his teeth and tugging gently.
Jake mutters the plea directly into Danny’s ear, “Please, Danny, suck my cock, god I want you to.” Danny moans softly and turns his head to capture Jake’s lips with his own. You sink to your knees in front of Jake, gently pulling on Danny’s hand for him to do the same.
When Danny joins you on the floor, you pull his mouth to yours and pull at his shirt, only pausing in your frantic kissing for him to remove it. When you turn to Jake, his own shirt is off and he’s stripped to his boxer briefs, palming himself over them while he watches the two of you.
“I’ll show you what he likes, what drives him crazy,” you promise and Danny nods, eyeing Jake’s bulge hungrily and reaching to run his fingernails down Jake’s thigh. Jake groans and finally shucks his underwear down, letting his already leaking cock spring free from their confines. You lean forward and lap at the pink head of him, pressing a kiss to the tip. Then, you lick him root to tip and suck him into your mouth, prompting another groan from Jake as his head lolls on his shoulders. When you let him pop free, you scoot over and gesture with your eyes for Danny to take his turn.
To both of your surprise, this cannot be Danny’s first time sucking a man off; because the way he swirls his tongue around Jake’s leaking head, sucking it just barely between his lips before swallowing him down almost to the hilt? It’s not newbie territory. Jake lets out a sort of surprised groan, his hands flying to Danny’s head to keep him there. “Fuck, Danny!” He groans out the exclamation and Danny moans in response, making Jake’s hips twitch. Danny bobs his head a few times up and down the length of Jake before releasing him and licking at his head. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Danny chuckles at Jake’s cursing, bringing his hand up to fist Jake’s cock and stroke him lightly, shooting you a wink.
You raise your eyebrows at him, impressed, and Danny shrugs, “Told you I’ve thought about this before…” He trails off before swallowing Jake down again, making Jake double over with a whine of his name. Deciding you’re not needed down here like you thought you would be, you come to kneel on the bed next to Jake, pressing kisses up his neck before capturing his lips with yours in a searing kiss. You can’t see what Danny is doing anymore, but clearly it’s working given the moans Jake is letting loose into your joined mouths.
Finally, “Fuck! Fuck, Danny, you gotta stop. I’m gonna cum.” Jake begs him, physically pulling Danny’s head from his aching, twitching cock. Danny gasps for breath, before surging upward, pushing Jake back onto the bed and climbing over top of him. He kisses him rabidly and Jake’s hands scrabble at his back as you watch them kiss furiously off to the side. You’re surprisingly content to watch the scene unfold, to watch as Jake reaches down to palm Danny through his jeans while also rutting his hips upward into Danny’s thigh. Jake’s eyes flutter open though and land on you and he gasps out, “We’re forgetting someone…”
Danny’s head whips to face you and you give a small wave, his eyes darken when he takes you in, a certain hunger that wasn’t in them before this moment. “C’mere… I have another fantasy to make reality.” You crawl over eagerly as Danny flips onto his back, Jake reaches up to unclasp your bra when you come to a stop beside Danny’s bare torso. He grins crookedly at you, his smile charming and endearing as it always is as he instructs, “Come up here, princess, want you to ride my face.”
“Spoiling her are we?” Jake murmurs into your skin, plucking at the waistband of your panties again. Danny only hums an affirmative and pulls on your fingers, wanting you to do exactly what he commanded.
You shed your panties, then crawl up Danny’s body until you’re hovering over his mouth. Danny shakes his head and grips your hips, “I said sit on my face.” And with that he pulls your center down to his mouth and gets to work. You cry out, gripping the headboard at the initial long lick up your center, punctuated with a swirl around your clit. Your cry melts into a whiny moan when he sucks your clit into his mouth, laving his tongue over the bud and lapping at it. He pulls away just enough to mutter out, “Fuck you taste good. I could live like this.” Your only response is another long moan when he continues licking at your weeping, aching pussy. You feel Jake’s fingers skim down your back, reminding you of his presence, but the reminder is moot when Danny flattens his tongue and shakes his head back and forth along your clit, making you cry out his name. Your legs start to shake and your whole body warms with your impending orgasm, one that you warn Danny of in a gasping breath. “Cum on my face, do it. Finish right in my mouth.” It only takes another suckle of your clit into his mouth for your blinding orgasm to race through your whole body, making you squeeze your trembling thighs around his head and nearly pull out a chunk of his curls.
When you finally come down, you’re panting and still trembling. Danny presses a kiss to each thigh and helps you off of his face, allowing you to collapse, boneless, onto the bed. Both boys press kisses down your neck and shoulders and you hum in contentment, still in ecstasy at the feeling of one of the best orgasms of your life so far. “Okay, someone needs to fuck me now.” You sigh the words, stretching your arms above your head and letting your legs part.
Both boys chuckle at your readiness and Jake’s fingers skim down your body, landing between your legs and parting you where you’re still sensitive, “Mmm, she’s wet enough for it. You took care of that, Daniel.” Jake rolls on top of you and you let your legs part even more, welcoming his hips against yours. “I’ll take her first, then you can live out that last little fantasy of yours, Daniel.” You moan in anticipation, eyeing Daniel’s bulge through the jeans still on his body.
Jake takes his cock in his fist, looking down your bodies to watch as he enters you slowly, but all at once. His eyes flutter at the feeling of you tightening around him and he reaches down to take one leg and hitch it high on his hip, sending him sinking another little bit deeper inside of you. Jake inhales and exhales once, his head hung low before he brings his gaze up to yours. Then, he pulls out only to slam home again, pulling a low moan from you. You gasp his name as he repeats the action, harder and even deeper and he grinds your own out in return. Soon, Jake has set a rhythm that’s achingly divine and leaves you wanting for nothing more than for it to never end. He pounds into you, his gaze falling to your breasts as they bounce with every thrust. He takes your hand in his free hand and holds it above your head, linking your fingers together. This brings him down low enough for you to bring your mouths together in another searing kiss.
Though, you pull away from it to turn your head and meet Daniel’s dark gaze; he has unzipped his pants and has his hand down them, palming himself over his briefs as he watches Jake fuck into you mercilessly. You reach your free hand across the bed and he crawls toward it, taking it and bringing it up to his mouth, kissing each finger in an act of tenderness that makes your heart swell.
Jake angles himself so that he hits that perfect, soft spot deep inside of you while releasing your hand at the same time to begin toying with your clit with his middle finger, swirling around the still sensitive bud and pulling you closer toward another orgasm. Just as your second one overtakes you so strongly that it has your eyes rolling back into your head, Jake’s rhythm begins to falter, “Fuck, sweet girl, you’re squeezing me so tight. I’m gonna cum. Fuck!” Danny’s hand traces Jake’s spine and that simple touch seems to be enough for Jake to cry out, swell, and then spill inside of you. He rides out his high and then falls down to his elbows above you, gasping for breath. “Christ, that never gets old. I’m gonna fuck you every single day til I die.” He promises and you giggle, reaching up to press a kiss to his nose and tell him not to make promises he cannot keep.
At the same time, both of your gazes land on Daniel, who has finally shed his black jeans and his waiting in his briefs on his knees at the edge of the bed. You gently push Jake off of you and he lets you, collapsing back onto the bed to catch his breath. Crawling toward Daniel, you come up on your knees when you reach him, pressing kisses from the waistband of his briefs up his chest all of the way to his lips. “Are you gonna fuck me now, Danny?” Reaching down, you knock his own hand away from the aching bulge in his briefs, palming him slowly. Your eyes widen at the feel of him, he’s probably the biggest you’ve ever had and you haven’t even seen it yet. You want it. Badly. “What was it you said? You want to take me from behind?” You turn around and fall onto your hands and knees, wiggling your hips invitingly.
Danny groans, taking your hips in his and bringing them back to his own hips, You hear him rustle around behind you, before you feel his tip sliding between your folds. You whine his name and gasp out a plea, one that he takes to heart as he carefully, so carefully, slides himself inside of you. He’s definitely the biggest you’ve ever had, when he’s barely halfway in you think he’s done only for him to bury himself to the hilt and have you moaning wantonly. He curses and slides his fingers down your back, before he pulls out slowly and then slams back in hard enough to nearly send you flying onto your face. You cry out and this seems to spur him into motion.
Danny fucks you like you’ve never been fucked before.
God, does it feel good: the way he pulls all of the way out only to slam home, pulling your hips back against his to meet him halfway. Your moans and whines are constant as he rails you, fisting your hair in his hand to arch your back at the perfect angle for him to hit your cervix with his tip. And his mouth? Gone is the nervous, meek Daniel you started the night with… now you’ve got a man who smacks your ass with an open palm and when you cry out his name, spits back, “Oh, she likes it rough doesn’t she? She likes it hard and deep, huh? Princess likes to get railed. Fuck, you feel good.” Your cry melts into a mewl at his dirty words and the pet name- not one that usually turns you on, but when Danny uses it? Oh god.
Danny hits you with a thrust suddenly that has your arms wobbling before they give out beneath you and your face is pressed into the mattress as Danny hikes your ass higher into the air, giving it another harsh, stinging slap. Danny presses you deeper into the mattress and fucks you even harder somehow. Soon, you’re cockdrunk. You’re practically drooling onto the sheets when Jake finally has the energy to crawl toward you, leaning down and murmuring into your ear, “He’s giving it to you real good, isn’t he sweet girl? Tell him, tell him how good it feels. Tell him how you’re our little cockwhore.” You moan at Jake’s words, but cannot form a single coherent sentence for the life of you.
“Princess with the sweet, tight, little pussy- that’s what you are. Tell me that’s what you are. Tell me how much you love it when I fuck you like this.” Danny’s words are a command, but you still cannot string together enough words to satisfy him. That is, until he smacks your ass again with those giant hands and slams into your cervix hard, sending you into a spiraling fall toward another orgasm.
“Fuck!! Fuck, Danny! I’m your princess, I’m your cockwhore. I’m all of it, just don’t stop, please don’t stop!” Danny only groans in response, his hips stuttering in their previously punishing pace. You hit the ground and go splat, your third orgasm of the night ripping you in half with how impossibly good it feels. Danny, feeling you finish around his cock, moans out his own warning. You feel Jake lift from his spot beside you and when you turn your head, he’s pulled Danny’s face to his in a furious kiss. Danny lasts another one, two, three thrusts before he cries out in Jake’s mouth and spills inside of you. He stays there for a few hours long moments, catching his breath and pressing soft pecks to Jake’s waiting mouth. When he pulls out, you both audibly mourn the loss. You roll onto your back, nearly melting into the slightly damp sheets, feeling an exhaustion that goes deep into your bones.
When the clean up is done, you reach for a hesitant Danny, who stands at the edge of the bed like he doesn’t know what to do next. You pull him onto the bed, then curl up onto his chest when he lays down and relaxes into the mattress. Pressing kisses to his chest, you feel his one hand reach around and pull you tighter against him. Eventually, you feel Jake settle in behind you, molding his body to the curve of yours and taking Danny’s opposite hand in his own.
“Well, I think that’s pretty impressive of us,” you whisper and though Jake is already snoring, Daniel is still awake.
“How’s that, princess?”
“We got all your fantasies in one night. We rock.”

Until the end
(Tara Carpenter x fem! reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Just a little something to make up for the recent inactivity :)) Warnings: angst a/n: it's a bit short 😭 (and it might not make sense lol, I tried something) (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
Tara had been a bit weird for the past few weeks, and the others couldn't help but notice. They tried to see what was wrong, offering the brunette to listen if she had problems or just wanted to talk, but each time she denied them.
It was only when Sam came into her sister's room one night and found her crying in her bed, that Tara accepted to talk to her. Just a little bit.
"Why are you crying, Tara...? You know you can talk to me -to us- if you need to..."
"I know I- it's just... embarrassing... like really- you wouldn't even know..." the youngest Carpenter said quietly
"I won't judge you; you know I never would. You can talk freely, Tara. It's just you and me"
"You don't understand, it's- it's more complicated than that..."
"What do you mean?" Sam asked, a bit concerned now
"I..." she took a deep breath "I think I'm in love..."
"That's... a good thing, right? Who is the lucky guy? Or... girl?"
"Who she is doesn't matter... It's impossible for us to be together..."
Sam took her sister's hand and gave her a gentle squeeze as she saw tears in her eyes.
"Why is that? Is she already taken? Does she like someone else?"
Tara shook her head, trying her best to hold back her tears.
"Maybe, who knows...? I- I don't even know her very well... But sometimes I feel like... I feel like we've lived so many things together... I know it doesn't make any sense but... I don't know how to explain it..."
"Then how can you say you love her if you-"
"I don't know, Sam." Tara cut her off "I told you; I don't really know how to explain it... I have this feeling that... that deep down, I know her... that we lived many lives together... but at the same time, I don't really know her... She seems so close... and yet she's out of reach..."
"How is this possible? Tara, I don't understand, who-"
"I know, I sound crazy. You don't need to understand. I'm fine, really. I'll... get over her. Thank you, for listening..."
"Tara-"
"Can you leave now, please? I'd like some alone time..."
Sam looked at her sister for a moment, not saying a word, not sure if it was a good idea to leave her alone, but eventually nodded and got up.
"I'm here, if you need to talk again"
"Thank you, but I'm fine, I swear"
She gave her a little smile that, she hoped, was convincing. She kept that smile on until Sam got out of her room. Only then, her smile disappeared.
She sat on her bed, fidgeting with her fingers, almost nervously.
"... I know you're here, you know...? I know what you must think. That whoever I have feelings for surely doesn't deserve me, or whatever you're supposed to say in this kind of situation. Or that it's not good to say I'm fine, even though I'm not. I know that, but... She wouldn't understand. No one would..."
She sighed, before laying down on her back.
"But you would, right? I know you would. I'm sure you know what it is to like someone, even if you never met..."
She let out a little chuckle, covering her eyes with her arm.
"But still, it was a bit rude to listen to the conversation I had with my sister, don't you think? Don't act all innocent; I know you were here. I can feel your presence. I'm not saying that in a mean way, though. It's just... embarrassing, for me at least..."
She paused for a moment, thinking of what to say next.
"You know, I thought about the moment I would confess a million times. Yet I never thought it would go that way; you being here when I talk about that with my sister... It was inevitable, I guess"
She stayed silent again, as if waiting for an answer.
"Are you waiting for someone to come out of the shadow of my room, where I could not have seen them, saying something like 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spy on you'? We both know it won't happen"
Another silence filled the room.
"What...? You don't... you still don't understand? I thought I made it obvious though..."
She sighed and sat up.
"I love you."
She had a sad smile on her face now.
"Yes, I'm talking to you. You, behind your screen... so close, yet so far away from me... Don't act so shocked, you should have seen it coming... I mean- you knew what you were reading, right?"
Tears started to form in her eyes.
"I was not wrong when I said we lives many lives together, was I? I feel like I've already fallen for you so many times, in so many different ways..."
Another little pause.
"You're not going to leave me, right? That's... so stupid... of course you are. You can't stay here forever..."
She sniffled, as tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"It's almost the end, isn't it? There isn't much time left, I can feel it. So, please... Try to visit me again sometimes, hm? I won't move, I promise... My story won't change either, nor will my love for you..."
She whipped her tears away.
"I know we can't have a happy end together, but... I would really appreciate it if you came back from time to time... Or if you can't... just don't forget me, okay...? I won't forget you..."
She tried to put herself together, a smile forming on her face. She didn't want her last impression to be her crying on her bed.
"Thank you for staying with me until the end. I love you"

Pairing: Dean Winchester x f! Reader, (Big bro vibes) Sam Winchester x f! Reader
Warnings: a bit of sadness and Dean being Dean, not in a good way, a dose of reality from Chuck
A/N: This is very loosely based off the Fanfiction episode and I heard Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow for the first time in a while and I immediately thought it would make a good story. Italics are flashbacks and both Dean and the readers thoughts.
Thanks to @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior for the continued help and proof reading. I credit her for the interaction between the waitress and Dean, she put it far more eloquently than I had first wrote it.
As always thoughts, hearts, and reblogs are welcome and much appreciated! X 🤍
PS. Currently working on Deans Valentines Day P3 as we speak!! 😁

“You deserve more than I can give.”
“I loose every person I allow to get close to me”
“I just can’t anymore…”
***
Flashbacks from three days ago have been living rent free in my head. That’s when Dean told me we were never going to be more than friends. We weren’t even anything, yet. That’s when he left the bunker, to give me space. I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
Again, tears built up in my eyes threatening to spill over.
I was holed up in my bedroom, across the hall from Dean’s room. This was hard on me, but even so on Sam. Sam would check on me ever so often, usually to bring me food and water.
“Hey, (Y/N), I got you some (breakfast, lunch, dinner).” He’d say while giving me a tried smile.
“Dean is a dumbass, you know that. He gets in his head about everything.”
A faint grin began to tug at the corner of my mouth as my eyes began to close, my body burnt out from the continuous flashbacks. Through everything I was thankful Sam cared for me like a big brother should.

Dean’s POV
“You deserve more than I can give.”
“I loose every person I allow to get close to me”
“I just can’t anymore…”
I was looking at her picture. I couldn’t get (Y/N) out of my head. I missed her with every ounce of myself. Quickly, I put her picture away as number 3 came out of the bathroom. I felt tears threaten to appear. I knew I couldn’t look at your picture while I was laying next to her.
Thankfully, I fell asleep before anything could happen with the third woman I took back to my motel room from the bar. She was gone before I woke up this morning.
My stomach made noise signaling that I was overdue for breakfast.
12:30PM
I groaned at how long I had slept. Quickly I got dressed and headed to the nearest diner to grab a really late breakfast. I had a hankering for Pancakes like (Y/N) makes me for my birthday breakfast every year.
The bell over the door to the Breakfast All Day Diner chimed as I opened the door. The smell of all things breakfast filled my senses as I followed what the sign at the host table said,
Please seat yourself!
Pulling out a menu from where it was tucked between the napkin dispenser and condiments holder, I opened it in search of any type of pancake, although nothing would ever compare to (Y/N’s).
Tumblr media
As I pulled the menu up to my face to read the small print, I vaguely registered the chime of the diner door. Seconds later, I felt the presence of someone staring at me. Slowly I lowered my menu to see Chuck.
“Hello Dean.” He spoke almost sounding scornful.
“Chuck.” I said back unamused.
Without asking he slid into the booth to sit across from me.
Just then a attractive, brunette waitress appeared, seemingly reader to take our, my order.
What can I get you gentlemen today?” She asked, and I noticed the way her eyes lingered on my face. I knew the look she was giving me, I'd seen it enough times in my life. It was an invitation - to flirt, to hit on her, possibly more.
I was having none of it. I have or had a woman at home. Sighing, I read off my order of two pancakes, eggs over easy, and extra bacon in place of sausage. Chuck just ordered a black coffee.
“Are you going to ask why I’m here? Chuck asked somewhat annoyed.
“I’m sure you’re planning on telling me anyways. I deadpanned back.
Before Chuck could share of his reason for showing up, my meal was set in front of me. The smell of my plate wafted to my nose and I was ready to dig in. With a forkful of pancake midway to my lips Chuck started speaking again.
“I wrote (Y/N) into the story for a reason. Opposites attract, she is your opposite Dean.”
My eyes dilated as I took in Chucks simple words. Immediately, my thoughts orbited (Y/N).
“How could this be?”
“I am no good for her.”
“I can’t give her the life she deserves.”
“I can’t loose her.”
“I told her I couldn’t…can I?
As all these and a plethora of other reasons why it couldn’t work circulated my brain, I was brought back to reality at the ring of my cell.
(Y/N)
She was calling me after three damn days. Without thinking, I picked up the call. Chuck smiled knowingly.
Before I could say anything, (Y/N) spoke.
“I just called to say, I love you. Come back home.”

(Dean Winchester x Reader)
Tumblr media
(Part 1) (Part 3)
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: After a phone call from Jodi, Dean decides to go see you in hopes to make things up to you. You debate on whether or not he should know about his daughter.
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: None other than a mention of some spoilers
Tumblr media
The sound of one of Dean’s Black Sabbath cassettes rang through the Impala as he focused on the road. Jodi had been in contact with Y/N? Why didn't Y/N reach out to him? Or even Sam?
That phone call from Jodi was unexpected and Dean still didn't know all of the details of everything. All Dean knew was that Y/N was working at some Walgreen's several towns over from Jodi and now she was living with Jodi after they reconnected while Jodi was on a hunt one weekend.
"Dude, why are you so tense about this?" Dean heard his little brother ask. You know for a guy that's supposed to be the smarter one of the duo, he definitely had his blond moments once in a while. But then again, Dean hadn't had the time to lead on how worked up about you leaving he really was.
"It's just.. when she left it wasn't exactly on the best terms, okay? Let's leave it at that." Dean answered and Sam raised a brow. It was a look from the younger brother that seemed to say 'maybe we shouldn't leave it at that' but Sam knew it was an issue between you and Dean and honestly- the younger hunter wasn't sure he would even know how to help fix things if Dean told him everything.
"Well maybe that's why Jodi called you in the first place. I mean it wasn't a secret to anyone that she cared about you. Maybe Jodi thought that now would be a good time for you to talk about whatever that fight was. I mean it's been a year, and I think that's a long enough time without reaching out."
Dean listened and tightened his jaw. It was a little annoying how much sense Sam made sometimes. It was partly the reason why Sam ended up being the one taking on these trials anyways, and Dean still hated the idea because in his mind it was his job to keep Sam safe - even if they were in their 30's.
"Yeah, I guess you have a point." Dean finally replied but his gaze was still fixed on the road ahead of him to get to Jodi's.
~
"You asked him to come here?" You asked Jodi with a bit of an upset tone. You weren't prepared to see Dean, and a part of you didn't want to after what happened when you left. He wanted you gone and you wanted to stay away.
"Y/N you need to be real about this. It's been a year and you need to talk this out. Plus, don't you think Dean has a right to know about his daughter? He's already lost three months with her." The sheriff pointed out as she sat next to Y/C/N and watched her play while she was on her tummy.
"Dean was the one that said he never should have brought me along. And even then maybe he shouldn't know about Y/C/N. Not because I don't want him to - but because both of the boys have enough on their plates almost constantly. He couldn't handle having a baby around even he wanted her. It'll only add on to his stress and that's honestly the last thing he needs." You sat down with Jodi and your daughter.
"That's a little unfair though, isn't it? He deserves at least a chance. Having a kid causes stress to anyone whether they're a hunter or not. It's hard being a parent and it can be challenging and its frustrating. Trust me, I would know. But on the flip side, having a child brings so much joy. Their smiles give you a reason to go on. They'll make you laugh, make you cry, make you feel proud. I'm sure you've felt some of those things already as a new mom." You nodded as Jodi spoke and looked at your daughter.
"Don't you think Dean deserves the chance to feel all of those things too? Don't you think Y/C/N deserves to have a father in her life?"
You continued to listen and you started to think. You remembered a time when Dean would talk about walking away from hunting and how he tried that with Lisa and Ben. You remembered how he would think it would be impossible to retire and have that fabled 'Apple Pie' life again. Then you started thinking about your daughter. You knew she would be better off if she had two parents. At least you hoped that would be the case anyways.
You watched as Y/C/N lifted her legs a little and tried her best to get on all fours so she could crawl or at least sit up. She had that same exact look of determination that Dean gets on his face. You knew Dean would raise her up with Rock and Roll and Scooby Doo, and you knew she would be all for it.
"We'll just have to see how he even feels about all of it. Who knows what kind of chaos both the boys are going through. If Dean thinks he can handle having a baby around amongst all of everything then we can talk about it." You said after a few moments with your thoughts.
"How long do you think it will take for them to get here?" You glanced over at Jodi as she started getting up and she walked over to the coat rack to get her jacket.
"Well, I gave him the call last night around midnight our time. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Sam were on the way right after the call. So maybe they'll be here sometime this afternoon or this evening if they don't stop." Jodi replied as she finished putting on her jacket and got ready to go to the station.
Your heart nearly flipped at the idea of Dean being that eager to see you again. But you had to force yourself to remember the fight so you wouldn't get too excited. You couldn't afford to have your heart so eagerly on your sleeve for Dean Winchester again.
"I see. Well, can you think of anything you would want for dinner tonight? I was thinking about going to the store and picking up some groceries anyway." You tried to change the subject and Jodi just smiled and chuckled.
"Make whatever you'd like. But don't forget the pie for the boys." She said, knowing Dean would eat most of the pie rather than Sam.
~
The evening came and after you fed your daughter and gave her a bath, you put her to bed in her crib in your room and she was fast asleep. Now you were in the kitchen making dinner for that night since Jodi was on her way back.
'What do I say? How would I even bring her up? Maybe it can just wait a while. Maybe he wouldn't warm up to the idea of kids after all.' Your mind was going a mile a minute as you started making some pasta. It was something simple and low energy to make and you were grilling some chicken with it.
But the more you allowed yourself to over think about it all, the more you gave yourself a headache. Your stomach was churning with the wave of anxiety because it's been so long since you've seen the Winchesters. A part of you wondered if you should even be feeling this way.
After all, if Sam said you shouldn't have been brought along and if they thought you had been such a hindrance to them, then why should you even consider the hope of hunting with them again? You were a mom now and you were with Jodi so now you had help. You didn't need the boys - even if you desperately wanted to be with them again. Especially Dean.
You heard the door open and you assumed it was Jodi based off the laughter that you hear but you also hear more than just her footsteps. You hear two other sets of footsteps followed by an all to familiar voice.
"You should've seen the time when Sam was bringing some groceries to the bunker. He slipped and fell and the milk dropped on the stairs and practically exploded everywhere." Dean laughed and you assume the brothers were telling embarrassing stories about one another to catch Jodi up on their shenanigans.
"I swear I had a bruise on my back for like a month. And its not easy going down stairs with bags blocking your view of where you step." Sam said and rubbed the back of his neck, a little embarrassed to say the least. "Plus you should've seen Dean with the pie prank."
"A pie prank? What did you do, Sam?" Jodi asked with a chuckle as she took off her jacket and placed it on the coat hanger.
"It wasn't a prank, it was the work of Lucifer." Dean said with so much annoyance in his tone.
"It was more like a work of art, really," Sam said with a smile before speaking again, "Dean wanted a pie one night. Nothing too out of the ordinary about that because it's Dean. Well I got him some pie and while the rest of dinner was being cooked, I mixed some hot peppers in with the pie filling."
Jodi laughed and Sam joined in when he reminisced on the prank he played on his older brother, "He went through three bottles of water. I swear he has almost no spice tolerance."
"Not when its ghost peppers like what you mixed in the filling." Dean remarked but he cracked a grin nonetheless. It was a memorable moment for sure and it was some joy for Sam in the downtime of their constant hunting and world saving.
"Oh you boys. Even with all of the jobs you've got it's nice to know you two still have fun with each other once in a while." Jodi smiled as she started walking into the kitchen. She motioned for the boys to follow her and so they did.
"Smells good in here, Y/N. Whatcha makin'?" You heard Jodi ask and when you looked over you smiled at Jodi.
"Some chicken alfredo." You answered and that was when you saw Dean walking through the door with his brother.
You swore that your heart stopped that you saw Dean and both of you instantly locked eyes. He was just as handsome as the day you left. He was really there with his brother. What were you supposed to say to him first? But you knew that you needed to say something to both of them.
"Hey, guys. Make yourself at home." You said and turned around so you could break your gaze from Dean and focus on the meal so nothing could burn.
Jodi and Sam looked at each other and Jodi watched as Sam gave Dean a little nudge to go talk to you. Then, Jodi and Sam went to the living room so they could talk.
Dean looked over and he saw that the other two left, then he looked back at you. He gulped a little before he started to walk over. It was odd. Dean has faced monsters, demons, angels, and yet he was hesitating on a simple interaction. Then again, you held a special spot in his heart and the fact that he pushed you away was holding him back. You had to still be angry with him right?
"Y/N, I.. You look great." He said and you could tell that he was struggling with where to start.
"Thanks. You haven't changed much." You replied and focused on the stovetop. You heard the way Dean sighed before he carefully reached out and took a careful hold of one of your hands and took the utensil form you. Then he turned the burner down.
He looked down at you and you refused to meet his gaze at first. But he gave your hand a soft squeeze before he started speaking.
"Y/N, I think you know why I'm here. I wouldn't put it past Jodi to let you know I was coming." He said and you shrugged slightly before you slowly lifted your gaze up at him and you took your hand away from him.
"I knew you were coming. I didn't really ask why you would travel all this way." You answered and crossed your arms a little, trying so hard to stay guarded.
"You haven't thought at all about the last night we spent at that hotel when we fought? Haven't thought about the argument? Because I have and if I could take everything back then I would. And you aren't exactly making things easy by being stand offish." Dean said.
"Dean, you can't just come over one night and expect everything to be fine and dandy just because you feel bad about what happened. What you said really hurt that night. Your problem is that you just don't think before you open your damn mouth. I know I wasn't there for a lot in the beginning and when Cass first came onto the scene. I know I came into your lives a little late but I turned out to be a pretty damn good hunter. Me caring about you didn't make it to where I was in the way. It made it to where Sam wasn't the only one looking out for you when Cass wasn't around. You were the one that messed up. And boy, you messed up big time."
"Don't you think I know that? You're right, I don't always think before I speak. And I regretted what happened everything I said the second after I let it slip. And I regretted it ever since you walked out of that door, alright? But ever since I got the call from Jodi that you were with her, I knew I had to see you again to at lease apologize even if you wouldn't listen."
"Then show me that you regretted it. Show me how badly you wish you could have taken everything back." You dared as you looked at Dean. Dean didn't hesitate this time around and he backed you up against the counter.
He lifted his hand and cupped your cheek and started to lean closer and closer until...
You suddenly hear your daughter crying upstairs. You saw a change in Dean's eyes as he backed up from you a little. You thought your mind was racing before: it was nothing compared to this moment. What could possibly be going on in Dean's mind now?
"Y/N? Is there something you need to tell me?"

Phantom in Gotham 5
Chapter 4
After class with Tim, Danny went through the rest of his classes in relative silence. He had a few other classes with Steph, but he was still trying to keep his distance. The two reminded him of his friendship with Sam and Tucker, and he wasn’t ready for that kind of friendship again.
Danny had to remind himself that this was only temporary. He was in hiding from his parents, the GIW, and probably Vlad. It wouldn’t be fair to Tim if Danny suddenly disappeared again without word. In case anyone found his new identity, he definitely didn’t want the two normal kids to be involved. They didn’t deserve that.
“Hey Spaceboy,” Steph called, jumping up beside Danny on their way to lunch and linking their arms. Danny felt himself smile at her antics.
“Spaceboy?” Danny laughed.
“Cause you’re a future astronaut,”Steph said with a tone that felt like she was implying a ‘duh’ at the end. “It’s one of many nicknames for you.”
“Many huh? Now I’m a bit worried,”Danny added, letting her steer them to their usual lunch table. He felt a bit tired, and wondered if he could take a quick nap. Danny hated sleeping at the Pizzeria, so he tried to sleep at the library or at school when he could. That gave him enough hours to function, yet usually around lunch he got sleepy and nodded off without actively trying.
“Don’t be, Tim and Connor have their own embarrassing nicknames,’Steph informed him. She gave him a nudge with her elbow,”Wouldn’t want you to be left out.”
Danny laughed,”Does that mean I can give you a nickname too?”
Steph paused in her efforts to climb into the booth at their table without looking at him. “No,” Steph smiled slyly.
“That makes no sense,”Danny huffed. “But fine, I guess I won’t share my amazing nickname skills with you.”
Steph barked out a laugh. “Alright now I’m curious, but hey, are you gonna get lunch?”
“Nah,”Danny waved her off,”Not hungry. Had a big breakfast today.”
Steph squinted at him suspiciously. “That’s what you said yesterday, and then you fell asleep in the middle of our conversation.” Danny made to respond when she continued,”We’re getting worried for you man, you never eat, you look as sleep deprived as Tim, and you never want to hang with us after school.”
“I’m fine!” Danny protested. He knew it looked worrisome from others perspectives, but he really wasn’t hungry. He could probably try to sleep more though. Not to mention that he was trying to not get close to his friends in case he got discovered and had to leave suddenly. Hanging with them outside of school was a sure-fire way for them to get attached. “I’m just, really busy and I don’t like um, cafeteria food.”
It was obvious to both of them that Danny was lying or hiding something, but when Steph was about to say something else, Tim sat down with Connor at the table. Danny was not at all surprised to see a cup of coffee in Tim’s hand. “What’s up?” Tim asked with a raised eyebrow at the tension between the two taller teens in the booth.
“I- “ Danny started, only for Steph to interrupt, much to his mortification.
“Danny’s been avoiding us,”Steph said, not unlike a grade schooler tattling on the teacher. Heat flushed Danny’s face in panic and embarrassment.
“No- no I just dont have a whole lot of time to hang out after school,”Danny defended, crossing his arms. Tim gave Danny a look.
“Oh, so you wouldn’t mind us coming with you after school? You go to the library right?” Tim asked honestly. Danny startled, not expecting that answer.
“Y-yeah but you don't have to come. It’ll be boring, just studying and stuff,” Danny stammered,”I’m sure you guys have better things to do.’
“Not really,”Steph shrugged.
“So we’ll see you after school to head to the library?” Tim asked, and Danny was pretty sure he caught a smile on Tim’s face for a second before it disappeared.
Danny sighed, resting his head on his hand,”Sure, why not.”
-------------------------------------------------
Jason groaned. This kid had absolutely no security system set up in this place. Glancing around the dilapidated Pizzeria, he could admit that not even he would know someone was living here. The kid was good at hiding his stuff.
Oddly enough, after checking the entire ground floor, Jason had to admit the kid did a good job hiding his presence. No disturbed dust, nothing that hinted at a living space or out of place objects. Jason frowned when he pulled down the rackety old attic ladder. A cloud of dust practically followed the whole thing, making Jason think Danny might not have gone up there. He waved his gloved hand to disperse the dust cloud before taking measured steps to the attic.
The place was surprisingly spacious, if not cold from the incoming weather changes. He swore it would start snowing any day now, and his heart sunk at the thought of this kid freezing to death in this place. It was still early morning, since the kid would be at school with Timmy, so he could see some light shining though one window in the corner. There wasn’t enough for him to see clearly though, so he turned on his flashlight, shining it around.
Fighting back a sneeze, he brushed past a few spiderwebs and close to a semi-cleaner space in the attic. His heart sunk at the kid’s set-up. There was a sleeping bag, a few school textbooks, a gym bag full of clothes, a flashlight, and a few prepackaged snacks. No extra blankets, no pillow, no personal items. Jason sighed, thinking about how much worse this kid was doing than he’d thought.
A few things didn’t make sense to Jason though, including how the kid got into gotham prep, or how he could afford food. The kid didn’t look like a street rat, and Jason was pretty sure he wasn’t stealing or selling drugs. Nothing in the cramped living space pointed to that.  He’d make a note to inform Tim and Dick about the kid’s situation, but he figured it was time for him to step in a bit. The kid was on his turf anyway, might as well give him the good ol’ welcome to crime alley speech.
-----------------------------------------------
Danny grasped the straps to his backpack in nervousness, shuffling his feet while he waited for Tim and Steph to show up. And maybe Connor. Danny was pretty sure Connor didn’t like him very much. They’d only shared a few words every now and then. He was also pretty sure Connor and Tim were dating. Maybe.
After five minutes of waiting around, Danny decided to just head to the library by himself. He had to remind himself that he wasn’t getting attached. He didn’t want to put them in danger. Danny was already putting Sam and Tucker in enough danger back home, and he wasn’t even there to protect them. Besides, it was snowing lightly outside, and for regular people like Tim and Steph it would be cold.
“Hey Danny! Wait up!” Danny’s shoulders slumped with dismay. He put on a smile and turned to wave as they came closer.
“I kinda thought you guys weren’t coming,”Danny started, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
“What? No way, Space boy,”Steph said, lightly punching his arm. “We’ve never hung out with you outside of hell. I mean school.”
Danny snorted at that, while Tim added,”Connor can’t make it, but he says to tell you hi.”
“No worries,” Danny waved. “So, library? Do you guys actually have things to study?”
“Duh,”Steph crossed her arms, absently rubbing them now that the cold air reached her. “You were there when Ms. Riley assigned us the Spanish homework.”
“Oh, right,”Danny nodded.
“You any good at spanish?” Tim asked, curious. “Maybe you could help Steph so I don’t have to.”
“You know spanish too?” Danny asked. “I know a bit, I guess it’s easier to learn when you know other languages.”
“Yeah I’m fluent,”Tim stated, giving Danny a weird stare. “What other languages do you know?”
Danny froze for a moment. There was no way he could say he was fluent in ghost speak, because that wouldn’t make any sense at all. Good thing Danny was an expert at lying. Not. ”Uh, no- nothing. I mean english obviously, but only a bit of spanish.”
“Right,”Steph drawled. ‘Well you can still help me with spanish. I know we’re in the higher levels but the tenses still trip me up sometimes.”
At the library, Danny encountered a problem. He usually did his homework and then took a nap for a few hours until closing. There was no doubt that his friends would notice that, and if Danny knew them, then he knew they’d be worried about him and maybe try to kidnap him for a sleepover or something. Which he didn’t want, because he was supposed to be keeping his distance to protect them.
Almost three hours of studying with Tim and Steph flew by, and Danny was starting to yawn uncontrollably. “I should get home, it’s getting late,”Danny yawned, packing up his stuff.
“What? Already?”Steph startled, looking at Tim’s watch. Tim let her, pulling his arm away after a moment.
“Want to get dinner or something?” Tim offered, sharing a look with Steph.
“Nah, I’ll catch you guys at school tomorrow though, if the snow doesn’t cancel it,”Danny smiled. “And it was nice to hang out with you guys. Get home safe, okay?”
Tim nodded absently, and Steph looked like she was going to protest, but Danny scurried out of the library as quick he could. Letting out a sigh of relief that turned into a yawn, he made his way to his usual convenience store for an egg sandwich and a watermelon tea. It was snowing pretty hard at that point, but since he had an ice core it felt more like fresh air to Danny.
Danny ate as he walked, pondering his new schedule for the day. He’d try to catch a few hours of sleep at the pizzeria since he couldn’t get any at the library. Usually he avoided sleeping at the pizzeria, but he was too tired to scope out a different place to nap. Since he didn’t have to sleep more than four hours and eat more than one meal a day, he sometimes forgot he actually needed to sleep. His mandatory hours were usually at the library, in his comfy green bean bag. He missed that bean bag.
Looking around, he put a little bit of a boost into his steps as he climbed over the fence surrounding the place, and snuck into the kitchen area. Once he made it to the back room, he was too tired to go ghost and phase through so he pulled the ladder down, coughing at the dust that fell around him. He put a bit of flight into his steps to make his climb easier, and shut the ladder behind him.
Usually, he could see better in the dark in his ghost form, so it transferred a bit to his human form too. He finished off one of the sandwich halves he was snacking on along the way here and set the other wrapped half and the rest of his tea on the ground next to his stuff. Climbing into his sleeping bag and using his jacket as a pillow, he fell asleep almost instantly.

Stardew Valley Headcannons: First time hanging out (Bachelors)
Warnings:
Hi guys! I wanted to mention a few things. First, some of these turned out a little shorter than the others, sorry about that. Second, I am accepting requests! Rules
—-
Sebastian:
Your first time hanging out with Sebastian was impromptu
You had come over to give him a chunk of quartz that you found in the mines and found him half asleep sat in front of his computer
He didn’t respond to you knocking on his door so you cracked open his door cautiously
“Sebastian? You in here?”
When he didn’t answer again you took a step inside, any anxiety easing away as you see him passed out from working so hard
Even though his job didn’t require hard labor like working on the farm, you still felt like he deserved a break from how hard he worked on coding
With a bit of protest, you manage to get Sebastian out of the house and in one of the booths at the saloon
The two do you talk for a while, eating while gradually getting more comfortable with each other
He would talk about his programming and gaming hobbies, while you talked to him about life in the city and why you moved onto the farm
At the end of the night he would walk you to the edge of town, thanking you for helping him relax before awkwardly trying to figure out if he should hug you or not
You take the lead and hug him, feeling his body relax into the gesture as a soft smile lays on his face
Robin 100% teases him when he comes home after dark from hanging out with you
Sam:
As is to be expected, your first time hanging out with Sam was when he showed you his music
He had invited you over to listen to one of his songs, taking you into his room and setting up his guitar
It’s definitely awkward at first
I mean it’s your first time hanging out alone and it’s in his room?
Yeah if Jodi saw you going in she would exit the house immediately, thinking something else was going to happen
I mean, would you complain if it did?
After awhile Sam flops down on his bed, and the two of you begin talking about the most random things
Anything that comes to mind is discussed as the two of you quickly become comfortable in each other’s company
He invites you to stay for dinner, but you politely decline and head back home, not wanting the embarrassment of Jodi’s misunderstanding hanging around at the dinner table
Shane:
Your first time hanging out with Shane came much later than with the other bachelors
It takes awhile for him to warm up to people, especially enough to actually hang out with them
So it makes sense when he avoids your invitations with lame excuses or even straight up rejection
One day though, he feels guilty for always saying no and shows up outside your door in a tank top and shorts, asking you to teach him how to care for plants
The two of you end up working together essentially all morning, you showing him how to plant seeds properly and telling him how often to water the plants
At noon you check the time and realize how long he’s been out working alongside you and invite him into your house for lunch
He almost declines, but seeing your expectant face broke him
“Sure, yeah, why not?”
The two of you share a bit of conversation while eating, Shane becoming more comfortable with you but still not spilling his troubles to you, that would come another day
Once he leaves you find yourself spacing off throughout the rest of the day, wondering why he came around to help you, but thankful for the chance to spend time with him
Elliot:
Your first time hanging out with Elliot started at the library
You found him reading a novel in the afternoon and decided to sit across from him
The two of you exchanged a short ‘hello’ before going back to reading
You both sat there in comfortable silence for hours, so caught up in your books that it felt like you were in your own little world
After awhile though, your aching body told you that it was time to get up
This caught Elliot’s attention, his eyes glancing at you before he marks his page with a bookmark
“Care for a stroll?“
You nod, the both of you leaving the library and walking towards the beach, and in turn Elliot’s house
You thought he was going to just go in and go to bed, but to your surprise he instead removed his shoes and walked over to the shore, walking along the water
After a moment of him looking at you expectantly, you followed suit and walked along the beach alongside him
It was mostly quiet, but the sound of the waves crashing and the crickets chirping made up for the silence when the two of you weren’t talking
The night ends on a peaceful note, but the warm fuzzy feeling in your heart leaves you blushing the whole way home
Harvey:
The first time hanging out with Harvey is probably in his clinic
Not as in a patient checkup
No, you just come in to say hi every morning and decided to stick around a little longer since nobody was coming in
It isn’t like Harvey wouldn’t have wanted to hang out somewhere else, he was just far too shy to ask
Anyway, you stay there for a little while, asking him about his work and getting him to get comfortable with you gradually
It isn’t the most interesting time of your life, but listening to him ramble out answers about what certain tools are used for what and that sort of thing make up for it
Before you leave Harvey finally musters up some courage, croaking out “Hey, do you want to go to the saloon sometime? With me?”
Of course you say yes, then continue on your way, not noticing the blush that was covering Harvey’s face
Alex:
Your first time hanging out with Alex also happens on the beach
You didn’t plan it out or anything, you both just happened to go out on the same day
He “accidentally” throws a beach ball at you, using it as an excuse to come up to you
“So sorry about that man, but uhm… can I just say you look amazing in that swimsuit?”
Massive flirt
You sit next to each other on the beach for a bit, talking about anything
And eventually he gets you to come into the water, ending in a huge splashing fight with lots of laughter
It’s an amazingly fun time, and even cooler getting to see Alex’s more genuine side

Get Got
Rose Lavelle x Morgan!Reader
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: The way Alex’s Snacks episode instantly inspired a couple fics...
[WOSO Masterlist]
Rose has been squirrely since you got up this morning.
After your late night in LA you decided you deserved to sleep in a bit, given your practice had been moved to the afternoon. This meant that Rose, ever the morning person she is, was already up and running around the house by the time you graced her with your presence.
Blinking owlishly, you yawn out a “good morning” and give her a kiss when she presses a warm mug of coffee into your hands.
“Sleep well?” she asks, fingers toying with the ends of your hair.
You hum in response, not missing the way her feet are tapping at the ground around you. The last time she was this full of energy she kept you in bed for nearly an entire day, only letting you out of the room when you finally tapped out, body fully cramped out by all of the pleasure she was happily giving you. But given that you had to be at training in less than an hour, you knew neither of you had time to work out all of her energy.
Rose hasn’t seen much of the field after returning from camp with a bit of a leg problem, so it made sense that she seemed to have so much energy. What didn’t make sense is the way she keeps switching through the songs on your brief drive over to training. Or the way she can’t seem to sit still in the locker room.
Even Megan seems to be taken off guard, throwing her sock at Rose’s forehead the third time your girlfriend runs a lap around everyone as you all change into your workout gear.
“Have you listened to Sammy’s podcast yet?”
Her comment comes just as you trudge onto the field, lightly jogging your warm up.
You shake your head, laughing at the crinkle between her eyebrows. “Babe, I’ve been with you all morning.” You briefly remember your sister telling you something about finally being invited onto your friends’ podcast, but to be honest you hadn’t really planned on listening to her episode until later in the week during your free time. Obviously you wouldn’t plan on skipping it, but the two of you had your own lives, not everything you did had to revolve around each other.
Before you can ask Rose about her question, Sonnett’s crashing your solitude, throwing an arm around each of your shoulders. “How are my favorite midfielders on this fine April day?”
“Don’t let Lindsey hear you say that,” you snort, shrugging the blonde’s arm off of you.
Sonnett looks like she’s about to say something else, but a quick elbow into her gut by Rose quickly shuts her up. You frown, tilting your head in question at your girlfriend, but she pretends not to notice, starting on a random tangent.
You don’t have a chance to question either of them, as Laura’s quick to call in the team and start doling out exercises.
By the time someone else brings up Sam and Lynn’s podcast, you had already forgotten about Rose’s weird behavior.
It’s near the end of practice. Half of the girls were already back inside, getting iced and doing a quick recovery session. You and some of the others had stuck around to help clean up the field before heading their way.
Sofia slinks up next to you, handing you one of the cones on the ground. You give her a nod in thanks, quick to move onto the next cone.
“Did you know you’re dating an evil mastermind?” Sofia chuckles.
You’re not really sure what prompted her to say that, but you can’t help but laugh and give her a grin. “Tell me something I don’t know. Rose is an evil mastermind but at least she’s an evil mastermind who loves me and wouldn’t dare to prank me lest I make her sleep on the couch.”
You love Rose for so many reasons. Like almost too many to count. But that girl was a bit of a monster when it comes to pulling pranks on all of your friends. The couple of years before you officially began dating was a bit rough, you not ever knowing if you would be met with “friend” Rose or “in a pranking mood” Rose every time you saw each other. It’s been three years since, and “girlfriend” Rose was much more likely to treat you to chocolates and flowers than try to pull a quick one on you.
“What a shame her leniency doesn’t extend to the rest of your family.”
When you look at her with a confused face, Sofia’s quick to meet your expression with one of her own. “I’m assuming you haven’t listened to Alex’s Snacks episode yet?”
When you shake your head, she’s quick to pull out her phone. You’re a bit amused to see the episode sitting paused in her Spotify, but she must’ve been listening to it before coming to practice.
Sofia rewinds a little bit, having nearly finished the episode already.
You’re greeted with your sister’s raspy voice as she presses play.
It’s all the typical stuff you were expecting. Some talk about Taylor Swift, Alex’s favorite songs from her album, Rose’s obsession with Taylor Swift conspiracies--
And that’s when you hear it.
“Yeah, but you can’t ever trust what she says. Like do you think she’s telling the truth?”
“Hot take, you can’t trust Rose.”
By the time Alex’s done detailing her run-in with Rose and Sonnett during camp, you’re laughing so hard that you have to wipe tears from your eyes.
It’s often a rarity for you to not be in camp, but you had missed this past one due to a slight injury that’s been healed since. Everyone’s been home for a couple of days now, but this is the first time you’re hearing about any pranks being pulled against Alex.
“Did she actually--” you question, still trying to catch your breath.
Sofia nods, still grinning like crazy. “Alex got a little pouty when she realized they were playing her.”
Sometimes Rose and Alex’s relationship made you want to laugh. When Rose first met your sister she was terrified. Not even dating yet at that point, you had to reassure Rose time and time again that Alex didn’t hate her. And look at them now. Now most times you have to reassure Alex that Rose didn’t have it out to get her.
It’s all done in good spirit, but it looks like you’re going to have to convince Alex not to eye your girlfriend with distrust again the next time you’re all in the same room.
The two of you are still joking about it when you roll into the recovery room.
It’s a bit cute how Rose perks up when she sees you, hands instantly making a grabby motion. Sofia takes one look at the brunette before breaking out into laughter again, pushing you towards your girlfriend before going to the other side of the room.
Rose frowns after the defender, unfortunately still stuck in her compression boots. She opens her mouth to question Sofia, but you press a kiss to her forehead before she can say anything.
Your kiss does its job, pulling Rose’s attention back to you.
Although she looks up at you lovingly, she’s quick to narrow her eyes at the amusement dancing around your face. “Okay, what did Sof tell you.”
“Babe, you and Sonny need to stop tormenting Al.”
“Alex needs tougher skin,” she snorts in response, instantly knowing what you’re referring to.
“She got got!” Sonnett adds, throwing her arms up in celebration.
You roll your eyes in amusement. “Go away, Son.” You turn back to Rose. She’s looking a little smug at successfully fooling your sister again. “Don’t go acting like you weren’t terrified of her when I was introducing you as my girlfriend for the first time.”
“Alex is scary,” Rose nods. But the smirk is quick to come back. “Until she isn’t.”
Sonnett lets out a hoot in agreement, giving Rose a fist bump.
Sometimes you wonder why you’re friends with literal children.
And then you remember that children are fun to fool with too, and it makes everything so much better.
“You know, she’s not wholly convinced that you aren’t dating me as some way to prank her.”
It takes a second for your words to sink in, but when they finally do, Rose is sitting up in alarm. “Wait, what.”
You let out a hum as you stand up to go to your own table.
“That’s a joke, right?” she nervously chuckles, unable to go after you while she still has the boots on.
With your back to her, you don’t have to worry about hiding your grin. All she can see is your shoulders as you shrug, making your way to the other side of the room.
“Babe! That’s a joke, right?!” Rose’s half terrified voice follows after you.
Alex is going to have a field day when you tell her about this later.

Dr. Monster
(Sam x Dean x Cas x Reader)
Chapter 2: “The Prophecy”
🩷•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••🩷
Should be a longer storyline. Has a bit of a mystery aspect to it. Specific chapters will be for certain romantic interests which I will put in the beginning of each chapter. This story is about (Y/N). Think of it as an entire season about YOU! Still developing a storyline but has lots of ideas. Will have to rewatch some seasons to get the lore right. Debating if I want to “spoil it” in the description of what the fanfic is about or leave it a mystery. I think I’m going to set the story around season 7-8 but of course I’m changing up some of the things that happen so it will be off script from the original spn show.
I’m going to switch to second person rather than third. Easier to write when it’s in (Y/N)’s POV.
Saving people, killings things, it’s the family business. During one of Sam and Dean’s hunts, they came across a small town in Oregon. Strange encounters happen is this town frequently, however there hasn’t been any killings or missing persons until now.The boys find their way to a veterinary hospital and find the cause of it…
Tumblr media
🩷•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••🩷
The group arrives back to the hospital. The boys follow you to your office. “This town has many supernatural beings in it. None of them would hurt any of the people here. We all work together to make this community safe. All of them here have nothing to go back to. They either lost their homes, families, or they were turned forcefully. They all came to me for help. I provide them medical care if they were hurt, jobs, a new life. In exchange, they protect us.” You say.
“Was that woman last night also supernatural?” Dean asks.
“Whoever is killing these people specifically know that they are supernatural.” You sigh. “Maybe it’s a hunter?”
“Or another supernatural being.” Castiel replies, “I feel a presence here, something strong.”
“I feel it too. Ever since the night at the diner, the energy in this place has been off. Like somethings here…watching us.” You add on.
“That makes no sense though. Another monster killing monsters?” Sam says.
“We killed the bitch, Eve.” Dean sighs, “Sent her ass back to purgatory. None of her freak shows should be around anymore. Unless some flew under the radar.”
You gasp, “Eve?” You’ve met a woman named Eve before. Dark brown hair, green eyes wearing a white dress. She came to the diner one night, asking about this town- she never been here before. Her presence was off, making you nervous as you talked to her. She was scary, demented almost. She talked like a serial killer would. That was many months ago, however that encounter you remember like it was yesterday. Prior to Eve visiting your town, you were already involved with the supernatural. However, you’ve also been different since your encounter with Eve. Visions, actually feeling the presence of monsters, sometimes even seeing demons true faces. You’ve never dove into your new abilities, as it scared you. Are you a monster too?
🩷•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••🩷
THEN:
Tumblr media
“Excuse me ma’am?” The woman places a hand on your shoulder. A shiver runs through your entire body when she touched you. It almost stung. You gasp out, confused from the sudden sensation. You turn around facing the unknown woman, setting (your fav drink) down onto the bar counter. You look at the woman, she wears a white dress with no shoes on, hair clearly not brushed for a while. “Are you okay?” You ask her.
“I’m Eve.” She says, doing a closed mouth smile staring at you.
“Uh yeah nice to meet you.” You say, creeped out by the situation. “How can I help you?” Looking around the bar, trying to see an escape out.
“I was told to come find you. I heard you help some of my children out.” Eve continues to smile, “I’m so thankful for you. Even monsters deserve someone to care for them.”
Your eyes widen, who is this?
“Don’t be scared, (Y/N). I’m not here to hurt you. I’m just trying to show you some gratitude.” Eve chuckles. “I’ll make sure that you’re protected. A war is coming.” Eve says. “Between everyone. Watch out for yourself.” Eve stands up to leave, touching your hand. “Besides, you’re one of my children now.”
🩷•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••🩷
NOW:
“You’ve spoke to Eve?” Cas asks, wide eyed.
“Holy shit.” Dean gasps. “You’re the person they were talking about in purgatory. They were saying that she’s our savior. That every monster is going to be back on Earth because of you.”
“What the hell?” Sam asks, incredibly confused.
“Hold on a second. I know what’s going on.” Cas speaks up. “Whoever is killing your friends, is actually out to get you. A lot of the monsters wanted to stay in purgatory.”
“So basically…whoever is this is coming to get me because I’m some sort of savior? That’s ridiculous.” You laugh nervously, “There is absolutely no way that I would ever let monsters out of purgatory.”
“This makes no sense.” Sam says looking at you with puppy dog eyes.
You clear your throat after making eye contact with him. He’s so handsome.
“Hold on a second. Everything is coming together now. We need to talk to Kevin. (Y/N) are you up for a road trip?”
“Who’s Kevin?” You ask, mind racing and twirling around.
“He’s a prophet of the lord.” Castiel says blankly.
“Ok first an angel, now a prophet…please don’t tell me God is real too?!” You exclaim, hands shaking.
The boys look over at each other with a shrug. “Yeah uh, his name is Chuck.” Sam chuckles.
You sigh, placing your hands down on the desk while looking down. Everything has just gotten so much more complicated.
Dean and Castiel watch outside while Sam stays with you as you pack up your things. He stood against the door frame, trying not to watch you too intently, however he couldn’t look away from you.
“I never thought I’d be in this situation.” You say, grabbing some clothes and stuffing them into a suitcase. Sam looks away as he sees you stuffing your panties into the side of it, barely fitting.
Sam gets out of his trance, “uh yeah. I mean how did you even get yourself into all this? Helping monsters?” Sam asks, looking at you intently, wanting to listen to you as you talked.
“Long story short, a shapeshifter saved me. Really bad car crash. Had to go to the hospital and they drove me there. When I saw them again, they were in another skin- ya know wanting to stay low radar. I started to look up the supernatural and I noticed it was all around me. Something about this town is special.” You say, looking at Sam.
“Not all monsters are evil.” Sam laughs, “I once fell in love with a werewolf…and a demon.” He scratches his head. “The demon was definitely evil.”
“Been there done that.” You laugh, recalling previous romantic encounters with supernatural beings. “How’d you get into hunting?”
“Well-“ Sam stops his sentence, hearing a scream from outside. “Pack your things now.” Sam runs over to the window and looks out. Dean and Castiel are fighting somebody.
“Shit.” You hiss out, hands shaking. You close you suitcase and grab your gun, cocking it back. Sam looks back at you and nods. The two of you run out to the Impala where Dean and Castiel are fighting. Your vision becomes blurry as you look at the faces of the people. Demons. Your head hurts and the back of your eyes sting, Sam grabs you by your shoulders and rushes you over to the car.
“Let’s go!” Dean yells, throwing himself into the driver seat, Sam and Castiel joining. You and Sam share the backseat as Cas is up front with Dean.
“What the hell was that?!” You scream out, “Are demons after me?”
“Maybe the demons are working for something.” Cas sighs looking back at you. “We need to get somewhere safe.”
“We’re heading to the bunker now. Kevin is meeting us there.” Dean says, driving faster.
•••
The team stops at a motel for the night. Sam puts together demon warding around the motel while Cas takes care of the look out. “So it looks like there’s only one bed.” Dean looks at you and smirks. You laugh, slightly charmed by Dean’s character. His smile was enchanting. You would never admit this, but his smile made your panties wet. His voice, his body, his eyes are all too much for you to handle. You know you shouldn’t think these dirty thoughts about him but you can’t stop. Looking at his lips and then back at his eyes you smile, “Looks like you and Sam can share the bed and I’ll take the couch.” You place a hand on his shoulder and bite your lip, dragging your suitecase to the couch.
“I would rather sleep on the floor.” Sam comments, pushing hair out of his face.
“Oh please I’m a pleasure to sleep with.” Dean winks at you.
“I’m sure you hear that all the time.” You laugh and shake your head. Sam seemed almost angry watching Dean flirt with you.
“Please take the bed. Dean can take the floor and I can lay on the couch.” Sam says.
“That sounds perfect.” You smile at Sam, smirking at Dean as his mouth is agape. Sam and Dean’s eyes watch you as you go from one side of the room to the other. You felt like you were walking weird from the eyes staring. However it did put a strange sense of confidence in you.
That night you couldn’t sleep. Many things were on your mind. Demons, angels, purgatory, God…what will happen when you see this Kevin person. What is your role in all of this? Not to mention the three handsome, sexy men that are taking you on this journey that kind of seem into you. What will happen next?

Caught In A Web ~ 12
CAUGHT IN A WEB MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
< previous chapter
Word Count: 1,850ish
Summary: An old friend of Tony's reaches out. You miss swinging around the city.
Notes: I know it's been far too long. I'm slowly coming back into writing. I hope this isn't complete crap. Any comments, reblogs, and asks are so appreciated!
Bruce had entered his and Tony’s shared lab six minutes ago, with even FRIDAY announcing him, and Tony still hadn’t noticed. Tony was standing in front of the wall of windows that allowed Tony to see down into the common area. It was clear to Bruce that Tony was staring at you.
Your secret had come out five weeks ago and the whole Team had made sure that you felt safe and welcome. With the secret out, your walls began coming down more and more with members of the Team. You spent time with everyone on the Team, but no one got more of your time than Tony. The two of you were still moving slowly into your relationship, in which you could tell that Tony was getting a bit antsy about. But he wasn’t going to push you to do anything that you weren’t ready for.
You were currently down in the common room with Sam and Bucky, talking and laughing. Tony hands were clasped behind his back as he blankly stared at you. Bruce took a few steps in and cleared his throat, only for Tony to again do nothing.
“You know,” Bruce said as he finally decided to stand by his friend, “she can probably sense you staring at her.” Tony didn’t respond. Bruce glanced down at what Tony was staring at. “There’s no need to worry about Sam and Bucky.”
“I’m not worried about them,” Tony mumbled, signaling to Bruce that Tony had just been ignoring him.
“Then what’s going on?”
Tony sighed, shoulders slumping slightly. “It’s Pepper.”
“Pepper?”
“She left a message.”
“Oh?”
“She wants to meet up and talk.”
“And how do you feel about that?”
“I know I need to go and see what she wants but, I also don’t want to go at all.”
“How does Y/N feel about it?
“I haven’t talked to her yet…. About anything Pepper, honestly… Bruce, I… I thought that I would never be able to love again after her. I believed that… Well, she did a number on me.”
“That’s well known information around here.”
“I just… I can’t mess this one up. What Y/N and I have… it’s so different.”
“Good different?”
“Great different.” A smile crossed Tony’s lips. “I’m just getting scared that I’ll mess this up.”
“Tony,” Bruce placed a hand on Tony’s nearest shoulder, causing Tony to finally look at him. “You’re bound to mess it up in some way.”
“Wow,” Tony pulled away. He turned around and walked toward his workspace. “Thanks, buddy. And here I thought that you were on my side.”
“Tony, I am. All I’m saying is that you’re bound to mess something up in your relationship, same with Y/N. I’m not talking anything major, simply the little things. And when those do come up, I don’t see anything that Y/N won’t forgive you for and vice-versa.” Bruce could see that his friend’s mind was still running with all the negative possibilities. “I know that Pepper and you fought a lot, especially the last years you were together. We all heard the fighting more than we cared to admit. We saw the way she treated you and began to control you. She put all the blame on you, for everything. We watched it take a toll on you, even after Pepper left. You weren’t fully yourself… until Y/N swung into your life.” Tony’s lips perked up. “Pun intended… I can’t promise that you and Y/N will be forever, though however much we all hope it’s heading that way. But I will forever be thankful for Y/N. The whole Team will. She brought the Tony we all loved back.”
“She’s so special, Bruce,” Tony smiled, thinking about you. “She deserves the world.”
“I know. But remember that she’s with you for you, not the world. Also, don’t keep that Pepper contacted you a secret. Y/N needs to know that side of you too.”
~~~
As evening came, you found yourself on the roof of the Tower. You stared out at the skyline of New York City. Your left hand was gently massaging your right wrist as the place where your webs exited from tingled. You had barely used your abilities in the weeks since your secret had come out to the Team. You didn’t know you would miss swinging so much. It hadn’t been a part of your life for long and yet you seemed to long for it.
FRIDAY had informed Tony that you were up on the roof when he went to see if you wanted dinner. When the elevator opened and revealed you staring at the skyline, Tony knew what you were missing. He had been worried about when you would start longing for swinging around again and prepared for it.
You had sensed Tony’s entrance and glanced back at him as he came toward you. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you back into his chest. He pressed a kiss behind your ear before sighing and looking out at the view. The two of you stood in silence for a couple of moments before Tony spoke up.
“You miss it,” he stated softly.
“Hmm?” You hummed, still focused on the skyline.
“Swinging around the city, helping people. You miss it.”
You sighed, leaning back into Tony. “I didn’t think I would, at least not this much…”
“I get it.”
You turned around in Tony’s arms so that you were facing him. “You do?”
He nodded. “I do. There was a short time that I gave up the suits for—” Tony stopped himself. The two of you hadn’t really talked about Pepper yet. He was too scared to ruin what you had.
You looked at him with a caring smile. “It’s okay. You can talk about her. She was a big part of your life.”
A wave a relief washed over Tony. “Pepper didn’t like how often I was in the lab and how many suits I was making. I stopped for a while, but it wasn’t what was good for me. I’m not going to ask you to give up a part of yourself. That’s not who I am.” Tony unwrapped his arms from you and slipped one of his hands into yours. “Come,” he began pulling you toward the elevator. “We need to pack bags and head out.”
“Where are we going?”
“Upstate.”
~~~
Tony didn’t tell you anything but that he was taking you upstate and that you needed to back a bag to be gone for one to two days. After you had packed up, you met Tony in the garage and you two headed on your way.
The whole ride, the two of you sat in content silence. Tony’s hand rested on your thigh with your hand on top of his, your fingers pushed through his. You had a hunch as to where Tony was taking you: the Compound. Tony had once told you that the Avengers plan to eventually move to the Compound officially, but have been waiting for the right time. You believed that ‘right time’ meant when Director Fury gave the orders.
The Compound’s grounds where massive. At the edge of the grounds was a large, electric fence. There was one gate in and out, though the back side of the Compound was along the river, Tony told you that there was sensors in the water and along the shoreline to keep unwanted guests out. Tony followed the road heading to the building until he suddenly took a right turn, heading into the nearby group of trees.
“Seriously, Tony, where are you taking me?” You asked again.
He smirked to himself. “Just a few more seconds,” he mumbled. “There.”
The car came to a stop at the edge of a clearing. In the clearing, poles of various heights and widths were placed. Some even had smaller poles welded onto them horizontally.
“What is this?” You wondered.
“You’re new playground,” Tony answered. He got out of the car and rushed around it to open your door. “Milady,” he offered his hand to you. You smiled as you took it and allowed him to help you out of the car.
“This is all…” you looked around at various structures. “Did you build this all for me?”
“I knew it wouldn’t be too long before you were craving to swing again, so I had this built.” You looked at Tony, in awe that someone would have something built just for you. “What’s wrong?” Tony suddenly took your silence and your staring as that he had overstepped. “Do you not like it? Cause I can have it all taken down by the end of the day. Just say the word and I’ll—“
You laughed as you pressed your hand to Tony’s mouth to stop him from rambling. “I love it. Thank you.” You removed your hand and gave him a short kiss. “Thank you for caring about me. It means so much.”
“I’d do anything for you, sweetheart, give you anything— everything.”
“I don’t need everything, Tony. I just need you.”
Tony thought his heart was going to explode. It was the closest thing to saying ‘I love you’ that either of you had gotten. And, your words proved that Bruce was right.
“I just need you too,” Tony said, before kissing you.
You were the one to break the kiss, getting excited to try out the new structure. “I’m sorry,” you told Tony, trying to suppress your smile. “But I—“
“Go,” Tony encouraged, “go play with your new toy.”
“Thank you!” You kissed him briefly one last time before running over.
Flinging your arm out, a web shot from your wrist and clung to one of the post rungs. You laughed as you used it to launch yourself into the air. You swung around, laughing and cheering. Tony watched, unable to contain the grin as he leaned against his car. Some time had past when his phone beeped. Tony pulled it out of his pocket. At the sight of the name on the screen, his grin fell. It was Pepper, wondering when they were going to meet up to talk. Tony sighed, looking back up at you. He wasn’t going to answer Pepper until he talked to you about it. He wasn’t going to do anything that you weren’t comfortable with.
Suddenly, you landed in front of Tony. He stuffed his phone back in his pocket before looking up at you. You had the largest smile he had ever seen on you. You were slightly out of breath, but simply glowing.
“Tony,” your tone was already hinting at a request coming on.
“Yes?” He replied.
“Will you get in your suit and fly me around?”
Tony smiled, leaning into you and kissing you briefly. “Of course.” He tapped a few times on his watch screen and in no time, a suit was flying over from the Compound. It opened up and Tony quickly stepped in. You hurried over and flung yourself on his back. “You ready?” He glanced over his shoulder.
“Always.”

It’s been a long day. The longest day, and it wasn’t even over yet.
The night before spilled into the earliest hours of this morning, your time spent twisted in between the sheets with the woman you’ve been waiting for. The sound of your alarm blaring would come too quickly, harshly pulling you back to reality.
Today when you wake up though, you feel like you’re still in a dream. Your eyes flutter open to find her still curled next to you, her fingertips running across your body causing goosebumps to rise in the places left behind. You take a deep breath and the remnants of her perfume clouds your senses. You are absolutely positive it does not get better than this. Starting your morning this way is enough to get you through today’s session. With the promise of seeing her later, you head to the studio, hoping that you’re not the last one there.
The entire drive you can’t help but smile from ear to ear, reminiscing on the events from the night prior. You replay her giggles, you wish you could hear that sound every day for the rest of your life. Your cheeks start to heat thinking about the way she got brave after a few drinks. Beginning to touch you more often, intentionally brushing her thigh against yours, moving her face dangerously closer and closer to yours while staring at your mouth. You hope these memories will stay in your mind forever, like a film, just for you to press play when you need it.
Finally you arrive to the studio and realize that you are in fact the last one there, but you don’t dare explain why. The smile plastered to your face should explain enough. As you step into the sound booth, everyone stares at you questioningly.
Jake stares at you, silently asking what you’re so chipper about, you responding in your head, and as if he could hear you he raises his eyebrows with a nod.
Sam looks puzzled sitting on the couch, not caring enough to pry, and Daniel…won’t even look at you.
What’s eating him?
“Well, are you ready to get this over with?” Danny asks the group.
“Let’s do it.” Sam replies.
The day goes relatively smoothly. You re-record the chorus of a song, as Sam sits at the mixer. Danny comes over the intercom, “Josh that sounded like shit, lets re-cut it.” He says harshly.
“Um, typically its me criticizing myself…and I thought that was a pretty good take…” you reply defensively.
“No, it wasn’t, just do it again.” He snaps.
What the hell? Apparently he is still in a mood. He was quiet at the bar last night.
“Okay, Sam, can you run the track back please, seems I am ‘doing it again’...” You say snidely.
After a little bit of back and forth, things seemed to mellow out for the rest of the day, but you can tell something has Danny pissed off, and you have all been walking on eggshells around him all day. You decide to confront him as you begin to wrap up for the day.
“Hey man, is everything okay, you seem…volatile.” You question.
“Oh, no Josh everything is just perfect, really…” he says sarcastically.
You give him an insulted look and shrug your shoulders, walking away.
Jeez, whatever it is, he does not want to talk about it. Fine.
You brush it off and decide to move on. You’re still reeling from the best night of your life, you aren’t going to let your moody friend put a damper on it. You don’t deserve to deal with his bullshit anyway, it’s not like it’s your fault he’s having a bad day.
You feel a twinge of nervous excitement in your chest as you realize you’ll see your girl shortly. There is no better feeling than seeing her after a long day, but this time it’s different. She really is your girl and now that you’ve had her, you’re never letting her go.
Okay, Josh. Just have to play it cool with the guys for a bit, let them warm up to the idea. Maybe I’ll start flirting in front of them a bit. Let them see us in action so it’s less of a surprise.
As you get in your car the nerves begin to fill your chest. The drive over isn’t too long, part of the reason you always go there. At first it was just easy to go where Jake and the guys wanted to go, but then as you got to know her… it changed. You wanted to go there, you wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.
Why are you so nervous? You see her every single day… You were naked in her bed together less than 12 hours ago, get it together man.
As you roll into the gravel parking lot, you take a deep centering breath, throw your door open and step out. The rest of the guys pull up around the same time, rowdy as usual, ready to have a drink and unwind.
You all clamber inside the front door, the little bell ringing over head, a sound you’ve grown to love. As everyone rushes straight to our usual table, you look over to the left and there she is, both hands on the bar top, leaning against it with a smile as she sees you all coming in.
She is so breathtaking. I hope she never stops greeting me with that smile, it’s intoxicating.
“I’ll grab the first round boys, the usual?” You ask, as they continue walking, nodding their heads in agreement.
Ready to rip the band-aid off, you walk over to the bar with a sheepish smile on your face. Holding your hands together nervously.
Somehow she is even more beautiful now than she was before.
“Hello, doll…” you say with a smile, finally making eye contact with her.
“Well hello stranger…” she says playfully, giggling out of obvious nerves, her cheeks blushing slightly.
“Sounds like we are all up for the usual tonight.” You say.
“I think I can do that.” She says reaching over to grab a few glasses.
“Did you guys have a good day?” She asks, making the drinks.
You bring your hands up to cradle your cheeks, your elbows that are placed on the bar top supporting the weight of your head. “Yeah it was…an interesting day for sure.” You reply, pondering.
“Really? Why does it seem like a bad thing?” She asks.
“Ahh, just band stuff… not everyone got to wake up to you this morning.” You reply, flirting a little.
You see her swallow and blink forcefully.
Okay, maybe laying it on a little too thick, reel it back dude. She hasn’t even said anything about it yet, you need to slow down.
“Well, I’m sure these will help…” she says pushing the drinks forward.
You smile at her and nod, taking the drinks back to the table and setting them down. Trying not to overthink whatever interaction just happened.
Hoping to deescalate some of Daniel’s tension you pat him on the back and hand him his drink.
“You did great today dude, this is gonna be our best one yet. I just know it.” You say.
He picks up the glass and throws back the entirety of the Whiskey.
Damn, I haven’t even sat down yet…
“You good, Daniel? I haven’t even taken a sip yet…” Sam laughs as he brings the bottle of beer to his lips.
“Yeah man… didn’t get much sleep last night. Counting on a whiskey slumber tonight.” Danny replies, with an edge on his voice.
Jake shoots you a curious look, and you slightly shake your head insinuating that you have no idea what’s going on. Sam looks at you the same way.
Why would I know?
Suddenly you see Sam’s face change as an idea crosses his mind.
“Hey, pretty lady!” Sam stands up and yells across the bar, hoping to grab her attention. Her eyes landing directly on him, never faltering.
“My friend Daniel here, needs a refill, already! I think there was a hole in his glass. Why don’t we do a round of shots too, I think we could all use a night of fun.” he wiggles his eyebrows and laughs as he sits back down.
She nods her head and begins making the shots, lining up the glasses and pouring in the alcohol. She then mixes a few more drinks, shaking the metal shaker, looking directly at you, a sudden warmth creeping across your chest.
You turn back to the guys, so not to be obviously staring at her.
“You really just cant go one night without making us all suffer, huh Sammy?” Jake jokes.
Sam shrugs his shoulder and bounces his legs excitedly as she begins to walk over to the table with the tray.
“Alright! Hey! Have a shot with us!” Sam pleads with her, she looks torn on whether she should or not, you can see it on her face.
What is up with her tonight? Just this morning you were on cloud nine. Or at least you were… is she regretting it already?
“Here, you can have mine. Doesn’t mix well with my beer.” Jake says, handing her his glass.
Sam raises his eyebrows as he begins his toast, “To the best bartender around…”
Everyone tips their shot glasses back, swallowing down the spicy liquid.
“Bartending isn’t the only thing she’s known for around here, huh?” Daniel says, under his breath.
What the fuck does that mean?
Daniels eyes are staring daggers directly into her, and she looks shocked at the harshness of his statement, you still unsure of what is going on. He is practically shaking with anger.
You can’t let him attack her, he can say whatever he wants to you, but not her.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You ask confrontationally.
“Well, I mean she is pretty good lay, too. At least I think so… What do you think, Josh? Saw your car at her apartment before the sun came up this morning. Did she fuck you so good? Fuck you right to sleep? She’s good at that.” he asks pointedly at you, letting out a small scoff.
What? How would he….wait…Her and Danny? They hate each other….oh god.
When would they have gotten together? How long has it been going on? Why does it hurt as bad as it does? Why is he doing this now? In front of the guys? Fuck this.
Trying to ignore the pain in your chest and your mind racing a million miles a minute, you narrow your eyes at him.
“Danny. I think you need to shut your fucking mouth. Now. Before you say anything else that you’ll regret. We can talk about this in private. Not here.” You snap at him.
“No, I think we should all talk now. That way Jake and Sammy can know what they are getting themselves into if she tries to go four for four with us.” He replies, bitterness lining every word.
Holy shit, he is really trying to cut her deep. He is pissed.
“Go on… Tell them how we’ve been fucking for weeks. Sneaking around after hours…
Pretending to hate each other, while we fuck our brains out behind closed doors. Tell poor Josh here, that he isn’t the only one who has been inside you lately. Whore…” he says, practically spitting venom.
You feel a pang in your chest as the words leave his mouth.
Weeks? How did you not know?
You slept together… why didn’t she…say something. Oh god, I told her how bad I’ve wanted her. That I’ve been thinking about it for so long. This explains why she is acting the way she is. It wasn’t supposed to happen. At least not in her mind.
You look to her as the shot glass in her hand falls and shatters to the floor. Her breathing is rapid and her eyes beginning to fill with tears. Despite your anger and embarrassment you want to grab her, steal her away from this. But you cant, your head is spinning and you aren’t sure what to do but you know that you absolutely cannot let him talk to her like this. Not ever. You quickly stand up and tower over Danny, getting as close to his face as you can.
“Don’t you ever speak like that to her again. Especially here?! Where she fucking WORKS?! This is exactly why you will never be with her, dude. You are a fucking dick. Why would she want to be with someone who isn’t even man enough to treat her with respect?  Get a fucking grip. This conversation is finished, the three of us can continue it elsewhere.” You yell, overcome with emotion.
You feel tears forming in your own eyes, you can’t tell if it’s because you’re mad, hurt, embarrassed… maybe all three. Her eyes meet yours for a second before you tear them away from hers.
You don’t want her to see you upset.
How could you be so stupid to think she wanted you the way you wanted her.
Struggling to get the words out you turn to your twin, needing to get out of there quickly,
“Jake, can you get the tab? I need to go.” you manage to say, unable to hide the emotion in your voice.
Jake nods and motions towards the door, you know he can tell that you’re upset, feel it even. He doesn’t dare ask. You throw back the rest of the drink in your glass, grab your keys off the table and walk straight out the door without a look back.
As you reach your car you fling the door open and get inside slamming the it behind you.
“Fuck” you yell, hitting the steering wheel with both hands. You place your elbows on the wheel, resting your head in your hands. You sit there just for a moment, trying to process everything that just happened.
She’s been sleeping with Daniel for weeks. She didn’t tell you and slept with you. Danny found out and he is furious. Well, now you’re furious. How did I get into this mess?
You throw the car into reverse and back out of the parking lot, tires spinning as you leave. You see Sam and Daniel walking to Sam’s car as you pull into traffic.
God, I cannot believe I was so stupid as to think her and I would ever be anything. I should have never told him to go after her. He must have done it… the one time he actually listened to you…
Speeding down the interstate, the music blaring from the speakers is interrupted by a phone call. Jake is calling. You blow out an exasperated breath, knowing exactly what he wants.
“Hello.” You say blankly.
“Josh… what the fuck?” He asks.
“I have no idea. I thought… I didn’t know they were…this whole thing is fucked.” You reply.
“No, I know you didn’t know. I didn’t know either. None of us did. I mean, what the fuck are you doing leaving her like that? I thought you liked her?” He replies.
“I don’t know, seemed like the right thing… I don’t know….fuck…I just couldn’t stay there. I would have said something I didn’t mean and I do like her, I have always liked her. Last night we finally… we came together and I thought she wanted me too…but now, I don’t know up from down. ” You say, struggling to explain.
“I think she does, she was a mess when I was closing out. I think you need to go back. Talk to her, figure this shit out. You and I both know Danny isn’t going to do it. She needs someone, and I think it’s you.” He says imploringly.
You breathe a long sigh out, tapping your fingers on the steering wheel checking the time on the clock.  You whip your car around, heading back to the bar, knowing that Jake is right.
“Alright, fine.” You reply.
“Good, you call me if you need anything. I am going to call Sam, see if he is tending to Daniel’s fire or if I need to step in. We can’t let this shit come between us… I think you know that.” He says scolding you.
“I fucking know, Jacob. I’m not a child. If I thought things were in jeopardy I wouldn’t be going to her, I would be going to him. I’ll talk to him, okay? Just let me talk to her first, figure things out and then I’ll talk to him.” You reply.
“Alright, good luck brother.” He says ending the call.
You smash the red phone button on your steering wheel, making sure the call ended.
You can’t help the hot tears that fall from your eyes, littering your pants with tiny wet spots. You can’t believe the dramatic turn of events that have happened today, waking up feeling on top of the world and ending the day under the weight of it. You are upset with her, with him.
You pull back into the parking lot, it’s empty apart from her car.
Maybe I should go in? Jake said she was a mess, I shouldn’t let her revel in it.
No. Wait for her to come out. Give her some space. What am I even going to say? I am so furious.
I just need to talk to her. Just need to hear it from her. Give her a chance to explain everything. Maybe it didn’t happen the way I think it did. Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions.
You tap your fingers on the center console impatiently, just waiting. Replaying everything that happened, tears continue to leak out of the corner of your eyes.
You really thought she wanted you. You thought last night was it, the turning point you had been waiting for after so many weeks of flirtatious conversations and innocent touches. I guess it didn't mean to her what it meant to you.
You don’t know how long it has been, you have been sitting here for what feels like an hour, watching and waiting to see the door open. Finally, it does. You immediately jump out and see her approaching, her hood up on her coat. Her face is red and splotchy. She has definitely been crying and is still clearly upset over everything. You lean against the front of your car, giving her the option on whether she wants to talk. She doesn’t say anything, you’re not sure if her silence is because she has nothing to say or she is afraid she will lose it again.
“You think we can talk? You manage, almost a whisper. Something about her disheveled appearance leaving you breathless.
“I don’t think I am good company right now.” She replies, gripping the cuffs of her coat nervously. Even when you’re upset with her, you can’t help but find everything she does absolutely heartwarming.
“Please. We really need to talk. Tonight.” You beg, hoping she will just take the chance to tell you everything from her perspective. Even if it is the last thing you want to hear, you need the closure. Maybe it will help you move on. Or at least try to… Maybe she will surprise you, tell you that her time with Daniel was a mistake, and you’re the one she wants.
Snap out of it. Feeding those delusions is not helping anyone.
She looks at you for a minute, contemplating her options.
“Okay, you can come over to my place…God Josh, I am the one who should be begging for you to talk to me. Not the other way around.” She cries out, clearly dealing with internal conflict just like you are.
“Let’s just talk when we get there.” You say reassuringly as you step back into your car, starting it and following her out.
The drive there you prepare yourself for what is likely to be a hard conversation. You need to hear it from her though. It’s the only way. The time spent with your thoughts causing your anger and sadness to bubble up, not sure what emotion you’re feeling most. You want to be mad, and you are. But ultimately you’re just upset. The amount of grief you have over a relationship that never even began overtaking the animosity you have towards her and Danny.
You pull into the empty parking space next to her car, and walk up the stairs to her door. She fidgets with the key and unlocks the door, immediately shedding her heavy layers on the table near the door.
She throws herself onto her couch and holds her head in her hands. You can tell she is beating herself up pretty badly.
“Josh, I…” she stops.
You sit down next to her and place a hand on her back, just trying to help her relax a bit. You realize how deep in this you are, still needing to comfort her when you feel like you have a knife in your own chest.
“I need you to tell me everything. I don’t care about what happened, but I need to hear it from you. Please.” You say, tears nearing the brim of your eyes, threatening to spill over.
“It was never supposed to be like this, Josh. It just… happened. and now…” she stops again, her eyes also filling with tears.
“I know…” you reply, just hoping that offering a piece of understanding will help her get it out. “I really wish you would have said something to me last night. I never would have said the things that I said if I had known. It didn’t have to be this way.” You say, not trying to add to her pain but hoping she will understand that she should have told you what had happened between them before you shared your feelings and took things to the level that it went.
“I thought it was just going to be the one time, and I thought he did too. But every time we would see each other…. I think we both knew that it was never just the one time.…I guess it really all started at the bar.”
Were we in the same room? All I ever saw was Daniel being an ass… How does he still get the girl after acting like a complete dickhead?
“At first everything was so normal. You all would come in every night, you’d order your drinks, we would small talk and that was it. Somewhere down the road you started to become my friends. Each of you in your own ways. Sammy, the dramatic jokester always down for a good time and a song, Jake the very serious problem solver, the voice of reason within your group, and someone I could count on to keep things in check when it began to get too rowdy. And you, my shoulder to lean on and a friend I could always talk to about anything, you were a constant each night. I would look forward to your turns to get drinks knowing I would always feel warm after our conversations, whether they be 5 minutes or 25.”
You were my constant too. All I ever saw was you. If only you knew how many hard times you got me through by just the thought of speaking to you for a minute or seeing your smile after a shit day. You will never understand what you mean to me.
Shaking your head from your thoughts you refocus, and listen.
“Then there was Danny. I wouldn’t say we ever became friends, we were hardly acquaintances.… In the beginning he wasn’t mean, he was just, quiet, almost shy.  Somewhere along the way something happened…. Feelings began to form right under our noses. Every night, stealing glances at each other. His eyes lingering on mine for just a little too long. We both felt it. We were like magnets to each other. I think we both denied feeling it for so long that it got lost.”
I guess I did notice them looking at each other a lot… I thought they were both just being hyper aware of the other’s presence, trying to avoid one another at all costs. How stupid am I to not realize what it actually was.
“He had a girlfriend and I was still relatively new in town, I was trying to settle in… One night it changed. You remember… he got so drunk, he was trying to fight people, calling me names… I know now, he was just hurt, looking for someone to blame.”
I remember it well, the first night I felt like I had to protect you.
“After kicking him out that night our dynamic changed. He was no longer watching me from across the room, instead he was glaring, and I would return it. It became an obsessive need to match his energy. His words cutting me, so I would cut him right back. We both craved it. I could just tell. I started to see a fire in his eyes each night he would walk into the bar, he craved the toxicity of whatever it was we were dancing around. So we continued, every night being as hateful as we could to each other.”
You feel a pang through your heart. Your stomach is in knots and you aren’t sure you want to hear any more. You know you need to though, to understand the depth of this connection they share.
How could she not see me? Not notice me longing for her, too? Why could she only see him? Why would she want him? With his hateful words and impulsive actions, when I have so many beautiful and tender words waiting… just for her. Only for her. I could write a million words about her and it would never be enough.
You swallow down the pain in your chest, and try to focus on what she is saying.
She is so beautiful, you don’t understand why she couldn’t just want you like you wanted her. She has so much to offer that Danny will never see…never value like you do.
“A few weeks ago, a guy came into the bar and I was talking to him. Things were going good… I thought he might have liked me. But then something I have never seen in Danny made its appearance. He was…jealous. He lied to the guy and made him believe something that was the farthest from the truth. Was awful about it too. He just couldn’t stand the thought of someone else having me. He wouldn’t admit it at the time, but I see it so clearly now.” She says through shaky breaths.
You remember this, that night. She was so upset, you talked to her for a while afterwards, but you see now that her anger was rose colored.
“I was so furious at him that night. I knew I was going to go straight to his house and smack him right across the face. But when I got there, with all my courage gathered up, I froze. I could hardly even remember what I was doing there. I remembered I had his house key from when I house sat, so I told him thats why I was there. He had just showered and he was only in a towel. It was the first time I really ever looked at him like that, you know? The first time I ever really saw him.  His hardened, mean facade turned playful and alluring, just for a split second, and I liked it. I was attracted to it.”
You know. You know right then. She loves him. The way she’s talking about him, its so… clear. Anything you thought she might have felt for you, couldn’t have been real. It had to be the alcohol. You should have known better. Thousands of screaming fans, but the only face you ever really saw was hers. But she hasn’t seen yours in the same light.
“My head was spinning. I rushed straight home, the whole way convincing myself that was I was feeling wasn’t what I thought. Replaying every hurtful thing he ever said in an effort to stifle back that feeling. That was the night I knew that things had really changed between us. It was shifting, to something else. Something more. I can keep going but I don’t want to say too much, I don’t want you to be upset. I know this is a lot….”
You snap back quickly, “No, keep going. I need to know.”
“You texted me the next day, and invited me to come to your party at your house. I didn’t think I was going to go, but something convinced me I should. I wanted to go, simply because you had asked me. I was happy to hear from you outside of the bar. I knew he would be there, I was nervous, but knew I had this underlying craving to see him. So I decided that if I was going to go, I was going to make it interesting.” She says.
Another blow to your chest.
I thought you came for me. When you texted me you were coming I couldn’t stop smiling. Jake asked what I was so happy about but I gave him some bullshit excuse about just being excited to be social. I tried on what must have been 15 outfits before I found one I thought you would like. I wore my favorite cologne. I was sure that was the night I was going to tell you how I felt after all this time.
“After what had happened the night before, I knew that things between us were going to heat up. The build up was finally reaching the apex. The entire night our eyes never broke from each others. Silently calling for one another. Each of us with different people, just wishing it was the other. We could both feel the electricity in the air between us. I decided that I was going to really push his buttons. I acted on the feelings that I was feeling, knowing he would cave. I knew I had him, I could make him do anything I wanted. Finally, he snapped. He drug me out of the party and took me back to his house.”
Your breath catches and you feel your self wincing almost outwardly from the pain of her words.
He did it? He actually took her for his own? How could your own best friend not see that you were in love with her?
“We both knew we shouldn’t be doing it, but we just couldn’t stop. How could two people who have been so awful to each other end up in this situation? All night we fed off of each other, using each other like a drug. We were addicted. It was harsh and vile and wonderful. We both knew things wouldn’t go back to how they had been. We snuck around for weeks, lying straight to all of your faces. Slowly the hatefulness started to wear away, the hate fucking became regular fucking, maybe even something more. His feelings were shifting, and he was still pushing them back….”
A heavy sigh leaves your chest.
What a fool, the most beautiful girl in the world, and he still won’t commit to her.
What a mistake. I would never let you go…
“Right before you all left for the UK we had a big blowout fight, and he told me that we would never be anything more than what we were in that moment. That he would never be with a girl like me. It killed me, I thought we had gotten past it. Because I mean, wasn’t he with me? We were fucking? Anyways, the only thing I could do was to fight him back. I said something I didn’t mean and we didn’t speak after that. Not the entire time you were gone.”
Every night you would think of her face, while she dreamt of the guy sleeping above you, and you had no idea. The guy who was fucking groupies while this beautiful girl just waited to hear from him.
You feel sick, and your breathing becomes shaky again as you listen.
“The night you guys came in after you got back was the first time we had spoken or seen each other in weeks, but the spark was still there. I could see it in his eyes no matter how much he tried to pretend it was gone. I overheard you all talking about him getting with a groupie and the way he looked at me when he knew I heard… I thought I had been shot. I couldn’t even comprehend why I was so hurt. I was sad but couldn’t let him see that. As far as I knew he had moved on from whatever we were doing.”
You nod your head to show her you’re still here, still listening.
“But you were there to pick me up, to make it go away. I will never be able to tell you how much that meant to me. It was the most beautiful night I’ve probably ever had, even with all the alcohol. You were perfect and gentle and tender. Everything I ever wanted for myself Josh, really.” She cries.
It meant everything to me. I will never let it go. It may have been the best night of my life, just to be followed by the worst.
“But something wasn’t right. Somewhere in the very back of my mind, I was still wanting him. Wishing for him to come around. Hoping he would realize that maybe the feelings he was stifling back were something more.”
When will I ever be enough…
“I think a part of me has always known that we would end up together, but ignored it, and hoped it would die down. But it didn’t. In fact that part got bigger, more needy. Desperate for him. Constantly longing to be near him. I wish more than anything that I didn’t feel this way about him. I know it’s wrong, every part of me knows I shouldn’t feel this way. But I do and I cant push it back anymore. I haven’t ever felt like this about anyone. I just wish it could have been different. I wish it could have been you Josh, I really do. But it’s him, it’s always been him.”
It will always be you for me, my beautiful girl. Always.
Swallowing the lump in your throat you nod your head that you understand, because you do. You understand that she loves him, he probably loves her too. You have to let her go to him, but you also have to tell her how you feel, how you’ve beenfeeling. It’s now or never. Your heart is beating out of your chest, you’re almost sure it’s loud enough to be audible. You take a deep breath and begin.
“Every night we come to the same bar. Do you know why?” You ask.
“No.” She whispers.
“In the beginning, it was because of convenience, a quiet place to go with good drinks… Towards the middle it became comfortable, a familiar face to always greet us and a place to relax, and somewhere around the end it became my escape. Where I could walk in and forget my outside life, knowing I would see you there.
Every night when we would walk in and I would see you, every minuscule inconvenience of my day would be gone. You were just so beautiful and refreshing. So easy to talk to and connect with. I pined for you from across the bar for as long as I can remember. Everyone knew it. Sam, Jake. Everyone except you and him. But I couldn’t bring myself to make a move, couldn’t risk losing it. My safe place.
The day I invited you to that party, I thought maybe I would be able to tell you…I saw you and him inside. The way you were looking at each other. I think I knew then too. He came to me outside, he was worked up, anxious… a mess. I knew then he felt the same way about you that I did, so I did what any good friend would do. I put my feelings aside, I told him to go get you. He didn’t understand how I knew, but I did, because I saw you the same way he did. The way he looked at you… it was the same way I did. But you didn’t see me, you were too busy looking at him. I didn’t know you went home with him that night. I don’t know how I didn’t see it coming. I basically forced it to happen. ” you say,  tears close to falling.
The biggest mistake of my life so far. I basically pushed you into his arms.
Her eyes are searching your face, looking for any emotion to cling to.
“Josh, I…I’m so sorry…” she says, grabbing your hands, rubbing her thumbs across your knuckles. The feeling of her skin on yours, twisting the knife deeper in your heart. Taking another breath you continue.
“For weeks I tried to work up the courage to tell you at the bar, but I never could, especially knowing how Danny felt that night. You two were always arguing and you would always seem upset and I just wanted to comfort you. I knew the timing wasn't right. We left for the UK and I thought about you every single night. I would lie awake in my bunk imagining your smile waiting for me at the bar when I got home. I almost texted you a few drunken nights, always reigning myself back in. I was afraid you wouldn’t feel the same.
The day we got back I couldn’t wait to get to the bar. To see you. To be close to you.
You know what happened next. While I know now that it shouldn’t have happened, I am glad it did. If it was my only chance to have you I will never regret taking that chance. I only wish you would have told me beforehand. It seems we are in a mess now and I’m not sure how we fix it. ”
It shouldn’t have happened, but I will never, ever forget it.
“Josh, I care about you so much and I wish things could have happened differently. I’ll never be able to tell you how badly I wanted it to be us. I’ll never be able to tell you how sorry I am that it  isn’t us. You’re kind, thoughtful, intentional. You are everything I should want and need in a partner. I would be so lucky to ever have you, in any lifetime, but I think in this one I end up with someone else. This story doesn’t have a happy ending for us.” She says, tears flowing down her cheeks.
I wish it was us. I so badly need you to see yourself how I see you. Worthy of only the best and sweetest kind of love. Not this. You deserve everything. But you deserve to be happy, and if this is it…. I will be the bystander.
You reach up and swipe away the tear away from her face.
“I know. I knew as soon as I saw your face tonight, he may as well pulled your heart out right there. I knew you loved him.” You manage.
“Josh I don’t love him?” She replies shocked.
You know she just doesn’t understand her feelings yet. It’s clear to you though. As painful as it is to admit, she talks about him like he puts the stars in the sky, even after all of his faults. The same way you talk about her.
“But thats the thing. You do. You always have, you just haven’t realized it fully yourself yet. When he enters the room, your cheeks flush. When he talks to you your breath catches in your throat. You bite your lips and lean closer to him, and him to you. When he tells a story, you are captivated, hanging on his every word, even from across the room. Shit, you just talked about him for twenty minutes straight… I know what it feels like to be in love, but now I can say I have seen it too. You just spent so much of your time and energy fighting with each other that you never stopped to ask yourselves what was fueling the hate, what kind of tension it was. All along it was what would eventually turn into this. If you feel like even a tiny bit of that is true, you’ll go to him. He loves you too, I know he does.” You reply.
How could he not?
You can see the panic, the relief setting in on her face at finally being able to put a word to the feeling. It crushes you.
It should be you, not him. You’d give anything to be in his shoes.
“Oh god. Everything is such a mess…everything is ruined.” She cries.
“It’s not, it’s only really just begun. You are an amazing woman, any man on Earth would be lucky to have you, even for five minutes. But like you said, your story doesn’t end with us, it ends with him. I will never understand, but I know somehow that this is the right thing.” You say.
I truly will never understand why for once it couldn’t be me. What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?
“I think I do love him. I don’t know when it happened, but it did. Neither of us wanted this. This wasn’t part of the plan. I don’t even know how to fix it…Oh god, and Jake, and Sammy…they hate me too. I could see it on their faces…” she says nervously.
There it is, the words to end it all. She does love him. I need to get out of here. I need to go lay down and pretend this entire night didn’t happen.
You place a reaffirming hand on her shoulder, gripping it slightly.
“I will smooth things over with them, leave that part to me. Jake was just feeling what I felt. It's literally in his DNA. Sam is Daniel’s best friend, he will be on his side first and foremost. But you know he can’t stay mad about anything. I will talk to them both. Things will be okay. You just need to fix it with Daniel.” You say confidently, you know you just have to explain to Jake and he will take care of Sam.
“But won’t seeing me with him… I don’t want to hurt you Josh.” She whispers.
I am already hurt, I don’t know if it gets worse than this.
You know she needs you to help her down the right path, so you gather your courage and tell her.
“Seeing you happy is what matters the most to me. Do I wish it was me? Of course. But just know, I will be watching and at the first sign of him not treating you right, I will be there to put him in his place and take you for my own.” He says, with a soft smile. “So go. You need to tell him everything you just told me. All of it. Bring the fire with you. Hold his ass accountable, never let him talk to you like that again. About pissed me right off. Be mad at him, yell at him, but mostly, tell him you love him. It’s time.” You say.
“You heard him tonight…. He doesn’t want to see me. He wants nothing to do with me.” She says doubting herself.
“Is that why your phone has buzzed two times since I have been here?” You ask with a smirk.
She runs to her phone and a tiny smile crosses her face and you know.
“He may not be blood, but he is still my brother. I know him like I know myself. This is why we had to do this, tonight. We needed to do this, so you could go to him without the burden of this.” You say gesturing between the two of you, standing up, and pulling your coat on.
“I forgive you, and I’ll always be here for you. But please, go to him and fight for this. One day I will have my great love story, but this one is yours.” You say.
I wish it was our love story my girl. You deserve this love, not whatever misconstrued love he is offering. Deserve anything you want.
You grab your keys off the table, taking one last look at her beautiful face, pulling her in for a kiss on the cheek, the only way you can have her now. Releasing her and stepping out the door, shutting it gently behind you.
Alone, again.
You walk down to car, taking refuge in the cold cab. Waiting to let the tears fall until you pull away.
This is the right thing.… You are doing the right thing. She loves him. You have to let her try.
Gripping the steering wheel you fight through the tears to make it home. You keep saying that over and over in your head. Trying to convince yourself that you didn’t just make another mistake by giving up the fight and pushing her right back to his arms, again.
When will it be your turn? How are you supposed to move on? Anyone else doesn’t hold a candle to her, and now that I’ve had her… I’m fucked.
As you pull into the driveway you put your car in park and immediately go inside. It’s late and you know you have to go to the studio tomorrow. You turn the shower on the let the water warm up and you look at yourself in the mirror. Your eyes are bloodshot and your hair is a mess. You look like you have been through it. You find yourself replaying what Daniel said tonight, and how he must have thought you did what you did on purpose. You might be pining over his girl, but you would never do that to him. He is your brother, and if you had known they were already getting together you would have never allowed the night to go where it went, no matter how badly you craved it.
Fuck, I need to talk to him. Maybe tomorrow at the studio. Unless…Surely he wouldn’t no show… Right?
Shedding your clothes you jump into the scalding hot shower, hoping to wash away the night and the hurt that came with it. As the water cascades down your face you think of her. How her face looked when she cried, the slight shake of her hands when she was talking. The emotions radiating off of her body.
You push it from your mind and finish your shower, quickly changing and getting into bed. You pull the string on your lamp and plug in your phone. Closing your eyes, begging for sleep to take you away, but it doesn’t.
You toss and turn all night, the conversation from tonight replaying over and over in your head. Her words on an endless loop.
‘I’ll never be able to tell you how badly I wanted it to be us.’
It doesn’t matter, your actions speak louder than your words, and you chose him. I still wasn’t enough, even if deep down you knew that it should have been me.
You toss and turn the rest of the night, sleeping in small increments when the loud blaring of your alarm pulls you from the longest stretch you were able to manage.
You only have about two hours until you need to be leaving and you are already dreading it.  You pull yourself out of bed and begin your morning. Well, afternoon at this point.
A while later as you sit on the couch you think about what the day will be like today, and your mind wanders to Danny. You shoot him a quick text, testing the waters.
You: You’re coming today, right?
Daniel: Yes.
You: Ok.
Okay, well at least he replied and he’s coming.
Throwing your phone on the coffee table, you try to read more of your book but you just cant seem to get her out of your head. So you let her stay, just for a while.
.
.
As you open the door to the studio, you are the last to arrive as usual. As you step into the sound booth all of them go silent on their conversation and stare at you.
“Oh come on… what? I am only 10 minutes late this time!” You say, thinking they were talking about you being late. There is a weird energy surrounding everyone, but you know that things are probably still a little tense from last night.
“You ready to get started?” Jake asks, changing the subject.
“Let’s do it, did you listen to that sample?” Daniel replies.
“Yes, sounds better. Let’s start with that.” Jake says.
You look between the two of them and then over to Sam who has a smug look on his face. You raise your eyebrows at him and he shakes his head slightly.
Ok…something is definitely up.
You wait all day for the blowup from Daniel, but it never comes. He seems to be acting fairly normal, which can only mean one thing. She went to him last night. It would explain all of it. Although you shouldn’t be surprised, you did tell her to.
Wrapping up the session you are all sitting in the mixing booth chatting when Sam speaks up.
“Sixty’s?” He asks.
“I’m in.” Jake says, placing his guitar in the hard case, clipping the locks.
“Yeah, I will meet you guys there.” Daniel replies.
“Okay, twist my arm…” you joke. When in fact you are dreading stepping in there today, knowing that something definitely has transpired between the two of them.
As everyone gathers their things and head out the doors Daniel grabs your arm, stopping you in your tracks.
“Josh, we need to talk.” He says.
“I know, I was hoping to avoid it though.” You reply with a smile. Really hoping to brush it all under the rug and head out to drink your sorrows away. You’re not sure you can handle hearing him talk about her after the conversation you endured last night.
“I’m sorry about last night man, I was so heated. Didn’t occur to me that you had no idea.” He says.
“No, I didn’t know and I’m sorry I slept with your girl. I would have never…. You know… If I had known…” you stammer. Looking for the right words.
“Thank you. For talking to her last night. I owe you everything for sending her back to me.” He says, letting out a relieved breath.
I should be happy for him, I can tell he is genuinely happy right now. He loves her too. But fuck, it should be me.
“Brother, I would do anything for you. I knew she loved you 5 minutes into our conversation. She told me everything I would ever hope someone would say about me one day. I told her she needed to go tell you all of that. I’m guessing everything went well?” You ask, hoping for more information but trying not to pry.
“It did…more than well. I just don’t want there to be any hard feelings between us. I love her, but dude I love you too. Need you both.” He says with a hopeful smile.
“Ah, you cant get rid of me that easily. No hard feelings. Love her hard, she deserves it.” You reply, grabbing your stuff and nodding towards the door. Both of you getting in your cars and heading to the bar.
You pull up at the same time, parking and walking in together. Its strange to think that just last night you could barely look at each other and now here you were horsing around walking through the front door. You look over and she isn’t there. She must be off tonight.
Sam and Jake are already seated at the table, giving you both strange looks when they see you both on such friendly terms.
As you sit down, you break the ice. “Oof. I am ready for a cocktail. Who’s buying?”
After a minute of silence Sam is the first to give in. “Alright fine…” he jokingly stomps away to the bar to grab the first round.
As he’s ordering the drinks you hear a bell, indicating someone new has entered the bar. She walks in and immediately your stomach is full of butterflies at the sight of her. You can tell she feels uneasy, not wanting to make eye contact with the table yet and walking faster than usual. When she finally approaches the table, you try to make her feel more comfortable.
“Ahhh, there she is. If you can’t be serving us, your company is the next best thing.” You say with a smile that she returns back.
I will live with being just friends for eternity if it means I get to continue to see that smile on your pretty face.
She takes the empty seat next to Daniel, placing a kiss on his cheek as he puts his arm around her bringing her in closer.
Like a lightning strike through your body the sadness hits you. You knew it wouldn’t be easy to see them together, but you weren’t expecting it so blatantly.
Sam returns with the round of drinks for everyone. “Alright you bastards,” he starts while handing everyone their drink of choice. Once everyone has something in hand he raises his up to the ceiling.
“To all of us getting along again, and to whatever fucked up things happened staying in the past. All that matters is that my brothers are happy.” He says making the toast. You all nod your heads and take a drink. Danny places a kiss on her forehead and you turn your head pretending not to notice but you do.
I’m not happy Sammy, cant you see that?
Fuck it, let’s get drunk.
Playing it off, you pat Daniel’s shoulder ensuring to him that there are no hard feelings. The only feeling you are really feeling right now is heartbroken.
You turn to Jake who has his eyes fixed on the door. You can sense his emotions shifting and notice Sammy become tense as well. You look over as the door is closing behind her.
Olivia? Holy shit…
“Well… to what do we owe this great pleasure?” Sam asks sarcastically as she approaches your table.
“C’mon Sammy, after all the years we’ve known each other THAT is how you greet me? I’m hurt.” she lets out a dry laugh and focuses her attention to Danny.
He is in shock, he has gone rigid and you can tell he is nervous.
This is not going to go well. Don’t fuck this up, Daniel.
HER POV
“Hi, I’m Olivia. I’m sure Daniel has told you all about me…” she reaches her hand to yours and shakes it dismissively.
Olivia? The Olivia?
“So what are you doing here?” Jake asks her in a very questioning tone.
“I’m in town for work, thought I might find you all here…did you miss me?” she asks, staring directly at Danny.
He doesn’t reply, he is still shocked. The entire table is obviously uncomfortable, unsure how to handle this conversation.
“Anyways, just thought it would be nice to…catch up… see what’s new, although I can see a few things are definitely….new.” she says pointedly.
You look to Josh, and he shakes his head staring directly at you, trying not to draw attention. Danny is rigid underneath you, a warmth rushing over his skin. He removes his arm from around you and folds his hands in his lap, the sudden panic growing in your chest is enough that you feel like you need to remove yourself from the situation for a moment and collect your thoughts.
“I’ll be right back.” You announce, Josh’s eyes never leaving yours. He can tell you’re anxious. Danny doesn’t even look at you as you walk to the bathroom.
As you walk into the bathroom you shut the door and lock it behind you breathing heavily as you lean over the sink. You look at yourself in the mirror.
He loves you. He wants you. Not her.
Why does it feel like you are trying to convince yourself?
You smooth out your hair, and fix your clothes trying to regain your composure. The last thing you want is for her to think you are intimidated.
You clear your throat and walk out of the bathroom, only to find that your seat has been taken.
What is going on?
Don’t make a scene. You know your place in Danny’s life. We just fixed things, we love each other.
You lock eyes with Josh and you see him bite his lip as he realizes your seat is now taken. He quickly grabs another and pulls it up next to him, nodding for you to sit.
As you reach the table you sit down next to Josh, and he leans over and whispers in your ear when no one is looking.
“You’re okay, just talk to me. She’ll leave eventually.” He says.
You nod your head and listen to him ramble. Danny’s eyes cut to you a few times. You can tell he is stressed out, but not enough to do anything about it. In fact, he hasn’t spoken a word to you since she walked in.
She doesn’t leave, she has made her self very comfortable within the group, reminiscing on old times and laughing. You are feeling really uncomfortable and Josh can definitely sense that, placing his hand on your back and trying to talk to you separately to not be a part of their conversation.
Your knee begins to bounce anxiously at the fact that Danny is allowing this to continue.  All of this.
Shouldn’t he ask her to leave? Things with you two were still a little rocky to be in this kind of situation.
Then she starts her questioning.
“So Daniel, how long have you two been seeing each other?” She asks, almost sarcastically.
“A few weeks now…” he says looking at you with a small smile.
“How did you meet?” She asks.
“She is actually one of the bartenders here.” He answers.
Josh’s hand grips your shoulder, in silent support.
“Oh… I see.” She replies with a disgusted smirk.
I would like to smack that grin right off of your face, bitch.
Sam quickly changes the subject. “What about you, Olivia? Still chasing people around trying to find anyone desperate enough to have you do their social media?”
You smirk to yourself.
One point for Sammy.
“Actually, Samuel, I am working with a great team now. I run socials for a few bands. Really moved up since I worked with you guys.” She snaps.
Jake scoffs. “Well good for you.”
You can tell there is definite tension between her and the guys. She hasn’t even dared talk to Josh, let alone look his way.
As the conversation drifts else where you turn to Josh. “I think I’m gonna go, this is… weird.” You whisper.
“No, don’t go yet. Please…” He begs, “Lets go up to the bar and sit for a minute? One drink, then you can go?” He asks.
How could you say no to him? Especially after the day you put him through yesterday.
“Okay.”
“We are gonna go get another drink? Anyone want anything?” He asks, and before anyone can even open their mouths he says “No? No one? Sounds good!” And he ushers you off to the bar.
You both take a seat and you breathe out a deep sigh of relief.
“Fuck, that is really awkward… Danny hasn’t even spoken to me since she walked in.” You say, staring at your empty glass.
“Here’s the thing about Olivia…she… had this... hold over him for so long… I don’t know if she ever really got her claws out of him. He thought she was it for him. She broke his heart, was super hateful to all of us… it ended really badly. He was messed up for a while… I don’t know what has come over him tonight but its like she has got him back under her spell. I’m sure as soon as she leaves things will go back to normal. Don’t sweat it, sugar.” He says, patting your shoulder.
“But Josh, isn’t that kinda… fucked up?” You ask. “I mean… just last night he told me he was in love with me and now he is sitting, talking and engaging with his ex girlfriend? Right in front of me... as if I’m not there?”
“Oh it one hundred percent is…” he says before you cut him off.
“Bruce…. We need shots… please.” you ask practically begging.
“Two Fireballs, por favor.” You say.
He grabs two shot glasses and pours them up sliding them to you.
You clink your tiny shot glasses together and drink them down, hoping it will get rid of the anxiety in your chest.
“What is she doing here? What does she want?” You ask.
“She said she’s here for work, but… more importantly why did she come to this bar that she knows we would be at? She is here to cause trouble as usual. Without a doubt. ” He says.
You let out a deep sigh.
“I should have known. I couldn’t just have one uncomplicated thing in my life.” You say.
His hand grazes your back. “It doesn’t have to be complicated.” He says.
You know what he means. You know he could give you that. Deep down you know you have feelings for him, but they are nothing compared to what you feel for Danny.
“I know.” You mutter. You look over your shoulder to see Danny still talking to her.
“Okay, I think I’m going to go. I don’t want to be here anymore.” You say defeatedly.
“Can I walk you to your car?” He asks, sounding hopeful. You don’t deserve him...
“Sure, let’s go.” You say, grabbing your bag and heading for the door.
“Aren’t you going to go say bye to Daniel?” He nods his head in the direction of the table, your eyes travel and see Danny. Still next to her, hasn’t moved an inch.
“No.” You reply, pushing the front door open and stepping out into the cool air.

Nominated by Anonymous
Tangled Fates by @outofnowhere82
Nominated by @katbratsupernaturalwhore
Factory Reset by @talltalesandbedtimestories
The build up, the sass, the care she took, the pegging, the focus on description, the deliciousness... Mmmm I wanna eat him up!
Love; For the First Time by @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior
Adorable first time fic. Good build, sweet and fluffy and steamy!
Nominated by @mrswhozeewhatsis
An Imagined Life by @imagineteamfreewill
This is the fluffiest fluff to ever fluff AND IT HAS IKEA!!! I mean, I couldn't ask for anything more!! *heart eyes forever*
I'm So Sorry, Sammy by @bobwess
(AO3 link) ANGST!!! So much angst, man. Y'all know I love John Winchester, but even I can acknowledge he was not a great dad. Usually, I avoid fics with the "John's A+ parenting" tags because I have very strict ideas about his incompetence as a father. This story really shows a way that I can see in canon John would be especially crappy as a dad. No pairing, just a seriously angtsy genfic showing teenage Sam being a BAMF and Dean's heart breaking. (Sort of happy ending, though! You know me. lol)
Nominated by @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior
Why I Do It by @kazsrm67
This drabble and it's companion piece (from Dean's POV) is short and incredibly sweet. It's a lovely little slice of life for the boys and the reader. I always love when we get to see Dean happy, and he is, in this fluffy piece. Happy, loved and taken care of - us Dean girls can't ask for more. A highly enjoyable read!
Nominated by @glygriffe
Imperfections by @thewritingspot /@troize
Seeing Lucifer in another light, as an insecure middle child in a big family fired my brain cells! And of course, Gabriel being himself even as a kid. (And also: Art!!!)
Never Say Goodbye by @zepskies
It's a soulmate AU series, but it's also a reader insert that stays close to canon. Sweet and angsty and smutty... A little bit of everything all rolled into one satisfying story.
Untitled ask prompt by @sugaraddictarchangels
This ficlet is the only Jess!Lucifer representation I've ever seen and it's so refreshing to see early seasons' Lucifer under that light!
Nominated by @heavenssexiestangel
Between the Three by @lucibae-is-dancing-in-hell
This fic was written for me in all senses of the word, and I love how she characterized Arthur, Mick, and Dean and the different ways they react to being parents-to-be. Of course, the smut is great, but I also love how they clearly all love each other and want to be a family.
The Great 'Nah-Duh' of Dean Winchester by @ladyknightskye
I love this fic because it gave me Gadreel/Dean without having to write it myself, and also because it's well written and I love how soft Gadreel is... And the fact Dean has his Bisexual Awakening with him? LMAO!
Nominated by @iprobablyshipit91
Never Say Goodbye (series) by @zepskies
I’m an absolute sucker for soulmate AUs and this one was amazing. The reader and Dean's relationship was built beautifully and I loved how the ending ‘fixed’ things!
Baby Spoon (series) by @deanwanddamons
This really made me feel so many emotions. Seeing Dean so happy and having the relationship he deserves made me so happy despite everything.
The Prettiest One by @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior
This was literally so adorable and made me laugh so much. It’s such a good one to go back to and read over again.
Carry On (series) by @jawritter
This was just the perfect fix-it fic we all needed after *that* ending. It wasn’t rushed and it by no means sugar-coated what happened. There are some real struggles and a lot for both the reader and Dean to overcome but it’s damn worth it!
Pack (series) by @spnexploration
This is a story I’ve definitely gone back and reread a few times and it’s so close to the end, I can’t wait to see the final chapters. Overprotective Dean is always perfect but I really enjoy the pack dynamics in this and Maddie is a brilliant addition!
Heart of a Hunter Saga (series) by @muchamusedaboutnothing
Where to even start with this, every single stand-alone story in this saga is excellent in its own right and combined together this whole story is amazing. I love Dean and the reader's relationship and how they’ve managed to carve out a family life that works for them. Brilliant!
Baby, We’ve got a Problem (series) by @deanwritings
I love the unique concept of this, Baby getting turned human, and the implications this has particularly for Deans's relationship. I’ve read it a few times as it’s so easy to go back to and enjoyable to read.
Always You and Me by @deanwinchesterswitch
I just loved this story and how it built up. The dialogue is hilarious and while I did guess what was happening, it in no way detracted from how awesome this story is.
Hold On I’m Coming (series) by @ravengirl94
This was one of the first firefighter Dean fics I read and I loved it. The relationship the two of them have and the twists and turns are just perfect.
Captives of the Court by @impala-dreamer
This story instantly got my attention. I loved the way the story moved between what was happening now and what had happened to lead up to that point and how everything came together at the end. Amazing story.
The One That Got Away (series) by @pink-sparkly-witch
This story just hits you in the feels. It’s not finished but I’m so in love with Dean and the reader already and can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses!
Midnight Espresso / Devour Me (series)by @zepskies
There was something so sweet about these two stories that I instantly fell in love with the reader and dean in this. I connected with the plus-sized reader but Dean is so sweet and adorable. I just loved it.
Collared (series) by @spnexploration
I’ve been reading this story from pretty much when it started being posted and I’ve loved every second, I’m so excited and sad that it’s ending. It’s an amazing story full of protective Dean which I live for and it’s just perfect.
The Last Call by @kasimagines
I could have nominated so many of Kasimagines' stories but there’s something about this one that just really hits me and I’ve read it so many times. The loyalty Dean shows despite the years is beautiful and the effect John has on them all is heartbreaking.
Dream On (series) by @talesmaniac89
There’s something about this fic that I just absolutely love. It’s a comfort fic I’ve gone back and read so many times. Dean's overprotectiveness and worry and concern for the reader is just adorable.
Miscommunication (series) by @winchest09
This is another story I’ve read so many times. I love the story and the British reader really resonates with me being from the UK! I love the confusion between the same words meaning different things to British vs American, it makes for some interesting conversations!
If You Want It To Be (series) by @zepskies
This got me feeling so Christmassy in July! It was just such a lovely heart warming story, I adored it.
Nominated by @mariekoukie6661
House of the Rising Sun by @kittenofdoomage
MAFIA AU!!!! This has been a joy to read for the first time and it's always a joy to reread!!!
Nominated by @thoughtslikeaminefield
The Hero Always Gets A Kiss by @fandomoniumflurry
I’m a sucker for ChesterVelle, heroes, and kissing. This is one of my old faves I like to re-read every once in a while.
No Title by @stusbunker
This is sooooo Sam, and it's sooooo swoony and real. It's fucking electric.
Factory Reset by @talltalesandbedtimestories
This is so. well. written. So sexy. So good for Dean. He deserves this so much. This writer did their research but this doesn't read like a manual. It's thorough and intimate and exactly what Dean should have every day — someone taking care of him.
No Title by @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior
For the love of god, he’s just Like This, isn’t he? Like always. In canon, in headcanon, in fic — ALWAYS. And I love the way this writer objectifies him.
Nominated by @inenochian
Restless Wanderer by intothesilentland (AO3 only)
This story is such a beautiful soft romance set in 19th C Cornwall. Beautiful portrayal of Dean and Cas!
Nominated by @salt-n-burn-em-all
The Talismen series by Lochinvar (AO3 only)
Gives us insight into people who helped the boys grow up into the men they became. Not always Hunters, more like strangers who sometimes didn’t know exactly how much they helped until years later, if ever.

Hunter’s Throne (series) by @ladyknightskye
It’s such a beautiful story and I love the angel-human lore. It’s so complimentary to each other and that bond is just so Cas and Dean. They have got to talk. It’s part of what’s we readers love about them because once they do, it only gets better and fluffy! I loved it so much I posted about it on my blog to advertise it because it is worth the read and keeps to the essence of the show.
