CHAMPIGNAC : A NEW SIMS 3 WORLD
Champignac is a fully living Frenchy suburbia World based on Champs-les-Sims and has nothing to do with a vacation place ... Well, nothing is not really the right word ;)
Back in 2016/2017, when we began to think how we could remade Champs-les-Sims, we didn't know really what kind of world we wanted to do. We named the project : Sims de Nimes. Then, because we were on other projects ( such as sims 4 k-mods ) we left Sims de Nimes somewhere in the pipes.
We made Oaksoak Hollow ( based on Mystic Falls ), we made Eureka Valley ( a world between tech and classic life ) and we left behind the Sims 4 because, well ... too long to explain. :D
So, it was time to get out of the box our old project of Sims de Nimes ... During this time, some talented creators re-made Champs-les-Sims with their own vision, more oldy or more city life like, or more like Sunset Valley ... All those versions are interesting, but we wanted something else. And so, is born Champignac !
Tumblr media
If Champignac is a true living suburbia world, it is too a quite rural world, almost a village with :
37 Community Lots
36 Residential Lots
10 Medieval Towers all around the town :)
:)
Tumblr media
In addition, it remains few Empty Lots, differently sized to suit whatever you wish ... So, let's say Champignac is a french-not-so-little-town where life is slowly flowing and dynamic at the same time, perfect for families and Sims looking for a different lifestyle :)
A typical downtown and outskirts, full of old buildings and southern architecture, a joyful mix between south-east and south-west housing, with a touch of something more northener ( but don't tell the citizens; it's a sure way to be frowned upon ) ... After all they worked hard to keep Champignac as it is!
People living in Champignac are quite glad of it. Sure, teenagers dream of foreign lands, but they are not too eager to leave.
Tumblr media
Once, the townies of Champignac were grumpy because Champs-les-Sims was so more popular than their hometown ... After all, everybody went to Champs-les-Sims, stayed there, made nectar, drove a Kenspa, flirted with locals, or … anyway! Tourists had a full experience in Champs-Les-Sims and weren't interested in visiting any other city. Champignac, the official twin city, didn't benefit from any international exchanges, and was left anonymous, far from fame and glory. As unreachable as the Eiffel Tower seen from Champignac ... until ...
In February 29th of a certain year, a distant descendant of Marquis de Landgraab lost his way on the road to Champs-les-Sims and landed in Champignac. Instantly, he fell in love with the town.
He saw an always growing vegetation, a Monastery full of secrets, the familial beach ( yes, there is a beach in Champignac ), the forgotten obelisk, the shop keepers full of stories, the well preserved houses, the green fields and the paved streets, the true Café Catane and a remaining wild fauna running here and there ... He saw perfection !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a time, the townies of Champignac experienced fame and glory. But how exhausting it was! Tourists not really caring about the legacy of the kiosk owner, the monks overwhelmed, the museum director who couldn't find enough teenagers to help ... Even the fishes were exhausted! Hard times indeed ... Happily, this descendant of Marquis de Landgraab met someone, somewhere, and moved out, far far away from Champignac. Celebrities said their last goodbyes and slowly, life, as it should be, was back :) The townies and City Council learned from that experience that they very much preferred not to be as famous as Champs-les-Sims ...
Life in Champignac was relatively calm again when suddenly, a global health crisis emerged and the Simvid-18 pandemic hit many many people ... Anxiety swept through the villages and the small towns, including Champignac of course ... With an aging population, residents became increasingly concerned about the well-being of their neighbors and the future of the city.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shop owners and farmers who were already considering retirement were now faced with the daunting task of deciding whether to continue their businesses in such uncertain times. The entire world seemed to come to a halt, leaving everyone in Champignac wondering who would carry the torch and ensure the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Surprisingly, the youngsters that only came sporadically for holidays, moved back to Champignac. Fearful of living in a crowded city and eager to gather with family members, they came to the old town with friends. After all, there were spare bedrooms in most houses!
Tumblr media
When the restrictions were lifted, many were reluctant to leave. Going back to a stressful life and fast-paced city wasn't enticing anymore. Most decided to turn their lives around. They took up the florist shop or asked for a job transfer ... So, life emerged again :) Champignac is now a thriving town where you have everything you wish for and nothing more.
Champignac is blessed with old churches turned into bars or wineries, old palazzi that are inspiring, and small boutiques as gathering places ...
Tumblr media
Winters and autumns are short, while spring and summer are long. Come and live among thousands of old buildings, walk on streets Roman soldiers once trod upon, see treasures from foreign campaigns, and benefit from the perfect blend of country living and town living.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember ... With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Champignac offers the Sims a captivating and enriching experience. From the stunning architecture to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of this town reflects the South of France’s intoxicating charm.
Are you ready to move in Champignac ?

Saturday May 4th Montpellier
Spring reverted to winter this morning in Paris - cold, windy and wet, the clouds almost touching the roof tops. I ate everything on the breakfast tray, downed 2 cups of hot chocolate and went to the train station in a raincoat, scarf, hat and warm jumper.
TGV crossed France north to south in 3.5 hours. We went through broad flat acres of green grain crops, hilly green pastures dotted with white cows and sheep, through the vineyards of the Beaujolais, out into the valley of the Saone. Farmsteads and villages gave way to towns and industry as the valley widened. Travelling south, clouds and rain disappeared. There was one stop in Nimes, then Montpellier, sunny but a really strong, cold wind blowing, whipping up dust and leaves and making it unpleasant walking around.
I loved Montpellier before I got there but slowly fell out of love as things started to go wrong and the cold windy weather intensified.
I checked in early at my Aparthotel then back to the station to buy a ticket to Carcassonne for tomorrow. However, the line between Montpellier and Carcassonne was closed till Wednesday because of urgent work on the track. When I asked about alternative transport I was told to come back Wednesday and there’d be a train. No, no replacement bus service.
The hotel receptionist suggested I try the TaM office for a bus but the man I saw was frankly rude and I went to the Tourist Information Office near Place de la Comedie where a woman was very helpful, telling me to go back to my hotel quickly and book one of two tickets left on an indirect Flixbus. Two direct buses were already sold out.
Apart from the railway line being closed, two other things conspired to make life a little difficult: the first was my European sim which didn’t activate when it was supposed to and the second was les gilets jaune doing their thing.
When I arrived in Montpellier police, carrying Star War weapons and shields, lined the outside of the station. My hotel was in Rue de la Republique, 50 metres from the front of the station. Only the police were there when I arrived but later when I was diving from the station, to the hotel, to the TaM office, to the tourist office - the Gilets Jaunes came marching down Rue de la Republique, chanting, letting off fireworks, looking aggressive - hundreds of them. As they move forward, the trams stop and businesses shut their doors. When they were about 30 metres away, I was taking photos but slipped in through the hotel door just before the receptionist closed and locked it. Les Gilets Jaunes, I was told, attack businesses that carry on as usual when they’re on the march.
This was not how I thought my afternoon in lovely Montpellier would unfold. By Saturday night I was a bit frazzled and the weather was getting worse so I bought food in a supermarket and cooked in the kitchenette at the Aparthotel.

CHAMPIGNAC World ( aka Sims de Nimes ) is coming in few days ;)
If we put the fantastic gameplay apart, ALL Sims 3 Worlds are about AMBIANCE ... and good Sims 3 Worlds are more about ambiance than everything else ;) It's a quest which doesn't end :D
Champignac ( codename : Sims de Nimes ) is a project we began a long ago ( 2018 ) and left rest in a corner of our CAW files. Paused, but never forgotten. Frankly, it was long due and time to finish.
Champignac is a French true suburbia living world based on Champs-les-Sims but cleaned up of its vacation stuff ... So you will get everything of a Maxis standard World ( the ice cream truck, the university guy ) and of course the ability to go to every vacation world ( including Champs-les-Sims )
We redid almost everything : the grass textures, the pavement and road textures, etc ... We added richness to this world with singular and very interesting stuff ...
80 lots are available. Both community and residential. We redid the native lots almost from the ground and used them for something else, except Place des Oliviers which kept its initial function and placement.
We used Votenga @ MTS who converted many things from Sims Medieval such as old castle tower we used a lot or the fantastic St Gall Monastery from efolger997 @ MTS we transformed a bit to get an incredible Winery lot ( yes, there is a Winery ... gosh, this is France after all ) ;)
We used lots from Sims 3 creators and we made many others with great care and as low as possible cheating build options ... We are not bold at Sims houses creation but we tried to make as diverse as possible in our constructions, but always staying in the guide of specific South of France style and design. Anyway, this will be to you to add your own vision and architectural art to Champignac ! ;)
ALL 80 lots are French flavored ( red terracotta roofs, white stone ) to get a unique style for a unique world :)
Nestled in the heart of the charming South of France, Champignac is a town adorned with the alluring flair of Mediterranean culture. As the Sims step into this picturesque town, they are immediately enveloped by the warmth of the sun, and the vibrant colors that paint the streets ...
No false antic stuff here. No false image from the 60's ... It is a fully contemporary world but with its own old stuff. Champignac boasts a unique blend of history and modernity all together :)
The ambiance is one of relaxation and leisure, inspired by the leisurely lifestyle of the South of France. Here, residents take the time to savor the pleasures of life, indulging in delicious cuisine, delightful conversations under the shade of trees. The town's bustling markets offer an array of fresh produce, colorful fabrics, enticing the Sims to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere.
With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Champignac offers the Sims a captivating and enriching experience. From the stunning architecture to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of this town reflects the South of France's intoxicating charm.
Many more details to come with the coming download post ...
So ... Stay tuned ;) ( and always safe )

CHAMPIGNAC ... FEW LAST DETAILS :)
And of course, we have some mistakes in the links and in the cc content we are currently correcting ... What is a good Sims 3 World without a little headache ? :D And because we love difficulties, we are currently updating our own website ( which is a mess ) ... What else ? Nothing, everything is fine under the sun of this hot summer :D
The General Hospital is a Maxis one, but from Riverview. @nornities ( thanks A LOT for his/her patience to check Champignac ) pointed to us different things : missing mostly. so, somes of you may not see the Hospital ( Hopital des Bleuets ) in their game.
Bad links are currently corrected and both CC sims3packs folder and CC packages folder updated to include few missing stuff, including the Fresco Market items and the Skylight Studio roof elements we used + the Riverview Hospital :) HERE
The Open Swimming pool ( Champignac Bains Romains ) has lost its border texture ... don't worry : just replace with a one you like :)
The School is not the good one : too many missing stuff there, so we are currently uploading a new Champignac save game which should correct the little mistakes here and there HERE

We have carefully furnished all the houses of Champignac to avoid half empty houses when visiting your Sims friends in town but not too much to avoid useless weight ;)
Do you know the origin of the name Champignac ?
We'll ... Champignac is a village from Spirou & Fantasio which is one of the most popular classic Franco-Belgian comics. The series, which has been running since 1938, shares many characteristics with other European humorous adventure comics like The Adventures of Tintin and Asterix. It has been written and drawn by a succession of artists ... Spirou and Fantasio are the series' main characters, two adventurous journalists who run into fantastic adventures, aided by Spirou's pet squirrel Spip, the Marsipulami, and their inventor friend the Count of Champignac ... :D

Once again, sorry for the inconvenient. All files should be ok now, and oh ! one last detail ... Have Fun ! \o/

Before the upload of Champignac, let's talk about the CC used in the World ...
Let's face it, there is a little bit more CC used in Champignac than in our other Sims 3 Worlds, because we really wanted to create a French ambiance for a French flavored world :)
Don't worry : except 2 or 3 things, we still use the same creators stuff aka mainly ATS ( Around the Sims 3 ) and Cyclone Sue ( from TSR ) for the build part. And of course, our own stuff which is not huge :D like our Rabbit Holes you may find here on Tumblr ...
Tumblr media
Before any further, the fantastic towers you need to get in order to fully enjoy Champignac come from MTS ( Mod the Sims ) and have been converted from The Sims Medieval by Votenga ( MEDIEVAL TOWERS & BUILDINGS ) you may find there :)

CHAMPIGNAC CC ADDENDUM FILES PART 2
Yesterday, we talked about CC, mainly ATS, Votenga Medieval stuff and some lots creations : all those fantastic things which give relief and vibrance to a Sims 3 World :)
Today, let's talk about ANTS ... Absolute Necessary Things and Stuff to fully enjoy Champignac, beginning with Cyclone Sue Build Stuff ...
They are not numerous but ESSENTIAL to all our Worlds : Lost Cove - Oaksoak Hollow - Eureka Valley and now, Champignac ;)
Set Scaffolding, Truss and Steel Girders (Columns)
Set Porta-Potty portable toilets
Set Barbed and Chickenwire Fences
Set Alpine Roofline 45-degree Windows
Set Useful Walls
Alcatraz door + Alcatraz window
Metal Lattice Sliding Door
Still, from TSR, there is the Linea Natura Arch by BuffSum
In addition, don't forget the beautiful himalayan poppy field by @nilxis ( by Let's Lolalule Things )
And that's all for our ANTS build stuff :D
As You can see in the first picture above, no more problem with the alpha of the trees in the distant terrain \o/
We used a small override file : Smaller Eiffel Tower by Qahne @ MTS which creates 2 advantages, a smaller Eiffel Tower and the fix for the broken alpha settings of trees in distant terrain.
We discovered too on a NRAAS thread another cool modding file : ScooterOverride by Consort which brings teens to drive only scooters ... I mean the mythic Kenspa !
Tumblr media
When a vacation world such as Champs les Sims becomes a fully suburbia world, it loses the Kenspa as main vehicle of the town. So we tried to minimize as much as possible this side effect and we added different Kenspa in our files. Of course, you may keep or not this choice ;) Up to you !
Now, there are other essential files we used ... such as : the Romanesque Connecting Column Arches Set by TheJim07 @ MTS we used in different locations of Champignac and bring A LOT to get really cool ambiant places.
Tumblr media
Related to the Store stuff, we do not use much and anyway, you don't have to worry about, we'll provide a folder with the necessary files. Clean and updated. Except for the Al Fresco Market.
By the way, we'll update very soon every CC folder we provide on our website for each of our S3 Worlds : all cleaned and updated too.
To finish with this post, let us show you one of the biggest community lot of Champignac : Le Monastère which is too the Winery of the town ( of course there is a Winery ) ;)
Tumblr media
This is a Sims Republic 2015 creation we modified a bit inside to suit Champignac ...
That's all folks ... for the moment. We are aware this kind of post is not as popular as the ones with a download link ... But that's wrong. Creating a world with a unique ambiance is only possible because of all these creations and creators. Maybe as Sims 3 players you already knows this stuff and so, not so interested to see it, again ... but wait and see, we tried very much to organize all those files with love and harmony ...

A NEW SIMS 3 WORLD : SIMS DE NIMES ( soon )
Hello :)
Some news updates ... We are currently working on 3 different Sims 3 worlds
- an update of Oaksoak Hollow ( code name : oaksoak2023 ) - a misty northern world : Shetland Harbour ( no code name :D )
- Sims de Nimes ( code name : champignac ), the first which will be released in few weeks ...
It is entirely based on Champs les Sims from World Adventures but it will be FULLY playable, with all community lots needed and nothing related to World Adventures ...
We currently rework each lot to be a true living French world and we are adding both community lots and houses in the architectural style and spirit of the city based in South of France :)
So, we redo EVERYTHING of course, such as terrains and roads and today we post some sneaky pics ;)
from up to bottom :

We already made many more lots we are currently testing and so on ;)
We have too, updated our website page, our Sims wallpapers which are visible here and available in a zip file to download in the next hours ...
Thats all for now I think ... Love you ... Be safe and happy :)

Hello
I’m sorry but Sims de Nîmes is not yet available … it’s a long time project ! We have only 3 worlds you can play with : lost cove, oaksoak hollow and eureka valley :)
