Every time I see some new lore or monster invented to inhabit The Backrooms or all these “found footage” videos of scientists examining the backrooms and running into the beasts inside it pains me to realize that they people really just decided to remake the SCP Foundation with a new set-dressing
The Backrooms was about the horror of isolation and being trapped in an endless labyrinth. Maybe something else is in there with you, but it’s much more horrifying to think about the fact that you’re really just alone.
Instead it’s now a monster amusement park. The horror of the unknown is now lost because everyone creates monsters and lore to make it known and ya’ll just REALLY remade the SCP Foundation with extra steps.
This is a blog of mainly aesthetics & sometimes info about all sorts of different entities, spirituality and otherworldly phenomena. My blog is a work in progress and I update almost daily!

Disclaimer: while I do believe in the paranormal I don’t encourage messing with it, obviously, and understand that some “information” may be incorrect or outdated (bc it’s from old 2000s websites) and there’s no sense in getting worked up over it as this blog is originally intended for fun ! And, once again, it’s for aesthetic. There is a time and place for super seriousness upon this subject, and it is not here. Pls just enjoy the silly gifs of aliens dancing, no one is suggesting trying to summon faeries lmao. Have a nice day ! 💚
As Wendy opens her eyes, a bright flashes in front of her. The brightness dims revealing the fluoresced lights at the ceiling. Upon standing up, Wendy finds herself in a room where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in. Little does she know, the poor girls just trapped herself inside....The Backrooms
New back rooms idea. The chain coffee shop you sit in next to your work because you got to work too early and now you gotta wait so you don’t seem to desperate.
Hey everyone, I just had an idea I would like to share, it’s a crossover over alternate universe with loveless biker boys by pela ( who is awesome by the way), the Mandela catalogue by Alex kister (who is also awesome) and the backrooms by Kane Parsons (awesome). Basically it’s like a alternate universe with the biker boys ( featuring @a21487246-duya’s oc Dusiao) but the Mc has to survive and try to get out of there before they get them.
They are basically humanoid entities with power.
Varai’s chances of killing you are low but never zero. (Just watch what you say and you will have a nice time at his tea party) probably the nicest one there.
Jatay with his half deformed face (think of twisted Alice from bendy and the ink machine) and his cool robotic arm won’t hesitate to beat your ass if you bug him too much. (Is pretty decent )
Jeff follows you through the shadows, screens, and mirrors. . . Giving advice and warnings . . . Treat everyone else right and he’ll treat you right, simple is it not?
Dusiao, just like Jeff he gives you advice and will treat you right if you treat everyone else right (don’t mention the abandoned orphanage on level four, which is on the corner of his level negative four)
Dice. . . He has his eyes on you( even his hair pin has an eye on you) sometimes you can see his and Dusiao’s eyes on the wall observing you. If the lights flicker red and dark purple with the alarms going off, go into hiding (it means he’s pissed off)
His teeth are too sharp. . . Enough to break down bones just like Jeff’s
Liminal spaces are comforting and I'm tired of pretending they're not
This popped into my mind because I recently watched The Backrooms series on YouTube (which you should definitely watch if you haven't yet).
I should also say the reason I like liminal spaces is because of my dog shidd mental health so you've been warned...
What are liminal spaces?
Liminal spaces are usually defined by timeless seemingly never ending spaces with 90's/2000's nostalgia, often transitional spaces like halls, shopping centres and streets, sometimes a lack of natural light, and most importantly a lack of people. Looking at liminal spaces, the feelings can be uncanny or nightmarish to some people but I and various others find it affirming, even comforting.
Why do I find them comforting?
Much if not all of my stress in life comes from people. People make noise, they make strong smells, they fight each other and at times take me as an easy target. My life spent in public places has never been a positive experience, I'm always on high alert thinking: "are they gonna move out the way" "is this man going to invade my personal space on the train" "please stop shouting" "don't follow me" "please leave me alone".
Going through life only ever visible as a target is stressful and on top of that the sensory environment of public places is incredibly draining and nothing ever stops.
I come away from them eyes glazed over, dissociating, physically weak and exhausted. In these moments I have recurring thoughts of "I can't keep up" "can things stop so I have a chance to catch up" "why doesn't anything stop?"
What liminal spaces provide for me is the opportunity to stop without any consequences.
It affirms the dreamy feelings I have when I start disassociating in public spaces and I can sit and take in my surrounding without any sensory overload, things are quiet and still for a change. Just clip out of reality, take a breather, and clip back in again when you're ready. There's no one there to make any noise or harass me or invade my personal space.
I'm finally alone. I can finally relax.
There's a sense of comfort in liminal spaces you'll never find in the real world and that's the comfort of being completely alone.
