50 (+3) Facts About My Rook Listener (aka Félix)!
Because I love him in a hiperfocus kind of way 😭💙 If you want to see how he looks like, go to my yuurivoice tag, and you will find all my listeners! Although I probably should make an updated version, he has gotten a 2.0 version ever since... Also, tagging @itsargyle since they suggested taking other YV fans! I'm... Too shy to tag anyone else tho lmao
Anyway, here goes my big infodump on my favorite sunshine boy:
1 - Hey, I'm Félix Torres... Or not, because that's my middle name, and my actual name is Victor. But I'm not that fond of Victor, so I go by Félix!
2 - Victor was my mom's grandpa's name, and Félix is a tribute to my dad, whose name was Feliciano.
3 - Thanks to the acute accent, the correct pronunciation of Félix would be "feh-liks", not "fee-liks". Oh, and the "c" in Victor is mute. It's Vitor. But sometimes even I forget that it isn't supposed to be spelled like the gringos do, haha!
4 - My mom is Brazilian and my dad was Colombian. I was born in Brazil (Aracaju in Sergipe, to be more specific), but have been living in the USA for most of my life now. I used to spend the holidays in Colombia as a kid, but haven't been there ever since dad passed away... I really should pay it a visit again soon, though. It's a real nice country.
5 - I speak native Portuguese, fluent English and intermediary Spanish. I've been studying ASL (as of right now I just know basic stuff like "hi", "how are you?", how to introduce myself... But hey, at least I know the whole alphabet off the top of my head!) and French too, but it has been hard to find some free time... And when I do have it, I always end up drawing, crafting, cooking... Duolingo's owl wants to eat my ass.
6 - Speaking of which, these are my favorite hobbies! Drawing and painting are main passions in life, though. I've been in love with art as far as I can remember. I was in a few-years-long hiatus when it came to painting, only came back to it recently, but have been drawing non-stop ever since I was a little boy!
7 - When it comes to crafting, I enjoy many aspects of it... I've been really into papercraft these days. Origami, paper dolls, collages... But I also really like jewelry making and fabric painting (even if I find it so damn hard, haha!). I just love personalizing things in general. Sometimes, I see a piece of furniture, have an idea and just have to put my personal touch.
8 - I also know how to sew, but I can't say that I'm a big fan. I've tried crochet once, per example, and almost fell asleep on the couch. It's just a bit boring to me... But I'll gladly sew back a button or fix a hole if you ask nicely!
9 - And, last but not least, I love cooking! Not as much as I love to eat, but anyway. I picked up cooking as a way to deal with my pyrophobia and to bond with my uncle (he owns a restaurant!), and really took a liking to it... And modesty aside, I'm damn good at it!
10 - Speaking of which... I'm a bit of a bottomless pit when it comes to food! I'll eat (mostly) anything, am willing to try (mostly) everything and am hungry 24/7. Please, feed me.
11 - My favorite food is kind of specific, but: I love Thanksgiving pies. And breakfast foods. But anything that's chicken or has corn is also very damn good.
12 - I don't really like fruits. Most of them feel either bland (apples taste like NOTHING!) or straight up gross. I hate, HATE peach. Mango, guaba and pineapple too. Disgusting. I'm team vegetables all the way. Lemon and watermelon are the only ones that get a pass.
13 - My favorite ice cream favorite is chocomint!
14 - When it comes to drinks... I like coffee, as long as it has milk and unholy amounts of sugar (hate bitter coffee, as contradictory as it is). And while I'm not too big on alcoholic drinks, I like champagne.
15 - I also like biking, but, much like studying ASL and French, I don't have enough free time nowadays to really get into it again... But I try to bike every weekend I can!
16 - As a kid, I was in singing classes! I really enjoyed it and was pretty decent at it, but nowadays I do it just for fun. Love singing and listening to music around the house while doing other things.
17 - I have eight tattoos on total: Flower sleeves on both arms (featuring a clock among the flowers on the left arm and a bird on the right), music player symbols on the left side of my chest, "keep going" on the right side, an anchor on my upper back, a sun and a crescent moon on my lower back, a sea monster's tentacles going through my right hip and a paper plane on my left ankle!
18 - I also have a bunch of moles. On my face, on my back and on my chest. I used to be embarrassed by them, but nowadays, not nearly as much.
19 - I have been dyeing my hair blonde ever since college. I'm actually a brunette! I like being a blondie, but I'm considering going back to my roots... My hair is screaming for help. [He goes back to being a brunette and lets his hair grow after the events of Escape]
20 - Oh yeah, speaking of college... I have a Law degree. And am working on this field. Ya-hoo... Unfortunately, I needed a more lucrative career to support my family. But my long-term life goal is to be able to quit and live from art! And I like to believe I'm almost there.
21 - I pierced my ears in college too! I usually only wear my lucky sun earrings, but if I'm feeling fancy, I can go with a larger one.
22 - I considered becoming an English major for a while, but didn't happen either.
23 - I have a weird love for plaid jackets (of any color, but especially blue ones) and grungy bracelets. If you wanna give me anything that's wearable, going with either of these is the safest bet! Can't ever have enough of these!
24 - My favorite animals are octopuses (I had an obsession with sea monsters as a kid and this love never really died) and peacocks (they're just awesome)!
25 - My lucky number is sixteen, because my birthday is on February 16th, and because if you put "Félix Victor" together, there's a sixteen in Roman numerals right in the middle: XVI!
26 - Also, I'm 30 as of 2024, and... It's terrifying, to be honest. Buuut I'll find comfort on the fact that I look like I'm 20, hehe.
27 - This one will be hard to explain, but... I really like the sun. From summer to sunflowers to sun imageries... I like the sun. And all because of my dad. It's a long history, but yeah.
28 - I have a younger sister, her name is Alice! She's in college right now, she's History major! And... She's my pride and joy.
29 - And I also have five younger cousins: Ariel, Rafael, Leon, Joyce and Mercedes! I love them all, they're like my siblings. [Joyce is actually my Sunflower listener!]
30 - I... Have a... Weird relationship with my mom. It has been getting worse these last few years... Ah, nevermind, I shouldn't have brought this up.
31 - I had three relationships in my life... Well, three and a half, if you count that high school fling, but I digress: My first boyfriend lasted, like, half a year of my freshman year in college. It was nice, we just realized quickly that neither of us were serious. And my second boyfriend... Ergh. Tristan. We began dating in my junior year, and had a pretty messy break-up right after my graduation...
32 - ...But, nearly a whole decade after that, he sent me a DM on Instagram asking me how I was, and I mistakenly thought he became a decent human being. Hell, he was the one who got me my current job. He works in the Marketing department and was kind enough to tell me that Legal was hiring. I thought that we could at least be friends again, but... He's still a pain in the ass, at the end of the day. And still wants me back. ERGH...
33 - ...But, actually, I should thank him for that. Ironically, by trying to get back with me, he got me my third and current boyfriend... And... I won't talk too much about our relationship, but... This is the happiest I've ever been with someone. I mean it.
34 - Ok, how do I say this? I... Have been told that I... Have a pretty high libido. Or, if you want to be meaner, I'm a horny bastard. I... Will not elaborate if that's true or not. [It Is Literally Canonical]
35 - But even if I WAS a horny bastard, I'm a romantic at heart, believe it or not! I like being swept off my feet! I like flowers! I like cheesy pick-up lines! I like cuddles, god, I really like cuddles... Anyway.
36 - I'm a petite lil' guy. I'm 1m69cm tall... Or 5'8ft.
37 - I have ADHD. I was diagnosed when I was 20. I've been taking meds to help with my lack of focus, and it really has been helping.
38 - I also have insomnia. It isn't as bad as it was a few years ago, but it still sucks.
39 - My favorite song of all time is "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)" by Foster The People!
40 - My favorite movie of all time... It's a tie between Footloose and Burlesque.

43 - In my opinion, my biggest strengths as a person are that I'm pretty charming, I can get along with nearly any kind of person (given enough time), and that I'm notoriously hard to piss off. As long as you're not messing with my loved ones, it takes A LOT to make me actually angry.
44 - And my weaknesses... Well, I let people get away with stepping all over me pretty frequently... And I'm very restless. And I don't mean only physically, I mean like... Mentally. I feel like I'm a shark: If I stop moving, I'll die, y’know? Oh, I've been told that I can be pretty shameless and a bit nosy... And, welp. I... Can't really deny that.
45 - I hate the cold. I hate winter. I hate snow. Fuck you, northern hemisphere.
46 - I really like sitting on the floor, ever since I was a little boy. It just... Grounds me. No pun intended.
47 - My favorite color is blue, but yellow and orange are also lovely... And I've been getting real fond of red these days. Hehe (Can't believe that it took me this long to say my favorite color, we're on fact 47th...).
48 - I'm a dog person! I never got to have one, though...
49 - I, not-so-secretly, really like cute things. I may or may not have a big octopus plushie on my bed. And may or may not love Pompompurin and Gudetama.
50 - I'm overall pretty confident on my looks... Except for my smile and my laugh. My ex-boyfriend (Tristan) once said that my smile is wide enough to be scary, and my mom said that my laugh is too loud, and I've been restraining myself from truly smiling and laughing out loud in public ever since. But I tend to let go when near people I trust.
51 (bonus!) - I have a very sensitive neck... Now, if I see it as a good thing or a bad thing... Depends on what your intentions are... If you know what I mean.
52 (bonus!)² - I'm also pretty great at typing. My words per minute game is insane, modesty aside.

Progress April 2023
Well, lovelies, this month we got a lot of work done! (mostly because I was home sick the whole of April and had some time on my hands whoops). My guess is that when I start work and school again next week, progress is gonna be muuuch slower. I apologize.
Anyway, this is was happened (and I am sure I am missing at least one thing) :
finished editing the prologue and had some people test-read it (with positive reviews so far)
worked on Chapter 1, then decided to add the part I wrote to the prologue
the prologue is now about 2900 words (excluding code, but including choices) and contains about half of the customization choices. It's not a lot content-wise but hopefully good enough to ease the reader into the story. There's some need for reviewing and editing still.
did some overhauling of Faith's appearance to fit the aesthetic of the mood board more (the process involved some very first drawings by my friend)
did the mood boards for each RO, with a little bit of a sneak peek into the introductions within the story (which will come to bite me in the ass, because some of that I made up on the spot)
on the topic of ROs: a council of about 180 people decided that I am going to add a Secret Red Flag RO. Now Red Flag is a bit of an understatement I feel, their route in particular is gonna be dark and borderline toxic (if I can pull it off lmao). A bit of a Bad Ending so to speak. Also possibly an opportunity for a Levan poly? Who knows.
I started getting some very nice asks! That I really liked answering! Keep 'em coming, people! (response might under certain circumstances take a few days tho)
Did some minor construction work on the intro post and the blog in general

Well, I don't know if ever mentioned it before but I'm a self-taught artist like many other people in the art community.
I started drawing as soon as I was able to hold a pen in my hand haha soo.. pretty early I guess. Throughout my childhood I've been drawing traditionally and by the age of 12 (when my mom bought us the first computer) I discovered MS Paint (software that I've been using all these years until today). Due to financial reasons I've never had a graphic tablet (still don't have one today even tho now I can go buy one, I don't need one anymore lol) or any fancy tablets/ devices to digitally draw sooo... I had to learn all the tough work with nothing but a shaky hand and freaking mouse.
I've been passively studying art (anatomy, proportions, shadowing/lighting, color pallets, etc.) just by looking at other digital artist's works for years. I'd always try to understand and memorize their concepts to later apply them in my own art to reach the same effectiveness??? or to basically be able to look at my own art for more than 3 seconds before I irreversibly throw it in a Folder of tears and shame lmao.
Finding a satisfying original style wasn't easy either as I've been fluctuating a lot through years and even months. (there's a big difference in how my drawings looked just 2 months ago and how they look right now). For a very long time I had a 'cute animu' phase... style? that I used to enjoy then it slowly turned into a more 'dramatic/ angsty' style then into a more semi-realistic style that's my current artstyle. I guess I finally found what works the best for me as I'm slowly starting to enjoy my drawings lol. I'm the worst critic to myself but I'm working on it.
Practice.
I make sure that no matter what, I draw something everyday. This is the holy concept that I make sure to apply every single day. It doesn't matter if I'm not in the mood or bored or whatever, I always make time to at least sketch/ doodle something. It helps greatly in the long run and I usually come back to thank myself for doing that.
That's pretty much all I do since I was a kid and discovered digital art. 'Gaze at other's art and practice, practice, practice.'

yes absolutely thank you so much for asking!!! truly I was never actually expecting someone to ask me abt that so I apologize for the late response; I had to organize my thoughts in a way that would actually make sense to other people lol. and I don’t know a ton of killjoy lore anyway so this may or may not make sense but!! oh well!!
soooo this is my killjoysona :DD I have yet to actually draw and color her properly but she’s basically me with cooler hair (she dyes it any time she can find new colors), better style, a dirt bike, and a ray gun. and a cooler boyfriend. her name’s Carbon Cavity. like I said she’s me but awesomer <3

anyways,, so the self ship part comes in when she’s dirt biking around and comes upon an old abandoned department store or something and is like, oh hey. I’ll just pop in there and raid some shit real quick. little did she know the Fab Four got there first and already figured out the building was all locked up so ghoul rigged up a bomb to blow the doors open and uh. had already taken cover for it to go off and it went off when she was like 50ft from the door 😀 so the four came back out and lo! a body on the ground! so they’re freaking the fuck out and she gets back up like wtf just happened?? and the four are like OH GOD ARE YOU OKAY and ofc she can’t hear a thing but her ears ringing bc a fucking bomb went off in her face basically so she ends up hanging around w them in the store til her ears stop ringing quite so much.
so she’s deaf in one ear from that lmao.
but anyhow she ends up following the four back to the diner cuz she’s just been going around crashing wherever anyway, might as well right? 🤷♀️ but turns out she’s cool and they’re cool and they all like each other so much she ended up never leaving hehe,, aaaand she liked fun ghoul the best <33 even tho she still brings up him blowing up a bomb practically in her face <333 (“I DIDNT FUCKING KNOW YOU WERE THERE!!”)
like she flirts by being mean (affectionately ofc) so originally she would just keep bringing up the bomb incident to ghoul to make fun of him kinda,, like she’d volunteer for first watch one night and he’s like no carbon you had it last night, I’ll take it this time it’s fine. and she’s all like “mmmm sorry bub I can’t hear ya that well… had this close encounter with some guy’s bomb going off, see? so I’m deaf in one ear now” and he’s just like 😑 … fuck you carbon. and she just giggles but she lets him take the watch anyway. but yeah so they mess with each other a lot and somewhere along the way they started doing it more for each other’s attention and less to be funny. AND on top of that she’s really affectionate (hugs the guys regularly, has sat in jet’s lap once in the trans am and in kobra’s once on a dare, and has fallen asleep on each of the four at least once), AND has to lean really close to them to hear them better sometimes bc yk. hearing problems. and they’re both kinda stupid so party, jet, and kobra literally figured out the other two liked each other soooooo long before the two even realized it lol.
anyways it all comes to fruition one night when they’re changing watches, carbon taking over from ghoul BUT ITS LIKE RLLY AWKWARD YK BC THEY’VE BOTH FIGURED OUT THEIR FEELINGS BY NOW BUT HAVENT FIGURED OUT THE OTHER PERSON’S,, LFHSKDJFJSK— so carbon heads out to wherever ghoul’s stationed and it’s like. she says hi and he says hey, and she kind of just expected him to hug her goodnight and go after that but he doesn’t so she sits with him in silence for a good while, sorta just waiting for him to go in to bed and also just trying to enjoy this rare alone time w him without overthinking it too much. eventually he scoots a little closer to her and puts his arm around her. she lays her head on his shoulder. still neither of them say anything for another ten minutes or so.
until finally she says, “ghoul?” it comes out quieter than she expected it to.
“hm.”
“you should go in and get some sleep, I’ll be fine out here.”
“mm, yeah… I guess you’re right.” and he nods a little but doesn’t take his arm away; she hasn’t lifted her head from his shoulder either.
another minute of silence. “you cold?”
she looks up at him. “sorry?”
he leans closer and repeats the question. she shakes her head ever so slightly and tries to ignore the way her heart skipped when he leaned down. “oh. no, I’m fine.” they haven’t broken eye contact since he first asked.
“you sure?” he says it quietly on purpose this time. when she inevitably inclined her head to have him say again, he leans in and kisses her cheek instead. (!!!!)
she pulls back slightly to look at him for barely a second, then leans in and kisses him proper !! aaaaaa -
eventually ghoul does go in and sleep :’) but not before a few more kisses and a very sweet confession discussion <3
and in the morning when they all get up, carbon hugs party, kobra, and jet good morning and she gets to ghoul and he kisses her instead <33 to which party goes FUCKING FINALLY YOU GUYS.. and kobra and jet exchange bets across the table,, alrjwkdjd

I read what you wrote about the end of BB and even tho i can't understand it in a personal level i know how important representation is (specially if having it is not the norm or the "common thing") and not being conscious of that, for an author like VA, is disrespecful to the very least.
However I still don't understand quite well the main reason of the problem: what boder you is that Victoria kill the only gay character? That she used their sexuality as a reason to die, not in a homophobic way but in a "people will miss this one more cause of their sexuality" way.

The more time passes, the more I can articulate why this wounded me so much beyond "I'm a sensitive gay" lmao so I'll try to be precise.
In a way, the problem with Ridha's death has nothing and everything to do with her sexuality. It has nothing to do with the cause or the circumstances of it. You see, if we reduce her POV to its basics it's about a flat character whose sole purpose in the story was as a tool for plot progression. Her chapters were never about developing her beyond "Elder princess gathering forces to save the realm". We as readers are supposed to care about her death on the basis that she's one of the good guys and the emotional repercussions it will have for Dom, who loves her. Other than that, I don't see why anybody would find her non-existent personality compelling enough or empathize with enough to truly be devastated by her demise. So, even from a writer's standpoint, it's a "safe" death, rather than tragic.
Readers are not going to "miss it" bc of her sexuality, but bc she was barely in the story. They are mostly going to be relieved their faves were spared. This is fine of course. I'm not pointing fingers. I don't even care if someone says they are glad it was her who died.
The problem is that she was the one character where an element of queer identity made a significant appearance, in a way that was used to build a relationship with another (Lenna, the raider chief), and thus, excitement. And it was used carelessly. In an ideal world, Ridha dying after displaying this deviation from the norm wouldn't mean much. But this is not an ideal world, and it is problematic within the context of the story because while there are other bi characters (Erida, Sorasa, Sigil) and a gay character (Charlon) none of them display their attraction in ways that matter. Both Erida and Sorasa are in M/F romantic storylines, Sigil is casually mentioned having a threesome with another woman, Charlie is in a ~complicated~ relationship (or past relationship) with some guy, and it's not depicted.
Do you see the pattern I'm drawing? It's all so very diverse, but not really. Because the queer storylines are sidelined even though the plotty plot still leaves room for three M/F romances. And I would have been okay with a half-baked F/F romance too, cause my bar is super low lmao, but it was quickly aborted by death.
And here's when the context created by other media comes into play: the percentage of lgbtq+ characters dying is so high in contrast with other characters that you come to expect it. It's a joke in the community, how a character coming out or a same-sex love interest being introduced into a story must mean they are going to die soon.
How would you feel if 9 out of 10 of all the romcoms you love changed the ending so one half of the pair died? you soon would tire of it. You'd grow sick of seeing it.
It's all in the numbers.
Back when I read RQ and Evangeline was revealed to be a lesbian, I was sure she would be dead by the end. It was a given. I was resigned to it like I always am. But then she survives! and not only that but other gay couples were shown and mentioned. When Maven dies it's the tragic natural conclusion of a complex negative arc for a very well-developed bisexual boy. His sexuality matters even when it's not central to the story.
When Ridha dies, the only RB POV whose queerness had any relevance at all in making a weak character somewhat more human, it leaves the number of gay couples at zero (there is the insinuation of an M/NB couple between two tertiary characters, I'll give you that). So, VA just killed 100% of a demographic. And it was my demographic🙃, so that made the death personal even though it wasn't. It made it painful, even though she was a disposable character from the get-go.
That, my friend, is the problem. This whole mess fits neatly into a broader problem of straight writers carelessly disposing of queer characters way more quickly than they would of "regular" ones.
As a straight girl, you're not obligated to care about this or feel angry, but please understand where the pain comes from for those of us who get this ending 99% of the time in media.

ah, i meant bakudeku just as bakugou and deku in that exactly bakudeku moment, so, i know that your art is of them but they feel a little different from how the canon characters feel to me so... hm, idk. obviously it is all personal interpretations, and i totally agree that that‘s like the point :D or one of them lol? it‘s at least super fun, and i think it‘s cool that people branch out like they do as well, watching the same source material but taking away different things from it and idealizing it in different ways for how they‘d want things to be. saying bakudeku really didn‘t make sense in that moment; that refers to the ship. sorry for the confusion!

ohh ok! so basically what i'm hearing is that u like bkdk but in the context of mostly fan art (with all of its fan interpretations), not in the actual series? bc if so that's understandable too — fan content will always dramatize a relationship more than what's present in canon and might make it seem more appealing LOL
haha i have no problem with ppl not liking bkdk as a ship or choosing not to ship it for any particular reason, so no worries! i know lots of bkdks can get pretty territorial over their ship tho, so for ur best interest, i'd recommend not going up to random bkdk artists and talking about krbk out of nowhere ^^' i've met a staggering amount of bkdks who don't like krbk at all (the same way i've met lots of krbks who hate bkdk) so probably best to make sure the bkdk is ok with other ships including bkg and deku. it's smart to play it safe — this fandom is already barely keeping it together with ship discourses and i wouldn't want u caught in the crossfire ( ；´Д｀)
despite the severe amount of bkdk i draw, i am a multishipper, so i don't particularly take much offense to these anon asks. as long as u don't come in slandering what i like then u're good lol. i have few notps so it'd always be nice to see more interactions between characters in the manga :') canon krbk has been pretty dry for ... maybe around 2 years now? oh god. which sucks, but hopefully they'll get some stuff soon !!! rooting for u and ur fellow krbks !!!
and u can read the manga online! i used to use bokunoheromanga.com, but it seems to have trouble with showing older chapter pages — or maybe it's just me. now i just use VIZ for every new update but there are definitely sites dedicated to posting the mha manga chapters whenever they come out! (i only buy certain volumes if they have specific arcs or scenes i like lol)

FINALLY getting to Flash Vol 2, Issue 26 - The Porcupine Man
I know I’m a broken record, but
1. I did read this one a few months ago but didn’t know who literally anyone was.
2. I’m proud to say that I own this one AND the issue that has letters to the editor about it. I’ll prob reference some of those at the end!
Also can I just say? I love this cover. It’s got a guy who is clearly not Wally, it’s a got a monster based off people’s urban legend rumors, it’s got a fat question mark on the title, and it says “Beware the Porcupine Man!” in a funky purple font. It’s basically perfect.
Wait where are they? Why is this place on the verge of running out of food? And why did Mason think they should eat sweets and junk food to combat that? I guess that’s all they’ve got.
If I had to see this panel, then so do you.
I mean, I feel like this sheriff is right to want to know if there’s going to be more super-chaos coming their way.

Needless to say, tensions are high in Swainsville.

Final thoughts:
I do not like the way they draw faces. The art is Rough. But I really love the writing and the little bits of humor and the subtle thrum of melancholy throughout. Tons of fun. And they mystery of Wally’s whereabouts is solved, but it really is just more questions than answers at this point. Gosh it must have been exciting reading these when they came out monthly. Tumblr would’ve had an absolute field day with the reveal at the end.
Like me, it sounds like some of the readers back in 89 really enjoyed the characterizations and quirks given to the supporting characters. Someone mentioned they feel more realistic. Another person said they didn’t like how there was no stability in Wally’s life, or the story, but it seems like we’ll be coming up on some larger arc soon. And yet others really didn’t like how Wally hasn’t reliably had his speed, or even been in the story as of late. So fascinating to see these takes. What’s funny is someone else mentioned Wally's dad being dead, and I tend to forget that at the time, that’s what everyone thought! Anyway, I just really, really love reading these. It’s like one of the highlights. It makes me feel like I’m reading along with other fans.

Usually I always find something for them, but now... Nothing. Not for these 3. Somehow. 1. What originally drew me to it
I feel like I probably had heard of resi in gaming circles before, but never paid attention because there was no way I'd be allowed to play it in the house while I was a teen so I didn't bother. BUT I remember when re7 was coming out, and it was the first time I'd seen a AAA horror game made with the intention for VR. It was just very interesting to me, and a lot of the gaming channels I watched played the first couple of sections, but never enough to give the full story LMAO. After that tho, I had a background interest in resi and was waiting until I moved out to start playing. Then I remember when re2make was coming out, and it looked SO COOL. I definitely wanted to play that one, a bit more than 7 if I'm being honest lol, but the only current gen console I had was a switch and I don't think the resi ports were out on it at that time (and fuck playing it on the switch!) So I saved up for a ps4 during the pandemic, managed to get the last one in stock and slowly bought all the resi games and played during my uni break. IT WAS SOOOO MUCH FUN and even though 7 isn't necessarily my favourite (and I'm not buying vr lol) it was super fun and felt satisfying when I got up to it when playing (mostly) in order.
Once I started playing, the draw was, and continues to be, that it has certain mood and aura that comes from it being a survival horror, and that I really enjoy the simple and cheesey plots (of the early games in particular!) It's a great time and I'm looking forward to replaying everything soon
2. What I like most and least about it
What I like most is the early numbered titles, the setting of raccoon city having the ever looming umbrella hanging over them and trying to figure out what the hell lurks underneath the surface is super compelling and I enjoy how it both takes itself seriously and is pretty goofy. The characters are all pretty great across the series and because it's been such a long franchise, even if I don't love every entry, it's SUPER fascinating to see how much the series has changed and evolved, and how that ties into certain trends and interesting historical points for gaming as a whole.
What I like least is how sloppy the story gets as it goes on and how they do not handle their main protags very well, ESPECIALLY THE LADIES. Once umbrella fell, the over arcing story has been such a mess cause it lacks the focus that 'umbrella in raccoon city' gave the story. And you can see that they kinda know this and the absence of umbrella is clearly felt cause they keep making up stuff to either stand in as a new umbrella type antagonistic force, or make up stuff to link back to umbrella in incredibly convoluted ways. I think the downfall plot wise actually started with re4, but 4 was such a campy and fun game that it didn't matter to most people so it was kind of an exception (myself in included) but because it couldn't be replicated in whatever went down in 5&6, THAT'S when people generally started to notice. These games can be so messy as they go on and I personally feel that if the game feels like it's punishing you for paying attention or deliberately crafting gotcha moments to give a plot twist that's only a shock in that moment, not anything that's actually a satisfying twist, that it's dumb and bad!! There's still things to like in the entries I don't really like that much, but it's clear to me that the Devs felt lost without a clear looming threat like umbrella, and that they don't know what to do with their main characters and either push them aside or just absolutely butcher them on screen. Leon is one of the only exceptions but even then....lol. and let's not talk about the screen adaptations LMAO

i am here preaching about going out of the house and having fun as if i hadn't seen the light of the sun in like a week lmao
on a bright note, i have all the night for myself!! (and since for some reason the uni's database decided it was a good idea to cancel my reservation for tomorrow's exam i won't be able to take it so... yeah that sucks but at least i can get a good night's rest instead of being anxious and all)
chinese is so hard lmao ;;; it's also harder if you're a dumbass like me that decided that four languages were not enough and i needed to expand my field or something with brand new ones (?) but oh well if everything goes according to plan by the end of uni i'll be able to understand genshin in all its dubs! small victories
zhongli is THE expensive dad but we all love him for that. honestly, i myself would rather have him as a sort of weird and wise mentor than a love interest, but ngl i'd just have him read books to me every night to lull me to sleep. i'd pay for his osmanthus tho! yesterday i made osmanthus tea syrup and made bubble tea out of it and it was delicious lmao
no guarantees a sexy adeptus is in the package with the almond tofu making but if you do see him tell him to come here too and say hi. we have uhhhh sweets and air con.
albedo and kazuha and flowers!!! and scara too ;;;; personally tho my favourite aesthetic for scara involves a face full of makeup: like almost theatre-like bold lines and glossy dark red lipstick and fair skin and slightly smudged black eyeliner to make his eyes look even shinier and a long silk dress with flowy sleeves ;;; or him with all those fake rhynestones you can glue to your face!! honestly i'd see all the genshin short men with those on tho. a fancy sparkly bunch of angels who could totally kick your ass to oblivion and look gorgeous while doing it.
have i talked too much? i probably did. but that's a-okay bc i am trying to get inspo to flow so maybe for once i will actually write something longer than three lines :') and ye second reminder the childe piece was indeed real cute, no matter what everyone else has or doesn't have to say <3
also!!! on the last note i don't really think you need to be a deity of makeup applying to look good in it. i know i'm not but just putting random shades on or drawing heart shapes on my face with eyeliner already makes me feel that much more happy ig. small victories <3

Yes, just - I would love to drink tea and discuss the wonders of the world with him, listening to his voice for hours on end. Zhongli would be perfect at ASMR if that’s your thing, that smooth voice just talking and talking about nothing in particular (IN ALL THE LANGUAGES - Zhongli just has THE best voice in the game in all of the dubs. That’s just impressive.) I’ve never had bubble tea,,, or much tea at all really. Is there any you personally recommend? I’ve been wanting to get into it for a while but just never really knew where to start or look.
When you described the Scara make up, it instantly reminded me of Yun Jin, they both look so pretty with a face full of really theatrical heavy make up;;;; Rhinestone’s make everyone look beautiful I s2g, like just under the all the rim of your eye? That’s just a look that can’t be beaten. (If I had more confidence, I would definitely look like that;;;)

tweek's soul room is a coffee shop that's always stuck in rush hour, with tweek behind the counter frantically trying to fill orders (which instead of being coffee and drinks tend towards his responsibilities/fears etc). craig gets a work apron whenever he enters n helps to fill the orders.
in weapon form craig counteracts tweek's shaking. well in his hands at least. other weapons just end up getting their brains blended in tweek's hands
butters' soul room is tfbw themed. he's in his professor chaos getup n kenny's dressed as mysterion. never worked out the symbolism on that one but y'know. hot girl shit.
either kenny or butters get the black blood. well i guess technically both since they resonate but y'know not decided who gets it first.
either kyle or stan's soul room is sot themed. probably kyle's. he seems like the kinda bitch to have a fully fleshed out fantasy universe in his head.
also i changed my mind again abt who's weapon n who's meister in that relationship bc i played sot and now stan's the weapon like i originally planned. this is entirely because the right-hand-man/bodyguard role stan plays to kyle in that game is like everything to me
oh fun fact; kyle n cartman r a compatible pair but kyle refuses to partner with him on principle. this is entirely bc i think it's very funny.
cartman's probably also compatible with butters, n usually cons him into partnering together whenever kenny's not there. sorry-not-sorry cartman lovers he's just a miserable little leech guy to me. he's compatible with whoever i think is funny at the time

↳ pt.1
— TENDOU
• let’s get things straight from the beginning: you will fall off the bed more than once because tendou definitely has a love-hate relationship with the covers
• he’ll start his night comfortably tucked in while his arm lays on your waist, but as soon as he starts to get a bit too hot he’ll whirl his way out of the covers, before getting too cold and taking them back
• at least he always helps you get back on the bed to make amends. it’s also the perfect moment to ask for as many cuddles as you want, he just can’t say no
• tendou has a vivid imagination which leads him to have incredible dreams every night and he is always super excited to tell you about them in the morning
• but he’s even more excited to tell you about his nightmares because he thinks they’re fascinating. sometimes he’s even too impatient to wait until morning and wakes you up by gently shaking your arm
• “a nightmare? aww come here... you’re ok now” you’d wake up feeling concerned. “yeah i know, i’m perfectly fine! i just wanted to tell you about it! ready? okay so first there was this huge shadow behind me and-” “i swear to god tendou…”
• he’s actually so into it that no matter how sleepy you are, you always listen until the end
— SUGAWARA
• ok but suga could spend hours looking at you sleeping in his arms, studying every feature of your face like he was to draw it from memory right after
• but he’s afraid that you might get scared if you ever noticed, so as soon as he feels like you’re about to wake up he closes his eyes and pretends to be sound asleep
• he’s really bad at it tho and always ends up half-opening an eye after ten seconds to check if you’re awake or not
• he’s not a picky sleeper at all but he does have a few habits to guarantee him a good night’s sleep. and on top of the list is you playing with his hair, it’s like an out-of-body experience for him
• he also likes to rest his hand on your tummy because it’s really comfortable and always warm (and bonus point : he can poke it if you’re being a smartass before going to sleep)
• he’s overall a pretty calm and peaceful sleeper, but if his phone rings in the middle of the night then i pity the poor soul on the other end of the line. because yes, suga values his own sleep, but he values yours about ten times more
— KAGEYAMA
• when kageyama sleeps with you, he’s here to sleep. well, he was at first, because the more you asked for cuddles, the more he was into it, until he turned out to be the one asking for them
• but if you ever tease him about how he’s starting to become a softie, he won’t hesitate to trap you under the covers until you admit your defeat
• he’s another member of the heavy sleeper squad, he literally wouldn’t be bothered if you were in a zoom call right next to him
• please rub his shoulders before going to bed because this boy practices way too hard way too often. actually, rub his arms and legs as well. and his head. yeah, you get me
• in return, he’s more than happy to give you hands or scalp massages, mainly because he’s amazed at how he can feel you instantly relax under his touch
• no matter how far your bodies are from each other when you sleep, your heads are always rather close and you can feel his breath on your neck every night
• i think i’ve already said that in a hc but kageyama would much rather sleep in your bed than his because it’s 10x more comfortable to him, especially if you have fluffy blankets or soft pillows
— IWAIZUMI
• iwa’s best nights are spent sleeping on your chest, no doubt about that. he loves that your heartbeat is the last thing he hears before sleeping
• like suga, he will fight anyone who disrupts your sleep. i have a feeling he has sharp skills in throwing pillows at people’s faces
• sometimes he surfaces from his slumber for a few seconds and, half-conscious, he places lazy kisses on your skin before going back to sleep right away
• there are some nights when he’s too agitated to fall asleep, but instead of turning around in bed and risk waking you up he gets out of the bedroom to sit in the kitchen or the living room until his mind calms down
• but when you tell him that he doesn’t need to go this far just for you, he realizes that maybe the solution is to get closer to you and not further. so now you know that if his grip ever tightens around you, it means his mind is racing
• when it comes to night clothes, iwa will not wait for you to borrow his t-shirts or hoodies, he’ll straight up give them to you or lay them on the bed. because nothing could make him prouder than to see you wear what’s his
• last detail: if you guys sleep together pretty often, then he’ll most definitely call you while doing grocery shopping just to ask you which soap scent you’d prefer him to use (he really wants you to have the best nights ever ugh this man>>)
— ATSUMU
• i hope you like being held because atsumu won’t break contact between you at any time of the night
• some nights he’ll make do with the timeless big spoon/little spoon (he quite enjoys being the little spoon but you’re not allowed to tell anyone) but what makes him really happy is to have his arms wrapped around you with your head in the crook of his neck
• (more often than not, one of his hands wanders to your butt - but he always says that it’s an “involuntary sleep movement”)
• like i said in osamu’s hcs, i’m pretty sure the miya twins have solid communication skills when they’re asleep. but while samu makes constructed sentences, atsumu just grumbles totally unrelated words and it’s pretty hard to even understand the main theme of his dream
• also, this man refuses to sleep in a cold room. but if he has no choice he’ll be the biggest drama queen and will put on twice as much clothing (although he has to admit that it’s nice to actually have a reason to hold you super close)
• some nights it takes him a bit longer to fall asleep so he’ll keep himself busy by brushing your arms and hands with his fingers, he’ll find himself drifting off in no time
• if he’s up before you, he’ll try to let you sleep for as long as you want. but he can’t promise that he won’t make as much noise as he possibly can, just because he’s too impatient for you to wake up
