Starkid Innit Setlist Discussion (avpsy)
Ahhh 3 weeks to go!!! I really need to speed up on this please bug me if I'm taking too long :///
Here's the discussions on songs from:
avpm
mamd
avps
starship
hmb
What would be your absolute top choice 'it probably won't happen but I will go feral if they perform this' song?
Gotta be I Was
That song is INCREDIBLE like it's so emotionally impactful and Clark has such a great voice but realistically it's not gonna happen without Joe. I will forever be frustrated that I hadn't developed a full appreciation for this song when they performed it at leakycon london
2. What would be your realistic top choice? Like you'd love to see this song AND you think they might actually perform it?
Sidekick is always a great time and I'd love to see Joey perform it in 2024. Like I was so impressed when he sang this originally in avpsy because his voice had improved so much and it's improved EVEN MORE since then so I think he'd smash it
Having said that I reckon they're much more likely to go with as cool as I think I am or made in america for a Joey solo
3. Which songs from avpsy do you think will actually make it on the setlist
Honestly I'm v unsure on the answer to this. They performed LOADS of avpsy songs at leakycon london but idk if that's because they really like those songs or just because it was the most recent show
Personally this album is a lot of skips for me and I'm not convinced we'll get any avpsy songs... my best guess would be sidekick or wizard of the year (I think Corey could smash this tbh) but I think the most likely scenario is 0 avpsy songs sorry

LET ME TELL Y’ALL WHY THIS IS THE BEST WILLIAM AFTON LOOK EVER
The thing is, he looks normal. Which is a good thing. He looks like the kinda guy that looks almost too normal not to be suspicious. He’s not some over the top villain or looks excessively evil or malicious at first glance. Which is brilliant, because if he did no child ever would approach him let alone follow him into his little murder room. He’s approachable. No kid is gonna look at this guy and think “oh he wants to murder me”. No, they’re gonna see some old guy who probably wants to hand them extra faztokens and pat their little naïve heads and send them on their way. This take on ol’ willy the purple people stabber is subtle enough to be a passable member of society but juuuuuuuuuuuust off enough to where the hair on the back of your arms stand up when he’s around, and that’s only if you know what to look for or already know his reputation.

exam 5 for me... tomorrow!
honestly have been feeling really nervous for this exam since my classmates have either failed it or just barely passed. and i had less time to study this time around because i rushed to book the exam.
so i drew this little encouragement early cuz i need the reminder that no matter what happens tomorrow, i did what i could and i didn't compromise on my boundaries—and that is its own victory.
and i hope that you'll be reminded to celebrate your own big and small victories too!
"You are nervous and that's okay! You did your best! You set boundaries! You took breaks! We're so proud of you, Starlight! Whatever happens, we'll always be here, cheering you on!"

he was my mentor
Image ID: watercolor-style art of Darius Deamonne, Hunter, and a previous Golden Guard from The Owl House. The right of the image is cast in dark purple shadows, and shows Hunter scowling and pointing a finger at an adult Darius, who looks away angrily. Purple footprints of abomination residue lead away from Darius, and onto the left half of the image, which is in a warm golden hue. It shows a school-age Darius and a previous Golden Guard with wild hair standing together, in front of a statue of Belos. End description.

In district court, the case was assigned to David Hittner, a Reagan appointee in his eighties. One of the main points of contention was whether drag constitutes artistic expression, and is therefore deserving of First Amendment protection. On the stand, the state’s attorney repeatedly questioned Montez about twerking. “He finally said, ‘Well, can you demonstrate for us what twerking is?’ ” Montez recalled. It seemed to him that the attorney was trying to needle him to admit that the dance style was obscene. “I looked at my attorney, and she didn’t object,” Montez said. “And I looked at the judge, and he said, ‘Well, you haven’t heard me say you can’t.’ So I got off the stand, and I did it, in my suit and tie.”
(Afterward, friends told him that he’d probably made history as the first person to twerk in federal court.) Montez told me that the moment was galvanizing. After he came out, at age thirty, he had vowed never to let himself be silenced again. “It really was one of those moments where I felt like I took back my power,” Montez said. “Because I wasn’t embarrassed. I wasn’t shy. And then I got right back on the stand and kept answering just as good as I was before. It didn’t throw me off at all. And I would do it again.”
The moment seemed to have impressed the judge. “Darn it, it was interesting,” Hittner said, at the trial’s conclusion. “That’s one thing why the job never gets tiring: you learn about different things and different folks and different science every day.”
