This was the first nectary lot I created for the Sunset Valley world when I bought the World Adventures expansion pack. Originally 25x30, I changed it to 30x30 to make it easier for others to place it in their preferred worlds. I removed all CCs and decided to keep it exclusive for WA objects only. No spawners but it does have WA grapes, so your Gardener Sims can harvest them without traveling to Champs Les Sims. Unfortunately, all of them are normal to nice quality only but when I have more time on my hands, I will definitely get back to this and update it to perfect quality.

I placed a L'amour des Fruits Nectar Maker for your Sims to try making their own nectars and added a bedroom, bathroom, computer and fridge in case they get tired or hungry waiting for the nectar process to complete. I only placed 18 nectar racks to prevent routing issues because, for some reason, this lot is busy in my world almost every day.

This lot has been play-tested and I've used it in all my saved games. Let me know if you experience any problems on your end. Click on the link below for more information about this lot.

I don't know if it happens to you - but I often find myself with a sudden urge to rebuild worlds - Even though I'm the worst sim-builder and sim-decorator in the whole history of Sims 😋 And in my quest for lots there's one thing that stresses me out all the time: where will the builds fit in the map?! 🤯 Therefore, I have been creating some personal lists with favourite lots and I thought why not sharing them with you too!

The General Hospital is a Maxis one, but from Riverview. @nornities ( thanks A LOT for his/her patience to check Champignac ) pointed to us different things : missing mostly. so, somes of you may not see the Hospital ( Hopital des Bleuets ) in their game.

The series, which has been running since 1938, shares many characteristics with other European humorous adventure comics like The Adventures of Tintin and Asterix. It has been written and drawn by a succession of artists ... Spirou and Fantasio are the series' main characters, two adventurous journalists who run into fantastic adventures, aided by Spirou's pet squirrel Spip, the Marsipulami, and their inventor friend the Count of Champignac ... :D

INFO:  1. I rebuilt 1st part of the castle with Great Hall, Clock Tower and two bridges - Wooden and Stone. Original lots had terrible bug and were sinking.

2. Hogsmeade settlement. I used lots from vssdgames’s Hogwarts Wizarding World. Only The Shrieking Shack is made by me. Lots are a bit modified, partially funrnished. Commercial lots are: 

city hall (with police station), theatre, nectary, hospital, art gallery,science center, library, bookstore and spa, food store, consigment store, military base, stadium, school and graveyard.

Settlement features 10 houses for your sims.

Sims 3 Tip!

If you are playing in Starlight Shores, or any world - add a nectary like this one to your town! It fits in well with the landscape and it adds more gameplay without vacationing to Champs Les Sims.

In my legacy, I had my heir purchase the lot and so now my family owns it!

So, I’m planning on having a “Red Light” district in my town, and today I started work on it. Yes, I did! 1st thing I did was go over to TSR to see if they had anything - which they did! Mutske built one! Only problem was it was on a weird-sized lot. So, I downloaded Wimmie’s Sunset Mall and am converting it. 

This is a 50x50 space and her lot was much smaller, so it will be perfect. Anyway, first thing I did was get rid of all the interior crap she had on those top 3 levels. This is going to be a content-heavy lot with just the lower 2 levels, so no use cluttering it up with useless nonsense just to fill up space. Then I started re-arranging interior walls. On this end, I moved the itsy-bitsy bar she had in the dark brown section to the 2nd level. It’ll still be a bar, but it’ll have a lot more space.

In that light tan part, she had 2 of those coffee bar thiniges and 2 tables and chairs. Period. I got rid of all of that - including a bathroom, that I moved elsewhere. (BTW, the exterior will change as I proceed. In fact, this tan build has already gotten a new exterior texture. Plus, I’m adding more signage and stuff as I go. That lighted billboard by cyclonesue, for example).  

I added this bump-out to the back of the building to give my sims a bit more seating. Then, I added those planters to keep the student sim drivers in the parking lot where they belong.

I’ve made this into an ice cream shop - mostly because my sims always like to visit them. That, and nectarys. Anyway, I changed the finishes on the windows and doors - hers were way too dark for my new color-scheme - then redid the floor. Where the ice cream counter is, is where she had her bathroom. Moving it, freed up a lot of space. Then I put in that archway into my greenhouse room. Actually, apart from the 4 walls, everything has been changed in this part. Including the wallpaper.

It’s just some tables and chairs back here - plus that chocolate thingie from the store and a coffee machine from that Cafe set from TSR. The bathroom is now on the other side of the elevator. That’s the area that used to have the bar - about 5 or 6 spaces wide. Now, I’ve divided it up into a hallway to the elevator, and the rest will be my PI office.

France is a beautiful world but there is not much to do in it unless you go tomb exploring. So the next day is spent doing the things they did the previous day. Nectary, tasting wine ... lots of tasting wine.

One thing that's different for Danzig is that a local sim, Adele, wants him to pose for a photo since he's a 3-star celebrity, even in France. While he obliges another local sim, Colette Bonnet, catches his eye. He proceeds to make her Girlfriend #6 rendering Napolean Minton heartbroken.

Career World: Career Challenge Rules (Finances)

I've made a series of Career Challenges to help you get the most out of playing my Career World save file. Here's part 2 of the challenge rules: finances.

Finances:

As a general rule, you may not cheat for money during this challenge. No motherlode, no money x, not even kaching. I mean, come on, it’s a career challenge! What you can do, though, in order to give your sims the ability to do expensive things like move where their job is or open businesses at the proper moments, is download Scarlet and MizoreYukii’s SimCity Loans mod–or, if you’d rather not download the mod, read their rules and do loans for your sims by hand using in-game cheats. This will enable you to essentially take out a mortgage on a new house or a startup loan on a new business (or even some home furnishings if you don’t want to live in an empty box), so you can buy it before you have the money in hand.

If you are taking out a loan to start a business, there are a few extra steps:

Step 1) Gain enough entrepreneurial skill to write a business plan.

Step 2) Write a business plan. If it comes out poor quality, write another one. Repeat as needed until you have a good-quality business plan in hand.

Step 3) What do you plan to do with your business plan? If just submit it regularly, travel to San Myshuno Central Bank (basement level of San Myshuno City Hall), preferably in a business-y outfit. As per the travel restrictions rules, you will need to stay in San Myshuno for a couple of days and take time off work if you don’t live there. If you have no friends to stay with, sleep on a park bench and only visit public lots. If you plan to go on Llama’s Lair, travel to the Celebrity Mansion Museum in Del Sol Valley (same restrictions, except the show will put you up at the Plumbob Motel).

Step 4) Once you are at your destination, either send off your business plan or go on Llama’s Lair.

Step 5) If (and only if) your plan is approved, you may now take out a loan for the remaining amount your business needs, using the bank computer (they’ll helicopter you out to San Myshuno to do this if you went the Llama’s lair route). A word of warning, though: if you take out a loan to start a business for one of the challenge goals (including a residential business like a nectary or a farm), that goal will not be considered completed until you pay back your startup loan.

For Mortgages: If you’re coming straight from Create-A-Sim and need a cheap place to crash while you take out a loan on the house you really want, I have left a lot in Newcrest totally undeveloped for precisely this kind of waystation use. If you’re doing this, you have special permission to travel out-of-world to the San Myshuno Municipal Bank in the basement of San Myshuno City Hall to take out your loan.

That all said, there are some specific circumstances in which you may use money cheats for storytelling purposes. They include the following:

If you are a celebrity Athlete who has met all the requirements to go to the Olympic Games, your world’s government (or a corporate sponser; Power-Sip, anyone?) gives you a 10,000 simoleon grant to represent them. This will not quite cover the entire cost of your 5-day stay in the expensive Olympic Village rental lot, but it will come close. Either pay the rest out-of-pocket or use advanced charisma skill to borrow it from other sims.

If you are simultaneously in the Military career and attending university, your tuition (though not room and board) is free per the G.I. bill. Cheat yourself the exact cost of your tuition every semester, either in advance or as a reimbursement.

If you are an author, or any other profession that writes books (like professor), and you need to get a copy of your book into the local library, here’s how you do it: change the library to a retail lot, cheat your writer sim however much they need to buy it, buy the retail lot, open a bookshelf on the lot and drop your book(s) in, sell the business, cheat your money back down to where it was, and change the lot type back to library. Your book should now be in the library bookshelves for everyone to enjoy. NOTE: A similar but slightly different process is needed to donate artifacts to the archaeological museum in Selvadorada. Go to the museum with your sim and place the artifacts you want to donate into the displays where you want them. Without leaving the lot, go into build mode and upload the lot to your library, then re-download it from your library. The artifacts should now stay.

If you complete the random “married for money” opportunity—and I mean the version where you actually get married within seven days, not the “no strings attached” option—the will now also leaves you a house (because 5,000 simoleons doth not a vast fortune make, and house bequests are very common with marriage requirements, in hopes that you will settle down and continue the family line). Here’s the catch: you don’t get to pick the house. Assign all empty houses in all worlds a number, then use a random number generator to determine which one you get. Cheat yourself exactly enough money to buy the house, buy it, and move to it (with your new spouse—no cheating by not moving in together). You may not simply cheat yourself the price of the house and not move. Don’t want to move to a random world, possibly losing your job in the process? Don’t take the opportunity.

If you are the first family to move into an unoccupied unofficial apartment building (i.e. a lot built as apartments rather than a regular apartment), you may cheat yourself exactly enough money to “buy” the apartment building. After that, you’re on your own to pay the property taxes, which are likely to be substantial, as your “rent.” I highly recommend getting NPC roommates to move into the other units, as they will pay their share every week and consequently lower your “rent” to something more reasonable for a sim apartment. While here, you may refurnish your unit but not alter walls, window placement, etc. or delete the furnishings in the other units for money. If you later move out of the apartment building, use only the money in your sim’s account to buy your new place (do not use the value of the apartment lot) and use money x to lower your money back down to the appropriate value after you move—you may not keep the value of the apartment lot post-move.

Conversely, if you move into a “condo” building, you must use the money x cheat to lower your own money by the amount of the sticker price in the building description. You are, however, then free to alter the structure within your own unit any way you like. As with the apartments, if the building was previously unoccupied, you may cheat yourself enough to buy the lot, provided you have the condo price in-hand first and factor it out after the purchase. Move-out of a condo must also be done carefully, as you can’t use the value of the lot in your move; however, you may use the value of your own unit, equal to the sticker price.

Other than these few specific instances, get your money through your career and its related activities. Do not engage in random money-generating activities on the side unless they make sense: for example, a Conservationist or Scientist might have a career interest in breeding frogs, but other professions wouldn’t, so don’t have your Lawyer breed frogs as a side hustle. Don’t run around randomly gathering and selling collectibles—there’s a sim FDA now that won’t give you a permit to sell some random mushrooms you found growing in the street (though you may, of course, eat them yourself).

Entering video game tournaments for money is now restricted to the Royal Casino in Magnolia Promenade, the Olympic E-Sports Arena in Newcrest, the Wakaba Center Extension in Mt. Komorebi, or at Geekcon. You may only do village errands if you live in Henford-on-Bagley. Odd jobs are fair game for a bit of extra cash, but again, only the ones that make sense; if you live in Sulani, it’s all good; but if you don’t, stick to packing boxes and mowing lawns or other non-location-specific jobs—don’t take diving jobs/cave treasure/etc. You know, use your best judgement and don’t cheat.

Continuation 3/01/24

Their moderation process is still inconsistent and sometimes they make mistakes (like one of my uploads receiving a 'Changes Required' warning, only to be approved two minutes later without any changes made on my part). Unfortunately, there aren't many other sites that cater to The Sims 3 creations aside from Tumblr and TSR.

Moving forward, I will continue uploading my next builds to the MTS site but I will always prioritize Tumblr/SimFileShare. This means that any new creations will be first posted here and at MTS a week after or depending again on their moderation period.

📣 The MTS link for the 'The Monotwo' upload is back on their site. After inquiring about their Queue Bypass and Rejection process, which I didn't really get clear answers on their end, one of their administrators revived my thread, so I was able to add the required comparison pictures, which I did as soon as I read the notice.

I understand the importance of following rules and guidelines; believe me, I am a perfectionist. If you specify that the picture should be a certain size and dimension, I will make sure to adhere to it. I was just confused that their moderation seems inconsistent and was baffled that it was rejected without giving me notice first or letting me make the changes before they restricted the thread.

They stated in their guidelines that "Items with minor issues will be left 'live,' and a moderator will simply ask, via a comment on the thread, for the creator to fix the issues when they get a chance. Items with more major issues will be moved back to the queue with a note from the moderator and then either marked 'Changes Required' or removed."

You would think adding pictures falls under the Minor Issues category because their edit process is easy to navigate, where you can simply add the missing pictures but my upload was completely removed, thus they consider it a Major Issue.

Also, an admin said that "Bypass gives you three days to make changes, the queue gives 7 days to make changes. If an upload in bypass has completely ignored all the guidelines, chances are high that it will immediately be sent to the queue." My post was removed the day after I uploaded it, so I was not given three days at least, and I really didn't ignore all the guidelines but I was immediately sent to the queue, which got me confused.

Now, as I said above, I am a perfectionist but we humans tend to make mistakes once in a while. So, when I uploaded my first community lot on the MTS site, I forgot to add the comparison pictures to the Library Renovation. But weirdly, that upload was approved; thus, I figured maybe it was optional and then this happened, hence the confusion again. lol

Anyways, I just wanted to update this PSA and hopefully help other new creators in case they decide to use MTS as their main. I previously stated that I have decided not to upload my recent works with them until further notice and unfortunately, that statement still stands. I know it's weird for me to pause after one incident but I followed their upload process and expected a clear due process if mistakes happened. However, this one left a bad taste in my mouth somehow. 📣 The MTS link for my 'The Monotwo' upload has unfortunately been removed due to MTS rejecting the upload on their end. I felt disheartened when I received the message from their moderators and was more confused about the reason for their outright rejection. I expected there to be a due process where I would at least have a chance to edit my uploads but they removed it because I didn't post two comparison pictures of the original 'The Monotone' lot. I should have listened to other veteran creators when they warned me about the site, but alas, I was stubborn.

I have decided not to upload my recent works with them until further notice. To be honest, I just feel sad and my questions about it have not been answered yet. Knowing them, it may take days or weeks for that to be noticed or it might just get ignored. Anyways, my three other downloads will remain on my MTS profile if anyone is interested, but I will be using Sim File Share only moving forward.

Oaksoak Hollow - The Oak Market

Oaksoak Hollow grow from the green revolution the citizen undertook some years ago before #GoingGreen became a hashtag.

Slowly, Oaksoak Hollow saw the population count risen. A collective of business-minded decided to overtake the abandoned farm of the old oak and establish shops and boutiques. 6 buildings put to better use.

The market doesn't really have a name but the combination of a grocery, a nectary, a geek store and a spa knighted the place: The Oak Market. Nonetheless, it is highly frequented.

Oaksoak Hollow is named after the millennial oak on the lot. Nicknamed the Old Oak, the King of oaks or Oak's oak.

Oak Market is always said with a tongue in the cheek. The place is well beloved.

back to lovely witchy Saint Greer Islands thanks to @murfeelee because I went in to download some of their sci-fi things and got trapped by all their awesome magic cc.  Every town needs a winery though and St. Greer is no different!  What’s a magical town without a pub?  Wrong, that’s what it is!

The Lion and the Unicorn - no one is exactly sure where the ‘Overseas’ that Biff Humpledink went to is.   But they do know that he came back with a new tattoo and an all but magic brewing process.  The Lion and the Unicorn quickly became the place to grab a pint and relax at the end of a hard day.  And if an occasional out-of-towner never comes back from the basement from time to time ... well, you can’t make wine without squishing a few grapes.

Located in New England, River Falls started out as Fall River. Due to a terrible murder that rocked this small town, the community decided a new name and new start would be perfect! With the new influx of citizens coming from Binland, the town is sure to thrive again and put the past behind them.

Hanashobu - A teahouse and Martial Arts Academy by Catdog123. It is absolutely beautiful and I use it in almost every single one of my saves and have for years. It was originally just a teahouse on the first floor, but I added the dojo on the second floor and koi pond.

Tahoe Wilderness Cabin - this is a gorgeous rustic cabin that I have set as a resort. It doesn't have any resort objects on it yet as I figured most would want to edit their resort the way they would like. You can also set it back as a regular lot if you would like to use it as a home. It is fully decorated and furnished. EDIT TO ADD: LOL, it’s also backwards. I have no idea how I missed that. To flip it, save a copy in your bin, delete the lot, then replace the right way with the saved lot from your bin. My apologies, I can’t believe I messed that up eeesh!

The Haunt - A supernatural hangout that includes the Vault, Arboretum, and Gypsy Wagon.

Firehouse 9 - A firehouse themed dance club

Penny Pictures - a hangout where you can watch a movie and play some arcade games built by me 

KNOWN ISSUES

This is a save file that I have made. The original world map I used is Fall River by Roocheysims. I have also uploaded it here

There was a MASSIVE amount of those big oak trees that you can't see through, so I got rid of A LOT. I did not use the CC that is offered with the download, just the map, so it was entirely empty (except for the aforementioned trees and roads) when I started. I added quite a few new lots as well. I have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned this save to try and keep it down, but you can probably clean it before you play it as well. The map is really well made, there are no routing issues or anything I found as I played through to check everything. The only issue I found is that I had to replace some stairs on community lots. I have tried to keep all descriptions for the lots and sims that I didn’t make (if there was any) to give proper credit to the creators. I used some of my favorite lots and also ones I made myself. I have all expansions, all stuff packs, and all store content so I probably used them all.

The only expansion NOT used is PETS because it borks my game to unplayable so I don't use it. This world probably isn't the best for Pets as it is a medium sized world that only had room for 1 or 2 64x64 lots. I'm not sure how it will perform if you use Pets so my apologies for that! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO CC IN THIS SAVE. THE DOWNLOAD INCLUDES THE WORLD AND THE SAVE FILE.

So, here are some old shots of some of my town’s new buildings. (BTW, Johnny did a great job with this town and made some nice lots, I just like to “fix” things and make it my own. But it’s move-in ready if you don’t want to bother). 

This is the Spencer Reed library made by my friend @deelightfuldelights. I just added some stuff to the landscaping - like @mspoodle1′s bike set. (Thank you! I love that set!) 

This is the new police station. Johnny used one of those 3-in-1 city hall buildings. But since dee shared a really nice city hall with me, I needed this.

And here’s my city hall. Again, with more landscaping by me.

This is a combo laundromat/Chinese restaurant owned by the Chou family. Harks back to their past.

These are some shops down on my waterfront. There’s a bistro, flower shop, dance studio and pet store. They replaced EA rabbitholes.

This lot replaced an arcade. It has a bookstore, grocery, nectary, and a bar. Oh! And a spa.

I’ll post some more later, but now to create and kill Sims!

- additional lots / now the count is as follows:

27 residential lots = 16 regular lots, 3 houseboats & 8 empty lots;

28 community lots (11 rabbitholes-all base game careers;1 base camp; 3 diving spots;1 resort;1 public pool;1 fishing spot;1 gym; 1 nectary & orchard; 2 beaches; 5 ports) + 2 new lots (see bellow)

-  the world still requires only WA & IP, yet:

There’s now a festival grounds lot available for download. The base game version of the park is already placed in the world (Panigyri Park-tagged as small park). You’ll need to bulldoze it and place the Seasons version - Panigyri Park (Festival Grounds) in its place.

Agapi Park - a wedding venue that requires Generations and needs to be placed after you’ve changed the tag of the lot from Residential to Community-Small Park.

- cleaned up the global layer;

- the other details (listed in the original post) remain unchanged. Check it out for more info and pictures.

- everything has already been tested, but let me know if you find any issues;

- the world is available now as both sims3pack and world files. I recommend installing the world file.

- the 2 lots come as packages and must be placed in the Library folder. The archives contain pictures with their placement in the world. Also, you’ll find pics of the new lots at the end of this post.

- please, don’t play an old save even though the game will allow it. Start a new game instead.
