In certain bits of D&D lore, Asmodeus created a fake persona and overthrew himself in order to mess with people. Also in certain bits of D&D lore, Asmodeus himself is a fake persona, created by something much bigger and more deadly and more dangerous.

Asmodeus has a daughter, Glasya. Meaning either Asmodeus is real… or Glasya is fake too.

Asmodeus isn’t the only Devil who has faked his own overthrow. Mephistopheles did it too.

What if it’s bigger? What if it’s bigger than anyone realizes? Even the gods? What if Hell itself is a fiction?

What if there are no devils? What if the internecine conflict between the “Archdevils” is a carefully-designed ruse to throw off observers?

What if damned souls don’t become devils—they are simply consumed, and a fake “devil” is created to appear as though they weren’t? What if Fallen Angels are consumed as well, with fake “devils” representing them?

What if every single being in Hell is an illusion cast by Ahriman?

Nanghaithya

Element: Earth

Original species: Quarem

Special ability: Mind control

The quarem uses song to snare their prey and eat them. Nanghaithya is of the ascended class of the kind who has evolved the skill so that he can control others with normal spoken words. For that reason he had to wear a sealing cloth on his mouth, to prevent him from using his powers.

Quarem are, typically, immune to the mind control abilities of their fellow kind, and more perceptive of other methods of hypnotism.

I can't believe I forgot to post this here. Or, if I did, I tagged it incorrectly because I can't find it. Was going to make a full set of "encyclopaedia profiles" for 'em, but I got sidetracked while doing Zarich and never finished.

Because of Elini's summon animations, I always headcanon the daeva as being associated to a specific element. How it works has been evolving in my head over time, but currently they are "elemental guardians" who are each assigned to one element. They individually have other spell abilities based on whatever demon species they are.

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good December! These were my contributions to the @welcomehomefanzine winter zine! I managed to do more art this time too! For my contributions I wanted to draw art on various Winter traditions from different cultures, such as also my own! If you decide to colour in any of these, please @ me!!

Also keep in mind, we are not affiliated with Clown or the team behind WH, we are just fans who love the work!!

I wrote more on all the artworks under the cut! Including the traditions they were based on!

First one was a little visual pun on the first verse of '12 Days of Christmas', Poppy is the partridge in the pear tree! Not much to say about this one, it's my only Christmas related thing! Second one was based on the Southern Welsh winter tradition of the Mari Lwyd. The Mari Lwyd is a hobby horse made from a horse's skull and is then decorated. It is puppeteered to go to the doors of various houses where its handlers will sing verses on letting it in to the home, you are supposed to sing back excuses on why you can't let it in, and if you relent, you invite the Mari Lwyd and its handlers in your home, where it will eat your food and alcohol and terrorise your children! The tradition and its true origins and meaning and even etymology is unknown, but it's thought to have ancient Pagan roots! It seems here, Eddie relented in his songs to it and regretted everything immediately after!

Third image is another Poppy centric piece because I love her. Here she is dressed up as a figure from Schnabelperchten! This is a tradition seen only in Rauris Valley in Austria and is a manifestation of Perchta, a goddess from Alpine Paganism that took the form of a old woman who'd punish misbehaving children by slitting their bellies. For Schnabelperchten, on the 5th of January, figures dressed in smocks, jackets, and a beak-like mask will visit various homes to check their upkeep and cleanliness all while emitting a soft 'ga ga ga', in more ancient versions of the legend, if you did not keep your living quarters in good enough conditions, the Schnabelperchten would slit open your belly and dump all the rubbish inside! Poppy would never do that though! No one tell her about that part!! Last but not least is one based on a tradition from my culture! Here you see the entire neighbourhood celebrating Yalda Night and spending time with one anotherThis is a Persian/Iranian festival with Zoroastrian roots held on the Winter Solstice. This day was traditionally seen as ill omened as being the darkest day of the year, the forces of Ahriman and his Deevs were most active, and so much of the day entailed family and friends getting together in good company. They would read stories and poems (especially the Shahnameh or poems by Hafez) with nuts and various fruits from previous harvests being served, watermelon and pomegranates being the most prominent! It was also encouraged to stay well up after midnight lest misfortune befall you! Due to it also being the longest night, it was also seen as the birthdate of the sun deity Mehr (or Mithra), as the subsequent days would get longer.

This was all fun to do and I hope I did all these traditons justice!! I am most likely missing out a lot on my explanations for them, so I hope I at least peaked your interest in these different Winter festivities enough to look into them on your own!

Concept design: Gameplay

[Intro & Setting]

When a user first opens the web page, the name The Great Crusade Café will appear. After clicking, you can start by naming the café owner, which is the role you will play.

Then, as the owner, you will be asked to choose the tasks you want to undertake in reality for today. The default name here is John.

The purpose of this web page is to provide users with a leisurely and comfortable café white noise. It allows you to enjoy such an atmosphere whether you are reading or translating WH novels. Additionally, café-themed white noise has been proven by studies to increase efficiency for people. Therefore, you can also use it while working or painting miniature models.

After setting a task, you can officially enter the management of the café within the game. Don't worry, you can change the current task being undertaken at any time, just below the time displayed in the top right corner. And if you feel that the display of time might make you anxious, you can also turn it off in the settings.

[Coffee System]

After today's business starts, you can choose to make a cup of coffee for yourself first. By clicking on the coffee cup under the coffee machine, you can make a cup of your favorite drink for yourself.

Recaff is precisely the coffee beverage commonly found in the "Siege of Terra" series of novels. And various other drinks also have their unique origins.

After deciding which type of coffee to make, we can choose options like the milk to use based on our personal preference.

This will result in a steaming hot cup of coffee.

After each cup of coffee is made, hovering the mouse over the coffee cup icon will start a 2-hour timer. However, after one hour, the steam on the coffee cup will disappear. And when the timer finally reaches zero, you will know that two hours have passed. Setting a 2-hour timer aligns with the time unit of the Pomodoro Technique. If you want to use the web page as an efficiency tool, you can make good use of this feature.

[Character Visiting]

After making a cup of coffee for yourself, naturally, various characters will be attracted to the café and its aroma. They usually greet you directly and place their orders. But sometimes, you will need to guess their preferences based on the characters' personalities. If you have read many related novels, you will have a unique advantage in this aspect.

For example, people from Caliban would drink black tea. Commanders stationed on Terra, on the other hand, prefer bitter coffee, among other things. Additionally, some special drink recipes need to be purchased or unlocked through gifts from characters.

After fulfilling the characters' needs, their Trust will increase.

Subsequently, they often spend some time in the café, and during this period, you can engage in conversation with them. As the Trust increases, the topics they bring up will also vary.

For instance, Loken might talk to you about Mr. Sindermann's lectures, while Argel Tal could bring up his friend Khârn. Ahriman might mention that the café was recommended to him by his human friend Gaumon.

This often unlocks more characters. After all, the café's reputation is always spread by word of mouth among friends.

And some rarer characters, I mean, like a Primarch, might require the trust of everyone in the legion.

After increasing trust levels, besides more conversations and characters, there will also be an important matter.

Once trust levels reach their peak, characters will give you a variety of gifts, including decorative items. For example, members of the Thousand Sons always like to give you various books, regardless of whether you can understand them or not.

But you can use some of them as decorations inside the café.

This can sometimes be key to unlocking rare characters. Of course, you can also purchase various decorations and drink recipes at any time from the itinerant merchant in the upper left corner of the screen.

And if you complete the current task setting and change the task, most of the characters present will express encouragement and approval towards you.

[Bulletin Board & Character Book]

Each character stays for a different amount of time. Many of them are very busy with numerous affairs. However, you can find clues of their visits on the bulletin board.

Almost every customer who has visited the café leaves something behind on this bulletin board. For example, stickers, messages, or even advertisements.

Hovering the mouse over specific items will display detailed explanations and descriptions.

You can also find information about the visitors in the customer notes, where all guest information is recorded.

However, characters that have not yet been unlocked will be displayed as "unsigned".

[Weather System]

Additionally, some sufficiently important characters, if they are very satisfied with your café, they will grant you access rights.

This privilege allows you to open cafés in different areas, such as on battleships, Terra, the Hive cities, and various other places.

As time passes, the ambient light in the café will also change.

This also means that some special characters will only be unlocked at specific times. If you go from noon to night, you can see the nighttime view of the Hive city outside the window. As time progresses from afternoon to night, you can see the nighttime view of the Hive city from the window. And when midnight arrives, the starry sea above the deck will leave you in awe. In the central area of Terra, mornings always face the unchanging snowy mountains.

[Vinyl Records Player]

While running the café, you can always spin your vinyl records. This allows you to change the background music and even import your own favorite tracks. If you don't like the ambient chatter or the sounds of the coffee machine and cups, you can also turn them off here.

The above is a brief instruction for using "The Great Crusade Café".

The project is a purely conceptual design. As Games Workshop does not allow fanart creators to engage in programming or development. It is currently only presented in this form to everyone. It's worth mentioning that this design was inspired by a series of excellent projects, including VA-11 Hall-A, Coffee Talk, I Miss My Cafe, and Neko Atsume, etc. That's also why I chose to use a pixel art style in the project.

At the same time, I'd like to thank the pixel art artists who collaborated with me. Without you, this demo video wouldn't have been possible.

Zurvan Akarana Talon Abraxas

A Circle of Eternal Life Zurvan is the Persian god of infinite time, space and fate. The deity is traditionally represented as being nameless (the name Zurvan being an appellative title), without gender and passions, and neutral in regard to good and evil. However, in certain strains of Zoroastrianism, Zurvan is also the father of the good deity, Ahura Mazda, and the evil deity, Angra Mainyu, also known as Ahriman.

Zurvan is mentioned in the Origins of Alchemy Shamanic & Esoteric. It speaks of early alchemists Zosimus and Isis and of course go back to Sumerian gods and myths. "Zurvan is linked with Babylonian astrology. In Zurvan the opposites are contained. The spiritual embodiment for this reconciliation of opposites was embraced by Greek and Indian thought as well." He eventually was known as Cronos which goes to the Keeper of Time.

Yes, Gigi Young is literally just another conspiracy theorist.

Since I have this anon who's upset that I made a post awhile back criticizing some shit Gigi Young said, I figured I'd pop into her YouTube channel and see what she's doing these days.

I watched the video titled "The Occult Purpose of War & Satanic Super Technologies," which was uploaded in November of 2023, as well as the video titled The Esoteric Keys To Disclosure: 10.It's a Genetic Modification Cult, which was published back in September of 2023. So just to be clear, these are fairly new videos. This is basically what she believes and teaches right now, as of the time I am making this post. (December of 2023.)

Before I go into what she specifically says, I'm going to say right now that a lot of the stuff she's saying is basically the same stuff pushed by Fritz Springmeier, a far right conspiracy theorist with a history of extremely shady behavior and an undeniable mancrush on Dr. Joseph Mengele. (The guy really liked to talk about how handsome and irresistible this professional Nazi torturer supposedly was. I still feel queasy at the memory of reading what Springmeier said about him.)

Springmeier's work was influenced by the likes of Edith Starr Miller and Alexander Hislop. Edith Starr Miller was into all that Protocols stuff, and basically attacked anything that didn't conform to her ideals of what true Christianity was, claiming it was part of the Evil Conspiracy. Alexander Hislop was the Protestant dude who pulled a bunch of shit out of his ass about Roman Catholicism secretly being the continuation of an ancient Babylonian mystery cult.

Springmeier basically claimed that the world was under the control of thirteen Satanic bloodlines. In terms of what the conspiracy was supposedly up to, it was all a blend of the antisemitic hoax The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion with early modern witch panic and blood libel. He modernized it, of course. Springmeier claimed that the conspirators were experimenting with the creation of human/animal hybrids and developing advanced mind control technology.

It does not actually matter whether or not Gigi Young personally considers herself part of the far right in any sense. What matters - literally all that matters - is that she is spreading their beliefs and their rhetoric.

The impact and devastation is the same regardless of what Gigi Young personally considers herself.

She could hang a trans flag on her wall, wear an "I ❤️ Communism" shirt, spit on Hitler's picture in front of the camera, and it would not make a single iota of difference.

So in The Occult Purpose of War & Satanic Super Technologies, Gigi Young essentially proposes that a reason for Israel's assault on Gaza is that the satanic families supposedly controlling the world want to start World War III, for the purpose of conducting a massive blood ritual to summon the Antichrist. Here's a direct quote:

I absolutely think that they want to create World War III. World War III needs to happen for there to be enough blood in the soul for Ahriman to incarnate or for the Antichrist to incarnate. There needs to be a global war for the Antichrist to come into being.

The idea that there is a satanic cult that wants to bring about the rule of the Antichrist is basically the Christofascist conspiracy theory. The blood ritual element is another permutation of blood libel.

Young goes on to say that she believes that there's a faction within the dark elite that view nuclear bombs not as a weapon, but as an occult ritual.

She also makes indirect reference to the conspiracy theory that CERN was meant to open a portal to hell by claiming that particle accelerators tear a hole in the veil that allows demons to come through.

She repeats other common far right conspiracy theories, including the one where the conspiracy supposedly has Babylonian origins and practices dark rituals for the purpose of mind control over the populace, and that the conspiracy is genetically modifying plants and people for evil conspiracy reasons.

She also referred to elemental beings as "subhuman," which is a eugenicist term - literally a translation of untermensch. The fact that Young uses this word tells you something about the ideological bent among whatever people and literature influenced her beliefs.

In her video titled "The Esoteric Keys To Disclosure: 10.It's a Genetic Modification Cult," she talks more about this alleged satanic conspiracy. She claims that the conspiracy was told by demons and fallen angels that they were descended from alien gods, and that the conspiracy is all about genetic modification in order to become gods themselves.

So first of all, claiming that beliefs you disagree with came from demons and fallen angels is a move right out of the Christofascists' playbook. Normal people just accept and admit that people just come up with shitty ideas sometimes.

Secondly, Young's objection to the idea of alien ancestry and alien genetic modification in this video are very clearly part of her broader antivax and anti-GMO views. She believes that GMO foods are the work of the conspiracy, and that vaccinations were created by the conspiracy to modify people's genetics. She's literally an antivaxxer, y'all.

And like. The way to handle these conspiratorial alien origin myths isn't to reframe them in a slightly different conspiracy theory. The way to handle it is challenging and destroying the conspiracy theory altogether. It literally makes no different whether Young believes humanity is descended from aliens or not, so long as she's pushing this kind of conspiracy narrative.

Her views on GMOs and such this are pretty obviously informed by an attitude that natural = pure = good. What she's trying to pass off as anti-eugenics is actually a kind of belief in genetic purity, which is itself a form of eugenics.

She even claims that the downfall of Atlantis was caused by genetically modifying organisms. She claims that genetic modification actually "degenerates" the form. (For someone who claims to hate Nazis so much, she sure does use their language.)

She apparently believes that the conspiracy has a depopulation agenda. This one's been circulating far right conspiracy theory circles for decades.

She makes some bizarre claims about New Age alien beliefs. She tries to pin the whole thing on Scientology, which she claims was Nazi esotericism. While it's true that Scientology and New Age alien beliefs are similar, the latter were developing well before Scientology was a thing. Scientology, rather, was influenced by the ideas of its time. And while it's true that Nazi ideas have influenced New Age beliefs, Gigi Young cannot actually point to any specific cases; instead, she acts like the entire thing is ultimately a Nazi conspiracy, which is bullshit.

She also acts like New Age spirituality is extremely materially reductive. While I do think that New Age spirituality can be somewhat materially reductive, it's nowhere near to the degree that Gigi Young is describing. She seems to think that New Age ideas will somehow lead to people accepting DNA modification through vaccinations, which is just bizarre given how New Age is also rife with antivax conspiracism.

Her radfemmy gender essentialist shit comes back when she blames the world's condition on the overgrown and distorted male impulse that wants to control the feminine and take over creation, and says that if you're creating something in a petri dish, you're not allowing the holy womb of the woman to create life, which is what it's for.

So yeah, no, Gigi Young is not better than these New Age conspiracy theorists out there, not even a little bit. She's every bit as bad. Don't be fooled by the fact that she's dunking on people you hate; she's still pushing the same kind of conspiracy crap they believe in.

This imagine series takes place 200 years after the events of Baldur’s Gate 3. Everything you read in here is a story from my mind outside of the original BG3 character Astarion.

In this imagine series, Astarion is a bit more unemotionally unavailable, and this series will follow the decisions and consequences of that change. This is not canonically accepted and it is just an idea I’ve had in my head! (I do believe Astarion might truly care for the reader after Ascension, but that is open to individual interpretation.)

In this series, TAV is mildly based on my first character I played in BG3; she is a drow and I will make references to her in her background and knowledge as well. I do apologize that it is not 100% your own imagine, but the name for TAV is up to you as well as anything else that I can think of leaving to you, the reader, to decide.

Astarion POV

I watched as she pulled her hand gently out of my grasp and pulled a bottle from her satchel, then bit her bottom lip between her fanged teeth for a split second.

“This is the antidote for the charming wine they’ve been giving you. I don’t have much other than this one bottle because there wasn’t much of your blood left in the vial.” She reached into the bag again and pulled out a vial with a small amount of thick red liquid sloshing slightly within the glass. I stared at the drow in front of me with amazement, which she returned with a look of confusion. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Her question was hushed and spoke with a tone of embarrassment in her words. My hand raised itself to gently caress her face; the drow’s eyes filled with clear liquid that poured slowly over as she leaned into my touch but never broke eye contact with me.

“You still continue to amaze me.” The words rolled off of my tongue as I stood in front of the drow who has loved me despite every thing I have put her through. Looking at the bottle of antidote in her hand, I knew that the vulnerable spawn years ago had placed his trust in the right person when he held that dagger to her throat. “How long should the antidote work?”

“I believe the wine only stays in your system for about a couple of days or so from what I could gather in the short amount of time studying the concoction. The antidote should work about the same.” Her honeyed voice filled my chest with joy as I wrapped my hands around hers.

“Will the antidote still work if I consume the wine after drinking the antidote, or does it work like antivenom?” Her eyes scrunched with thought before she shook her head.

“It works like an antivemon--you need to ingest the venom first before you can use antivenom.” My head nodded in understanding before I stepped closer to the drow, placing myself between her legs. Her eyes darted every so slightly as she studied my face, searching for something unknown to me. “You’re in danger though, and I’m afraid we don’t have much time to prepare for what is to come. Ahriman is set on killing you for revenge on his daughter’s death. Is there something you need to tell me?”

“Perhaps during my time under the grimy thumb of Cazador, but I have not done such behaviors since you helped me ascend, my treasure.” Her eyes gave me a knowing look as she sighed heavily.

“I forget that people have no idea all of the shit you had to deal with so many centuries ago.” A smile found its way to my lips as she spoke. This woman had a true heart of gold, and I most definitely did not deserve to have the hold on it that I had. Sadness crept its way into my heart as I reflected on the feelings of loneliness and sadness I experienced during the whirlwind of memories (TAV’s name) shared with me moments ago.

I felt all of those feelings during my enslavement by Cazador, yet (TAV’s name) held on hope that I truly loved her. The thought must’ve made a frown come to my face because the drow in front of me caressed my face with a loving hand.

“I know that look. You need not to worry about the past, my love.” (TAV’s name) gave me a breathtaking smile, but she reminded me of another emotion she had unknowingly shared with me: her hunger.

“When was the last time you fed, my darling?” I asked in a low voice, which caused surprise to flash on the drow’s face for a brief moment before her face twisted to a look of embarrassment. If she had still be living, I know her ash blue cheeks would’ve turned to an ash purple.

“I may not have fed since you tasked me with finding the blood thief.” She bit her lip before she sheepishly replied to my question, and my eyes widened with surprise. It may have been a couple of centuries since I was a spawn, but I do remember the hunger pains vividly. For a brief moment, I thought about fussing at her, but another devilish thought crossed my mind.

She deserves a reward--especially after all the shit she’s put up with for the last century. Grasping her hands firmly, I pulled her to stand on her feet. Confusion etched into the drow’s perfectly sculpted brows, but she obeyed nonetheless as I led her inside my bedchambers.

“Go start you a warm bath, my dearest treasure.” I didn’t look at her as I walked to the doors and locked them. I didn’t want that damn fae to interrupt us and ruin the sweet reward that my treasure had no idea she was about to receive.

Another one of my mini projects. I decided to draw cards for vtm clans. Not all of course, but almost? I plan 20 in total. Here is first one.

The Ahrimanes are a rare, all-female bloodline of Kindred that originally existed during the Dark Ages, headed by a woman called Ádísa. Sometime during the Long Night, Ádísa and her bloodline were lost and subsumed into Clan Gangrel. Centuries later, the bloodline was unknowingly resurrected by a woman called Muricia. Since then, the Ahrimanes roam the night again, albeit under a different guise and leader.

This time they're facing a bigger, yet familiar threat: Ahriman. He's another original character I introduced this year. A threat to humankind and all things good. The Abyssal, Morana, before and after imprisonment.

I used this opportunity to also tweak Morana’s original look (the before) a bit—in regards to her veil and ‘crown’. The original had my attempt at a liquid gold, floating ‘crown’, but decided a shadow one would suit her better. Because, you know…😅😅😅

So, before she used to freely show off skin—but after imprisonment she wanted to cover-up because of her horrible scars from the chains, but left her chest open to display both the scar on her chest (as a metaphor for her wounded heart) and the missing sunstone she used to wear religiously.

Her hair grew ridiculously long, and she hardly takes care of it now (often just leaving it down to drag across the ground), but don’t worry—I’m sure a certain red-head will attempt to fix that 😉

She still loves Sol, but is too angry and bitter to fully acknowledge it; and now she makes a point to try and avoid sunlight as much as possible, often traveling in the shadows or at night with the moon and starts covered by clouds.

She has 3 kids with Sol, who’re in the process of being created:

Deirdre: God of Funeral Rites and Melancholic Thoughts

Lorelei: Goddess of Decay and Sentimental Feelings

Ahriman: God of Fallen Warriors and Disaster

I wanted them to have some blended forms of both Life and Death in their Titles/powers.

D: has more emphasis on death and the feelings that usually come after the passing of a loved one.

L: associated with fungi and the process in decay, helping new life to come afterwards—along with the feeling of thoughts/objects/people that bring good (or bittersweet) thoughts/memories from the past (to either sooth or not).

A: the twins hate him—because he follows them from battlefield to battlefield, reminding them of his mother. Associated with those who died in battle, and the disaster that often follows War and bloody battles; he represents the Grim reminder of the cost of war, of what was sacrificed to achieve victory.
