i kinda don't want it to (my opinion). their codependency-based dynamic is so much more interesting than some cheap "romance" chapter would ever be, and i think that what pelle feels for øystein doesn't reach the romantic spectrum at all, perhaps it did in the past (probably not) but he couldn't dream of anyone else that isn't his boyfriend right now. it's just the euro/pelle in the tags that is a bit eerie for me, but i adore it when you approach their relationship. probably my favorite thing in your story since i'm not the most romantic person ever... not that i don't enjoy analyzing varg's and pelle's feelings for each other, that's probably the biggest highlight in something rotten, i jus enjoy the chaos a lot lol

The real answer is that I do, indeed, want to stick to the codependency aspect only. It goes much deeper than any type of secondary romance. Their current feelings are so amalgamated, I don't even think that I can put a name to them.

Øystein feels jealousy (of course) because he is possessive and entitled (he met Pelle first), and Pelle has random 'flashbacks' about his time alone with Øystein before Varg entered the picture. Things are murky because of how they started and how weirdly they evolved. Now that Øystein found out about Varg and Pelle, things are going to change forever.

Pelle is deeply in love with Varg, but his codependency with Øystein holds him back. He can't fully move on, at least not now. He's trapped and he won't tell.

I only put the 'eurodead' tag because I didn't know if to put it or not. I mean, there's definitely 'something' (a previous curious-romantic aspect) going on, an implication of Pelle and Øystein's bond, but it's very subtile, very ambiental.

I also love chaos lol. The latest chapter I published set off a new bomb of drama ✨️
