I think one of the most unintentionally funny things in The Witcher season 2 is that Jaskier releases THE breakup album of the year (Her Sweet Kiss? Burn Butcher Burn? Jaskier babygirl what other breakup tracks did you write👀) and Geralt... does not even hear any of it. Has no clue. He's too busy being on the run with Ciri. Jaskier is out there musically besmirching his ex's name and his ex's ex's name and Geralt just does not even know it. Hilarious

ugh I just saw a still of Valdo Marx in s3 and i am not a fan. I don't understand why they cast him anyway, he's funnier as a throwaway line.

no yeah like the actor looks perfectly fine to me, like, he seems like a nice enough guy! but strongly in agreement that he's way funnier as a guy who is heard of but never seen. i think making him a known quantity makes him less interesting, and confirming any character for him just kind of dries up the well, creativity-wise. i guess maybe not the fairest thing i could say, since a character doesnt and shouldnt exist simply to fuel fan reinterpretations, but that is my feeling on the matter. also unfair because i wouldnt mind a tw3 expansion where aiden came back to life and we got to meet him, but also tw3 has a better track record with inventing worthwhile characters. So. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Okay bear with me here–Dijkstra should have been Jaskier's weird crush in S3, not Radovid.

Radovid turns out to be SO awful, anybody who goes to the games after the show is going to be perplexed and sad. Radovid begins and supports a witch hunt that moves seamlessly into an attempted genocide. I'm restarting the third game because I accidentally messed up the chance to assassinate him because when he's gone the world becomes provably better. He's a monster.

They had to age him up and change his relationship with the king from son to brother, both of which mean there's no real regency and any of his ire at Philippa and Dijkstra manipulating him is going to be plainly stupid and make him a worse person in the end, because he's an adult man when he assumes the throne and he should be able to think for himself.

Jaskier's astonishment at his own feelings is weird and rushed. Maybe I'm too ace for this but I don't understand the distinction between the way he seemed to be pining over people before and the way he pines over Radovid. I feel like a more interesting choice would have been for Jaskier to get caught up in the force of personality of someone who's not traditionally pretty and swooning over him.

I really like Philippa's outfit for this meeting, and the fact that it is very clearly Not Matching the general Redanian aesthetic. The costume department this season is really Killing It. (Interestingly, it is matching, or at least similar to Jaskier's...)

He does seem stressed. His poor head is going to explode. I wonder whose fault that is?

i still don't get ciri's dad secretly being the main villain. or the main villain being secretly ciri's dad. it seems like it should be common knowledge that the king of nilfguard was married to a princess of cintra? i think i'm missing wayyy too much background info for this to make sense
