Hi hi my love!! ^^ So you asked for asks right? :3 I realize a lot of the times when I send you these I tend to ask you to rank stuff lol so I guess I'll lean into it? How about top 5 (or 10 if you have enough) anime series or top 5 (or 10) animated movies? :3 It's pretty general but I figure it should give you a lot of room to go over some of your favorites ^^ Sending love and good wishes!!! ❤️
ehehe thank you my love 🥺👉👈🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
i wanted to do both but then i did the top 5 anime and i got very carried away with my explanations so i kept it as just that. anyway:
1. haikyuu!! probably my favorite show ever tbh. i think hq has a perfect story, like it uses its genre to do everything right, and its impact on the outside world is amazing as well. as for the series itself, it's just beautiful (ignoring that one episode in season 4) and has a very unique style, stellar voice acting, awesome soundtrack, delicious symbolism, and it really gets you hyped for volleyball :P it's very easy to get attached even to the most minor character bc the story is written in a way that lets almost everyone in this HUGE cast (well over a 100 or even 150 named characters, i'm pretty sure) shine, and you're guaranteed to find someone you like. the only downside is you'll probably end up rooting for every team so eventually a team you like will lose a game (likely to another team you like) and that hurts every time fr. and still!!!!! it manages to be so feel-good and optimistic and really gets you pumped and inspired!!!! i think anyone who is even just open to try sports anime should check it out, it's def one of the most accessible I've seen in that genre (in a sense that it doesn't expect you to already be familiar with the sport to understand the story)
2. honestly?? osomatsu-san. probably bc it's very dear to me like emotionally, season 2 was still releasing when i was stuck in the hospital for a few months, and it was like a light i held onto every week (i was also following a few mangas back then but those were harder to follow. due to oso-san's skit nature it was always a good time) and i mean, ichi was my first f/o before i even knew that term existed hehe. it's one of these shows i wouldn't actually recommend to anyone unless i know they're ok with gross or edgy humor but i do think it's really good, i love how meta it is, and i think it uses its premise to deliver maximum entertainment!
(oh my god that was so much gushing abt a silly skit show i am so sorry <- guy who wrote most of the hq gushing after typing this part up. he was not aware)
3. ok so this one's really niche, idk if any of you have even heard of it heh. it's called bungou stray dogs-
ajdkflhlh while i have my gripes with how they adapt the manga, i do still think it's a very good anime as is. it was good enough to get me hooked on the story and characters and want to learn more and follow the story further, yknow? it's beautiful and i love its use of colors for symbolism, it has really great voice acting, and the energy is kept up throughout it enough to remain engaging. it's honestly a show I'd recommend everyone to at least try 🤔!
4. persona 4!!!! from one mediocre adaptation to a GREAT adaptation. i think p4's anime is really really well made - it manages to translate a game this long into a coherent and interesting story, gives its characters time to shine, and maintains a perfect balance between fun and emotions. also it has probably the best dub I've ever heard. naoto's anime voice dni. also i think episode 26 is a true masterpiece i think everyone should watch it
5. ngl. it's a three way tie for me. between shows i only watched once and don't have a lot of attachment to beyond that, but i think they're really good for very different reasons. gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun / great pretender / blue period. i won't go into details on why i love them all bc this post is already long enough. but if you're reading this you should check them out 🫡
also if this post convinces you to check out any show mentioned here you legally have to tell me ok? esp if you end up liking it 🧐🔥🔥

Alrighty!  Time to get some hate!  Also, keep in mind these are my opinions.  You’re free to like, and feel however you want about whatever you want.
Buuuut, time for some Temple Manga/Manhwa opinions.
Bleach and Naruto are both good at the start, however, they both suffer as the series goes on.  Kubo made it rather apparent that he didn’t even want to continue, this is a series that benefited from the color and action design from the anime as the manga itself is droll.  Everything is just a black ink blot, and he doesn’t do backgrounds.  Also he has the problem of same face.  It’s not good.
Naruto I feel is better, but it’s still not a good series.  I will give Kishi that he’s a good artist though!  His backgrounds were very nice.  I was able to stomach through the end of both of these.  Alright story wise, but kind of meh feel wise.
In comparison O-parts Hunter or 666 Satan, did the Naruto thing but better.  It was done by his brother.  It didn’t feel drawn on, but the battles were fun and the story actually pretty sad.  You can most def see the inspiration from Naruto though.
Dragon Ball, oh god, the anime drags on way too much.  But the manga is a great read.  I think it’s a fun series, but it’s not great story wise.
Hunter X Hunter is held back by the mangaka hard.  I know that he’s sickly, but there’s also the parts where he just doesn’t want to work most of the time.  Which ya know, fair.  It’s possible he doesn’t know what he wants to do with the series anymore, as it’s basically Hiatus x Hiatus.  Unfortunately, the Chimera Arc isn’t great, it takes a way a lto of the creativity that Nen had earlier and just goes into full on battle Arc.  It doesn’t help that the manga art turns into literal sketches at this point.
One Piece, I fucking LOVE One Piece, but it’s long.  And you have to be ready.  It can be a bit of a slow start up, however, Buggy had already drawn my interest from the start.  I do think people over hype how much oda has planned.  I do think he’s winging it a few times.  But it’s got a great feel to it, it’s probably one of the msot fun Manga, which I think is what it’s going for.  Battles, especially early in the time skip, are hard to read.  But what happens in them is amazing.  Also, I’d rather not talk about the anime, I’ll look up clips when I want to see things animated.  It’s just... episodes are drawn out way to damn long!  At least the filler is fun compared to Naruto’s.  Also Backgrounds 10/10 Oda.  This is on my to re=read list.
MHA, I enjoy it, but it hasn’t been enough to keep my attention.  I think it’s a good story, yet somehow, I was able to finish Bleach and Naruto, yet I don’t have the attention span for this series for whatever reason.  I’ll sometimes come back to it, so again, yeah not sure what’s the deal with that.
Berserk is really good, I’m sad about the hiatus and what happened to Miura.  But his friend, the man who did Holy Land, I recommend Holy Land by the way, will be continuing it.  Though, their art styles are incredibly different so I imagine this is going to go vastly different.  One of the things I really enjoy, at least for what it was becoming, is something I enjoy about the more Recent god of War.  Someone who was ravaged by nothing but revenge, finally finding peace in themselves.
Komi Can’t Communicate, It’s cute as fuck.  But it peaked at the second year class.  Year 1 was super annoying, I hate Yamai.  That’s all.
Volcanic Age, this is a Murim styled martial arts Manhwa, so be warned.  It’s better than most!  Like, a lot better, the main character is reasonable, he doesn’t try to be the big bad man and tries to make everyone his enemy.  His knowledge actually feels well earned, compared to most of this type where they’re just gary stus.  Over all a good fun read.
Kingdom:  Fuuuuck, this manga is an emotional ride.  I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s historical fiction.  I enjoy this type of series, ancient warfare, as i was a huge fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms growing up.  I still have the novels!  I suggest giving it a read, it’s really good.
Mashle, this is the over powered MC kind, but unlike One Punch Man, it doesn’t just remove the main character until plot demands it.  It’s about him, because it’s more than just a gag that became popular and now doesn’t know what to do with itself.  It give sthe main character to learn more about things, be more than just himself.  And he’s just a damned good person, if not a bit...k well weird.
Helck and Verndio, these are togther because one is a sequel to the other, and the effects of helck are slowly leaking it.  It’s pretty godlike.  Probably one of my favorites of all time.  Really wonderfully done, and it doesn’t last for very long.  Helck is a, OP main character, but it’s a riveting story!  You get to learn more about their world, and actually how terrifying it is.  In the end, being a single lone powerful figure just isn’t enough.  I really recommend these two.
Solo Leveling, it’s cool.  Like, it has that power fantasy down pat way more than The Gamer.  I’ll give it that for sure.  If you’ve read fics you’ve read The Gamer ones, the Gamer itself isn’t great... by any means.  Solo Leveling is definitely better, but at the same time it falls into the same problem of not being great story wise.  If you’re just in it for fantastic fucking art, and great fights though, this is really good.
On the note of Gamer style though.  Infinite Leveling: Murim.  Another Murim styled, but with stats and leveling for the main character.  This is done well, like fantastically well.  The leveling system is harsh he doesn’t just gain stats after stats, and they’re kept within the people of the world he’s with.  Those around him are truely superior, and the stats feel more like a natural progression of hard work he’s doing to train.  Unlike msot of the Gamer styled manga/manhwa, this one feels like he has to truly work for it, from excercising to training.
Worn and Torn Newbie, this is a game Manhwa, but the main character is fun and such a damn bastard.  You just can’t help but love him.  This series has really good art, and it’s a fun read if you want to just see how things go.  I suggest this one as well.
Return of the lEgendary Spear Knight, Another Manhwa, this is a breath of fresh air!  This one is one of those rare instances where people straight up change when they’re shown the error of their ways.  The world is shown to not be black and white, and characters who appear to be bastards can actually become better people due to the difference of environment.
The Lazy Prince Becomes a Genius.  The title is misleading, but this Manhwa is really damn good.  Probably my favorite Manhwa at the time of this post!  There are some pacing issues, but over all it’s great, and i feel like I’m losing point.
Anyways!
Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun, this will be the last one!  This is just a better RWBy style story.  If you like RWBY you’ll probably like this one way more.  The author fleshes out the characters at a much better pace, they’re all able to do things even if they arent combatants, and unlike RWBY, they feel like genuine friends who have good teamwork.  Story is pretty basic, but it’s elevated by the fun cast of characters who are all incredibly charming.  The main character is also just fun, he gets better and better as the series goes on.  The Rival character, so to speak, makes Bakugo eat dust for sure.
Feel free to tell me off if you want.  Just some thoughts i had when watching a Trash Tastes episode.

I finally watched Yugioh The Dark Side of Dimensions and it was AMAZING~! I’m so happy I was finally able to both finish the original anime recently, and watch the film! Ever since it came out I’ve seen screenshots of it and gifs but knew I wanted to wait until I watched the anime!
!!!(SPOILERS AHEAD)!!!
Seto definitely stole the show! I love how over the top he is, and how he acts so nonchalant about how ridiculous he is! But at the same time I admire him for achieving his dreams (building a space station… sure, why not???). And oh my gosh I actually felt so bad for him…like when Yugi was trying to tell him that Atem is gone…and Seto couldn’t accept that. Because of course he’s grieving Atem in his own way, and doesn’t have the support of friends unlike Yugi. And yet I know that Seto definitely considers Yugi a friend (especially after the events of the movie). That was ridiculously sweet. I’m not a huge Seto fan (I don’t hate him, but he’s not my fav), and yet this film made me understand him better. Oh God, I can’t allow myself to be converted to being a Seto fan ahhhh. Not after having to fight millions of Setos on Duel Links and losing XC to his dumb dragons!!!
Speaking of dumb dragons (sorry but Blue Eyes White Dragons are my enemies after being stomped by them too many times), I liked the dragon designs in the film!!! Very cool! Some reminded me of Stardust Dragon (I think that’s the name). And the new Magicians were cool, especially the Dark Magician variant (I always use that on Duel Links already). And the final card that was played to win against corrupted Diva, coincidentally I’ve been using that in a deck recently so I was overjoyed to see one of my fav cards be the final card that saves the day!!! I had no idea that card was even in the film!!!!!!!
Diva was awesome, and has a fantastic design!!! Definitely an interesting antagonist.
My fav Yugioh character is Yami Bakura (specifically TKB) so now let me talk about Ryou! I LOVED that his father was shown. I actually didn’t know his dad was even in the film. Specifically about what happened to him and his greed. That was super interesting and gives so much more depth to Ryou! But also a lot of questions too! He must have grown up by himself—well not alone, but with the ring! Since I heard somewhere that his mother and sister are also not around… It was excellent that we got to see little Yami Bakura being horrid and scary! I love how creepy he looked!
I am sad we didn’t get to see the Thief King or Yami Bakura (older version). I don’t consider the corrupted version of Diva to have been a portrayal. I guess he had the hair of TKB??? But he didn’t act like either of them. Which makes me wonder if the spirit of Bakura left the ring, so all that was left behind was darkness of Zorc and the ghosts of the village. I think it would have been cool for Bakura and Ryou to have spoken one last time, to mirror Yugi and Atem, but I know that’s what fanfic is for haha.
Anyway, it was a fantastic film! It gave me such good vibes! Hard to describe but it’s the vibes that old Pokémon films give me. It was an excellent sequel to the anime! And now I wish that the original manga would get adapted (I’m still reading that) or that they make a film involving Yami Bakura/TKB. Imagine seeing TKB in the stunning art style of the film ooooh <3
Anyway, I’m gonna treasure this film!!!!!!!!

Yu-Gi-Oh? I heard about them but never seen them. I heard great things about their anime, manga and the card games and some...not so nice thing about the card gamers community. What your opinion on it?
Do you have favourite anime? Mine is Bofuri and Ascendance Of A Bookworm so far since I haven't watch that many anime 😅
Another art related questions, how did you determine your art style? I still figuring out how drawing the 'human' ones work for me. Have to say I like the kind of leaves shape that I called 'hair' on my 'humans'
I would like to you more if you don't mind ☺️ I like how our interactions so far and I hope you do too 💙
Oh I had no idea about the gamer community! 😬I watched Yugioh as a kid but was too poor to buy any of the cards. 😅 I suppose the reason I fell in love with Yugioh is the same reason I fall in love with any other shounen anime: if you pour your sincerity and heart and soul into something, things will happen. Sometimes things don’t always work out - life is full of conflict, but with grit and tenacity, and some luck, you can eventually accomplish anything. That’s what I believe, at least. And it’s how I conduct myself (so much so that I said “fuck it”, quit my job in animation in LA, and moved back to my hometown to start my life over)
Ooohh!! Thank you for the anime recommendations! I’ve been out of the anime/manga scene in the recent years, but I’ll need something to fill up the empty void of silence when I finish my current binge of The Golden Girls lol.
My favorite anime, hmm? I’m gonna blend the line between manga and anime for a bit:
Ghost in the Shell: Innocence (film)
Every single damn thing Satoshi Kon made (films)
Red River by Chie Shinohara (manga)
Blade of the Immortal by Hiroyuki Samura (manga)
Real by Takehiko Inoue (manga)
I love so much other stuff, too, but I would say that these works influenced my art the most.
Art style. OH GOD ART STYLE. Sighhhhh, the conversation of art styles is a big one. I’ve struggled with this topic for years so I don’t necessarily have a cute, succinct, witty answer.
My personal journey with my “style” was always toxic. And it’s hard, starting out as an artist, to already have a specific style/voice. You don’t really have the mileage for it. It takes experimentation, failure, problem-solving, and sheer volume of work before you usually find the rhythm in your linework or a sense of shape design that defines you.
But we live in an age where it’s all about branding and image and as students we were all pushed straight from the get go in art school to find our voices ASAP. And I think in that high pressure environment, surrounded by so many different, unique, vibrant voices, I choked.
Even when I left art school and started my first gig in the industry, I didn’t really have a “style”. And that ate away at me. Imposter syndrome is a hell of a beast to battle. No matter what my supervisor said, I didn’t ever believe I was good enough.
But I kept going. As a story artist, I focused on training my gesture drawing, but I always loved oil painting. So I kept both up. I remember driving 3 hours one way to attend an atelier in San Diego to train with these amazing fantasy illustrators every Sunday. They taught me to slow down, to look - it was a different way to observe the world. There are so many veteran artists to learn from, and I did my best to chase them down and learn from them.
If I had to define myself, I would say that I draw like a painter. I’m sure my style will continue to shift as I absorb more and more of the world.
Gosh, this was long, I am so sorry 😬 Also - you do you, boo. If you wanna draw leaf-like hair, do it! Play! Have fun! Keep figuring yourself out. I support you!!

Year in Review: Movies Pt 2
No longer promising consistent posts. From now on, these come out "bi-weekly," which means whatever I want it to, and written by your weekly bi. I am the only person to have ever thought of that joke.
Robin Hood (2010)
This is the one with Russell Crowe. I honestly don't know how I finished this one. I guess because my dad wanted to watch it. This is supposed to be a gritty, realistic take on the classic Robin Hood story. Or at least, I think that's what they were going for, it feels like the director can't decide between gritty realism and the goofiness that comes with the concept of the Merry Men. They're constantly cracking off one-liners and stealing from rich people with goofy disguises that feel more like pranks, but there's also an entire bloody battle scene between "Robin of the Hood" and King Richard that I cannot for the life of me remember the context nor conclusion of. I guess you could say it has both elements wrapped in one neat package, but it doesn't do either of those aspects really well.
Two most memorable scenes for me involve a blind man kicking surprising amount of ass in a sword fight, though ultimately unsuccessfully, and Little John clarifying to the bee-keeping Friar Tuck that NO! He does NOT have a "Little John." (as in small penie). The cast is kind of stacked in this movie, (Cate Blanchett as Lady Marianne, Oscar Isaac as King Richard, the Crow-man as The Hood) and they all give great performances, if that's what you're after, but overall it's kind of forgettable.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
The rest of this entry's list follows a second movie marathon I had with some friends as we prepared for a showing of "Across the Spider-verse" we were watching the morning after. Why does that mean two anime movies and a classic Eddie Murphy comedy? I don't know! It was fun though. And that's all I can really say about this movie. It was fun! Nothing amazing. The plot follows the tertiary return of the Red Ribbon army, who are once again on that robot shit, and Piccolo trying to get his foster son, Gohan, to stop being a nerd (having a secure, well-paying career as an entomologist? Apparently?) and be a martial artist again. He does this by constantly putting his foster son's daughter (foster granddaughter?) in mortal peril to make Gohan snap and break stuff like he did in the old days. This is, hilariously, played as a uncritically good deed and that Piccolo was right to do this. I love Piccolo though, so he can do whatever he wants, Pan seems like she's having a great time being in peril.
The animation is fantastic, as per usual with high-budget anime movies these days. They opted for a 3D style that blends in nicely with the artstyle they've been using for Super. The fight scenes are choreographed in a way that reminds me of the Dragon Ball games they've put out in recent years, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Fighterz team worked on this. Oh wait, I have the power of the Internet in my Grasp.
...
WOW! Trying to find a comprehensive list of animators is hard as fuck! Cool! I ended up pausing through a video of the credits for both pieces of media. God I wish I could ctrl+f on a video. There may have been some overlapping names I overlooked, but I guess it wasn't largely the same people, oh well! If anyone knows a better way to find this information, please let me know!
Jujutsu Kaisen Zero
Our second anime movie of the night had a bit more depth to it. My watch through of Jujutsu Kaisen season one was bombastic, beautiful, and well-executed. It felt like a modern, more competent rewrite of the dynamics found in Naruto, though since I haven't read any of the manga that may be presumptuous of me. This movie didn't feel like Naruto. This movie felt more like Uzumaki (okay I haven't read Uzumaki yet, but I could resist the pun lol). A more straight-forward animated horror film that only leans into its shonen side towards the final act. You don't need to have read or watched any of Jujutsu Kaisen to appreciate this. In fact, I guess you could start with it, since it acts somewhat as a prequel.
The plot follows a boy possessed by the ghost of a woman he witnessed die in a car accident when he was a young kid. She was very close to him while he was alive, and in death she is an obsessive, over protective monster who maims anyone who might come close to her liege. It comes to light that her possession was actually (spoilers) the result of the boy's own psychic abilities, who brought her back from the grave on accident while distressing her death. It's an interesting statement on grief. An emotion can be so powerful as to tear open the fabric of the pale, and holding onto the negativity of that emotion for years only serving to hurt oneself and everyone around them. And then making peace with that grief so you can *checks notes* use your dead loved one to kick ass in a cool anime fight sequence. This movie NEEDS to be in schools./j
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse
Modern media has been a bit over-saturated with Multiverse stories as of late. Its a pretty common story trope in science fiction, done to death in Star Trek, DC comics, the comic this movie was based on, the video-game that comic was inspidered by, among other things. Rick and Morty's entire premise is basically built on the back of that concept, but I think we can trace its recent burst in usage to the success of this movie.
I love Spider-Man. I love Peter Parker. I think his story has such a strong foundation that nearly every adaptation I've seen has been compelling in one way or another. I love most of the Avengers super-heroes, but I can't really say their characters are as relatable, funny, or impactful as our arachnid enhanced boy. There's a reason when Sony was offered the entire Marvel ensemble, they opted to just take the wall-crawler at a discounted price. This movie uses the Multiverse to deconstruct the Spider-Hero narrative and show exactly why this character premise is so compelling.
Miles Morales is not Peter Parker, but he is Petersimilar. A nerdy kid who loves science and wants to be liked and most imporantly: wants to help, no, needs to help others. Because great power + conscience = responsibility. The same is consistent with the rest of the cast. It's a cheesy formula at this point, maybe, which is why its so effective when they play it so straight-forward with all six members of the cast. Different backgrounds, different histories, different universes, but all have seen what their inaction can affect, and all of them have the heart to keep going, to help people even when it gets tough. Miles is a particularly effective introduction to this Super-Hero for younger kids, being relatively less known and thus a fresher narrative than Peter, not to mention more black representation in popular media. It makes me smile when I see kids excitedly bring a stack of Miles Morales easy readers to the check-out desk. He's definitely The Spider of the next generation.
The Nutty Professor
This movie is. Definitely something. Still not sure why we ended our marathon on it. For those unaware, this is an Eddie Murphy comedy about an obese biology professor who concocts A Serum that makes him not only thin for short periods of time, but extremely charismatic. The thin version of himself essentially acts as a second personality who's kind of an asshole, and his coworker ends up caught in a love triangle between Fat Murphy and Thin Murphy.
This, naturally, comes with an endless cavalcade of fatphobic jabs typical of the 90s, but ultimately has a somewhat half-hearted message about toxic masculinity and body positivity. A lot of the jokes that aren't aimed at "haha fat people" do land with relative frequency, because well, Eddie Murphy Is Kind Of A Funny Guy, but for the first time I noticed a structural similarity in his comedy and Adam Sandler's. Remember Chuck and Larry, where the writing is extremely homophobic for the majority of its runtime, and ends with Sandler saying, "Don't be a homophobe"? No? No one has thought of that movie in 10,000 years? Well, this movie feels like that but with fat people, to slightly less offensive degree. But a low effort Murphy movie is still better than a mid-effort Sandler flick, I guess.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse
I already ranted about how much I love Spider-Man earlier, and how the original deconstructs him as a concept, so I won't do that again, but I do want to draw attention to the inherent meta-fiction in Multiverse stories. It is, by its very nature, a story discussing storytelling. By showing different universes you are showing the audience how a story could have gone differently, how characterization can fundamentally alter a narrative. Multiverse stories that understand and recognize this principle tend to lead to a more cohesive and engaging plot. AtSV understand this principle, and follows more closely the original Edge of Spider-verse comic run, reintroducing Spider-Staples like Spider-Punk and Pavitr Prabhakar.
I like that Miguel O'Hara takes center-stage as the antagonist in this film, as he is largely left out of the Spider-verse stuff in the comics, and also I love Spider-Man 2099. One of my friends is obsessed with him. It is his recognition of the patterns in the Spider-Man narrative that drives the conflict in the second act, and it is him who decides those patterns are Fundamental to the Structure of All Things, which not only fits with his character, but provides a much better explanation for the existence of Spider-Society compared to the Spider Gods and Fate Totems from the comics. Miles is once again trapped in a typical Spider-Man conflict, but ironically has his status as Spider-Man called into question. All of existence is collapsing, a science experiment gone wrong turned a scientist into a monster, his dad is in peril, and all of it is getting in the way of asking out the girl of his dreams. Can none of the 100,000 Peter Parker's sympathize? Well yes, they can, but most still hold O'Hara's goal as the larger responsibility.
Speaking of the girl of his dreams, I adore Spider-Gwen. She is the comic book character I will follow to the ends of the earth, even though most of her comics lately suck ass. This film does a beautiful job bringing Robbie Rodriguez's artstyle to life in our brief time in Earth 65. The colors... THE COLORS!!! This animation team once again changed the landscape of animated films, but sadly this came at the cost of some pretty gross labor violations. This is extra damning as AtSV is apparently the fourth longest animated movie ever and doesn't even have a conclusion. All that abuse for an incomplete story? They clearly could have taken their time with this, and not every scene needed to make it to the final cut. This is why we have deleted scenes! So a studio doesn't lock a bunch of animators in a box and force them to work an unreasonable amount in record time. I hope the next movie has more union reps and give everyone as much time and space as they need to make something good. I want movies with people paid more to do less, dammit!
Okay, my soap box has been discarded. I've placed it neatly in the drawer with my toothpaste and hairbrush. I have one more list of movies to get through, but rn I'm moving onto the latter half of my reading list, since with my track record I probably won't finish anything else before the end of the year.

TOKYO MANJI CAPTAINS WITH AN S/O THAT LOOKS LIKE HARUKA HASHIDA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warning: none.
genre: fluff.
characters: sano "mikey" manjiro, baji keisuke, and mitsuya takashi.
note: possible ooc. grammatical errors. I like Haruka's character design, especially his hair. (it looks so pretty) So, I, kind of, focused on that part.
xfem!reader
requested here
Tumblr media
Sano "Mikey" Manjiro
When he first saw you, he never thought of anything. He's pretty casual with you and talks like the usual Mikey we see in the anime/manga. Mikey doesn't give a fuck about one's appearance, preferring to know the person before handing his opinion.
So, you captured his heart through your passion, dreams, personality, and kindness. Your looks come second to this man. He still admires your beauty, nonetheless.
Mikey was and still is, whipped by your hair. (let's be honest here, who wouldn't?) He admires the curls and the length, telling you how amazed he is that you take care of them very well. He will ask you for advice on what kind of shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask to use to keep it as healthy as yours. You will give him the best products you had.
He will insist on having a night/day where you take care of each other's hair. Wash them, style them, brush them, etc. There were times where Draken and Emma will join you guys, and you're happy to spend time with them. You guys will probably take turns tying/styling each other's hair, teaching the boys (especially Mikey) how to braid. Draken even requests the fishtails.
If you like art, just like Haruka, he is by your side every time you paint. Watching your skillful hands move the brush as you create scenery, people, or anything possible to human perception. He's amazed by your passion for painting and how you can create beautiful images with swirls of paint on the canvas.
Technically, your biggest fan in any of your endeavors.
He once asked you, "Can you paint me?" with the same expression as the handsome Squidward. He said he wants that hanging in his room so that he can stare at his beauty made by your beautiful hands. You obliged, giving it to him as a present for his birthday. God, it was the happiest day of his life.
When there are times that you are overworking yourself, he will not hesitate to drag your ass out of your studio/room. Sleep and eating are the things most artists, including you, forget when indulging in their works. Not on Mikey's watch, though. He is concerned for your well-being. Expect lots of cuddles and dorayaki from this man.
Will absent-mindedly play with your hair because he really loves you and your hair that much. He finds solace in them, he says. You guys spent every cuddle time with you snuggled close to him, asleep, while he peacefully plays with your hair until sleep knocks him out too.
Last thing: WHOEVER COMPARES YOUR HAIR TO BAJI WILL MEET THEIR END SIX FEET UNDER THE GROUND. Keep Edward as far as 20 feet away from (y/n).
"So, what hairstyle do you want today, sir?" you ask, smiling from ear-to-ear after Mikey sat in front of you.
It was a Thursday night, and nothing in particular happened. You're taking a break after Mikey insists for the hundredth time, dragging you to his place to cuddle. Now, both of you are bored to your wit's end, trying to entertain each other with random ideas until Mikey decided that you can play a hair salon, taking turns at being a customer and hairstylist.
"Braid, please~" his singsong voice brought delight to your nerves. Humming in response, you gently braid his hair.
The comforting silence envelopes Mikey's room, and without words, you both knew how you brought comfort in each other.
"Here you are, good sir," tapping his shoulders, "Please proceed to the check-out."
"How much is it?"
You innocently blink at him, smile growing big, "2 kiss currency, good sir."
"Well, can I give an extra for being my pretty girlfriend?" he asked, cupping your cheeks.
"Very well appreciated."
Baji Keisuke
Dear oh dear, he has the most reaction out of the bunch. He's immediately on the ground, admiring your beautiful hair. He will endlessly talk about hair products and hair tips.
But, this man loves you because you are you, okay? Like Mikey, this man doesn't think much about someone's appearance. Talk about your dreams, and you already got his heart.
He will go to your place, asking for a particular product when he runs out of them and vice versa. Yes, that's your relationship in a nutshell. Baji has a habit of going to your place after fighting with whoever he decided to beat up because—he hasn't told you this yet he likes it when you wash his hair.
He will occasionally insist on washing your hair too. Trying to impress you with his hairwashing skills. He's really competitive at times, so expect a lot of "How's that? Aren't I good?"
Literally, a golden retriever boyfriend.
He will ask you to tie his hair and teach him other styles. He told you once he wants to amaze the other members when he appears with a braid or some fancy hairstyle. Baji will do his best to learn everything you teach him, practicing in your hair.
Once again, if you like painting, then expect this man to ogle every work you have in store. He has a different reaction to every piece you show him and will ask you if you're some magician or scientist. Like Mikey, he will ask if you can paint him. But, it was a picture of the two of you, and he wants them hanging in his room.
He may not drag your ass out when you overwork, but he will be there to accompany you. Whenever you need something, he immediately has it in hand to give you. He's there to tend to your needs. He will occasionally ask you to stop and sit with him for a minute, which leads to cuddling on the floor of your studio.
He's proud of you and your achievements. So, he will do his best to be your number supporter.
"It's been an hour and a half, (y/n). Come here and sit with me," Baji taps the space beside him. You turn to the man from kissing your canvas, begging him to give you another five minutes to do your work.
He stood up and took you out of your seat, "Your wrists are still recovering, dumbass. Take it easy, will you?
"Keisuke, let me finish the nose-"
"You've been fixing it for the past fifteen minutes, (y/n)," putting you down where he sat earlier, "Now, eat this bread with me."
You take the melon pan he hands you and observes the other goods he got before coming to your place. He took out energy drinks and another couple of junk food before opening his favorite chips. He noticed how you weren't eating the food he offered, opening them for you when he thought your hands hurt.
"Now, eat up, and we'll take a nap," He brushes the stray hair stuck on your forehead.
"Let's take care of each other, okay?"
Mitsuya Takashi
You're immediately this man's model. (his sisters are still his number one, of course) He will ask if you have any ideas about fashion and sewing. And, if you are, then expect this man to ramble about what he makes and everything he finds fascinating. You will probably spend time until dawn talking about it.
He will notice your hair and ask you what kind of sorcery you do to keep it healthy. He will probably look up ways to take care of them, then ask you if it's okay for your hair. (He deems you as an expert in this field) Probably go and try it out to his sisters too.
And to that, Mana and Luna find your hair beautiful. As mannered kids they are, they will ask if they can play with your hair, style it to their liking, and you will agree while beaming at them. Mitsuya once saw you playing salon with them, and he swears his heart almost burst.
You're the one learning different hairstyles from this man, not the other way around. His sisters will critique your work, and boy, they are hard to please about hairstyles.
He will make clothes for you and his sisters. He had all of your measurements memorized, so he'll surprise you with newly sewn clothes at your front door. He, sometimes, asks you to come to his place and help him think of a new design or give your thoughts about his work in progress. It's a wholesome exchange between the two of you.
YOU. WILL. DRESS. UP. EACH. OTHER. No, definitely not the butt-naked in front of the other while they put on your clothes. You guys will plan out each other's clothes, asking if it's a miss or match. It also happens to his sisters every time you guys go out on dates. Yes, you want Mitsuya to bring his sisters.
Like the other two, this man will love your paintings. He will even ask if you can teach him some basics because he wants to paint you and his sisters. You will teach him, of course. It's one of your favorite moments with him.
After your painting session, he will shower you with praises and help you relax. He will bring you snacks, ask you how's your painting, and occasionally barge in your place to remind you to take a rest. He learned after painting with you that what you do is complex and tiring. So, he'll do his best to look out for you.
When you decided to take a break, you end up cuddling him and sleeping your worries away while he whispers praises and sweet nothings in your ears.
"Did you finish already?" Mitsuya asks, opening his arms for you.
You hum as you melt in his hold, laying down on his futon. It was past 5:00 PM, and you barge in their place after spending the day painting tirelessly in yours. His sisters were out with his mom, leaving you two alone to cuddle and enjoy each other's comfort.
"You don't have to come here," pulling you close to his body, "Text me, and we can spend time in your place."
You gaze at the man, smiling, "But, I like it here more than being stuck with my stuffy place."
Mitsuya fight the urge to hold you tighter, flustered at your cute face, dreamy and hazy. He chuckles at your attempt of easing his worries by burying your face in the crook of his neck. He runs his finger to your hair, taking out some of the tangles gently. His ministration lulls you closer and closer to sleep. Soon enough, Mitsuya noticed your even breaths and soft snores.
"You did very well today, my love. Sleep tight."

Random date night with Illumi, Hisoka, and Chrollo
Tumblr media
Hello, anon! Ask and you shall receive! This prompt is very interesting and I will try to keep it in character as much as possible. To sum this up, Hisoka would take you to an ice cream shop, a carnival, or apple orchard while Illumi would rather go to an art or historical museum. Chrollo would persuade you to attend a book reading/author signing or go hiking. Depending on who you are and what your ideal date is, I’m sure you’d find them all fun. Going to a carnival or apple orchard is my go-to since I’ve barely been because they’re all in the suburbs. These headcanons are explained much more than the others. That is why Chrollo and Illumi seem to be short, but they’re not. Also, I can’t wait for Halloween because these headcanons are going to be amazing. I am extremely sorry if there are grammar errors! Taking classes on Zoom is frustrating and now my brain has to relearn everything that I lost in 3 months! Before we get started, I have a few announcements.
This post is more laid back than my other headcanons because I tried to keep it as canon as possible.
I want to thank you all for 65 followers! It means a lot! I’m happy to see that a lot of you enjoy my writing and like it enough to follow me! I have a challenge for you! When I reach 100 followers, I will host some type of writing event here...but I need ideas. I’ve seen some pages do specials where you can send an ask and pretend like you're talking to a character and I respond with what they’d say. SEND ME IDEAS! I WILL CREDIT YOU!
I will be stepping back a little more than before. I’ll still be logged in and re-blogging but as far as writing posts like this...it may only be once or twice a week. You see, I’m in college and I’m struggling financially and I have to work on scholarships. If you all send me an ask, be patient.
Voltron posts will only be created based on asks. I will not be writing posts about VLD if no one requests them. I do not receive any feedback from it anymore and no one seems to like them.
Now, let’s get into the post.
Let's start with Illumi first.
Tumblr media
Headcanon 1: Illumi has a secret admiration for different types of art but he specifically enjoys pop art and surrealism. He has commented on how surrealism makes his brain twist and his feelings swirl as he tries to figure out the piece and what inspires it.
He prefers not to participate in tours as he likes to digest the art at his own pace.
Headcanon 2: In his spare time, he paints on a canvas. His art style consists of both surrealism and abstract art. For a person with a dark personality, his compositions always contain bright colors and abstract techniques that leave you wondering about his TRUE personality. He is truly a good man with a bright personality but after being abused for so long, those behaviors/personalities have been shoved so far down his throat that they may not come back up.
He has a bad habit of asking you what you thought about every single piece of art you passed. The conversations were great but this is a date after all. The playful conversation slowly turns into a lecture about art. Although you loved your bf’s dictionary-like brain it also drained your energy.
One of his favorite artists is Vincent Van Gough. Although he favors surrealism, Van Gogh’s art style was mind-blowing to him. So amazed that he buys several Van Gogh t-shirts from the gift shop.
His favorite piece created by Van Gough is “Starry Night”.
He notices that you are becoming bored and decides that it is time for MORE excitement, one that you are certain to enjoy.
“Where are we going,” you ask, pretending to be interested.
“Down to the basement. We are going to have a bite to eat.”
Since Illumi rarely smiled, when he did smile it drove you wild. The anticipation of what his next move was going to be is what drove that wildness. Being a bounty hunter was thrilling already but dating a smart, badass assassin was totally out of your league but it worked out.
Headcanon 3: Illumi’s idea of being romantic is dramatically different from yours. He believes just spending time with you on the couch was enough. He is correct; but if you have the time and funds, your time together should be a little spontaneous. You insisted on dates outside of the house because his family will not stay out of your business.
“Illumi, I am too hungry for more trivia.”
He chuckles. “Don’t worry. So am I. That is why I’ve decided to take you to a wine and cheese party.”
Huh? Wine and Cheese at 3PM? That’s ok. When was there a time limit on when you can drink alcohol?
Illumi has indirectly attended parties as such when he was 15 years old. He never drank, but he watched as his mother’s friends (surprisingly) talked about business and their children. This time, you weren’t going to talk about business for once. Instead, you two were going to actually talk about what couples discuss.
Headcanon 4: When introduced to alcohol for the first time, Illumi immediately stated how he hated brown liquor. That includes Hennessy, Jack Daniels, etc. It makes him sick to his stomach. He prefers to drink Smirnoff mixed with fruity drinks like strawberry or pineapple.
He loves it when you make these drinks for him on a summer day.
Hence the title wine and cheese, you both go to a stand-up table, place your brochures down, and actually have a wonderful conversation not involving work or hunting.
Illumi smiled a few times, more than usual. Whenever he appears to be softer even around you, that is because he has mellowed out and doesn't have the overbearing weight of his family on his shoulders. You set him free.
Tumblr media
Hisoka
According to a one-shot that another manga artist created, they expressed that Hisoka was found on the side of the road, was taken in by someone that worked at a local circus, and learned Nen in a matter of days. Hisoka’s clown look and having the skills of a magician proves that this has to be canon in some way.
Headcanon 1: Given this potential backstory, going to a carnival is his go-to every summer. He wants to take you to a circus but saves that for you as an engagement gift.
Everyone with a heart knows that whether or not you’re in a relationship or not the carnival is fun as hell! Expensive fried food, elephant ears, funnel cake, ICEE’s, rides, and stuffed animals are to die for!
Being at a carnival relaxes him so his bloodlust isn’t activated unless someone bumps into him and causes a scene.
Headcanon 2: PDA is something that Hisoka does well; he doesn’t overdo it but does it enough where people get the impression that you are a couple and aren’t “best friends”.
While completing a mission depending on how rough it may be, he insists that you tag along to see how he handles the situation. You’ve already seen his ruthlessness from Hunter’s exam but he insists.
His sense of pride gets the best of him sometimes. Sometimes his head is so big that it reminds you of a large birthday balloon.
Headcanon 3: ANYWAY, given his nature, he is very adventurous, dangerous, and courageous. If he wants to go on the Demon Drop, he’ll do it and you DO not have a choice in the matter. He’ll tease or guilt trip you into doing something that you would not like to do.
“Well, you wouldn’t want me to cling on to someone else, would you?”
“No. Of course not,” you reply.
“Let’s go then, scaredy-cat.”
As a hunter, you’ve seen worse. Why are you so afraid to go on a ride?
Headcanon 4: At apple orchards, cornfield mazes are one of his favorites. You cannot for the life of you figure out how to get out but he can. He grabs a scarecrow and scares you from behind. That annoys you but is nothing compared to later on that night.
Oh. My. God. It’s haunted house time!
“Hisoka, I’m not going in!”
“Why not? I’ll protect you.”
“Because they’re monsters and I already have to deal with one.”
It took him a second to catch on that you were talking about him.
“That’s going to bite you in the butt, kitten.”
Headcanon 5: Like Killua, Hisoka has a sweet tooth. Don’t allow his buff appearance to fool you!
He LOVES caramel apples, elephant ears, funnel cake, freshly squeezed lemonade, fudge, and cotton candy. How can this man manage to stay in shape? The world may never know.
Headcanon 6: He isn’t one to play by other people’s rules but he sets his own rules with your relationship that you both must obey. One of those rules says that neither of you can be on your phones while together.
Headcanon 7: Hisoka insists that you both wear either matching pants or matching shirts to avoid unnecessary flirtation.
He isn’t jealous but on “us time”, he doesn’t want to lose a single second.
Headcanon 8: Hisoka only jumps in when necessary. Given that you’ve passed the hunter’s exam and work as a bodyguard, he knows you can handle your business. If the person can’t take a hint, then he steps in. They almost back up immediately considering Hisoka is towering over them.
When the moon shines, you both go to the car and off to sleep in your comfy king-sized bed.
Tumblr media
Chrollo
We all know that Chrollo loves to read! What does he specifically like to read? What Genre? Does he like to read alone or with other people?
Although Chrollo is a thief and must be hidden in the shadows, the authorities have called off the search for him for at least 3 years. Slowly but surely, he begins to find himself in the outside world again.
Chrollo once discussed a book with the Phantom Troupe when they were being transported to another place for a mission. He read “Tears of a Tiger” by Sharon M. Draper.
The reading sessions are opened with an affirmation and a reason to be thankful to be alive. He says he is thankful for the troupe, glances at you, and smiles. No one catches on to that sly face except for Phinks.
Headcanon 1: Chrollo is very silent and shy to an extent. He only associates with people he knows and trusts. You are the social butterfly at this moment.
Chrollo tags along behind you like a shy child, holding your hand while you stick out your free hand to greet everyone.
Today, the book club was going to read “Divergent”.
Headcanon 2: Although he loves to read, he hates it when others read out loud. Most people are drably read and it annoys him. After a while, he takes over. Chrollo was tense the first 30 minutes of the meeting because two cops were there but neither of them noticed it was him.
Headcanon 3: Chrollo often acts the part of the character that he is reading in the book. His tone, attitude, and emphasis on certain words keep the group engaged. He is complimented on his acting!
“Good Job, honey,” you whisper.
He responds by tightly squeezing your hand.
His tone was so impressive that the host insisted that he read for the entire night. He was ok with that because in between reads he was often distracted by a lovely pair of jeans and shoes you had on. You were into writing, so hearing others read and act out the characters helped.
Headcanon 4: In some settings, Chrollo is very braggadocious. He insisted that the group read one of your stories so you could be provided with feedback.
“We’d be delighted to view your story, y/n!”
“It will be fun!”
The book club wasn’t a stereotypical club that only consisted of soccer moms but instead consisted of men and women who were involved with a business, law enforcement, health, etc. This was an open space for everyone to relax and forget about their demanding jobs.
After the meeting, the group went to dinner at a nearby pizzeria. You all enjoyed large pizzas, beer, salads, and dessert. How could your stomach (or anyone’s stomach) hold that much?
Chrollo laughed so much that it made you question if he was your actual boyfriend or not. He even engaged in conversations with the two off-duty cops! For once, you helped Chrollo experience the greater things in life; true love, friendship, and happiness.
“Thank you,” he whispered and slyly placed a kiss on your hand. “For everything.”

Ygo back at you!!
oh thank god I wanted to do this for ygo
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
[slam dunks] you already KNOOOOO yugi and jou are tied for my faves. if I had to absolutely HAD to choose I think I might choose yugi, but I can go on about both of them for DAYS
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
yugi!! he is So Shaped. I feel like his character design gets misunderstood a lot as well (and the ygo spin offs didn't help). yugi really set the trend for anime protagonists that look really unique compared to the rest of the cast to the point it became a meme, but I feel like people forget that yugi doesn't look and dress the way he does because he's The Protagonist. he looks like that because he's a nerdy goth kid in the 90s with normie friends adskjbsg. qualities near and dear to me. all this is to say I just think he's neat
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
honda. no printer, just fax. he's just a sweet guy and an amazing friend and he never really gets his time to shine. plus he's the only character with a dog!!!! the first time I read the manga I was shook idk why. I don't see many dogs in manga so thank u honda
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
I really can't think of any background characters that I was like "damn u could make a religion out of this". I really like YOUR characterization of Hirutani, but I feel like that's cheating.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
problematic fave.....Mr. Marik Ishtar. yes he did bad things, but he did them with STYLE.....SAVOIR FAIRE if you will
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
I torment my faves for obvious reasons, but I also enjoy sending Kaiba down the plinko just because for every insane thing that happens to him, he responds with something even more outrageously insane. having an absolutely normal one
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
as you said. everyone's dad. there are no winners here.

On your Kururu secretly craving praise headcanon
I know this may seem sudden, but I have just finished reading the Keroro manga all the way up to the 27th volume and GOD, Chapter 182 completely validates your Kururu headcanon on how he secretely craves approval. FYI, manga!Kururu is hyper competent compared to anime!Kururu, as in you can count the number of failed inventions throughout the 27 volumes on one hand and that he's pulled the strings behind multiple events to save Pekopon and his platoon (Like there was a time where Mois was losing control over herself for subduing her instinct of destroying Pekopon, and after everyone tries everything to calm her down, they had no choice but to use an angol stone to put her in stasis until a solution is found. Nobody has one and everyone begins to feel the lack of Mois in their lives, INCLUDING Kururu because unlike in the anime, Kururu doesn't particularly dislike Mois and she rarely helps out with the tech. Kururu realizing there's no proper solution, takes it upon himself to call in an old favor and next thing they know, a massive meteorite is flying towards Pekopon, which Mois promptly relieves herself with. Nobody knows Kururu was responsible for it.) Additionally, he's rarely seen with curry and has an amazing catchphrase of "Trouble and accidents are my best friends."
Now to Ch. 182. It starts with a mysterious being with a Keronian silhoutte contacting Kururu and requesting him to make curry. After goading and taunting Kururu, Kururu gets pissed off and boldly proclaims that "What kind of a buffoon is he, to think that ore-sama is incapable of doing something? I can prepare a complete banquet, let alone a plate of curry. I will personally make you worship me after this!" and starts a massive curry making machine with millions of high-quality spices at his disposal, calculating the perfect curry that "can make all Pekoponian chefs lose their jobs".
The first batch of curry is done and Kururu takes it to the Hinatas for taste-testing. Natsumi and Fuyuki are wary and rejects tasting it despite thinking it smells out of this world, prompting Kururu to get really irritated and comment to himself "These damned kids don't even want to touch it?". Aki then comes in and tries it, states "Mm, it tastes pretty good. Kuru-chan, you're quite good at cooking!" And this PISSES Kururu even further, internally screaming, "Wh- How can this be?!"
He then takes the curry to Giroro ("What do I know of flavor! As a soldier, all I care is that I get something to eat!"), Keroro (making Gunpla, "Oh, okay, it's good. Tastes pretty good, just a bit spicy I guess."), and Dororo (rejects it thinking that it's a sick prank). Kururu then THROWS his curry into the garbage, screaming, "It's a failure!!" As he's on the way back to his lab, he's thinking "They're all bastards. They couldn't even taste how amazing something Ore-sama made? All they said was "pretty good", what's the point!!" with the background being an imagined scenario where everyone is crying tears of joy upon eating his curry and heaping him with praises.
He gets straight back to work after another set of jeers from the mysterious being, taking Pekoponian culture into consideration this time, still wanting everyone to kneel before his curry. Aki wants another serving, and this time Fuyuki tries the curry as well; both of them loved it and Aki even claims that it was better than before. But to Kururu, it was still a failure because "They weren't praising my technique, only the parts that they understood...!" (because it was a Japanese style sweet apple kind of curry). This time, Kururu's not as peeved off and after telling the mysterious being "...Go to hell. You annoying bastard... Listen up! Until I come back, you are not allowed to stop the transmission!!" and speeds off to Kyoto to meet up with a retired high-ranked Keronian called Namumu he met in a previous arc. After acting all tsun-tsun and listening to Namumu's advice, Kururu heads back and makes his last version of curry, admitting that he underestimated the art of curry-making and deciding that regardless of their reactions, he's not making another plate of curry after this (implying this is the best curry he can make).
Upon presenting the last batch of curry, it's Natsumi who tries it first after smelling a familiar scent. Turns out, the curry Kururu made this time tasted exactly like the curry the Hinata household makes. "Kukuku... "In the end, the best curry is still your own curry."... so that's it? Really, what a dull answer, ku~kukukuku." Then Aki replies with this:
"...There's still a difference. The taste is definitely the same, but this is without a doubt curry that Kuru-chan made. I've tasted your curry three times... And now I truly understand Kuru-chan's cooking. Kuru-chan has toiled away to understand the taste of our household's curry, so the curry that you made only became more delicious. Thank you for treating us. You can make more whenever you have the time, Kuru-chan!"
And his reaction? He LITERALLY FREEZES. And not only that, for the first time, he doesn't have the lines between his eyes, his mouth is open with no teeth showing, and his hand is lowered slightly away from his mouth. This guy was genuinely SHOCKED to receive such a heartfelt praise. Unironically "genuine praise"-starved.
He returns to his lab only to find the mysterious being's transmission over and he acts all tsun-tsun again about how "That bastard was nothing more than a bother." but this time, he's smiling to himself.
Another thing about it is that Kururu's first batch of curry? After he threw them in the trash, Tamama fishes the curry out and thinks he can use it to prank Momoka because his thought process was literally "Oh? Something Kururu-senpai made and he's not happy with the results? Must be something terrible!" To Tamama's surprise, the world-class chef working for Momoka RETIRED after tasting Kururu's curry, saying that he has a lot left to learn, meaning the first curry he made was already mind-blowingly amazing.
I love anime!Kururu, but manga!Kururu has an INSANE amount of depth and I'm losing my mind and sleep over this version.
Omg. ANON I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! I freaking love that infodump of Kururu's character in the manga! Even though I haven't read the manga I'm actually considering to do so now!! And good to know that a manga chapter validates my headcanon >:](

Anime I Watched in Quarantine
With some of the restrictions being lifted, I wanted to make a sort of master post to see just how much I’ve watched in my time off. Plus, I wanted to share something more lighthearted with everyone.
All of these anime will be rated on a 1-10 scale, 10 meaning masterpiece, 1 meaning complete garbage. I’ll also share what I liked/didn’t like about each show. This list will go in chronological order, and will encompass all anime from 3/13 - 6/13. Multiple Seasons will be grouped together.
1. Beastars - 8/10
Tumblr media
I dig how human and down-to-earth Beastars is. The pacing was a nice and the animation was unexpectedly great! It’s driving force is its characters and their interactions. Felt a little slow at times, and Juno annoys me, but that’s okay. I’ll be watching season 2.
2. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun - 8/10
Tumblr media
Oh my god! This visuals for this were absolutely wonderful! It did feel a little cliche at times, I won’t lie. But, I still loved all of these characters and the nice balance between creepy and comedy.
3. Ao No Exorcist - 6/10
Tumblr media
I posted about this one after I finished it. The ending really pissed me off. I feel like if I had watched this when I was 13, I would’ve given it a higher score. Compared to some of the other shounen I’ve watched, this felt a bit basic. That doesn’t mean I still didn’t like it. Still have to get around to watching season 2...
4.  Kaichou wa Maid-sama! 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Shoujo usually isn’t my cup of tea. Maid-sama was a nice way to ease into the cliches of shoujo. Misaki is a great protagonist and the ending Maid-sama was so satisfying. I’m only giving it a low score because of its slow pacing and lack of certain character development.
5.  Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou  - 7/10
Tumblr media
I’m a big Violet Evergarden fan to begin with, so of course I liked this movie. It did not resonate with me as much as the series itself, but I still enjoyed it. Kyoto animation is never disappointing in their visuals and sound design
6.  Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! - 8/10
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Chuunibyou was a breath of fresh air for me. It was so different from all other romance anime I had seen at the time. It for sure has a slice of life vibe to it, but it was still so good! It reminded me of being in middle school and my “chuunibyou” phase. The second season was not as enjoyable as the first. I guess I just had higher expectations for Rikka and Yuuta.
7. Dr. Stone - 7/10
Tumblr media
Dr. Stone is honestly such a perfect shounen for me. I’m a science nerd, and with taking AP Chem this year it was kind of nice to sorta apply my knowledge. This show also has some of the best reaction images ever. The tone, however, is a little inconsistent which made it hard to keep watching. I do love the relationship between Senku and his Dad, that whole sub-plot was so endearing.
8. Oshiete! Galko-chan - 6/10
Tumblr media
This one only gets a low score because its so short and the op takes up like half an episode. This show had been in the back of my mind for a while. I decided to watch it after seeing a video essay discussing it. Its masterful subversion of tropes and stereotypes was refreshing. The message of this show is so positive, and everyone can benefit from watching something like this.
9. Mairimashita Iruma-kun  - 5/10
Tumblr media
The second half of Mairimashita Iruma-kun was so much better. I’m not completely sure why I didn’t like this as much as I should have. Overall, its a really average show. The comedy (and musical numbers???) give this show and charismatic and chaotic vibe. I’m someone who focuses primarily on character-character interactions, and this show definitely had it. It isn’t monogatari levels of dialogue but it’s still nice. For the studio’s low budget, they were able to make a really bright and colorful show. I’ll be watching season 2.
10. Byousoku 5 Centimeter - 8/10
Tumblr media
Very. VERY. Pretty!! This one was another one that didn’t completely resonate with me emotionally. I still loved the story and the way it was told. Its not like Your Name or Tenki no Ko, it’s realistic and grounded.
11. Mob Psycho 100 - 8/10
Mob Psycho 100 II - 9/10
Tumblr media
Style alone made Mob Psycho 100 so impressive. By the second half of each season I was emotional invested in Mob and his whole journey. Season 2 is receiving a higher score because it was able to make me cry. That’s something I NEVER expected. I’m mad I didn’t watch this sooner. It is a great balance of action, comedy, and heart.
12. Noragami Aragoto - 8/10
Tumblr media
Not sure why I put off Norogami’s second season for so long. I absolutely loved it. The focus on Bishimon was a nice change of pace and it was great to see Yukine develop more as a character and begin to loose his arrogance. Kazuma was my favorite character in all of this. His ability to affect the people around him was presented nicely. I was emotionally invested the whole way through, and I’ll probably pick up the manga.
13. Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji - 3/10
Tumblr media
Ah yes. My least favorite thing on planet earth. This is a wonderful example of Shoujo at its worst. Their relationship was incredibly toxic, and the characters themselves were poorly developed and generic. The whole time all I could think was that I was watching normalized Stockholm Syndrome. Our MC deserves so much better.
14. Youjo Senki - 6/10
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting to like Youjo Senki as much as I did. I’m not usually one for iesekai. The action was great, but the use of CGI bogged down scenes. I do NOT really like the protagonist that much because she came across as apathetic. Towards the end, I started to like her more. This was also my first military/warfare-focused anime. If either a movie or second season is made, I will probably not watch it.
15. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
I wanted to like Madoka Magica more than I did. I really did. The style was compelling and the story was interesting. Especially in the beginning, a lot of the death and sad stuff didn’t feel all that sad. The last 4 episodes are a solid 8/10, I love time shenanigans. The emotions and character development really shined through in the end. Madoka is such an inherently kind-hearted person, I love her so much!
16. Yakusoku no Neverland - 8.5/10
Tumblr media
I was expecting Yakusoku no Neverland to be more graphic, but I’m kind of glad it didn’t go that route. Like Madoka, the last four episodes had me really invested. However, the character development was not as rushed. It’s a smart show and welcomed change of pace. Emma is my favorite character and you bet I’ll be watching season 2. The more I think about this show, the more I appreciate it.
17. Mo Dao Zu Shi - 9/10
Mo Dao Zu Shi 2nd Season - 8/10
Tumblr media
I know that is is technically a donghua, but I’m counting it as an anime because its on MAL. Amazing visuals and an incredibly layered story.  Censorship makes it difficult to fully appreciate this work and its original novel. Even though I was confused for the first 2 episodes, Mo Dao Zu Shi did a great job of developing the time period and character relationships. The second season wasn’t as satisfying as the first but still great! I don’t think I’ll be watching the live action anytime soon, but I believe that a 3rd season is confirmed for 2020.
18. Banana Fish - 8.5/10
Tumblr media
I knew nothing about Banana Fish going into it. Although I didn’t cry at the ending, it definitely made me feel some type of way. Kind of... numb. Banana Fish is painfully realistic. So much so that I had to take a break after episode 15 because I felt sick to my stomach. I also praise Banana Fish for it’s healthy, non-fetishized relationship representation. Eiji and Ash have such a complex but healthy relationship. I hope Banana Fish is able to pave the way for better representation in media.
19. Promare - 5/10
Tumblr media
Why do people praise Promare so much? I hated how predictable it was. The whole movie felt like a 2 hour animation flex for Trigger. The only character in this movie that didn’t manage to piss me off it some way was Lio. The only other thing I’ve seen by studio Trigger is Kill la Kill, so compared to that, this felt like such a step down. :( I was disappointed.
20. Given - 6/10
Tumblr media
Given made me both sad and made me want to start a band. Overall the animation is nothing special, I do like the reactions that some of the characters had. Especially that “It’s Mutual” gif set. I couldn’t get over how much Ritsuka looks like Kageyama. My only complaint was how rushed Mafuyu and Ritsuka’s relationship felt. More time should have been dedicated to Mafuyu dealing with and moving past the loss in his life. All that said, I’m still watching the movie.
21. Enen no Shouboutai - 5/10
Tumblr media
Generic Shounen, bad ending, great animation. Need I say more? I did not watch Soul Eater (made by same creator), but this was enjoyable. Really cool fights, not so cool character development. A lot of the explanations towards the end felt like complete bull shit. Same energy as using fancy sounding science words to explain things.
22. Hataraku Maou-Sama - 5.5/10
Tumblr media
This is another show I felt I would’ve liked more if I watched it when I was younger. The iesekai trope is so beaten down that classics like this don’t really carry as much weight as they originally did. A 24 episode season with more Slice of Life episodes would’ve benefited this series greatly.
23. BNA - 7/10
Tumblr media
BNA, in my opinion, was so much better than Promare. Like Hataraku Maou-sama, BNA would’ve benefited from a longer season with more Slice of Life Episodes. Trigger’s newer animation is beautiful and I really hope BNA gets renewed for a second season. The ending was cliche as hell, but still really enjoyed this show!
24. Devilman: Crybaby - 7/10
Tumblr media
A.K.A. The one show I’ve got to watch when I know I’m alone. The use of multiple languages besides Japanese in the sub was a unique take. The animation was also a little jarring at first, but I came to love it. The themes in this are not the most positive. The end left me feeling numb, but also appreciative. Ryo pissed me off as soon as he tried to kill that cat, so it was hard to sympathize with him in the very end. It is a really good show, but also sickening, Watch at your own discretion.

Hi! I'm thinking about watch FullMetal Alchemist, and I was wondering what the difference was between FMA and FMAB. Is FMAB a sequel?
Oh God I've no clue when you asked this, I'm so sorry if it's been ages, I haven't been sure how to check questions.
Excellent question though!
Tumblr media
Fma is the 2003 Era anime, created when the Manga was not yet completed. It differs from FMAB in that it focuses more on introductory characters and plot points, and is 60% filler.
While it is filler in a sense, the plot they made up for FMA is incredibly compelling and interesting, focusing more on the realistic flaws in characters and politics, aka building up the country of Amestris incredibly throughly. The concept of homunculi is also very different, as well as the main villian.
That being said, it does contain, in the first quarter, Manga material that develop the main brother's bond, which is very fun to watch if you enjoy character interaction. It's this aspect, as well as the serious tone it takes, that makes FMA my favorite anime of all time.
The sequel movie to this version is Conqueror of Shamballa!
Tumblr media
Not to compare diamonds to diamonds though, FMAB is also incredible. It's not actually a sequel, but a more accurate remake! While it definately rushes over the beginning (watching fma first should help fill the gaps), it separates from FMA with entire Manga related plots and new wonderful characters.
It builds a whole world with many countries and new friends, as well as new homunculi concepts and villians. This one is so much fun to watch, and does a good job at sharing a compelling, accurate, and exciting world!
This show has the movie sacred star of milos taking place near the start, for reference!
Tumblr media
To summarize, both renditions are amazing for their own reasons, both are tied as my favorite show, since it's easier to just say fullmetal when people ask, lol. Fma is serious and diverges from the Manga, and my favorite of the two by a small margin. Brotherhood is more funny and canonically accurate, and introduces some beloved characters. They're different shows after around episode 20 or so, but both have their perks.
My suggestion for starting out? Watch 2003 first for the elric backstory and epic art style, then brotherhood for the real journey and end! 2003 fma made me fall in love with the characters enough to fall in love with brotherhood too.
I hope this even remotely helps! Any fullmetal is a good bet, trust me you'll like at least one of them!

Listing my favorite animes (because I’m jumping on the bandwagon)
❗️⚠️ *spoilers!! (Duh)* ❗️⚠️
5. Deadman Wonderland
Tumblr media
I was really really sad when I found out this anime got cancelled. The music was fantastic, the animation was really good, and the voice acting was incredible. Even the fucking dubbed version (I loved the voice they chose for Senji. God he was hilarious). I binged this show so fucking fast it wasn’t even funny. I loved watching the characters go through their own struggles and grow as people in the very small amount of episodes provided. There was a lot of development within the snippet that we actually saw, and I was thoroughly impressed with how well it was done. I wanted to scream or something when I found out there wouldn’t be a second season.
Sigh. Oh well. At least we got some of the manga’s masterpiece translated into a show, even if we were missing some fucking awesome characters.
4. Guilty Crown
Tumblr media
Ugh, don’t even get me started. This anime was beautiful and I got so invested so freaking quickly. I literally go back every few years to rewatch it because I get ship starved.
Shu and Inori’s story was so beautifully done; between Shu uncovering his courage and Inori’s journey of self-discovery, I was continuously awe-struck and filled with feelings—I mean, I had never felt such raw emotion while watching something and I was completely blown away by the affect it had on me. Anger, hatred, sadness, it was all there (even for the main character lmao) and it was one of the first times I had ever felt a ship so heavily that I literally cried at the end. It was one of the very first Animes I’d ever seen and was one of the reasons I got such a taste for them. Thanks for throwing me down that rabbit hole, GC.
3. Soul Eater
Tumblr media
This was literally the first Anime I’d ever seen, and my god I couldn’t have asked for a better starter. What I like about this one is that it’s style is so unique and different. It’s very punk and grunge, something I admired and appreciated in a genre that is normally the opposite (like Guilty Crown, for example). Also the fight scenes were badass, like holy shit just look at that gif ??? Freaking amazing.
I loved the way the show transitioned from light hearted to intense and adrenaline pumping so effortlessly. That can be said about a lot of shows, but this one went from *haha cute show* to *holy shit, like they’re actually gonna die ohmygod howaretheygoingtosurvivethis* so smoothly I was genuinely surprised. They made one of the main villains actually cool and each character had their own beautifully done arc. I loved and adored how the show solidified and expanded on the different friendships/relationships that were involved—specifically Soul and Maka’s (also, holy shit, Stein’s arc? Fucking prime, dude). There was a lot of growth in each and every friendship (CRONA!!!), and that really pushed the viewer to invest in the individual characters.
I am fucking delighted that this was my first anime, and (though the ending was a little anticlimactic) it remains one of my top favorites to this day. It set the bar pretty fucking high, and for that I am extremely greatful.
No one asked for Soul Eater: Not! It is the unspoken sin of the Soul Eater world (then again, it is called Soul Eater: Not!)
2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Tumblr media
If you have been following me for a while, then you are no stranger to my love of FMAB. Some of my most popular posts are about this anime, and for good reason.
Unfortunately, I was late to the party. I actually didn’t watch this until last year, but got invested really damn quick. I have a tendency to be extremely picky about the animes that I watch/like (which is why NONE of these shows are that recent), to the point that I will literally research them before I start watching (a bad habit, do not copy me). I have an incomparably hard time finishing a show when I start, because I get bored really quickly, but this was an exception. I started watching and I just... didn’t stop. I spent a straight week watching FMAB, gobbling it up during any small amount free time I could manage, and finished it before I even knew what happened. I wasn’t picky about it, I didn’t research it, I just dove right in and gosh, I was not disappointed.
The subtle romance that was alluded throughout the entire show was super cute, the devotion the brothers had for each other was to die for, and the struggles that each person went through was more than moving. I never once found myself bored while watching, and that’s saying a lot for my adhd ass. I was invested in each and every second of that damn anime and I was never, ever left underwhelmed. That probably had to do with the fact that every. Single. Character. Had a purpose. I’m not even kidding. Every single person contributed to the big fight at the end and that alone is fucking fantastic.
Not to mention ALL the women, every female character, was a badass bitch. None of them were reduced to sex appeal or romantic subplot, they all had real feelings, real arcs and real, unadulterated badassery that I thoroughly admired and appreciated. I could watch this anime over and over again every single month and I wouldn’t get bored. Between the emotional struggle, self discovery, and personal development of each character, I promise you will not see a lack of plot or meaning here. The more you watch, the more you discover and that is not a lie. There are so many layers to its story, which only makes me wish I had watched this sooner.
There is nothing I have to offer in the ways of criticism, and for that I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Hiromu Arakawa, for such an incredible piece of art. You deserve every bit of love that this manga/anime gets. You go girl.
1. Cowboy Bepop
Tumblr media
Holy shit holy shit holy shit this anime is so fucking good and it has been my favorite for so damn long. I have been watching anime for years, and while some of the shows in my list have moved around, this one has yet to be bumped down from the top (and I doubt it ever will). There’s a reason it became such a cult classic.
For starters, the animation. I mean, just look at Spike and the way they animate his fighting (yes I am aware that this gif is from the movie, but that still doesn’t change my point). The sequences in the show/film have been reused in many other shows and for good reason. It’s good, incredible, actually and they make him look so badass with just a few hand movements. I was consistently impressed with the way the fight scenes were portrayed and wasn’t ever left underwhelmed or disappointed (or, for that matter, feeling like they completely over exaggerated/overcompensated the scene with huge close-ups and tons of debris and lights). I loved watching this and my heart was always pounding with every intense interaction. I didn’t feel bored during any of the episodes and always found myself laughing when they cracked a joke—pretty much all of their funny lines hit and that’s saying something, dude.
Tumblr media
The show, while having a lighthearted surface, has a heavy meaning that you don’t see at first glance. It’s about dealing with grief and loss, and how the characters themselves accomplished that in different ways. The most prominent quote is the biggest indication of its moral “you’re gonna carry that weight”. Basically: ‘You’ve gotta pick up your baggage, because the world moves on, with or without you’. Or ‘You’re going to carry that weight whether you like it or not, because life keeps going’. When I figured out the show’s actual message, while staring at my ceiling in the long hours of the night, I almost cried. This realization brought something entirely different to the table, a new understanding of the show’s characters and overall essence.
The main characters, all of them, had depth. They had real, palpable depth, and even if you didn’t want to care you found yourself seriously interested in their lives. Each of them had relatively shitty pasts. Faye with her lost memories, Spike with Julia and the people who fucked him over, Jet with his old flame and the ISSP, Ed and her/his father... throughout the entire show we got to see how all of them dealt with these things, whether they wanted to continue on with life or not. The way they portrayed it was engaging, because the characters individual, contrasting journeys weren’t repetitive or one note. The beauty that the show holds so achinging close to its core, the layers of grief that the characters are wrapped in so delicately is almost suffocatingly real—because they’re all different. It’s something you discover when you think on the subject in a deeper light, which is another reason why I enjoy it so much. It has both a surface story and a deeper one. You can either take the show at face value or choose to understand the underlying moral.
This show inspired my very first, thoroughly fleshed out OC, and continues to inspire me to this day. It has contributed to my own personal growth, and has helped push me to continue my art and writing. It is beautifully written, beautifully executed and even though some of the episodes seem like filler, it has never disappointed me. I rewatch it all the time because there’s something so infinitely refreshing about the beauty of this anime, whether it be the way we watch the characters develop or the overall moral it portrays. This show has given us a message that is essentially timeless, it can be ‘carried’ through generation after generation, and still have the same impact—something I absolutely fucking adore.
I owe so much to this anime, including my very own artistic development. I discovered it during a really shitty time in my life and I couldn’t have asked for better timing. I will never tire of the bittersweet message or the thoroughly fucking fantastic animation. Everyone who contributed to this masterpiece deserves love, because it’s seriously fucking gold.

so,,, yesterday i read this manhwa called “the horizon” (i forget the author but ill put them in the tags) and good god... it was so heartbreakingly beautiful and im gonna make a few posts about it B) ((i say a few bc theres a few things i wanna talk about but i dont wanna make it all unorganized ?? if that makes sense))
first theres just the amazing artwork done in this piece... the range is just fucking incredible and every single panel had so much work and heart put into it and i had to sit there just to really admire the art of each page for a long time (usually im an impatient little bitch and skim artwork in manga/manhwa but damn this one was something else). but like !! look at how many different styles and shit the artist did depending on the circumstances !!
oh if i didnt mention,, this manhwa is like an apocalyptic world where this little boy meets a little girl and they just sort of roam the world together right... but they come across so many terrible things and theres this back and forth between hope and despair and everytime you start to be like “hey maybe things will be good for them, or at least as good as they can be” the tiniest thing happens that just shatters all that hope to the ground and suddenly everything is lost again. it really reminds me of this book i read for english called the road by uh.. something mccarthy i think... and it was about a boy and his dad trying to survive and walk down a road together in a post apocalyptic world and it was also sad as shit. BUT IM GETTING OFF TOPIC. BACK TO THE ARTWORK.
so thE RANGE OF STYLES YES THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. as i already said, its just this whole rollercoaster of emotions but it really forces you to sit there and fucking f e e l your emotions yknow? it makes it impossible to just sit there and be like “lol damn thats sad” ,, the art and the layout are so shocking and stunning that you h a v e to sit there and admire them and think about the events and really just feel every ounce of emotion and loss that the characters are going through and that the artist put into this piece. it did this thing where it would sometimes stretch on for a few pages of just the same frame with tiny differences just taking up the whole page without any words/little words to let the magnitude of the situation sink in and envelope you. its so powerful with its message especially with the themes of hope and loss and it just... usually i keep pop culture/anime/manhwa feels separate from my irl feels but... dude this one was so fuckin amazing that i genuinely had to take a break a few times bc the feels were getting all mixed up and i genuinely felt that sorrow that the characters were feeling. i seriously wanna read this again actually so i focus more on the amazing art since i know the story already.
i just love how much it switches up from all the different looks too. sometimes it would have that classic anime/manhwa feel to it especially when there were lots of characters (i didnt include a sc for that oops) but a lot of the time it would focus on the beauty/emptiness of the landscape around the characters since there wasnt really much left in the world. there were a lot of gruesome scenes drawn in that sort of chalky/charcoaly look that involved death and i am just obsessed with how they made it look so organic and like it was actually, yknow decomposing. they also used a really messy scribbly style when super chaotically terrible things where happening, both externally and internally which was such a perfect reflection of those bundled up negative and hopeless emotions that were present throughout the story. it sort of made it seem like those things were simply too horrible to be drawn fully and even the artist couldnt subject the reader to such a terrible sight. also ... the use of color... usually they would use color to represent the presence of hope and damn dude it really worked... especially after seeing some of these same images consecutively and that dramatic change really makes the reader feel so much brighter and happier when hope is back in the story !! although that one other colored scene... where the boy is in the ocean... god that hurts my heart so badly... i think the color was used in that case to show the reality of his situation and that it was really r e a l yknow ??? it wasnt just a comic written to make ppl sad and thinking about death,, this is that kids whole LIFE and he had to accept the (bad thing that happened but im not gonna write it bc i dont wanna spoil) was something that happened and now he really had no reason to keep on living... and all these feelings are so wonderfully portrayed and definitely did a very good job of making me, the reader, Very Sad.
HAHA I DIDNT WANT THIS TO BE TOO LONG BUT I RAMBLED LMAO... ill prolly make one or two more posts about this but they wont nearly be as long dont worry

RATE THE EPISODE 94 Responses
Tumblr media
Although a bit muted compared to last week, the response to this episode was still overwhelmingly positive, with 96.8% of people giving it a rating of 3 and higher. MAPPA’s on a roll!
Amazing!!!!
i just wanna see more!! 20 minutes is not enough. its too good
Awesome episode! Great pacing and the cgi was not too noticeable.
WAAAAYYYYY TOO HYPE
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING MOMENTS WAS YOUR FAVORITE? 93 Responses
Tumblr media
Mikasa and Levi took the spotlight this week! 30.1% of viewers felt most hyped up by Mikasa’s “explosive” reintroduction to the anime, while 22.6% were stoked to see Levi take on Porco to save Eren. 18.3% were most hyped by the Survey Corps taking on the Jaw Titan and the subsequent cliffhanger.
THE CGI CONTINUES TO BE A POINT OF CONTENTION. BE HONEST, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EXECUTION OF CGI SO FAR THIS SEASON? 93 Responses
Tumblr media
Just under 50% of responses seemed to indicate that they thought MAPPA was doing very well with the CGI utilized. A little over 15% stated that although it was not their favorite, they understood that it could be a lot worse. Other responses (in order) were being neutral about the CGI, not liking it, but understanding the need for its usage and folks who adamantly rejected 3D animation.
I actually prefer CGI titans because of the way their movements looks, it looks almost slower, to me it fits very well with how the big titans are. Im not an anime guy at all so ive never seen cgi in other anime but i really like the way Mappa's CGI looks, it blends in very well. I dont like CGI people though, the shot with Jean throwing the marly soldier off the rooftop i didn't like very much.
I feel horrible saying this believe me... but I really vibed with the CGI up until this episode. I think maybe because it's the first time its been used on humans (OPM) rather then titans. I'm not massively put off though, I really apreciate the efforts this episode must have taken. TY Mappa
The episode is great no doubt, my only concern is the CG personally, as a 3D artist myself, I think I would prefer an all 2D medium like the battle at Stohess. Using 3D is fine as long as it blends seamlessly to the background, like kengan ashura, it's not perfect but bearable.
I honestly think that 2D will always 100% be better than cgi but I can understand why mappa is using cgi
It was fine in the other episodes, but in this episode, it looked overused and bit bad
HOW WAS EREN’S ROOFTOP SWAN DIVE? 94 Responses
Tumblr media
When it came down to Eren’s swan rooftop dive (“Like a fallennn angel…”), the majority seemed to be impressed, with 68% giving it a score of 4 or higher. It was not a monolithic opinion however and many seemed also rated it poorly. Do better, Eren!
WHICH RETURNING CHARACTER’S ENTRANCE WAS YOUR FAVORITE IN THIS EPISODE? 94 Responses
Tumblr media
The Survey Corps has returned! Of these reappearances, viewers most enjoyed Mikasa’s (48.9%), Levi’s (31.9%) and Sasha’s (14.9%) the most. Jean and Connie got a little less love, though we’re sure people were still happy to see them!
WHICH RETURNING CHARACTERS HAS THE BEST GLOW UP? 93 Responses
Tumblr media
It would appear that the slight plurality sees Mikasa as having the best glow up out of the cast, followed by (in order) Eren, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Floch and Levi. The Old Captain doesn’t like to change up his style, we suppose.
Eren didn't have a glow up- he had a glow down.
Mikasa can stomp on me please god
OF ALL THE ORIGINAL CAST, WE STILL HAVE NOT SEEM ARMIN, HANGE OR HISTORIA YET. WHICH OF THE THREE ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING NEXT? 93 Responses
Tumblr media
In relation to the previous question, we still haven’t seen 3 major members of the cast. Armin, Hange and Historia. When we asked which of the three you were most looking forward to seeing next, the slight majority (52.7%) expressed their excitement for seeing Armin again, followed by 11.8% wanting to see Hange most. Some others have also expressed their desire to see Historia again. 17.2% simply could not choose and 10.8% stated that they simply didn’t care about the 3 characters.
WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE WARHAMMER TITAN? 90 Responses
Tumblr media
The Warhammer received an overwhelmingly positive response, with the majority expressing much excitement over both its design and powers. 15.6% noted that the design was a bit too creepy for their liking, but the powers were awesome. And on the flip side, 10% noted the Titan’s design was rather cool, in contrast to its rather OP ability. A select few did not enjoy either aspect.
Would probably enjoy it more if it belonged to someone that likely is not going to be just cannon fodder
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE NEW UNIFORMS? 92 Responses
Tumblr media
The Survey Corps returned sporting new uniforms to much fanfare. 30.4% of respondents really enjoy the upgrade, finding the suits to be badass. 23.9% couldn’t find the words and just settled for pure hype. 20.7% enjoy the new uniforms just as much as they enjoy the classic uniforms. 12% felt it was a much needed upgrade, though 10.9% don’t care at all about the uniform change.
I like both but I prefer the old design
EREN SAYS TO MIKASA, “YOU GUYS ACTUALLY CAME.” THIS IS FOLLOWED UP BY MIKASA ASKING EREN TO COME HOME. DOES THIS INSINUATE THAT EREN WENT TO THE MAINLAND ON HIS OWN? 90 Responses
Tumblr media
The circumstances of the Survey Corps’ presence on the mainland continues to be a mystery. When we asked about whether Eren was there alone or not a few episodes ago, the majority believed that he was either there alongside the Survey Corps or was sent there by them. Overall, the feelings seem to be the same (that Eren came alongside the Survey Corps). 45.6% think that Mikasa’s words may have some other meaning and that things are way too planned out to be coincidence. 18.9% believe that Eren did go rogue, while 15.6% think that Eren didn’t necessarily go rogue, but wasn’t working with them for a while either. The remaining 20% have already been spoiled on this particular plot point.
THE ATTACK ON LIBERIO SEEMS TO PARALLEL THE BREACH OF SHIGANSHINA. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS EVENT IN COMPARISON? 92 Responses
Tumblr media
Now that both sides of the conflict have had their rude awakening, we asked how you guys felt about the two events comparatively. 33.7% feel that both attacks were tragic, but still feel more empathy toward the Eldians on Paradis than they do toward those who were raised on Marley. At a tie, 22.8% of respondents felt that the victims of the Liberio attack got what was coming with them, while another 22.8% felt about the same amount of sympathy for the victims on both sides. 10.9% feel this is way worse than what happened in Shiganshina and feel more sympathy for the victims in Liberio.
I am yet to know the goals behind this attack.
Marley did this countless times so I don’t feel bad for them. I kind of feel for eldians tho bc they are brainwashed from a young age to give up their lives for a country who doesn’t give a shit about them.
Honestly they deserve what Eren is doing to them. Excluding Falco, no one outside of Paradis has earned my sympathy, even with the additional context.
SADLY, UDO AND ZOFIA DID NOT SURVIVE THE ATTACK ON LIBERIO. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THEIR DEATHS? 91 Responses
Tumblr media
Udo and Zofia have joined the ranks of characters who tagged along with the main cast for a while only to be killed off for character development. 25.3% anticipated at least one of them to die, but not both. Another tie on this poll, 24.2% stated that they were disappointed and was hoping to see more of them, while another 24.2% didn’t care about them at all. 14.3% are happy to ditch the focus on them in favor of more familiar characters, and 8.8% feel pure and utter devastation.
Good riddance Warrior scum
Sad but allows for Gabi’s development
sad but okay. death is common in this anime.
EREN AND FLOCH’S LAST INTERACTION IN S3 WAS A VERY TENSE ARGUMENT. NOW IT SEEMS FLOCH IS DEDICATED TO EREN’S CALL TO ACTION, SHIFTING THE “NECESSARY DEVIL” STATUS FROM ERWIN ONTO HIM. WHAT DO YOU THINK THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS LIKE NOW? 91 Responses

Eren and Floch were anything but BFF’s at the closing of season 3. Now Floch seems to be wholly devoted to Eren’s cause… What changed? 28.6% believe that nothing has actually changed in terms of their relationship, but that Floch simply just latched onto Eren’s fight in need of a new devil. 23.1% feel that they still aren’t friends, but are in more comfortable “ally” territory. 15.4% aren’t sure what to make of it. Smaller handfuls feel that they either grew to become friends and/or co-conspired to attack Liberio together. 22% are already spoiled on the details.
Floch is easily persuaded...and annoying 🤷‍♀️
WE SEE GABI GRAB THE GUARD’S FUN AFTER WITNESSING SASHA KILL HIM. WHAT DO YOU THINK MIGHT HAPPEN? 90 Responses

Gabi moves headstrong into the fight, wanting to play her part in defending her hometown. A large chunk of anime only viewers have been spoiled on future developments for her character. But for those still in the dark - 24.4% feel that she will successfully kill a member of the Survey Corps. 21.1% aren’t sure what to expect, while 10% think she will only manage to injure someone in the Survey Corps. Smaller amounts feel she won’t be successful in any capacity or may even die herself.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
Epic episode, survey corps come back, OH YEAH, but I wished they didn’t use CGI on humans and bettered the CGI on Titans.
It really makes me sad how Eren is continuing the cycle of revenge by killing innocent Marleyan civilians, but it makes sense for his character.
Real cool ep but w h e r e a r m i n
It sucks that I like the warriors and the Corp bc both of them are victims in different way so seeing them have to go head to head sucks. They all deserve better
SO great I loved it! However, I missed Reiner, Falco, and Zeke. I hope they're okay :-) RIP Udo and Zofia :-(
I think I need more dialogue between the old crew to really settle back in with them. I kinda believe that Mappa's still trying to 'click', they obviously can't just get it right immediately. Other then that I loved the titan scenes, more than ODM scenes 😔
This was a great episode and I was literally vibrating in my seat from excitement! I think MAPPA is doing a great job with the animation and the music works really well with the action. Can’t wait for the rest of the season!
I miss wit studio
Willy seems to have his first daughter really early, he looks like 30 !
I’d say the episode as a whole is a solid 8-9/10, the cgi in some parts really ruins the moment for me
