remember how we thought black widow (2021) was going to be the darkest mcu movie, but then after the really well-done opening credits montage, the movie stopped being dark, and then two years later, a silly little Guardians of the Galaxy movie ended up being the movie where every person I’ve talked to said that they were deeply upset by it and they cried 6 times and that it was the most beautiful marvel movie in years and 100% the darkest movie that the mcu has ever made and was surprisingly gory and had the mcu’s first f-bomb and i even openly wept in a movie theater for the first time since avengers: endgame and there were points where i could just hear everyone crying and

Something about Rocket using gravity to his advantage in each gotg movie (the Kyln escape, his traps for the Ravagers, his boots). Something about how he invents his own unique and external methods of affecting it. Something about how his abuser saw gravity as something to control utterly and completely with his own body. Something about how Rocket’s gravity boots he made for his family turned the tables on his creator’s and let him destroy gravity implants he used to threaten and harm his creations. Something about how gravity is what brings things together, something about how Rocket was drawn into a found family through his own gravity, something about a love so dense and so inescapable the guardians couldn't help but save him. Something about gravity.

The actor who played the High Evolutionary does NOT get enough credit, he did such a heinous villain so fucking well.
Like who cares about the 49th milquetoast MCU villain with Good Intentions™️ who took a step Too Far™️ and killed babies for their agenda...but I have never felt more alive than when the High Evolutionary was on screen. He was vile, he was hateful, he was pure evil and I despised him every minute he was on screen

Can we all agree that Disney's 100th year was at least a good one for SUPER EVIL VILLAINS in their stuff?

Hey there everyone, just saw, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” for the second time, this evening… and I can proudly say, without a doubt in my mind, that this was the MCU’s greatest triumph. I have a bit of a bias though, because the Guardians have been my favorite MCU characters since their first movie debuted in 2014. That movie really struck a chord with me, and is probably the single most important piece of media in the shaping of who I am today. Right down to my sense of humor and my taste in music. I’m also biased because Rocket has been my favorite MCU character since Vol. 2 came out in 2017. Going on this journey, his journey… was truly special. I won’t say too much, I do not want to spoil this movie for anyone.
It’s a fun film, but it’s a heartbreaking, sometimes hard to watch story. But god it has heart. If you’ve seen it, feel free to hit my inbox and talk to me about it. I cannot stop thinking about this movie.

A quick reminder that this is the innocent creature the High Evolutionary saw and decided to put through hell, experiment on, torn apart, and put back together over and over...

Yet more GotG Spoilers
I don't think I'll ever fully recover from the flashbacks in this movie. The opening sequence of 89P13 being selected. His first word being "Hurts". Lylla treating his wounds. Rocket learning what music is from the High Evolutionary, recontextualizing his love for Quill's songs from Earth. Rocket choosing his name with so much hope. Rocket's own intelligence being what caused his friends' deaths.
Floor crying "Rocket Teefs Floor Go Now" is burnt into my psyche, as is Lylla saying "Sky" and Rocket's unbridled SCREAM and what he did to his creator...
I'm still utterly shook.
