not trying to be a hater bc i think that’s dumb and i don’t think zepotha is worse than goncharov because it’s a marketing stunt. i’m pretty sure the girl marketing her song is like. a teenager, and she’s just trying to come up with something that will get her song noticed and good for her. here’s why i actually think zepotha doesn’t work: no one is committing enough to the bit. i have seen equal amounts of people Explaining the joke of zepotha and discussing the logistics of making up this movie as i have seen people actually playing along. goncharov did not have that problem even a little bit. NO ONE broke character. any discussion of goncharov was completely and totally playing along with the idea that it was totally real. anything that was out of character was like, vague posts about how funny it was with goncharov merely tagged. zepotha can’t be goncharov because no one committed enough, they were too proud of the idea.

I love the rhyming on ttpd. can only think of two examples currently but I know there’s more.

#the dancing phantoms on the terrace do they get second hand embarrassed #is e v e r y t h I n g #but also I can’t stop thinking about:#you. look. like. taylor swift. in this light—we’re lovin’ it #like just the flow. the cadence. not even just the rhyme but #her ease with language and playfulness with it and all the little pockets and corners of so many songs #even ones you think you don’t like. settle in with time!#like the thing about taylor is that she is VERY much a poet #in that some of her genius/way with words is innate #and the images and stuff she uses the turns of phrase can feel so garish and embarrassing on first listen #they JAR #but honestly I think it’s because she is truly …. new? she is doing something NEW #and the shock and outrage that always goes with new things is always present with a Taylor album #and I think she’s drawing on so much from the past to write but she is so deeply rooted in the present cultural moment #so it’s so easy to dismiss her writing on first glance as like. idk a college girl’s idea of poetry #as being too Stark or Melodramatic.#she loves OBVIOUS imagery and extremely dramatic ones too #but she isn’t actually just throwing stuff at the wall #because pretty much always. it starts to land and soften and settle #and the image she’s chosen has done its job of drawing you into a world #and/or communicating an emotion #and sometimes it’s so upsetting. like. get me out of the bedroom with Matty Healy taylor!!!!!!!!!! but. the art is art-ing!#I guess is what I’m saying. she’s good at this it isn’t just hype #but some of it really is that she’s taking us places we might not want to go or are so quick to pass judgment on #as being unworthy of a song or more importantly a poem. but present art HAS to do that #and does do it!!!!!! idk I am just. musing

shaken to my CORE by your thoughts on jealousy not being something that needs a voice. I always struggle with it as one of my flaws and sometimes find that saying it aloud helps me to admit it sometimes. But there is not in fact much to say about it after that is there!!!!! Like we just all have to move on from the thing!

Exactly!!! When I’m feeling irritable and annoyed at a person I do have to stop and say “I’m not actually mad at this person. I’m jealous of them.” But then after that??? What else is there?? Pious meditation on how much they deserve the good things they have isn’t helpful, because what is “deserve” and who of us deserves what we get, and repeating to myself “I’m so happy for them I’m so happy for them I’m so happy for them” doesn’t do anything, because I can be genuinely happy for them and sickeningly jealous of them at the same time!! As soon as you’ve named the direction of the thoughts “jealousy” you just have to head it off at the pass! There is nothing good down that road!!!!

#and I do think jealousy gets a spotlight in a too-large portion of Olivia’s work #like in sour. okay. I get it. it’s a first album and she had limited life experience and she was writing what she knew #but then guts came out and there’s lacy and pretty isn’t pretty and obsessed?? three songs?????#three???????#and none of them are as good as jealousy jealousy!!!#none of them have the clarity of ‘comparison is killing me slowly’#because! honestly! I think once you give jealousy the reins you LOSE clarity!

I see a lot of people have made covers of the snippet of Everybody's Waiting (the new JO track)

I may do it too but at the same time I am hesitant given that I am 90% sure they won't see it (since everything else I'd ever made have never been noticed by them - Bojan's big share yesterday included) and if by chance it is getting seen I am not sure how I'd feel having the first thing noticed by them be just another cover

I am probably overthinking things again

#so here's the t in the tags (aka me ranting)#I have not felt great about my art or my contribution to the joker out and käärijä fandom recently #I have honestly felt like an art block is coming #the few things I have been able to create just doesn't feel good to me #and I don't get the same satisfaction of sharing it either #Ik I should be grateful for whatever faves and views it gets but I cannot help but feel underappreciated #which in turn doesn't make me feel motivated to make more #the last few days I have actually been more drawn to playing my guitar and writing songs than creating artwork #so that is what I've been doing #in that regard creating a little cover would maybe be fun #and yet I fear I'd fall into the same trap as with the art #that now I might make something to share with the fandom it has stakes #and in the end the stakes will be too high since I cannot help but compare what I make #and so I will lose interest in making music as well #honestly I feel kind of lost #I have had days I just stop working for half an hour to several hours #falling down an unproductive rabbit hole where I just stare out into the blue or at a youtube video #I don't want to be here #I want to love what I do and love sharing it with you again #but after a pretty productive and somewhat decent january #I now feel meh about it all #thank you for reading my tag novel #I will go now #micahs thoughts #micahs foolery

kard was SO FUN but honestly people need to be FAR more mindful of their phones at gigs. i get that you want to film for friends or for memories or whatever other reason, but every time a song starts and a hundred phones go up it makes it REMARKABLY difficult to actually see the stage.

#my friend and i had a good spot too #right in the middle with a clear view of the stage #pretty close to the front of the general admission queue #and then i spent the whole gig on tiptoes or crouching to watch around people's phone screens #and let me tell you #some of the videos people got were not even good #because there were just other phones in the way #and do you honestly need to film every single song?#not to be a 'live in the moment' bitch because i do understand why people want to film #but would you not have more fun if you actually just enjoyed the gig without worrying about getting a good shot?#i know this likely won't ever change #but it does frustrate me at every kpop gig #brixton used to be ok because the floor was sloped #but no such luck with the electric ballroom #also a girl putting her phone up super quickly at the start of bomb bomb nearly elbowed me in the face #i just wish people would think about everyone else in the crowd at these things #kpop #nettle's thoughts

there's a certain irony to how when i was a teen video games were my favourite kind of media to consume and i barely watched any tv or movies or read any books or listened to music, but nowadays i do quite a bit of all those but i don't play many video games

#personal crap #it's mostly bc I've never been very good at most video games honestly #i used to try pretty hard to overcome that but never had much luck #and nowadays most video games don't interest me much even story wise #i always feel like they're too much of a time sink compared to watching a few hours of a movie or tv show or reading a book #or often less than an hour to listen to an album and a few minutes for a song #and with those you can progress through it linearly you can't really get stuck

Tbh i wish i could allow myself to become obsessed with anything but i like cant do that anymore it actually makes me feel awful. its like way too much instant gratification and dopamine it doesnt feel fulfilling to me it just feels kind of like gross and bad... Like do u know what i mean. I shouldve been born catholic or something

#like binging tv or eating too many treats or listening to 1 really good song on repeat #or like obsessing over a character or a band or an actor or a ummm anything #I wish i could explain it better #Maybe its just the baseline depression but i used to get pretty obsessive when i was younger #and arguably more depressed #maybe thats WHY i was obsessive though.
