While fighting with my adhd for the past two (and more) months, I've managed to make OC profiles/cards/sheets/whatever you call it, for my (almost) every original character that's gonna appear/or already had appeared in my gta vc fanfic series.
Here's a small glimpse at these without spoiling anything!
(It's half in polish, half in english by the way. I can't write in one language, I'm too far gone in the bilingual hell hole).
The photos you guys see in the screenshot are just for me and inspiration.
Researching things was one of the things I've spent time on doing. About police ranks in the USA, stuff about 80s, laws in Florida in that time to stay as close as possible to canon and actual facts. Men's and woman's fashion, basically any thing you could think of what a person not living in the USA would google. It was educational but also tiring at some point. I still have a trouble understanding police ranks, and 'cause of that I'm not sure what rank Matthew Arsen would be. I'm probably gonna search more or ask a few people on some groups.
I've decided that I also need to kinda rewrite or rather do a "remastered version" of the 1st part of the series. Some time ago I've mustered all my energy to reread it, and oh boy, I saw sooo many spelling mistakes, gramatical ones and just straight up plot holes and mistaking Matthew Arsen color hair for another character's one lmao. Imo it's bad and I'm gonna correct everything, probably writing more descriptions to some scenes, etc.
My English is muuuuch better now than it was when I was still in highschool. Plus, I have a better beta reader too.
Also, I think I'm gonna write some warm up oneshots before getting back to writing the 2nd part of the series. I still have some requests from anons on tumblr, plus my own ideas. We'll see how it goes.
This post is already too long, so, see ya! Don't be shy to ask or talk about gta stuff with me! I'm slow at responding on tumblr tho, just saying so no one thinks I'm ignoring my readers! <3 Love you all.

As a reminder that good exists out there, a coworker recently confessed to me that he found out his child is questioning their identity (kid's gender redacted for this post). The kid is keeping it from him, so he can't say anything to them or show that he knows, but he's doing his best to get mentally prepared and educated so that he'll be ready whenever his kid does feel comfortable enough come to him.
For context, this guy is a big, bulky middle aged dude who loves sports and typical outdoor "manly" activities. As his coworker and friend, I know he's a kind and sweet teddy bear of a person, but his kid probably views him as a stern, authoritarian figure, the way most teenagers view their parents. His family lives in a conservative area, so I'm sure between that, their dad's looks and interests, and the fact that their dad is a Figure of Authority, the kid is worried that they won't be accepted.
But you know what? When he found out about his kid, the first thing he did was reach out to his closest queer friend and ask for resources for parents of questioning children. His biggest fears are that his kid will be bullied or discriminated against and won't feel comfortable enough to be themself. His second action was to find himself a mentor in another parent who went the same situation (kid coming out in a conservative town). The other person is preparing him for some of the struggles his kid may face and the fights he may need to take on as a parent to make sure his kid is safe and treated well.
Something I want to emphasize for people focused on language as the primary method of allyship is that when we spoke, he used some outdated terms and thoughts about gender and sexuality. That does not make him bad. These were the terms and thinking used about questioning teenagers when he was growing up and he never needed to learn more current ones. But now that he does have that need, he's throwing himself in head first because that's his kid and he's darn well going to make sure that his kid feels welcomed and has a safe place to be themselves even if they never come out to him.

“When I first heard it, from a dog trainer who knew her behavioral science, it was a stunning moment. I remember where I was standing, what block of Brooklyn’s streets. It was like holding a piece of polished obsidian in the hand, feeling its weight and irreducibility. And its fathomless blackness. Punishment is reinforcing to the punisher. Of course. It fit the science, and it also fit the hidden memories stored in a deeply buried, rusty lockbox inside me. The people who walked down the street arbitrarily compressing their dogs’ tracheas, to which the poor beasts could only submit in uncomprehending misery; the parents who slapped their crying toddlers for the crime of being tired or hungry: These were not aberrantly malevolent villains. They were not doing what they did because they thought it was right, or even because it worked very well. They were simply caught in the same feedback loop in which all behavior is made. Their spasms of delivering small torments relieved their frustration and gave the impression of momentum toward a solution. Most potently, it immediately stopped the behavior. No matter that the effect probably won’t last: the reinforcer—the silence or the cessation of the annoyance—was exquisitely timed. Now. Boy does that feel good.”

shout out to when i told my dad about goncharov and he figured out it was fake because i told him "1973 martin scorsese film with robert de niro" and he said that wasn't possible because the godfather came out in 1972 and the godfather part II came out in 1974 and they wouldn't have had time to make a movie in between. a perfectly good jest, foiled by this man's weird and vast knowledge set

anyway in other news it is EXTREMELY funny of the life series cast to force us to talk about them doing things "in real life" or to tag stupid things like "real life spoilers". yeah man jimmy fell down a hole and died in real life. yeah man sorry for the real life spoilers but they all only had the basic three lives again. yeah these are super normal things to say. don't worry about it.
