What are some good resources for learning Japanese?
Thank you for asking!
For just starting out, I recommend JapanesePod101's videos on both hiragana and katakana.
For beginner grammar, I used and really enjoyed videos from both Japanese Ammo with Misa and Miku Real Japanese (both on YouTube). Misa's videos are a lot longer and more in depth, but if you want a quick overview of a grammar point, Miku's videos are great. Both channels also have lots of other Japanese learning content as well!
For beginner textbooks, Genki is well loved, but I haven't used it myself. I also believe that there are YouTubers who make videos based on the lessons within Genki, if that's up your alley. I won't even name the textbooks I used to start out, because I'd never recommend them.
To get started with kanji, WaniKani is a popular choice that seems to work great, but it's a pretty pricey subscription. I use the app Learn Japanese! - Kanji, which is a one time purchase of 10 USD. It can be buggy, but it has a built in spaced repetition system and, hey, it's ten dollars.
The subreddit r/LearnJapanese has a huge resource list here, but I only link this hesitantly, as my main advice to using it is to look at the resources, and never darken r/LearnJapanese's door ever again. That place is horrible and will eat all motivation you have to learn Japanese. I saw someone ask elsewhere if it was possible to be fluent in Japanese because they saw someone on that subreddit say it wasn't. Seriously, it's bad.
As for my current resources, ie. very much not beginner resources, I'm slowly but surely making my way through Tobira. I really like it as a textbook, but I also just use it as far as I need it. To elaborate, I came back to it after a while of not using it, and found that it was just a bit too easy now (singing the praises of immersion!), so I've been skipping around on the reading comprehension questions, because I just don't think they're worth the effort for me right now. The later chapters probably will be, though.
JPBD is a lifesaver for me right now. I've fought with Anki on multiple occasions and had it work for me many times, but right now, the premade decks are what are gonna get me to study vocabulary, not pretty pictures. I also really like the ability to study a deck before you read something, rather than only being able to study vocabulary retroactively. The example sentences can be weird or terrible, but it allows you to choose from multiple sentences or make your own, so the benefits absolutely outweigh the drawbacks for me. Another thing of note is that these flashcards only go Japanese-English, so if you want to have the option to do English-Japanese cards, you might want to stick to Anki (or idk rip the decks and put them in Anki).
If you're ready to immerse and want to start a collection of physical books, I buy 90% of my Japanese language books through CDJapan. They have multiple options for shipping and are generous enough with sales and rewards points that usually I can get that to cover the cost of shipping. Plus they sell at Japanese retail price (minus tax!) so it's extremely reasonably priced.

Woozi is also my ult and my brain can never settle on one favorite look or era, he’s just amazing and beautiful all the time
omg i do for eras i've been through!!! i started stanning a few months before face the sun so i haven't been through a whole lot of comebacks but i think super is my fav era so far, closely followed by follow again woozi bc he is just insane lately i cannot handle him

Can I request some Casmund Headcanons... About food? Lol I feel like it would be a very interesting topic cuz of Edmund's sweet tooth and that lol
oh my gosh it's been such a long time since i wrote headcanons, but thank you for asking!! this is such a fun request :3c
edmund and caspian are pretty much the total opposite of each other when it comes to food: edmund is a very picky eater while caspian likes almost everything
edmund associates certain foods with certain times in his life, making him dislike them, especially if they relate to winter (based on this headcanon post)
edmund prefers simple foods that don't require a lot of preparing, cooking, mixing etc.
he loves fruit - yes, especially the sweet ones, like strawberries, grapes, pineapple, clementines etc.
he also really likes dried fruit, such as dates or figs.
while he also enjoys many other foods, like bread, soups, stews, potatoes and such, he usually eats only a little bit of it to keep room for something sweet afterwards - or he puts a heck load of jam on his toast, a lot of sugar and honey in his tea etc etc etc.
caspian will calmly eat whatever and look at edmund devouring multiple slices of cake when they have dinners.
(he does this in front of anyone else too, even at important dinners, edmund needs dessert)
neither of them are very good cooks btw.
edmund has the technical skills but the flavour palette of a child and caspian is way too clumsy to make a proper meal
together they make it work though, if necessary
they like eating what others have made more though (lucy is an expert at baking, especially cookies)
one of their favourite things to do together, as a date, is find a pretty place, preferably in soft grass, and have some simple food together: bread with butter, nuts and fruits and wine.
they will feed each other, sometimes jokingly, but really it gives them butterflies from time to time
sometimes edmund talks about the kind of sweets that he liked in england - even trying to recreate them in narnia, often to no avail.
one of caspians favourite moments is when edmund has leftover food around his mouth (cake icing, liquid from fruit) and clean it away

Hey, I'm new to the Star Wars fandom here (TT) and I am an avid reader, can you suggest what books I should buy and in what order because u seem like a pretty well organized guy in terms of books, thanks (plz help, I will literally go broke if I buy them all, thanks)
welcome to star wars!!! 🫶 it's a hell of a mess but it's worth it haha i've been collecting for awhile, i have 173 of the novels (here's a link to an inventory spreadsheet if you're curious which ones), but there are almost four hundred available if you include all legends and extended universe in addition to disney canon. which is frankly too many lol
a useful book is the essential reader's companion by pablo hidalgo, which was published in 2012 and provides short summaries of all novels published before then, so you have a sense of what kind of books are available about the EU etc. it's good to have on hand to guide you through the absolute thicket that is legends haha
my personal area of interest is the prequels and obi-wan/anakin, so those are the books i really know the most about. the thrawn books by timothy zahn are notoriously pretty good for example, but i've only read one of them, and can't really comment on the rest. i've also only read one high republic book, light of the jedi by charles soule, which i adored, but can't comment on the rest of that era either.

also, a pro tip i guess is to check out ebay used book lots, people dump big piles of sw books all the time for relatively cheap and that can be a great way to jumpstart a collection without breaking the bank

Top 5 Jou moments (in your opinion)!!!
!!!! All of them! But these will always hold a special place in my heart.
1. This entire arc is my favorite. But this! Jou knew the danger, and he told Honda to take everyone to safety and stayed there with Yugi. This quote "Yugi, I'll stay with you on the edge of the River Styx, but I won't let you cross!" Jounouchi knew how important this was for Yugi and how dangerous. Instead of forcing him out he stayed there with him. He did everything he could to keep him safe. This section really showcased Jounouchi's bravery and love he has for Yugi and his friends. It also showed his patience and understanding as well.
(I had to include this panel as well!)
2. I had these panels in the last ask because I just love them so much. But this moment!! Jounouchi was being chased by a zombie professor who wanted to kill him. He was just pushed out a window and was still currently in danger. He looks up and sees his friend in trouble. Without a 2nd thought, he climbs up to save her. I love this moment because, again, it really just showcases Jou's altruistic nature. Jounouchi truly loves and cares deeply for his friends and for others. "Anzu! I'm HERE! Everything is going to be ALL RIGHT!" Jou, who is standing very wobbly on a building, being chased by a zombie man, who knows how much danger they're in, wants to reassure his friend. He wants her to know that he is there and he will protect her. Absolutely gets to me all the time.
3. The moment he returned. Absolutely an all-time favorite moment. He died. There was no brain activity. He was gone. And THEN! This stubborn boy, with the most willpower of any human, comes back to life! For Yugi/Atem! He came back because nothing was going to keep him from the people he cared about and trying his hardest to protect them. Boy met the God of Death for the 4th? Time and said no thanks, I still have shit I need to do. He is truly a cat with 9 lives. The day he finally crosses the river styx, death will be greeting him like an old friend (or be very suspicious at what bargain he'll try next).
4. The moment Jounouchi beat Keith. He won, on his own. Not with "luck." Not because "someone helped him." He won on his own, against all odds. This is the moment Jounouchi's confidence in himself truly begins to change. He finally begins to believe in his abilities and who he is as a person. Absolutely love this moment and his whole duel with Keith. I have so many thoughts on it.
5. This whole duel, the earlier moments but ESPECIALLY, this moment lives rent free in my head forever. "Yugi, I'm sorry, and thank you." Jounouchi didn't even consider grabbing his key. He grabbed Yugi's. Then, after being dragged into the water, calmly unlocks Yugi's cuff. Jou knew he would most likely die. But he saved the person he cares so much about. The Yugi, I'm sorry, and thank you. Just. Again, the altruistic nature he has. He loves truly loves his friends, ESPECIALLY Yugi. The thank you carries so much.

-Manifested Ink: Mk is able to manifest Ink!mk into the real world as one of his clones. Unfortunately for him, he accidentally gives the new ink clone almost the same autonomy as the real ink demon. (based partially on the fake episodes I made)
- Dungeons and Demons (A dnd retelling): This isn’t so much an au as it is an actual storyline in my homebrew dnd campaign. Mk sets off to fight in an arena as a coming of an age trail. What he doesn’t know is that this year’s patron is the one and only Sun Wukong.
- The Pillar Thief: Mk is just a normal delivery boy, adopted by one of the best chefs in the city. Besides, what he thinks are the occasional jaundice scares, he’s a pretty healthy human boy. But when the shadows around him start acting up, mk learns very quickly that he’s the next cyclical reincarnation of the mischievous Monkey king. (Percy Jackson Au)

I really hope I don’t come off as rude asking this, I’m just not sure of the best way to ask it lol.
Was Moon built with Generalized Anxiety Disorder? Or basically I guess built neurodivergent? Was that on purpose when he was built, or was it an accident, or did something in his mind glitch when he became more sentient or something?
Because now his paranoia is so bad after the accident, poor guy. I feel so bad for Moon, he must feel so alone and like the world is against him. That would grind anybody’s spirit down :(
He has anxiety for sure, but he and his brother are both AI. learning, growing algorithms- which means that their neurodivergence is a result of their environment and how they grew up. Having so much pressure on your future would def lead to anxiety, and a generalized disorder formed over time!

I'm going to send shit tons of asks about the lost avatar au so be prepared.
Anyhoo, how old are the gaang? And why did sokka and katara go out to find aang? And what are toph and zuko doing? Is zuko still on thr hunt? Is toph still with her parents, living her double life?
And be prepared to me answering them all cuz I will and I shall >>>>:3💥💥💥
The story is setted up 1,5 years after Aang breaking the ice, so the gaang are one and a half year older, about to finish the second year. I know Sozin's comet came in the first year but in this one it'll come later, about a year or half a year later.
Sokka and Katara going out to find the Avatar is actually quite normal in this universe because just like what Zuko was doing in the OG show, the Avatar is actively hunted because no one thinks he actually vanished and finding the Avatar is like catching the Bludger in Quidditch. Whoever gets him will have him on their side(!)
The same exact things happened to Toph while leaving her house in the AU but this time she was alone in the whole progress. And her meeting with the Gaang will be together with Sokka because they met first in the swamp first XD!!! While Aang and Katara are a duo alone, Sokka and Toph are their own duo on the other side till they meet again💥💥💥
Zuko is hunting the avatar just like in the OG but this time, he has Azula with her. They are not on the same ships or routes but they keep crossing eachother's routes. And in this AU I executed all the family drama for many reasons. First stuff I'm not a fan of family dramas like that and I wanted Azula and Zuko to be comedically rivals on their journey, knowing when to team up or fight eachother just because when given the chance.
Zuko is not on the exile neither is Azula, but going out to world to capture the avatar is a commonly given generational mission to princes and princesses who are not a ruler yet to learn more about the world, explore, and learn so many things along the way of catching their one fast golden ticket the avatar. Ultimate honor
Ursa is still in the castle and doesn't has any issues with Azula neither does Ozai with any of kids and they're pretty chill with eachother aswell, another reason why I threw away their family business is because the focus of this AU is NOT THEM!! The focus are other things and I am pretty much more fond of the nice fire family who is nothing like that OG, this is my AU don't @ me!! I like this so much better this way

maya my beloved, thank you for asking!!!!! jaykon firemedic kon au is sooooo. i have so many thoughts about it. the au is huge and expansive in my brain. without making this a huge long post with disjointed thoughts, heres the rundown.
clex grew up together and were besties and then partners and trans!lex had kon as an oopsie baby when they were teenagers before they had the whole superman falling out. ma and pa took kon in bc neither lex or clark were able to take care of him since they were teens as well, and kon grew up thinking of clark as more of a brother than a dad.
bc kon's a biokid and not a clone, he has way fewer powers and what he does have are weaker. this means hes not a superhero, but he DOES want to save people, so he became a firefighter. he did the volly to paid route, and went to gotham u for fire science. when he got on with gcfd he showed interest in becoming a medic so they put him through paramedic school. kon is a huge nerd and keeps a huge medic kit at home, which is also just a good idea in general bc he lives in gotham, and also he taught himself how to do stitches for funsies.
jason is still red hood, and one night he got hit hard enough to slow him down near kon's place, and kon ends up taking care of him. jason keeps going back to get patched up by kon, and he totally has a crush on him.
i just want kon to be a badass firemedic, and also kiss jason 🥰

I could most certainly give some of my headcanons!! Some will be relationship stuff, others will be individual stuff because I can. Going to mention NSFW things.
1. Chris runs hot, Leon runs cold. You can't tell me Chris wouldn't be a furnace that Leon cuddles with hehe.
2. I firmly believe they would get together in the canon timeline after vendetta and before death island
3. Leon's a bottom most of the time, but occasionally Chris bottoms.
4. On that note, Leon has a small penis (not even a headcanon because it really is canon)
5. I think that Leon has autism and that Chris has ADHD. Haha just like meeeeee
6. They both like alternative rock. I don't make the rules. Actually I do but that's besides the point.
7. They first met way before canon implies they did. Probably met in person sometime between 2005-7. Before infinite darkness.
8. They both get nightmares and they each cuddle the other until they calm down. Before they got together, Leon would use alcohol to go back to sleep, but with Chris he's able to avoid drinking (at least when they are both home). He slowly gets better in that front the longer they are together.
9. Leon really likes breakfast foods. Can and will eat it for every meal possible. Chris really likes Tex-mex (in addition to American staples like hotdogs, brats, burgers, and steaks). I like tacos. What can I say.
10. They both fall for each other pretty early on, practically after their first meeting, but are convinced that the other is straight so they don't do anything about their feelings for YEARS; this leads to their feelings turning into love before they even know it and once they confess, it's like two puzzle pieces finally clicking together

I know you’re probably already getting bombarded with messages about your tattoo so please don’t feel pressured to answer quickly!
You mentioned planning a sleeve of ancient art. May I ask what you’re planning to include on it and why? I’m fascinated and, though I already loved your ice maiden before, your expertise and perspective gave me more reason to love her! I’m curious about your sleeve plans for that reason :D
I am, in fact, but this is actually a question that isn't going to be included in the pinned post I'm putting together, so I will happily answer it!
The next one I'm planning to get is this Minoan octopus on my forearm and a bit on my elbow, probably some time in October (I still need to make an appointment for it...). Another I definitely plan to directly replicate is a pair of lionesses from Chauvet cave (the two in the upper right of the image). Things I am pondering, and might find an artist to redraw in a more dynamic pose to fit between/curl around other tattoos on the sleeve while still trying to keep some of the original style include: a mushussu from the Ishtar Gate, a Set animal from Egypt, the Etruscan Chimera of Arezzo, probably something from the walls of Catalhoyuk (there's some neat leopards that I quite like), maybe an Assyrian lion because I am never not mesmerized by the way Assyrians carved lions...
Also it might not end up on the sleeve, probably gonna go somewhere else, but if I can find an artist I am positive can replicate the blown pigment pattern, I really really want a blown handprint like this. That particular photo is from Argentina, but they're found all over the world, this exact technique, basically everywhere in the world that Paleolithic human paintings remain, and I think the fact that one bit of culture was shared among apparently every human on earth at one time, for a long long time, no matter how far they wandered and how far they diverged from each other, is just... wonderful.
