"perfect" is a myth, it's not real. Everyone, including you usually ignore any kind of mistake on someone else's art because it's the effort that counts
You can pretend that all ocs without a story is inside a huge apartment building in your mind. Eventually they'll be "hired" and put into an existing story or you'd make one for them. Don't rush it tho, it's okay to have ocs dormant

Making up names is hella stupid, anything can be a name and no one will think twice about it so go ham. This goes for fictional characters or yourself
Treat your oc sets like it's an existing fandom, make so much fake posters, screenshots, lore dump, character renders etc

Also do not spread an unnecessary amount of negativity. No one wants to hear that you don't like a character in the character's tag, or a ship, or an oc, or a headcanon. You can dislike/hate it in private with someone else who dont like em too but for the love of fuck do NOT do express it in public even in anon
learn the difference between "not my preference" and "problematic" you can dislike a character or a HARMLESS ship or anything solely just cuz. No need to convince people to dislike it too if it's nothing horrible

thanks for turning on anon asks!! i dont want to get this linked back to my actual account where i try to keep things pretty discourse-free. what i wanted to say is that i really get where yr coming from with the falling into transmasc vs transfem thing??? i find myself going oh no thats a trans woman so shes not gonna like me a lot and then i feel really guilty abt it so its good to know that other transandro bloggers are aware of that whole thing. how do you keep yrself from falling into those thinking patterns?
No problem at all, anon! I understand that this can be a topic that you don't necessarily want. attention. on you. Perfectly valid to keep yourself safe.
This touches on something that I've been realizing more often for myself, though! When you are educating yourself on topics such as transandrophobia, the loud and vocal minority of transandrophobes are likely to speak up in comments and replies of posts doing so, which makes it seem like they're everywhere. Much like vocal transphobes, we must remember that this is a minority; most people may not have even heard of transandrophobia, but I'm sure they'd agree that "trans men experience oppression for being trans men that other trans people don't experience". Because that's common sense.
The other reason I find myself falling into that pattern is the centering of trans women in these transandrophobia discussions. A lot of it ends up with people arguing if transmisogyny is worse or not, and I think that misses the entire point. But if you see these transandrophobes going on and on about trans women having it worse (and some of those people being trans women themselves who are lashing out for whichever reason), you're going to start connecting transandrophobia and trans women.
Which sucks. It really fucking does. The brain is equipped to notice patterns, and it's going to emphasize in accordance to how transandrophobes emphasize.
So how do I personally stop this from happening?
I follow trans women.
Feels like a no-brainer, right? But recently I realized I was not following any trans education that was run by trans women, mostly because I had been scared of researching into the blogs themselves in case I found bigotry towards trans men, and I am not in the business of digital self-harm. If anyone has any good blogs feel free to drop them here, and I'll reblog!
If I feel myself getting incensed, I step back
If you find yourself getting really mad, step back and ask yourself:
- Where is this anger coming from? (At transphobia or has it been construed somehow?)
- Where is this anger directed? (At transandrophobes, or at trans women?)
- Who has posted this? (TERF psyops do exist, and if a blog is posting inflammatory content, they might be baiting you)
- Is this user in the same circle as other transandrophobes? (There was a ring of particularly nasty transandrophobes that I blocked for mocking trans men and suggesting corrective sexual assault, and I have not found as many since)
Go to irl queer spaces.
While this is not going to be a solution for everyone, I find stepping offline and talking to irl trans women is beneficial. Make friends with trans people! This discourse is so terminally online, and the only reason I participate in it is because I do what I can irl and therefore my only contribution is not arguing over discourse.
I also interact with other trans men who are normal about trans women as well. I hope this helps! Media literacy is good to practice, and I'm proud of you for owning up to something very hard, anon.

First, let me be clear – I do not give one single shit about Harry Potter. They are the best memories of my extremely shitty adolescence, I still read fanfic from time to time, but other than that, if I never hear the word "Harry Potter" again it will be too soon. I care about the fact that you clowns are
encouraging bullies and endangering mentally ill marginalized fans
leeching the air from leftist and queer discourse
fuelling a Western culture war that distracts from combating systemic transphobia
making suffering Black and brown communities, who mostly see white and Western trans people, think that trans people don't have any real problems beyond video games
Now, on to your ask:
I said never said not buying the game was the same as writing fanfic on the internet. I said that the furor over buying the game is leading to everyone who had anything to do with Harry Potter, including just writing fanfic, being bullied. I've had to unfollow so many people for reblogging posts attacking people for being in the *fandom*.
Asking people to refrain from doing something to prove that they care, especially demanding that they don't, has never in the history of activism worked. Black people have been speaking out against copaganda shows forever and STILL get harrassed. Indigenous people have been asking people to boycott Avatar and gotten nothing. Some people comply, but more do the thing simply out of contrarianism, and the entire issue becomes a culture war divided along political affiliation. People on the right go out of their way to do the thing, the people on the center and center-left won't really care, and people who identify as leftist divorce themselves even more from the rest of the left as being no better than the right, which eventually devastating results when it comes to actual elections and agitating for political change.
What works a lot better is harm reduction. Pirating is harm reduction, asking the HP fandom to offset JKR's fuckery by making their own merch, promoting indie games and donating to trans healthcare funds is harm reduction. People won't stand for being policed, but they like giving and also not paying for stuff with a clear conscience. You would have raised so much fucking money and promoted so many different things in all this time you've spent giving the game negative engagement clicks and keeping it trending on social media so long after its release.
You keep insisting that people shouldn't be fans because JKR equals her fandom with her own influence. This is called buying into the right-wing narrative. The woman is delusional (I can't think of a non-ableist word atm, and I honestly think that she's not all stable) and you're enabling her and her terf cult. We created the online HP fandom ourselves back in the aughts, before there was any merch, before movie rights were ever sold to WB, a full decade before her advertising machine ever woke up to the fact that an internet fandom existed. JKR has lost relevance for HP fans a long time ago; imagine the slap in the face for her if the fandom starts countering her bigotry by very prominently engaging in trans activism? The JKR terf cult in the HP fandom are a minority, like TERFs themselves (they're only so loud because the right-wing promotes the shit out of them). The vast majority of fans are just the kind of vaguely well-meaning cis people who don't agree with transphobes but are pretty ignorant about trans issues. And I do mean the vast majority, because literally a billion people grew up on her books and only a bare fraction is on social media at all, and even fewer even see the leftist drive to boycott the franchise.
Let's talk demographics. Because of the aforementioned vastness of consumers, the majority of HP fans are cis het, abled, neurotypical Millennials. Because of the way internet penetration works, the majority of HP fans online and even in fandom are white or Western. Leftist spaces mostly attract young and marginalized people, and transformative fandom is full of neurodivergent women and queer people. Which means the majority of people you're reaching are young queer neurodivergent people who have limited economic power themselves. And the people most vulnerable to and impacted by policing and harrassment are trans, Black and brown, Jewish, mentally ill, poor. Do you see the problem? You're policing the very bottom rungs of the socio-economic ladder on the off-chance of maybe influencing a privileged few who might give a damn.
This is literally why we say that boycotts, especially over social media, don't fucking work. Firstly because they penalize the most disenfranchised consumers, it's hard to reach enough people to even explain why they matter, it's hard to keep up with the constant discourse and changing information, and it relies entirely on performance. Someone can stay quiet or nod along furiously to whatever you're saying and then just...go out and buy the thing. Social censure doesn't work when you have the option of not having to face the consequences. Contrary to hellsite opinion, the Fantastic Beasts franchise died because it sucked, and Harry Potter is dying because it's fading from relevance and JKR is being an embarrassment. The wider market doesn't even know y'all exist.
As for the game being racist and antisemitic...you come on my blog, a South Asian who has been in fandom for twenty years, and try to tell me about racism in media???? NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF ALL MEDIA IS RACIST AND ANTISEMITIC YOU ABSOLUTE CLOWN. I'm from South Asia, our children grow up on books written by colonizers! LORD OF THE RINGS is white supremacy! NARNIA is white supremacy! Disney and Marvel is one of the biggest figures in US military industrial complex that razed the Middle East to the ground. It's so ubiquitous that we have to accept the racism and white supremacy as a matter of course to engage with any Western media! And even then fandom is so racist it's hard to even exist in it! We get run out of it when we try to talk about it. You suck on white supremacy every single day you live like it's your Mum's teat! Do you know what it's like to hear whiteys ranting that people who consume this one game they hate are being antisemitic and racist??? While still fawning??? Over cop shows???? And Disney???? so youtube dropped some “trans women in sports” videos on my way, I watched one, it was well analyzed from a scientific point of view, but it only gave example of trans athletes who have won something against cis women, but I doubt it was intentional as the creator’s opinion is that competitive sports can never be truly fair as the genetic advantages of some people simply can not be controlled even in between cis people. over all a good video
then we go to the comments, and while there are plenty positive trans inclusive ones, the terfs are there to.
their talking points start with:
thousands of cases, of trans women breaking records and taking wins from “reAL wAMeWn”
when you asked them to give you any example of those thousands, they of course move the goal posts and go on about
“but the athlete at 9th place would have taken the scholarship, or would qualify for the olympics, if the trans woman was not participating”
and you reply like a logical person, that the trans woman was 7th, or 6th or 4th, a mere top 10 athlete she didn’t break any records, her times/scores/weights/whateverthehell are similar to her cis opponents.
and they go
“but if she was playing in men’s sports she would be nobody!11!!”
and you check your notes on a specific athlete to see that she had broken a record in the men’s division before her transition, then she stopped competing, until she was fully transitioned and in the regulation for trans athletes, and she won some local medals she lost some other locals, she didnt won a world title and she didnt break any record, so what the fuck you really talking about here?
“you are delusional, I have trans friends, I’m not transphobic”
then when they have nothing else to say, they go to another of their points, school sports
“but I was talking about school kids at 16 hormone replacement hasn’t kicked in yet!”
you have a perfect solution, puberty blockers
and they ignore all these points and they go back to elementary school biology of “males are stronger than females therefore unfair”
we been knew that they dont give a fuck about facts at hand even if you slap them in the face with them.
then after that video and some back and fourths in the comments, youtube recommended another of those videos
now the one talking about the thing, is a cis white man, who is gay and a doctor and proclaims that he’s fully supportive of trans people, but the truth is the truth, and what he provides is a lengthy analysis of how male people are stronger than female people after puberty, and plays again and again that rich ass white girl who came 10th in a race and “lost” a scholarship she didnt need, to the 2 black trans girls who competed with her. and how it was so unfair for her.
he speaks of the “HRT reduces strength” for 30 seconds and dismisses it as not enough. shows pictures of some trans athletes that have made the news, but doesnt touch on their performances whatsoever. he doesnt touch at all on puberty blockers, which is probably the case with most if not all trans kids athletes these days. (where they have not been illegal that is)
now nobody ever reports on how many trans athletes are there really
a list on wiki shows less that 50 athletes
in tokyo olympics around 10k athletes participated, only ONE(1) was trans
of course in local competitions the number becomes bigger, but it is still so insignificant that we are talking about a literal non existent problem

You are evil if you don’t support everyone under the lgbt umbrella. And I’m talking about: You are evil if you’re an exclusionist.
If you hate aro/ace people, if you hate he/him lesbians, if you think that pan or bi people are wrong or assume bi people are transphobic, if you hate funky trans people who have weird identities or neoprouns, if you hate people who have reclaimed slurs and call themselves queer or fag or tranny or dyke, if you think queer people who openly engage in kink are gross, if you dislike gender non conforming people, literally just anything: You are a fucking evil fed, and a nasty horrible person.
All you’re doing is creating division in a community. You are actively helping every conservative who wants us dead. They’re going to see that you’re big enough of an idiot to believe that people in your own community are expressing themselves “wrong”, and use that as justification to be like “yeah those queer people are wrong and gross and they should have no rights or deserve to die.” and if they can find a way to come after the “weird” disliked queers, they arent going to stop there. They’re going to come after you too, you moron. Because they think we’re all disgusting.
There’s no right way to be queer. Even if you don’t understand the identity at all, that doesn’t give you any right to dictate how someone else feels about themselves and their body and their sexuality. It’s not “homophobic” or “transphobic” for someone to identify in a way that is different from the preconceived notions you have about queer people. its not fucking lesbophobic for someone to identify as a bi lesbian, they are clearly just trying to find labels they feel fit them and if it doesnt match what you think a lesbian is: so fucking what! They aren’t fucking harming anyone. We are all the same in the sense that we deviate from what cishet people consider “normal”. (Though this can also apply to cishet people who just dont conform to what people think of as cis or het, for example I’ve seen some cis people use differing pronouns even if they identify as cis: pronouns don’t necessarily equate to gender, and they can do what they want! They arent taking anything away from queer people, in fact theyre only helping to normalize when people want to use different pronouns)

I'm not sure I should even be on this subject anymore with how I tend to react to it.
(Can't add Readme but here's where it would go)
To me being female is intrinsic to and unseperatable to being second class person growing up and it is also an unseperatable part if me. It is like the color of my skin where even when I fought to be more than just a girl or woman I was always held down and back by being a woman.
And maybe it's jealousy of male puberty and the liberty granted to males in my life -because as much as culture dictate they provide or protect it is me paying for my own schooling, my rent, the food, the bills; me doing the chores the talking the car fixing- but there is an unseperateable part of what feminity and womanhood is in that struggle to be recognized as a equal. A struggle that was not asked for, and can't be run or hidden from. It's not all of it but it is a formative part.
And so - and I won't lie this is something I think I might need therapy for- to me claiming that feminity without having faced the history is fraught. It's claiming powerlessness when you have/had the power. And instead of embracing traditionally feminine activities or ideals or aestetics and continuing despite sex it... embraces these things while adhereing to it.
And on the concept of gender neutral I don't have a conceptualization for it other than not ascribing to either gender role (which I always thought was taught and assigned) which I thought was like. The norm. Because both are incredibly constrictive and don't actually represent real how real people live.
And as for transmen well I will be honest and say I have no idea and no info on it. I've known two transmen but one detransistioned and the other is just the dude I took class with.
Not to mention the discourse in the community itself? Like there's inclusive trans binary trans transfluid and like transcum and transmed and dysphoria
(On a side note? Wtf is the Treatment for gender dysphoria? Because why the hell did I like. Just get told to basically deal with it when receiving treatment for ana/bul and that I just had to overcome that feeling and learn to live with it but like that def does not seem to be the case for gender dysphoria. So reading things like do X to feel more like your dysphoric image of yourself is... Not at all how I was trained to deal with it. They were like " yeah sometimes you'll not wanna eat and tear your skin off that's normal ride it out and dont do that and def eat despite dysphoria")
I'm here. I'm listening. I'm genuinely trying to understand.
And then everything I try to go to tumblr -a fucking leftist source if there was one- and search transwoman is hyper sexualized and fetishized selfies instead of gender discussion. Same with trans. Just to be sure I type in woman and get paintings and then radfem and terf actually have discourse and discussion. Which is why I am thankful for the tag recs.
Btw tranmen? Some affirmation and discourse. But like. Also chock full of radfem and terf stuff.
But then, on a side note, to be literally 2nd gen after ww2 in this country and then be called nazi? What the fuck? Is that the greatest act of violence? For me to say -on the internet- " hey uh I know that this is generally gonna be hated but I think I might be a terf here's why I'm not really sure what's going on"
And then thats nazi self identification somehow.
Go outside and touch grass. Go to 4chan and see what neonazis will actually post. Come here to the US south where people feel comfy enough unironically tell me that men are better and that I should know my place. Where cops have in the last 6 month shot someone because they smelled weed while he was walking and they pinned him to the ground a street over and there is a lawsuit for use over canines against civilians and for an illegal body slam. (All separate.) Where there are legitimate state reps who want to legislate how afab can move in and outta state.
And thats not trying to be like oppression Olympics. That's saying here and now calling me a nazi and being devisive feels outta touch and insane. I literally have little to no control over myself how tf am I going to be controlling anyone else.

oh god just now i saw someone posting their own selfie and talk about how tumblr bombed their account for calling out fascists.... and then they asked everyone who looked at the post to like and reblog to show support against fascism... fucking performative bullshit, its only a few days twitter lost its moderation and our hellsite is already going downhill fast. i havent even talked about how some of my trans mutuals got an influx of terf blogs recommended at their dash. why dont you newcomers just touch grass, do some community service instead of finding another social media to get addicted to? die of embarrasment!!!!

Would love to have an actual conversation/debate with someone about sex work. Like I can vaguely understand how people buy into queer theory and transactivism but every time I wonder if maybe I'm somehow an evil person for being a radfem, "swerf" discourse is one of the main things that boggles my brain. There's so much fucking research about the effects of porn and how prostitution is a traumatic experience for the vast majority of women who go through it like how on earth have we decided that it's woke to allow men to continue buying the rights to women's bodies??
So if anyone wants to try to justify their position I would genuinely love to hear it.

Something terrible has happened to trans people in the UK.
ClearChemist, one of the only private chemists that supplied hormones to British trans people (and did so through GenderGP, one of the only two private hormone suppliers in the UK), has seen the negative press surrounding us and the awful shit going on with Tavistock (one of the main Gender Clinics) and they’ve decided to stop supplying HRT.
That means thousands of transgender people have suddenly been told that our prescriptions have stopped, effective immediately.
When I say that this will kill people, I mean it.
This means that trans people who have been on hormones for years through GenderGP or ClearChemist can no longer access treatment and their bodies will return to how they were before.
This means people who have just started treatment and are finally starting to see themselves in the mirror will have to lose the hope that this provided them with.
This means trans youth who were on hormone blockers through GGP/ClearChemist will now be forced to go through a puberty that alienates them from their own bodies.
And it’s because of the negative press.
They are choking our resources and silencing our voices. They are removing our supports from under our feet.
They are killing us.
