I have a theory that the first 5 vols of majo to yajuu are gonna get animated
Mainly bc thats a good stopping point (imo) for the anime, and it’s when we get properly introduced (well sort of) to Angela, yknow. The main antagonist.
It wouldn’t make sense for us to see Guideau and Angela meet for the first time in however long, and then end, bc there’s not really any sort of fight between them, given Guideau’s condition, but it also doesn’t make sense for us to not see her at all.
plus it leaves a decent amount of material for a s2 if it gets greenlit for it.
WHAT MY HOPEFUL THINKING LEADS TO HOWEVER IS ASHAF TELLING GUIDEAU THAT HE WANTS TO TEACH THEM WHAT LOVE IS AND THAT BEING ANIMATED MIGHT JUST KILL ME
Its such a turning point (imo) for their relationship
Like ik for a fact that the 4 levels below arc wont get animated (in s1), if we’re lucky we’ll get a sneak peak of it, but goddddd im really hoping we see Ashaf and Guideau meeting at the least

a moment in mty i think is funny is in the new arc with the witches' disciples coming to abduct the forbidden instrument. guideau says she'll choose to be a disciplined adult and wait for the chance for revenge, but promises to get this new witch back later if they're friends with angela, prioritizing protecting and getting the nameless seed child away from the situation, without ashaf insisting first, and then the child just suddenly fucking shoots a beam or whatever right at the witch

what do you think about the beast in STP?
It took me a while to really get a handle on the Beast, especially because, from what I can tell, there's only one not-immediately-intuitive way to get to her. The predator/prey dynamic is obvious, of course, but what does it mean? What is the game doing with this dynamic?
But I think I have an answer.
The Shifting Mound and the Long Quiet were once one, the god governing the cycle of life and death, transformation and evolution, and the Beast and Witch both embody more instinctual aspects of this cycle.
Where the Witch embodies a 'kill or be killed' kind of paranoia, she is still very much built on equal power exchange (for all that the Blade gives you the initiative within the larger dynamic, the Witch is as capable of killing you as you are of her). She outright calls you both similarly wretched beings, after you've had to betray her in Chapter 1 just to get to her.
The Beast is similarly, well, bestial, and to get to her, you also have to betray her. The narrative for this betrayal is a little different, however. You have to start by leaving your Blade behind, but still expressing some suspicion of the Princess. Then, when she starts showing non-human behaviour (gnawing at her own arm), you take the first opportunity to stab her, finding it proof of your suspicions.
And, most crucially, this betrayal has to fail.
You have to give up. In the other route, this might lead to the Tower, a god to your smaller presence, but in the more instinctual, bestial version, you create a predator/prey dynamic, expressed within you by the Voice of the Hunted joining you.
From there, it's interesting that you, as the prey, get to have the choice in how the resulting confrontation plays out, because the Beast operates on instinct. She has a role to play, you have a choice to make. She just wants to eat you, and you get to decide how to deal with this.
And you get to explore all the main prey strategies: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn play dead, all of which work great!
There are two wrinkles here, however. The first is that the Beast is not pure instinct. Her bestial instincts obviously play a big role in how she acts, and leaves her just as impossible to reason and work towards a mutually beneficial resolution with as the Witch (after ll, she's the predator, and she needs to eat), as she herself points out, but she still points this out. She is still sentient, does still have things to say for herself (is still hurt by your betrayal).
And the second is that she needs you for something else. She doesn't just want to eat you, she wants to swallow you whole so you're still alive when she tries to get out of the cabin, and to that end, the power dynamic continues once she's swallowed you.
Because there the question becomes whether or not you can hold out or hurt her more than she hurts you, to deny those higher brain functions, those non-instinctual impulses what they want.
The Den is the Beast truly reduced to something non-sapient, and she becomes pitiable as a result, and the Wild is where the Witch and the Beast meet in trying to bury the mutual animosity by trying to go back to a past neither can truly remember.
The Beast, ultimately, is notable in that she isn't a beast, isn't just the predator/prey dynamic made manifest, part of the instinctual cycle of life and death, in that there's still some higher purposes determining her actions, her role, and the choice you get to make is whether or not they're worth maintaining.

The Hunted + Broken Wild chapter can be found by not taking the blade during the Beast chapter, getting swallowed, and trying to claw your way out (ironically, I kept getting this pairing when I was trying to get Hunted + Cheated)
Some other pairings include:
-Hunted + Skeptic: Don’t take the blade during the Beast chapter (not sure if this works if you do take the blade? I haven’t tried), keep asking questions and dodge/survive when you get the option to. This eventually leads to the Den chapter.
-Opportunist + Stubborn: Take the blade during the Witch and [Slay the Princess]. When the option appears, [Go out fighting.] This leads to the Wild chapter.
^ While I was trying to recreate this one, I found out that you can actually get another Cheated + Opportunist pairing??? After you try to kill the Witch the first time, you can either surrender and die or keep talking to her (both lead to getting crushed) and it leads to the Wild. I jumped out of my chair when I saw Cheated’s name on the screen
Oh my gosh THANK YOU anon!!
I did manage to get the Hunted + Broken pair for The Wild, you can actually take the blade so long as you fail to dodge her first pounce and then fail to cut your way out in time. But it's really cool to know there's another way to get it, just by not taking the blade!
Hunted + Skeptic is GREAT to know about! I feel like I actually knew you could get Opportunist + Stubborn at one point and just totally forgot, but Opportunist + Cheated is definitely a new one to me. I was able to confirm all three of these, so thank you so much (they are super fun to know about!) and I will adjust my list appropriately~

About Captain Crow’s Deal with Batterbie, and the Price he Paid
Batterbie is, first and foremost, a witch. Disney witches do not give straightforward deals. (And look, I know this isn’t Disney, but do I really need to point out all the references and character archetypes and their usages and subversions?) Some are more straightforward than other, with Ursula taking Ariel’s legs, but that was never Ursula’s end goal. The witch in brave turned her mother into a bear to fix Merida’s problem. Batterbie, is, by far, the clearest about what she’s costing. Crow just didn’t understand the price. Batterbie straight up told Crow that she would take everything. Specifically including the things Crow was not aware he had. Things Crow was not aware he could lose, even.
See, at the point in the movie where Crow goes to Batterbie, knowing he was giving up his honor, he also thought he’d lost his son. So, he was going to get one thing. His revenge, and in doing so, allow people to continue hunting. He already knew this was his last hunt. But at least he’d get something out of it. (He wouldn’t, of course, but he didn’t know that.)
Now I want to clarify this was not an out of the blue progression of Crow’s character. He was always ready to do the dishonorable thing for revenge, even revenge as simple as an injury. (Assuming his dead light only referred to his missing eye. I am also assuming if he’d lost crew to Red, he’d have mentioned that a bit more.) Crow was willing to leave another hunting ship’s crew to die simply for the chance to kill Red. It’s Jacob that reminds him of his duty and honor. And later, during the fight with Red in the whirlpool, it’s again Jacob that chooses duty and honor, saving the crew and the ship by allowing Maisie to cut the rope. So loosing Jacob lost Crow his moral compass as well as Crow’s vision of the future. This is why I say Crow didn’t think he had anything to lose.
Then Crow uses the god’s hand. And he doesn’t finish it. He doesn’t listen to Sharpe. His crew is already reasonably wary of him. And Jacob is back! Everything is going right. He delivers Red to the king and Queen’s little pond. And Jacob turns on him. Sharpe, “the most loyal first mate who ever lived”, turns on him. The Beast is alive and he can’t kill it. His ship is smashed to pieces, and his crew abandon ship. If you watch that scene again? No one is his crew is helping him. No one is fighting Red. Sure they might be in the water, but surely someone could have made it to some debris and shoot arrows. Anyone. But no. His crew wasn’t willing to fight for him. Then Jacob’s little speech. No more hunting. Maisie’s speech. His entire life, and the life of his father’s before him, was manipulated by the crown for money. He is without history. He is without a future. He has only his life, thanks to a little girl who wasn’t really even trying to save him, but the beast he’s been trying to kill. It’s not even dead. It’s just. He’s alone now. No honor. No one loyal to him. No crew, no ship, no job, no family. Truly. He lost everything.

Rereading the available TCoR chapters after rereading Inkheart is so funny. Throughout the whole first book everyone makes fun of Basta for being superstitious and believing in curses, like an idiot.
Cut to TCoR and 3/4 of the cast is cancelled due to Being Cursed

Spoilers for The Owl House "Edge of the World" also a Long post
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I KNEW IT!!! King's dad is probably fighting with the collector!!!! (well, his army)
GOD DAMN IT, THOSE THEORISTS WERE RIGHT FROM THE START. KING IS A FREAKING TITAN.
I still haven't processed Hollow Mind, how will I ever process this!!?????
There's too much to take!!!!!
We get to see 2 children gets traumatized, and now I think we just saw another one OH GOD.
Okay okay, so...
Eda is worried about both Luz and King, she's worried that Luz will be captured by the Emperor's Coven. This is like Agony of a Witch all over again oh my god.
Could the Titans still have powers even though they're dead??? We knew that witches wielded magic because of the Titan right? Then we saw Luz and co. got teleported to a specific place thanks to a titan's finger.
And that confirmation that King is a titan???? Oh my god, I too thought King is somewhat related to the Titan, but I didn't expected that!! Owl House is really good at giving twists, it's not a big twist but it still makes us shocked. It looked pretty obvious!! King's skull, Phillip being Belos, Hunter is a grimwalker... But damn they still gets us!!
So could King's dad the Boiling Isles' Titan??? I mean... I don't know... Boiling Isles' Titan is old, really old. And that building as well, Lilith said it was really old.
There's too much, the collector??? What is he up to??? Did the Titans trapped him? We saw a mural at King's place (the old building). We saw that a figure that looked like King is fighting something that we thought that it looked like Belos. But what if the figure that looked like King isn't referring to King's dad but a Titan Trapper?? And that place is filled with stars, sun and moon. The Collector is found at the head of the titan. He also said he's trapped beneath the bones of the titan.
There's too much happening oh my god. And they just leave us with a cliffhanger????? What's with Amphibia and The Owl House today LMAO
