Oh wow another two episodes without Echo, could’ve never seen that one coming. But beyond that the boys.

We see the cadets again which I’m thrilled by. Less thrilled by how they’re used as pack mules then disappear once more. Why bother including them at all writers? What was the point? Did they have any lines? No? Ugh.

BOYD in Happy Birthday Doofus Drake (S2 E18) is a horrifying concept. Poor little guy.

I mean, he though he was a person. He had been programmed to believe that he was Mark Beaks’ son. He calls Beaks “Dad.” He’s attending a birthday party. He went out for ice cream yesterday. Then he’s forced in to malfunction by some little shit who is trying to out-scam who he thought was his father. He’s obviously scared and confused, his little “I can’t remember…” when asked what he did the day before yesterday is really sad, actually.

And then he’s like, hijacked. And forced to shoot at and attack Louie, who he probably would’ve considered a friend. Idk if he would’ve been aware at the time, but even knowing that you could be forced to change so quickly against your will is super scary.

And after all that, he’s moved in to a house with a spoiled rotten older brother who definitely hates him and will be making his life hell in as many ways as he can. Even if his parents are behind him, they can’t back him all the time.

I feel so bad for him, and I wouldn’t except he’s the sweetest little guy. He’s just trying to be a kid please let him do that.

About Queen Monarch again, I’ve always had this vivid picture of her in my mind. I’m not sure how much this lines up with cannon, but I picture her as a very young queen who had only recently went through her metamorphosis. The previous Queen could’ve been killed during her time in the cocoon, leaving her to pick up the crown so early. I imagine she’s very anxious. She’s getting used to having her wings and flamesilk, and has to now lead her tribe all while grieving for her mother, and being terrified of the mystery behind her death. It’s all too easy to imagine Wasp praying on her vulnerability. Monarch would look up to her, an experienced and respected queen. And when given the question, truly begins to believe her tribe would be safer under Queen Wasps leadership rather than her own.

Queen Sequoia however, would begin to question Wasp’s recent interest in Monarch and the Silkwings. I imagine she’d become somewhat protective of the the littlest queen as Wasp became more open about her advances. There could’ve previously been tension between the Silkwings and the Leafwings, Queen Sequoia and the previous Silkwing Queen not on the best of terms. She would at first act cold towards Queen Monarch when her reign started, but would begin to warm up after Queen Monarch made an, albeit awkward, attempt at peace. But even without that, Queen Monarch is a dragonet. Only six years old. Sequoia couldn’t consciously ignore a dragonet having their emotions taken advantage of, especially when Sequoia knew Wasp’s end goal was to take over the other tribes.

Queen Wasp would meanwhile be trying to convince Monarch that the Leafwings were dangerous, and that they had to have caused her mother’s death due to tension previously brewing between the two forest-dwelling tribes. Due to the constant pushback between Wasp and Sequoia, along with the stress of handling issues that arose within her own tribe, and the paranoia of whatever could be lurking in the forest. Queen Monarch finally breaks, giving leadership of her tribe over to Wasp. Thus beginning the start of the Tree Wars.

I only started watching this season at all because Jack Jr is played by my - is it a Blorbo if it’s an actor? I feel like there’s a better word. We’ll say my Bae - but I can’t help notice that the exact same character but female would be even better. And would redeem the “fathers of daughters everywhere [dislike me]” line from horribly gratuitous hetero nonsense that I’m ignoring to gloriously necessary gay nonsense that I would embrace.

I’m a minor, and I have an f/o who is a minor, but what will I do when I become a legal adult and, in canon, their still a minor? Sorry if this is a weird ask

(You don’t have to feel bad for sending a “weird” ask! It’s a genuine question, you and the people who might be reading this are free to ask as many as you want.)

This is a question I’ve had to face various times before, actually. In all honesty, I’m also a minor (under 16), so I just wanna clarify that I don’t have any experience or solid answers for you, sorry. However, this is what I do know:

“Adulting” isn’t an overnight thing. It depends on the age of your F/O, but it’s pretty understandable to have someone who has very recently turned 18 still having feelings for a character that is 16 or 17, y’know? (As the age gap grows, however, it gets problematic. You’ve probably already witnessed the discourse yourself.)

I know this seems like the unfavorable option, but keep in mind that your opinion could change. Maybe you’ll love them differently once you're older and become more aware of the age difference (again, depending on your F/O’s age) or your feelings will naturally fade.

Once you’re older, you could also try to move this F/O into another position that isn’t romantic, such as seeing them in a more platonic light. Remember that friendships and (found) familial ties can be just as important as the romantic ones; you wouldn’t be changing the fact that you love this character, you’d just be changing how.

In my experience (especially if your coming-of-age is gonna be in over a year from now), I tried to think about it as little as possible. In the end, self-shipping shouldn’t be anxiety-inducing, but a part of your life that makes you happy. Things are going to be changing, and it’s alright to relax and let the current take you where it wants to go sometimes, as long as you’re not hurting anybody or yourself.
