About the Little Mermaid teaser trailer.

I loved the mermaid tail, I love the way she swam, I loved her voice.

I wished her hair was a brighter color. I don't know if it was because she was underwater or that's the way it will look through the movie.

I hated the f***ing lighting. I know it's underwater, but it's an adaptation of a movie where the underwater scenario was brightly colored

I’m so incredibly sad to see some of the horrible shit people have written about Halle Bailey and the new Little Mermaid trailer, it’s so disheartening. Ariel has been my favorite character since I was little, I’ve been excited to see her story shown on the big screen again! But I'm so afraid to like this movie because of a lot of people’s reaction to it.

I don’t care that the actress playing Ariel is black, I don’t care that they are adding new songs, I want to see the movie regardless, no matter what small changes they’ve made because at the end of the day, I love The Little Mermaid’s story! I never cared what Ariel looked like in the original Disney movie, I liked her because she was hard-headed, sassy, a hopeless romantic, and had a fantastic singing voice! I related to her in a lot of ways because I also had a strict father and felt out of place in the world. Plus mermaids have always been my favorite mythical creature! 

I’ve seen so many rude, mean-spirited, and hateful comments about the actress and the movie and it makes me hesitant to be excited...I just want to see the movie I’ve loved forever in a new way. I know this turned into a rant but I wish people would give it a chance, or if they’re not willing to do that, keep their negative thoughts to themselves...

I watch the new teaser for the live action Little Mermaid, see Ariel playing with the pink jellyfish, and I can’t help but get deja vu and wonder if Marlin and Dory are close by.

I don’t care how you feel about Disney -- when The Little Mermaid is released: you need to go see it in theaters. You need to stream the music and right now, you need to go support the teaser trailer by liking it and leaving positive comments and even more so when the official trailer is released. Report any hate you see and keep it moving. Don’t engage with the racists. Just support. Show up and show out when the film is released.
