thursday, august 10 day 4: last minute confession (@benthan-week-forever)

Benji sat in front of his laptop, tears streaming down his face.

He had just heard Ethan confess his love for him over the coms - and then the line went dead. Dead. Like Ethan, he thought.

The blonde was beside himself with grief.

He tried and tried and tried to get a hold of the other one, but there was no response. Benji was consumed with worry and fear, not knowing what had happened to the man he loved.

As he sat there, lost in his thoughts, memories of Ethan flooded his mind. He remembered the way the brunette looked at him, the sound of his voice, the touch of his hand. He realized how much he loved Ethan, and how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with him.

Benji sat there for what felt like hours, waiting for any news about his partner..

Finally, the coms line crackled to life, and Ethan's voice came through.

"Benji, are you there?" he said, his voice rough.

Benji was overjoyed to hear his voice, bursting into tears once again.

"Ethan, I thought you were dead," he said, his voice choked with emotion.

"I'm okay, Benji," Ethan replied, "I made it out alive, thanks to you."

There are SO many cool interactions and lore things we can look forward to now that Rubius says he'll come back to QSMP (not only as an angel / demon, but potentially as a human too!), but that little detail reminded me of something:

Even though q!Vegetta and q!Rubius were mutually interested in each other wayyyy back in the beginning of the series, as an Angel / Demon, Rubius said he can't have relationships with humans because it's against the rules.

But a bit ago on stream, Rubius said that he's thinking about having a "human" side so he can build and do more things on the server as a regular player. I'm excited because this means he can have more casual interactions with people and we can see him interacting with his friends more (and he can experience The Horrors), but also...

I think we're in for some very interesting drama in the next few weeks.*

* ( Assuming Rubius doesn't get harassed off the server by toxic shippers and weird fans of the Eggs again. Please be nice to Rubius and welcome him back kindly, he's a very cool guy and his character is SO interesting )

So like. It’s been bothering me so ima just say in my mind the root of their dynamic isn’t respect or trust at this point (tho Akutagawa has grown to feel both for Atsushi). It’s equality, specifically from Atsushi’s side. There’s a reason Atsushi feels most confident when he’s fighting Akutagawa and there’s a reason he doesn’t lay down and take his shit talking and even dishes it back. I stand by that there are parallels to be found between Akutagawa and the headmaster but what’s so important is that power imbalance isn’t one of them. That’s what sets Akutagawa apart as a ‘tormentor’ in Atsushi’s life. Which. He was. Idk about y’all but their incredibly violent meetings initially always being initiated by Akutagawa himself kinda gave tormentor.

YEA they’ve grown a shit ton but even Atsushi wasn’t sure what he thought Akutagawa would have to say to him. And that’s part of what makes that scene so significant to begin with! Because where the headmaster was a looming figure of judgement that Atsushi couldn’t shake, Akutagawa, despite everything and Atsushi’s very negative view of him, is someone who helps guide him forward.

In an AU somewhere in my mind, Shino and Sasuke grow up as besties, and even if Hinata's crush on Naruto was more obvious, I would think Shino is just a really observant dude and Sasuke is, at his core, a bit more of a dumbass than others realize.

I feel like sawashiro’s too emotionally stunted or like. Emotionally traumatized to be able to cry anymore, but i dont doubt he probably felt the world crash after hearing bout masato’s passing. I mean how could he not be devastated by that: he made it his whole life’s purpose to protect and take care of masato as much as he could, and the moment he stepped away from doing all of his bidding next thing he knows it his son’s dead, and he can’t even attend his funeral

Evidently, sawashiro seems to be doing A LITTLE better than when we last saw him in Y7, but we ain’t ever gonna fully know what’s up with him til infinite wealth comes out

I firmly believe that Colin Robinson does remember the last year.

If I turned into a baby and my roommate changed my diapers for a year and then accidentally gave me daddy issues I would also pretend it didn't happen. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to look them in the eye ever again.

Besides, even though Colin Robinson had been Baby Colin for a year, he's not anymore. He still has his memories, but now he's 100 years Colin Robinson and 1 year Colin. Baby Colin is just a part of him, but not the core anymore, like it was for the past year. To himself, he's not Baby Colin anymore, he just has his memories.

And he can't be Baby Colin for Laszlo either (and I imagine doesn't want to be treated like a child either). I think giving Laszlo false hope would be more cruel. He needed to shut that shit down quick, so he did.
